Basic backstories, setup and just few little things about Werewolf Cole Au. A synopsis if you will?
There's no elemental powers, Overlord, Zane isn't a nindroid, etc. Just basically a regular world with small real myths such as Werewolves.
Werewolf wolf forms aren't humanoid, but really are just big 6ft tall wolves.
Kai and Nya do live in a house near the woods and their parents were never kidnapped so they were raised by them. However they both are in a line of work that has them not home most of the time.
Kai & Nya found Lloyd on the streets being bullied from other kids. Kai immediately couldn't stand it and stepped in. When asked where Lloyd lived so they could take him, Lloyd said he didn't have one.
After a long video call later, and a quick visit by Maya, Lloyd was able to be adopted into their family and enroll in school under the name Lloyd Smith.
Kai is 20, Nya is 18, Lloyd is 14, Cole is 21, Jay is 18, Zane is 23, Pixal is 22, Skylor is 21. Excluding Cole till later, they're just a big friend group.
Kai is trying to find a good College to get into while working at Skylor and her Mother's small Noodle Shop. There is no Chen because I said so.
Skylor and Kai used to date in Highschool, but found to be better friends instead and now are just close friends.
Jay & Nya are in highschool Senior Year, and are together.
Zane & Pixal was friends with them in highschool, but now are in College together. Also a couple, and they love to visit when they can and video chat.
Lloyd is in Middle School. He's managed to make few friends there but his best friends are his adopted siblings, their friends, and his adopted cat, Meowthra.
Cole was childhood friends with Jay back in another town until one day him, his father and mother had to suddenly move out without a word to anyone. So to Jay, his childhood friend just one day disappeared.
There are Werewolf Hunters after them.
Cole gets his wolf side from Lily.
Lily doesn't pass away when he was younger, but is sick. Lou moves them to the Town where the gang are, hearing about how it's nice and close to some woods, good clean air, and he did some digging and saw nothing about Hunters being in the town because the Forest and its wildlife are supposed to be protected.
Cole is trying to figure out what to do for his mother and always goes out to the woods at night to let himself be a wolf, especially because he doesn't have complete control of his transformation like Lily.
Unfortunately Hunters did follow them.
The Hunters one day went to eat at the Noodle Shop and talked about going hunting in the Woods. Kai overheard, and he knows the Woods are not to be hunted in. Kai tried leaving a voicemail to Skylor but his phone unfortunately died mid message. He wasn't sneaky enough about it and the Hunters did notice.
At the end of his shift, locking up the Noodle Shop, Kai is jumped by the Hunters so they don't have a goody goody try and ruin their hunt.
Kai managed to get away and did run off into the woods, hoping to lead them off his tail, not find their way to his house, while also hoping to manage to get home through the woods.
Kai of course loses the Hunters, but unfortunately his ankle did get sprained pretty bad and he stops to sit against a tree once he's sure he's safe.
That's when Cole finds him after smelling some of his blood.
Kai never heard of any reports of wolves in the woods, especially none that are 6ft tall. So understandably, Kai freezes up in fear while also knowing he wouldn't get anywhere if he tried.
Cole approaches, luckily just have hunted something himself so Kai's blood doesn't affect his hunter instincts too much.
Cole slowly approaches Kai before licking his wounds. He turns Kai around and grabs him by the back of his jacket, carrying him off to his little den he set up for when he's out in the woods.
Kai freaks out and is about to yell before he hears the distant sound of a Jeep driving through the woods which leads him to shut up in fear its the hunters.
This also has Cole rush to the den.
The den is set up with a large bedroll, campfire and few other necessities because Cole goes to it when he's a human as well. It surprises Kai, but he doesn't complain when the big wolf sets him down and carries over a first aid kit.
Even after patching himself up, Kai still can't get up, but it seems the Wolf in front of him basically saved him and maybe has an owner. Plus, out of fear of running into the hunters, he decides okay he'll stay for the night.
Cole does notice Kai starts shivering when trying to sleep, so he goes over to offer some warmth. Kai while uneasy with a big wolf next to him, accepts it, not wanting to risk going against it and it is nice.
This leads to both of them falling asleep and Cole completely forgetting he's going to change back in the morning.
So Kai wakes up being hugged by this large shirtless man. His screaming wakes Cole up, leading him to screaming as well as the scramble to get apart.
The den is surprisingly close to Kai's house, so as Nya is about to head out on her bike to find out why Kai didn't come home last night, she hears him screaming in the woods.
After the screaming stops, Kai and Cole stare at each other. Kai in complete bewilderment, glancing around for that wolf from last night unaware it was Cole. Cole meanwhile is frozen, slapping himself mentally for some reason helping this random stranger as a wolf and not thinking about him turning back in the morning.
Nya calls out for Kai though, drawing his attention away from Cole and allowing him a moment to slip away.
Kai after realizing he was left alone, decides to get up, limping out of the den to call out to Nya.
Kai is brought home and his wounds are more properly treated. A call to Skylor to look out for the guys that jumped Kai and to let her know what's up.
Kai tells the story about the Wolf. Lloyd gets excited wanting to find a big nice Wolf himself, but Nya quickly dismisses it to it most likely just being a dream passing out in the woods. Hoping to delude Lloyd from going and searching the woods for said Wolf, while also not believing it herself.
Kai is basically forced to stay home till they know the Hunters aren't going to go after him again, and to heal up his ankle.
Kai keeps thinking about that night while during his little house arrest, and even dreams of the man he woke up next to, turning into the 6ft Wolf that helped him.
One night when he's okay to walk again and Nya is at Jay's house with Lloyd to help him study, and for a little sleepover, Kai sneaks out back to the woods, finding the den again and hopes to come across the Wolf again.
Cole wanders in as a wolf and freezes noticing Kai waiting for him. He was no different from Kai, constantly thinking about the other in numerous ways since their encounter.
Cole unfortunately wasn't so prepared for another meeting and turns to run away, but finds himself freezing when Kai cries out "Wait!"
Kai slowly approaches Cole.
"You can understand me, can't you?" Cole looks Kai in the eyes and nods to Kai's slight surprise.
"Are you that guy I woke up next to?" Cole whines in response, in fear of Kai knowing.
"It's okay! I... well its little weird to think about, but... wow I was actually right? Haha, I don't know how to feel about this, but I won't go ratting you out don't worry!" Cole's ears perk up in surprise.
That's when the familiar sound of a Jeep reaches both their ears. Smelling the air, Cole whines, recognizing the smell of Hunters, moving to turn and run again, but Kai stops him again.
Kai offers and brings Cole back to his house to help hide him. Cole feels like he should reject, and not trust so easily, but he finds himself following Kai easily.
That's when Kai walks in with Cole, ducking through the back door and see Nya and Lloyd who just got home because the sleep over got cancelled.
After a lot of panic and explaining later, Nya agrees to help out Cole, wanting more explaining from him if Kai saying him turning into a human is true.
Lloyd is very excited to see such a big wolf and starts talking to Cole a lot. It surprises Cole, but he also finds it enjoyable to see a kid so excited to actually see him like this after growing up and being told by Lou he should never show his secret to anyone.
Lloyd does bring Meowthra to Cole, and while Kai and Nya were expecting the usual Cat vs Dog or this case, Wolf, Meowthra surprisingly really likes Cole and they get along fine.
Lloyd helps Kai give food to Cole once they hear the wolf's tummy growl.
The next morning, Cole wakes up in the living room as human and he does explain what he is. Pleading for the trio of siblings to not say anything, especially after he smelled Hunters and learned they're the ones who hurt Kai. They of course agree to the promise.
This starts the cycle of Cole coming over some nights as a Wolf and staying the night.
Cole is excited to talk to people again after being on the run and being hidden for so long and a nice distraction from worrying about his mother.
Kai finds himself wanting to spend more and more time with Cole until he realizes he's actually falling in love with a werewolf.
Overtime the rest of the friend group also accidentally learn about Cole but agree to keep the secret. Jay especially being really happy to see his childhood friend again and getting an explanation why he disappeared so long ago.
Kai find himself talking a lot about Cole to his siblings and Skylor. Cole does the same to Jay about Kai.
Of course they do confess at some point. Or basically forced to by everyone.
Cole keeps all this a secret from Lou because his father has grown to always have a constant worry of his son and wife being hurt because their Wolf sides. He talks to Lily about everyone though when he thinks she's asleep, but she does hear it all and is happy to hear her son is happy. She doesn't tell Lou until Cole is ready.
Cole is a clingly bf when him and Kai are together, being very touch starved from only having his mom & dad for so long. Kai loves attention, so it works out perfectly.
Cole as a wolf will sometimes just pick up Kai to bring him t lay down with and enjoy cuddles. When human, he loves to come up from behind for a hug.
Kai brought Cole to work one day and Cole fell in love with the food there ofc.
When Cole first ate cake around the others, he was a wolf and they did immediately get scared with mindset of chocolate bad for dogs. Morning came and Cole reassured he was fine and is still okay to eat anything he can as a human, as a wolf.
Cole does still struggle with gaining control of his transformation but that mainly affects to him turning into a wolf every night. Lily can turn into a wolf anytime she wants.
However sometimes Cole finds himself losing to his wolf instincts and needs to hunt or gets hostile.
First time Cole loses himself as a wolf he is hostile, but Kai slowly approaches him, treating it like he would for Lloyd when he has panic attacks, and brings Cole out of it. Mostly succeeding to get close because Cole smells his own scent on Kai.
They all do try and pitch in to find a way to help Lily, and stop the Hunters.

For the Kai is a spy for Chen Au does the ninja ever get suspicious about Kai? What does Kai do when everyone is searching for the spy? (Since Kai has the tattoo and Skylor can easily hide it) When the ninja find out Kai works for Chen do they feel betrayed? I'm sorry for all the questions this Au just really interest me.
