More rambles about the process and design under the cut!

I feel like his paintwork wasn't exactly as clean as the first head, because the 3D printer I have now uses different material, and no matter how much I tried to sand it down it still had those weird bumps in the middle of the face... Also my hands tremble really badly, so working on small details wasn't an easy job.

Yes, he looks bald because I need to wait for the varnish before I can add his rays and eyebrows XD (his eyebrows are gonna be removable so I can pose them.) He's also gonna get eyelids and another set of teeth to swap his expressions for photos.

I'm only working on Sunny right now, because I didn't have enough materials (and money) to build Moony at the same time. He'll be joining his other half by the summer though!

Some changes Dolldrop Sunny 2.0 has/will have compared to the original:

Follow me eyes with irises instead of just solid blank white.

Removable eyebrows and teeth.

Removable eyelids.

Full fabric rays. Previously they were also 3D printed, now I cut and sew them from foam.

Body build with proper doll skeleton and foam. He is sturdy and very easy to pose, but still light to carry.

He grew from a newborn baby size to a toddler. From 55cm to 70cm. Partially it was an accident, because I used some baby clothes to measure the body proportions. I might end up shorthening him a bit if necessary.

Fully articulated 3D printed fingers with joints. I'll post some pictures of his hands after I paint them. Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to keep his squeaker in his hand 🥲

Goodbye Sumeru! Next stop is Fontaine with our lovely duelist Clorinde 💜⚡️

Unlike the last couple of redesigns, Clorinde's isn't that different from her original design. Compared to sumeru, I feel Fontaine did better with the cultural accuracy (although maybe I'm wrong 😅. I'm not a historian). Clorinde's design, however, did have some things that bothered me and there were also changes that I didn't see coming when I redesigned her.

Breakdown of redesign:

Most of the main problems were on her outfit, mainly the torso part and the shorts. I removed the corset and went for a complete white top. The shorts got switched to high waist pants, and those gem shaped buttons are actually from Clorinde's concept art:

Usually, when looking at a character, I already have an idea of what concept art we might do. Clorinde, however, I honestly thought she wasn't gonna get any since to me they were small changes. But I ran into a problem when I removed the black corset. I didn't consider that the sleeves and corset are a one-piece component of the outfit, and just leaving the sleeves didn't feel right. I actually wasn't sure how to continue with the redesign. So I went ahead and did concept art to see where to go with this:

The first model on the left was actually what I started with. In the end, I changed the black sleeves and went for a purple coat instead. One of the other problems was the color balance. Clorinde has a lot of dark colors, so a full white top and the purple coat helped manage that.

I also made the boots longer to fit with the long pants. Actually, I kinda simplified some details like the gloves and her cloak(I don’t know what it's really called). I even found myself having trouble drawing the feather on her hat, so I went for a fluffy purple feather instead, which I kinda like a lot more. Her cloak also have some blue gems to it to stand out from the purple.

Not sure if it's obvious, but I tried giving her unique facial structure features like a sharper chin structure. I also removed the streak in her hair because I felt it was random having it there. Clorinde has brown belt, inspired form her concept art again, to hold her sword.

Speaking of her sword, this is the first redesign where I drew a character in a unique pose. I wanna try to give different poses for future redesigns to kinda say something about character. The sword, called absolution, is from the game itself.

This so far has been my favorite redesign I've done for genshin impact. Although not sure how long I'm staying in Fontaine since Clorinde wasn't easy. What region or character you wanna see next?

The Thundermans Return

All right, I've finally watched the movie and just like old times, I have to give my honest opinion.

But first things first. It's been 6 years since the finale was aired and I must say I was so excited when Kira shared on her Instagram account, that they were making a movie and she was executive producer.

Since there was practically nothing filmed back then, I thought it was going to be for teenagers or adults, just like the revival of iCarly or Zoey 102, but I was wrong.

After watching the trailer I realized it was for kids, just like the original show, which wasn't that big of a deal and I watched the movie two days after the day of its release on Paramount+ and here are my thoughts.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

The movie starts with the family saving Metroburg from a meteor shower, using every one of their powers, something Hank could've easily taken care of, but still, it was pretty cool though.

