i wont get on my rant about educational licensure requirements but like business tech classes are not a teacher prep area so like historically just some person who passed a praxis test and no real knowledge of teaching

bruh 😭😭 eve lore but i went to a stem middle school (and high school, for a little bit) (public school, just like. lottery to let kids get into this one instead of ur geographic one) so we were all given decent hp laptops at age ten or whatever. instead of the fuckass chrome books the rest of the district got ~3 years later (i have suuuuuch strong opinions on how chrome books have demolished computer literacy for gen z/alpha lmfao). and we had digital literacy classes taught by the librarian (and engineering classes) and like. well i guess i didn’t know what linux was at the time so i can’t be TOO sure that anybody teaching me did. but we were all cracking the admin restrictions like a month in thanks to a curriculum that encouraged us to use our new skills to be independent learners or whatever so they were certainly teaching us SOMETHING right. anyways bc of this i guess i just assumed the ppl teaching us tech stuff knew what they were doing…….

rewatching 4x11 (again) and i’m sure i’ve said this ad nauseum but i feel like the reading that nancy must somehow have so much money that 24,000 dollars doesn’t make a difference to her, or alternatively, that giving that money to mateo was so ridiculous/ooc that it should just be chalked up to lazy writing and left there are both so unintuitive. giving mateo the money was obviously really stupid of nancy, but stupid choices characters make are often the most revealing of their motives.

when mateo tells her he regrets taking the money, and nancy asks if he’s mad at her, and we see that lingering shot of her tearful expression as he goes home without her— THAT’S what it was about! nancy did something as unconscionable and crazy as giving a man a massive chunk of her life savings because she wanted him to love her and she wanted him to ask her to stay, and it all blew up in her face. this to me is like. the meat of her whole character.

short is pomegranate: it took me a single night to write and another to read quickly through it