Don’t worry about it haha
I’m actually glad somebody’s interested enough in the au to ask questions!
-
For your first question, I feel like the ninja as a whole won’t be suspicious of Kai since, well, he’s Kai. He’s built his identity around protecting people he cares about and would never work with the villain right?
Moving on, while the ninja (for the most part) wouldn’t be suspicious of Kai, Garmadon would. Of course, it’d start off as concern for Kai when he’d notice Chen and Clouse taking and interest in him. He tells the ninja to never let themselves be left alone with Chen and/or Clouse, but while he warns them he notices Kai stiffen. From then on he starts to notice Kai look nervous whenever Jay starts throwing accusations, and how sometimes he’d sneak off past or right before curfew. He decides to keep a close eye on Kai after a while.
(Ok I know I said none of the ninja would be suspicious of Kai, but I kind of want to bring up how I’ve been throwing around the idea of Jay being at least a bit suspicious of Kai. Towards the beginning of s4, Jay was very openly suspicious of the other elemental masters, and since he hasn’t worked with Kai, Cole, or Lloyd since Zane’s death he probably hasn’t entirely ruled out any possible betrayals. His suspicions never really lead anywhere and eventually he shrugs off any suspicious activity from Kai as stress (or maybe he follows Kai one day out of suspicion and finds him meeting up with Clouse).)
-
Second question time!
Kai nearly gets away with not showing his tattoos during their search for the spy. He’s the fire ninja. A protector of Ninjago. He wouldn’t fall to Chen’s side now would he?
The search goes relatively similar to canon. Skylor willingly shows her back and covers up her tattoo using Chamille’s power, Shade runs, and everyone decides to call it a day thinking they’ve found the spy.
That is, until Garmadon speaks up.
He insists on Kai having to show his back due to his growing suspicion. Kai sort of takes Skylor’s place and starts ranting about Garmadon’s lack of trust in him, and is backed up by Lloyd (and maybe Jay, but I feel like Jay’s lingering suspicions of Kai would hold him back). While Kai’s arguing Skylor comes up with a plan to use Neuro’s powers to haze everyone’s memory of Kai’s tattoos. Kai’s reluctant to try since he doesn’t even know if it’ll work, but he goes through with it anyway.
All goes as planned, nobody realizes he or Skylor are spies, and they all go back to their rooms.
Although, Neuro notices somethings wrong later that night.
-
As for your final question, most of the ninja absolutely felt betrayed by Kai (granted, at different times since I want his reveal to be spread out for some reason).
Zane didn’t feel any betrayal after the tournament. PIXAL had been running when Kai had first dropped by and was able to pick up that he was being blackmailed. Because of this she was able to relay Kai’s situation to Zane and he made it his goal to get out of the factory and let Kai know he’s OK. (Zane absolutely felt horrible about being the reason Kai was being blackmailed.)
Cole felt betrayed, angry, and above all, confused. He had found out Kai had betrayed the team during his power extraction ceremony and all he could think about was why had he done it? Why had Kai gone behind their backs and worked with Chen? Why had Kai contributed to their pain?
Cole was extremely angry at Kai up until he saved Zane who later explained Kai’s position. After he found out about the blackmail, Cole made it his mission to let Kai know Zane was OK.
Nya was devastated after Kai practically walked her right into Chen’s hands. She kept denying that it was actually Kai who was working with Chen. That the real Kai would’ve helped her off the island. Or that he was being forced into working with Chen and that she’d help him out of it.
Of course, by the end of it all she was right. He wasn’t siding with Chen willingly. When she found this out she was more than relieved.
Jay was the least affected by Kai’s betrayal because he kind of saw it coming. Not to say he wasn’t hurt, but his suspicions paired with the circumstances he learned about Kai’s betrayal (if we go by my rough idea of Jay following Kai to a meeting with Clouse)? Kind of watered down the surprise. He’s definitely relieved after learning Kai was blackmailed, but makes a joke about not having to fight him now that he knows Kai’s still on their side.
Lloyd was one of the worst hit with Kai’s betrayal (only second to Nya). He found out while being pitted against Kai and Skylor as the final round of the tournament. Chen revealed both of them as spies and Lloyd couldn’t bring himself to genuinely fight Kai. Most of his attacks were aimed at Skylor, leaving him vulnerable to Kai and led to his defeat. Lloyd can’t even look at Kai when the time for his ceremony comes around.
Lloyd cries (he doesn’t know whether they’re tears of joy or not) when he found out Kai was forced into the role of being a spy.
Garmadon can’t help but feel bad for Kai. He’s been in his situation before. He knows how it feels to have Chen get into your head and twist your thoughts (although, he didn’t know Clouse was literally doing that). He never felt betrayed by Kai’s actions, he was disappointed and a bit angry, but he understood Kai’s situation.
-
Feel free to send in asks about this AU whenever! It gives me an excuse to hurt these LEGO people :)

*slams hands on table* AIGHT SO ONCE AGAIN NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS BUT I FEEL LIKE INFO DUMPING ANYWAY TO BUCKLE UP
Today’s topic is the Element Power of Amber
Now, admittedly our knowledge about Amber a bit bare. All that’s been confirmed by canon is that the user needs contact with another Master in order to use the powers. It doesn’t even need to be skin on skin contact as shown with Kai on the boat who was wearing gloves when he took Skylor’s hand.
Now, this “Touch Master, Permanent Power" is incredibly overpowered and seems to lack some of the draw backs we’ve seen from other elements, most notably how Amber seemingly doesn’t need as much practice when it comes to mastering the abilities.
So I've gone and sort of tweaked it a little while still allowing it to be canon compliant
Basically, the length Amber Masters can hold the power is reliant on the users personal connection to the other Master, the closer they are the longer they can hold it. For example, if a Master of Amber just touches another Master without really interacting, the user can hold it for maybe a few hours if they're really trying, but if the Master of  Amber is decent friends then they can hold it for almost a week
Ofc, there's varying kinds of relationships(platonic, romantic, familial), but the most important part is how the Master of Amber views the relationship. Not in the sense of “if Amber is madly in love and the other Master hates them they’ll have the same amount of power as if the love was real,” that wouldn’t work(if anything it would still be counted as a negative bond) but in the sense of “if the Amber Master thinks of the relationship as lesser than it is, it will severely weaken the power,” sometimes even going as far as to completely block it. It's still there, but the Master can't access it until they work through and truly acknowledge the bond.
I like to think that at some point in history when a Master of Amber got together with another Master it helped them get over their obliviousness prior to the relationship and realized “oh shit I like like them”
There’s also how if a Master of Amber has a negative relationship with a Master it will either a) have the powers not work at all or b) have the powers backfire
Now because of the reasons listed above, Masters of Amber are some of the more social Masters, which can be both a good and a bad thing.
Good because they have a sort of natural charisma that makes them good at befriending others and uniting allies to fight together.
Bad because if they don’t get a certain amount of Social Interaction, especially with other Masters, it can start to take a toll on them, specifically their powers.
This also sort of add to why I think Skylor was so skilled with the Elements when she had a limited time with them. After going literally her whole life without interacting with any Master, her powers sort of over compensated and went a bit overkill. This is also why both her and Kai were so quick to click and trust each other. Now, Karloff doesn’t count because he seemingly went to Skylor to pick a fight and thus the powers didn’t recognize it as a bond, but Kai tried to defend her which definitely would seem like something to spark some sort of relationship.
Speaking of spark, more fuel to this specific theory comes in the form of how there was literally a spark when Skylor went to help Kai up, and it seemed to be specifically Skylor’s powers acting up instead of Kai’s. We never see this kind of reaction again throughout the numerous times Skylor copies another’s power.
Now, there is the question of how Zane falls into this since we don’t know whether Skylor took his powers before the Tournament, but that shouldn’t matter all too much since Zane was most likely unconscious during that time and thus wasn’t able to form any sort of relation with Skylor, unlike Kai.
but yeah those are my thoughts. hope it makes sense
please ask me things about ninjago stuffs, doesn’t matter what, I love info dumping but sometimes have trouble coming up with what to talk about

Ninjago Father Rank List cuz Happy Father’s Day :>
Btw I’m doing this in alphabetical order: Chen, Cliff Gordon, Cole, Cyrus Borg, Dr. Julien, Ed, Emperor of Ninjago, Garmadon PreS2, PostS2, and PostS8, Lou, Nelson’s Dad, Ray, Skales, and Wu
1)The Cs: Chen, Cyrus Borg, Cole, and Cliff Gordon
Tumblr media
Chen: 4/10, he’s great as a character but not so much as a father, he used Skylor as a weapon and once she was no use to him he just left her on an island without a second thought, we at least know he didn’t starve or abuse her cuz she seems to be in good health when we see her and owns a popular brand of restaurant plus he doesn’t seem like the person to do that either so he gets a few points for that
Cyrus Borg: 9/10, he’s a great father from what I remember/have seen, he lets his daughter Pixal do what she wants cuz he knows that she’s capable of defending herself and treats her as a daughter instead of just an assistant or as a thing that doesn’t have emotions, my only real nit pick here is that he doesn’t create her a new body after S4, if he knew she was alive I think he would want to make her a new body, and when we see him in S5 he doesn’t seem to be affected by the lost of his child, this would only make sense of the ninja told him that she’s in Zane’s head but then why didn’t he create her a new body? Other then that little nit pick though he’s a great father and I love his character :>
Cole: 10/10, he’s Dad Cole, what do you expect? Seriously though Cole seems like he would be a great father from what we see in S8 and S9, like the scene where Lloyd tosses Baby Wu to the ninja on the Bounty in S8 and Cole just instinctively f—king jumps off the Bounty to save Wu, he didn’t know that Jay was going to catch him so he basically was gonna sacrifice his life to make sure Baby Wu was safe, same thing with the Bounty falling from the sky into the jungle in the same season, he just ran over to Baby Wu and held him to make sure he was safe while the ship was falling from the sky, I love him :D!
