"Welcome to training, Y/N." Steve said. He was dressed in his Captain America suit, vibranium shield gleaming underneath the lights of the training area.
He was directed by Fury to make sure that Y/N was ready for the field. He was powerful, but he lacked the experience to make him a powerful force for good. Steve was here to test him and make sure he was ready.
"You'll have two minutes to fight me. Me light on your feet. Be fast. Stay focused."
"Sounds easy enough." Y/N said.
"Any questions?" Steve asked him.
"Yeah. Why is he here?" Y/N indicated to Ikaris, who flew down next to Steve with a smirk. "Two against one isn't a fair fight."
"You have to remember that in the field, your enemies won't care about fairness or taking it easy. They'll do whatever they have to do to win the fight. You need to adapt and be quick to counter." Steve said.
"Also, you have super-strength and speed. Invulnerability. I'd say this is more than fair." Ikaris smirks.
Y/N nods and gets in a fighting stance. He's ready for this.
Steve spun and threw his shield at Y/N, who bends back ompletely, avoiding the attack. It ricochet off the wall and back into Steve's hands. He and Ikaris share a nod as Ikaris flights into the air and directs his optical lasers at Y/N. The young Avenger used his superspeed to run all around the room as Ikaris tried to tag him.
Y/N runs forward and swipes Steve's shield from his hands and uses it to protect him from Ikaris's golden eye beam blasts. Y/N uses the same move as Steve and throws the shield at Ikaris's chest, sending him flying into the wall. Steve runs towards Y/N, in hand to hand combat as they both block, kick, and punch.
The Super-Soldier throws a kick as Y/N grabs it and throws him to the side. Steve flips mid-air and uses the momentum of Y/N's throw to jump off the wall and back towards him. At that exact moment, Ikaris throws the shield forward, and Steve catches it at the last second, slamming himself into Y/N as they both go sliding across the floor.
Y/N stood up a moment later and glared at Steve and Ikaris. "Haven't you had enough?"
Steve smiled. "I could do this all day."
He charged forward and took a swipe as Y/N ducked before colliding with Ikaris's fist. He grunts as he blocks their attacks as much as possible, but between Steve and Ikaris's fluid movements, it's hard for Y/N to find a place to counterattack. He was sent flying by both their combined strengths as he hit the wall and moans slightly.
"Maybe he's not taking this seriously." Ikaris teased.
That made Y/N's blood boil. Who was this asshole to judge him? Even if he is hot, he's still an asshole. Y/N charged forward as Ikaris met his attack as they were both locked into a contest of strength. "Don't tell me you're going easy on us? Is that all you have to offer?"
Y/N headbutts Ikaris then swipes his legs and knocks him on his back. Y/N zips forward and slammed his fists into Steve's shield as it absorbs the force. Y/N zips around and slams his fists all over Steve's body as the soldier grunts in pain. Ikaris flew into the air and sent a blast their way as Y/N threw the shield one more time, and the force caused a small explosion as the shield fell harmlessly to the floor.
Before anyone could move, the sound of a buzzer went off, indicating the two minutes were up. Steve stood and retrieved his shield. "I'm impressed. You relied on both your powers and your own skills. Ikaris?"
They looked at the Eternal, who had a hard look on his face. "You were okay at best. You need more training. Your technique was sloppy, and it could have cost you the battle."
"But I did everything you said. There was no rule about beating you guys." Y/N protested.
"If you think like that, then you'll never be ready for anything." Ikaris said.
"Screw you!" Y/N turned to walk off.
"Y/N!" Steve said.
He speeds off as Steve sighed and glared at Ikaris. "Did you have to be so harsh?"
"This isn't a game, Steve. This is real life. He needs to learn the hard way."

The M word (Ajak x F!Reader) part 3
part 1
_________________________
"Fuck off! Sersi is mine!" you yelled, smiling as you ran down the halls.
Ajak's laughter followed you, and you knew the woman was hot on your heels, so you quickened your pace. You knew you were being childish, and the other would probably complain later that you made her lose her straightness, but at that moment you decided to enjoy seeing her so free and happy. Plus, giving Thena a little blackmail material never hurt.
"You already have Makkari and Druig!" she protested but you could hear the amusement in her tone
"And I'm going for Phastos and Kingo!" you yelled back
"We agreed to leave Kingo last!"
"Then I'm going for Ikaris!"
You laughed again as you took a sharp turn down a hallway. You turned your head so you could stick your tongue out at Ajak, not noticing that a door opened, causing you to enter the meeting room and crash directly into Gilgamesh. At least the man didn't seem affected by it.
"Are you alright?" he asked you, helping you to your feet
"Yes" you laughed "thank you"
"She touched him, does that count as having him on our team?"
You looked around to realize that the rest of the Eternals were also in the room, most of them looking at you in confusion as Druig and Makkari smiled knowingly at you. You returned the gesture and hugged one of Gilgamesh's arms just in time for Ajak to enter the room. She tried to look serious and demure as always, but you knew that everyone had heard her laughter in the halls, and the beads of sweat and her heavy breathing gave her away.
"I just took Gil away from you" you told the woman with a grin
The prime eternal simply rolled her eyes fondly and crossed her arms, smiling at you in amusement. You stuck your tongue out at her again and pressed a little closer against Gilgamesh, you could hear Druig giggling and you didn't have to look to know Thena was smiling too.
"Well that leaves Phastos for me then" your girlfriend said
"Over my dead body!" you said, letting go of the man and pressing an accusing finger into the woman's chest.
"Uh, did I miss something?" Kingo said "what's going on here?"
You looked at your family, feeling truly lucky to belong to such a special group and to be seen as an equal by them despite everything. It had been years since you had felt anything like it and you could no longer imagine a life without them.
"Oh, don't you know?" you asked mockingly
"Know what?"
You shared a look with Ajak, almost as if you were silently asking her permission, to which she nodded, her smile never leaving her lips. You turned to the Eternals, ready to drop a bombshell that only Makkari, Druig, and Thena knew about.
"We're getting married" you smiled.
The following seconds were deathly silent, where everyone seemed to try to register your words as if they were foreign to them. Kingo was the first to react and from there it was all screaming and chaos. Warm and familiar chaos.
"What?!"
"FUCKING FINALLY!"
"AND WHY DID I NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!"
"We found out this morning"
"No, no hold on, why did they know before ME?!"
"Because Ajak loves me more"
"No, no, I get you, Thena, I was talking about Druig"
You and Ajak looked at each other for a moment before sharing a laugh as Druig and Kingo got into a little argument. Sometimes it was hard to remember that these people were in charge of watching over and protecting humanity, especially when they behaved like kindergartners.
"Congratulations" Gilgamesh smiled at you.
"Thank you" you replied
"And who asked who?" Phastos asked, approaching you.
"Oh, none have" Ajak replied.
The room went completely silent again and you had to bite your lower lip to keep from laughing at everyone's faces. You really wished you had the camera that Phastos had given you at that moment.
"Excuse me, what?"
"Well, we talked about it some time ago and we both agreed that we'd like to take that step" you said, blushing when Ajak linked her fingers with yours "But there hasn't been a formal proposal."
"And that's where we come in" Thena smiled.
"What do you mean?" Ikaris intervened
"Ajak asked me this morning if I could help her plan something to propose to Y/N" the blonde replied.
"And Y/N heard it, so she asked Makkari and me to help make her proposal to Ajak better" Druig added.
"So here we are" you said "recruiting you all to help us"
"Oh, proposals war! I like it" Kingo smiled "what's the prize?"
"The winner chooses where we spend our honeymoon and the names of our future children"
You laughed as Ajak choked next to you and blushed so deeply that even her dark skin couldn't hide it. She looked at you with wide eyes and you had to place a quick kiss on her lips to prevent her from scolding you. You knew that was not part of what you had agreed to, but it occurred to you at the moment. You weren't even sure you could (or that she wanted) have kids, and it was definitely something you had to talk about later, but for now, you pretended it was all part of the plan. It worked if the way everyone was looking at you with interest was any indication.
"Oh, I'm so into it!" Kingo said loudly "which team I’m in?"
"Mine" Ajak said, taking the man's hand before you could react.
"Hey! That's not fair, we said we'd leave Kingo last" you complained with a pout
"What? And why me last?!" he asked indignantly
"Because you're the one who already has the entire wedding planned" you said "and we both want that wit on our team"
That seemed to calm the man, who stood a little taller with pride, not noticing the sarcasm in your voice, Ajak's eye roll, or Thena's wicked grin. Always go for the ego.
"So what about the rest of us?" Sprite asked
"I want Ikaris" you said
"No, we don't want Ikaris" Druig protested.
"Yes we do" you replied
"No, we don't want him, we want Phastos"
"Phastos belongs to me" Ajak said
"Why?!"
"Because Y/N already took Gilgamesh"
"Sorry, weren't you fighting over Sersi?" Thena asked smiling
“We weren’t fighting” your girlfriend frowned
"Yes we were, and she's mine" you said, taking Sersi's arm
"No, no, if I'm going to be on Ajak's team, I need Sersi too" Kingo said, taking her other arm.
"Then I want Ikaris!"
"We don't want Ikaris!"
"ENOUGH!"
They all jumped up and looked at Ajak with a bit of embarrassment. You had to hide your smile and squeeze your legs a bit to calm the growing heat between them (that woman was fucking sexy when she got bossy, ok?!) while the prime eternal looked at them all with amusement.
"Obviously we need a peaceful solution to this. I don't want wars in my marriage proposal" she said, sounding a little too proud about the last words.
"Okay, okay, I have an idea" you said "Since it's evident that hunting them down one by one didn't work...how about you have the thinkers and I have the fighters?"
"I like it, except for one problem" your girlfriend said
"Which is?"
"I want Thena"
"Yes, as her best friend, I'm going with Ajak" Thena said
"Okay, then I'll trade her for Phastos" you said.
"You talk about us as if we were trading cards" the inventor said amused
"And I want Gilgamesh" the blonde said
"Give me Sersi" you crossed your arms, making the young woman smile at you, probably grateful for not only being taken into account but apparently being one of the most coveted.
"Didn't you want Druig?" Sprite asked
"I don't want to be on the same team as Ikaris" Druig replied
"I'm not even going to pretend that it hurt me" the flyer smiled
"Give me Sersi and you have Gilgamesh" you said
"Done" your girlfriend smiled
"But we are 5 and you are 6" Sprite intervened
"Ikaris and Sersi are on the same team, they'll probably get lost in each other's eyes, and Kingo and Y/N are a mess together, we're really only up against Phastos and Makkari" Druig sneered.
"Pfff, that's because you haven't seen Kingo, Makkari, and me drunk and wanting to embarrass Ajak" you smirked
"We have this won!" Kingo said, giving you a high five
"No one is going to get drunk!" the prime eternal said, a little worried and blushing
"I don't tell you what strategies to use with your team!"
She tried to give you a serious look as she crossed her arms as well, but it only lasted a few seconds before she laughed and shook her head affectionately.
"So, is it agreed?" Sprite asked, oddly enough, she looked quite invested in this.
"No, wait, how much time do we have?" Phastos asked
You and Ajak looked at each other, you hadn't thought of that. If you were being honest, you really didn't even expect your girlfriend to go along with the silly game, or that the others (besides Kingo, Makkari, and Thena) would actually want to participate, so you hadn't bothered to think of a date.
"Well...in two months it's the anniversary of having met you" Ajak smiled at you
You smiled back and took her hand to kiss her knuckles gently. The heat that she aroused in you (and not just the sexual kind) was immense and despite all the games and jokes, you really looked forward to marrying her.
"Okay, before you get too cutesy and I get diabetes" Thena scoffed "we're all in agreement, we have two months to plan the best proposal"
"And the winner has honeymoon rights and future baby names" Kingo smiled
"Yeah, it's a deal" you said
"Will you ever tell us how you met?" Sprite suddenly asked
You looked at Ajak and wrapped one of your arms around her waist, pulling her close to you as she placed a hand on your shoulder and gazed at you lovingly.
"Nope" you both said at the same time
The other Eternals complained and you and your girlfriend laughed. You put a lock behind her ear and caressed her cheek softly before giving her a sweet kiss.

