Dionysian Delirium Unleashed: A Riveting Odyssey into Euripides' Bacchae
Euripides' timeless masterpiece, "Bacchae," as brilliantly translated by Gilbert Murray, serves as an electrifying exploration into the essence of human nature and the intoxicating power of the divine. This Athenian drama unfolds with an enigmatic title that hints at revelry, and indeed, the narrative plunges the audience into the captivating chaos of Dionysian rites. Murray's translation masterfully captures the raw energy and mysticism of the original text, plunging readers into a world where reason battles ecstasy, and the boundaries between mortals and gods blur into a thrilling dance of delirium.
The play centers around the god Dionysus, who descends upon Thebes to assert his divine identity. The portrayal of the erratic and orgiastic rituals of the Bacchantes, led by the charismatic yet enigmatic Dionysus, becomes a metaphorical journey into the deepest recesses of human psychology. Murray's linguistic prowess and sensitivity to the nuances of ancient Greek bring forth the rich tapestry of tragedy, ecstasy, and divine intervention that permeates every scene.
As the tension between Dionysus and the skeptical King Pentheus escalates, the audience is drawn into a complex web of power, belief, and the consequences of denying the divine. Murray's translation skillfully weaves together the poetic and the profound, ensuring that the play's philosophical undercurrents are as resonant today as they were in ancient Athens.
"Bacchae" is more than a dramatic spectacle; it is a philosophical inquiry into the nature of faith, reason, and the consequences of defying the divine order. Murray's translation adds a layer of accessibility without sacrificing the original's poetic brilliance, making this rendition an ideal entry point for both seasoned scholars and newcomers to Greek tragedy.
In conclusion, "Dionysian Delirium Unleashed" is a riveting journey through the mystical and tumultuous realm of "Bacchae," inviting readers to question the boundaries of sanity, embrace the divine within, and confront the consequences of resisting the call of the god of wine and revelry.
"Bacchae," of Euripides skillfully translated by Gilbert Murray is available in Amazon in paperback 10.99$ and hardcover 18.99$ editions.

Can you imagine sitting on Blue's lap and doing his eyeliner in the morning? The way he'd stare at you?? 😩💗
Ohhhhh nooooooooooooooooo, this gave me so many (too many) thoughts, I am so sorry it turned into this <3

“Sit still.”
“I am.”
“Are not.”
Blue scowls at you, wrinkling his nose ever so slightly in disdain. “I don’t like your tone.”
“Yes, you do.” You answer without pause and shift a little on his lap, your knees are either side of his thighs, the smoky kohl eyeliner in one hand.
His frown deepens and you tut, rolling your eyes at his theatrics.
“You could do this yourself, you know?” You take hold of his chin with your free hand, your grip firm and fingers cool as you tilt his head a fraction so you can work without his constant fidgeting.
You expect a snappy retort, or rude word, but get neither. For a blissfully long moment, he’s surprisingly quiet. And still.
His heartbeat thunders under your fingers, his breathing short and shallow as if he’s trying his best to stay as silent as possible. His lips are parted as you press the pencil to his skin, just lightly skimming with the softest touch.
“I’m not going to poke your eyes out, you know?” You tease.
“I know.” He says softly, his eyes flicker to your face for a second and it’s only now that you pay full attention that you can see how dark and dilated they are.
“Well, you’re tense as fuck,” you swallow, trying to focus on doing his makeup. “Acting like I’ve got a knife to your throat.”
He gulps audibly and you spare him a glance. He holds your gaze, but it’s not full of the defiant arrogance you’re used to.
“Do you want me to hold a knife to your throat?” You tease lightly, trying to cover your own interest.
“Fuck off.” He bites back, but his words are lacking his usual snarl.
You grin. “I think you do actually, I think you’d quite like for me to pin you down and-”
He grumbles loudly, quickly wrapping his arms around your waist and pressing his face into your chest. In turn, forcing his throat further into your hand. He bites back a moan as you hold back a chuckle.