Cliff Gordon: ?/10, I can’t really judge Cliff cuz we don’t know his reason for him giving Jay up for adoption or if he even knew about Jay or that he was his child in the first place
2) Dr. Julien
Tumblr media
8/10, He obviously cares a lot about Zane based on what he does in S2 aka the only season he is in alive, though he does just leave Echo alone in the light house even when Zane says in the same episode he finds Dr. Julien “No body deserves to be in captivity, even monsters” or something similar, I couldn’t find the original quote on Google, but other then that he seems like a really really nice, good guy and good father
3)Ed and Emperor of Ninjago
Tumblr media
Ed: 10/10 He’s one of the only parents in this this show that isn’t dead/disappears and he makes up for all the bad/absent parents in this show cuz even though he is adopted Jay’s adopted father he is one of, if not the, best parent in this show cuz he obviously cares so much for Edna and Jay and idk how to explain how much he is just such a great dad character he’s mostly jokes and caring goofy dad but he can be serious when the situation requires it shown in S6, he’s just amazing :3
Emperor of Ninjago: idc/10, I don’t really care about him much tbh, I don’t think he’s a bad character I just never really got attracted or invested in him :/
Garmadon PreS2, PostS2, and PostS8
Tumblr media
PreS2 Garmadon: 10/10, Even if he had evil running through his veins he wouldn’t dare hurt his son and threw a Snek for even suggesting the idea
PostS2 Garmadon: 11/10, Same as PreS2 Garmadon but not evil, he’s just amazing in general, I’m sure there are entire posts on why Garmadon is an amazing character and parent so I’ll just move on
PostS8 Garmadon: 0/10, he nearly beat up his kid to death and said “I have no son” before yeeting him through several stone walls, he’s an amazing character but not the best father :’/
4) Lou, Nelson’s Dad, Ray, Skales, and Wu
Tumblr media
Lou: 7/10 Lou cares for Cole and when Cole tells him about being a ninja he denies it not cuz he thinks it’s wrong to be a ninja, he does it cuz he doesn’t believe stealing part of his plan in any sense is good, once Cole gets the trophy without stealing it but with dancing Lou fully supports Cole being a ninja and saying he’s proud of him, he didn’t mean to be a strict/detached father to Cole after his mother’s death, it’s just the way he grieved with it, so even if he wasn’t the best father he is nowhere near the worst
Nelson’s Dad: 😈🔪/10, Went to a pizzeria to get some milk, wonder when he’s gonna come back :/
Ray: ?/10, I don’t think I can give my opinion on Ray since he was taken away from his kids when they were very young and we haven’t seen anyway fatherly scenes with him and his kids before they were kidnapped so yeah, there’s that
Skales: 🐍?/10 I love Skales as a character but same thing as Ray here too :’/
Wu: 5/10 Last time Wu tried to be a parent for a child he ended up getting self worth issues, running away, dieing trying to prove himself to be strong, and eventually becoming a evil ghost that proceeded to release the Preeminent which destroyed the city of Stixx, though I’m putting him here cuz it wasn’t intentional, unlike Chen with Skylor, and he clearly regrets what he did and wanted to help Morro recover from what happened, the only reason he didn’t was cuz Morro didn’t think he was worthy of redemption and let go of his hand
The end, have an amazing Father’s Day!!!

Room for more(chapter four)
~.~
They had stopped for lunch at a place Zane was sure they’d like, Skylor’s noodles.
Skylor was their long time friend, who also was married to their friend/Social worker Pixel but hey, who was counting?
Parking in front of the restaurant Zane knew he’d make the right choice. Down to the fact that Nya was trying to undo her car seat.
“I see you like this place.” Zane laughed as he unlocked the doors. The moment he opened the door Kai ran out with Nya in his arms, a good thing he had kept the child locks on.
“Momma and Pappa used to take us all the time!” Nya exclaims as Zane picks her up and has Kai hold his hand.
“Did they now?” Zane asks as they walk through the parking lot and inside the building. Once inside Kai tried to run again, but Zane wouldn’t let him.
The family was seated at a booth and were given menus within five minutes. Zane had been there many times, he knew Cole came here sometimes for his lunch break, but this was the first time he’d bring his children. Temporary children? No that makes it sound like they weren’t people.
“Hey there Zane, great to see you again.” The waiter grabbed at Zane’s attention, he realized he was spacing out.
“Oh hey Griffin,I forgot you worked here.” Zane smiled politely and turned to his friend.
Griffin shrugged and fixed his red tinted sunglasses, “It’s mostly part time now, might change to full time till fall.”
“Really? Would Skylor let you do that?” Zane asks as he sets the menu down in front of him.
“She gets what I need to do, that and i’ve been here since she got the place.” Griffin smirked before he pulled out a pad of paper and a pen. “Anyways, the usual right?”
“Kai, Nya? Are you ready?” If his friend didn’t notice the two little kids when he came over he definitely did now.
It was unusual for the fast man to be silent, but he remained like that as the little girl pointed to what she wanted while her brother(?) muttered it.
“Griffin?” Zane asks, as the man was in a way shocked out of his stupor.
“Yes, uh yeah i got it don’t worry.” He wrote down the order before pocketing his pad and pen, “I’ll be right back with your drinks.” Griffin quickly left, most likely to tell his boss/friends in the back.(He’d forget the drinks till last minute.)
“Who was that guy?” Kai asks, watching the man practically run to the back.
“He’s a friend of ours, he’s nice once you get to know him.” Zane stated as he spotted Skylor a table away talking to someone.
“Why was he wearing sunglasses indoors?” Nya asks, scribbling away on the kids menu.
“We don’t know, he’s like that.” Zane explained, taking out some wet wipes from some of the little dishes placed in the middle of the table. “Wipe your hands please.” He handed one to Kai and another to Nya.
“Well if it isn’t one half of a whole mess!” Skylor exclaims as she slaps him on the shoulder.
“I could say the same for you.” Zane deadpans as Skylor unceremoniously drops herself across from him.
“Don’t be like that, you love me.” She grins before her attention is caught by Kai and Nya, both of whom were staring at her with wide eyes. “Who are these little ones?”
“Skylor this is Kai and Nya.” Zane says confidently, it was the first real time he could call them his kids, right? “Cole and I are fostering them, kids this is Skylor.”
Skylor, who looked smitten the moment she laid eyes on the two, gave a motherly smile and waved. “Hi, it’s so nice to meet you.”
Suddenly Nya brightens up, stars in her eyes, “You're the lady from the picture!” she exclaimed.
“Mrs.Borg is your wife!” Kai chimed in, looking pleased that he remembered.
Skylor was shocked for all of two seconds before she started laughing. “I haven’t met them and they already know me!” She threw her head back as she cackled.
“Well we do have quite a few photos from your wedding Skylor.” Zane chuckled as his friend started to calm down.
“Did you guys order already? Where are your drinks?” Skylor had finally calmed down and took a moment to look at their table, there were no plates or glasses, just some unopened chopsticks alongside some forks and spoons.
“Griffin came by, he looked spaced out however.” Zane said as Kai and Nya started to whisper to each other.
“Yeah, he gets like that around winter.” Skylor leaned back into her seat, she started thinking about it. “I think it’s because its almost winter, after that he can’t really function.”
“How come?” Kai asks as Nya leans on him.
“He always has to move, you know? He’s like a shark with bad sunglasses.” Skylor explains, giving Zane a look at the last part.
“Hey dude, sorry for the wait.” Griffin finally came back, a tray expertly balanced in his hand.
“Griffin, we aren’t even packed. Why did it take so long?” It was like Skylor did a complete 180, giving her employee an icy glare.
“Sorry Skylor, one of the waitresses needed me.” Griffin handed the family their drinks, “It wasn’t that long though.”
“It’s long when there’s nobody here, Turner.” Skylor stood, and while she didn’t tower over him she was intimidating and angry.
“I-it won’t happen again, i’m sorry Skylor.” Griffin held the tray close to him, scared that he could lose this job.
In response Skylor’s demeanor changed like she wasn’t mad in the first place. “I’m kidding Griffin. Don’t worry about it.”
Giffin, somewhat relieved, started laughing as well. “Wait really?”
“Of course, hey did you meet Zane’s kids?” Skylor took the tray from Griffin and sat him next to her.
The two looked at Griffin, Nya with wide eyes while Kai glared at him. “Hey little dudes, i bet these two talked about me?” He leaned forward and gave a charming pose.
“Fast and distracted.” The two stated in unison and nodding.
Two of the adults gave an unflattering snort of a laugh as Griffin’s face fell. “Wow, i haven’t met them and already i’ve been tarnished.”
“Serves you right,” Skylor muttered, as she stole some of Zane’s water. “Remember when we met Karlof’s niece? You said i was a witch who bribed people with noodles.”
“I was joking, you’re not a noodle witch.” Griffin smiled, “More like a demon.”
“I will hit you.” Skylor whacked the back of his head, causing his red tinted glasses to fall.
The glasses landed in front of Kai, who looked intrigued by them. “Why do you wear these indoors?” He asks, picking them up.
“That’s a good question, and in all honesty I don’t know.” Griffin laughed as he took them back. “I wore them a lot in college and I never stopped.”
“So you're trying to relive the glory days?” Nya asks sweetly, now holding her cup with two hands.
Griffin let his glasses clatter as Skylor cackled and Zane shook with silent laughter.
“N-Nya, sweetie.” Zane took a deep breath, “Nya you can’t just say things like that.”