Neon Genesis Evangelion 23
"Heads up, NERV, becuase the 16th Angel is going to bring you down! That's right, you may have defeated all those other Angels, but I'm even stronger than all of them put together! I'm like a laser rope or something, and I've got creepy powers that let me burrow under people's skin or whatever. Oh, and those big guns your Evas use? Big deal! Those don't work on me! Now, take your best shot, humans, because it's the only chance you're gonna... wait."
"Kid, are you okay? Uh... don't you want to shoot at me or something?"
"Ma'am, I think the red one's having some kind of problem, maybe you could send out... Ma'am? Hello?"
"Uh... maybe I should come back tomorrow? Is that okay? Yeah, we'll pick this up some other time. Uh... sorry about... whatever just happened. Yeesh."
So Asuka is doing... well, I wouldn't call it "okay", but she's playing video games all day and spending every night at her friends' house. I mean, there's probably worse ways to cope with everything she's been through.
The SEELE group is mad at Gendo Ikari for several reasons, but most recently he lost the Lance of Longius during the most recent Angel battle, and they seem to think it's extremely important to their future plans. Gendo argues that the top priority of NERV is to destroy the Angels, and the Lance was the only way to do that. But they don't see it that way. During this little conference, another Angel is sighted over Tokyo-3, so Gendo excuses himself to deal with that. Meanwhile, SEELE openly worries that Gendo will betray them soon.
Let me try to summarize what I know about these guys. They seem to have something called the "Dead Sea Scrolls", which apparently allows them to predict certain future events. It occurred to me today that the name "Dead Sea Scrolls" may be a reference to the site of Second Impact, since Admiral Clownshoes once compared the waters of post-Impact Antarcica as a literal "dead sea".
Anyway, the SEELE plan apparently is their agenda to guide humanity beyond the dangers predicted in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The NERV Agency is charged with executing that plan, and SEELE also seems to believe that the Lance of Longius is critical to their success. They also think there should be at least eight Eva Units active.
But Gendo Ikari can barely keep three Evas in the field at the same time, and he seems to think that the only one he absolutely needs is Unit 01. So SEELE is mad about the destruction of Units 03 and 04, and the Lance being chucked into outer space, but Gendo Ikari considers this acceptable losses.
SEELE's dilemma is that they don't like or trust Gendo, but they have no alternative but to let him run the show. He's the only one who can, and yet they seem adamant that they understand the situation better than he does. Recently, they tried to turn Admiral Clownshoes against Gendo, but nothing came of it, so now they need another pawn to use against him. This turns out to be Ritsuko Akagi, so seems to be a better choice, since she actually knows more about what's going on.
So with the 16th Angel headed their way, the only one ready to fight it is Rei in Unit 00. Shinji is set up in Unit 01, but Gendo doesn't want to use him because no one is sure what might happen after that latest incident where Unit 01 went berserk and ate an Angel. As for Unit 02, Asuka suits up one more time to pilot it, but her sync rating has declined to the point where she literally can't operate the Eva anymore. Gendo orders it launched for use as a decoy, but it can't even step off the elevator when it reaches the surface. This doesn't help Asuka's morale at all.
Anyway, I think that's a really cool screenshot of Rei up there. I don't know, she just looks really sharp.
The Angel goes right for Rei, who grab it, but her gun is ineffective, and the Angel sends some sort of creepy veins into her Eva, and then into her own body.
Like Shinji from before, she experiences some sort of vision of another being, which appears in her form. Once again, I can't tell if this is the Angel or her own Eva. It offers to merge with her, and she refuses.
She snaps out of it and realizes that she was the one crying over her loneliness, and not the other she encountered in her mind. I think the Angel's effect on her is supposed to be intensely painful, but Rei's so stoic and unexpressive that she just isn't letting on.
With no other options, Gendo deploys Shinji to assist, but Rei doesn't want to put him at risk, so she activates some sort of self-destruct on her Eva. She refuses to abandon the Eva, because she needs to stay with it to maintain its AT field. I'm not sure why the self-destruct would work, since Rei already shot the Angel at point-blank range with no effect, but it does destroy the target, so I guess she knows what she's doing.
Ritsuko leads a recovery mission and they find the entry plug from Unit 00, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence of survivors.
Afterward, Misato tries to comfort Shinji but he refuses any affection from her, as it his wont. Then Misato gets a phone call...
And Rei's alive! Suspiciously, she has all the same injuries she had when she debuted in Episode 1, but I don't know if that's supposed to mean anything. Shinji thanks Rei for sacrificing Unit 00 to save him from the Angel's powers, but she has no memory of doing that.
Shinji doesn't understand, and she replies that it's "probably because I'm the third one." Hoo-boy.
At her home, Rei... well, a Rei, I suppose... she finds that broken pair of glasses from the time Gendo rescued her from the entry plug. She had kept them as a momento of that day, but now Rei... this Rei... grips them tightly, as though trying to crush them. Then she stops, and starts crying, and she doesn't know why.
Rei's apparent survival does raise some awkward questions. Admiral Clownshoes warns that this might cause problems with SEELE, and Gendo says he's bypassed this by sending them "an alternative."
That is, apparently, Ritsuko, who has been brought before SEELE to answer their questions in Rei's place. This is sort of like when SEELE questioned Misato a while back, because they wanted to talk to Shinji, and Misato refused to allow it because of his poor mental state. Well, this time Ritsuko is standing in for Rei, probably because Gendo didn't want SEELE to learn more about Rei.
And for some reason, Ritsuko appears to be nude for this interview? I mean, she could be wearing some strapless dress or something. I don't know what the point of this is. Anyway, she acts cool about it until SEELE informs her that Gendo was the one who put her here on the hot seat in Rei's place.
Meanwhile, Misato finally opens that little capsule Kaji gave her the last time they had sex, and it contains a little microchip. His voice mail to her said that he had sent her the same information at least thirty-six ways, but he knew most of them wouldn't make it. Presumably, this was the one that got through. I had wondered why Misato hadn't bothered to follow up on Kaji's investigation of NERV's secrets, and it looks like she's been too busy grieving over him to get to this point. So it looks like she's finally ready. Maybe Rei's miraculous survival was what tipped the scales.
Later, Ritsuko calls Shinji and takes him down to the bowels of NERV headquarters, but Misato shows up to meet them and pulls a gun on Ritsuko. Misato wants to see the secret for herself, and Ritsuko agrees, if Shinji can come along. Misato's fine with that, so off they go.
She takes them to a room that looks a lot like Rei's apartment, and Ritsuko explains that Rei grew up in that room. Then she shows them a chamber full of failed Eva models, including the one Shinji's mom was working on when she died. Apparently Shinji doesn't remember that he saw her die, but Ritsuko tells him he was there when it happened.
Then she takes them to the room where Rei would soak in that tube full of Tang. As I thought, this is how they made the Dummy Plug, but it's more than just recording Rei's brain patterns.
All around the room is a big tank full of Reis. I kind of saw this coming, but still, this is pretty creepy.
What's extra creepy is how they all open their eyes and smile at Shinji when he says their name. Ritsuko explain what they are and what they're for, but I don't really get it. Let me just transcribe the subtitles:
"Right, this is the production factory. These are all dummies. They are also replacement parts for Rei. Man found God, and they tried to pick him up. For that Man was punished! That was fifteen years ago, and the God they found disappeared. Then Man tried to resurrect God with his own hands, and created Adam. From Adam, Man created what resembles God, Himself. That is Eva! We put supposedly mindless human souls in Eva. All the souls were salvaged souls. Rei is the only container that can hold the souls. The souls are born only in Rei. The Room of Guaf is empty. These are empty containers. They have no souls. So, I want to destroy them because I hate them."
Ritsuko triggers some sort of destruct mechanism that causes the Rei bodies to disintegrate. As they die (?), Ritsuko explains that she was willing to endure any humiliation for Gendo Ikari, but in the end, he would always prefer "these dolls" over her.
And she knew it would be this way, because she was there when her mother tried to win Gendo's heart, and ended up destroying herself because she couldn't win over Rei. I guess Ritsuko also had the hots for Gendo? She might be speaking in a more platonic sense, I don't know. The point is that all her years of loyal service to Gendo are meaningless, and he'll sell her out to protect Rei in a heartbeat.
That's what she realized in the SEELE conference, so I'm not clear on what exactly went on there. Did they punish her for the loss of Unit 00? Was that why Gendo sent her in Rei's place? Is that why Ritsuko was nude? In any event, Ritsuko's finally decided she's had enough, so she's turning on Gendo, at least as far as destroying all the spare Reis and showing Misato and Shinji all the super secret stuff.
The thing is, does that even matter? I mean, Gendo's no dummy. He probably betrayed Ritsuko this way knowing she would turn on him like this. For all we know, this is part of his plan. Maybe that's why Ritsuko starts crying, and why she pleads for Misato to kill her.
Misato declines to shoot Ritsuko, and considers that the tragedy of this whole project lies in its people, including herself.
So... yeah. NERV has been mass-producing Rei for years, and I think it's reasonable to assume Rei is at least partially based on Yui Ikari. I'm not sure that Gendo is like, in love with the clones or something. The Akagis may have been frustrated that he likes Rei more than them, but I think it's more of a situation where Gendo is too fixated on his work to love any woman, even a woman who helps him with his work. And the work is embodied by Rei so that's why he gets along so well with Rei. I guess.
The next episode looks forward to the final battle against the 17th Angel, which is supposed to be the last one, but apparently they still haven't finished Episode 24, since the preview is all rough sketches and animation layouts. I guess we'll see what we see...

Is this forever? (Run part 3)
Request(?: @the-camiluchaa said “Great writing! Do you think is gonna be part 3? I would love that, full of action😍“ and I miss Ajak, so of course I did!
Note: I had written this and had more action in it! I was so inspired and then it got deleted!! I don't know how it happened, but it just didn't save after I saved it! So, here's a quick chapter i came up with just right now. I felt really bad after it did not save, that i just wanted to post something tonight since I had planned to do so. T-T
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Pairing: Ajak/F!Reader

Part 1 Part 2
The ambiance upon arriving to the Peruvian Amazonia in your search for Druig was heavy. You kept close to Ajak, avoiding Ikaris as much as you could. Sersi tried to keep her distance and remain composed around him. She was doing amazing and you were so proud of her. On the other side, Kingo and Sprite had been at it for hours. You had forgotten how much Kingo liked to tease everybody, and it was getting to Sprite leaving her in a moody state. It was better to keep close to Ajak, who was looking after Thena along with Gilgamesh.
It was strange to see a village stuck in time, clearly under the influence of Druig. It didn’t take long to find him. And the awkward silence of the first two minutes in that chapel felt like an eternity. Until he spoke, and then Ajak revealed everything. He took it far better than you did, but it was going to take some time to convince him to join you.
“I’m not going to say anything other than I knew you were wrong.” Druig states directly to Ajak.
Ikaris gets up and gets on Druig’s face
“You have no idea what you are talking about.”
“You always wanted to be mother’s favorite. Yet, it seems she has chosen someone else.” Druig nods towards you.
You close your eyes in annoyance, but say nothing to avoid upsetting Ajak some more. If only Druig knew the whole truth, if only everyone else did like Sprite and Sersi do. Ajak was still protecting Ikaris.
You disperse to cool off after Druig, Kingo, Ikaris and Ajak got into a heavy discussion that had nothing to do with Tiamut.
“Do you think he can do it?” you ask.
Both you and Ajak were sitting against a tree not far from Gil and Thena.
“I believe his power is strong enough to put Tiamut to sleep.”
“What happens if he can’t do it?”
“He will. I think he-”
A distant screech cuts her off, and you both immediately stand to your feet. You look at each other for a moment focusing all your senses on the distant sounds. Suddenly, you watch Ikaris being dragged by a deviant and your fighting mode activates as you begin to duplicate.
“Go with Thena!”
You shout before both you and Gilgamesh go to Ikaris aid.
You slam against the deviant and send it a few meters far away from all of you. You try to go again with a kick, but the deviant senses your cosmic energy and charges back to Gilgamesh and Ikaris. You and your replicas end up colliding into thin air. You are quick to respond and charge back to help them both, but Gilgamesh intends to take the deviant himself in a one on one match. You try to help, but soon are distracted by Ajak’s voice.
“Thena… remember who you are.”
You hear her soothing voice and turn to find her with her hands up in the air channeling cosmic energy. Similar to the lights forming on Thena’s face. You worry as you send your replicas after the deviant, and making your way back to Ajak. It is difficult to control both your main power and your focus on helping Ajak. You can feel it wavering as you get closer to her, slowly as to not scare Thena.
“Ikaris…” you say never looking away from both Ajak and Thena. “Help Gilgamesh.”
You see him debating for a moment and you start to lose patience.
“Go with Gilgamesh.”
You repeat yourself noting how Thena is struggling against her illness.
“I follow no orders from you.”
He says before getting in the middle of Ajak and Thena, finally getting her to act out and lose herself. They start fighting each other as Ikaris tries to stop Thena, and she tries to murder him. You feel your cosmic energy expand out your body as your replicas disperse into two directions: to help Gil and to help Ajak as you try to keep both Ikaris and Thena to stay alive as well. And it is chaos.
Your head feels like breaking into three different sections, and you are everywhere at once trying to make sense of every situation. You notice that at least five replicas are helping Gil, and three are taking Ajak further into the forest hiding from the spot that has now turned into a battle camp. You mediate between Ikaris and Thena. Suddenly, he hears something and takes off. Leaving you now with the death stare from Thena. And she comes at you at full speed with sword in hand. You have no time to think and your replicas come back to you as you try to keep Thena from hurting you and hurting herself. You barely make it the first time, but the second time she gets you with her sword piercing your stomach. And you feel the air leaving your body as the thrill sends a shiver all over your body. Pain and panic take over as you try to stay focused everywhere.
You prepare to die as Thena dematerializes her sword, expecting her to summon something bigger to end you. It never comes, instead she stands there blinking several times trying to remember something as she stares at something behind you. And in a matter of seconds she turns around with tears in her eyes, lights still forming in her eyes. Then, you see Gilgamesh being held by the deviant as it drains his cosmic energy. You try to rush to his aid, but stumble on your feet before a single replica takes after him. But it’s too late, and you watch as Thena kneels in front of Gil. In a matter of seconds, everything turns black.
_ ✽ _
The first thing you notice upon waking up is how humid your surroundings feel. Your senses spread to the rest of your body as cosmic energy still lingers there. Ajak is holding you, her face is stained with tears, and you can feel them on your face as well. She is not looking at you, instead, her broken gaze lies elsewhere. Sitting up the first thing you notice is a platinum shape; it is Thena. You get up immediately, as you remember the final encounter with the deviant. Thena sobs on the ground with her forehead pressed against Gil’s, and you confirm that he has in fact passed. No. He was murdered. Looking around you take notice of everyone else's presence with the exception of Druig. Your eyes search for that one eternal in the crowd, and when you find him a fire is set ablaze within your core. A new found rage fills your soul, and you march towards Ikaris before slamming him into a tree. This catches Thena’s attention.
“Y/N! Don’t!” Ajak rushes in your direction with pleading eyes.
“This is all your fault!” You yell out as you place your hands on his shoulder with a tight grip keeping him from escaping.
“I was just trying to help everyone else.” The words slide out his mouth with bitterness.
“No. You know what you did. It is your fault that that deviant got what it wanted.” Your furious eyes look into his icy cold ones. “Why don’t you tell them the truth?” You whisper the last part.
Ajak looks away as Sersi steps closer with tears forming in her eyes. Nobody else knows the truth other than Sersi and Sprite.
“Tell them… tell them how you tried to kill her!” The sound of your voice pierces through the forest like a thunder. “Tell them how you took Ajak to that lake with your big lies only to try to get her killed by the same deviants. How you planned for us… for ME to find her body there. All because she changed her mind about this mission.” You press him harder against the tree.
Nobody talks for a moment, but you notice everyone has gathered around keeping some distance from the both of you.
“Is this true?” Kingo asks.
Ikaris remains in silence giving the confirmation that Kingo needs.
“You don’t do that.” He says in all seriousness. “You don’t do that to family. Even if we don’t agree with their newfound plans or beliefs, we don’t harm our family.”
“He plans to get rid of everyone that comes between Arishem and his mission. He is just waiting for the right moment. And Gilgamesh was the first to pay for this.”
As you say the last part Thena gets up summoning her weapon. Ikaris pushes you away with force before taking flight. And you swear that for a moment you saw his beams forming in his eyes.
“Coward!” Thena yells out after him.
“Wait! Take me with you!” Sprite says before materializing into an illusion of hundreds of bees as they both escape.
“They’ll come back.” Thena states.
“And when they do.” You reply.
“We’ll be waiting.” She finishes.
You go towards Ajak, who in the middle of the argument left to kneel beside Gilgamesh. Thena returns as well, and they both weep for him. The others remain talking about Sprite’s sudden betrayal. Your arms come to wrap around Ajak from behind as you place your head on her back offering support. She turns in your embrace and cries into your arms as you rock her gently in soothing and consoling motions. The sight is heartbreaking and as soon as Druig shows up a funeral is prepared.
_ ✽ _
Nobody sleeps that night as thousands of questions and thoughts from the events of the day swirl in their minds. Somewhere during the night, you find Ajak staring at the ceiling wide awake, unable to sleep just like you.
“Have you spoken to Arishem?” You ask softly.
Ajak turns to look at you slightly taken aback. “No.”
You keep staring at her waiting for an explanation.
“Every time he just informs me when the emergence will occur… and there is nothing else he needs from me. My deed is done… and that’s it.” She says lost in thought.
“Have we ever been like this?” You finally ask. “In our past lives?”
She looks at you for a moment choosing her words carefully. “No. This is the first time I experience this.”
For some reason you don’t feel sad about your past life knowing you didn’t have to suffer for Ajak at the end of times.
“But,” she continues “You are new to my missions.” She manages a gentle smile.
And you can see how she tries to smile through her tired eyes as well before you fully digest the new information.
“Wait… do you mean what I think you mean?”
Ajak nods. “This is the first time we met… so, it’s really nice to meet you.”
Tears cloud your eyes at the realization of how much Ajak has changed thanks to you.
“What was it like for you?”
“It was different… from all the times I had done this. Some come and go, and that’s alright. But you have a passion that is so unlike everyone else’s.” She makes sure to stare deep into your eyes. “I told you this before; you make your own rules. And also,” she pauses to give you a flirty look. “You are the first one to look at me like this.”
You chuckle before getting closer to kiss her lips.
“Do you think this is our last night like this?” You ask her.
“No, I know it’s not. I have faith in Druig.”
“And then what will happen?”
“And then… we wait.”
“For what?”
“Arishem.”
“Do you have any idea-”
“We’ll sort this out. And we’ll warn everyone else in this whole universe.”
And you take her word seriously putting all your trust in her, so you nod once and kiss her sweetly before trying to rest.
_ ✽ _
As promised, during the emergence Ikaris and Sprite show up. You duplicate as soon as you see him, you launch at him with your replicas surrounding him and taking turns in puching him around. The look in his face when he corned Ajak in that cliff, her face at the realization of what was happening, Sersi's tears for him, Druig's and Gilgamesh's death, all of that is coming back to you. The pain he has caused you and your family is all coming out at this moment in the form of revenge.
After he takes down the domo, and Thena joins in the fight. You are sure that you will get him this time, at least the satisfaction of seeing him in this position is almost enough. You want more, and so does Thena as she goes for the last deviant. You have no idea how many times all of you have taken Ikaris down only for him to get back up and attack you. Ajak has been holding on her own very well, with Phasto's techonology you've been able to fight beside her. But the fear you feel as Ikaris goes after Sersi is huge, some part of you knows that he is incapable of hurting her. And it is confirmed when she completes the final puzzle and is able to continue with your plan; killing Tiamut with her bare hands and your power convined.
The glorious victory against them only makes the promise of being with Ajak forever more real and emotional. You embrace her as soon as Tiamut remains frozen in time. Your lips reach for each other and seal your forever with a passionate kiss in the presence of the celestial as you still feel its power connected to you. It feels like nothing but pure bliss, you have not just gained your ever after with Ajak, but you have saved this world and all its wonders. You celebrate your victory with the love of your life and your family. And soon you find yourself in another adventure with Ajak as both of you leave to explore the universe in search of others.
“Will you miss this world?” You ask before you leave the planet Earth’s atmosphere.
“No, I have everything I need here with me.” She smiles as she pulls you close.
“I feel the same way.” You grin with your eyes. “I’d follow you ‘til the end. Whenever that is.”