After a few moments, you can’t resist antagonising him further. “Want me to choke you while I jack you off?”
Blue snaps his head back so that he can give you one of his trademark glares - it would be menacing if you weren’t so used to it by now.
“Yes.” He purses his lips when you quirk an eyebrow at him, and then huffs. “Please.”
Thank you for reading!

I think it's kinda interesting how, while the Beasts are opposites of the Ancients, some feel like reflections to Ancients they're not directly related to.
Starting with the pair that feels most obvious, Silent Salt and Dark Cacao. Their designs especially seem similar with the armor, sword, and color palette. Silence also feels like it can be related to Dark Cacao's isolation during his previous arc.
This feels the same as with Pure Vanilla and Mystic Flour. Again with their color palettes, but also with their religious theming, both being obligated to help all those that seek their guidance.
Again, mostly similar vibe with these two. You could even argue that Destruction can be considered an extention of Passion in a way. These next pairs get a bit weaker with their comparisons, which is why I started with the strongest ones first.
My comparisons for Golden Cheese and Eternal Sugar come down to both of them having wings and some speculation I have. "Eternal" I feel could imply abundance, which may be a motivation for Eternal Sugar's slothfulness. It's possible they simply have all they desire, thus no longer having the will to do anything.
Lastly, for White Lily Cookie and Shadow Milk, the biggest point of comparison I have is that Shadow Milk Cookie's theatrical presentation could also be considered an extention of freedom (especially since it's implied that he used to be an academic). This is the one I really stretch the most with, I'd say.
Why do I bring any of this up? What I think about these possible links is that the Beasts reflect what each of the Ancients could become, if taken to their logical extreme. Also, with those that share their Soul Jams being their opposites (Pure Vanilla being truth and Shadow Milk being deceit, etc.), it can imply that each of the Ancients are each other's opposites as well. Opposites that mesh well enough despite it, anyway.
I'm bad at analysis, so do what you will with this. I don't know if this is anything. Implications and whatnot.
#cookie run#cookie run kingdom#crk#beast yeast#pure vanilla cookie#hollyberry cookie#dark cacao cookie#please don't be mean to me if this analysis is garbo it's just my observation#golden cheese cookie#white lily cookie#shadow milk cookie#eternal sugar cookie#mystic flour cookie#burning spice cookie#silent salt cookie#beasts#ancients#bleh too many tags#please don't be mean to me if my analysis is garbo 🥺#I just made this observation and thought maybe it was a thing#I think I just lost steam at the end there cuz there's actually a lot of comparisons to be made between White Lily and Shadow Milk#I'm just a bit too lazy to go back and fix that now lol

GUSTAVE DORÉ - A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, 1870
The painting is part of Doré's series of engravings for Shakespeare's plays. It captures the enchanting and mystical essence of the play. The artwork depicts a full moon illuminating a forest scene where fairies interact with Titania, the fairy queen.
Doré's illustrations rendered Shakespeare's works more accessible and appealing to a larger audience, including individuals who may not have read the plays in their original language or format. His visuals aided in the worldwide spread of Shakespearean tales, contributing to the Bard's cultural icon status. They were incorporated in books, educational resources, and even as standalone artwork, thereby embedding these visual interpretations into cultural awareness.
Living in London, Doré was immersed in the cultural epicenter of Shakespearean literature. This proximity to the source material, the historical settings, and the ongoing theatrical productions of Shakespeare's plays likely deepened his understanding and connection to the works. This could have influenced the authenticity and interpretation in his illustrations, providing a more "British" or at least a more informed perspective on Shakespeare's settings and characters.

I’ve said before Transformers has struggled recently with its villains and recent material doesn’t change this.
Ever since this happened…
We’ve largely been stuck with poor man’s Vegeta Megatron.
And as such the series has lost its main villain, and become directionless.
The modern version of this trend started with Rescue Bots & RiD15, but it made sense in their respective series, and the replacement villains were treated like actual villains and are fondly remembered because of that.