“Why?” She asks, placing her cup down.
“Because Griffin still thinks he’s young.” Skylor stated as her friend gave a squawk of indignes.
“Excuse you, i am young.” He stated as his friends rolled their eyes. “What, i am!”
“Griffin you have back pain.” Skylor deadpanned, “You’re 28.”
“Well he does carry his whole team on his back.” Zane remarked, only somewhat sarcastically.
As the adults talked and Nya listened with attention, Kai grew very bored. He was hungry, and Griffin only brought their drinks.
Could he say something though? It was nice of Zane to bring them to the noodle house, but he was talking to his friends. He shouldn’t be bothered.
Zane noticed something was up with Kai however, the way he kept looking near the kitchen, how he looked like he wanted to say something.
Realization hit the man, that’s the whole reason they came here was for lunch.
“Hey Griffin,” Zane interrupted his friend's story, “When can we get our food?”
Skylor gave Griffin a glare as he tensed up. “We’ve been here for ten minutes and you didn’t bring their food? Really?”
“Oh, that’s what I forgot.” Griffin hissed, before standing and grabbing his tray. “I’m so sorry, I’ll be back in a second with your food.” He quickly left to the back.
Skylor sighed, “I’m sorry about the wait guys, I’ll let you get to your meal.”
When she left Griffin came back, balancing a tray filled with hot food. “Alright, here is your order and call me if you need anything.” He set the meals in front of their respective person and left to tend to some other paterons.
As the family dug into their meal Kai had a thought tugging the back of his mind. Zane only said that because he was hungry, right? Most adults do stuff like that because they need it, right?
“Kai? Are you ok?” Zane’s voice jolted Kai out of his thoughts.
He looked up at his foster father, at the genuine concern that stared back.
“I’m fine.” He grumbles, it was a trick. No one really cared, not about him anyways.
“Kai, look at me please.” Zane had put down his utensils and turned his body to face the boy.
Begrudgingly Kai faces him, it didn’t matter.
“What?”
Zane placed a hand on Kai’s shoulder, “Kai, can you please tell me what’s wrong?”
“Nothings wrong.”
“Something’s bothering you, and you can tell me.” He gave the boy such a genuine smile that it couldn’t have been anything but true.
However the boy stayed silent, it was such a bad place to say anything; mostly because the restaurant started to fill with people.
Zane must have had the same thought, and sighed. “We can talk about this when you're ready, take you time.”
He stayed silent for another minute, “Can we talk about at home maybe?”
Giving a small smile Zane nodded, “Of course we can.” And they went back to their meal.
Zane didn’t ask for himself, he asked because he saw Kai. Zane wasn’t like the other adults, maybe that’s a good thing.

Alright, so in the middle of this S12 chaos (because no doubt that there’s more to come tomorrow), I actually saw Tournament of Elements for the first time. And I...think I might be falling on the unpopular side here.
I mean, it’s not terrible at all, in fact I think it’s alright, but I don’t think it has much flavour. Or at least, not the flavour that made Ninjago appeal to me. Let’s just go over points.
-This season has an upside; moreso than any old season thus far, there’s more MVPs amongst the main ninja. Zane is great throughout when we see him, Cole gets a surprisingly focused sub-plot, and Jay pulls his weight in the early part of the season immensely. They gets lots of moments to shine and provide some brevity that I appreciated. -That does mean however that I think Kai and Lloyd suffer for the tone shift. Lloyd especially is so boring this season, a far cry from the first two seasons where he was doing a lot of the legwork. Kai has a flash or two, but otherwise he’s either in serious mode or “annoying fallen for someone on sight” mode. He actually came off rather skeevy at some times too, The idea of the green ninja jealousy is done...well, it manages to conceptualise why this may be a thing after what S1 and S2 established (thoughts resurfacing in a bout of depression), but it feels like the execution is undercooked...which will be a theme. -Nya’s got a pretty strong arc, so that’s appreciated. You can definitely tell this season is setting up for her to be the water ninja, there’s just so many signs, but at least her character was active without that slant to it. That being said, the whole Samurai X thing is kinda abandoned this season, isn’t it? -Speaking of abandoned plots, that love triangle was done with way quicker than I was expecting. You get a couple of episodes where it gets to flare up, resolve it in the third, and then that’s it. Can’t say I hate that being undercooked, it was terrible. I guess the writers came to that conclusion too, because Cole was back to feeling like pre-Codename Arcturus (aka only doing it to spite Jay, not having interest in Nya).  -Also speaking of undercooked...there’s Skylor. I can’t really come to hate her but that’s because she’s just such a bland character. She really is the generic action girl (something levied at Nya a lot even though I’ve never really seen it) and is mostly defined by either her romance to Kai (said romance being as hokey and cliche as it sounded, so the best romance of the season was still Zane and Pixal), or her literal relation to Chen. But I certainly won’t complain about her being manipulative and that because...you know...that was her job prior to her turn.  -This can apply to almost all the Elemental Masters, who get small moments to show their stuff but otherwise are just more characters to add to the pile. The only ones who significantly stood out for me were Karlof, Neuro and Shade, and out of those only Karlof was for entertainment value. He does also demonstrate the power of character writing though; at no point was I distracted by him sharing the same face as Okino, the mannerisms and expression work was just so different between them. -Dareth I’m mixed on. He seems more like dead weight by the end of the season, but he had some good moments at the start, especially his surprising ingenuity with the Kabuki disguise for Nya. -Likewise, even Sensei Garmadon, Wu and Misako feel like they didn’t have much. Sensei Garmadon started strong, but then was kind of reduced to exposition (although he did end on a high note). Meanwhile Wu and Misako felt extraneous even though the final plot point hinges on their relationships. What? -Pythor, in some twist of fate, comes in with a fairly last minute play to be near the top of the character chain. He was back on S1 form, and it was good to see him in good form again. -I liked Chen. With the Overlord acting as such a stoic villain for the most part, it was refreshing having someone as comedic as Chen in the villain helm, while still being plenty vicious and capable of villainy. Clouse I should theoretically like, but again, he was way stoic. -It was also nice to see the cameos -If you like lore, there’s plenty of lore here (there’s even like an episode that’s basically that). It’s interesting to see, but wasn’t great for the flow of the story.  -Pacing really killed this season for me, but for the opposite reason of the other seasons; it ended up going too slow. Like, after episode five, it really started to drag on me.
So overall, S4 for me is a season that has an interesting overall premise, and really sells that at the start, but loses steam before it gets to the end. Not helping is the fact a lot of the characters and many sub-plots feel like they’re underdeveloped, possibly being a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth. This is the real start of the lore building so hopefully that pays off in interesting ways.
I guess I just don’t hold the same values in a series as other fans because I’d rather have the more light-hearted stuff with more serious bits sprinkled in than the rabbit hole the old stuff seems to be diving in to of taking itself way more seriously and caring more about the lore.
That being said, I’d still say it’s better than S3, that season just went up and down and it wasn’t cohesive aside from Zane’s plot. This one feels more thought out, but just isn’t for me.
Next up in terms  of watching the show is Possession, which was very, very heavily foreshadowed at the end of S4. I know it also takes the dive into being more serious, but it’s also a lot lower on the characters in the plot so maybe it’ll have more time to play about with its ideas.
But more immediately next up is more modern Ninjago chaos, and I am way down for that!

Parents in Ninjago, my opinion
I like all the parents in the series. They are very bad parents in their own way (except Ed and Edna, they are perfect), although some are not to blame for being a complete disaster as parents.
Ray and Maya were kidnapped, so they couldn't do much there. They love Kai and Nya, there is nothing more to say.
Misako had the whole thing of his family's destiny, the problem is that abandoning your son without a real reason only makes you look negligent (besides that later she seemed indifferent to Lloyd), we canonically know that she loves him and cares for him and I hold on to it, only they wrote it so badly that it's hard to see it.
Chen is fun to see as a villain, but as a father it is silly. Many paint him as an abuser, but in the series I didn't think he reached those extremes, he just seemed to be an idiot WITH EVERYONE (including his daughter), but there were moments where he seemed to be on Skylor's side and if the writers had wanted him to whether he is an abuser or he did not love Skylor, they could have written it better, so like Misako, he left him in a position of "he is not an abusive father, he is selfish and immature, and that is a bit different." I still remember that scene, in which Clouse accuses Skylor of being a traitor and Chen pleads for her, FOR HER. I swear that the facet of Chen's father is the most mysterious. Although I can assure you that he is not the father of the year, I feel that if he were not a villain they would have given him a happy ending with Skylor (this series usually favors heroes, that's why Lou and Cole are better now).
Lou is by far my favorite, because it seems to me that his situation is even uglier than Chen's, that Chen is cursed for being villain, but at least Skylor felt the courage to face him, so we must assume that he doesn't He was so intimidating to his daughter, maybe he wasn't even someone who raised her with so many pressures. How far did Lou have to go for Cole to run away? And not only that, but Cole kept him cheated, NOT to avoid his father's bad mood, it was NOT TO DISAPPOINT him. How much do you have to bully your child so he doesn't hate you after he runs away? In addition, they took a look at how it was with Cole before (S8) and that only made me more curious about Lou (who is probably the only one so far that I can label someone who was perhaps abusive, as demanding as it was that even Cole broke his leg and Lou didn't seem very sorry for that) and the training and treatment he gave Cole before. LOVE Cole, let's not forget that, and now he does his best to support him, it is much appreciated.
GARMADON is a beautiful being, although the whole problem of the first seasons was not his fault, since the poison had him bent, even with everything and poison the man was an excellent father and is something fantastic.
Now, the new Garmadon does not make me angry, I feel sorry for him, he did not ask to return, they returned him as an empty shell AND EVEN IT SEEMS THAT SOMETHING DOESN'T ALLOW HIM TO KILL LLOYD. He clearly still has something of the Garmadon we know inside, that Garmadon who loves Lloyd madly.
