Tumblr media
You’d always known you were a vengeful person.
From the day you’d started hating your babysitter for insulting your favorite toy, to the time you’d tried to explode your leech of a landlord with your mind every month, you’d been well aware: you did not take kindly to being wronged.
You had no true power of your own, no—timid and unimposing, you’d been forced to restrict your retaliation to the hypothetical, the mental. Death wishes, prayers for misfortune, and fantasies of karma were your safe haven—the space in your mind where no one could reach you with insult or ridicule, where the judgment of others was your sole prerogative.
For years, you’d lived this way, worked this way. Discredited and discarded, excluded and exploited, you’d sought comfort in your capacity to think, to imagine. To imagine retribution for those who would never be dealt it—at least, not from your inconsequential hand.
But this time, your mere imagination would not be enough.
For the last month, a clique of obnoxious coworkers had been harassing you nonstop, stewing in jealousy after your recent promotion. Day after day, they’d tried to break your spirit, and day after day, they inched closer to success. The thinly veiled barbs, harsh criticisms, and shameless attempts to steal your work were eating away at you, no matter how vividly you imagined retaliating in the safety of your mind, dissolving each perpetrator to dust for their needless hostility.
The dam broke the day they’d found your weak spot, launching a full-on attack on you. Not your skill, not your work, but the unchangeable traits that already kept you awake at night, wishing you could be something greater. Your shyness, your weakness, your simple approach to the world—everything that made you who you were, they’d picked apart.
You don’t recall how you’d gotten home that day—only the wings of a crow fluttering above you as you floated down the familiar streets on autopilot. You’d stepped through the door withdrawn nearly into catatonia, recoiling from sounds and flinching from touches.
Sylus hadn’t liked that.
After years of lonely independence—not what you’d chosen but all you could handle—you’re still adjusting to relying on someone else to preserve your honor. Especially when that person has everything you lack: an imposing form, an authoritative voice, effortless assurance, and unrivaled strength.
Sylus can make your hypotheticals—your unfulfilling, pathetic hypotheticals—into reality. Without lifting a finger, without breaking a sweat.
So when you return to his home in a shell of dejection, drained of the life you’d graciously breathed into his, that’s precisely what he plans to do.
Someone had upset you—terribly so. The moment he’d claimed you, held your trembling, uncertain form in his, he’d set a very high price for that.
Tumblr media
In the back room of Onychinus’s main warehouse, your body tremors in anticipation. Tonight, your defenses are more than psychological. Tonight, for the first time, you’ll know the intoxicating security of capability.
As you wait for Sylus’s cue, your mind wanders to the aftermath of that day. Once you’d come back to him, looked into his eyes with something more than blankness, he’d approached you. Gathering you into his arms, he’d asked what’d happened—who’d happened—pressing sweet kisses to your temple and lips whenever your voice would break.
He’d holed up in his office after he’d seen you to bed, compiling all the information he could find—a lot, with his resources—on the three men who’d tormented you. Their names, addresses, roles in the company, aspirations—anything that’d be useful in luring them to his turf.
And now, he’s asked you to stay out of sight and wait for his signal as he lulls his suspects with the false promise of a good deal.
Just as you feel the familiar impulse to flee threaten your resolve, a too-realistic caw and the steady flaps of metal wings snap you out of your thoughts. As the omnipresent crow lands on your shoulder, nuzzling your cheek in programmed affection, you walk slowly to the heavy door, steeling yourself before sliding it open.
In the dim light of the square room, you feel his presence before you see him, his cool authority drawing you to him like a magnet. You come to a soft stop behind his chair, draping one arm over his shoulders, the other on his chest, as he introduces you as his partner. And with a tense, shuddering breath, you tighten your grip on him as you raise your eyes to meet the men who’d nearly broken you.
Apparently, though, your true reunion has been put on hold, as their careless eyes are busy ogling your body in proprietary glee.
When Sylus clears his throat, they seem to remember where they are and who they’re with, and three pairs of eyes finally deign to meet yours. Almost immediately, those eyes flicker in recognition, the faces of their owners blanching with nerves.
And that reaction is the smoking gun—the only evidence Sylus needs to enact their damnation.
In an instant, crimson ropes with black undertones snake around the men’s immobilized bodies, suspending them in midair before inching up to muffle the groans that catch in their rigid throats.
Rising from his seat, Sylus bends to kiss your forehead before blocking your view with his back. “Don’t peek, sweetie,” he hums as he extends one large hand, dancing his index finger in a line of X’s. As he moves, hundreds of tiny, twisting cuts appear around each man’s neck, their countless wounds dripping with thin streams of blood.
Completing his design, he clenches his fist, and the ropes tighten to drain their prey at a much greater volume.
A few seconds later and he drops his hand, the men’s half-emptied, half-alive bodies hitting the floor in one simultaneous thud.
From behind the broad panes of Sylus’s back, you're not supposed to see his carnage, the way his victims can’t even beg him for mercy with the blood clogging their windpipes.
But with your hands on his narrow waist, supporting you as you peek around him in disobedience, the image of what he’s done for you and its surprisingly comfortable weight settle on your now relaxed shoulders.
It’s not the mess on the floor, but the principle of his actions—the urgency with which he moved to avenge his own.
You want to thank him. You want to worship him.
Oblivious to the desire thrumming in your heart, Sylus finally turns around, ready to usher you out of the room. When he reaches for you, though, you intercept his arm, panting softly up at him with wide eyes.
Mistaking your expression as terror, he moves to step back, but you shake your head vehemently and tug him toward you, your feet firmly rooted in place on the tiled black floor.
Wordlessly, you paw frantically at his shirt and belt—anything that can come off—with your usually nimble fingers trembling and clumsy from the rush of energy in your veins.
As you manage to undo the first button of his shirt, realization dawns on his face, lightening his stormy garnet eyes in a mix of shock and relief.
“You’re a naughty little thing, aren’t you?” he breathes, his large hand covering yours on his buttons and freezing your advances momentarily.
With an impatient huff, you look up at him and open your mouth in protest, but he speaks before you can.
“For a moment, I thought I'd made you fear me again,” he admits with a shaky chuckle. “Evidently I was wrong, and although I'm glad to know that…are you sure you want to do this here, sweetie?” he checks, peering down at you with a searching gaze.
Finding your voice, you use his loosened shirt to pull him down to your height, caressing his chiseled jaw in your hand. “I want you to take me. Here, in front of all of them. I want them to watch the man who’ll take their lives take my heart in his hands. Will you do that for me?”
He’ll do anything for you.
And so, softly maneuvering your body, Sylus repositions you to stand in front of him and angles your gaze to the reflective steel ceiling, not allowing the filth on the floor to enter your line of sight. He supposes they can look at you—it won’t matter for much longer, anyway—but he refuses to let you look at them any longer, to let your intimacy be tainted by the memories of what they’d done.
Slowly, he trails his unoccupied hand down to grope your full breasts, humming in approval when he feels your pebbling nipples. Pinching your right peak softly, he murmurs into your left ear, surrounding you on all sides. “You like what I’ve done, I presume? Are you pleased with me?”
Moaning softly, you arch back into him, pushing your chest further into his welcoming hand. Tilting your head back as far as his iron grip allows, you turn your face to brush his cheek as his fingers continue working your aching nipple. “It’s not what you’ve done to them,” you breathe against him, “it’s what you’ve done for me.”
With another moan, you rock your hips back between his legs, feeling the sizable bulge that grows harder with each reaction you give him.
With the strength in his one free hand, the other still aiming your gaze toward the ceiling, he tears the front of your flimsy dress open, your breasts spilling out in smooth bounces.
Sylus groans deeply at the visual, his palm coming up to grope and knead your tender flesh between his calloused fingers.
“Tell me,” he whispers, pressing a kiss to the pulse in your neck. “How should I take you, hmm? Hard and fast, so they know I pace you, or slow and deep, so my love is clear?”
Leaving your breast with a last tug at your nipple, he lowers his hand to dip his fingers under the hem of your exposed panties, gliding between your glistening folds. Extending two long digits, he slips them into your fluttering entrance, sliding in and out with ease from the intensity of your arousal.
As he pumps his fingers inside you, your walls clenching around him in search of something larger, you’re barely able to formulate a response. Luckily, your answer is simple.
“Everything,” you moan to him. “Everything you can give me—I want it all.”
With a rumbling groan, Sylus gives you a final deep thrust with his fingers, dragging them inside your walls to collect all of your essence. Pulling them out of you with a wet pop, he swiftly sticks them in his mouth, swirling his tongue around the digits as he savors your taste. Standing up on your toes, you push your mouth to his, slipping your tongue past his lips to steal what’s left of your flavor. A string of saliva connects you as you part, only snapping when Sylus shifts to free the heavy bulge from his straining slacks.
Mewling, you try to push your hips back, desperately searching for whatever friction you can find. But with a light tap to your hip, he holds you in place, thwarting your attempt to bring him closer. “Be patient for me, won’t you?” he asks. “I’ve wanted you like this for so long—surely you’ll let me lead?”
And although you’ve vowed against letting anyone lead you, letting anyone take charge of you lest you get burned, you remember the power he’d gifted you only an hour ago, the writhing bodies still littering the floor behind you. His grand display of care, devotion, and understanding. Without a second thought, you find yourself nodding frantically in his embrace, his hand on your jaw briefly loosening with the force.
With a soft, unnecessary apology, you still, allowing yourself to fall pliant in his hands. Against your ear, you feel his lips curl into a smile.
“Eyes up,” he whispers as he sinks into you.
The intrusion is slow, and thanks to the wetness leaking out of you, you suction in his oversized length with only a slight discomfort. With a gentle push, he fully seats himself inside you, and you both release a breathy moan—yours at the wholeness, his at the tightness.
After one sublime moment, your bodies almost merged with your closeness, he pulls out slowly, leaving just the head of his shaft inside you before surging forward in an all-encompassing thrust. Mouth falling open, you unconsciously tilt your hips back to meet him, and he growls his approval.
“I’ll give you everything,” he rumbles with another deep thrust. “Everything you want, everyone you want it done to—that’s my promise to you,” he vows, biting your ear. “Not a single being will harm you without paying the price—the price they pay as they look up at us with their last glances, wishing with all they have left to be in my place instead.”
As he speaks, he quickens his measured strokes into powerful snaps of his hips—pacing you, just as he’d said. His promise and his movements are all too much, and you feel a sweet ache start to spread within your lower belly.
Trying and failing to match his bruising thrusts, you babble out your admiration, the words that have circled your brain since he’d first told you his plans.
“Thank you,” you pant, drawing in shuddering breaths. “I-I know I shut down on you sometimes, but I’m not used to having someone to care for me—having someone who can. I’ve only ever protected myself, a-and only ever in my head. I’m not strong enough, or assertive enough, to do anything you do for me and I love you so much for it—love you so much that I’m jealous of you, and it only makes me love you more,” you finish with a whimper.
At your confession, Sylus grips your hip in his hand and fucks into you with renewed fervor, jostling every part of your body but your head, still securely angled toward the sky. The pounding starts a quake in your legs, and you slump into his strong chest, entrusting yourself to him as he pushes you both over the edge. With a few more sharp thrusts and a stinging bite on your neck, he spills into you in thick, hot spurts, and the sensation has you gushing around him. With an unrestrained cry, you dig your nails into his arm, and he presses impossibly closer to you.
“However much you think you love me, know that it hardly compares to the obsession I feel towards you.”
As you’re lost in the pleasure of your joint release, murky red and black wisps coil around the figures twitching on the floor, enshrouding them in an eerie haze. With near inaudible crackles, they erode the forgotten flesh of their targets, twisting and curling, bending and snapping, until the floor is cleared of sin.
Sylus, who’d captured your attention with a devoted kiss in the comedown of your orgasm, slowly releases you once his work is done. Breathless, you hover near his mouth, eager to ask for more, when you notice his firm grip has left your jaw—you’re free to look as you please.
With his length still inside you, pulsing softly and coated with your combined essence, you twist in his arms, expecting the lifeless shapes on the floor to sully the peace of the moment, to resurface the desolation in you that'd led to their demise.
But as you peer down at the shiny black tiles, you see nothing but yourselves—a smaller figure entwined in the consuming embrace of a much larger one.
“How do you feel?” a deep voice purrs into your ear. Craning your neck to look at its pleased owner, you sensually press yourself back, burying his already hardening length deeper into its nest. With a soft smile, you claim his lips in an unhurried kiss, tender and reverent and lewd.
When you pull away, he splays a possessive hand over your abdomen. He rests his chin atop your head as he resumes his pumps in and out of you, gradually quickening his controlled movements.
Fluttering your eyes closed, you breathe in with contentment. The air around you has grown a little lighter with the deletion of those who’d dared to waste it.

do you think Wilson cries after his first time having sex with House because:
a) it all catches up to him at once that he's spent his entire life not feeling right but now he's finally figured it out, and imagine how his life would've gone if he knew about this part earlier, or
b) big gay freakout and shame and guilt at feeling good through gay sex and catastrophising so hard, freaking out about how he's meant to exist in the world as a boy-kisser now etc etc etc
(somehow I don't see him not crying after fucking House for the first time. or at least in the morning or in his car to work the next day where House can't see/make fun of him for it)
Ooooohhhhh WHAT a beautiful question!!!! And such a hard one to answer because I can see all possibilities equally!
In a canon compliant-ish universe, I'm going to go with B bc both of those guys are unable to keep themselves from self destructing. Wilson tries very hard to keep it together and is all like "yeah. yeah that was great. totally. yeah." and then sneaks off to the bathroom while house is still enjoying his post-orgasmic bliss so he can pace and cry and mutter to himself about how fucked this all is. He feels deeply ashamed that he enjoyed it so much, ashamed that it felt so right after so many years of sex feeling wrong. Ashamed about what this means for him as a man, as a person, as a role model.
He's not homophobic per say, he has no problem with other people being gay, but he's still a "straight" man who grew up surrounded by certain predispositions that are hard to let go of. He's never viewed himself as queer and now he's been given explicit, unadulterated, undeniable proof that he is in fact very queer and it feels like he knows even less about who he is when he already had no fucking clue who he is.
And then he has to grapple with what this means for them, for their relationship. And that's a whole other bull for him to wrestle. Even if it felt right to him, who knows how house actually feels? What if this fucked everything up? What if House doesn't feel the way he feels? What if he does??? He's definitely in the middle of this freak out, tears streaming down his face, rocking himself back and forth on the toilet, when there's a knock on the door and House telling him that he needs to piss. Wilson tells him to use the kitchen sink, he's busy, but house immediately can tell that he's been crying and now he feels like he's fucked it all. Cue house having his own meltdown about the whole situation and neither of them having a healthy conversation about it.
I feel like option A comes later, after he's grappled with the facts of himself, that he's queer and in love with House and there's nothing he can do about it except accept it and either take a chance at being happy or attempt to return to the status quo. Maybe it's after they have sex a second time, after they've spent a couple of weeks being stupid and evasive and awkward around each other, ultimately leading to house picking until wilson explodes and they finally have a conversation about it all. Only then, after all of that and after they've spent a long time in bed about it, do the tears return and house thinks they're taking four steps backwards, until wilson tells him that it just hit him all at once, how he spent his entire life feeling wrong and now he feels right and he wishes they could've had this all along. It's not fair and it's stupid and even if he's happy, he's so mad that he's been missing out on something so wonderful. There's shame there too about the fact that he's allowed himself to be so repressed for so long that he feels like he's missed out on the best years of his life that he could've spent loving house. I think no matter the outcome, there's going to be a certain level of shame and resentment towards himself that will take a long time to let go of, if he ever does.
But in Wilson's defense, house can only make fun of him so much when he canonically cries during sex!! Which he totally did when he had sex with Wilson!!

went into the notes of that poll going around about if people want more seasons of supernatural and was immediately slapped in the face with how different my priorities are in this fandom from. a lot of it. what are you talking about ‘destiel endgame’. girl the show has bigger problems to fix than that if it ever had more seasons. they taught a three year old that the best way to be loved was to continuously try to kill himself and then they made him god.