It’s also not the first time Megatron was succeeded in leadership, as the Marvel Comics did this shockingly frequently.
With RatBat being the most unique case, in that he was the only one who largely succeeded in his efforts, and was a result of sincerely wanting to try something different.
I think that sincerity is long gone in favor of brand stagnation and “DEI” despite the later going out the door as of typing.
The usual replacement tends to be Galvatron, often depicted as an evolved Megatron through mystical means.
But Hasbro seems very reluctant to use Galvatron lately for whatever reason, instead usually having him as a (technically) separate character if he does show up.
Cyberverse kinda shows the current problem two fold. The bad writers convinced themselves they wrote a sympathetic Megatron when the writing shows him to still be certifiably insane and going through what is essentially an on the nose bad break up with Optimus. This extended to Megatron somehow being worthy of using the Matrix, and able to use it, despite Decepticons never typically being able to, and imply Optimus isn’t worthy of the Matrix, but never follow up on it.
To convince themselves and the audience that the regular CV Megatron was still a good person despite his atrocities, the writers pulled an Archie Sonic, and brought on their own Robo-Robotnik in Megatron X.
He too is apparently worthy of the Matrix and able to use it, despite completely destroying Cybertron and most, if not all, of its non Perfectcon inhabitants.
(To be fair, the idea of a Decepticon being able to use the Matrix goes back to Marvel G1 Thunderwing, but his actions helped corrupt the Matrix, creating the Dark Matrix Creature, but Cyberverse never states this is the case at all. This isn’t really a popular concept the series goes back to either, making Cyberverse the outlier.)
This ties back to Hasbro’s reluctance on Galvatron, as X was originally supposed to BE Galvatron in a Marvel G1 homage, but Hasbro said no.
So we’ve been left with a weird, but non committed, experimental phase of trying out different Villians to less than stellar results…
(Mandroid and Scourge are pretty good villains, but Mandroid quickly succumbed to bad writing, & Scourge was fairly quickly killed off, with no clear intent to go back to the Terrorcons and have a Movie Cyclonus based on the Armada version to take Scourge’s place.)
This feeds back into fan complaints about Hasbro’s unwillingness to try new things I’ve seen recently. In context the complaint was more wanting another Beast Wars like thing with new factions and new non G1 characters.
Like we HAVE been getting that with the Terrans and Terrorcons, but it’s clear kids aren’t that interested in them, and adult fans are as fickle as ever and not supporting it super well either. TFONE is pry the most damning, where it’s doing poorly across the planet theatrically, despite trying a new non-evergreen art style, and a much better version of Aligned/IDW caste system that simplifies it to Cogs & Cogless.
It’s not for lack of trying, but it’s also not grabbing kids well either.
This weird flip flopping recently came into play with Galactic Trials, the crappy looking racing game.
The game casts Nemesis Prime as the main villain, who tried to steal the relics of the Primes, but fail and cast the Chaos Emeralds, er, relics across the galaxy.
Here’s the weird part: this happens before the Great War began, with the Autobots and Decepticons now finding out in the present and scrambling to collect the relics for themselves. The story isn’t expanded and confuses things. Nemesis typically isn’t even a Prime, but a Decepticon clone of Optimus. Barring a few exceptions, the main deviation this MIGHT be referencing is IDW Nova Prime, who briefly became Nemesis Prime, powered by a Matrix like relic from the Dead Universe.
So does that mean in this universe the Matrix chose a guy literally named Nemesis to be Prime? Is this actually supposed to be Nova Prime via IDW? Is this Orion Pax’s black sheep of the product line? So many questions this game isn’t going to answer.
This is the frustrating part about all this. I like that they’re trying to branch out still, and I liked Nemesis Prime in IDW and back when he was Scourge in RiD01, but…
He’s kinda pointless here.