Love your work. I am always excited to read your next masterpiece. What about a story where Thena and Ikaris get trapped in something (like an indestructible elevator made by Phastos) and while the two are (more than likely fighting) in there, Girl is trying to get Thena out.
Unbearable silence hovered between Thena and Ikaris as they stared each other down after yet another sparring match. It was a rough one today, both of them going at it a little harder than necessary. There hadn't been an attack in a few days, leading them to have some pent up energy.
Thena in particular was crackling with even more temper than usual.
"That's it," Ikaris panted, his chest heaving within his armour. The training arena was a wreck around them. Phastos would have their heads. "Done for the day."
"Fine," Thena acquiesced. It was the only indication that she was as spent as he was, although even she was breathing slightly heavier than normal.
Ikaris just nodded, dragging himself closer to the door. Thena matched him step for step. He clenched his teeth in his jaw, "do you mind?"
"This is the exit," she snarled right back at him. It wasn't her fault that their minds were woven from the same cloth. "Ever heard of ladies first?"
"Is there one present?" Ikaris snarked right back at her. He predicted a wild swing from Thena and floated up and out of its way. It collided with the controls for the door. "Oh-"
"Fuck," Thena sighed, watching the control for the door's automation spark and hiss at them from the damage. She looked up at Ikaris, "this is your fault."
"My-?!" Ikaris glared down at the Warrior Eternal, who was acting like she had pointed out something obvious (instead of accusing him baselessly!). "You insufferable-!"
Thena growled, keeping Ikaris away from her with one hand as she tried to pry the door open with her sheer strength with the other. But it was locked by hydraulics, and she couldn't get her fingers into the seam of the door and its frame anyway. She pounded on the reinforced metal of it. "Hello?!"
"That's your big idea?" Ikaris finally landed, still giving her the stink eye as he stood beside her. "Yelling for help?"
Thena stood back, holding up her hands to let him have at it, "by all means, oh-great Soldier Eternal."
He sneered at her. He made a few attempts at punching it in, the prying it open as she had. He charged his eyes. "Stand back."
She didn't.
Ikaris flinched as the Cosmic Energy of his lasers was neutralised and dispersed against the door. Phastos had reinforced everything in the training arena located in the bowels of the Domo. He had to, lest some collateral damage extend into an engine room or a vent system.
"Yes, that was so much better than my attempts."
Ikaris's nostrils flared and he could feel his veins pulsing in his head. How his sister in arms angered him. "Someone will come to find us."
Thena gave him an even look. Not even disbelieving or disdainful, just an honest look. "Will they?"
Well, perhaps she had a point. They were still getting used to each other as a team, and they in particular were known for being...a little much. Specifically when it came to sparring. And the rest of the family knew that they had been wound up without an attack to fight off.
Ikaris sighed, stepping back from the door, "maybe if we scream loud enough in our heads Druig will hear us."
Ikaris drifted away from the door out of agitation. Thena put her hands on her hips, staying rooted on the spot. The door was the enemy, and she was going to keep it in her sights, it seemed. "S'not goin' anywhere."
Thena remained, though, staring at the blank surface of it. Her fingers tapped on the plating sitting around her hips that held the swaying and swishing fabric between her legs.
"Thena?"
Ikaris' head whipped up, but Thena wasn't surprised at all. Had she been expecting him? "Gil--that you?"
"The door won't open."
Ikaris half expected Thena to point out how obvious - needless - that statement was.
But she stepped closer to the door as she spoke, "there was an...incident."
"Thena broke it," Ikaris corrected her earlier statement. She elbowed him in the side for it, but he took it for what it was. "Can you get the door open?"
"I can try."
Thena and Ikaris stood back slightly as they heard what must have been Gilgamesh starting to try and pull the door open by bending the frame away from it.
"If anyone can get us out, it's Gil."
Ikaris was surprised by the sheer and honest faith in Thena's voice as she said it. He was so used to Thena being prickly and unbearable. He could forget that she was, in fact, a real person and not a walking blade.
"Phastos probably could."
She didn't even snap at him for his disagreement with her. She was anxiously waiting for moment Gilgamesh could break through the barrier between them.
"I'm afraid I'm going to damage the wall structure," Gil called out from his side. "I'm going to try and kick the door in. Stand back, Thena!"
Ikaris rolled his eyes; he was in here too, he could remind them. Not that it mattered to those two. Very little mattered to them when they were together. It was baffling to him, and every time he asked Sersi she would just laugh it off.
Thena turned to the side as they prepared for the door to sail past them. Their ears popped as they felt the air compressing in reaction to Gil's energy charging. Not all Eternals had the benefit of such an ability. For many of them, their energy levels simply were what they were--they had limits. But Kingo and Gil - and even Druig - could build and build and build their own Cosmic Energy unto itself.
Ikaris watched as the door flew through the air like it was nothing at all. It had some of its machinery still attached to it as it blew past them and to the far side of the room.
"Thena!" the Strongest Eternal rushed into the room, immediately looking at his fighting partner, "you're okay!"
"Everything is fine," she offered him one of her rare smiles, walking right over to him. "Although someone will have to tell Phastos about the damages in here."
Ikaris was ready to declare that he would not be that someone.
But Gil put a hand on his chest, looking at Thena with warm eyes, "I'm the one who broke the door in. I'll tell him it's my fault."
Such a softie. Ikaris took to the air again, rolling his eyes at his sister and her...Gilgamesh. "You two have fun with that. I'm on watch."
The other two Fighters watched him go, floating needlessly a few inches off the ground and down the hall. Gil put a hand on Thena's back as they headed out themselves, "how did this happen?"
The Warrior Eternal shrugged, although her smile was a little sheepish, "I was aiming for Ikaris, but it seems I have become...predictable."
"Maybe he's just an easy target," Gil chuckled, earning a quiet laugh from her as well. "You feel better after getting it outta your system?"
His understanding of her never ceased to bring a certain peace over her. "I do."
"Good," he nodded with a grin, "because dinner's almost ready and you're going to test everything for me first."
#Thenamesh AU#early days Thenamesh I think#after first settling but before Babylon#everyone knows to stay out of their way#they get cranky when there's nothing to fight#so they start fighting each other#y'know--like little kids stuck inside on a rainy day#this is prime brother&sister dynamic for them#I really do believe that these two would just be so petty with each other#like they're the Warrior and Soldier Eternal#two of Arishem's strongest#and Thena's like#hey...Ikaris...look at me...BITCH#poor Ajak here like why did I get the grown ass children

Hello :-)
Can I request Ikaris x Human Male Reader? The two have been together for a long time but the two have not had sex yet. Male Reader is jealous of Sersi because Ikaris is upset that she is dating Dane. An argument ensues where the Male Reader lets out all his anger. To tease Ikaris, he says "I don't seem to turn you on enough." Ikaris then shows the Male Reader how much he turns him on. Heavy Smut ahead ;) Top Ikaris, Bottom Male Reader. Male Reader calls Ikaris Daddy. The next day, the two meet up with the others and Druig notices that the Male Reader is limping a bit. the others tease the Male Reader a bit. Thanks in advance
It doesn't have the next day part in it, but I hope you still like it!
“I just don’t understand why you care so much,” you said after you settled into your couch after getting home. You have been watching him pace around for a few minutes now, and after the long, exhausting, day you had at work, you just wanted to relax, but watching him stomp around wasn’t helping with the relaxation process.
“I just don’t get it!” He seethed, running a hand through his hair in anger. He had a wild look in his eye.
“I don’t either,” you said under your breath, but he still heard you. Stupid super hearing.
“What?” The look in his eye softened when his eyes met yours, but he kept up his pacing.
“Why can’t you just be happy for Sersi? Am I not enough for you?” Your words brought his steps to a halt. He was up in your space immediately cupping your face in his warm hands.
“You are! You are! Why would think-” a look of realization struck his face and he let go of you and threw himself onto the opposite end of the couch.
It was really no surprise to you or any of the Eternals that Sersi and Dane were together. Really, it was a long time coming, and you were happy to finally see them together. When Ikaris learned of this, he was sent into a spiral that you had to talk him through.
A part of you could understand his reaction, he and Sersi had known each other for centuries, it was no surprise that feelings were developed. You had Ikaris had been in a relationship for a while, and when that small voice in your brain would make the comparison of the two relationships, you couldn’t help being insecure.
It was almost a weekly thing now: you coming home to Ikaris in a mood because of Sersi and Dane. You were tired.
You tried to get up and go to your bedroom, but when you passed in front of him, you were pulled into his lap.
“You are enough,” Ikaris placed two warm hands on your face to force your eyes to his.
You shrugged off his hands, “do I just not turn you on enough?” You asked, not keeping the anger out of your voice.
Ikaris moved his hands down to place a tight grip on your hips, “do I need to show you?” He asked, his voice gone husky.
You pulled yourself from his lap and walked down the hallway to your bedroom, “if it’ll stop you from being so pissy all the time,” you called behind you. Without bothering to see if he was following you, you began pulling your clothes off, trying your best to throw them in a neat pile beside your bed. By the time you were fully naked, Ikaris stood in the doorway to your bedroom, watching you with a gaze that made you shiver.
Without a word, he come into the room and started slowly undressing while you lounged against the pillows. You had seen Ikaris naked a few times now, but this felt different, more charged.
You watched as his cock bobbed in the air between his legs as you took the few steps to retrieve the lube and join you on the bed. “Not even going to kiss me first?” You blinked up at him innocently when lubed up his fingers.
When he moved down to press his lips to yours, you found yourself in the same familiar position with your legs spread and his weight on top of yours. It’s not that you didn’t want to have sex with him, it’s that you just hadn’t yet. His tongue was dipping into your mouth when his first finger pressed against your hole. There were many times that you found yourself looking at his hands and wondered how those fingers would feel inside of you.
Good, it turns out.
The first pressed in slowly and you groaned at the feeling. It wasn’t the first time you were fingered, though they were usually by your own fingers, and not Ikaris’ perfectly-long-thick finger that was stretching you open.
When you both ended the kiss to gasp for air was when his second finger joined the first. It was uncomfortable at first, the burn of his fingers scissoring you loose, and Ikaris could read so on your face.
He peppered your face with wet kisses at the sight of your discomfort, and fuck if that didn’t make you feel better. His two fingers brushing against your prostate also helped too.
“Ikaris! Daddy!” You both froze. You both had a look of shock on your face, though Ikaris’ was glowing red before his mouth twisted into a smug look.
“Daddy?” He smirked, pressing his two fingers into your prostate.
You moaned out as the pleasure wracked your body, your cock leaked at the intense feeling. Since he was probably wasn’t going to let you live this down, you might as well give in to it, “please, daddy,” you whimpered out.
“Fuck,” you heard Ikaris whisper under his breath. You hid your face in the pillow beside you. Two could play at that game.
At the sight of your neck, Ikaris swooped down to kiss, bite, and lick at the skin. A third finger joined the two, and when he felt they properly stretched you open, he pulled them out slowly.
Your heart pounded in your chest when his three fingers left. The sight he made between your legs left you breathless. To be able to reduce such a strong man into a panting mess whose eyes watched your every move and he stroked lube onto his cock sparked something inside you.
His eyes locked with yours and the contact never faultered as he thrust his cock slowly into you. You were familiar with how his cock felt in your hands and how it tasted, so you were familiar with its girth and weight. But having it actually inside you felt different. You felt the pulse of it inside you when he bottomed out completely. All of this together was a new sensation you don’t see yourself ever tiring of.
You pulled him down into a wet, sloppy kiss, and wrapped your legs tightly around his waist. You left one hand at the nape of his sweaty neck, and placed the other one his chest to stroke over a patch of hair that dusted the warm skin.
He pulled all the way out and teased your hole with the blunt press of the head of his cock before thrusting it back in. It took a few thrusts to build a steady rhythm, but what came out it had you both moaning in time with his thrusts.
You could feel the hot pressure building in your belly “I’m gonna-” you gasped out, not having the chance to finish before Ikaris was swooping down to claim your mouth in a possessive kiss.
He pulled back to rest his forehead against yours, “cum for daddy,” he panted.
The feeling that took over you had you seeing stars behind your eyes as you threw your head back into the soft pillows behind you, a loud moan leaving your lips. Ikaris answered with one his own as he slammed inside of you and came.
It was like you blacked on for a second because you then found yourself lying on his strong chest, absentmindedly stroking his chest hair with your fingers. Ikaris was also rubbing at your skin with his fingers on your back, you just hoped they weren’t the ones that were just inside you.
Ikaris was the one to break the silence first, “daddy?” he rumbled out, amusement in his voice.
“Can’t hear you, I’m sleeping,” you hid your face in his chest, hoping he couldn’t feel the smile on your lips.