Having brain worms. What if uhhhhhh SOS Mianite au
#this is a fully undeveloped idea but it is simmering#initial thoughts. mog is so champion of ianite. fwip is dianite's.#I'm not convinced of who mianite's is yet but i feel like sausage is desperately vying for the role and getting repeatedly rejected#oli ends up as a reluctant ianitee. he was originally a dianite follower but dianite found him annoying and was a dick so oli ditched him.#ianite finds him funny and decides to pick him up and now he's trying very hard not to mess it up bc she actually respects him#joel would claim not to need any stupid god until he sees how much fun fwip is having causing problems on purpose with dianite and gives in.#his wife joining up with dianite probably also doesn't desuade him in that department#jimmy isn't particularly keen on any of them. he's off doing his own thing#katherine feels very classic mianitee to me.#I've got mixed feelings on Pix. i kind of feel like he should be on his own thing (priest? wizard? something like that)#if not he's ianitee i think. but it takes him awhile to commit#joey's dianitee. eloise feels ianitee to me. shubble probably mianitee.#is that everyone? i think that's everyone#idk if this would be a scenario where the world/plot was more based on mianite or sos honestly#maybe a healthy mix.#do we keep the death/fate coin element? idk idk maybe not? but it doesn't feel like sos without some hardcore element#gotta sit on it#this is the first time in a long time I've just done like straight up stream of consciousness brainstorming in the tags of a post huh#feels very 2020#OWEN I FORGOT OWEN. UH. i feel like he might help balance out the mianite team. i can't put it into worlds but it feels right#he's the type of guy that you look at and immediately think dianite and you're wrong#but i could be tempted to switch him and joey. cause joey did have the whole prison thing in sos which is very mianite#even if he's generally the most dianitee guy i have ever fucking seen#i. i also forgot scott.#embarrassing. I've been watching him the longest and he's the only one on this list I've actually written into mianite crossovers before#uhhhh anyways he feels very true neutral to me. he's another one who i feel like maybe he should be off doing his own thing#if not probably mianite#this is such a mess lmao#i had to put the idea down somewhere before my head exploded sorry

Summary: After winning his fourth world championship, Max Verstappen stuns the world with a live radio proposal.