Why are we using a “new” character for a failing on launch, not-mobile game, when the plot would be much simpler in that Megatron or Starscream raided the vault of the Primes only for Optimus to intervene and launch the relics into space. Why is Nemesis the villain? For that matter, since it’s a racing game, shouldn’t the Stunticons be the villains?
This is where CyberWorld might be the make or break now.
I think slowly but surely, Hasbro is recognizing their past ideas on overusing antihero Megatron isn’t working, and that they need to properly commit to a successor if they don’t want Megatron to be a villain anymore.
Going by toy leaks, it appears they’ve decided to go BACK to Galvatron proper, but they also include Scorponok, who’s typically cast as a leader in some capacity (excluding Beast Wars).
(Until we learn more, I’m leaning towards their roles being similar to Superlink’s.)
So I think that’s a step in the right direction so far; going for Skybound’s aim of familiar but, they’re willing to pivot under better writing.
I think that’s where TFONE D-16 doesn’t work as a concept.
Like it if not, casual audiences and kids aren’t that invested in the idea of a wide eyed good boi Megatron who fell from grace or wants to redeem.
They want these kinds of power hungry megalomaniacal Megatrons, who are willing to go the extra mile just to upstage Optimus to stroke their own ego. Not high school bosom buddies with gay lover subtext that Stereotypical Tumblr-Twitter wants. And hopefully with what we’ve seen with Skybound, we’re going back to that Megatron soon. And if we don’t go back to Megatron strictly, then Galvatron might be the way to go cartoon wise.

Bye Jeju, you've been good..
Eyes always on the prize Jungkookssii mm
The trio was really wholesome in some moments but I'm so ready for Jikook's cozy winter times. It's literally their default setting.
This type of lighthearted mood and way of talking about the topic brings me peace for them. They looked relieved and confident in their choice to stay together. I don't know if they actually knew since September about the lottery verdict or they were just manifesting real hard ahead of time because in their mind there's no way they're separating (like no we don't accept any other answer than being together) but either way what matters is the result and their content feeling.
The way Tae was on the phone the whole time like 'yeah I've heard your enlistment talk 348392 times already' 😂 There really is a sort of "danger" to them having only one extra person on the table cause they get too engulfed in each other. They need a big group when they go out or else 1-2 ppl will feel kinda alienated lol
Jimin in this dark flannel fit got the whole fandom in shambles and rightfully so.
~
Gotta say every time Jimin entertains Jungkook going on and on about topics he knows/has info about, my fondness for them reaches a whole new peak 🥹
~
I get they were trying to display their strength with their typical pool shenanigans but Jungkook?? You need to chill man there's plenty of other ways to "help a man from drowning" 😂(could this type of insane underwater hair grab be considered bf privileges? lol)
This towel scene is so 'boys' coded but also a little frisky you feel me? It just has that vibe you know..
This episode's cuddle was kinda my favourite so far tbh (the CT one is in its own hall of fame given how it was more of a hungry feast than a cuddle). Idk why it just felt very soft, squishy and needy.
NOW THIS is a confirmation about the perilla leaf debacle. Kook was so careful about it I was dying laughing. It can be a risky choice HAHAHAHAHA
mimi 🤝🏻 cats kook 🤝🏻 dogs
WALK THROUGH FIRE FOR YOU, BABY I ADORE YOU 🎶
This scene was the funniest of the episode. The theatrics, the dramatics, the "asking for more sausage while Jimin was leaving". PEAK
The way he was worried about his taste buds lol. Food really is his #2 priority damn. (#1 being Jimin)
Btw this scene doesn't prove anything but the fact that their hyung-dongseang dynamic is almost ✨nonexistent✨.
~
I noticed they always look at the crew in front of them after smth happens or a joke or whatever. Instead they should look at the camera and break the fourth wall, it would be so funny.
~
He's been thinking about it since NYC your honor..
~
Out of topic but during 3 days in Jeju we could see them from time to time with a mic in their hands, especially Jimin, but they never showed any karaoke scenes. ROBBED
~
The suspense about Sapporo is not good for my liking. Like they don't need to make Japan more mystical than it is already, we know it's gonna be the softest thing ever.