For You (Druig X Reader)
Being Ajak’s right hand, you helped her keep the team balanced in terms of making sure the team was a complete and stable unit. With the ability to see things before they happened and to teleport you were key to winning battles against the Deviants. You led training exercises with Thena and helped make important battle decisions. More importantly you helped make sure things remained calm between everyone, it was vital you worked together as one. These were the most important people in the universe to you so it was bound that certain feelings would arise. Druig. Your heart sped up at the thought of him and the way you would both joke around when no one was watching, the way you would both explore cities. It had taken a few hundred years but soon you were becoming attached to the telepath, his accented voice and quiet nature. During battles you remained close to his side, going out of your way to protect him. He was oblivious to this but Ajak was not, and Sprite as well could see your feelings towards him as hers grew for Ikaris. But you were both on the same boat, the love was one sided.
“My beautiful, beautiful Makkari,” Druig drawled, making Makkari blush as she slid past him, her hands full of books. An uncomfortable tug pulled at your heart as you watched with a broken look. Suddenly you felt a hand on your shoulder, looking up you saw Ajak’s gentle and understanding smile.
“I see the way you look at him,” she murmured, and you looked away in shame.
“No my dear, there is no shame in the love you have for him. I also see that you wish no ill will to their relationship,” she said. Taking a deep breath you tried to hold back tears at her words, you had tried so hard to keep those feelings at bay so as to not make life awkward for you all.
“I love him so much it hurts,” you whispered as she pulled you in for a hug.
“Your love is pure (Y/N) and I have no doubts you’ll find someone else who will love you just as much,” she reassured you. Nodding silently you went off to train with Thena who looked worried at your state but you simply gave her a smile before you began to fight. Soon you came to accept that Druig would not love you back in that way, that your relationship would simply remain platonic forever.
“Good morning (Y/N),” Druig greeted you one morning as you all grabbed breakfast in one of the main halls of Babylon.
“Hello Druig. Sleep well?” you asked as you tossed Kingo a mango, which he caught with a laugh before falling into his seat. Druig rolled his eyes at Kingo’s antics making you elbow him, eyes warning him to be nice.
“I did sleep well actually, Makkari and I stayed up to study the constellations,” Druig replied and you felt your heart lurch.
“Oh, that’s nice. They must be beautiful these days. I wonder how much longer that’ll last as humanity progresses,” you murmured, avoiding his gaze as you caught Phastos’ bowl of porridge from falling before he even saw it happen. Before he could call you out on your change in attitude, Ajak came into the room with a serious look.
“There is a cluster of Deviants a few continents over, not a very large group but they must be destroyed soon. It is not enough to warrant us all to go so Phastos, Sprite, Kingo and I will stay here,” Ajak announced. Kingo pouted at this as Ajak gestured for you and Thena to come forward.
“You will both be in charge, keep each other safe. Ikaris and Makkari will go first to scout and (Y/N) will teleport the rest of the group,” Ajak instructed and you nodded in agreement. With that settled you began to gather the group and prepare to leave within the hour trying to ignore the pit in your stomach. Makkari and Ikaris set off first to set a perimeter around the Deviants. When it was time you held your hands out, Druig and Sersi taking them before holding everyone else's. A light purple glow which matched your armor filled your eyes as you focused and a bright light filled the air before you teleported everyone to your destination. Appearing in a wooded area, you released their hands, immediately missing the feeling of Druig’s hand in yours.
“Ikaris! Makkari!” Gilgamesh called out and soon your teammates appeared before you.
“Any sign of the Deviants?” Thena asked, producing a sword.
“Yes, about half a dozen to the East but a few are quite big. There’s a small group of humans that Druig will need to draw out of the way,” Ikaris reported.
“Sersi go with Druig and make sure he gets the humans to safety. The rest of us will close in on the Deviants in a circular formation to make sure they don’t escape. Any questions?” you said, rolling your shoulders backwards as you brought out your daggers. After thousands of years together this was a routine mission, you all fought well together and with nods you were all off to the battle. You should have listened to your gut feeling, that something would go wrong, should have admitted your feelings to Druig long ago, should have done more, appreciated life more but none of that mattered in the end. The battle was at its height, Deviants were being destroyed left and right, everyone fighting in sync to bring them down. You had just cut one’s head off by teleporting onto its neck when you felt the shift in the air and tingle up your spine. It was Makkari. Makkari was a true speedster but sometimes in her speed she could lose sight of the things around her, so when she didn’t notice the Deviant behind her in the shadows you felt the shift in the air and predicted the moment it would strike and teleported yourself in between them before you could think straight. A strangled cry left your lips as it’s sharp tail impaled your chest before retracting forcefully. In an instant Ikaris had sent rays of energy at it and Thena stabbed it through its chest with a warrior’s cry.
“(Y/N)!” Druig screamed as he ran forward to catch your body before it hit the floor, Makkari standing there in shock as Sersi let out a gasp at your fallen body.
“Oh oh,” Druig stammered as the seriousness of the wound became clear, your flesh was torn and blood streamed out like a river as you cried out once more. The others ran forward to gather around you, eyes wide in shock.
“We need to get her to Ajak,” Ikaris snapped. Druig tried to shift you enough to lift you but you let out a scream of pain, clutching a hand to your wound.
“If you move her it will do more damage,” Thena warned from Gilgamesh’s side.
“We can get the Domo here, someone contact Phastos!” Druig snapped.
“It won’t get here on time,” you finally spoke up, tears streaming down your face as you let out weak gasps of air.
‘Let me take you’, Makkari signed but you shook your head softly.
“I wouldn’t make the trip if you or Ikaris tried,” you murmured as you signed back to her slowly. Eyesight going hazy you forced yourself to try and teleport but as soon as your body began to blur your abilities failed. You were too weak to even teleport yourself and you let out a pitiful sob. There was a thick silence in the air as the Eternals all looked at each other, feeling so helpless. But there was something nagging at the back of their minds, you had put yourself in front of Makkari, to save her knowing what would happen. You had foreseen your own demise today and flung yourself into it willingly.
“Why did you do it?” Druig cried as he placed a hand on your hair, smoothing it back. You were his best friend, one of the few Eternals he could tolerate and only one of two he liked and here you were dying in his arms. A short laugh left your lips as if it was the most obvious answer in the world, and you tried to ignore the blood that seeped out of your mouth.
“For you,” you replied, pouring every ounce of love and adoration you had for the Eternal into your words. A look of realization fell over his face as well as the others at your words.
“Can’t we do anything?!” Druig cried as he tried to place his hand over your wound. Sersi shook her head sadly as she kneeled next to him, placing her hand over your cheek.
“I don’t know how,” she whispered with tears in her eyes. As the seconds passed by it was clear nothing could be done, your breaths coming out softer and quieter.
“Protect and love each other,” you whispered weakly, your soft gaze running over their faces, all distraught and full of tears. Giving Druig’s hand one last squeeze you let yourself fall into the darkness, a small smile on your face as your eyes glazed over and you where no more. Druig let out a choked sob as tears ran down his face at the realization of your feelings for him, and now your death.
“We need to take her home,” Thena finally spoke up as Ikaris moved forward to take your body but Druig clutched your body closer.
“No! Bring the Domo here. I’m not letting her go,” he rasped out. Giving you and Druig ample space, Thena took charge as she gave out instructions, trying hard to not let her tears break free.
“If I would have known you felt this way for me dear (Y/N),” Druig whispered staring down at your still face, ignoring the blood smeared on your chin. “I would have made different choices and maybe it would have been different for us. I won’t forget you. Ever,” he finished sadly. There was nothing more to say and when they burned your body later that day, he saved some of your ashes, putting them in a small necklace which he placed over his neck with a grimace. There you would stay by his heart for the rest of eternity.

They deserve it
Anon requested: could you do an Ikaris x Elemental!reader
A/N: Spoilers for the Eternals, obviously. Gender neutral reader.
The readers powers are based on Zephyr, one of the elementals in the comics.
Never in the seven thousand years he was on earth Ikaris had imagined he’d fall in love again. Not after what he had with Sersi, and especially not with a human.
A human, a creature that would only be alive for a fraction of his existence. Yet here you were, he just couldn’t stay away from you, no matter how hard he tried. It took a while but he finally gave into his feelings and let you in. You didn’t seem to be bothered by strange things that sometimes happened, or at least you didn’t mention it. This only calmed him down and almost made him forget about your differences. The only thing that he couldn’t get out of his mind was that one day this planet would be destroyed by the born of a celestial, he could only hope that this would happen long after you were gone.
After months if had finally settled in the back of his mind, until Ajak visited him last night, telling him about the upcoming emergence. “How much time do we have?”
“Seven days.”
“Is there a way we can stop it?”
“There is.” She had told him
“Then we have to try.”
“You changed since the last time we spoke.” Ajak remarked
“They deserve to exist. Y/n deserves to.”
Ajak already left to find the others, but now Ikaris had to tell you that he would need to leave as well.
“Earth to Ikaris.” y/n tried to get his attention.
“Sorry, did you say something?”
“What’s going on inside that head of yours? You’ve been distracted all morning.” The two of you had already planned to go for a walk, but he texted you last night that he wanted to talk. Something that didn’t feel right to you.
“It’s nothing love.” He tried to assure you
“Does it have something to do with what you wanted to talk about?”
“It might.” Ikaris held a little tighter onto your hand, as if you would suddenly disappear if he let go
“Do you want to keep walking or should we sit down somewhere?”
“Your hands feel cold.” He ignored your question “I’ll get you a hot chocolate.” He let go of your hand, making his way to the coffee stand the two of you just passed. You hesitated but didn’t follow him, you waited near the pond looking at the fog that was covering it. You were sunken in thoughts until out of nowhere something seemed to have appeared in middle of the pond.
You looked at it a little too long, noticing to late it was coming for you until you heard Ikaris yell “Y/n, watch out!” You managed to create an air shield between you and the creature. Ikaris hadn’t noticed you did and tackled you out of the way, followed by a surprisingly soft landing.
“What was that?!”
“No time to explain.” Ikaris quickly helped you up onto your feet “You have to go, now!” He urged
“What? No I’m not leaving without you.”
“You have to trust me y/n, I’ll find you when this is over.” He tried to convince you to run, but not a single hair on your head thought of leaving.
“I’m not leaving you behind.”
“Stop being stubborn for once, will you!”
“No I will not!” You yelled back
“I’m serious y/n, this is not a fight for you.”
Before you could respond you could see the creature charging towards the two of you “Ikaris watch out!” He quickly pushed you out of the way and blasted the creature with eyes. ”Your eyes!” You exclaimed but Ikaris didn’t have to react as the creature charged for him again. Instead of waiting again, you blasted multiple air punches before creating an airpocket to hold the creature.
“You…” Ikaris just stared at you. All those little moments in which the wind start blowing the other way, or the air around the two of you
blowing easier than around the rest of the world. It suddenly all made sense.
“No time to freak out.” You tried, but you noticed his look wasn’t one of fright but it was a look of relief.
“You are an elemental.” He finally brought out, a soft smile appearing on his face.
“Yes I am, a little help now please?” As you struggled to keep the deviant trapped. Ikaris blasted the it once more with his eyes, causing it to fall back. Only to crawl back up not more than seconds later “Is it healing itself?” You questioned aloud.
“It looks like it. I need the others to fix this.”
He mumbled more to himself than to you.
“What do you need? Time?”
“To start with.” Ikaris agreed.
It had been a long time since you opened a portal, but you still knew how to do it “Does Antarctica sound like enough time?” You stepped in front of Ikaris
“What? N/n what are you doing?”
“You have to trust me.”
“y/n?” He needed to resist his urge to take you out of the way from the deviant or to blast it once more. It wasn’t until the deviant was right before you that a portal opened and the deviant disappeared. “Where did it go?”
“Antarctica. Hopefully it doesn’t eat penguins.” Ikaris pulled you into a hug, relieved that you were alright. “What was that Ikaris?”
“What you just saw was a deviant, I don’t have the time to explain, but I’ll promise to come back when this is all over.” He pressed a kiss on your forehead before lifting himself in the air.
“Two can play that game.” You lifted yourself up in the air meeting his eye “I’m coming with you.”
“I don’t want you to get hurt n/n.”
“And I don’t want you to get hurt. I’m not sure what we’re up against, but I know the help of an Elemental won’t hurt.”

Your writings are true masterpieces! Would you write a Druig imagine with a mortal Avenger!reader and they’re obviously into each other and it all comes to headway with the reader saving him in the cliche trope of ending up on top of him and being so close you could kiss after pulling them down to save them during a mission?

"i got eyes on the target, cap," you said, your eyebrows furrowing at the…deviants just near times square. last thing you knew was that these deviants were old news and were defeated by the eternals, as fury said when they saw them resurfacing just a few days ago.
"be safe, y/n. we can't have you dying already."
"shut up, i'll see you soon." you told sam your coordinates, before jumping down to deal with the deviant. you drew its attention as you armed yourself, the electricity tingling in your hands as the staff you conjured materialized. "eta?"
"carol and hope are five minutes away."
"okay, five minutes. i got this," you whispered to yourself. you ran up to the deviant, using your staff to jump and bashing the deviant's head. it snarled at you, whipping its tail and making you trip. you cursed under your breath as you got up, breathing heavily. how the fuck is five minutes too long?
"watch out," you were startled, looking at the deviant which was now charging towards you at an unbelievable speed. you looked at the guy who warned you, about to thank him when you cursed, raising your staff once more as you and the guy…wait he's not alone, battled the deviant and tried to immobilize it.
you looked on as these people used powers, but unlike wanda's or the ones used by those that practice the mystic arts. but you couldn't afford to be distracted, but reported to sam what was happening.
"wait, wizards?"
"no," you grunted. "i don't think so. where the fuck are hope and carol?"
"fury told me they're being sent on another mission."
you rolled your eyes. "what? well, i need backup."
"stay safe. bucky and i are on our way, come on buckaroo!"
"don't call me that,"
you laughed, hearing bucky. "yeah, got it, cap. see you!" you ran, helping the man who warned you with the deviant. he shot you a grateful look, your cheeks warm from his intense stare. "thanks for earlier, uh?"
"druig," he didn't know why he was intrigued by you, but he was. he smirked as he controlled some of the people still lurking about, ordering them to run away before asking you. "and you are?"
"y/n," you grinned as you bashed the deviant on the head without looking. sersi and the others looked on in interest, eyebrows narrowing in confusion and amusement as they watched you two. "oh shit, watch out."
druig knew he could easily dodge the deviant but let you push him as you used your staff to distract the deviant, missing your balance and tripping. druig heard an "umph" as both of you fell
on the ground. you winced, closing your eyes, not noticing how you ended on top of druig. druig's hands ended on your waist, his face warm as he realized you weren't in any way leaving. you opened your eyes as it grew wide and stared into his own. your noses were almost touching with the close proximity, the noises buzzing in the background as the others continued to fight the deviant. you watched as druig's gaze moved from your eyes to your lips, making you unconsciously lick your lips. and not even you could comprehend how close his lips were to yours, but the moment was broken with bucky coughing, smirking down at you.
"cozy there, y/n?" sersi and the others looked at the avengers, piecing together how you must have been an avenger yourself. the deviant wasn't defeated, but unfortunately, it left after it was severely injured.
your cheeks were warm as you quickly stood up, offering a hand to druig without fully looking at him. his hand felt cozy on your own as he stood. you stood beside sam as you quickly briefed him and bucky on the situation while druig stood with sersi and the others.
"we need you to come with us," sam said, looking at them. "we need to finish the debriefing, especially with that deviant running loose."
"and why exactly do we need to come with you?" thena said, glaring at him.
"because we don't exactly know how to defeat it," you said, looking at her. "and with what happened today, you guys probably did."
"which reminds me," sam said. "who the hell are you guys?"
"right, we haven't crossed paths." sersi said, taking the lead as she walked to sam, offering her hand. "we're the eternals."
your eyes were wide as you locked eyes with bucky, remembering how you guys were briefed on who the eternals were and what they did to rid the world of deviants. these are the eternals? your eyes, then, traveled to druig who was also looking at you, gauging your reaction.
"so, what now?" you looked back at sam, missing the way druig followed your gaze, eyebrows furrowing. you gestured for him and bucky to come closer, away from the eternals who were all looking at you. "fury will be pissed if the eternals didn't come with us."
"well, you seem to be cozy with one of them," bucky teasingly said, smirking. "why don't you ask them?"
your cheeks warmed at his teasing making you glare at him, sneering at him. "i am not getting cozy with druig. shut up, bucky."
"druig, huh?"
you offered him the finger before walking towards the eternals. you waved at them, smiling. "hi, i'm y/n, i'm an avenger."
"sersi," she said, smiling as she offered you her hand. the others also introduced themselves and you now knew sersi, sprite, thena, ikaris, sprite, kingo, and druig.
"i'm really sorry, but we need you to come with us. our superior warned us about deviants after the sighting and we're gonna need more information on how to defeat them."
"y/n, is it?" ikaris said. "no offense, but we got this handled." he looked at sersi. "we need to go and see phastos. we don't have time for such things."
you furrowed your brows at the way he said that they got it handled. you scoffed, but calmed yourself. "it's official avenger business. we need you to come with us."
sersi looked torn. she understood you but she also understood ikaris. druig saw an opportunity and took it. "why don't i stay?"
"wow, druig, getting it already." kingo said, teasing.
druig, annoyed, glared at kingo who instantly shut up. he turned to you and asked, "do you need all of us? we're kind of in a hurry because of, well, the deviants coming back."
you looked at sam and bucky who tried to look that they weren't listening. you rolled your eyes, pointedly looking at them. "well, cap? you heard him."
"one's fine, i guess. better than nothing."
sersi sighed, but they still have to find phastos and then the domo, and maybe this is good for druig to be around someone who makes him look like a lovesick fool.
"alright," sersi turned to druig. "please leave the emergence out of the conversation. we don't want to alarm the mortals."
"i'll come find you and the others after," druig walked over to you. "shall we?"
"see you, y/n!" sam said, grinning as he and bucky all but ran to the jet they came with. they waved at the eternals who looked amused, before they also left. your jaw dropped as they left you with a smug-looking druig as he watched you.
"well, looks like we're alone, y/n."
"i guess we are," you said, grinning but scowling at sam and bucky who sent you a text to 'enjoy'. "those fuckers. let's just go."
druig smiled, a genuine one, as you both ventured to the avengers compound. well, he could get used to seeing you, maybe even recreate what happened earlier and come through with it.