MAX VERSTAPPEN MASTERLIST | MAIN MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Max Verstappen crossed the finish line in fifth place, but that didn’t matter. The entire world was fixated on the fact that he had just won his fourth World Championship.
“AND MAX VERSTAPPEN DOES IT AGAIN! FOUR WORLD TITLES!” David Croft shouted, his voice teetering on the edge of hysteria. The Las Vegas skyline lit up like a fireworks display on overdrive, the crowd roaring in approval.
“Forget where he finished—he’s a four-time world champion!” Martin Brundle yelled, equally excited. “This is history!”
Max, however, barely seemed to notice he’d crossed the line in fifth. He was just… Max. Calm. Collected. His voice came through the radio, steady as always, but with a hint of amusement.
“Thanks, guys. It’s been an incredible season. I’m so proud of the team. Huge thanks to GP, Christian, everyone.”
“You’ve done it, Max! Four-time champion, man!” GP screamed, clearly unable to keep the excitement in. “This is massive, mate! You’ve earned this!”
“Yeah, I know,” Max said, his voice deadpan. “But listen, there’s one more thing.”
The radio went quiet for a second.
“Uh… What’s that, Max?” GP asked, his tone suddenly cautious.
Max didn’t respond right away. Then, he casually dropped the bomb.
“Y/n, a bet’s a bet. We’re getting married tonight.”
“WHAT?!” GP exploded. “WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY?”
Max’s tone didn’t change. “We’re getting married. Vegas chapel. Tonight.”
The entire Red Bull garage froze. Even the other engineers looked around in total confusion.
Max continued, his voice as if he were discussing the weather. “It’s been planned. I won the fourth title, she agreed to the bet, so… wedding time.”
GP sputtered. “Max, you—WHAT? No, no, no. You can’t just say that on the radio! You can’t just—”
“I’m doing it,” Max said, already tired of the conversation. “It’s happening. Vegas. Tonight.”
The radio was dead silent for a long moment, then GP finally spoke, his voice laced with a mixture of disbelief and dread. “Max, I—What in the world did I just hear? Are you seriously making your wedding announcement over the team radio?”
“Of course, I’m serious,” Max replied. “She said if I won my fourth title in Vegas, I could pick the wedding date. So, I picked tonight.”
“Max, you can’t—you—what the hell is wrong with you?!” GP spluttered.
Back in the commentary booth, David Croft could barely hold it together. “Did Max Verstappen just announce his wedding on live radio after winning his fourth world championship? Is that what I just heard?!”
“I think that’s exactly what you heard, Crofty,” Martin Brundle said, voice dripping with astonishment. “This is pure, unfiltered Verstappen.”
David Crofty just stared at the screen, blinking in disbelief. “Honestly, I can’t even process this. We’ve seen some wild moments in F1, but this... this might just take the cake.”
“Yeah,” Brundle said with a chuckle. “You can’t script this stuff. Not even in Vegas.”
Meanwhile, in Red Bull’s hospitality area, Y/n was standing stock-still, her eyes wide as she stared at the screen. The radio call still blaring in her ears.
“Did—did he just announce our wedding? Like… right now?!” she hissed, her hand gripping the counter in disbelief.
A Red Bull mechanic standing nearby looked just as stunned. “Uh, I think he did, yeah.”
“He’s lost it,” one engineer muttered under his breath, his face pale.
“I don’t even know what’s happening anymore,” another whispered.
The others weren’t any better off, most of them looking like they might faint. A PR rep came over, trying to maintain professionalism but clearly in shock. “Y/n, um… Max just… did he just announce your wedding?”
“Don’t look at me,” Y/n groaned, burying her face in her hands. “I can’t even… He’s the worst.”
“Vegas, baby!” another joked, only to get smacked in the arm by Y/n as she stormed past.
Back on the track, Max, utterly relaxed, parked his car in parc fermé and stepped out, throwing his helmet in the air before catching it like it was no big deal.
“So, yeah,” Max said, grinning at the cameras. “Got my fourth title, and now I get to marry my girl. Vegas chapel, let’s go!”
The reporters and photographers surrounding him stared at him in utter confusion.
“Wait, what? You’re—what?!” one reporter stammered.
Max smirked. “Yep, Vegas. I won, she lost, and now we’re getting married.”
He tossed a thumbs-up to the camera as if it were a completely normal thing to say.
“Max,” one reporter finally managed, “you’re serious about this, right? You’re really getting married in Vegas?”
Max’s grin widened. “I’m serious. A bet’s a bet. No turning back.”
Back in the Red Bull garage, chaos had officially set in. Christian Horner, who had been pacing for the last five minutes, finally stopped and glared at a nearby mechanic. “What am I supposed to do with this now?!”
“I don’t know, Christian,” the mechanic said, holding up his hands in defeat. “Maybe we start picking out flowers?”
“Someone get me a drink,” Christian muttered, walking off, leaving a sea of confusion behind him.
Y/n stormed through the paddock like a woman possessed, her face a mix of disbelief, panic, and barely contained rage.
She spotted Max leaning casually against a barrier in parc fermé, looking like he had no care in the world—despite having just announced their impending Vegas wedding to the entire world. He was surrounded by Lewis, Fernando, George, and Carlos, who were all still there congratulating him and clearly trying to comprehend what had just happened.
“MAX!” Y/n screeched as she closed the distance.
Max turned, his smug grin stretching even wider. “Oh, there she is! The future Mrs. Verstappen. Took you long enough.”
Y/n planted herself directly in front of him, glaring. “WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?”
Max blinked, his expression far too innocent. “What? I kept my promise.”
“Your promise?” Y/n echoed, incredulous. “You hijacked the championship celebration to announce a fake wedding! On LIVE TELEVISION!”
“It’s not fake,” Max said matter-of-factly. “A bet is a bet.”
Carlos, standing nearby, raised an eyebrow. “Wait, wait, wait. You bet your wedding on the championship?”
“Of course,” Max said with a shrug, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “I’m a man of my word.”
George choked on air. “You’re a menace.”
“Exactly,” Y/n said, throwing her hands in the air. “Max, this is insane! You can’t just—”
“Relax, schatje,” Max interrupted, his tone annoyingly casual. “It’s Vegas. This is what people do here.”
“Not normal people!” Y/n snapped.
Lewis, still dabbing at his face with a towel, gave a bewildered laugh. “I’m sorry, are we actually talking about a real wedding right now?”
“Yes,” Max said confidently. “Tonight.”
“No,” Y/n shot back.
“Yes.”
“MAX!”
“Yes, Y/n,” Max said, leaning forward slightly. “We are getting married tonight, and that’s final.”
“Final?!” she spluttered. “How is this final? There’s no plan, no venue, no—”
“Vegas has plenty of chapels,” Max interrupted smoothly.
“I don’t have a dress!”
“You’ll look great in anything,” Max countered.
Y/n groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I don’t even have someone to walk me down the aisle!”
Max tilted his head, clearly unbothered. “Oh, that’s easy.” He turned to his left, where Lewis stood mid-sip from his water bottle. “Lewis! Can you walk Y/n down the aisle tonight?”
Lewis froze, the bottle halfway to his mouth. “What?”
“Can you walk her down the aisle?” Max repeated, as if this were a completely reasonable request.
“I—” Lewis blinked, looking between Max and Y/n. “Uh… sure?”
“What?! No!” Y/n shouted.
“Why me?” Lewis asked, baffled.
Max shrugged. “You’re a world champion. She deserves someone of high status.”
Before Y/n could combust, Fernando Alonso stepped forward, a sly grin on his face. “Hold on,” he said, raising a hand. “If anyone is walking her down the aisle, it should be me. I’m the most appropriate for the role.”
Lewis turned to him, visibly confused. “How do you figure that?”
Fernando gave a dramatic shrug. “Experience. I’m wiser, more distinguished. A father figure, if you will.”
Y/n groaned, “Oh my God, Fernando—”
Lewis snorted. “Father figure? Please. More like grandfather figure.”
The group exploded into laughter. George doubled over, wheezing, while Carlos clapped a hand over his mouth to stifle his own cackles.
“You wound me, Hamilton,” Fernando said, his tone mock-offended.
“Yeah, but I’m not wrong,” Lewis quipped, smirking.
“This is not happening,” Y/n muttered, covering her face with her hands.
Max leaned closer to her, his grin pure mischief. “See? Problem solved. You have two excellent candidates to walk you down the aisle.”
“This is NOT solved!” Y/n screeched.
George finally spoke up, still chuckling. “You know, for the record, this is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen”
“Agreed,” Carlos said, shaking his head with a grin. “But I can’t look away.”
Max clapped his hands together. “Alright, then. We’re all set! Lewis or Fernando—it’s Y/n’s choice.”
“I CHOOSE NEITHER!” she yelled, clearly on the verge of a breakdown.
Max leaned back, entirely unfazed. “Suit yourself. But one way or another, schatje, we’re getting married tonight.”
Y/n turned to the other drivers, her eyes pleading. “Can someone PLEASE talk some sense into him?”
Lewis shrugged. “I don’t know, Y/n. He seems pretty set on it. You might just have to roll with it.”
Fernando smirked. “And let me know when you decide. I’ll be practicing my ‘giving away the bride’ speech.”
George buried his face in his hands again, mumbling, “This is a fever dream.”
Y/n, meanwhile, was contemplating her life choices as Max grinned at her, utterly pleased with himself. This was going to be a nightmare—and she was the star attraction.
Suddenly, Lando came sprinting out of nowhere, practically skidding to a stop in front of Max. His curls were a chaotic mess, and his face was split into an ear-to-ear grin that made him look like an overexcited puppy.
“MAX!” Lando yelled, throwing his arms up. “FOUR-TIME WORLD CHAMPION! YOU LEGEND! Also mate, what the hell?! Are you really getting married?!”
Max turned, his ever-present grin widening. “Obviously.”
“I thought it was just a rumor!” Lando said, flinging his helmet onto a nearby table. “I mean, come on, you say insane stuff on the radio all the time! I figured this was one of those things.”
“Nope.” Max popped the “p” for emphasis. “It’s happening. Tonight.”
Y/n, who had been pacing nearby in a futile attempt to process her life choices, groaned audibly. “I hate all of you. All of you.”
Lando glanced at her, then back at Max. “Wait, so this is real? Like… actually real?”
“As real as it gets,” Max replied, clapping Lando on the shoulder. “And since you’re here…”
Lando squinted. “Since I’m here, what?”
Max’s grin turned sly, his hand still on Lando’s shoulder. “How do you feel about being my best man tonight?”
Lando froze, his mouth opening and closing like a goldfish. “Wait, what?”
“You heard me,” Max said, still looking far too pleased with himself.
“Me?!” Lando gestured wildly at himself, his voice rising an octave. “Why me?!”
“Why not you?” Max countered smoothly.
“I don’t know!” Lando threw up his hands. “You could ask your trainer, your engineer—anyone! We’ve been rivals this entire year!”
Max tilted his head, his expression softening slightly. “Exactly. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs this year, yeah? Fighting for the championship and everything. But at the end of the day…” He paused, his grin shifting to something more genuine. “You’re a good friend, Lando. One of the best. And I’d like us to bury the hatchet. Tonight.”
The sudden sincerity hit Lando like a truck. His eyes widened, his lip quivering just a little as he stared at Max. “Max…”
The group went quiet—well, as quiet as it could be with the chaos of the paddock swirling around them. Even Y/n stopped pacing to stare, her eyebrows raised in surprise.
“You really mean that?” Lando asked, his voice thick with emotion.
“Of course,” Max said, giving Lando a firm pat on the back. “You’ve been there through all of it, mate. Who else would I want standing next to me tonight?”
Lando’s hand flew to his face, his bottom lip wobbling. “Oh my God. I think I’m gonna cry.”
“Don’t cry,” George mumbled, clearly trying to stifle a laugh. “This is ridiculous enough already.”
“Shut up, George!” Lando snapped, though it lacked any real venom. He sniffled, blinking rapidly. “Max, you big idiot. That’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.”
Max smirked. “Well, don’t get used to it.”
Y/n, watching this entire exchange with her arms crossed, muttered under her breath, “I cannot believe this is my life right now.”
Carlos, standing nearby, leaned over to George and whispered, “Do you think Lando will actually cry at the altar?”
“Oh, 100%,” George replied without hesitation.
“I’M NOT CRYING!” Lando shouted, wiping furiously at his eyes.
“Sure, mate,” Carlos said, grinning.
“Shut up!” Lando whirled back to Max, pointing a slightly wobbly finger at him. “Fine! I’ll do it. I’ll be your best man. But only because that was the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.”
“Good.” Max nodded approvingly. “We’re gonna have a great time. Bring tissues, though. You’ll need them.”
Lando groaned. “You’re impossible.”
“And you’re emotional,” Max teased, clapping him on the back again.
“Can I leave now?” Y/n interjected, looking thoroughly exasperated.
“Nope,” Max said cheerfully. “We’ve still got wedding planning to do. And Lando needs to rehearse his speech.”
“Speech?!” Lando exclaimed, his face paling. “No one said anything about a speech!”
“Oh, come on,” Carlos said, grinning. “Just wing it.”
“This is a nightmare,” Y/n muttered.
“See, schatje?” Max said, turning to her with a mischievous smile. “Everything’s settled”
“Kill me now,” she groaned, dragging her hands down her face.
“Not before the wedding,” Max quipped. “I need my bride alive, schatje.”
Carlos, grinning, nudged George. “Do you think she’ll kill him before they even make it to the altar?”
“I actually might” Y/n snapped, making everyone laugh—except her.
Max clapped his hands together, cutting through the lingering laughter. “Alright, boys, fun’s over. See you after the podium, yeah?”
Carlos snorted, throwing an arm around George. “Come on, hombre. Let’s get out of here before they decide to do something crazier.”
Max turned to Carlos, his grin turning devious. “Speaking of you, Carlos, I need another groomsman. What do you say?”
Carlos blinked, clearly caught off guard. “Me? Really?”
“Obviously,” Max said, rolling his eyes. “You’re good at standing around looking pretty. Perfect for the job.”
“I’m honored,” Carlos said, puffing out his chest dramatically.
Y/n, standing a few feet away, raised her hand. “Dibs on George for my side, then.”
George’s eyebrows shot up. “Wait, what?”
“I called dibs,” Y/n said firmly, crossing her arms.
“That’s not how this works!” Max exclaimed, glaring at her.
“It is now,” she shot back, grinning.
Max groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “You are impossible.”
“You’re marrying me,” she said sweetly. “This is your problem now.”
Before Max could argue further, he grabbed her hand, tugging her away from the group. “We need to pick more people. Properly.”
As they walked through the paddock, Max started listing names under his breath. “Alright, I want Charles on my side.”
“No way,” Y/n said immediately.
Max frowned. “Why not?”
“Because I’m picking him,” Y/n declared, speeding up her pace as soon as she spotted Charles standing by his car.
Max groaned. “You can’t just steal all the good ones!”
“Watch me.”
By the time they reached Charles, Y/n was already stepping in front of Max, her grin wicked. “Charles! You’re going to be my maid of honor.”
Charles looked up, his face blank with confusion. “Wait, what?”
Max shoved Y/n aside, scowling. “Ignore her, Charles. You’re going to be one of my groomsmen.”
“No, he’s not!” Y/n snapped, stepping back in front of Max.
“Yes, he is!” Max shot back, sidestepping her.
Charles blinked between them, his brows furrowing. “What is happening right now?”
“You’re gonna help me with my wedding,” Y/n said, grinning like she’d just won the lottery. “It’s happening tonight.”
Charles just stared at her, still not sure if he was in a dream or being pranked. “Uh… are you serious?”
“Charles, listen to me,” Y/n said, grabbing his hands dramatically. “I need you on my side. You’re the only one who understands how insane Max is.”
Max pulled her back by the shoulder. “He does not understand that! He’s my friend, not yours.”
Charles raised a hand. “Guys, what—”
“Do you really want to stand next to Max?” Y/n asked, cutting him off.
Max glared at her. “Do you really want to be stuck with her?”
“I feel like I don’t want to be stuck with either of you,” Charles said cautiously, his confusion growing.
“Charles,” Y/n pleaded, gripping his arm. “Please. You’ll get to wear something cool”
Charles blinked, still completely befuddled. “I… I don’t know what’s happening. Am I even invited to this wedding? Because you’re asking me to do a lot without any context.”
“Don’t listen to her!” Max interjected, gesturing wildly. “You’ll have more fun on my side. I’ll let you hold the rings.”
“No we’re letting Yuki hold the rings!” Y/n shouted.
Charles blinked again, looking between them like they’d both lost their minds. “Are you two seriously fighting over me right now?”
“Yes!” they yelled in unison.
Charles sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “This is the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“Say yes to me, Charles,” Y/n said, batting her eyelashes.
“No, say yes to me,” Max countered, practically growling.
Charles threw his hands up. “Fine! I’ll be on Y/n’s side. But only because she asked first.”
Y/n cheered, sticking her tongue out at Max. “Suck it!”
“I feel like I should be insulted,” Max muttered as Charles smirked at him.
The wedding was somehow happening. In the span of a few hours—thanks to an intense series of last-minute phone calls, frantic text messages, and a team of Red Bull employees being worked to the bone—the ceremony was set to begin. And despite the fact that no one really knew how they’d gotten here, the whole thing had turned into the weirdest Formula 1 event in history.
Y/n stood in the back, adjusting her dress, eyeing the people around her in disbelief. Max had somehow managed to throw together an entire wedding in record time, which was somehow both impressive and terrifying. She was walking down the aisle with Lewis and Fernando—two of the most iconic figures in F1. She couldn’t decide between them, so she’d invited both to walk her down the aisle. Because, why not?
“You sure you’re okay with this?” Lewis asked, smoothing out his jacket. His suit was impeccable, of course. He was an icon of style, so a last-minute wedding wasn’t going to stop him from looking good.
“I’m just trying to survive this,” Y/n muttered
“We’re in Vegas. Anything goes,” Fernando quipped, the slightest hint of a smile on his lips. “At least the wedding's got personality."
“You both know I’ll never live this down, right?” Y/n said, shaking her head. "This whole thing is so Max, I feel like I should apologize to everyone for being part of it."
“You’ll be fine,” Fernando added with a smile, adjusting his cufflinks. “It’s Max. You know he doesn’t do anything half-heartedly. He’s probably already planned the honeymoon.”
Y/n laughed nervously. “I’m pretty sure he has. You’ve both seen what happens when Max gets an idea in his head. And somehow... this is actually happening.”
“You’ve got this,” Lewis said. “We’re here for you.”
Before Y/n could respond, the doors swung open, signaling that it was time. The aisle was a bit too short for a proper procession, and the whole thing had a sense of hurried chaos as they started walking down toward the altar.
At the front, Max stood there waiting, looking like he was about to burst with excitement. His best man, Lando, had been fighting tears all night and was now sniffling into a tissue. "I swear this is the happiest day of my life," Lando muttered to Carlos, wiping his eyes.
Carlos, looking slightly concerned, just shook his head. “It’s their wedding Lando, not even your own. stop bawling.”
“Yeah, but it’s their wedding,” Lando said, eyes still damp. “There’s too much love in the air.”
Max had his hands tucked in his pockets, grinning like a kid on Christmas morning. When he spotted Y/n, he gave her an exaggerated wink, as if to say, “We made it.”
“You good?” Fernando asked, glancing at Y/n as they reached the front.
“I’m questioning every life choice I’ve made,” Y/n muttered under her breath, feeling the full weight of the absurdity of the situation.
“I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that,” Max said, grinning.
At the back of the room, Oscar and Franco stood with baskets of flowers, both looking thoroughly confused in their roles as flower boys. Oscar had been dragged into this because of his unwillingness to protest. Franco, on the other hand, was too amused to care about the situation and just went along with it.
“Oscar, why are we doing this again?” Franco whispered, furrowing his brows as he sprinkled petals on the floor.
“Because Yuki said we had to. And I’m not arguing with him,” Oscar muttered, holding his basket as if it were a grenade about to go off.
“Who cares? It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Attending Max Vertsappen’s wedding?,” Franco said with stars in his eyes, “I’ll tell my grandkids about this.”
Yuki, holding the rings, couldn’t contain his excitement as he gave them instructions. “Guys, you’re doing great. Just, uh, try not to look confused. I need this to look professional. Oscar throw the petals properly! more passion! more energy! more footwork!”
“I’m already questioning my entire existence,” Oscar said, looking at Franco for solidarity. Franco just smiled and threw a handful of petals into the air.
The Elvis officiating the wedding was already in full swing, not entirely sure of the gravity of the moment but having a blast nonetheless.
"Y’all ready to get hitched?" Elvis said, his voice more vibrant than Y/n could’ve imagined.
Max, barely containing his excitement, looked over at Y/n. “Ready for this, love?” he asked, his voice low, though it carried a hint of playfulness.
Y/n smiled, glancing at him for a moment. “More than ever.”
Then, in front of everyone, they exchanged their vows.
Max spoke first, his voice unwavering, but there was an undeniable tenderness in his words. “Y/n, you’ve turned my world upside down. You’ve made every race, every moment, better just by being there. I promise to keep being the person you’ve decided to stand at an altar with, the person you love—even when I’m an absolute nightmare. I’ll always fight for us, for this. I love you.”
Y/n could feel her heart in her throat as she spoke. “Max, you’ve always been… Max. But you’ve shown me that you are a person with the biggest heart. You’ve made me laugh, cry, and love harder than I thought I could. You’re my best friend, and I can’t wait for the next chapter of this crazy life with you. I love you.”
There were no grand gestures or over-the-top theatrics; instead, it was just them—raw, honest, and completely present in this moment.
Max smiled at her, the kind of smile that made everything feel right, before turning to the officiant.
“Elvis, hit me with that ‘you may kiss the bride’ line,” Max said, giving a wink.
And so, amidst the madness, they kissed, sealing their vows with a moment that felt right in all its simplicity. The crowd cheered, some clapping and others, like Lando, wiping away happy tears. It wasn’t the wedding anyone had expected, but it was exactly what Max and Y/n had needed.
As they pulled away, Y/n’s gaze met Max’s, and for a brief moment, it was just the two of them, everything else fading away.
As the ceremony ended and the newlyweds turned to leave, the crowd of friends and teammates erupted into applause, some of them still trying to process what had just happened.
Lando was grinning, wiping his eyes. “This is so perfect. I’m still not sure how we managed to get here in two hours, but it’s amazing.”
Charles was smiling too, giving Y/n a thumbs up. “Congrats, both of you. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Max is married now.”
Lewis patted Max on the back. “She’s got you now. Good luck with that.”
Y/n smiled at him, a little breathless. “So, are you planning to annoy me for the rest of our lives?”
Max grinned back, a playful gleam in his eyes. “Absolutely. You’ve signed up for it, so no turning back now.”
Everyone laughed, but there was a deep sincerity in the air. This was their moment—imperfect and hurried, but beautiful in its own way.

On the one hand, it's true that the way Dungeons & Dragons defines terms like "sorcerer" and "warlock" and "wizard" is really only relevant to Dungeons & Dragons and its associated media – indeed, how these terms are used isn't even consistent between editions of D&D! – and trying to apply them in other contexts is rarely productive.
On the other hand, it's not true that these sorts of fine-grained taxonomies of types of magic are strictly a D&D-ism and never occur elsewhere. That folks make this argument is typically a symptom of being unfamiliar with Dungeons & Dragons' source material. D&D's main inspirations are American literary sword and sorcery fantasy spanning roughly the 1930s through the early 1980s, and fine-grained taxonomies of magic users absolutely do appear in these sources; they just aren't anything like as consistent as the folks who try to cram everything into the sorcerer/warlock/wizard model would prefer.
For example, in Lyndon Hardy's "Five Magics" series, the five types of magical practitioners are:
Alchemists: Drawing forth the hidden virtues of common materials to craft magic potions; limited by the fact that the outcomes of their formulas are partially random.
Magicians: Crafting enchanted items through complex manufacturing procedures; limited by the fact that each step in the procedure must be performed perfectly with no margin for error.
Sorcerers: Speaking verbal formulas to basically hack other people's minds, permitting illusion-craft and mind control; limited by the fact that the exercise of their art eventually kills them.
Thaumaturges: Shaping matter by manipulating miniature models; limited by the need to draw on outside sources like fires or flywheels to make up the resulting kinetic energy deficit.
Wizards: Summoning and binding demons from other dimensions; limited by the fact that the binding ritual exposes them to mental domination by the summoned demon if their will is weak.
"Warlock", meanwhile, isn't a type of practitioner, but does appear as pejorative term for a wizard who's lost a contest of wills with one of their own summoned demons.
Conversely, Lawrence Watt-Evans' "Legends of Ethshar" series includes such types of magic-users as:
Sorcerers: Channelling power through metal talismans to produce fixed effects; in the time of the novels, talisman-craft is largely a lost art, and most sorcerers use found or inherited talismans.
Theurges: Summoning gods; the setting's gods have no interest in human worship, but are bound not to interfere in the mortal world unless summoned, and are thus amenable to cutting deals.
Warlocks: Wielding X-Men style psychokinesis by virtue of their attunement to the telepathic whispers emanating from the wreckage of a crashed alien starship. (They're the edgy ones!)
Witches: Producing improvisational effects mostly related to healing, telepathy, precognition, and minor telekinesis by drawing on their own internal energy.
Wizards: Drawing down the infinite power of Chaos and shaping it with complex rituals. Basically D&D wizards, albeit with a much greater propensity for exploding.
You'll note that both taxonomies include something called a "sorcerer", something called a "warlock", and something called a "wizard", but what those terms mean in their respective contexts agrees neither with the Dungeons & Dragons definitions, nor with each other.
(Admittedly, these examples are from the 1980s, and are thus not free of D&D's influence; I picked them because they both happened to use all three of the terms in question in ways that are at odds with how D&D uses them. You can find similar taxonomies of magic use in earlier works, but I would have had to use many more examples to offer multiple competing definitions of each of "sorcerer", "warlock" and "wizard", and this post is already long enough!)
So basically what I'm saying is giving people a hard time about using these terms "wrong" – particularly if your objection is that they're not using them in a way that's congruent with however D&D's flavour of the week uses them – makes you a dick, but simply having this sort of taxonomy has a rich history within the genre. Wizard phylogeny is a time-honoured tradition!