Why so hush hush huh? I expect an announcement video by Sunday! (max. monday!)
Anyways..Sapporooo here we cooomeee

After the season one finale and seeing as Leon would be trustworthy enough to go to the lair and spend some time with Donnie, April and Splinter would he learn some ninja skills ?
Like I imagine the Lou jitsu way of fighting might suit him better than Draxum's mystic warrior style and he might pick it up easier and that would help his relationship with Splinter while also improving his self esteem as he finds something he feels good at.
Oh yeah Leo's training under Draxum was very fighting-focused, but with the ninja arts there is so much more to it than the combat. If we wanna get more historically accurate, I'm pretty sure ninja were supposed to mostly resort to fighting as a last resort, most of the time it was better for a ninja to remain hidden. All of this is to say, Leo could learn quite a bit from both Splinter and Donnie.
Let's be honest though, stealth would NOT be Leo's strong-suit. I mean, theoretically he could be good at it, Leo's pretty fast and agile, and I'm sure his portalling abilities could help out a ton, problem is the fact that he's really theatrical and a total show-off so I don't know how well he would do with actually staying hidden. Then again, Splinter is also a fucking theater nerd so if he figured out stealth then maybe Leo isn't a lost cause. (Donnie at least in this AU is great at stealth, he kinda had to be considering he was never gonna beat all three of his brothers in direct combat)
When Leo finally starts connecting to his Hamato ancestry and unlocks his Ninpō, his mystic powers would certainly benefit from that. But I dunno, as useful as Leo's portals are I feel like Donnie and Mikey would benefit a lot more considering how versatile their mystic powers are compared to Leo's more specific abilities.
What I'm trying to get at is that what Leo really needs is to figure out his own fighting style, his own method of doing things. Leo at first would be ecstatic over getting to train with Splinter and Donnie, he knows he never excelled under Draxum's teachings so this is what he must have been missing! Being a ninja would be His Thing, the thing that he's really good at. So Leo goes into the ninja training fully expecting things so go easy this time, and then they just... don't. He's not terrible at it by any means, but the ninja arts don't come as naturally to him as he'd hoped. And he keeps comparing himself to Donnie this time, who's way better at this than Leo is, and suddenly he's back at square one. Leo, never bad but always below average, more importantly, never quite as good as his brothers.
Eventually, Leo would figure out his own unique strengths, his tactical mind, his manipulation skills, his possible leadership cababilities. Who knows, maybe he even learns to stop basing his sense of self-worth on his fighting abilities lol?

Ayup! So, question about Donnie's view of his brothers:
He's never met Raph, only seen him once, hasn't actually met Mikey but has kinda stalked him, and talking to Leo was like talking to a filing cabinet. He loves them, but he also hallucinates them, and does he just have kind of made up personalities for them in his head, based off of so little?
“Talking to a filing cabinet” (wheeze) sorry I just gotta take a sec…(゚∀゚)
So before actually meeting them all, and forming a real bond with his brothers, Three is obsessed with comparing himself to them. Not necessarily in a bad, resentful way, but in a sadly unachievable desperate way. He (by way of listening to Draxum) puts them all on pedestals without actually knowing their skills. He just assumes they would be perfect, strong specimens, and never really thinks much of what their personalities are like. While the hallucinations that constantly plague him are convincing enough to fool him in the moment. Three is still able to remind himself in the after, that they are not his brothers. Most days he talks more to those shadows, than Draxum, the goyles, or even Vee. They almost never leave him, especially in the last year, when, as far as he knows, Vee has just up and disappeared on him.
Through the footage he can get his hands on, he sees Mikey’s resilience in battle, and is curious about the mystical acumen there. Vee tells him about how The Oni spares more lives than Big Mama demands he take, all while still managing to make an entertaining enough performance that he avoids being punished for his mercy. Mickey doesn’t even realize he’s doing it in those battles, but he’s mimicking the theatrical Leo from his memories, when they would all play together, and his big brother would weave these bright and lively stories for them act out. Donnie is very protective of Mikey, as Draxum has always held Four over Three’s head. When they meet, Donnie is really thrown off by how happy and bright Michelangelo is.