Golden Light & Shields Chapter 4
Ikaris x Male Reader
A/N: Chapter 4 is finally here.
Y/N watched helplessly as Ikaris was carried away by a Deviant that looked like a bird, or was it a bat? It didn’t really matter at the moment. Y/N twisted in the air so that his face was facing the ground instead of his back. Y/N’s hands glowed red as he held two orbs in his hand and used his telekinesis to slow down his descent. He landed on his feet as Sersi rushed up to him.
“Y/N, where’s Ikaris?”
“A Deviant took him,” Y/N said.
“What?!” she asks him.
“Señorita y Señor? ¿Estás bien?” A man asks as a Deviant comes behind him.
“¡Cuidado!” Y/N says as he brings up a blue shield just in time, as the Deviant was going to kill the man with its stinger. It looks like a giant squirrel. The man runs to safety as a wolf, Deviant, jumps on top of a house as Sersi calls out. “Clear the camp!” The wolf lunges at Sersi, but Y/N catches it in his hands and throws it back as a blast of energy spheres hits the squirrel.
“Get behind me!” Kingo says as he blasts both of the Deviants.
“One of them took Ikaris,” Sersi said.
“It’s an ambush!” Kingo keeps blasting them. He creates a sphere of energy that knocks both of them into a house as it collapses.
“Very nice, sir!” Karun says, rolling the camera behind a tree.
“Are you mental? Hide!” Kingo says.
“We need action sequences. Sir!” The wolf Deviant emerges from the ruins of the house. “Sprite, get Karun out of here,” Kingo says, sending another blast their way.
“How many cameras did you bring, young man?” Sprite ushers Karun to safety.
The squirrel Deviant jumps on a house and uses its tail to knock out a part of the house, revealing a family hiding inside. Y/N rushes towards the creature and creates a bubble shield around the Deviant as he lifts it into the air and slams it against a tree. “Come on! Sersi says ushering the villagers to safety. Kingo blasts the wolf Deviant back as the people follow Sersi. “This way! Quickly! Come on!” The Squirrel creature recovers as it chases after Sersi and the people of this place as it jumps from house to house, closing in on them.
“Get in! Get in!” Sersi hides them inside the building where Druig had talked to them earlier. Sersi uses her matter transmutation powers to turn the wood into metal as the Deviant swipes her away with its tail as she crashes into a nearby house.
Ikaris is flying through the air, the Deviant at his back. He fires his lasers as it slams into him, and the two stumble in midair. The Deviant gets in front as Ikaris chases after it. Gilgamesh and Thena are in the woods, following after Ikaris. A gold light shines on Thena’s face, the Mahd Wy’ry coming to light. Ikaris slams the bat Deviant to the ground and blasts it in the heart as it falls dead. Sharp tendrils pucker Ikaris’s skin as the Deviant from London comes up behind him. Ikaris grunts in pain as he falls to his knees. The Deviant pounces on top of Ikaris as it rolls him onto his back, leaning down to bite him.
“Ikaris!” Gilgamesh says rushing towards Ikaris and the Deviant as he grabs it and throws it off Ikaris. The creature roars as it shoots its tendrils at Gilgamesh, but he leans back so that they miss him. The Deviant grabs a nearby tree trunk with its tentacles and throws it at Gilgamesh, who uses his exoskeleton energy and blocks it. It grabs two more trunks and throws them as Gilgamesh blocks the incoming assaults.
Thena stands there as a gold light snakes across her skin. Ikaris gets up. “I’ve fought that one before. It’s stronger than the others.” Thena forms an energy spear. Ikaris notices and starts moving back. “No.” Thena swings the spear and tries to stab Ikaris as he moves out of the way.
“Terrible timing, Thena,” Ikaris grunts as he dodges Thena’s incoming strikes. “Thena!”
Gilgamesh watches Thena attack Ikaris, but he can't do anything to help as the Deviant charges at him. Gilgamesh charges up an energy fist as he punches the creature back hard enough to break its jaw. The Deviant uses the energy it took from Ajak to heal its injuries. Thena swipes at Ikaris as he dodges it. She forms two swords and brings them down as Gilgamesh blocks them with his energy exoskeleton. “Stop, Thena!” There's a long bang and a rush of air as the two forces collide.
Sersi crawled out of the wreckage of the house as the squirrel Deviant ran towards her. Shots are fired at the Deviant as it turns around and sees the people of this village with shotguns. The creature knocks some of the people away with its tail. Druig grabs a fallen shotgun and dodges the strikes of the beast’s tail as he shoots it in the back with the shotgun. It roars in anger at Druig as he backs away from it. Sersi transforms part of a tree into water as it is cut down and she transforms the rest of the tree into metal as it tips over and falls on the Deviant and Druig as he barely jumps out of the way.
“Druig!” Sersi said.
Y/N speeds over to them. He sees all the innocent people that Druig is controlling. “Let them go,” Y/N says.
“I don’t take orders from you,” Druig said.
“Are you stupid? Let them go right now!” Y/N said.
“Please. I know you’re better than this,” Sersi pleads.
Druig sighs as he holds out a hand and breaks the mind-controlled connection he has on the people. One of the men looks confused. “Druig. qué está pasando?”
“Go! Get to the river!” Druig commands.
The squirrel Deviant crawls out of the tree and roars.
….
Ikaris scans the area, looking at the three Deviants. The bushes are ruffling as the Eternal looks around nervously as he can hear twigs snapping and a growling noise, their eyes glowing as they get closer. “Gilgamesh. A little help here?” Gilgamesh has Thena safe behind a tree, their hands pushed up against each other.
“Stay here,” Gilgamesh says. “Say it.”
“Stay here,” Thena says.
“Good. You’re okay.”
Gilgamesh leaves Thena as she takes a shaky breath.
The Deviant with the tendrils looks at the saber-tooth tiger and griffin Deviants as they run and fly in the direction of the camp. “They’re headed for the camp,” Ikaris realizes. “Y/N.”
“Go. They need you,” Gilgamesh says as Ikaris looks at him. “Go, Ikaris.” Ikaris floats in the air as he blasts off into the air. The head Deviant shoots its tendrils at Gilgamesh as he stomps hard on the ground as little rocks rise and protect him from the attack.
“Sprite, Y/N, somebody buy me some time!” Kingo says as he blasts the incoming wolf, Deviant. He stops and starts charging an energy sphere. Sprite glows as she unsheathes her dagger and jumps on top of the creatures as she stabs it. It violently swings her back and forth. “Whoa. Whoa!” Kingo continues to charge up his attack. “Can you hurry up?”
Y/N uses his telekinesis to hold the Deviant still and keep it from moving. Kingo stores enough power in his hands. “Now!” Sprite pulls her dagger free as she steps back and disappears. Kingo slides underneath the frozen still Deviant. As he points his fingers at its head. “Dishoom!” The blast blows the wolf’s head off as Kingo is covered in Deviant blood. Kingo gasps as it drips down on him as the body falls to the floor with a thud. “Karun! Did you get that?”
“I did, sir!”
Ikaris flies after the Griffin as he grabs it and flies higher into the air and blasts it with his energy beams. Ikaris blasts it again, hitting its wing as it falls out of the sky. He grabs the wing that isn't damaged and throws it to the ground below as he blasts it once more. Ikaris flies and lands just in time in front of the squirrel Deviant as it tries to attack Druig. Ikaris opens its mouth wide as he fires his laser beams into the creature’s mouth full force; it falls to the floor with a thud, but not before trying to stick Ikaris with its stinger. Ikaris grabs it at the last second and falls to one knee as he tosses it to the side.
He pants as he sees the sabertooth charge at Kingo and Sprite as she creates tree illusions. He blasts it with his energy beams. It runs, dodging the attacks as it leaps up and tackles Ikaris into a house. Ikaris groans as the derby falls all around him. Ikaris struggles to get up as the creature swipes him with its paw and he rolls to the leafy ground. Ikaris blasts and punches it as the sabertooth rolls him on his stomach. The Deviant pushes Ikaris’s head down with its giant paw so he can't get a clear shot for his optical blasts. Ikaris struggles, but can't push the creature off of him as it leans in close to take a bite.
“Ikaris!” Y/N says as he runs and tackles the creature off of Ikaris and they both roll to the ground as Y/N stands to his feet and stands in front of the hurt Eternal. The Deviant stands in front of Y/N. The creature looks at Y/N and roars. Y/N looks down at Ikaris, who is bleeding and has holes in the back of his shirt. Y/N glares at the Deviant, his blood boiling as it circles him. “You tried to kill my boyfriend,” Y/N's voice was like venom as a red orb glowed in Y/N’s right hand.
The Sabertooth snarls in response to Y/N as the young Maximoff lifts the creature into the air. “You endangered these people.” Y/N flicked a finger and ripped one of the creature’s limbs off. It roars in pain and anger. Y/N bared his teeth at the Deviant. “You tried to kill my friends.” Another limb went. Y/N’s hand mixed his red and green energies together. “You're never going to hurt anyone ever again,” Y/N promised, and just like Wanda did to Ultron Y/N, pulled on the energy core inside the Deviant, and tugged it forward until it came out of the creature and into Y/N’s body to absorb. Y/N quickly switched to his blue energy as he created a shield inside the Deviant’s body and expanded it until it exploded.
Blood splattered on Y/N’s face and he looked like Carrie White at prom. He wiped the blood from his face as he turned to Ikaris and the other Eternals, who had a look of horror on their faces. Y/N’s eyes were glowing faintly, and he looked confused and disoriented. Ikaris got up and walked towards Y/N.
“Ikaris, don’t!” Sersi warns.
“It’s alright, Sersi,” Ikaris says. “He won’t hurt me.” Ikaris grabs onto Y/N’s shoulders as the younger man looks up at him. “Come back to me, Duckling. Come back to me, Y/N.” Y/N takes a deep breath and closes his eyes for a moment, then opens them as his eyes are back to normal. Y/N frowns. “Iceberg? What’s going on?” Y/N was confused. He remembers standing in front of Ikaris to protect him from the Sabertooth, but after that, he can’t recall what happened.
“Oh, my God! You’re hurt,” Y/N notices Ikaris’s bruises.
“I’m okay, Duckling,” Ikaris said. “Thena and Gilgamesh are in danger.”
“Where are they?” Ikaris points in the direction that they’re at. Y/N nods his head as he runs in that direction. Ikaris floats in the air and turns and looks at his family. “No one tells him anything until I do first,” he warns as he flies after Y/N as the others look at each other, but follow them as well.
….
Gilgamesh punches the Deviant hard enough back that it breaks its arm in the process. Its claws cast a golden light on its injuries as it uses the healing energy it took from Ajak. Gilgamesh gets ready for another attack as Thena begins to glow. Her Mahd Wy’ry coming to the surface. She tries to turn it off. “Stop, stop, stop,” she begs. The Deviant hears her and sets its sights on the more vulnerable victim. Gilgamesh knows this too as he runs towards Thena, hoping he’ll get there first. “Thena!” The creature roars as it almost has the warrior Eternal as Gilgamesh grabs it and pulls it back and slams his cosmic fist into it. The tentacles of the Deviant wrap around Gilgamesh, digging into his skin as they siphon his energy. The Deviant lifts Gilgamesh up and bites his shoulder, its teeth like hot knives in Gilgamesh’s skin. Thena watches helplessly, trying to shut off her psychological affliction.
Gilgamesh tries to break free by punching the beast, but it doesn’t stop the Deviant from sticking a tendril in his neck. Gilgamesh gasps in pain as the creature drains his life energy and powers. A weakened Gilgamesh looks up and meets Thena’s eyes. The goddess of war has never felt so powerless in her life. She had to watch as her friend, her family, was slowly killed. The Deviant throws Gilgamesh to the floor, leaving just enough energy so that it can take the pleasure of snuffing out that last bit of life as it kills him. Thena watched in horror as the Deviant began to transform. Its paws shrink and take on a more human-like appearance.
Thena kneels next to an injured Gilgamesh. “No. Gilgamesh.”
“Stay back,” Gilgamesh weakly says.
The Deviant shifts and changes until it takes on a human-like appearance. It breathes heavily as it speaks for the first time. “Ajak…” It says. “Her memories… I understand now.” The Deviant looks at the two Eternals.
“I can see what she saw. So many planets. So much life is destroyed every time a Celestial is born. Arishem used us and left us to die with each Emergence. We just wanted to survive.” The human-like Deviant glares at Thena and Gilgamesh accusingly. “And then he sent you. I will kill you all for what you have done to my kind. You are not saviors, Eternals. You are murderers.” The Deviant takes a step towards Thena, but Y/N throws it back with telekinesis and Ikaris blasts it. The Deviant turns and runs away as Ikaris and Y/N are about to chase after it.
“Ikaris!” Thena calls.
Ikaris and Y/N turn to see that Gilgamesh doesn’t look so good. He’s breathing laboriously, his energy fading with every second, every time he breathes. He locks hands with Thena, fingers intertwined. “Thena,” he says, it's hard for him to get the words out.
“Hey,” Thena says, feeling tears start to form.
Gilgamesh looks at her, his vision starting to blur. His best friend. The person he promised to look after no matter how tough it got. Even if it cost him his own life in the process; he'd happily do it again. “Remember,” Gilgamesh chokes out, and he doesn't move again as his head is down and his skin turns to a grayish color.
“No,” Thena sobs. “No.” She puts her head on him and begins to wail loudly. “I’ll remember. I’ll remember.” Ikaris looks down at his feet sadly. Y/N looks at Thena rocking Gilgamesh’s body back and forth, crying over her dead partner. The other Eternals walk up to them and see Thena crying over Gilgamesh’s dead body.
“Ajak, you have to help him,” Y/N says.
The head Eternal looks at Y/N, tears in her brown eyes as she says. “I can not heal the dead, Y/N. Even my powers have their limits.”
“But what if I—”
“—Don't you think you've done enough damage?” Druig asks Y/N. A few tear stains on his face.
Y/N frowns. “What are you talking about, Druig?”
“Don't act like you don't know. We all saw what you did to that Deviant.”
“Druig, that’s enough!” Ikaris shouts out.
“I don’t understand.”
“You ripped that Deviant apart and took its energy,” Druig said. “You’re a monster, just like they are.” He turned and walked away from the group. Y/N looks at the others and searches their faces for any indication that Druig is lying. They either look uncomfortable or they refuse to look him in the eyes.
Y/N turns to Ikaris. “Is what Druig said true, Iceberg?”
Ikaris looks down at him with an unreadable expression on his face. “It wasn’t you. You didn’t know what you were doing.”
“Oh, God,” Y/N felt sick to his stomach.
“Y/N, you didn't have a choice. That Deviant was going to hurt me, hurt all of us,” Ikaris said.
“You saved us, Y/N,” Sersi said.
“But not Gilgamesh,” Y/N replied sadly. He walked towards Thena and Gilgamesh’s body. He knelt down next to the dead Eternal. “I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry,” Y/N sobbed.
“Wait, maybe Y/N can save Gilgamesh like he did Ajak,” Sprite says.
“What are you talking about, Sprite?” Kingo asked.
“Back on my farm, Y/N saved my life by absorbing my healing power and brought me back from the verge of death,” Ajak said.
“Maybe he can do it again,” Sprite said.
“Wait, Sprite, I don't think that—” Ikaris began as Thena interrupted. “Please, Y/N. Please try,” she begged. “He's my best friend.” The way she looked at him was the same way Wanda had looked when Pietro had died. His body full of holes. Y/N had saved his older brother that day, but could he save Gilgamesh as well?
“I'll try,” Y/N said. “But I'll need some help.” He looked at Ajak. “Maybe if both of us try together, it could work.”
“Very well, then let us commence,” she said, holding out her hand for Y/N to take. Y/N grabbed her hand as her cosmic healing was absorbed by Y/N. Y/N wasn't sure he trusted himself to do this, since what Druig said he did, but he couldn't deny Thena this request. He promised Ikaris this wouldn't happen again, and even if there was a small fraction of a chance that he could undo this, then so be it.
Ajak and Y/N held out their hands as they flashed gold and greenish-gold, respectively. The healing energy washes over Gilgamesh in soft cosmic light as they both focus on turning back the hands of fate, reversing what's happened. They stay like that for a long time, until they pull their hands back, but nothing has changed. Gilgamesh is still grayish.
“I'm sorry, Thena, but it didn't work—”
Gilgamesh opens his eyes and gasps loudly as he sits up, bewildered. He turns his head, looking around his surroundings. One minute he was gone, the next he was back here. It was impossible. “You're back,” Thena cries with joy as she tightly hugs him. Tears were falling down her face as she felt Gilgamesh’s warmth once again. It was much better than that cold touch she felt a moment ago. “How the hell am I here?” Gilgamesh asked. He was so confused. He thought he bit the bullet. Over and done.
“Ajak and Y/N saved you,” Sersi said.
Gilgamesh looked at his leader and guide, along with the young Avenger. “Thank you. Thank you both.”
“You're welcome, Gilgamesh,” Ajak smiled.
“I'm glad you're okay,” Y/N said. “Looks like something good came out of the mess I made.”
“Y/N wait—”
Y/N super speeded away from the area and headed towards the camp. Ikaris sighed as he floated in the air, with the intent of following after his boyfriend, but a hand grabbed his arm and he looked back at Sersi. “Wait, Ikaris. Let me talk to Y/N.”
“Why you, Sersi?”
“Sometimes it's better to hear some advice from a stranger, then someone they know,” Sersi said gently. “Trust me.” The way she looked at him was the same look she had whenever she was passionate about something. Helping better mankind, seeing the good in people. It’s part of the reason he fell in love with her in the first place. Ikaris knew she could help Y/N. “Alright, then,” he sighed.
….
Sersi found Y/N down by the river. One of the people at the camp said he headed in that direction. Sersi had practiced what she was going to say in her head, but before she could get a word out, Y/N spoke first. “Ikaris sent you, didn't he?”
“Actually, I asked him if I could come instead,” Sersi said. “Mind if I sit?”
“Sure.”
Sersi sat down next to Y/N, watching the water shimmer under a moonlit sky. It was a beautiful night, despite all the terrible things that happened today. Maybe that's why Y/N chose to come here. The absence of chaos. “Do you want to know why I chose this spot?” Y/N asked, looking at Sersi.
“Why?” she asked curiously.
“There was this fountain in the town square of where we lived and after my parents died and we lived in an orphanage. I used to sneak out and go to it, and I would just stare at my reflection for hours until my mind went numb,” Y/N said. “This reminds me of those days.”
“I assume things were very difficult for you and your siblings in those days,” Sersi said.
“They were,” Y/N agreed. “It's how I became like this in the first place.” He levitated a nearby stone and threw it into the river. “To be honest with you, Sersi, I never wanted my powers to begin with.”
“How did you get them?”
“Through painful experiments. A thirst for revenge and a need for peace in my country,” Y/N said. “I had a difficult time learning to control my powers, but Steve told me that the only way to ever truly be in control of my powers was to embrace them. To accept myself for who I am.”
“And looks like you did,” Sersi said.
“I thought I did, but after Westview, I'm not so sure anymore.”
“Y/N listen… I know that you only just met me and you have no reason to listen to me, but I don't think you did anything wrong,” Sersi said. “You saved us. Saved Gilgamesh. A monster wouldn't have done that for us.”
“But what if next time I hurt someone? What if I hurt you or the others or… Ikaris?” Y/N asked.
Sersi smiled. “Well, from what I've seen today, you wouldn't dream of hurting Ikaris. He cares for you a great deal. And you care for him as well.” Sersi's eyes were downcast to her feet. A sudden sadness washed over her. “I must admit that I'm a bit jealous of you. Your relationship with Ikaris.”
“Why would you be jealous of me? If anything, I should be the insecure one. You both were together for like what? 5,000 years? It's a tough act to follow.”
“And in those last 5,000 years, he’s never looked at me the way he looks at you. So at peace. Finally, free of a heavy burden,” Sersi said.
“I never meant to drive a rift between the two of you—”
“—It’s alright, Y/N. Ikaris and I were falling out long before you came. We just didn't want to admit it.”
“I'm sorry.”
“Don't be,” Sersi said. “I have wonderful memories of my time with Ikaris and I'll always cherish our time together, but now it's your turn. Go to him, Y/N. He’s really worried about you.”
That’s how Y/N found himself walking up to one of the houses in the camp. Ikaris was waiting for him. When he saw Y/N walk through the door; he smiled. “I take it Sersi convinced you to come see me?”
“Somewhere along those lines,” Y/N said. “She’s a very persuasive person.”
“Stubborn is more like it,” Ikaris said as they both chuckled. Y/N looked at Ikaris. “I shouldn’t have left like that, and I’m sorry about it.”
“You don’t have to apologize,Y/N,” Ikaris said.
“I should have just stayed with you and talked about it, but I left because I was scared and the last thing I wanted was to be a burden or distraction in your life. I should have listened to you and went back home,” Y/N said. “This mission is too important and I don’t want to mess it up—”
Ikaris successfully cut Y/N off as he kissed him, snaking an arm around his waist and bringing him closer. The two stayed like that for a moment before Ikaris pulled away, smirking. “Thought that would be a good way to shut you up.”
“It’s a very effective method,” Y/N agreed. “Maybe I need some more, just in case?” Ikaris smiled and kissed Y/N again.
“Y/N, listen to me… You’re not a distraction. You will never be a distraction for me, at least not in a bad way,” Ikaris smiled. “You’re an important asset to this mission, and I might not be standing here talking to you if it weren’t for you. None of us would.”
Ikaris held Y/N close to him. “I don’t know why you have this Chaos Magic inside you, but I have to believe you can control it and use it for good.”
“You really think so?” Y/N asked.
“I know so.”
“Well, what’s our plan of action now? Did Druig agree to help?”
“Not really. He's still defensive.”
“Well, maybe I should go talk to him. We need him, and if I can convince him to come with us, then maybe we might have a chance,” Y/N said.
“Are you sure that's a good idea?” Ikaris asked. “You and I aren't exactly Druig’s favorite people at the moment.”
“Well, Druig isn't exactly on my Christmas list either, but we need to work together and rise above our differences if we want to succeed,” Y/N said.
“Aren't you just the heroic one,” Ikaris jokes.
“Yeah, it comes with the job description,” Y/N smiled.
Early morning Y/N found Druig by the river. He was staring out at the people gathering water from the river. “What do you want?” Druig asked without looking back.
“Druig I—”
“—I already know what you’re going to ask Y/N, and the answer is no.”
“Please, Druig. You can’t stay here anymore,” Y/N said. “You may not like me, but the others need you. Are you really going to let innocent people die?”
“Why should I help this world and its people? They are responsible for their own destruction,” Druig said.
“That’s not true, and you know it. Humanity can do better.”
“Yeah? What makes you so sure?” Druig glares at Y/N.
“Because of them,” Y/N pointed to the people by the water. “They are the reason you still believe people are good and just. Otherwise, you would have controlled them to forget their flaws and inhibitions. So, why didn't you?”
“Because without their flaws, they wouldn’t be human.”
“Exactly, Druig. That's what makes humans human, but these Deviants are trying to keep us from killing their own kind. They have a conscience now. That makes them more dangerous,” Y/N said.
“No, Y/N. That makes them us. Eternals and Deviants,” Druig said bitterly. “Arishem’s children. But you are asking me to take control of the mind of a Celestial. I do not have that kind of power.”
“Maybe not by yourself, but with your family by your side, you can do anything,” Y/N said.
“You'll need Phastos, but good luck. He gave up on humans a long time ago.”
“So, is that a yes? You'll help us?” Y/N hopefully asked.
“If I say yes, will you leave me alone?” Druig said, annoyed, but smiled just a tiny bit.
Y/N smiled too.
….
Y/N, Ikaris, Sersi traveled to Chicago, Illinois to find Phastos and his family. A husband, and a son. A suburban area that reminded Y/N a lot of Westview. A young boy is throwing a football to his dad, as his other dad watches from inside the garage, fixing his son's bike. Y/N smiles at the sight.
“Daddy, Daddy, watch this.”
“Yeah, okay.”
“Watch this.”
“Let me see. Let me see it.”
“Dad. I’m only a starter.”
Phastos frowns when he notices Y/N, Ikaris, and Sersi. “Hi,” Sersi greets.
“Hello. Can we help you?” Ben Stoss, Phastos's husband asks. He throws the football back to his son.
“Hey, Jack. Ben,” Phastos chuckles as he walks towards Y/N and the others. “Hey, guys. These are my friends from college.” He points to each of them. “Uh, this is Sylvia and, uh, Isaac. That’s Isaac. And that's…”
“Y/N,” Y/N smiles.
“Right, Y/N. How are you doing, man?” Phastos smiles tightly.
“Isaac?” Ikaris whispers.
Jack walks up to them and gasps as he grasps his dad's arm in excitement. “Dad, that’s Superman,” he points to Ikaris. “Dad, that’s Superman!”
“Jack… That’s really funny, Jack,” Phastos says, nervously. “That is definitely not Superman.”
“No, no! He is Superman,” Jack protested. “I saw him on TV. He was in London, fighting a monster.” Jack pointed to Ikaris. “And you were with a cape and you were shooting laser beams out of your eyes.”
Ikaris was speechless at the young boy’s description of him. Y/N giggled. “He’s right, Iceberg. You would look good in a cape.” Y/N looked at Jack and smiled. “What color do you think?”
Jack smiled back. “Red. Definitely red.”
“I don’t wear a cape, Duckling,” Ikaris said.
“Oh, sorry,” Jack apologized. He looked at Y/N. “Are you really an Avenger? I’ve seen you on TV with Captain America, Iroman, Hulk, and Thor.”
Y/N’s hand glowed as he flicked a finger and the football floated off the ground and into his hands. “What do you think?”
“That’s so awesome!” Jack said.
“Okay, well, we should just go inside, right?” Phastos said, ushering everyone inside.
“Superman? Me, Superman?” Ikaris said incredulously as they walked inside.“I’m way hotter than him.”
“Have you seen Henry Cavill?” Y/N said. “He smokin hot.”
“Not funny, Duckling,” Ikaris grumbled. Y/N laughed. “Can I call you Clark? Is that what you go by now? Because, you know…”
“You’ve called me worse. Like Daddy, for instance,” Ikaris smirked at Y/N blushing face. He looked absolutely mortified.
Sersi, Y/N, and Ikaris watched Phastos help Jack brush his teeth. “You got it, Jack?”
“Mmhmm.”
“Way to go,” Phastos said.
“Yes,” Jack said.
“All right. Show me how it’s done. Round and round and round and round and round.” They both chuckle.
“They remind you of someone?” Ikaris whispered to Y/N. Y/N smiled sadly. “Yeah, they do.” Phastos turned back and looked at them. Ikaris, Sersi, and Y/N all ran into the kitchen trying to act natural. Sersi grabbed a coffee cup. Y/N grabbed a Star Wars book, but Ikaris took it from him. “Hey, I had that first!” Y/N protested.
Phastos walked into the kitchen. “Yeah. Incredibly natural, guys,” he said as Ikaris put the book down. “So, after all these years, even you fell for Ajak’s lies.”
“No need to rub it in,” Ikaris said.
“Mm. It all makes sense why she wouldn’t let us interfere with human conflicts. Conflicts lead to war, and war actually leads to advancement in lifesaving technology and medicine,” Phastos said. “So our mission was never to make a peaceful or harmonious world, but to increase the population at all costs. Just farming humans as food for the Celestials, right?”
“That’s bleak,” Ikaris says.
“Well, so is telling your husband and your child that they could be dead within a few days,” Phastos countered.
“Druig said you gave up on humans,” Y/N said.
Phastos turned to Y/N. “I got lucky. Okay? I have a family now. They give me faith again. And I see the good in humanity in them every single day.”
“That’s wonderful, Phastos,” Sersi said.
“Look, I cannot help you,” Phastos said “I am never leaving them—”
“—Phastos…”
“I’m sorry, Sersi. It was wrong for me to use my powers without thinking about the consequences in the first place,” Phastos said. “So, now, I choose to use my hands to fix my child’s bicycle, okay?”
“Do you?”
“I don’t use my powers anymore.”
“You sure?” Ikaris asked. His eyes flash gold.
“What are you…”
Ikaris blasts the door nearest to the kitchen table. A shield comes up and blocks the attack. They are all silent for a moment. “What the hell is wrong with you? My child is right down the hallway!” Phastos roars.
“That looks like someone’s been using his powers,” Ikaris smirked.
“Oh, my God.”
“I bet you’ve built the perfect safe house. What is this even made of? Vibranium?”
“Don’t!”
Ikaris slams his fist through the table and splits it in half. Y/N looks at the ruin table in shock. “Iceberg!”
“How was I supposed to know?” Ikaris defended himself.
“That was a fall collection. IKEA. Ass,” Phastos said. “How did you even deal with this guy for over 5,000 years?” Phastos looks at Sersi.
“If you stay here, you might as well invite the Deviants to dinner. Never mind waiting for the end of the world,” Ikaris told him.
“He has a point,” Sersi agreed.
“No, I’m sorry. You can’t just show up in my life and expect me to go with you,” Phastos said.
“Mr. Phastos. I know you don’t know me and I have no right to say this but—”
“—You’re right. I don’t know you and I don’t have to listen to you. Any of you,” Phastos said.
“Habibi. Listen to what they have to say. Ben is standing in the doorway. He nods for Y/N to continue.
“I know what it's like to want to protect your family. Your child,” Y/N began. “I may not look old enough to be a parent, but I was.”
“We both were,” Ikaris said, grabbing Y/N’s hand and squeezing it in comfort.
“Wait? Are you saying you two are… You’re together… Ikaris you’re… How?” Phastos was confused and so was Sersi.
Y/N smiled. “Long story short, my sister trapped us in a sitcom show in a town called Westview. I was waking up, and she used her powers and gave me a baby. Our son. His name was Icarus.”
“What happened to him?” Sersi asked.
“He’s gone. So are my nephews, Tommy and Billy.” Y/N began to cry a bit at the painful memory as Ikaris stood up and wrapped his arms around him, and hugged him.
“You should go, habibi,” Ben said.
“You want me to go?” Phastos asked his husband, shocked.
“You know what my mom would say to you right now, right?” Ben speaks in Arabic. “Quit procrastinating, Phil, and take care of your business.” He looks at the other Eternals and Y/N. “He’s a chronic procrastinator.”
“I’m not leaving you two. No way,” Phastos protests.
“I’m not happy about it, but if there’s a chance for us to watch Jack grow up to live a life of his own, we should take it.”
That night, Phastos tucks his son into bed and kisses his husband goodbye as he walks out in the night with Y/N, Sersi, and Ikaris.