And I have to say, those suits were awesome. They remind me of those kind of tactical suits wore by a few characters from TV Shows like Arrow or Supergirl. It was good to see the whole cast together after one more time. Also, those who were kids back in the day, looked like different actors, after only 6 years.

But anyway. After that, the title rolls and the family gathers in the headquarters, ready to spend a family night, but all Phoebe wants is to keep saving the day and is implied that she and Max have been doing that for quite some time.

They find a crime in progres but instead of letting other supes to handle for that night, the twins force their family to go stop a villain from robbing a bank.

They all teleport to the crime scene but things don't go as they expected, and due to Pheobe's orders, they end up injuring one of the V-Team members, as the other two stop the villain and save the day.

I don't know know they lost control of the situation like that. 7 supes against 1 villain, that's just too much. This is something Max and Phoebe could've screwed up by themselves, but well.

Soon, President Kickbutt shows up to inform that due to the injuried hero, they are gonna be replaced by the V-Team as well as get kicked out of the Hero League, which brings them back to Hiddenville.

And this is when we learn that the Thunderman family have been working as the T-Force at Metroburg for solid 3 years, leaving their old lifestyle behind.

Now everyone try to fit in their old town again. Max goes to his lair and finds Dr. Colosso having a tiki party with his furry friends. They talk about what happened and then Phoebe shows up to speak to him and they both seem to agree on using their powers for good, to which Dr. Colosso just laughs at them.

Then we see that Nora has finally outgrown from wearing bows and she makes it very clear by lasering the one Barb was holding for her. Then she and Hank see that Chloe is getting ready to go to the park while carrying a skateboard. They're scared something might happen to her, but let her go anyway, which makes them feel useless parents.

See the pattern here?

In the meantime, Billy and Nora are now attending to Hiddenville High, which by the way, doesn't make Principal Bradford and his ponytail very happy.

It was refreshing to see Billy and Nora as teenagers. Just like Max and Phoebe at the beginning of season 1.

As for the twins, Phoebe meets with Cherry at Splatburger, hoping to find a job soon and Max on the other hand, meets there too with his friends from the band, for old times' sake.

It was really cool to see all these funny characters once again. I had a lot of memories from "Never Friending Story", "Parents Just Don't Thunderstand" or "Exit Stage Theft".

At the same time, we see the V-Team is visiting Metroburg Superjail and we find out that they're actually a group of supervillains posing as heroes; the children of King Crab, Strongdor, and Dark Mayhem.

Their plan is simple: create an army of supervillains with a secret object hidden by the Hero League. The old guys had a plan that only boomers would understand, but is discarted immediately.

Later, Max and Phoebe are still trying to get back in the Hero League as the Tree Force, but then realize that their family doesn't want to fight crime anymore, so they're alone with this.

And man, this is always funny. I always liked all those jokes involving Max and Phoebe wearing costumes or disguises to go unnoticed. Not to mention that dweeb thing at the end of the scene xD

So much memories!

Then, back Max's lair Dr. Colosso helps Max to find out who the V-Team members really are, as Phoebe does the same by herself. Now both of them are aware that the V-Team is a group of villains.

And this is when Pheebs finally suits up as Thundergirl to go stop the bad guys alone. I wonder why they used the old suit, instead of the one with the skirt.

Who am I fooling? She looks good with both.

Back in Hidennville High, Nora and Billy are trying their best to make new friends and they only succeed the moment they start showing off their powers in front of everyone.

Leading to a small arguing between them, that ends with a tragedy for Bradford.

Meanwhile in Metroburg, the V-Team is desperately looking for the object they need. Then we learn that Dark Mayhem Jr. has the same sadistic habit Nora has; to laser poeple willy-nilly, ever since he was a kid.

Then Phoebe shows up, trying to enter by force in their old headquarters and stop all of them, but Max surprises her from behind and drags her back to hide from the villains, while watching them closely.