Oh, Dr. Julien, now that Echo appeared, I can assure you that his character acquired a bit more depth, maybe it wasn't the cinnamon roll that people talk so much about, but something is clear, LOVES Zane. Maybe he never considered Echo a son, maybe he saw it as one more invention that he could leave behind since he had recovered his true son, but he obviously cares about Zane and would give a lot for him, or at least what they showed us . The Echo thing remains to be seen (if it is seen, I do not feel the writers with the intention that the character returns).
Last but not least, Cliff Gordon, of whom we know nothing, except that he is Jay's biological father and seems to be aware of his son's existence, never revealed himself as such and still left a Jay's mansion, where we saw a room in honor of his son. It is in my mind the fact that he loves him, but definitely the past of this and the master of lightning is something that makes you want to know, and above all, why did he leave Jay, if he seemed to love him? And I think he's still alive, so something could come from there.
Nothing is known about the master of lightning or Cole's mother, so we'll wait for writers to be interested in talking about it.

Greatings “Father” (Chen Adopts Kai AU)
Happy father’s day! Here’s a bit of a re-write of a fanfic i wrote a while ago. It takes place after the tournament and it’s basically Kai visiting Chen’s grave. Enjoy~
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Greetings, Father.” Kai says, looking down upon the grave of his father. He never really was a father, was he? No, no he wasn’t. A father doesn’t kidnap the child of someone else. A father doesn’t force their child to stay isolated on an island. A father doesn’t let his underling chain his child to a wall, blindfold and gag them, and let them sit there until they broke out himself. A father doesn’t lie to their children.
Kai stared down at the grave, unsure of what to say. He had so much to say. So many questions to ask. Why did you kidnap me and leave Nya behind? Why did you lie to Skylor and I? Were Skyloy and I actually important to you, or were you just using us for our power? What happened to my real parents? He knew he would never get a reply.
Kai stared for a long time. So long it would seem rude if he were doing it to someone alive. His chest felt empty, but his stomach felt like it was being pressed down, like there was something pushing down his organs. Taking a deep breath, he started talking.
“You-” Kai starts to say, but he immeditely shuts his mouth. What was he so afraid of? That he’ll be punished again? Both Chen and Clouse were dead. No one can tell him what to do anymore. There’s no reason to be afraid. Why was he?
His thoughts instantly went to Nya and Skylor, not thinking of himself at all.
“You’re a sick fuck.” He says quickly, before he could stop himself. “Did you enjoy it? Did you enjoy making Skylor and Nya suffer? Did you enjoy lying to Skyloy, making her think that the “outside world” was dangerous, making her feel trapped and alone? Did you like it when you left Nya, a three year old, to fend for herself?!”
His voice got louder with every word until he started yelling. He couldn’t hold himself back anymore. It felt...good. Really good.
“Did you enjoy chaining me up in a cell and keeping me there, you sadistic fuck?!” He pants, then swallows. It felt more like he was yelling at Clouse rather than Chen, but either way, it felt better than anything he had ever felt before.
“I was a child! We were all children! Why did you pull me into your godforsaken plans? Why did you kidnap me and leave Nya behind? Why did you hate Skylor? Why? Why? Why?!”
He was screaming now. Hot tears streamed down his face. He didn’t care. He catches his breath, and continues screaming. Fire engulfed the grave. Everything around him burned as flames consumed all the plants, the swords, and the grave itself. He sat there, screaming and sobbing in a circle of fire.
By the time he had calmed himself down enough to form words, everything had turned to ashes. The only thing that remained was the headstone, sitting dead in the center of the garden. Kai breathed heavily, swallowed and wiped his eyes.
“I hope you’re burning in hell where you belong.”
With that, Kai left, not bothering to say goodbye.

Am I Still The Same? (Techno/Polyninja fic)
(This is for Valentine’s Prompts 8/2: First Ship)(This is my first real try at something ship related, I hope it’s decent)(This is really Zane and Jay centric but Polyninja if you squint)(It’s about 9:20 as I’m posting this and asked my cousin to proofread and she hasn’t said yes or no so...have this copypasted from Docs disaster)(And just saying again, I don’t normally write shippy things but I tried my best)
The ninja were mostly by themselves on the bounty tonight. Nya was out with Skylor, who needed as much help as she could keep an eye on the noodle house after something like this happened, Lloyd was out patrolling since he managed to get out pretty scratch free and “Someone needed to make sure everything was alright”, while Wu was dealing with the bits of conferencing and other such things. While the four had settled themselves in the living room to try and relax and not think about what had gone down just earlier that day.
The mission went horribly. Maybe he didn’t push himself far enough, maybe something happened and he didn’t care enough. But his teammates, the people he loved and cared about, were hurt. Hurt in a way that he could have stopped. He’s durable, he could have withstood an explosion but he didn’t move fast enough.
And the worst damage is that Cole had a gash across his stomach. It almost made him sick. They looked terrible. He bandaged and stitched them up as best he could, ignoring Jay’s pestering over his own knicks and scratches, they didn’t mean anything.
Part of him said that he should be happy, they’re alive. That no one died.
So why did it feel so terrible? It was a question repeating through his mind throughout the whole process of bandaging and stitching the others up. They were alive. So why did he feel like this?
He got up quickly and excused himself, walking off as calmly as he could. After all, they knew he had a habit of isolating himself on days like these. Though the worried glances each of his boyfriends gave him as he left didn’t escape him while he walked to the bathroom, one place no one bothers anyone even if the said person doesn’t need to use it. Carefully he took the shirt of his gi off and looked over the knicks and indents that had gathered over his torso and arms. Some were older and more worn, others were sharp and jagged. The only thing that said they were newer than a few weeks.
He starred in the mirror, ey-, no, eyelights flicking over the titanium plating, knicks and scratches and all the damage that existed physically. He couldn’t understand this feeling he got looking at it, nor the reason he felt despair and panic every time he looked back at old memories of the body he father had built him. It hurt to think about it, it hurt to think about all of this.
Every single memory felt wrong in this body. His old body couldn’t do things he does now and his new body can’t do some of the things his old one can. Every one of his sense is number, he doesn’t dream anymore when he sleeps, he only shuts down, and every once in a while he gets reminded of just how different he really is. A feeling numbs to much, a virus hits his system, or he just needs an update because he’s glitchy. He never had to do this all in his old body, his old body made him feel normal, human. His old body was Zane. His old body was Zane, the Zane everyone loved and cared about.
He gripped at his head, leaning against the bathroom wall and sliding down. He wasn’t Zane. The thought raced through his head again and again. Fans whirring and stuttering, the feeling of panic and despair setting back in as he squeezed his eyes shut and tried to calm himself. But the thought, this voice, kept repeating over and over. You aren’t Zane. You’re just a replacement built because no one could deal with the guilt.
You aren’t Zane
You aren’t Zane
You will never be Z-
Then there was a knock on the door.
“Zane?”
Honestly, Jay’s been worried for weeks since they got back from Chen’s island. Aside from the whole of comforting Lloyd, he’s been worried about Zane. Zane’s been more cut off since they got back, more protective. Like he’s trying to prove something to himself and to everyone.
He’s gotten a lot more sensitive about things to. Whenever Kai would snap at him during training to try and rile him up, normal Kai things, he just left. He’s been sleeping away from them too. That’s what really worried Jay. The cold distance Zane seemed to be creating between them all. And suffice to say, he’s had enough of it.
He stared down the bathroom door, knocking on it, “Zane?”
No response.
“Zane, why do you keep doing this? Why do you keep locking yourself in here? Is something wrong?”
Still nothing, he was about ready to get back to the others. Get Kai or Cole to kick it open. Or maybe get some tools t-
Then it opened.
“Yes, Jay? I’m fine. There isn’t any problem.” He was lying through his teeth. He barely looked composed with a plastered smiled and ruffled hair. Zane was lying to him.
“Zane...What’s wrong? I know something's not right. I mean, is something up with your systemordoIneedtorepairsomethingIm-”
“Jay.”
Jay paused, looking at the nindroid, “Hm? What it is?”
“The problem isn’t mechanical it’s…” He paused, trying to think through every sentence, Every possibility that the next words wouldn’t end with the final proclamation, that they never thought of them as the Zane that used to be, that would end on a good note. “...I...Do you even seem me as the same person who sacrificed himself to the Overlord? And please, be honest to me.”
There was a pause, a quizzical look crossing over Jay’s face like he had told him something with a clear answer. Maybe he was right and they really di-
“Of Course we do! You’re still our Zane, a little bit shiny and a little more oiling needed, but you’re still Zane!”
That made him pause, that sure look on Jay’s face, that smile. That certainty. He felt relieved. Jay didn’t think he was someone else. Maybe the others didn’t either. He couldn’t stop himself from hugging Jay close at that. “Thank you, Jay…”
Jay didn’t think it would mean much. But when Zane hugged him, it really all came together. “Hey…” He hugged back, nuzzling into Zane’s neck, “You know something like this wouldn’t stop us caring. We love you, Zane, I love you, nothing’s gonna stop that.”
Zane’s breath hitched, fans sputtering for a moment at that. It’d been a while since he heard it, or maybe he just wasn’t listening. But right here, right now, it was finally coming together. They loved him, his team, Lloyd, Wu, Nya. The all cared.
Jay pulled back first, tugging Zane back towards the others. “Come on, I know Cole and Kai definitely want you around. You’re our boyfriend, our awesome, metal, boyfriend!” He was pulling a bit harder, trying to get the almost stock still Nindroid to follow him back to the rest of their boyfriends.
Then he heard Zane chuckle.