NEW YORK
The crimson liquid dripped down her hands onto the blue marbled floor. Her body shaking with her eyes stared straight ahead. A single thought haunting her as this blood didn’t belong to her. Blood never bothered her. It shouldn’t. She’s dug her hands into a body to retrieve a bullet. Shit, this was nothing compared to the pools of blood she’s stepped in but it was the way it got onto her hands. She killed someone. Frantically, she budged her hands to rub the now cold blood off her hands but the handcuffs dug into her wrists, preventing her from moving a single centimeter.
“Hey quit that.” The blonde detective with the badge perched on her hip slammed several files onto the mahogany table in front of the timid girl. Y/N ignored her, still struggling with tears brimming her eyes to get rid of the disgusting feeling. The chain made a jingling noise and the metal feet of the chair constantly scraping due to her current state of uncooperativeness and the tense air, the sound was irking to a close ear. “I said stop.”
She didn’t listen.
“This bitch.” The blonde mumbled underneath her breath. Reaching her hand out to physically stop the girl, her moves were halted by the other figure in the room. Sergeant Barnes didn’t need to say anything with his eyes telling all. Telling Sharon Carter to back off with the slight movement on his eyes. She didn’t need to be told twice and he wasn’t going to tell her twice. Even Y/N had stopped budging at the sound of another voice entering the room. She didn't know how she should feel. If she should be mad at the both of them or not. If she should feel betrayed that somebody she thought were friends to her were only foes. Once Agent Carter had calmed down and took her seat from across the table, he moved from the corner of the room to sit himself onto the table. His clothed leg brushed against her bare skin who was quick to flinch away like her skin was being burned.
“Want to tell me about your friends?”, Barnes quipped, taking the files from Agent Carter.
No answer, no eye contact. Nothing.
"Okay." He opened up the crowded file to slip out a paper, placing it onto the table. "Want to tell me about her?" Finally moving her eyes, she looked at the picture on the table. Sersi. All dressed up in white. She knew in that photo she was right besides the tall feline in a dress that matched the two other bridesmaids. That day was perfect. Everyone was happy. Everything was going fine. Until everything turned to hell.
Silence.
Barnes cleared his throat," Right here it says is that she's the basically the head. She leads the whole group. Is that correct? What she says, you do. Nice to see her breaking gender norms and showing women can be in charge."
They've always been on top. You've just been too ignorant to have noticed.
He watched as Y/N's facial features changed, almost into a frown. But he continued and moved on to the next photo. Ikaris. "So what do you call him? A bodyguard? An assistant? Oh no, I've heard he does it all. He's the right hand man. Does all the dirty work for the boss, am I right?".
The only sounds in the room being the clicking of Carter's pen clicking rapidly. "Calm yourself, Agent." He said before pulling out another photo, piling them up on one another. Gilgamesh and Kingo. "Now we consider these two the fighters. Had a couple of witnesses and victims come forward about some incidents that occurred. Heard they beat someone to a pulp but didn't kill them. Sounds like they know what they're doing."
Barnes didn't even look up before he continued to the next photo. Thena. "Now this one... I heard she's good with her hands. She knows how to fight and I heard she makes all your weapons. You ever use any of her weapons yourself?" Barnes let out a dry laugh," It's okay, you won't be in trouble. I mean.... look at what you're in here for."
He pointed down at Y/N's hand but the girl remained still. Uncaring for what the man has to say. He moved on and set down two photos instead of one. Phastos. "While she makes your weapons, he aids in all other things. He gets and creates all the other supplies you need. Works with the technology too. He's a smart one. Too bad we're just a bit smarter."
"How do you know all of this?" Carter questioned. So unprofessional, Y/N almost rolled her eyes. How is she on this case in the first place if she doesn't know anything she's getting into?
Makkari. "Now I heard this one is quick on her feet. She's the one on the ground, doing all the sneaky and hands on work. Pretty impressive, considering she's deaf. Not that I'm saying her disability should be a disadvantage. Maybe because she's so quiet, she can easily slip through all the cracks."
Sprite. "Now this one I was pretty concerned about. What is a minor doing in the middle of all this? At first, I wondered what was her purpose. But coming from the video footage, she works along well with Makkari. Tiny human, she is. Juvie should be sweet to her."
There was a long pause. As if Barnes was debating even. Before he pulled out the last photo. All air had escaped from Y/N's lung. It's been two months but the man still had the same effect on her as he always did. Druig. " Master manipulator. He has a way with words and somehow he can convince somebody to do anything he wants. He messes with people's mind and he can get into your head." Barnes watched as tears filled Y/N's eyes.
As if Carter finally got a hint," Did he manipulate you as well?" With a pitiful look on her face, Carter stood up to get closer to Y/N. "Did he use-"
Through heaves of breaths. Through the sobs that broke out from her holding her breath. With red rimmed eyes and pure look of hatred she interrupted the blonde," You don't know anything."