However, at some point they screw it up and get caught by the V-Team.

Back in Hiddenville, Hank and Barb are still worried about Chloe hanging out at the park with some new friends, so they ask uncle Blobbin a helicopter to go take care of her from the sky.

I never was a fan of uncle Blobbin, but it was cool this character was included for a small scene.

And yeah, looks like Hank and Barb are going throught the same crisis they went, when Max and Phoebe decided to celebrate their birthday by throwing a party at Wong's Pizza Palace. Their victims back then were Billy and Nora, now is young Chloe.

Anyway, they have a little accident (thanks to Cherry) and the helicopter crashes on the park. The two of them are fine, but all this makes Chloe realize that they've been spying on her all along and gets mad at them.

At the same time, Max and Phoebe are being interrogated by the V-Team, tied up with their own capes. I wish they were shown losing a fight against the villains at least, because it is implied that's what happened off screen. Just saying.

To me, there's no way they could've lost a fight against those villains, not with their multiple powers. Frozen by freeze breath, knocked out agains a wall with telekinesis, electrically shocked with the twin power, etc. And these are only non-letal options, but anyway.

Their goal is to get the Acacía Fantasticus, a very rare plant that can give people superpowers, either good (blue) or evil (red).

They mention that people from the past known for demonstrating superpowers had eaten the seeds of this plant, which is interesting, since they're finally revealing the origin of superpowers in the Thundermans world.

However, the way is gonna be presented seems like a terrible idea, but I'll talk about it later.

Since the twins don't have any idea where the power plant is, they're taken to Mayhem café, Dark Mayhem's old lair with a special booth perfectly designed to torture every member of the Thundermans family.

They activate it, and this is when the Thundertwins die horribly ☹️

She stayed on the radio for about five minutes after that, but they soon told her she could go. She let out a groan when she disconnected the headphones. She looked at her little set up and she took a picture of it, with the screens and the maps. She sent it to Salvo, to brag about what she just did. She stayed like that for a few second: super hero pose, hand on hips, legs spread out.

The invisible string tying Simon and Alba together was still there in some kind of way. She started cleaning Laswell's desk, he was putting away his equipment. She was sitting down and calling Kate, to tell her about the mission, he was having a briefing with the team. She thought about what she had said on radio, she thought about the adrenaline, she tried to remember if she said anything wrong or if she could have done anything different. All led to that three sweet words she couldn't get out of her head. The fact he was the one who pronounced them. Not the captain, not the charming and kind person that was Kyle. He did. It was out of character, yet so fitting. It was full circle, she had told him about all her theories and now that they finally finished the job and she played an important role, he recognised she was good.

He thought about it too. He thought about the fact it was surreal that she was allowed to be present on radio during an intervention. What was even more surreal was how good at it she was. She must have been a quick learner, but still. She sounded professional, she was concise and serious. So he said it, he said good work, so what? It wasn't a big deal… Johnny did give him a look when he said it, he pretended he didn't see. He had things to do. He felt less weird thinking of her, he felt justified by the way she handled that situation, which was perfectly. He tried to convince himself that he was human and it was normal to be platonically attracted to someone who was physically good looking and really smart. Now he actually admitted to himself she was smart. Smarter than him. He had no problem admitting she was attractive too, he had eyes. If they could have heard each other's thoughts, they would have had a conversation. She would have said, 'how did it go?'