Spencer Reid x Messy!BAU!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: After your first night with Spencer, you wake up and see that he's left you two dollars and a thank-you note on your bedside table.
Words: 2,3k.
Warnings & Tags: fem!reader. lots of mentions and references to sex, but nothing completely explicit. the reader is quite dramatic and has little faith in men (literally me, sorry). SO MUCH chaos and lack of communication but happy ending. english isn't my first language (sorry for my mistakes, be kind please).
Note: This idea just came to me out of the blue, and I have to say that Sex and the City has had a bit of an influence. I love the chaos, the conversations between friends, and Spencer being the best man in the world (I'm picturing him kind of like in his season four version).
Tumblr media
Saturday afternoon
“Two dollars?!”
Penelope's and JJ's simultaneous exclamations and surprised faces when you finished speaking were pretty much to be expected. They noticed a change in your expression and took a moment to compose themselves, as did the rest of the people in the room, who glanced curiously at your table from time to time. It was certainly a fascinating sight, three women having an animated conversation about their lives over milkshakes as if they were drinks, especially considering that one of them was pregnant and her belly looked like it was about to explode.
You didn't blame anyone for reacting that way, especially not your friends. You were still pretty shocked by what happened, especially by how thoughtless the man you'd developed feelings for and worked closely with over the past few years was. It was a unsettling to find a tip on your nightstand after one of the most memorable nights you'd ever had. You still remembered the excitement you felt when you went to Spencer's apartment yesterday to watch a movie as part of your fourth or fifth date. He seemed nervous when you started kissing more intensely, and the couch wasn't the best setting. The sensation of your body on his bed and his lips on your skin was incredible.
It was a good memory, extremely good if you took away the embarrassment of waking up the next day in his empty bed with money waiting for you, as if you had performed a service.
“Maybe there was a misunderstanding and the money was left on the table by mistake.” Jennifer spoke again in a reassuring tone after turning the matter over. “Spencer can be a little clumsy sometimes.”
You pressed your lips together in a thin line as you listened to her attempt to provide an explanation for his actions. But given their friendship, this was to be expected.
“And he was in a hurry to catch his plane and go to his mother.” Garcia added with a forced smile, trying to lift your spirits. “It all makes sense.”
Yes, it was understandable that he was leaving in a hurry because he had to catch a flight to spend his weekend off with his mother. That didn't worry you, but there was something else that was curious.
“How do you explain the thank-you note?” You asked, taking out the paper and the two dollars you'd pulled out to show them as proof from your purse.
“It was a thank you for hanging out with him, a sweet gesture.” JJ said, taking a sip of her milkshake and patting her belly.
It seemed more like a sour gesture to you, that you had been left with your dignity on the floor. As you left his apartment, you didn't know whether to cry or laugh because it sounded like a bad joke that the only man you thought was decent and for whom you allowed yourself to have feelings would do such a thing.
“My love life is going downhill.” You said.
Just then, the restaurant door opens and Emily appears. After greeting her and apologizing for her late arrival, she asks about the cause of your apparent distress. As a profiler, she was astute enough to know something was wrong just by looking at you.
“What's wrong, honey?” She started talking as soon as she sat down next to you and took a quick look at the table. “Those milkshakes look good, I want one.”
“Spencer thinks I'm a prostitute.” You spoke up without thinking, which surprised Emily and caused her to briefly lose her grip on the menu.
There was a long, awkward silence.
Perhaps you were too direct in saying something that you had been trying to ignore for your own mental health.
“Just a heads-up, we've got a baby in the room. No need to say that word!” Penelope was the first to speak, gently covering JJ's belly with her hands. “He can hear you.”
At that moment, Reid and his comments about pregnancy data at every stage came to mind. You felt a little uncomfortable because you knew it was a little unrealistic to focus on the positives at a time like this.
“Oh, I'm so sorry, baby.” You looked regretfully at your friends and spoke to Jennifer's belly, giving it a gentle caress. “Don't listen.”
“I need context, please.” Emily said confusedly, trying to understand what was going on and why you had said what you had said.
You let out a deep breath, preparing yourself to recount the story once more.
“Okay, Spencer and I made...milkshakes. Very good milkshakes, really good if you know what I mean.” You tried to explain slowly, watching your words and your friends' expressions. “I woke up when he was leaving, he gave me a kiss on my forehead and said to keep sleeping, that he had to catch his flight.”
“That's sweet, but weird to know.” Emily commented quizzically, looking at the menu intently again. “What's the part...you know?”
“Oh, when he thought I was-” You stop yourself as you see how JJ looks at you. “A pie maker.”
You could tell from their expressions that they were about to laugh at your attempts to keep the conversation friendly.
“I woke up hours later to find two dollars on the nightstand with a thank-you note.” You finished the story. “To him, I'm worth two fu...sugary dollars.”
Prentiss stared at you for several seconds, waiting for me to tell her it was a joke. Only when that didn't happen did she speak. “That sounds weird and awful, but I don't think he would do something like that on purpose. Especially you, he really likes you.”
“He likes me enough to give me two dollars.”
When you finished speaking, you experienced a moment of discomfort in your stomach as your own words took effect. You were surprised to find that on a deeper level, what had happened was causing you more pain than you had anticipated.
“That doesn't sound like Reid at all. I've known him for years, and he's not that kind of man.” Penelope said with a frown, trying to reassure you. “I'm sure it's a mix-up.”
You were looking for the same thing and hoping it was just a misunderstanding, but your previous bad experiences made you think otherwise. You'd met enough men to know that they could always be worse. What was different now was that you really liked this particular man. You really longed for him to be different from everyone else.
However, things weren't always as you'd hoped. You'd invested a lot of hope in making your fairy tale come true, and it was starting to take its toll.
“Have you had a chance to speak with him?” JJ inquired.
“He's with his mother, I won't bother him.” You replied with a strange simplicity that made your friends suspicious. “I'm fine, I've calmed down.” You added as you saw their worried faces.
“I love you, but sometimes you scare me.” Emily said, watching you drink from your smoothie as if it contained a painkiller. “It's not okay to pretend that everything's fine.”
“It's understandable to feel a bit discouraged about this. Things may seem challenging at the moment, but I believe things will improve when you discuss this with him.” Jennifer's hand gently touched yours, offering a comforting gesture.
“I'm sure everything will be fine. You have our support if you need it.” Penelope joined in with the motivational words and gave you a reassuring smile.
You took the last sip of your milkshake and leaned back in your seat for a moment before replying. “I'm fine, girls. I don't plan to lose my head over a man, I promised myself.”
They looked at you with some skepticism, but you didn't flinch. You were confident that if you were mentally prepared not to be defeated, or at least not to look defeated, you would be well prepared for the day of the meeting.
You weren't going to lose your mind over this.
Tumblr media
Monday morning
You were definitely losing your mind, and no cup of tea or internet video that promised to do so had been able to relax you one bit. You had been cooped up in the office you shared with Penelope for several minutes, pacing in your chair while everyone in the conference room waited for information about a new case and your presence. The mere thought of having to face Reid again was making you feel pretty uneasy.
All weekend, you had been trying to reassure yourself that you were doing well, that you were not hurt or affected by what happened, that it was just one more disappointment to add to the long list you had written since you were a teenager, and that it was normal for someone with your luck. You were not a princess, you were not going to meet a prince, and you were old enough to know that.
But being in the same building as your prince turned toad was not as easy as you had hoped. You prayed that your presence would not be necessary and that the jet would soon take off to take them all away, especially him.
A few sudden knocks on the door startled you. You automatically thought it was your boss coming to scold you for being late, and your blood froze.
“I apologize for the delay, Hotch. I assure...” You spoke promptly as soon as the door opened and a male figure appeared.
But obviously, it wasn't him.
“Oh, sorry, I'm not Hotch. But hey, how are you?” Spencer smiled at you and walked toward you, looking a little nervous.
“Fine.” You replied dryly, getting up from your seat to grab your tablet and some folders to carry into the conference room.
In your mind, you had planned to make a scene as soon as you saw him and make it clear that you didn't cost just two dollars. But after thinking about it a lot, the fear of losing your job over it was greater. And now it was a mixture of that reasoning with your feeling of paralysis at actually having him in front of you.
“I...I missed you over the weekend.” He stopped you before you could walk away, gently holding your hand. The feeling alone made you stop and look at him angrily. “I thought about you a lot, too much, and I bought you something.” He let go of your hand to pull a small box out of his pocket.
“How dare you?” You blurt out, taking a step back.
He looked a little uncomfortable and seemed to be in pain. “I'm sorry if I overstepped. I didn't mean to impose. Did I cross a line? I'm sorry, I just thought—”
“What? That you could embarrass me even more? Didn't I already go through enough?”
That's when you took out two dollars from your purse and gave it to him.
“Could I ask why this is?” Spencer was still frowning and looked just as hurt as you.
His apparent lack of understanding of the situation made you much angrier. You had thought he was probably the smartest man you had ever met in your entire life, but suddenly, in your eyes, he was an idiot.
“I'm refunding your payment, Reid.” You replied firmly, without hiding your frustration.
The confusion on his face seemed to multiply as he tried to understand. “What are you talking about? I gave you your money back.”
You tilted your head slightly to one side.
“Saturday morning, I left on the nightstand the two dollars you lent me a week ago when we bought coffee. You know I don't like being in debt.” Spencer began to explain calmly, taking a moment to gather his thoughts and present the facts in a clear and concise manner.
Oh, you do remember lending him money at some point, or rather, inviting him for coffee that he said he'd pay you back. That day when his hair was perfect in the wind, when he smiled at you and told you some interesting facts about coffee beans.
“I mentioned it when I said goodbye, but you looked so tired that I left you a thank you note in case you forgot.” He went on to explain. “A lot of studies say that you wake up to full strength at least 20 to 30 minutes after you actually open your eyes. And you still had them closed when I said goodbye.”
“Oh.”
“Oh?”
“I...I thought you—” You fell silent as you saw the stunned look on his face. You didn't want to look crazy, so you quickly added. “I just thought wrong.”
“I'm sorry, I don't understand.” He said, a little embarrassed. “Did I do something wrong?”
“Oh, no, I just...did you bring me a gift?” You changed the subject, taking the box he had previously offered you. Inside was a necklace with a cherry blossom charm.
“Your computer wallpaper is a picture of cherry blossoms. And I saw this necklace in a store when I was walking with my mom, and I thought you might like it. But it's okay if you don't want it—” He spoke fast until you interrupted him.
“I love it, thank you.” You smiled at him and took the necklace out of the box. “Could you help me with this?”
With some trepidation and uncertainty still present, Spencer positioned himself behind you with the jewel in his hands, carefully brushed your hair aside and fastened the necklace around your neck. The sensation of his fingers brushing against your skin made you feel a slight shiver.
“Thanks.” You said as you turned around to face him. You gave him a hug, though you were a little unsure.
He returned your embrace, feeling a sense of relief that things between you were okay. “You don't have to thank me.”
“It's not about the gift. It's just a way to say thanks for being you.”
Perhaps he was your prince after all.

Here are some headcanons of Damian Wayne deeply in love with a curly brown-haired girl who is completely dense for romance.
✧─── ・ 。゚★: *.✦ .* :★. ───✧
1. Damian Wayne and his unrequited (or just misunderstood?) love
- Damian is intense in everything, and love is no exception. His love for her is deep, serious, and with absolute devotion. He is not the type to be carried away by whims, but when he chooses someone, it is forever.
- From the first moment he met her, something about her intrigued him. Her curly hair that seemed to have a life of its own, her strong but at the same time absent-minded character, her way of seeing the world without giving importance to other people's glances.
- When he realized that he was in love, it was a hard blow. He did not want to accept that his heart was beating faster for her, that his thoughts revolved around their interactions, no matter how minimal they were.
✧─── ・ 。゚★: *.✦ .* :★. ───✧
2. She's Dense and He's Frustrated
- Damian tries to seduce her in his own way: protecting her in combat, making sure she eats well, silently walking her home, staring at her intently... but nothing works because she just doesn't notice.
- He invites her to train with him, hoping she'll notice that he only offers that level of closeness to people he cares about. She sees it as just another training session.
- When he gives her gifts—subtle but thoughtful things like a rare book or a weapon with her name engraved on it—she simply thanks him without suspecting the meaning.
- If another person tries to flirt with her and she doesn't notice, Damian nearly explodes in frustration. "How can you be so oblivious?" he thinks every time he sees her interact with someone without picking up on the romantic intent.
✧─── ・ 。゚★: *.✦ .* :★. ───✧
3. Damian Discovers Her Inexperience
- At some point, he realizes that he's never been in a relationship and has never experienced romance in any form. When he processes it, his arrogant side is flattered: I'll be her first in everything.
- This makes him even more possessive and protective. No one else has the right to teach him what love, desire or affection is.
- It also makes him more patient (albeit with effort). If she's never felt something like this, he can't expect her to understand it right away. So, he changes tactics: he starts getting closer, touching her subtly (a hand on her back, fixing a loose curl), looking at her in a way that even she starts to notice that something is wrong.
- But, inside, his mind is in chaos: How is it possible that someone so intelligent is so blind to this?
✧─── ・ 。゚★: *.✦ .* :★. ───✧
4. His First Kiss (Or How Damian Has to Take the Initiative)
- In a moment of frustration, when she still doesn't understand his intentions, Damian just does it. He kisses her.
- He does it with determination, with the purpose of making clear what he feels.
- As they pull away, he stares at her and, in his deep, serious tone, says, "Now tell me you don't understand."
- She's shocked. She'd never considered it because, well, she never thought someone like him would be interested in her like that.
- From there, she starts to see him in a different way. Her heart beats faster when he's around, his gazes feel more intense. And for the first time, she understands what Damian has been trying to tell her all along.
✧─── ・ 。゚★: *.✦ .* :★. ───✧
5. Damian As A Partner (Because He'll Obviously Win Her Heart)
- Once he's in a relationship with her, he's still intense, but there's a change: he's more patient, softer, but just as protective and jealous.
- He's the kind of partner who watches her like she's his entire universe, who remembers every detail about her, who makes sure she never has any doubts about what she means to him.
- And every time she, with her absent-minded nature, still fails to grasp something obvious, he just sighs and thinks, "How did I ever fall in love with someone so blind..."
- But in the end, he doesn't care. Because she's his, and he'll never let her go.