Something I need
Druig x female!reader Part II
Words count:1.1k
Warnings:a little bit of violence
Summary: You and Druig had parted ways from the other Eternals centuries ago, but an unexpected incident forces you to join them again...
Masterlist
Part 1
I rememberd everything. Every little bit from the moment I set foot on earth to the moment, Druig's lips kissed mine for the very first time.
Every little moment, we shared together. It was all in my head.
What didn't get into my head, however, was the fact that Druig was supposingly dead.
I looked up to Ikaris and Anger kindled in me. After all we've been through together, he has not only killed Ajack, but now Druig.
Druig, my beautiful Druig.
I saw how Ikaris made his way to the shore. Immediately, I followed him.
"Ikaris!!", I yelled his name, as I saw him attack Makkari. He turned around.
His eyes widened, when he saw me approaching him.
I attacked:"You killed him!"
Ikaris dodged:"I did it for Arishem"
"To hell with Arishem!!", I yelled and charged towards Ikaris.
I send a wave of flames into his direction, but he didn't care at all.
On the contrary. He came flying towards me and I felt his hands closing around my neck, as we both left the ground.
I gasped for air, but Ikaris only increased his speed.
I quickly put my hands around his wrists and started heating them up.
I heard Ikaris grunt and a few seconds later, the both of us crash-landed on a cliff.
I coughed before slowly getting up. Something felt wrong. No, not wrong, broken.
I grunted and looked around, Ikaris was no where to be seen.
Suddenly he crashed into me and we stumbled towards the edge of the cliff. Ikaris looked down and suddenly tried to punch me in the face, but I took a step back and started to attack him with heavy waves of wind.
Ikaris held out and made his way back towards me.
Seconds later, I felt his fist collide with my chin and we finally fell of the cliff.
This situation only brought back a well-known memory. One of my first memories of earth...
It wasn't long ago, that we came to earth to fulfill our mission. Killing the deviants.
Which is exactly what we were doing now.
We found some deviants, attacking a small village near the cost.
Kingo and I currently worked together on luring away two Deviants while Druig was slowly bringing the villagers to safety.
We locked eyes for a split seconds, before I was suddenly attacked by a Deviant.
"Y/N, look out!!", Kingo yelled, but it was to late. I felt myself being thrown away, seconds before the deviant caught me again.
His claw trapped me under him. I shot a flame at him and got free, but he was clever.
He charged towards me. I had no time to react, so he effectively pushed me of the Edge of the cliff.
"No, Y/N!?!", I heard Druig scream, but before I could react in any way, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my torso. I looked up and saw Ikaris. I quickly threw my arms around his shoulders.
Soon, we landed on top of the cliff again. I looked up and saw Ikaris smiling at me.
"Thanks", I mumbled. He only nodded before pointing his finger behind us:"You better go to him"
I turned around and saw Druig running towards us.
I quickly ran to meet him.
When we reached each other, I felt Druig's arms wrap around me. I hid my face in the Crook of his neck and breathed in deeply.
"Beautiful beautiful Y/N", he whispered and put his hand on my cheek, surching for any injuries.
I took his hand in mine:"I'm alright"
Druig only nodded before pulling me back into his arms.
It was weird to think back at that exact moment, considering the fact that Ikaris was once my savior and now he was the reason why I was falling down the cliff.
The nearing ground pulled me back out of my thoughts and I quickly realized what Ikaris plan was, so before he could drop me on the ground, I tightly gripped his shoulders and send a heavy breeze towards the ground, pushing the both of us up again.
We hardly landed on the sand. I coughed and tried to get up but I felt a Laser beam attack me.
I swiftly backed away, but Ikaris kept attacking me, leaving me no chance to attack him myself.
He came closer and closer and I finally felt his hands grip my collar, yanking me up.
"I know you loved him. I'm sorry", he whispered before flying up and forcefully throwing me towards the Cliffside again.
I crashed on the shingly ground. I kept laying for a few seconds, trying to handle the slight pain in my back, when I suddenly heard a voice, I couldn't be able to hear at all chances...
"My beautiful beautiful Y/N"
I got up and saw Druig in front of me. Immediately, I attacked him with a wave of flames and he vanished.
"Sprite, I swear-", I mumbled, before a swarm of crows suddenly attacked me.
I ducked away but quickly realized it was only an illusion.
I got up, but a foot collided with chest, sending me straight to the ground.
I hissed and looked up. Sprite was standing in front of me. I saw tears flowing down her cheeks.
"Sprite, why?", I mumbled.
"Don't you realize!?", she cried out, "It's because I love hi-"
She was interrupted, as a rock collided with the back of her head.
I couldn't believe my eyes. There he was. Standing right in front of me, as if nothing had ever happened.
"You'll need a little bit more then that to kill me", he whispered while looking down at Sprite.
"Druig!", I said. His eyes shot towards me.
I immediately got up and sprinted to him.
"Druig", I mumbled again and pressed my lips onto his. He instantly responded, sneaking his arms around my waist.
A childish laugh escaped my lips, when he lifted me in the air and spun me around.
"My beautiful beautiful Y/N", he said and connected our foreheads.
"You have no idea, how much I missed these words coming out of your mouth", I chuckled.
"Oh I think I do", He said and looked me into the eyes.
"Remember?!", he pulled me back into his arms,"You're all I need"
"You're Something I need", I whispered.

Speculation on the Eternals team dynamics:
Sersi the Kind. the heart of the team, the peacemaker, the caretaker. everyone loves her and she loves everyone
Ikaris the Bold (Ikaris the Brave). the strongest fighter they have, the one who leads the charge into battle every time, with no sense of self-preservation whatsoever.
Ajak, the Healing Hands. the team leader and main decision maker, the mother, the one who patches everyone up after they come home from a fight, who soothes their hurts and calls them 'my dear' and 'cariño'/'mi querida'
Phastos the Builder. the dad figure to all the younger Eternals. the one they go to whenever they need a magical device constructed, or a hug and some life (love?) advice. long-suffering but cares about every member of the team so much
Gilgamesh the Strong. the giant who's the team's strength and protection, who can be so gentle when he chooses to.
Thena, the Goddess of War, Thena the Wise. the reserved strategist and the maker of weapons. together with Gilgamesh, form the brawn of the team. they have an old married couple dynamic that comes of having been friends for millennia, and have excellent cohesion and teamwork in battle.
Sprite the Nimble. nimble in body - dainty little spells and charms, and delicate and slight in figure. nimble in mind - she's the snarky little sibling of the team, always coming up with quippy remarks and witty clapbacks. ikaris has a soft spot for her, and he's secretly her favourite older brother. she pretends to hate it when he talks to her like a kid sister and calls her 'little fairy' (cause, you know, a sprite) but actually loves it
Makkari Light-Foot. the speedster. together with Sprite, she keeps the atmosphere light and diffuses tensions, with her comedy mostly being conveyed through facial expressions and suggestive hand gestures. has terrible taste in men but everyone tries hard to respect that until her boyfriend goes around mind-controlling people. fiercely loyal and protective of her teammates.
Druig the Sullen. doesn't approve of the Eternals' methods, only sticks around for Makkari. loves her very much but hates that she stands by the others. hates Kingo and doesn't get along well with Ikaris. later has immense conflict with the others, leading to them having to capture him to stop his mind controlling rampage
Kingo the Charismatic. resident narcissist and fashion icon. ever the celebrity, always concerned about his image and appearance. will tell anyone who is willing to listen about his entire acting career and the things he's worn to the Met Galas over the years
have i spent way too much time thinking about this team instead of studying? fuck yeah and im not gonna stop!!
what do you guys think? let me know in the notes, or make an addition!