Alba went home around six. She went home happy and content, only to find out Jinx had threw up all over the living room. If he wanted to see her he could reach out, that's what she thought. He knows where I teach ballet, he knows where I live, he knows where I work. Not that she wanted him to reach out. He probably would never anyways… She tried to stuff that thought at the back of her brain, discarding it as a normal, professional collegues interaction. She did what she always does, walk with Jinx to the park, with headphones this time, cause she didn't have anyone to talk to. Had dinner and washed the dishes. Did the laundry. It was when she got into bed that a flood of nostalgia hit her. She was back to old days. Remember second chapter, when I said she sometimes hated her life. This is what I mean. She had always been at the top of her game in everything. Best student, got the best internship, got the job, worked with professionals, everything. She got that job and Salvo was so impressed, she moved all the way to America and, well, she had no one to celebrate with, but still. What felt like the biggest accomplishment of her life was now starting to be boring. It wasn't boredom. It wasn't enough. What she felt doing that research, what she felt being part of that mission, that's what drove her mad, she craved that adrenaline all her life. And death and crime had always been a part of her, that's why she wasn't really scared to see people die. After what happened with her brother… After what she did in Italy, how could she be scared? She debated changing countries again. She thought about Switzerland, too close to Italy but so pretty… Maybe Copenhagen. She could move again. If she decided she felt claustrophobic in the next couple of days, she would consider moving away, trying her luck in another country. One with different opportunities, one in which she had no bad memories, and without any guys with skull masks.

if this is what gabriel is like with his memory wiped, then is that what he was like originally? did he only get awful after being promoted to archangel?

him avoiding the flood of tomatoes as he walks to az's shop. avoiding a red river aka the apocalypse?

az not calling crowley for any friendly reasons: neither heaven nor hell would have encouraged people to have friends or work together. there is no precedent for "friendship" or comradery. hence why none of them know angels can work together and create more powerful miracles than by themselves. nobody gives anyone gifts in heaven. the first time someone does, it turns gabriel into mush. beelz wonders aloud about praising each other for a job well done in hell, but nobody does that in heaven either. people think everyone else has it better but that's not true, everyone sucks in different ways.

if you watch the scenes with beelz asking if anyone found gabriel yet, it's not glee or anticipation on their face. it's worry. and it's not worry about getting a job done, like an assassin would have. it's worry for someone they care about, like asking after a sick friend.

in the opening credits, there's vegas showgirls with big ostrich feathers, and there's also what looks like either medieval people with the big pointy hats or regular people with party hats. we also see jesus and some guy in blue. i think the mountain at the end might be the mountain where god gives moses the ten commandments? that's a significant event that hasn't come up yet. we saw showgirls, we didn't see any of the other stuff.

the job story is az's story. how much can they do to him and he'll still go back, still praise god? blame himself? blame those who suffer the same fate? how much does he go along with the suffering of others? does he draw a line, and where? if he gives himself an excuse, does he also allow others the same excuse? job goes along right up until they kill his kids, and say they won't be brought back. he only doesn't get in trouble because they all lied to heaven about what happened. so perhaps crowley is gonna get killed off, and everyone is gonna pretend it didn't happen. it'll be az's turn to not kill people and lie.

the other glaring problem posed by jim's entire existence is that....he just obeys. he knows nothing, he takes everything anyone tells him as the word of god. crowley tells him he's evil and to die, he believes him and goes to die. like how muriel behaves, and doesn't recognize that anyone thinks ill of her or is being foul to her....like when metatron calls her "the dim one". when did the original gabriel turn nasty, and why? what was the catalyst?

"looking at where the furniture isn't". i don't think they fully wiped the memory of every demon in hell, but perhaps they wiped some of it, possibly who they used to be/the rank they held. it would explain why crowley didn't intro himself to az as an angel--which would mean heaven also forgot who was who in hell. maybe hell's hierarchy isn't the same as it was? as in, who fell and had the highest rank in heaven isn't who now has high rank in hell. maybe satan wasn't the top angel? or maybe he was, but the rest of the order isn't a direct transfer. this would explain why crowley seems to be so powerful and everyone wants to say they know him, but he doesn't remember them, and he's not one of the top people in hell. maybe satan was just the worst offender against heaven, but not the highest ranking in heaven.

wiping some memories would explain a cover up on the part of heaven, to stop efforts at overthrowing god. maybe muriel was also wiped previously, given that the resulting personality is jim's and she act just like he does. heaven acts like this is something they do a lot. so maybe every angel who started questioning after the fall, rather than kick them out, they wipe them. reset them. so that they behave. because they can't have anyone thinking there's an institutional problem. how many more angels would jump ship if they knew others had?