For Raph, Three is baffled by the kind expression he sees on One’s face. Three has always assumed he would be an absolute power house monster, based solely off his species and the size he must be. When Three watches Raph rescuing Mickey from Big Mama—a scenario Three could only dream of completing—there’s a kindness and type of strength, Three had never even considered. Three grows desperate to experience that safe feeling, but it also brings a sort of hopelessness. Subconsciously he begins waiting for a similar kind of rescue. When he meets Raph, Donnie is on his best behavior. Raph is a sweet and caring blanket of comfort, but he’s still huge and a possible threat. If Donnie makes Raph unhappy in any way, he could be kicked out, and sent back to Draxum.
For Leo, yes, it is sometimes like talking to a brick wall. Three gets almost nothing from him, except a feeling of failure. Draxum is expecting Three to convert Leonardo to their cause, or at the very least gain some inside knowledge that they can exploit at the right time. But Leo is so unyielding, Three is almost more scared to talk to him than anything, because can never make any headway. But Draxum doesn’t accept failure, so Three goes all in every single time. When he meets Leo again, it’s like being reunited with a stranger. Leo is guilty and overcompensating for his cold attitude towards Three, but he still has some moments where his anger is scary.

Pre Corruption Shadow Milk Headcanons
Pathetic theater nerd, more of a nerd than a theater nerd but still a theater nerd.
He would get easily flustered if you flirted with him, sure he can dish out some flirts but he cannot take what he serves. Same goes for him when he's corrupted but the reactions are different.
For example, while pre-corruption Shadow Milk will immediately turn blue(headcanon that his blood/jam is blue/blueberry jam instead of strawberry) and try to hide his face. Meanwhile Corrupted Shadow Milk will attempt to laugh it off as he slowly gets more flustered.
Wasn't as publicly theatrical as corrupted Shadow Milk is, most of the time. He still had his moments.
His plays started out innocent, slowly getting more twisted as he himself grew darker and darker until the darkness of the plots and scripts he wrote were reflected in how he treated his 'actors'
Tall, yet is somehow the second shortest of the fallen heroes. Mystic Flour is the shortest and Burning Spice is the tallest. He's the same height as eternal sugar.
What began his corruption was his endless thirst to know more about the world, about everything. You could say that here, Curiosity killed the Cookie.
I can also imagine that he knew the truth of the witches banquet. Yet he never physically attended it. I can imagine that the witch that created the heroes told him what the other witches did, yet also taking a bit of an absent role in the lives of Cookie-kind.
Founder of the Blueberry Academy, it may have been the only place he had the mind to spare in his reign of terror.
Also, also, hella touch starved but doesn't really know how to seek it out.
And that's pretty much all for now... for now.

Hello hope you doing well
If you wanted to describe each die en grey member what would you said?
like which one is the most angry one or which one is the kindest.........
Hello! Sorry for the late reply.
I think I already answered a similar question, but I'm actually bad at describing people anyway... In reference to your example though, Kyo is definitely the angriest; everyone in the band is backing him up, but there's some raw anger in his performance and art for sure that I don't think any of them singlehandedly harbours. He's not afraid to show his mood and, in that sense, his mood can change on a dime a lot faster than any of the other members. But he's also funny and very considerate. He feels like he needs to do as much as he can with all the time at his disposal, which is why he started three bands, and he's typically never late to anything. He does what he wants and rarely even does reluctantly what he doesn't want to do, if he can avoid it altogether.
Shinya would without a doubt be the kindest. He doesn't mock anyone and he always speaks in the more formal version of Japanese (verbs ending with -masu for example). I personally love his sense of humor, which consists of giving the dumbest statements and replying: "Huh?!" when called out on them. He is quite smart beneath it all, as he's completed tons of quizzes, challenge games and even some kanji test for how many he's memorized. I'd be remiss not to mention that he is the quietest member as well, and he is the most stoic drummer even though he bangs like a beast on his drums.