could you write something about divorced reader and agatha? them being mothers to a child, both decided to put what happened that lead to the divorce aside and keep communicating to each other as to try and keep a health relationship with their kid. they think their kid deserves to have both mothers present in his or her life.
then one day agatha discovers that reader is planning to go on a date, meaning she's trying to move on with her life. agatha is furious (in the jealous way), they argue a lot, it's very angst, full of emotions, they end up fucking and in the end they talk to each other about trying to restart things to be together again. they know it's not going to be easy but they realize their feelings for each other are still there. thank you!! (if you could angst and nsfw)
Okay this is genuinely one of my favorite things i've ever written so I really hope everyone likes it
Also my first time writing real angst so hopefully it wasn't terrible
Title is from a Taylor Swift song
That's when
Word count: 6100
Warnings: angst, smut, hate sex, fingering, scratching, biting
Going to be a few minutes late to pick-up today, got caught up at work.
The text from your ex-wife makes you chuckle humorlessly. Of course she did.
“What’s wrong, Mama?” You look up from your phone at the four year old bundle of joy you and Agatha shared.
You give him a smile. “Nothing, Nicky. Mommy’s just going to be a little late today.” He shrugs and goes back to playing with his toys.
You can’t stop the twinge of bitterness growing in your chest as you give a thumbs to the message, not even giving her a dignified response.
Was it stupid to think that anything would change?
When you and Agatha had first gotten married, you saw forever with her. She made you happier than you had ever been, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for you. She always knew how to make you laugh and feel loved, and she was such an amazing partner.
Plus the sex was mind blowing. She made you feel things you didn’t even know it was possible to feel. The older woman knew exactly what you needed all the time and it was like your body had been made for her.
A year into the marriage, you both decided you wanted to have a child. Agatha carried the baby, using a donation from a sperm center, and then Nicholas was born.
The moment you first saw Agatha holding him in the hospital room, your heart exploded with all the love in the world. You had kissed Agatha’s sweaty lips and told her that you loved her and Nicky more than life itself and that nothing was ever going to change that. She had told you that everything she’d ever wanted was right here in this room.
And for the first few years, things were really good.
Agatha went back to work after her maternity leave ended, so you stayed home with Nicky. Some days were harder than others, but Agatha always made sure to come home as soon as possible to give you a break. She would cook dinner for everyone and after Nicky went to bed, she would hold you on the couch and the two of you would just soak each other in.
But then, after Nicky had turned three, something started to change. He was in his toddler phase, so being home with him all day started to take a toll on you. Agatha would come home and find you absolutely exhausted, but at that point, she was moving up higher on the corporate ladder, so she was tired too. It felt like a distance had grown between you, and you didn’t know what was happening.
She started to stay late at work, the need to become a partner at her law firm becoming all-consuming.
You still remember the first time it happened, the first time you tucked in Nicky alone, his big, sad, brown eyes looking up at you and asking why Mommy didn’t want to come home and see him.
Your heart had clenched and you had to blink back tears before telling him that she was just busy at work and would come in and kiss him goodnight when she was able to.
That had been the first fight of many about it with your wife.
You had told her that she wasn’t putting her family first. She had told you that you weren’t giving her enough credit for everything she was doing for you and Nicky. You had told her that all you wanted was for her to be here to tuck your child in. She had told you that you weren’t being fair or understanding about her job.
Agatha had slept on the couch that night and was gone before you woke up the next morning.
Deep down, you could tell it was going to be the beginning of the end if something didn’t change.
So you tried to. You tried to control your anger whenever she was late, you tried to make the best of it for you and Nicky. Bedtimes became a special thing for the two of you, when you would read him a story and kiss his forehead and then slip out once he drifted off to sleep.
He stopped asking where Agatha was entirely.
Occasionally a tense comment would escape from you when she got home an hour or two later and it would turn into an argument.
That arrangement went on for almost a year, but fights were getting more common between the two of you. She made you feel crazy for being upset, which in turn, only made you more upset.
One time, you told her that she needed to make more of an effort or else and she had scoffed. You had seen red and gotten in her face and you were almost yelling when she shoved you against the wall and shut you up by furiously kissing you. Her fingers had slipped down into your pants and she fucked you for the first time in months.
You didn’t know hate sex could be so hot.
After that, things seemed to be getting better and you thought that maybe the two of you had just needed to blow off steam. Your sex life certainly seemed to be back on track.
And then it was Nicky’s fourth birthday.
Agatha and you had planned a big party and invited all the kids from his daycare to your house for pizza, cake, and a bounce house. It was the first time in a while that you actually felt like your marriage was on steady ground, like you were on the same page again.
You remember smiling at her in the kitchen while hanging streamers and thinking that everything was going to be okay, because you loved her and more importantly, she loved you.
But then she got a phone call and your heart dropped when she left the room to take it.
When she came back in five minutes later, a pained expression on her face, you felt nauseous. Of course.
“It’s just going to be a short thing,” she had promised, and you had begged her not to go. It was Nicky’s birthday, he needed both of his moms and it was her day off. You told her that if she left, you didn’t think you could ever forgive her.
She left anyway, vowing to be back within an hour.
You weren’t even upset this time. You were just numb.
The party went by in a blur and it didn’t even feel like you were present in your body. The only thing you remember was finding Nicky sitting under the table while all his friends ran around the yard and crouching down to ask him what was wrong.
And he had looked up at you, bottom lip quivering, and told you that the only thing he wanted for his birthday was for Mommy to not have to work so much so that the three of you could be together again.
You had to turn your head and bite onto your finger so you wouldn’t cry in front of him, barely holding it together while you consoled him and promised that Agatha would be back soon.
Except an hour passed, and she wasn’t back yet.
The party ended another hour after that and she still wasn’t home.
After you had rocked a sobbing Nicky to sleep that night, you had gone downstairs, poured yourself a generous glass of wine, and sat by the fireplace, waiting for Agatha.
And finally, at a quarter until ten, the front door swung open. Your wife crept in, gently setting her keys down so as to not cause a disturbance, and then turned to go upstairs.
“You said an hour,” you said in a shockingly calm voice, startling her, making her freeze. She launched into an excuse about getting a new case and it was a really big one and she couldn’t get away, but you had cut her off and told her that you didn’t want to hear it. Thus started your biggest fight yet.
You called her selfish and told her that she was being a bad mother to her child, she told you that you couldn’t possibly understand what it was like for her because you didn’t have a job. You had argued that it shouldn’t matter, that she needed to sort out her priorities, and she said that you needed to stop nagging and accept that she was an integral part of her company now.
“You’re also an integral part of this family,” you had snapped. “Nicky needs both his moms. He was crying today because you weren’t there, Agatha. He said all he wanted was for you to work less. You need to fix this.”
She had just stared at you like she didn’t understand what you were saying. “I’m so close to having everything I want. Just give me a few more months.” That was like a stab in the heart.
“A few more months until what? Until you become a partner and have to work even more?” Tears were streaming down your face in the flicker of the fire. “Since when is this not everything you want? Since when are me and Nicky not enough?” Your voice had broken at the end but you didn’t care.
A hint of pain appeared on her face but she had hardened. “I have to do this. You can either stand by my decision or not.”
To this day, you don’t even remember squeezing the wine glass so hard that it shattered, but the next thing you knew, there was a sharp pain in your palm. You had looked down to see shards embedded in your skin, but the blood made you eerily calm. The wound was almost a wake-up call, a physical manifestation of what she was doing to your family.
You met her eyes again. “I’m not going to stand by it. I’m done, Agatha. I’m not going to put Nicky or myself through this torture anymore.”
You could tell that she wasn’t expecting it; she opened her mouth to say something but you had breezed by her to go upstairs, feeling lighter than you had in awhile.
You had called a lawyer the next day. A small part of you kept hoping that she would promise to do better and beg to work it out. You would’ve called it off in a heartbeat.
But she didn’t.
The divorce was simple, for the most part. You had both agreed that you wanted it to be painless for Nicky so you decided that you would be civil and put your problems aside for his sake. He deserved to have both his mothers in his life, and the two of you were going to make that happen as cordially as possible.
Nicky took the news about as well as any four year old would, but you both assured him that you loved him very much and that this wasn’t a bad thing.
Things were awkward at first, especially Sundays at six when she would pick him up from you and vice versa. You didn’t know how to talk to the woman you swore you’d die with anymore, but four months in now, it’s gotten easier.
There’s light conversation now, maybe even some casual joking. But it always ends the same way: a terse smile, a kiss on Nicky’s cheek, and then a strained wave before the door closes.
You miss her, though. The way she smelled when you cuddled with her, the way her lips felt tracing your skin, the way she would laugh at some stupid joke you made.
You try to ignore the pang in your heart whenever Nicky talks about her. It’s honestly been good for their relationship, now she has to make time for him because she doesn’t have you to depend on.
If only she could’ve done that four months ago.
And yet, it seems like she’s still putting work first, if being late today is any indication.
“Mommy says we’re gonna go to the park tomorrow!” Nicky squeals, jolting you out of your acrimonious thoughts.
You look back at your son. “Oh, yeah? That will be a lot of fun, won’t it?”
He nods. “She’s gonna push me on the swings! I went so high last time I almost touched space. It was so cool.”
“Wow, Nicky!” You exclaim, laughing despite yourself. “You better be careful though. I’d miss you too much if you went to space.”
He frowns, deep in thought. “I’d miss you and Mommy. Maybe you could both come!” His face brightens like he just told you a million-dollar idea.
“Whatever you want, baby,” you say softly, leaning over to tousle his hair, and the doorbell rings. Every time she does that instead of just walking in, it feels strange. This used to be the home you two shared. You give Nicky a tight smile. “Go get your stuff.” He runs up to his room and you go answer the door. Agatha looks as good as ever and you swallow hard. You knew the whole thing was going to be tough, but you didn’t think being so close to her but somehow so far away at the same time would be the worst part.
“Sorry I’m late,” your ex-wife says, sounding genuinely apologetic. You shrug, not wanting to start anything.
“Don’t worry about it. Nicky’s just grabbing his stuff.” Except it’s taking longer than you thought, so the two of you are just stuck standing there, trying to avoid eye contact. Some pick-ups are better than others.
“Um, so how are things? How have you been?” Agatha asks.
“Oh, yeah, good. You know, starting to look for a job just to have something to do. Maybe down at the community center,” you tell her. She nods interestedly.
“That would be good, yeah,” she says. She’s clearly racking her brain for more small talk to make.
“And you?” You ask before the silence gets too much to bear again.
She looks at you like she’s trying to figure out what to say. Her work has become sort of a sore subject to talk about, especially now. “I actually just made partner,” she says finally.
“Oh, wow, congratulations.” It sounds hollow even to your ears. “So, um–” You start a sentence before knowing where it’s going, but thankfully, Nicky runs downstairs at that very moment.
“Hi Mommy!” He cries out, sprinting over and almost knocking the wind out of her when he barrels into her with a hug. She takes a step back when she absorbs the hit and you instinctively reach a hand out to grab onto her to keep her balanced.
Her eyes meet yours, a jolt running through you when you realize this is the first time in four months that you’ve actually touched her.
You yank your hand back before you get too carried away in your thoughts.
“There’s my little prince,” Agatha says, ruffling his hair, still looking at you. “Did you have a good week?”
He lifts his head to peer up at her and she finally breaks away from your stare. “It was fun! Jack let me have some of his chips.” You chuckle, remembering the day he had come home from daycare and happily told you that he had made a new friend. Agatha quizzically glances at you and you shake your head fondly.
“Wow, well I can’t wait to hear all about it,” she says, matching his energy, and you feel your throat pinch. Despite everything, Agatha was a great mom when she was around. “Alright, are you ready to go? I’m thinking we can get pizza for dinner?”
“Yes!” Nicky pumps his fist and lets go of her to throw his arms around you. “Bye, Mama. I’ll see you next week.”
You lean down and kiss his cheek. “Have a great week, okay, baby?” He nods, eyes sparkling like they always do.
You stand back up and Agatha gives you a smile before leading Nicky back to her car. Watching them drive away tugs at your stomach like it always does, and when you can no longer see them, you go back inside to the empty house.
Grief rolls over you in waves sometimes when you’re alone, and this is one of those times. It’s like you’re being pulled under the surface if you think too hard about what it used to be like before things started getting bad.
This home used to be full of love and warmth and happiness.
Now it’s a cold, vacant shell of memories. Even the silence feels too loud as you walk to the kitchen to pour yourself a glass of wine.
You drink a lot more when Nicky is with Agatha, and you find yourself wondering if she’s as affected as you are.
Doubt it, you snort. She’s probably living her best life on her off-week, when she can come home at whatever time she wants and doesn’t have a nagging wife to answer to.
You settle on the couch, glass in hand, and scroll through your phone. You down it quickly, and then another, and you decide to keep going. It doesn’t take long at all before you’re absolutely hammered.
Fuck Agatha. Fuck her for choosing her job over you and Nicky. Fuck her for tearing your family apart. You would’ve been so happy with her. You wanted to spend the rest of your life with her.
And now, what? You’re just supposed to start over? With some random woman? Supposed to go on first dates again, and talk about your favorite color, while the person who you loved the most and knew everything about you ripped out your heart?