why doesn't muriel remember az from when they met before? this also tracks with uriel and michael not remembering who metatron is after just doing a whole trial with gabriel days prior. do they all lose their memory every few days? but then how would they remember they're after gabriel? maybe nobody can remember talking to god or metatron for very long after, their faces don't stay in memory, and nobody realizes this?

memory wipes would explain why all the demons are slightly dim. maybe heaven tried multiple memory wipes before the war in heaven. maybe they've been doing it multiple times since, to foil plans.

why can nina and maggie see all the superhuman stuff while no other humans can? we're gonna meet jesus next, so i think these humans are descendants of angels, or of jesus. traditionally there were nephilim. i think they're gonna go with descendant of jesus though.

The big-jacket looks so cute on her!

I had to draw-over the original image and do a re-design real quick, because when I first saw her new look, there was a few things I liked, but it also felt like it wasn't quite ENOUGH, and also reminded me of stuff I wish had been going with Rose and Juleka's designs from the beginning (I don't have the energy to draw Juleka right now... also, I'm not drawing-over the new Pigella pose, I did the one for Rose, so that's gonna be both of them). I used to imagine that it would be really fun if Rose and Juleka both sort of had an opposite/matching theme going on, with different combinations of pretty/punk styles (Juleka has longer hair, and darker clothing. Rose has short hair, and wears brighter colors). Also, together they make the lesbian flag, with Rose having more summer/warm tones in her outfit, switching to a cooler/vibrant pink as a hero. Juleka has more of the purples, and as a hero, her colors are a warmer-magenta. For the actual season 6 look, I loved that her hair is a shorter pixie, and the little hair-tie is so cute, but it just made me wish it was part of her hero costume (like piggy ears, instead literal pigtails/animal ears poking out). I decided to spike her hair up a bit, and it comes down in a curl as Pigella. I do like the rose-petal skirt, but I thought maybe making it really frilly will match with her hero form a little TOO, so I gave her a long sailor-style shirt with stripped sleeves (and a front pocket like a hoodie), a pleated skirt (she can be a little Sailor Moon, as a treat), dark tights, and sneakers. I know the Pig Miraculous is an anklet, but I liked the idea of it being hidden on her wrist with lots of other bracelets in her regular outfit. She also has a rose hairclip on one side. The Pigella outfit is just full-throttle princess girly-girl. I don't usually lean into that, but what the heck, she can have fun with it. I also decided she should have glasses, for the "rose colored glasses" pun, and then as Pigella, they turn to heart-shapes with a dark spot to match Daizzy. The new official Pigella has curly ribbons to be like a curly pig's tail, and that works fine. I could have maybe added more/adjusted certain things, but I didn't want it to be crazy complicated

Please fix her! Redesign her look! I love your designs for the MLB characters then in the show!

(I assume you meant Rose) I think my problem is that your reaction will differ depending on how close to the screen she is - her super light blonde eyebrows, near disappearing nose (in the opening's lighting), and stark makeup make for this wide eyed stare down that makes me feel like prey.

Also I had a problem with the mixing of warm and cool pinks from Season 1-5 so I hate that it's prominent in the new skirt. And is she wearing silver leggings with knee high socks?!

Personally, I don't hate her hair getting even shorter and I even agree with the bow to balance her out so she's not bottom heavy in the design. IMO if you're gonna mix feminine with sporty, go full out - combining a Varsity Jacket and "athletic" socks with a super feminine, sparkly dress is right out of Rainbow High's book and I love it for Rose.

I know the animation has it's own limits and maybe that's why the clothing choices are so close to the body, so I'm not trying to make shots at that. But I have no such limits, so I'm putting the tiny girl in a massive jacket. For fun.

Y'know, I was planning on redesigning the Jasmin World characters as sketches for the AV style, before using that as a base for their new artwork.

Unfortunately, I encountered a massive issue, the sketches looked horrible...

So, I decided instead of sketching a redesign, then drawing from scratch, I'd sketch a redesign, then edit their current artwork.