Kaoru is the ever collected one. It seems so rare for him to act 'crazy' or excitedly. It's like he's always surveying the situation and maintaining control. But he's not controlling as an individual or leader, maybe just a perfectionist and, from what I grasped, an artist who works at his own pace hah.
Die gives me the sense of "aloof" and "mystical" on stage, and I feel like I'd know him more if I had subscribed to Die-mobile all those years ago. He seems calm as well, and since working on his physique in the last couple of years, he certainly has discipline. Out of the five of them, he is definitely the one who enjoys touring outside of Japan the most, probably because he speaks a little bit of English. He's very warm, at least to fans, from what I've seen.
Toshiya is also immensely warm and kind, but he does burst out in acts of, like, rebellion and intensity unexpectedly sometimes. I still remember him either doing a back or front flip out of nowhere at a show that happened on his birthday; unnecessary and coming out of nowhere hah. He's very devoted and between him and Die, I think he is the one who smiles the most. Toshiya is a close second behind Kyo for most theatrical as well.
Yeah, that sucked, but hopefully it's a satisfying response for you, at least!

The Sanctum was unusually quiet, the typical hum of mystic energy replaced by an almost eerie stillness. Stephen pushed open the heavy door, his brows furrowed in suspicion. He had been expecting...something. Maybe another interdimensional disturbance, or Serena tinkering with her tech in one of the study rooms.
Suddenly, a loud POP echoed through the room. The lights flickered on, revealing a burst of confetti showering from above. Handmade streamers of every color hung haphazardly around the room, and a banner reading "Happy Birthday, Stephen!" dangled slightly crooked near the ceiling.
Serena jumped out from behind the couch, her hands raised theatrically.
“Surprise!” she exclaimed, grinning ear to ear. “Don’t worry, I didn’t invite the whole Avengers gang this time. This is a low-key celebration. Just us, a cake I didn’t burn, and, of course, my award-winning decorations.”
(@serenastark-official @wong-the-not-wizard)
"You didn't burn the cake? Well, that's a surprise. Am I in the right universe?" He joked. He glanced around... this was.. nice actually. "Decorations are nice"

ECSTASY OF SAINT TERESA | 1645-52 | by GIAN LORENZO BERNINI
The sculpture portrays SAINT TERESA in a state of divine ecstasy as she receives a vision from an angel, described in her autobiography as a seraph piercing her heart with a flaming arrow. BERNINI captures this moment with exquisite detail and dynamism.
The composition has a sense of movement and drama. SAINT TERESA reclines on a cloud, her body twisted and contorted in ecstasy. The angel hovers above her, poised to strike with the arrow of divine love. The theatricality of the scene draws the viewer into the moment of mystical rapture.
BERNINI excels in conveying intense emotion through his sculptural forms. SAINT TERESA'S face is a mix of ecstasy and agony, her eyes closed in blissful surrender. The angel's expression is one of divine intensity, as if channeling the power of heaven itself.
The sculpture is rich in intricate details, from the delicate folds of SAINT TERESA'S robes to the feathers of the angel's wings. BERNINI'S mastery of anatomy is evident in the naturalistic rendering of the human form, imbuing the figures with a sense of lifelike vitality.
The sculpture is laden with symbolic meaning, reflecting the spiritual themes of SAINT TERESA'S writings. The arrow piercing her heart symbolizes the divine love that consumes her soul, while the cloud represents the ethereal realm of heavenly visions.
The sculpture generated some controversy due to BERNINI'S artistic choices, such as portraying SAINT TERESA as younger and in a suggestive pose. However, it remains a significant work in art history, showcasing BERNINI'S mastery in fusing sculpture, architecture, and theatrical scenography into a single, captivating piece of art.