Honestly, the speed that Jay turned back around he should have gotten whiplash. And Zane was chuckling, smiling and chuckling. He sounded so happy, and then he stopped and smiled at Jay.
“I’d like to do that,” he said, beginning to walk back to the others with Jay walking ahead. He smiled and let out a small laugh, it was nice to have Zane happy again. See that he wasn’t being so down. Knowing that whenever this might happen again, he knows how to help him.
By the time they got back to the others, Kai and Cole were in an ‘Injury-Safe’ cuddle pile. Only looking up as the two re-entered the room. “Got room for two more there?” And Jay was almost giddy as the two shifted and smiled as he and Zane got in to join the pile. It’d been a while since they all got together like this. All four of them, cuddled up on the couch while trying to avoid nudging someone’s injuries wrong. It was nice. It was comforting. It was loving. And Zane felt that for the first time since he got back, it really settled in on Zane just how much they loved him.

So this has been stirring around in my head for a few days but the more I think about it the more I want to talk about it. So buckle in for a probably lengthy post about Kai, Season 4, and the relation between the two.
Now I love season 4, it’s one of my personal favorites. For what it is the pacing works really well. You have a number of iconic scenes. The elemental masters are a delight, the villain is hilarious (although very creepy... why the sleeveless uniforms Chen? Huh? You scalie)
So post catching up on ninjago while my brain starved for new content I started doing some reading. Low and behold my surprise when I’m glancing over season 4 while munching on chocolate to find out Kai was the focus character of season 4.
Bitch where ????
Again, I love season 4 for what it was, but like ??
Look if I’m being deadass honest Kai hasn’t gotten any actual character development since season 1.
Yeah, season 1.
Season 4 was meant to be a focus season but for all the struggle we see initially we get none of that later on. We aren’t even given a clear source on it.
Season 7 was also meant to focus on him and Nya but among all the other messes in that season ? Nothing happened
In order for a character to develop they not only need to face a situation that forces them to change but those changes have to actually like, stick.
Kai’s struggle to deal with the concept that his parents might not have been the people he looked up to went null and void after he found them. Him and Nya developing a stronger relationship falls short because they never had anything threatening their relationship in the first place.
But anyway we aren’t here to talk about that.
So, as much as I love season 4, let’s talk about ways it could have been even better.
Lets start where it starts, episode 1, which for all I love about it there was always one thing that irked me.
Why do they all hate each other so much?
Like obviously Lloyd doesn’t, he seems to still be in frequent communication with everyone. And Cole and Jay kind of make sense with the whole thing with Nya from the last season but like, WOW, there is some venom going on here. They look so goddamn angry to see each other at that noodle house. Even Kai, despite the fact he ? seemingly has no reason to be fighting with them so much.
So you open the same, Lloyd testing Borg’s security, the inventor wondering why the other ninja weren’t there.
And you cut to Jay, running his show. To Lloyd arguing with him and trying to convince him to come back. And maybe Jay considers it for a moment but then you have, hear me out
a minor flashback
not much, just something. I feel like with all the grief that came with losing Zane it’s not stretch that these boys blew up at each other, hey maybe even Nya. Do any of them besides Kai still talk to her?? Either way that a huge argument was the start of them going their separate ways. You wouldn’t need to show the argument, just maybe a couple of insults that were thrown Jay’s way.
So he says no, he refuses, Lloyd insists Jay will know where to find him and leaves.
You get the similar deal with Cole and Kai. Both of them remembering different parts of the argument and adamantly refusing to go back.
And heeeey since Kai is, idk, our focus character, let’s focus a little more on why he’s so fucked up. Because while the show might not show it as much I’m fairly certain it’s because he’s mad at himself.
Kai puts a lot of emphasis on his ability to protect others. Reaching his true potential rested on him realizing his duty wasn’t to protect the world but to protect his friends, and he failed. Zane is dead. Kai couldn’t do anything because in the end he wasn’t strong enough.
This is important later on.
Hell, draw that shit out for when Kai goes to Zane’s statue. Make me cry fuckers.
You cut to short scenes of all of them getting the pamphlet for the tournament, including the information that they have Zane.
So NOW they all go and find Lloyd, at Garmadon’s monastery. Meeting in secret as they try and figure out if it’s real, and who is this Chen person? Not the person in charge of that noodle house surely. (Because, honestly, why would that be their place to meet I know Chen didn’t exist until this season but we’ve never heard of this noodle house WHY IS THAT THEIR GO TO PLACE WE’VE NEVER SEEN THEM HANG OUT THERE whatever) So now they go, they find some minions, ask some questions, but in the end the only way they can figure out is to go themselves.
They get to the ship. Garmadon follows. But instead of an easy time introducing all the elements the ninjas immediately split, going to their own corners. Because, oh yeah, weren’t they fighting? Didn’t they mainly agree to go to the island together to find Zane?
Heck on you for dropping that conflict until it was convenient again mmmm
SO off in his own corner, Kai meets Skylor. And yes he’s crushing but here’s another concept, they get along really well. She’s cryptic but easy to talk to. They crack some jokes, and Kai’s just glad he might have a friend outside of Lloyd in this after all.
Blah blah, fight with Karlof, another moment where he’s trying to buff up his strength.
I say he should bond more with Skylor from the get go for a handful of reasons
1) Kai is fiercely loyal and protective, he won’t stray from his mission but struggles between trusting the friends he’s known for ages but is currently pissed off at vs. someone he barely knows but gets along with.
2) It makes Skylor’s betrayal that much more devastating but also
3) Makes his decision to join Chen that much more convincing.
Like OBVIOUSLY Kai had a plan up his sleeve originally, but it was too obvious, so obvious ur sitting here like “Is Chen really falling for this no... can’t be.......”
So, concept, Chen asks because he knows Kai is close to Skylor. He asks because he promises if Kai helps him he’ll finally lead him to Zane.
And Kai takes it because he thinks it might be the only way to help Zane and Cole, because their teamwork is still frayed and Cole failed to inform the others he was planning that huge breakout.
You build it up so it seems like Kai is violently determined to help Zane, to make up for the fact he failed back then. There’s actually suspense when Chen steals the rest of the elements. Kai’s spoken about his doubts with Skylor, sure, but there’s still so much at stake.
But, SURPRISE.
And hey, remember how Kai’s conflict, at it’s core, is him struggling with the fact he wasn’t strong enough to protect his friend? Now it also makes more sense for him to cling to that staff, for him to go off on a rant about how he should have been the green ninja.
Additionally I hate how? Lost he gets in the narrative later on. Like I know we just lost Garmadon and GOD IT SUCKS but you could have easily had a scene with Lloyd and Kai. You could have easily had a short scene of Kai beating himself up because, once again, he didn’t do enough. He didn’t stop Chen early on. If he had, maybe Garmadon would still be around. Idk, I can’t think of details but you could probably do a lot with both Kai and Lloyd coming to terms with the fact that they both feel weak because they both feel like neither of them did enough. And wouldn’t that be a good lead in to season 5 with Lloyd getting possessed.
Hey, remember how Kai was awful at roller skating? More build up.
Hey, remember that fight with Ash? More build up.
AN D? Fuck bro. As much as I love Lloyd, Kai should have been the one to rally all the elemental masters together after surprising Chen, when they all had to break off the island. I wanted a scene where all these boys get past their in-fighting, not just Cole and Jay, which was great but WHY WAS KAI SO FUCKING MAD AT THEM GOD WHATEVER. My point, Kai, who’s felt so weak for this whole season, rallying everyone and making them believe in their own strength would make me fucking cry.
Anyway I’ll get off my soap box now. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk

Ninjago High School AU
This is just the stuff I currently have planned for the characters. Some are more well-developed (like Lloyd) than others (like Wu). Also, yes, there are still Elemental Powers in this AU.
Lloyd Garmadon
Certified Sass Master™
Will listen to any music
His regular playlist quite literally ranges from stuff like Anthrax and Pantera to Ke$ha and Katy Perry.
Listens to upbeat, repetitive music when he’s upset or stressed and he can’t focus.
dubstep/techno mostly
Artsy as all get-out
All his elective classes are art
Sculptures
Probably friends with Morro
Will fight you
If he loses he’ll cry
If you lose, you’ll cry
And he will laugh
Plays piano!
Rebellious phase has hit him hard
@ Wu: “YOU’RE NOT MY REAL DAD DON’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO”
Gets bored easily
Fidget cubes and doodles out the wazoo during math class
Seriously all of his homework has a doodle of some kind on it
Asexual aromantic
Platonic crushes on all the other ninja tho
Especially Kai and Zane
Golden Power
After discovering it, it tends to flair a little when he’s angry. It trails behind all of his motions and let’s be honest here it tends to sparkle. So he kinda looks like a glowy, full sized angry Tinkerbell.
Lord Garmadon
lol where?
there’s no Lord Garmadad here
not that Lloyd knows of
he could be Garmadead for all Lloyd knows
Literally a raging psychopath with severe DID
other Identity is Sensei Garmadon
he’s the Garmadad we all know and love
Been hiding out in a secret lair for 10 years
Sensei Garmadon always tries to go back home when he’s awake but he can’t remember how to get there
Wants to take over the world
Actually still loves Misako and doesn’t want her hurt and that’s why he left
Deadbeat Dad™
Except for Sensei Garmadon
He is Best Dad™
He’s fine with Lloyd’s sexual/romantic interests but he’s distressed by the thought of Lloyd never having an heir.
Sensei Wu
Cryptic™
Tries to be a father figure to Lloyd but Lloyd aint havin’ that shit
“YOU’RE STILL NOT MY REAL DAD” “Lloyd pls”
Definitely in love with Misako
Treats the Ninja like his children
Morro is his biggest regret
Reason why is in Morro’s part.