Currently, I only have Jasmin and Quinton done, who are the only two I sketched the redesigns of. Those sketches might've looked bad, but they gave me an idea of what I wanted to change, so they weren't a complete waste.

Anyway, without further ado, here's Jasmin's AV Style artwork! (Old artwork is on the right for comparison

Jasmin was COMPLETELY redrawn, heavily using her original artwork as a reference. I did this because her proportions were messed up originally, and her head wasn't symmetrical, as well as her overall design just being incredibly old, cause fun fact! Her artwork was originally made in the Ski-Z Style! And simply lazily updated to the JWatt style!

This meant my abilities have improved considerably since she was drawn, which is best seen by comparing her to Quinton or Elizabeth, who're far newer in comparison.

Anyway, I changed her hairstyle to actually make sense in 3D space, which is something that's been bugging me a lot! I also gave her an eyebrow, but it's unfortunately quite hard to notice. I was gonna give her a more natural skin tone, but I decided against it, since it just removed something from her, if that makes sense. Fortunately, since the shading is now separate from the color, I can easily change that if I decided against it!

I also decided against giving her ears, cause they just looked weird on her...

Anyway, next up is Quinton! (Old artwork on the right again)

Pretty massive difference... don't know how much I like the face shading...

Anyway, Quinton reuses most of his previous linework, notably however, I moved his left arm closer! It's been bugging me to no end, and I fortunately kept his posing armature in his project file! So I quickly redrew it, and edited his hand to fit!

A far more noticeable change however, is his eyes!!

I'm not joking, I nearly cried while designing his new eyes! You might not have noticed it in his original artwork, but he's supposed to be terrified!!! That's why he's hugging his arm!!! He barely fucking looks like it though! And that has annoyed me to no end! So I spent 20 minutes redesigning his eyes so he looks like he's on the verge of tears! He was already a bit of a scaredy cat prior to being shrunken, and he was already incredibly weak, to the point his friends made fun of him for it! Suddenly, he's 4 inches tall! EVERYONE can kill, or at the very least, hurt him! And he can't do anything to stop it! Especially since he freezes when scared! So he's terrified of angering everyone! Even Jasmin and Sophia! His adoptive family!

So, I ensured his eyes SHOWED that fear! Those eyes are what I thought his eyes on his original artwork looked like originally!

Anyway, I also gave him ears, since he looked very awkward without them, making him the first character I wanted to put ears on.

Oh yeah, one last thing about Quinton, all of his shading was done on 1 layer! This only excludes his eyes, which are on a 2nd layer, specifically so I can swap them out if I want.

Anyway, that's 2 out of 11 characters done, so 9 more left.

Next, I'm gonna do Elizabeth, with her 2 outfits. I'm probably just gonna give her an ear, but more importantly, she's gonna get her eyebrows back!!!!

After her are Sophia and Rossel (Jasmin's mother and aunt), the Trisha and Tithon, who I'll probably actually redesign, cause I still hate their current ones. After that, I only have characters I know I'll procrastinate on...

Those are, Hellen, Gunther, Child Jasmin, Child Trisha, and Bridget. Not characters I talk about very often, which is ironic with Hellen, since she's an extremely important character, and literally the main character of Quinton's story.

Can't seem to get my thoughts in order right so please bare with me. This is me trying to better plan our Ray's story a bit.

Ray's og world is basically a parallel to Ames, but the major difference is that it's more of a "bad end", situation. Lusamine was able to capture Lillie and Nebby just as she was going to run away, and thus, opened the wormholes much earlier than the plot. The ultra beasts still come along as the did in the plot, and while I do believe the tapus and the kahunas could handle themselves there, the biggest thing that fucked everything up was the fact that Necrozma found Ray's Alola, and proceeded to steal its light. This was what caused an already bad but manageable situation to turn so. So much worse.

Originally, the whole thing was gonna die. But it didn't sit right with me personally, so I think a better course of action would be that the ultra beasts were fended off. But Necrozma coming immediately after was The Worst bc both the tapus and the kahunas were pretty worn from the battles prior. It doesn't help that there's no Lunala/Solgaleo. So, going with a somewhat better note here, Necrozma was barely able to be pushed back, but not before taking A Lot of light. Not enough for the world to be lightless, but still a lot.