Fuck Agatha.
And then you get a genius idea. Maybe you should date. It could be meaningless, just a way for some company, maybe even sex.
You’ve been waiting, hoping, for Agatha to change her mind. But she’s a partner at her firm now.
She’s made her choice.
Giggling out loud to yourself, you download Tinder and set up a profile. You scroll through your camera roll and are depressed when there’s mostly only pictures of you and Agatha, you and Nicky, or the three of you together.
So you take some. Selfies have never been your thing, but in your drunken state, you have never been more confident. Some of the pictures you take are soft, some are a bit sexier, some are neutral.
You upload them all, set the location for within five miles, and get to swiping.
At first, it feels wrong, like you’re cheating on Agatha. When you get nervous, you still find yourself fiddling with the spot where her ring used to be, because it used to bring you comfort. The imprint she has on your soul will forever be there, you think.
But it’s done.
You steel your nerves and keep going, but no one is catching your eye. You frown, disgruntled, until finally you get to an attractive woman.
Rio. 41. Loves nature and witchy things.
You click through her pictures and are intrigued. You have a thing for brunettes, and her brown eyes are pretty pools of honey with a knowing look in them. There’s something intense about her, but you can’t ignore how hot she is.
Before you can think twice, you swipe right and your stomach lurches when it says you have a match.
Heart racing, you tap on the message icon, staring at the page. Do you make the first move or wait?
The alcohol decides for you.
Hey. You hit send and immediately inwardly kick yourself. What a stupid thing to say.
You turn off your phone and pinch the bridge of your nose until it buzzes in your lap. You look down and find that Rio replied.
Nice pictures.
You squint and click back to your profile, and attempt to really study them with a clear head. Turns out, all of them are blurry and it’s incredibly hard to make out any distinct features. You raise your phone again to take a new one and this time, you make sure that it’s clear before sending it straight to her with the message: Sorrrry i’m drung
It’s wrong, but you don’t care enough to correct it.
Wow, doll. I’m glad you posted the blurry ones because you are too hot for anyone else to see.
A blush spreads through your cheeks. It’s the first time you’ve been flirted with in ages. Feeling emboldened, you send a flirty text back.
You keep talking for hours, until as you’re dozing off, she texts and asks you if you want to get dinner tomorrow night.
The question is like a bucket of cold water being thrown on you and you start to panic. Thoughts of Agatha swirl in your mind, meeting her in a cafe, your first date, the first time she touched you, her proposing, her on your wedding day, her and Nicky in the hospital the day he was born –
– her working late, making Nicky cry, making you tuck in your child alone and explaining that of course Mommy still loves him and she’s just really busy, making you wait up to see her, breaking your heart a million times over again because she refused to change.
You exhale slowly.
I’d love to. You type back, and you turn off your phone before you can second guess yourself.
You fall asleep on the couch, phone still in hand, a war being waged in your heart.
The next morning, you’re awoken by your phone buzzing. You groan and hold it up in front of your face to find Agatha calling you.
“Hello?” You say groggily, rubbing your head.
You can tell she’s in the car by the loud sounds. Probably on her way to work. You roll your eyes, and then feel guilty. “Hey, Nicky realized that he left his pair of flip flops at yours and I was going to take him to the pool tomorrow. Can I come stop by this afternoon and pick them up?”
You raise an eyebrow. “The pool on a Tuesday?” Who is this woman, and what has she done with your ex-wife?
“I know, I know,” Agatha chuckles and it’s nice to hear her laugh. “I took off the afternoon because he’s been wanting to go swimming. Thought it would be a nice surprise.”
You try to ignore the effort she’s putting in now versus when you were married. “Yeah, that’s fine. I’ll be here pretty much all day. Just text first.” You don’t mention the date with Rio, you don’t even wait for her to respond before hanging up.
Trying to push Agatha and Rio out of your mind, you go take a shower to wash the smell of alcohol off you, and then run some errands. Grocery shopping is always easier when it’s your off-week but you still find yourself reaching for Froot Loops and Dinosaur nuggets.
It’s about four in the afternoon when Agatha texts you that she’s on her way. You’re in denial about why you make sure your hair looks nice or you put on a bit of makeup, but it’s the first time you and Agatha have been alone since the divorce.
Not that that has any correlation.
And then the doorbell rings and your palms start to sweat.
You swing the door open to find her leaned against the pillar outside, wearing a suit that has your chest squeezing. It’s your favorite, the maroon one that hugs her curves perfectly and the one she’s fucked you in more times than you can count.
Agatha doesn’t wait for you to invite her, just walks in and up the stairs to Nicky’s room. You chase after her.
“I’m surprised you’re not working right now,” you say, and she gives you a warning look.
“I’m a partner now,” she answers, rummaging through Nicky’s closet to find his shoes. “I can delegate the busy work to others in the office.”
You hum and reach around her to pull his flip-flops off a shelf and hold them up to her. You organized his room, you know where everything is.
“Thanks,” she says, taking them, standing up, and awkwardly waiting for you to move first.
You glance around the room to see if there’s anything else he would need for swimming. “Does he have his swim suit?”
“I have a few pairs for him,” she replies, watching you carefully. You tuck your hair behind your ear, another nervous habit.
“Well, guess he should be all set then.” You clap your hands together and she smiles sadly and walks out of the room. She pauses in the hallway next to your room, the room you used to share, and your breath catches, but she keeps moving toward the stairwell.
“Do you, uh,” Agatha starts, turning around when she gets to the kitchen. You freeze. “Maybe want to have a drink or dinner or do something tonight? Nicky has a playdate with one of his friends, so it’ll just be me. Figured we could both use the company.”
“I actually have plans,” you say carefully. Part of you wants to cancel with Rio, but you know you shouldn’t. This could be good for you.
Agatha raises an eyebrow. “Working late?” She jokes, although it doesn’t land how she wants it and you both know it.
“I have a date.”
And it’s like all the air has been sucked out of the room. You see the exact moment Agatha’s face changes, becomes darker almost.
“What?” She growls. “With who?”
You chew on your lip until she asks again. “I went on Tinder last night.” You don’t offer more than that, but her lip curls and you can tell that she’s angry.
“So now you’re just whoring yourself out online?” She spits and your blood boils. “You were going to, what, bring some slut to the house my child sleeps in?”
“He’s not here this week, Agatha,” you remind her and she scoffs like it doesn’t matter. “You haven’t been on a date yet?” Now that’s a surprise to you.
She rolls her eyes. “Of course not. I’m too-“
“Busy? Yeah, tell me about it,” you cut her off, poison dripping in your tone and she fixes you with a glare, throwing her hands up in the air.
“Don’t even fucking go there,” she warns. “That’s what this is always about with you. I’m so fucking sorry that I was ambitious and wanted more.” The sarcasm hits you like a brick and you grit your teeth.
“It was about more than that and you know it,” you snarl. “You constantly neglected Nicky and I, you put everything else above us. You weren’t there for your own son’s birthday party, so fucking sue me for going on a date. We’re divorced, I can do whatever the fuck I want. At least she won’t completely ignore me.”
It’s the wrong thing to say and you know it the second it leaves your mouth. She explodes. “Ignore you? I didn’t ignore you, do you even hear yourself? I tried to be there for you, I really did, and now you’re just throwing that away. I was doing the best I could, I was under so much stress with my job and then a toddler, I was fucking drowning.”
“Why didn’t you talk to me then?” You cry out, digging your nails into your palms. “You could’ve told me how you were struggling instead of just fighting with me! And I’m not throwing it away now, Aggie, you were the one who did that when you gave me that ultimatum.” You can hear her breath suck in when you call her that nickname and tears prick your eyes. How did you two get here?
“I didn’t think you would just give up,” she says, voice strangled, and a weight comes crashing down on you.
“What?” You whisper, and for the first time, you can see that the older woman is affected too, hurting.
She wipes her eyes and sniffs. “I didn’t think you would just walk away like you did. I thought you’d say that we could work it out, like you always do.”
And then you get it. That night, she wanted you to cave again. She thought you would give in and let her get away with it. Like you always did. “Stop,” you say coldly and she looks at you with surprise. “You don’t get to manipulate me anymore and turn this on me. I tried so hard to fix this and to be okay with it, but you were never going to change. Except now you have, for Nicky. So what, was I just not worth it?”
“Do you know how many times I wish I had changed? I should have listened, I’m sorry,” she says, and you wish you could believe it.
“It doesn’t matter now. I’m going on this date and you should go,” you snap. You start to walk out of the kitchen and to the front door when her hand shoots out and grabs your wrist. You move your arm, trying to get free, but she yanks you back against her, your chest colliding with hers.
You lose the ability to breathe and you try to avoid looking at her lips as she walks you backwards until you hit the wall.
“Tell me you don’t still think about me,” she hisses into your ear. “Tell me you don’t miss the way I made you moan louder than anyone else ever has. Tell me you don’t miss the way I fuck you.”
Your nose twitches in anger and you lean in closer to her. “I don’t,” you glower, even though it’s not the truth at all. She knows it too. Her grip on your arm tightens.
“Really?” Her voice is slippery smooth now, dropping an octave to the tone that always made your stomach heat up. “When you’re alone in this big house, you don’t think about my fingers or my mouth or my cock, fucking you the way only I can?”
You shiver, body betraying you. But you hold your ground and deny it again.
Her other hand comes up and pulls your hair, forcing your head to the side, and she puts her face next to your ear. “You forget, baby, I know what it looks like when you lie.” Her tongue licks your earlobe and you bite back a moan.
It’s been so long, too long, since you’ve been touched. You’d have this reaction if it was anyone else, you tell yourself.
“Do you really think that Tinder slut can fuck you right? Let me tell you a secret,” she says dangerously, one hand sliding down your body and stopping at the waistband of your shorts, giving you ample time to stop her. You don’t and she smirks, knowing she’s won. “She can’t. Only I can.”
Her fingers dip inside and cup you over your underwear and your mind goes blank.
“You’re telling me that you don’t think about me while you’re this wet? You’re an even worse liar than I remember,” she taunts, but you don’t care.
You need this too bad.
“Shut up and fuck me,” you bark, moving your hips over her hand, trying to get any kind of stimulation you can. She doesn’t give you what you want.
“Tell me the truth,” she coos.
You’re so angry right now, but you also haven’t felt this alive in four months, so you drag her in for a bruising kiss. Her teeth clash against yours and she practically shoves her tongue down your throat and roughly bites your lower lip. You moan into her mouth and rip your arm free out of her grasp so you can scramble to get her suit jacket off.
Figures this would be happening while she’s wearing that.
You claw at her bare shoulders, making sure to rake your nails across her skin and she hisses with pain, so you do it again. She trails her lips down and sinks her teeth in hard to the juncture between your shoulder and neck. You yelp but it quickly turns into a moan when she moves your underwear to the side and shoves two fingers inside your waiting cunt.
Agatha’s head drops back as your eyes roll in your head. “Fuck, baby girl, I’ve missed this,” she sighs and you pull her to you urgently for another kiss, needing to make up for lost time.
It’s like nothing changed at all, and yet everything has, when she sets the same familiar fast pace from all those times before.
“She’s not gonna know what you need,” Agatha pants against your lips, thumb roughly swiping at your clit, pulling frantic gasps from your mouth. “Only I do. God, I’ve missed your cunt. Say it.”
“I’ve missed your fingers,” you finally give in and groan.
She thrusts them particularly hard and it has you clenching around her, biting onto her shoulder.
“And?” She urges.
“I’ve missed you,” you whimper, and she rewards you with a twist of her digits that has you groaning.
“Good girl,” she moans. “I’ve missed you, too.” Her admission sounds choked, and it makes the fire only burn brighter in your stomach.
And you want more. “Tell me you think about me,” you beg, and she raises an eyebrow, stopping her thrusts to fit a third finger into you. She curls them and you whine.
“I fucking think about you all the time,” she says like it pains her. “I miss you so fucking much.” Your breaths are intermingling with how close you are and you lift a leg up so she can get in deeper.
“I think about you too and I fucking hate it,” you snarl witheringly and she just chuckles and scissors her fingers inside you, effectively cutting your words off for a second. “You’re always on my mind and I can’t get you out of it.”
You’re getting closer and you know she can tell by the way your walls are fluttering around her.
“Tell me you still want me,” she orders and you keen, hands grappling around her to pull her even closer if it’s possible. You’ve missed her so much, the way she feels against you. Everything feels right again.
You’re clenching, getting tenser, and you know you’re about to cum. But she slows her movements and you think you could cry.
“Tell me the truth and I’ll keep going,” she says, voice getting softer. Tears form in your eyes and you know that you’re about to change anything.
You press your lips to hers and then pull back. “I still want you, Aggie, I still fucking love you so much.”
And her eyes get a feral look in them that you’ve rarely seen, even when she gets most possessive.
“Say it again,” she demands, voice low, as she starts fucking you roughly again.
“I love you, I still love you,” you practically sob and she kisses you harder than she ever has.
“I still love you too,” she says into your open mouth, and you cum all over her fingers.
She gently thrusts into you while you come down from one of the most intense orgasms you’ve ever had.
“I should’ve made more time for you and Nicky,” Agatha says softly. “I’m sorry, baby. I went too far and I wasn’t listening but I promise, I want to do better this time. Please, just give me another chance.”
This is the first time you’ve ever believed her. You’ve already seen what she’s doing when she has Nicky. And to be honest, you don’t think you’ll ever stop loving her.
“Are you sure?” You ask, just needing to be certain. “We have a lot to work on.”
She nods. “I know, baby girl. But I love you and these last four months have been hell. I know it won’t be easy but I want to make this work. For you and for Nicky.”
Overwhelmed, you pull her in for a long hug, finally admitting to yourself how much you need her. It felt like there was a piece missing from you, and you just got it back.
“Okay,” you say and you feel her smile against your cheek. “Let’s do it.”
She kisses you so sweetly it reminds you of your wedding day and then breaks it to laugh happily.
“So what now?” You ask.
She smirks. “I think you have a date to cancel.”