Morro
The Rage Child™
He’s so heckin’ angry
Resents Wu
Looks up to Lord Garmadon
Definitely plays with Ouija boards
Might be a demon?
Probably a virgin
R e b e l l i o n
“YOU SEE THIS GREEN STREAK WU?! YOU SEE IT?! THIS GREEN STREAK SAYS “FUCK YOU”!”
Likes storms
Literally the most power-crazy teenager in Ninjago and ended up literally fighting Wu when he found out his destiny was essentially to just be a minor antagonist in everyone’s lives rather than be super powerful like he wanted to be.
Sexually and romantically confused
Misako Garmadon
Just wants what’s best for her child.
Loves both of the brothers very much
Married to Garmadon but when he didn’t come back in like 3 years she started ‘dating’ Wu
Knows Lloyd doesn’t want to acknowledge Wu as a father figure and she’s somewhat exasperated
“Lloyd I’ve been dating him since you were 9 and you never had a problem with him before.”
“He wasn’t actually trying to be my dad before, mom.”
Supportive of her son’s interests
She literally bought him all the art supplies he could ever possibly want.
He even has his own pottery wheel and a kiln.
She’s also supportive of his sexual/romantic interests despite being somewhat disappointed that she’ll never have grandkids.
Kai Smith
If you tell him not to do the thing he will do the thing to spite you
Actually a sweetheart
Kind of a narcissist but mostly because no one else gives him that kind of attention
Only listens to rock music unless he has no choice
He can stand to listen to most of the stuff Lloyd listens to but he doesn’t really like a lot of it.
Favorite band is Three Days Grace
Secretly likes Sleeping With Sirens
Likes watching Lloyd paint
Lets Lloyd paint on his arms and face when they’re in a tough situation and Lloyd needs to distract himself.
Lloyd’s started using Kai’s left arm as a canvas for floral designs and his right arm as a canvas for flames.
He couldn’t hold still the first few times it happened because it tickled but now he’s mostly numb to the feeling of paintbrushes against his skin.
Bisexual demiromantic.
Kind of likes Lloyd (like that) but respects that Lloyd isn’t romantically or sexually interested at all and does his best not to push his emotions on Lloyd.
Also kind of likes Jay just a little bit but respects that Nya likes him and wants his sister to be happy.
If I put Skylor in this AU he’ll like her too.
Hoodies. Just... Hoodies.
He likes being warm.
Once he discovers his Elemental Powers he tends to accidentally light things on fire when he gets agitated.
Cole Brookstone
The Dancing Queen™
Amazing singer
Protective of all his friends.
He is the mother hen. It is him.
Vindictive boy if you hurt his friends.
Sexually confused but has crushes on pretty much everyone he knows no matter what gender
He thinks Kai is mildly attractive and might date him
“Lloyd’s cute I’d date him and probably marry the fuck out of him if he wasn’t aro.”
“Jay’s pretty cute too but I think Nya likes him and I know he likes Nya and I’m not gonna be a homewrecker.”
Would probably date Zane
After discovering his Elemental Power he takes an interest in physical combat.
Gay 4 Nature™
Zane Julien
A legit angel
Not a robot but he’s still a little... Off.
Super smart
Anxiety™
Secretly loves memes and makes “Get in the bag Nebby” jokes with Lloyd 24/7
Most of the memes he likes are the old fashioned cat memes
But he has a tendency to do the “mmm whatcha saaayyyyy” thing
Has a fidget cube that he likes to take apart and put back together
Shop classes
Ace and demiromantic
Platonic crush on Lloyd
Would probably date Cole or Kai if given the chance or if he could get over his anxiety.
Might date Nya
He always knew about his powers and he’s constantly cold to the touch
Jay Walker
Anxiety™: The Sequel
Constantly screaming on the inside
Straight as a line
Head/heels for Nya
Best friends with Zane and Cole
Also does the “mmm whatcha saaayyyy” thing
The Inventor™
Once he finds out about his powers he uses them to help his inventions succeed.
Will accidentally shock you if he’s stressed
Nya Smith
BAMF
Can kick your ass
WILL kick your ass
Protective
Bicurious
Definitely likes Jay though
Thinks her powers are dumb
Literally makes it rain when she’s upset
She’s sad and so are the clouds
Okay that’s all I’ve got for now.

Happy Glacier week everybody! Thank you so much for organizing this @impulsivekiddo and @mariakoshi! I will be doing all art after this but I was writing this anyway and thought it would be perfect.
A Day Off
05/07/17 Glacier week first prompt (firsts/meeting)
After all the craziness that had happened recently, the ninja decided they needed a break, and though evil never rests, the ninja thought they could at least have a game night.
“So what’ll it be ladies and gents? Monopoly? Spit tournament? Chess?” Jay asked, looking around the room. As his eyes layed on his titanium friend Jay quickly amended, “Er, actually maybe NOT chess"  as their scattered laughter died down Nya spoke up,
” how about we get something to eat first? Then we can decide on what to play with a full stomach.“
“Actually”, Zane began “I recently did an inventory on our pantry, and while there are some ingredients, there isn’t much I can use to make a substantial meal with, and a grocery trip is imminent.”
“Ok, noodles it is!” piped Kai cheerily. “You just want to see your new girlfriend” Lloyd teased. “She’s not my girlfriend!” Kai insisted, stamping his foot, he quickly muttered half to himself “not yet anyway…”
***
As Kai, Cole, Jay, Zane, Nya, Wu, Misako, and Lloyd all made their way down to the ‘Chen’s Noodle House’ where Skylor worked, laughing and talking, Zane saw a shadow move from the corner of his eye into an alleyway.  Zane suddenly stopped and put his hand up for quiet, and the talking ceased. The others got into their ready stances, and Pixal spoke to Zane so only he could hear, “chances of hostile opponent, 78.3 percent. This isn’t exactly the safest are to be in at precisely 9:55 at night.“
Zane nodded at the others, who donned their masks, and snuck into the shadows. Flashes of black moved in and out of the alley way, slipping in and out of the ninjas vision. Like a snake. As they reached a dead end, they all quickly realized was only one hiding place left for their culprit to go. Cole slowly moved toward the  refrigerator box, while thinking to himself if anyone had the decency to recycle anymore, or even put the garbage where it belonged, instead of an alleyway. As he lifted the lid, he heard a building hiss, and something black leaped out at him and clawed his face!
"Awww, how cute,” Nya exclaimed, “it’s just a cat!” While Zane helped pry the black and white alley cat off Cole, he commented “I’m not sure how ‘cute’ Cole thinks this cat is right now, but I’m pretty sure she is low on his list for the time being"
"Darn right it’s low on my list! That thing just attacked me for no good reason!” Cole said in a huff.
“That’s not entirely true Cole, Pixal just did a scan, though I’m not sure it was needed to tell that the feline is pregnant. She was just protecting herself, and is very moody at this stage. And to be fair we were sneaking around.” As Zane finished his synopsis, he started to stroke the cat which slowly calmed down. “Pixal also told me that this cat has no diseases but has not checked for fleas. So unless you are made of metal, or do night mind a bit of itching, I suggest your all refrain from petting her quite yet.” As the ninja moved slightly more away from Zane and the cat Nya suggested they take her with them and go to a rescue center or clinic after they all ate.
***
The bell ringed as the door to ‘Chen’s Noodle House’ opened  and a friendly face greeted them all. “Hey guys! Long time no see, what to busy saving the world to visit?” Skylor teased. “so what can I get you all?” She went down the line and everyone ordered, and when she got to Zane, she saw the expecting cat asleep in his arms. “ Awww, what a cutie! But why would you bring your cat with you to a restaurant Zane?"  Skylor asked.   "Oh, she’s not mine, we followed her into a nearby alley thinking she was a person sneaking around at night. We were going to take her to a clinic or rescue center after we all ate”
“heh, you guys are real softies aren’t you? Even on your night off you all still are out doing the right thing. Hey, you know I could take her there for you if you want. I know it’s not often you guys get a night off and you should spend all your time wisely. Besides, I’ve been looking for a roommate, maybe I might keep her or one of her kittens.” As Skylor finished speaking she headed into the kitchen to give the orders to the chef, the only other staff at that point of night.
“That’s so sweet of you Skylor, thanks so much” Nya exclaimed, “but I suggest your wrap her in a towel, or carry her in a crate or something, Zane scanned her for diseases before, but she may have fleas and is pretty moody as Cole knows”
“is that what happened to your face?”
****
As everyone laughed and ate their food Skylor agreed to come over to hang out after she dropped of the cat at a shelter and play some games with them. The idea was from Kai (of course), and as they all finished up their meal, Zane helped skylor wrap the cat in an old towel, and put her in a crate to transport the cat in- which had been dubbed Oreo- after Skylor closed up for the night. By the time Skylor got to the ninja’s place, they had already played some board games, checkers (not chess, though Jay lost anyway), and an arm wrestling contest (Nya almost beat Cole in the last round, but he wasn’t the ninja of earth for nothing)
“So what do you want to play?” Kai asked Skylor as she set her things down. “How about…. Spin the bottle!” As cheers went around the room (especially from Kai and Jay),  Cole explained the game to Zane who, while a little uncomfortable, agreed to play. Pixal however, decided to go elsewhere on the ship’s data until the game was over.
Nya went first, and spun the bottle hard. “Come on, come on” Jay chanted, hoping to be landed on, and get a smooch from his girlfriend. But it landed on….. her brother! As everyone laughed at Jay getting huffy, Nya gave her brother a quick kiss on the cheek. Kai spun next, and hoping for an excuse to kiss Skylor, he crossed is finger as and closed his eyes. Luckily for him, it DID land on Skylor.
“ok hot stuff close your eyes and pucker up” as Kai did what he was asked, Skylor gave him a long, slow, kiss on the lips.