Thenamesh au.
Gil and Ikaris are in a trainingsmatch. Ikaris wants Gil to use his full power but he refuses, too kind to use it against his eternal fam. So Ikaris decides to be provocative but Gil is unfazed till he starts saying hurtful things about Thena and their dynamic. He goes on and on til Gil looses his patient and starts using his full power while he is extremely angry. He even uses his power on his feets to increase his speed. Ikaris realizes after a few dangerous strong punches that he doesn’t have a chance against him but Gil is in his rage mode and won’t stop even if the others are shouting at him. and before it escalate to a life and death situation Thena is interfering.
"Come on, Gil!" Ikaris taunted, flying around the stadium. "At least give me a challenge!"
But Gil waved his hand through the air, dismissing Ikaris and his attempts to rile him up. "Will you take it easy, man? This is just a training match."
Thena was always telling Gil to be careful of Ikaris' pride. It was both his greatest weakness and his greatest motivator. She said she often found herself fighting Ikaris' pride more than the Soaring Eternal himself.
"Ah, scared you can't take me?" Ikaris chuckled at his brother's laziness as they circled each other. "Is your full power not as strong as we think it is?"
"You don't wanna see my full power, man," Gil continued to dismiss him, which he could see was starting to get to him.
"Five minutes," Ikaris tipped his chin at him.
"No."
Ikaris frowned, his jovial mood vanished. "You can't even do me the honour of an even match?"
"Guess not," Gil shrugged. His eyes drifted to the exit behind Ikaris, "we done here?"
But the Soldier Eternal had seen the slip up, and his opportunity was seized. "Oh, I see."
"What?" Gil frowned. He didn't like the tone in Ikaris' voice.
"Girlfriend waitin' for ye, Gil?" Ikaris asked with an entirely new sense of mockery to him. His eyes lit up at the opportunity to rattle his foe's cage a bit. "Got a hot date after this?"
"Watch it," Gil advised his brother. There were certain things that were over the line--off limits, in a way. And it was pretty understood - if unspoken - that the women in their lives fell into that category.
"Look, whatever floats your boat," Ikaris held up his hands in a play at civility.
"Ikaris," Gilgamesh glared, his fists starting to glow while still gripping his arms folded around himself.
"Is it an opposites attract thing?" Ikaris tilted his head at him in just the most demeaning way possible. "You're the soft to her sharp?"
Gil unfolded his arms, his fists glowing gold, "second warning."
"Ooh, I got 'im mad," Ikaris landed, standing in front of Gil with a borderline manic grin. "Maybe I should see if she's up for joining us? If you don't mind sharing her, that is."
"Last chance," Gil bit out, his feet impacting the ground as his energy built around him. "You say one more thing about her-"
"Relax Gil, she's all yours," Ikaris chuckled, drawing up his fists as he did. "Silent and bitchy isn't really my type."
Gil shot forward, propelled by his Cosmic Energy. Ikaris took to the air, but he couldn't fly fast enough. Gil caught his ankle, slamming him down into the ground so hard the floor cracked under him.
Ikaris grunted and gasped as the air was forced out of his lungs from the impact. He tried to pick himself up, but Gil was on top of him in a second, slamming a foot down into the chest plate of his armour--the only thing keeping him from getting his actual chest caved in.
Gilgamesh gripped the collar of Ikaris' armour, spinning and throwing him into the far wall. The room rattled in his wake. "Don't ever!"
Ikaris couldn't hear him. He couldn't hear anything past the rush of his own blood in his ears.
Gil landed punch after punch, twisting Ikaris' head this way and that. "Don't ever talk about her like that!"
Ikaris tried to charge his eyes, but Gil was coming at him too fast to get them powered up. One of them was almost swollen shut anyway. One of his ears was bleeding and his jaw was close to being dislocated.
Gil raised his fist, layering his energy upon itself until it felt heavy for even him. It would be enough to shatter every bone in Ikaris' body, maybe even plow right through their flawless armour.
Ikaris just looked at him, not one to back down from a fight, let alone one he started, "do it."
"Don't."
It wasn't a plea, so much as a lazy scolding. A slim hand came up and caught Gil's arm before he could land a punch that even Ajak would struggle to heal. He recognised the touch, and his Energy fizzled into the air around them.
"Thena," Gil blinked, his chest heaving with breath as his adrenaline and rage drained out of him. She lowered his fist back to his side slowly.
She looked as if she had interrupted a petty squabble, and not two Eternals out to kill each other. "I've never seen you rise to taunts before, Gilgamesh."
He sighed, looking back at the Soldier Eternal. He didn't exactly feel bad for the damage he'd done. Ikaris deserved it, as far as he was concerned. But he let Thena pull him away to follow her out. "I guess he got in my head."
"Hm," the Warrior Eternal offered neutrally, her hand travelling down his arm until she could take his hand in hers. The last of the tension in him drained out, as if she could take it from him and absorb it for herself.
"Sorry," Gil murmured, not that either of them were entirely sure for what he was apologising. He was walking beside and yet also following her, "he just...the things he says-"
"I am well acquainted with Ikaris' methods in the heat of battle," which was to say that he would say and do anything to rile up his opponents. There was no line Ikaris would not cross.
Gil nodded, offering a deprecating little smile, "I'm sure he never gets to you like this."
Her hand gave his a faint squeeze, and then she wasn't leading them anymore. She came to a stop beside him in the narrow hallway. "I wouldn't say that."
Gil was sure she was just saying that. He had never seen her get ruffled by Ikaris' dogging. He smiled, though, "thanks for tagging me out, anyway."
Finally, Thena smiled at him. "You did say you would be making honey buns, today."
Gil grinned before bursting into a laugh that made him feel infinitely lighter. "Oh, so that's what brought you?--just the promise of sweets?"
"Of course not, Gilgamesh," she admonished him with a smile of her own, "what kind of partner would I be if that were my only reason?"
#Thenamesh AU#or maybe just early Thenamesh#because Ikaris is and had always been a bitch#I have said it before and I'll say it again#Gil would pulverise Ikaris#just destroy him#Thena too#that was why they couldn't have a real fight between them in the movie#because they would have laid that boy flat on his ass#and in this case#don't talk about Gil's beloved Thena#just don't#he's a sweet guy#a peaceful guy#but he would have dragged Ikaris' half-dead body to Ajak's room like#sorry...I guess#and then he just leaves him there#Ajak is stuck with him like ???

Amazon - Present day
"This is... a forest ? Druig the forest man. Little remix of Tarzan and seeing as we have Jane with us it shouldn't take too long to find him. Right Y/N ?" Sprite makes the whole group laugh, as always. Thena can't help but smile and I have to admit that I might have laughed. A little. Only a little. Stunned by the landscape before us, I don't really pay attention to where I'm stepping. "Y/N watch out you're going to-" "Fuck !" I crunch my nose under the pain that is taking over my entire right leg, the brambles are still clinging to me and I have to admit I'm holding back tears as best I can, it hurts like hell. "Remind me why I came here !"
Gilgamesh helps me out of the quagmire, my leg well scraped and I drop into his arms. "What's the idea of putting on a dress to come here Y/N ?" "I don't know but... I... I think I'm going to die... goodbye." I played my part to perfection all the way through, my eyes closed, my hand placed on my forehead dramatically. I make my friends laugh in turn, which relaxes the charged atmosphere a little more. Gilgamesh straightens me up and we try to get back on our way, being careful not to hurt me a second time. "Why put on a dress for him ? It's not like he left you behind without a word." Ikaris's words come out dry and sharp so I decide to answer him in the same way "I think you're cheeky for someone who left without giving any news." a heavy silence falls on us, nobody dares to answer anything.
"I think you're beautiful Y/N." I lay my eyes on Gilgamesh's smiling face, who definitely understood that Ikaris' remark had just hurt my feelings. "I agree." Thena and Gilgamesh look at each other with a small knowing smile. I always wonder what I would have done without them. I wouldn't know how to thank them for all they have done for me. They are my family more than my friends.
Soon we arrive in the heart of a small village, quite calm and harmonious. More or less intrigued looks are on us, as if they had not seen a stranger for a long time. While Sprite tries to get some information to find Druig, I look at a little girl, sitting, calm, watching us with curiosity. If there's one thing that can calm me down, it's children. I wave to her, say hello and smile. "You came quickly. I really didn't expect to see you here now." that voice.
My body tenses, I don't move, not wanting to be noticed. If I could go unnoticed by the way that would be great ! I hide as I can behind Kingo, in passing my eyes pass unhappily on Druig. How does he always look so beautiful and charismatic. "My beautiful girl... you always think so loudly." I feel his blue eyes staring at me, which makes me blush almost immediately, as his gaze travels over my body I feel strangely weak, his eyebrows furrowing when he sees that I've hurt myself. "Come in. I believe you have some things to tell me."
Sersi looks at Druig, trying to see how much what she has just told him may have hurt or affected him. She realises that it's not exactly easy to take in and that Ajak's death affects everyone, even Druig. "Why would I agree to help you?" "For.... to save the world? Isn't that a good reason?" he doesn't answer Sersi's question, which annoys Ikaris, who makes it known. "We're leaving. We don't need him, Sersi. We'll find another way." "Ikaris, this is not really time to be a difficult child, you know.” I can't help but speak up, which I should have avoided. The tone rises very quickly between them. No one really listens to each other anymore and Druig ends up leaving, annoyed and irritated by our presence, announcing bad news.
Kingo stands up, trying to convince Sersi to let Druig think about it, to give him some time.Tired of all the commotion I silently leave this pretty chapel. I venture into the forest while being careful, I really don't want to get hurt again, this is not the time. When I finally find him, with my back to me, facing a sumptuous lake, I feel his anger piercing me with full force, if dealing with my own emotions is a concept that escapes me, dealing with those of others is within my grasp. If I want to talk to him, I'm not going to have the choice of taking that anger away. If Arishem gave me the power to control emotions, I might as well use it once in a while.
I move closer to him and gently let my hand slide down his forearm before entwining my fingers with his. "I've always hated that you control my emotions. But if it allows me to hold your hand, I don't really have a problem with it anymore." I smile at him, trying to back away, to take my hand from his but he holds me back, never looking at me. "Do you think Sersi's idea is the best idea ever?" "You have another idea?" "No. Not really. I don't really know if I care about any of this either."
I look up to the skies, tired of his stubbornness, "I don't want to leave, I like it here. I like its landscapes, its beauty, its weaknesses. I don't want to start all over again, to forget, to no longer know how much I love you all. They need you, Dru. I need you." I look out to the horizon and admire the beautiful sunset. "Take time to think about it, just a little. I know it's not easy for you either. Even if you don't show it." I finally let go of his hand. I don't really expect an answer, so I leave to join the others.
As I arrive back in the centre of the small village, I find my friends ready to listen to one of Sprite's most beautiful stories, Thena's. Sersi beckons me to join her "I love Sprite's stories, I've missed them." I smile at my friend "Me too." Once the Sprite stuff is over I look around for Druig but can't find him, instead I come across a rather angry Ikaris. "Are you sulking? Stop sulking." "Druig can sulk and I can't?" "Druig sulks because that's all he does. Druig sucks. Come on." I hold out my hand to my friend, which he finally grasps.
"Ajak...? Ajak!" I rush towards her, sliding on the ice. Her body is cold, grey, empty of all energy. "Ajak... oh my God..." I try to look around for help, but nothing. "Help! Please!" my crying doesn't stop. I hear a noise that makes me look up. "What the..."
"Y/N? Y/N are you okay?" the voice of Ikaris brings me back to the present moment, a little confused I smile nervously quickly removing my hand from his. "Yes, yes I'm fine! I'm just a little tired, travelling and all that... I'll go and rest for a bit." I offer him a not very convincing smile, I must admit. I walk away, in incomprehension. What just happened? "Since when have you been able to access Ikaris' memories?" I gasp, letting out a small cry of fright. "What the hell is wrong with you! I was close to dying there Druig!" I hear him laugh, his laughter making me, tender. Damn it Y/N this is not the time. "It's not funny! You look like a psychopath like that, hiding in the dark...."
"I saw what just happened with Ikaris, I saw what you saw, since when can you access other people's memories?" "First of all I don't know what you're talking about and second of all who told you that you could walk around in my mind like it was yours?" "You. It's not my fault that your mind is always so tame when it comes to me Darling. If only you could be as docile as he is..." I roll my eyes. "It's not like you like me to give you a hard time. I didn't know it was a memory. I've never done this before... I just held his hand. But... it definitely doesn't make sense. Why would he have a memory like that?"
Druig stares at me, as if to make me understand something that seems so obvious to him. "No. No it can't be, don't even try to say it." "You never thought he could have-" "Shhh. No, no, no, no and no. He would never do that for the simple reason that it's not possible, that's all." "You're getting agitated." "Of course I'm getting agitated Druig you are implying that Ikaris could have killed Ajak, do you realize what you are saying? Of course I'm getting agitated." what if he's right? I feel a wave of uncontrollable anxiety sweep over me.
Everything gets mixed up in my head and I don't know how to separate the real from the absurd. "Who wants honey, must suffer from the stings of bees" these words take me back centuries. While we were Ajak and I admired the starry sky, I confided to him for the first time my love for Druig. The only person who knows it, I confide in her my fear of being hurt and therefore that I didn't want to make the first move but that I still wanted to live a beautiful love story and these are Ajak's words that night. Who wants honey, must suffer from bee stings. "It was because of Ajak that I confided in you." "I know. And it is because of you that I learned to love the outside world."
Nothing could spoil this moment, maybe it was time to confide, to talk about the past. Nothing was supposed to ruin this moment, but that was far too easy, wasn't it? Ready to give myself up once and for all, I feel a feeling of revenge come over me, I don't really understand where it comes from until I see a deviant heading straight for us. Without thinking I throw myself on Druig, creating an energy field, protecting us momentarily from the deviant. Everything happens very quickly and in an instant we are both alone. "The village..." as we arrive at the main square, it's chaotic.
My first instinct is to protect the children who are the most vulnerable. Creating an energy shield around us. I get everyone to safety, as much as I can. "Y/N!" I turn around when I hear Gilgamesh call out to me, I don't have time to realize that a deviant is coming right at me that Gilgamesh intervenes, risking his life. I run towards him trying to help him as I can but I am far from being a warrior. I find myself propelled to the ground with my face turned towards my friend, Ikaris takes the deviant farther into the forest, finally giving the village some respite.
I get up with difficulty, running towards Gilgamesh, lying on the ground. "Hey... get up, I'll help you... get up.." no response, just a small smile only. "Y/N..." "I'm here... come.... I will help you. Get up. I'll help you. Stand up. Please..." I caress his face, my tears burning my skin as he just let out his last breath. "No... no please no... please don't leave me! Don't leave me! "I scream. I scream my anger, my pain, my sadness, I scream my regrets, I scream my remorse. "Y/N... " Thena's hands rest on my shoulders.
All around the fire, no one speaks, only a villager, saying a prayer in Spanish in memory of Gilgamesh. Thena's cries reach my ears. My heart becomes a little bit heavier. I start to cry again, unable to contain it. "My love... come here." Druig wraps his arms around me and I rest my head against his chest, my eyes closed. His warmth and scent reassure me so much. His presence makes me feel good.
In the early morning, Thena deposits the ashes of our dear friend in the lake. Asleep against Druig's chest, the first rays of the sun caress my face and wake me up. "I missed you so much Dru... don't ever leave. Ever again." "My beautiful princess... I won't leave again. I promise. I will come with you. We'll find Phastos and we'll stop the emergence. For earth, for Gilgamesh. Rest a little longer, love... I've got you."
Part two is a bit longer but I loved writing it. It's a bit of a mess but I hope you'll like it anyway and I would probably do a part three if you want. 🦋