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤLOVESTRUCK BOY * MATT STURNIOLO

"Matt! Hellooo, is anyone there?" Nick spoke from behind the camera while moving his arms around exasperatedly, looking at his brother, who had his eyes focused on the couch in the back of the room.
Matt is the kind of guy that when he loves, he loves hard.
So to say that Matt was crazy about Y/N was an understatement, all that was on his mind day and night was his girlfriend; His days were happier with her by his side, he felt like he had more energy and strength to do anything, only because of her.
His favorite thing in the world was seeing her happy, so his heart warmed every time he heard her talking about the books she was reading with so much passion and affection - so much so that he lost count of how many times he took her to the bookstore and bought more than 100 dollars in books, just to be able to hear her talk about the characters that Matt never memorized the names of and the story that always made she speak too quickly and with so much devotion.
Whenever Matt was with his brothers or friends, he would mention his girl. It was automatic, everything reminded him of her. He was obsessed. With all that said, it was inevitable that, being in the same room, the boy wouldn't be able to take his eyes off her.
The theme of that Wednesday's video was something suggested by Y/N herself, as just a few minutes ago the four of them were lying on the sofa in the living room, the girl with her feet on Matt's lap while starting a new book, while the brothers watched old videos of themselves on television.
His hands caressed the tops of her feet covered in fluffy Iron Man socks, which she had probably stolen from his side of the drawer. Every now and then Matt's right hand would go up her legs to Y/N's left hand, taking it away from the book and to his mouth, sealing the warm, soft skin with love, keeping his eyes on the TV screen.
A smile grew on Matt's face every time his brothers made vomiting sounds, calling them disgusting. While Y/N felt like her cheeks could explode from how red they became.
Matt's teenage voice coming from the videos made Y/N's heart warm, and seeing the silly smiles on the triplets' faces as they traveled through the land of nostalgia made an idea pop into the girl's head, who instantly put down the book and paused the video, catching the attention of them.
And this takes us to the current moment, after Y/N has separated some pictures from when they were children, teenagers or nowadays on Nick's phone, having created an album to be used in that specific video.
Matt and Chris were sitting at the kitchen table, facing the camera, Nick - who was standing behind it with the album open on his phone -, and consequently also facing the sofa, where Y/N was sitting comfortably as she flipped through her book, a smile appearing every now and then on her face as her expressions changed according to the events in the story.
A cup of cappuccino that Matt made for her rested on her legs, keeping her warm, while her right hand came out of the book every now and then and picked up the drink, taking a sip.
It was the third time that Nick caught Matt's attention, who seemed to get lost in his girlfriend's figure, and all external sounds, including his brothers' voices, became muffled.
To disguise it, the boy would randomly guess the name of one of his brothers or himself when Nick showed a small part of a picture, getting it wrong almost every time. This led to him having the lowest score.
"What? Yes, that's Chris." Matt blinked his eyes quickly, looking away from Y/N and to the phone in Nick's hands.
"Matt, it's you!" Nick exclaimed, rolling his eyes and sighing, he knew the video would continue like this if he didn't get Y/N out of the room, but his best friend looked too comfortable on the couch.
"Pay attention, dumbass." Chris slammed the palm of his left hand against Matt's forehead, earning a slap back on the arm.
Y/N lifted her head from the book momentarily, holding back a laugh as she saw the brothers fighting, rolling her eyes playfully before returning her attention to the story, adjusting her position on the couch.
"I'm sorry, I'll pay attention. I promise." Matt raised his hands in surrender, swallowing hard as he glanced briefly at Y/N and saw her laughing softly, returning his eyes to his older brother and forcing himself to keep them there.
"For those of you who aren't understanding, Y/N is sitting on the couch reading, and Matt can't stop looking at her. He's obsessed, I swear." Nick muttered behind the camera, shaking his head even though they couldn't see him.
When the first round ended, Chris got up and took Nick's place behind the camera, agreeing to be the next to show the pictures and be the jury.
Nick handed him the phone and sat down next to Matt, looking briefly at the couch and closing his lips in a thin line at Y/N's wide eyes at the book, probably surprised by some absurd scene.
The oldest looked at Matt, seeing that his brother was already looking at Y/N, too. Their eyes quickly met when Matt felt Nick looking at him, a laugh escaping both of their mouths.
"Are you ready?" Chris asked after choosing the first picture he would use, receiving a nod from the two brothers, who had both arms on the table so they could reach the "button" faster.
The youngest zoomed in on the pic and turned the screen towards the two, waiting for one of them to get it right.
Matt had never moved so fast, his left hand slamming against the post-it too hard as his eyes were wide in euphoria.
"It's me! Look at Y/N's hand there." Matt shouted in excitement, raising his right hand and pointing at the phone behind the camera.
"Yeah, that's Matt." Nick sighed, knowing that even though he got it right too, Matt spoke first. "You only got it right because Y/N is in the picture!"
"Obviously, he knows Y/N's traits more than he knows his own." Chris scoffed from behind the camera, zooming out of the image and looking for the next one.
The picture in question was from a day when the four of them went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant about a year ago, Nick and Chris were sitting on one side of the table and Y/N and Matt on the other. Matt had his elbows resting on the wooden table and his hands crossed, laughter escaping his lips when he heard something Chris said, while Y/N joined him in laughing, her hands crossed around his right bicep and her head resting on his covered shoulder.
The pic was taken by Nick, being the passionate photographer that he was, and Chris felt a smile stretch across his face as he remembered the moment.
Even though they made fun of their brother so much for being a crazy in love for Y/N, they felt their chest fill with joy for their brother every time they saw them together. They knew that their brother had found his other half, and seeing him as happy as ever made them just as happy.
"I know, he's obsessed with her." Nick commented again, receiving a slap on the back of his head, letting out a laugh when he saw Matt roll his eyes, but don't deny anything.
The girl looked up again when she heard her name being said by one of the boys and her person being mentioned more than once. Her eyes met Matt's blue ones, who looked at her with love and affection, an easy smile appearing on his face almost automatically.
Y/N smiled back, blowing a kiss, which the boy pretended to catch with his left hand and keep in the pocket of his hoodie.
When the round changed again, it was Matt's turn to stand behind the camera and choose the pictures.
The boy got up from his seat, fixing his pants and walking over to where Chris was, taking the phone from his hand and closing the last picture chosen by the youngest.
His thumb scrolled across the screen, looking for the first one he would use as he let his brothers settle down.
A smile stretched across Matt's face as he passed by a picture of Nick and Y/N, where they were both wearing sunglasses, with feathers around their necks and making faces at the camera. Nick had his left hand raised showing a peace sign, and it was there that Matt decided to zoom in, but not before lingering his eyes for a few seconds on the full image, admiring his girlfriend there.
Matt took advantage of the fact that his brothers were in a silly argument and turned around momentarily, looking at his girl, who was now in a position that in his head was probably very uncomfortable, but he already knew that for Y/N, the most different positions were the best.
The girl felt eyes on her and looked up, seeing Matt standing there admiring her. A reddish color took over her cheeks, and her fingers played with the pages of the book, trying to hide her shyness.
Matt nodded briefly at the book as if asking her how the story was going. Y/N smiled at the action, making a chief kiss gesture with her right hand while her left held the book open, afraid of losing the page she stopped at.
"I want to hear all abo-" Matt began in a low voice, just for Y/N to hear, but his sentence was cut by a hand hitting the table.
"I'm going to get Y/N out of the room if you don't turn around now and do your job." Nick said, crossing his arms. Chris held back his laughter beside him, his face turning red from the force he exerted in the action.
"You're so unnecessary." Matt rolled his eyes, throwing a wink at Y/N, who had a goofy smile, before turning to face his brothers again.
"No, you are." Nick responded, opening his mouth to argue against Matt again, only to be stopped by Chris, who smacked his left arm while laughing.
"Go ahead, Matt." The youngest asked, straightening up and clearing his throat, looking at his brother as he waited for the first picture.
Nick sent a bored look to Y/N, who was still watching them intently. The girl laughed softly, turning her attention back to the book as she felt her heart warm.
Y/N felt so grateful for her boyfriend and his brothers, who she saw as family. She would never forget the day Nick thanked her for how happy she made his brother, but little did he know, it was Matt who made her the happiest.

therapuss!
summary: justin agrees to be on his girlfriend’s best friend’s podcast
word count: 1.1k
Tumblr media
When Jake suggested having Justin on his podcast Therapuss, Y/N honestly thought her boyfriend would politely decline. To her surprise, he was all for it. She’d always thought they had a cute older brother-younger brother dynamic, and she couldn’t wait for the world to see a new side of him.
But when the time came to film the episode, Justin was a bundle of nerves, frantically searching for the right outfit. He didn’t want to be overdressed, but definitely didn’t want to show up looking underdressed either. Y/N couldn’t help but smile as he ran in and out of his closet, holding up different options every few minutes. She’d tell him he looked fine in whatever he was wearing, but Justin was never satisfied, always finding something wrong.
After about twenty minutes of this, he threw in the towel and begged Y/N to choose for him. She giggled, planted a quick kiss on his lips, and headed to the closet. She picked out a dark green Nike sweatshirt, khaki shorts, and a black Nike hat.
“This was one of the first things I tried on,” Justin said, grabbing the outfit from her.
“It looked fine—just like half the stuff you tried on,” she said, flopping back on the bed. Justin plopped down beside her, looking like he was about to explode with nerves. He started talking about how anxious he was for the podcast. He knew Jake wouldn’t ask anything invasive, but he still worried he might say or do something that would rub people the wrong way.
Y/N reassured him that he had nothing to worry about—it was just a conversation, like any other. He smiled and pressed a quick kiss to her lips before putting on the outfit she had picked out for him.
“Hi Pussies, and welcome back to Therapuss! Today, I’m so excited to have the only NFL player I know, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert!” Jake introduced as everyone in the studio clapped. Justin waved at the camera with his signature dorky smile. “Okay, Justin, before we get to know you, I wanna know—what are you therapissed about today?”
“Therapissed?” Justin repeated, trying to think of something that had frustrated him. “I’ve got one. It takes a lot to upset me, but my biggest pet peeve is when people leave their shopping carts anywhere but the cart return. Y/N and I went to the store today, and the parking lot was packed. We thought we’d found the perfect spot, but as I pulled into it—boom!—there’s a cart right in the way.” Jake giggled as Justin continued. “The worst part? The cart return was right across from the spot.”
Jake nodded, chuckling. “I think I’ve only seen you truly upset once, and I’ve known you for about a year.”
“Yeah, I’m pretty chill, but when it comes to my family, I can lose it. Like, commentators can say whatever they want about me—I really don’t care. The NFL is tough, and it’s not easy. But when Y/N and I started dating, it felt like everyone’s focus was on her, and it was just frustrating.”
Jake smirked. “I actually wanted to talk to you about that. You’ve got this ‘I’m just a chill guy’ vibe, so it’s funny to see you get those little bursts of frustration—especially in games or in the media. Like, remember that game in Vegas this year? Y/N brought me, and we were sitting above the field, and I still heard you shout, ‘What are you waiting for?’ That was scary.”
“Yeah, well, that’s football for you,” Justin shrugged, trying to act casual. “I’m nothing like that off the field.”
The conversation flowed easily from there. Jake asked about Justin’s growing up in Eugene, his time at the University of Oregon, and how he’d probably have been a doctor if football hadn’t worked out. Y/N was excited to see her boyfriend open up, especially with the cameras rolling.
“I remember how obsessive Y/N was about you when you first started dating,” Jake laughed, glancing at Y/N, who buried her face in her hands. “When you became a TCL partner, she’d see those TV boxes everywhere, and it was her mission to take a picture with every single one.”
“I’m so lucky to have her,” Justin said, grinning.
“Okay, I’m gonna throw up,” Jake joked, putting his hand over his heart.
“Every time I look at her, I just wonder how every person who’s had the chance to meet her hasn’t fallen for her, even just a little bit.”
Justin smiled at Y/N, who returned his look. She knew how much he loved her. He showed it in every way he could, but it never stopped making her heart skip a beat.
“You two are the worst,” Jake sighed, shaking his head. “I genuinely hate you two so much.”
“Jake, we’ve had this conversation before,” Justin teased. “I’m totally ready to put you on one of those dating shows. Love Island would be perfect for you.”
The podcast wrapped up about 20 minutes later, and Jake and Justin filmed a few promotional videos and took some photos for social media before everyone headed out for lunch. The vibe was light and easy—lunch was more like a hangout than anything else. The podcast crew was small, and they were all good friends of Y/N and Jake, so it felt more like a family gathering than a work event.
Once it was time to go home, Y/N and Justin dropped Jake off at his place. The entire drive there, the trio sang along to their favorite songs,as if they were on an episode of Carpool Karaoke.
“Thanks so much, Mom and Dad!” Jake teased as he got out of the car. He gave Justin their signature handshake, the one that Y/N still had no idea when or how they’d come up with it, but she loved every time they did it. “Justin, thanks for coming on the pod. I can’t wait for it to come out!”
Y/N laughed, watching them. “You two are ridiculous.”
Jake turned to her with a grin. “And thank you for letting me ‘borrow your boyfriend’ for an hour,” he said, throwing her a wink.
“Anytime,” she replied with a teasing smile.
Once Jake was out of the car and waving goodbye, Y/N and Justin headed home. The whole way, Y/N couldn’t wipe the smile off her face. “Thanks for doing that,” she said, glancing over at Justin.
“Of course. I’d take any chance to talk about you for an hour,” he replied with a grin, his fingers intertwining with hers as he kissed the back of her hand. She squeezed his hand, smiling even more. “You’re such a dork”
“I mean it,” Justin said, his tone sincere. “You’re my favorite topic.”
Y/N's heart fluttered, and she leaned her head on his shoulder as they drove, feeling completely at peace