“wOW” Kai exclaimed in a daze. Skylor spun and landed on Cole
After she pecked his cheek, Cole spun, around and around the bottle went. And landed right. On. Zane.Cole blushed furiously.
“So um, how exactly do I proceed with this?” Zane asked embarrassedly.
“Wait, you mean you’ve never kissed anyone before?” Cole asked. Zane shook his head.
Cole was becoming increasingly nervous that he was about to be Zane’s first kiss, but started to explain. “Um OK, uh, you kinda like, purse your lips. And then you just touch them to the other persons lips. But you don’t have to do it like that you can just kiss me on the cheek-mffff!!!” Cole was cut if as Zane gently kissed Cole straight on the mouth. And cole wrapped his arms around Zane’s head in reply. When the two finally broke apart, Cole asked,
“you sure you never kissed anyone before?”

So it’s a bank holiday in the UK, especially for VE Day, where there are some people having street parties and not practicing social distancing while they’re at it. Plonkers. Anyway, with a whole day off more, what better time to look at Hunted.
One thing that didn’t cross my mind was that this is actually the last full season of old Ninjago I need to watch. Like, the next one is just four episodes, and then I’ve caught up to Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjutsu. On the one hand, I can’t believe I’ve managed to get through 94 full episodes, and a pilot, and a special. With my usual attention span on shows, it has been difficult at times, but what a mountain to climb.
On the other hand, what a bum note to to end the full seasons on. After like three great seasons, a season with good ideas that got throttled in areas and a special that was curtailed for reasons outside of its control, Hunted ranges from eh to kinda bad throughout. Let’s get into it.
-I’m actually going to start with the plot first, not the characters, because I think this is so big a factor it dominates everything else. The series is a sort of sequel...second half...continuation thing of Sons of Garmadon. In theory having stories told over two seasons means that you can make a more elaborate plot with bigger stakes and that. In here, it means that all the fun that I enjoy out of the series is reserved for the first half, while the second half by default has a more dour tone. In addition, the two plots they try to balance aren’t too great, as they both feel like they’re going too slow and crawling until like the sixth or seventh episode of the season, and the constant switching just breaks the pace even more. By the time we do get to the seventh episode it gets more cohesive, but even that has issues, which I’ll get to later.  -Okay, so onto the actual characters. Lloyd is pretty down this season, but above all others this is pretty understandable given his circumstances. At the very least he gets time to bond with Nya properly, and has some good material with other side characters. Plus his ending is genuinely cathartic, even if a little vague on what actually triggered getting his powers back.  -Nya manages to fit the tone while still being able to have time to shine and act as the backbone of the resistance. She doesn’t get the credit she deserves at the end, really, which is a shame because for me she was the best ninja this season. Pixal on the other hand is kinda left at the wayside this season, with one moment exactly to show her willingness to face terrible odds to try and fight back the Oni Mech. After getting to become her own character again last season, that’s a shame. -The other four, stuck in the First Realm...oof. Wasn’t really feeling them this season for the most part. Their antics weren’t really that interesting. Jay has to a do a lot of the heavy lifting for entertainment early on, but even he’s not enough to prevent the tedium setting in. Cole also has some moments with Wu, but they didn’t feel as good as they did in Sons of Garmadon. Kai’s moment with the dragon came out of nowhere, and Zane literally got nothing. Things improved a bit with Weakest Link, but by that point the plot was pivoting towards Wu.  -Speaking of, Wu was probably the best part of that side of the story (Wu being the best of anything, never thought I’d say that). Not just because he was the focus for it, he was good for some nice zingers, and actual character development (even if I was completely confused why they chose to restore his memories the way they did). He got to have his resolution outside of the final battle, which allowed it to have the time it needed to handle it well.  -When I’ve been hearing about Faith, I was led to believe that Faith was this demure person who obviously kicked butt but was also sweet and nice. Nobody told me Faith was a badass one-woman powerhouse who rocked. She reminds me of this canal trip I had in Birmingham. There was this conventional, scripted canal tour that was obviously the main one, but on this more run-down and bare bones canal boat was this badass Polish boatmaster who knew all about the dark side of Birmingham’s development history and wasn’t afraid to impart all her knowledge, no matter how sordid, onto its passengers. She was awesome, and so is Faith. -Dareth got a surprisingly good showing out of all this, arguably being the strongest demonstration of his character in the entire series (while he is oafish, clumsy and envious of having powers, he’s also steadfastly loyal, capable of doing some ass-kicking himself and absolutely will not sell the ninja down the river for anything). I think my final decision on Dareth is that while he can have his unfortunately skeevy moments, on the whole he’s a good lad. I like him.  -Mistake went from being a foot note to being a complete BAMF this season. If you’re going to kill a character off, this is how you do it; allow them to show off what made them enjoyable before, get some real smooth moves in that dupe even the greatest of threats then have them go down fighting. -The Elemental Masters were once again wasted to be honest, mostly serving as fodder to be captured once their job was done in Radio Free Ninjago and mostly there to get Skylor into the story. She still didn’t have much of a personality unfortunately, mostly having to act as the action girl because of circumstances, but she did get some good moments with Lloyd and Nya, and there was a pretty creative way of using her powers. This being said, if you told me Kai and Skylor had amicably ended their relationship after season four, and they were just more affectionate at the end of this season because they’d seen their exes go through hell, I would believe you. Seriously, Kailor was thrown to the wayside once it served its purpose in Tournament of Elements, they don’t get any time to develop it. Which is really bad when they miss a beat that would have made it easy to do so in season 7. And this is coming from someone who is fine with Jaya and Pixane’s handling in the show (bar a couple of seasons dropping the ball). It’s somehow worse than I thought. -Speaking of worse, the villains in this season are so bad. The Iron Baron has nothing interesting going for him (which is a waste, at least his VA came back for SotFS), their plot was basically the Sky Pirates but in its most basic form (seriously, the way the rest of the Dragon Hunters turned was very whiplash-inducing) and aside from Faith and Chew Toy (who was actually amusing in the Dragon Pit) there’s not anyone worth remembering. -And somehow, the Sons of Garmadon are worse. They were great in the previous season, but here they end up so degraded (especially Killow and Ultra-Violet, who have nothing to do here). Even Harumi, the main baddie of the last season, is jobbing pretty hard for half the season. She gets a couple of little moments after this, but then she gets unexpectedly and unceremoniously killed off at the end of Saving Faith. I know, poetic irony that she gets killed the same way her parents did, but it would have been more satisfying if she had more material. -As I alluded to before, the pacing of the first six episodes is pretty dang slow, thanks partly due to its format, but partly due to how repetitive the beats are while it feels they’re introducing little bits and biding their time for the plot to kick in fully.
So, overall, not impressed with Hunted at all. It’s a shame because, like I said, it killed the good momentum I had with the previous seasons going all the way back to Possession. I’d honestly say that aside from Rebooted, this is my least favourite season. At least Tournament of Elements had more good ideas and concepts in place before the second half just killed my investment.
Next time though, I get to the real finale of this watchback. Lloyd was warned of dark forces invading Ninjago, and we get to see the result of that in the final “season” WilFilm ever made, March of the Oni.

Season 4
This season did kai absolute wonders. Everyone was great in this season. Kai was clumsy and a little selfish but in a more human and enjoyable way, not to mention he stopped being an asshole for once and showed signs of regret whenever he did something wrong. Chen was a great villain, while I think he a little to overrated in the fandom he was enjoyable, smart, funny, and overly just a joy to watch. Cole was absolutely adorable and I loved him. ZANES BACK YESS!!! Not to mention Zane was just great overall. Lloyd finally had some personality outside of “the chosen one” and seemed to do a great job actually being a leader. Sensei garmadon is best dad and I’m willing to jump in front of a train for him all the way. The elemental masters weren’t *to* annoying. The form chick, the shade, and skylor weren’t my cup of tea. Nya is finally over that love triangle and is doing something helpful without rubbing in our faces she has tits. And jay is.... jay. I love the concepts the season runs through and how they manage to pull them off really well. The only down side was that kailor is kind of weak let’s be real. I already mentioned this in other posts but it’s way to one sided and to be real skylor just seems a bit to easy to convince to change sides. Also kai being a simp makes sense but wasn’t very enjoyable to watch.
My favorite character has to be kai. I know I know he’s a complete asshole at times, but season 4 and 5 imo do the best at presenting kai. Kai to me seems to be the most human pit of the entire gang. Let me ask you this, if you were a ninja in a world of magical dragons and powers and you can control an elemental, wouldn’t you sometimes choose the bad option simply because of impulse or because more power seems helpful? The rest of the ninja are great but I hardly see them choose the “bad” option. Kai however sometimes does choose the bad option, or makes a mistake, or just does something stupid. I really like how he’s the only one to not be so goody two shoes. But he’s not exactly a evil character either. Even though he’s greedy and kinda selfish, his heart is in the right place and he will fight till there isn’t a drop of blood left in his body to protect his friends and family. Even through he sometimes messes up, he tries to the right thing. He does regret it when he does something wrong and hell sometimes when he does something right. And to me that makes him the most human out of everyone. But I understand why people hate him. Hell in season 1 he was a complete asshole and I didn’t really enjoy his character at all. Expect for his true potential episode. I used to hate that episode a lot, but once while I was watching it I had a discord friend remind me that we enjoy kais character because he tries the right thing, and sometimes he’s selfish and greedy for the right reasons. Also the lesson of him basically being told that “you need to sit the fuck down this ain’t about you anymore” is a nice one.
Tell me your favorite season and character of ninjago and why cuz I can’t decide on anything,I’m bored as hecc, and I’m curious :|
I can’t even choose a favorite color, how do you expect me to choose a favorite character and season?