A tough pill to swallow - part 1
Kiddo forgets to refill her prescription soon after moving in with Leah and goes off the rails without her ADHD medication
Five months. It took living with Leah for five months for you to fall out of the routine of taking your medication. I mean you had only been diagnosed with ADHD since primary school so it really shouldn’t have taken such a short amount of time for you to forget such a vital part of your day. But here we are. You were currently on an extreme high and it felt amazing. You had so much energy that keeping up with your world class teammates was a breeze. You woke up at the crack of dawn full of energy as though you had drunk about 7 energy drinks at once.
The one problem was that this high lasted no longer than two days and what followed was something you never wanted to experience again. You woke up to your alarm blaring out at you, signalling you to another day of training. In the distance you could already hear Leah rummaging about in the kitchen, no doubt grabbing her protein powder to start off her smoothie for the day. You rolled over in bed and groaned, feeling like the weight of the world was on your chest.
Leah came into your room after three brisk knocks and immediately started singing “Good morning sunshine!” as she pulled your curtains back which led to you fighting the urge to either scream in her face or pull the duvet back over your face. You picked the latter which led Leah to roll her eyes and walk over to your bed and yank the covers off you.
“Cmon kiddo! You need to get out of bed, we only have 30 minutes before we need to leave the house” she spoke with an easy and upbeat tone that you found impossible to replicate so you just huffed and rolled over. “Kiiddddooooo you gotta get up and dressed now cmon lets go” to which you didn’t respond choosing to willfully ignore her, which Leah did not take well to. “Kid, I know you can hear me” she said with mild annoyance as she started poking you which was like her poking at your poorly contained irritability. You finally thought you had won when Leah walked out of your room with a huff, mumbling under her breath but that hope was very short lived as she soon returned with a cup of cold water and promptly trickled a little onto your face. This was the last straw for you as it shocked you out of your unrestful slumber. You shot up out of bed and all but screamed at Leah.
“LEAH WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!”
Leah (who really wasn’t expecting a reaction like that) was stunned into a temporary silence. She just stared at you dumbfounded that you had shouted at her like that whilst trying to regain her composure in order to not yell back at you.
“Kid I don’t appreciate you taking that tone with me” she spoke with a dangerously calm tone. “I was only trying to get you out of bed since you weren’t responding to me earlier, now if you will excuse me I am going to go and finish getting ready. I have set out your training kit on the side and we will be leaving in 25 minutes.” And with that Leah briskly walked out of the room leaving you to wallow in your guilt and annoyance. You hadn’t meant to scream at her like that, in truth you don’t really know what came over you. It was like you weren’t in control of yourself, you thought as you pulled on your kit. After you were all dressed and ready for the day, you sluggishly walked out of your room (choosing to ignore your bedside drawer where your empty prescription bottle lay).
You hated feeling like you were not in control of yourself, of your thoughts, your feelings or your actions. It was as if you were one comment away from exploding in anger but other than that you just felt numb. You felt so empty, so devoid of any feelings that normal people seem to have, but in some twisted way it was comforting. You welcomed it, after all you believed this is only what you deserved. If you were the one who couldn’t act like a fucking normal person, then you obviously deserved to feel like this.
As you moved downstairs you half expected to be met with a fist and screams in retaliation for the scene you had caused upstairs, so you kept your sight focused firmly on the floor - as if bracing for one impact or another. But when that didn’t happen you lifted your gaze from the floor with a little confusion. In doing that you saw Leah rummaging through her bag looking like she was trying to find something. You must’ve been standing there aimlessly for a few minutes until she noticed you and smiled.
“Hey kid, all ready to go? I just need to find my left shin pad then we can get on the road” she stated whilst still looking through her bag - albeit with a little more urgency than before. “There’s some toast left on the side there if you wanna help yourself or we can just grab something before training, up to you.”
You nodded in confusion at the lack of response to your outburst which Leah seemed to sense as she stopped what she was doing and looked at you.
“Kiddo I’m not angry at you, it was probably a poor judgment call on my part to think waking up a teenager with cold water would work” she stated with an amused look on her face.
You just nodded hesitantly, as if you were still waiting for some kind of punishment.
“I uh, I am really sorry for shouting at you Le” you mumbled out.
“What was that Kiddo, I couldn’t quite hear what you said there”
You took a deep breath before speaking more clearly, “I’m really sorry Le.”
Leah just smiled at you before saying “Water under the bridge kid, it’s all forgiven.”
That should’ve eased the guilt you were feeling but it just made you feel worse. All you could think about was that you screamed at such a sweet and caring person and all she did was forgive you like it was nothing then blame herself for the situation.
The entire journey towards the training centre was filled with Leah humming along to her playlist of the day and you staring out of the window trying not to fuck anything else up, and as soon as you had arrived, you were quick to jump out of the car and grab your kit bag before all but running into the building to get ready for the first session of the day. Leaving Leah, who hadn’t even turned the ignition off, to sit there bewildered wondering what on earth had just happened. She was used to your cheeky personality chatting her ear off about one topic or another that had caught your interest before running off in search of your shared teammates who were more into pulling pranks on the rest of the team. Not whatever had happened just then. Leah caught the confused eye of Beth who was walking in with Katie McCabe as they were usually your prank pulling counterparts. But after watching you walk into the building without so much as saying hello to them, Leah knew there was something going on with you that was bigger than just the usual teenage hormones. And by the looks of it both Beth and Katie knew it too as they quickly waved over to Leah before silently asking what was wrong, to which Leah just responded with a sigh and a shrug of the shoulders as she watched you disappear into the building, quickly feeling despair wash over her because the truth was.
She truly had no idea how to fix this.

Another group hang out. You’d been avoiding them for three weeks now. The simple thought of being near Pedri had sent you into a spiral. Every time you thought of him, your heart bursted and your stomach ached terribly. But you’d managed to suck it up since it was a birthday party.
The house bustled with friends and you’d found yourself in the corner of the living room, sipping from a cold Dr.Pepper. You watched everyone interact, laughing at a few stories, but your attention was solely focused on Pedri. Every time he laughed, you felt your heart rate pick up, every time he caught your eye, you couldn’t breathe.
Eventually, Pedri seemed to be getting annoyed with the stolen glances and your apparent avoidance. He stood up from the couch and swiftly made his way toward you.
Nerves wracked your body and suddenly you couldn’t sit still. You switched from foot to foot, eyes darting around the room. What the hell was he doing?
“Is there something wrong? With me, specifically?” Pedri asks shortly, at his wits end with you.
“Well, there’s a lot wrong with—“ Your words are cut short when Pedri wraps a hand around your arm, “what are you doing?” Your eyes form silts at his action.
Pedri pulls you to the deserted kitchen, letting his hand drop from your arm. “I’m serious.” He huffs out your name like it was the most frustrating thing in the world. “You’re staring at me all night, but you won’t say a word to me! Not to mention the fact that you haven’t showed up to the last, fuck—the last dozen get togethers. Do you hate me that much?”
You’re a little—no, a lot, surprised at his words. The fact that it wasn’t anger coming from him, it was more like exhaustion. Like you were causing him genuine distress.
“Why do you care?” You scoff, narrowing your eyes at him. Nothing could hide the confusion in your face, though, and that only seemed to rile up the brunette more.
“Jesus!” Pedri’s arms are thrown up in distress. “Tell me what it is that makes you hate me and i’ll change it! I’ll change my fucking personality if that’s what it is. Is it my hair? Would you like me to cut it a different way? Just tell me what to do and i’ll do it.” He finishes, eyebrows pulling up as he breathes heavily.
Your tongue dart out to wet your lips and you rub your face. “I don’t—I don’t hate you. For God’s sake, I don’t hate you, and don’t change. I don’t want you to change.” Your hands drop to your sides, already sick and tired of this conversation. “Why does it bother you so much? We aren’t friends or anything.”
Pedri’s jaw ticks. “Because I—“ He clamps his jaw shut. “I just… I want you to like me.” He finally spits out through gritted teeth.
You almost laugh at that. He wanted you to like him, and all you wanted to do was figure out why you seemed to like him so much.
Your mouth opens and closes half a dozen times before you finally find the courage to speak, though it comes out in a whisper. “I do.”
“What?” Pedri groans, “speak up, please?”
“I do.” You say louder, “I do like you.”
Now he’s quiet for a moment, and it was deafening. “So why are you acting like you hate me?” He pleads with you in his tone of voice, begging for an explanation. A reason as to why he had to chase you for a sliver of.. well, anything.
“I don’t have an answer for that. Sorry. I just don’t know how to be around you without nearly exploding. You made me want to explode and I don’t know why.” You lean back against the counter, resting your head on your own shoulder as you finally get yourself to look at him.
Pedri hadn’t taken his eyes off you, the pure distress in his expression had only deepened the longer he looked at you. “Well you make me want to explode. So, I guess the feeling’s mutual.”
Rubbing your temples, you couldn’t help the laugh that escaped your lips. “I don’t think you understand. Pedri, you make me want to explode in the way that when I see you, I can’t breathe. When i’m near you, I feel like my hearts going to combust.” The confession spewed off your tongue with a heavy sigh, and it felt like a thousand pounds of bricks being lifted off your shoulders.
Pedri’s face contorts, “what the hell. And you made me chase after you for years just for you to decide you like me now? Are you fucking with me?”
Years? He’s wanted you for years?
“Are you fucking with me? Years? Pedri. What even—what are you talking about right now.” Your jaw drops, “you know what? That’s not even important. What is important, is what we’re supposed to do now. Because I can’t keep pretending like I don’t want you.” Pushing yourself off the counter, you made slow, hesitant steps toward the man.
Pedri meets you half way, his hands reaching toward your face. “Neither can I.” His thumbs graze your cheeks tenderly, scared you’d pull away at any second.
“Good.” You swallow thickly, eyes flickering to his lips. “Good.. Good—“ His lips were on yours, kissing you like you were the air he breathed on a daily basis. As if the small act was the only thing he’d needed to keep him grounded forever.
“Oh this is disgusting. Get a room.” The familiar voice of your friend snapped the two of you from the new reality you had created.
Pedri pulls away from you, his hands still cupping your face as you two both glance toward the girl. “Oh, shut up.” You grumble. “What do you want?”
“Well, if your love fest is over, we’re about to open presents.” She smirks, wiggling her eyebrows in a teasing manor.
“We’ll be in there in a second.” Pedri nods his head, motioning for her to leave the two of you alone. She does so, but not before sending you a quick wink.
Once she’s gone, Pedri turns his attention back to you. “We should probably go..”
“Probably.” You nod in agreement, a small red hue passing across your cheeks. “Then what?”
The taller man’s eyebrow twitches, his lip curling into a small smirk. “Then we leave early, and I take you out?”
“A date? Already?” You laugh, “so smooth, always.”
Pedri shrugs unashamedly, “always.” He hums, pressing six soft pecks to your lips, and each time, you giggle into them.
Your friends had been right, you two were certainly going to be the perfect pair.

"Caught On Stream"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rating:Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: fluff, secret relationship, money bets were made, protective Chris, pet names: mamas, baby, sweet girl
Pairing: Chris Sturniolo x Soft!Reader
Fandom:Sturniolo Triplets
Summary: getting your period on stream....Chris gets protective... more than friends...or no who knows
Word Count: ~1.2k
Tumblr media
I loved hanging out with the triplets. They were my comfort zone, my laughter medicine, and, well, one of them was a little more than that. But no one knew about Chris and me—not Nick, not Matt, and definitely not their fans. It wasn’t that we were hiding it out of shame; we just loved the privacy.
So, when they asked me to join their stream, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. I adored spending time with all three of them, and it sounded like fun.
“We’ll set up in the room,” Nick had said, bouncing around with excitement as he placed snacks and drinks on the desk.
When the stream started, it was chaos right from the get-go. The chat was going crazy, commenting on everything from Nick’s shirt to Matt’s hair to Chris’s grin. And, of course, they noticed me right away.
“Who’s the guest of honor?” Nick asked dramatically, turning the camera toward me.
I waved awkwardly. “Hi, guys. I’m Y/N.”
The chat exploded with messages.
WHO IS SHE?!
She’s so pretty omg.
Matt’s gf confirmed??
That last one made me laugh, and Matt shook his head with an exasperated sigh. “Guys, stop. Y/N’s just a friend.”
Nick smirked. “Or is she?”
“Shut up, Nick,” Chris muttered, his eyes flicking toward me for a split second. I felt the heat rise in my cheeks but played it cool.
The stream continued, the four of us bantering and answering questions from the chat. I was perched on Chris’s lap since there were only three chairs, a fact we explained away as “no big deal” when someone inevitably asked about it.
But about thirty minutes in, I felt the first telltale cramp. My stomach twisted, and I shifted uncomfortably, trying to ignore it.
“Baby, you good?” Chris whispered in my ear, his voice low enough that the mic didn’t pick it up.
I nodded quickly, forcing a smile. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
I wasn’t fine.
Ten minutes later, the cramps had worsened, and I started feeling that awful dampness that told me my period had arrived—uninvited and completely unwelcome. My face burned with embarrassment as I tried to figure out what to do. I couldn’t exactly stand up and announce my problem to the room or, worse, to the thousands of people watching the stream.
Chris must have noticed something was off because he gently squeezed my hip, his head dipping closer to mine. “What’s wrong, mamas?” he murmured.
“I think I got my period,” I whispered back, barely able to meet his eyes.
His expression shifted immediately, concern clouding his features. “Do you need to get up? Change? Anything?”
“Chris—” I started, but before I could finish, he was already muting the stream mic and standing up, lifting me with him like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Yo, what are you doing?” Nick asked, frowning as Chris carried me toward the door.
“I’ll be right back,” Chris said, his tone brisk.
Matt glanced at Nick, then back at us. “Uh… okay?”
The chat went wild.
WHY IS HE CARRYING HER?!
OMG ARE THEY DATING??
CHRIS AND Y/N CONFIRMED.
Once we were out of the room, Chris set me down gently in the hallway. “Okay, baby what do you need? Pads? Tampons? Medicine?”
“Chris, I—”
“Hey, hey, hey stop,” he said softly, cupping my face in his hands. “Don’t be embarrassed, okay? Periods happen. Just tell me what you need.”
I bit my lip, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. “I don’t want to ruin the stream…”
“Screw the stream. You’re more important, especially right now sweet girl” he said firmly, brushing a strand of hair out of my face. “Now, tell me what you need.”
“Um… a pad. And maybe some Advil?”
“Done,” he said, pressing a quick kiss to my forehead before disappearing down the hall.
By the time we returned to the room, the chat was in absolute chaos, and Nick was glaring at Chris like he’d just committed a crime.
“What was that about?” Nick demanded, his arms crossed.
“None of your business,” Chris shot back, guiding me back onto his lap.
“Oh, it’s definitely my business,” Nick countered, narrowing his eyes. “You’ve been acting weird around her all night.”
“Yeah, you’re, like, extra nice to her,” Matt added, smirking.
Chris rolled his eyes, his arm tightening protectively around my waist. “Can we just get back to the stream?”
“Sure,” Nick said slowly, a sly grin spreading across his face. Since he had un muyed the stream while we were gone. “But only if you admit it.”
“Admit what?” Chris asked, his tone laced with faux innocence.
“That you’re dating her.”
Chris froze for half a second, his eyes flicking to mine. I gave him a small, almost imperceptible nod. If this was how it came out, so be it.
“Fine,” Chris said with a sigh, his lips quirking up into a small smile. “Yeah, we’re dating.”
Nick let out a triumphant whoop, spinning in his chair to face Matt. “Told you! Pay up!”
Matt groaned, pulling a fifty-dollar bill out of his pocket and slapping it into Nick’s outstretched hand.
“You bet on us?” I asked, my jaw dropping.
“Of course we did,” Nick said, grinning. “It was so obvious. Chris can’t keep his hands off you.”
Chris groaned, burying his face in my shoulder. “I hate you guys.”
The chat, meanwhile, was exploding with messages.
I KNEW IT!!!
CHRIS AND Y/N ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER OMG.
Nick was right all along.
"I love this for y'all honestly." Nick said still doing his happy dance waving the $50 in the air.
Despite my earlier embarrassment, I couldn’t help but laugh. Chris tightened his hold on me, pressing a kiss to the side of my head.
“Well, the secret’s out now,” he murmured, his voice warm.
“Guess so,” I replied, leaning back against him.
And honestly? It didn’t feel so bad.