As for Ray, he was pretty much pushed into a wormhole by his mom, thinking that it was the end, and that the chances of her child falling somewhere safe was better than dying in a ruined world. And while the world is in ruin, it's not completely hopeless. This would imply that his mom was an aether employee that was involved with the Nebby stuff which would be interesting. That, or she worked with Burnet. Either way, she pushed Ray into a wormhole with her Hawlucha to look after him, and simply hoped for the best. It wasn't the brightest moves, but you can't exactly think clearly when your home is actively being attacked.

So for Ray and his home world, there is some levels of hope! The world is pretty fucked up but it's still alive! Yippee!!! This also means that Anabel forcing herself back into her old timeline doesn't result in the people she knows and loves in Ray's universe dying. Kinda. Double yippee!!!

I was gonna pose up a dilemma of Ray now not knowing where to go if/ when he finds out his home is not dead, having to choose between his old home and new one, but then I remembered he's a goddamn Chosen who can make wormholes for himself to traverse in. So like. It's overall fine.

It also kinda gives Ray some trajectory. Before he was just A Guy chilling while everyone else got the stresses of life on them. But it made him feel very aimless. But now I can see him actively working with Burnet, the Aether foundation and the Ultra Recon squad in finding ways to restore light to those who where affected by ultra Necrozma, while also visiting his old home and helping rebuild there.

....I guess I should add Ray into the list of secondary protags that go into STEM and become a researcher of some sort huh? Lmao.

Hi! I'm a super big fan of your art, everything is so pretty and amazing and I just wanna consume it every time I see one of your comics or illustrations. I just wanted to ask (cause I looked around a lil but didn't see anything covering this, if I missed it so sorry haha) what art program/tablet do you use to draw? Also, do you have any tips for beginning artists? I'm trying to get into drawing but I'm not too sure where to start TwT

Honestly if I were to offer any beginning artist tips I think the biggest one is to just have fun. I know it sounds silly but really like just have fun and don't worry about what you're drawing being perfect or exactly what you had in mind or anything like that. As long as you're having fun and doing your best and not stressing about what you're creating you'll find yourself wanting to draw and create more- and it's within time and persistence that your skills develop

Also while it's good to draw every day since you do need to actively draw more to improve, don't stress about making sure you do! Just go at your own pace and draw when you feel like it!

I think I stress both of these points since they're things I've been working on and struggling with off and on too, realizing I don't have to be constantly drawing and that what I do draw doesn't have to be perfect, and honestly my comics have been a great exercise in letting myself make things "imperfect"

Relating to actual drawing skill sets, I do think that doing figure drawing is incredibly important since learning anatomy is crucial to drawing, even if it's not the most fun thing. Really if you see someone in a cool pose- typically real life photos- if you just try to see the shapes the human body makes and just loosely sketch a messy version of where their body shapes are can help. You don't have to break them down super basically like some tutorials do, unless that helps you! Everyone draws differently so there's no Right Way to do anything. Here's some examples from some I did a while back! I used highlighters since it made it so I couldn't erase, so I had to be more purposeful in my lines, but you can use any medium you want!

And don't worry if it doesn't look exactly like the photo you're drawing from- you're learning!

Another thing is that references are your friend, looking at things and figuring out how to draw them is incredibly helpful so don't be afraid to look up anything you're trying to draw for help

Something I used to do specifically for learning, was looking at photos or even pieces of art I thought were cool and then trying to draw something how I saw it, to understand someone else's use of shape and form. These were things I kept in sketchbooks to just figure out how to draw things like hands and feet and legs, using real life and other's works as a reference to teach myself

Then later while drawing on my own, if I couldn't figure out how to draw something I would go back to my own references and practices to help myself by using my own referenced art as a reference- here's a whole page of hands I drew a couple years ago while looking at photos of hands and also some art (uhhh I believe it was from GinjaNinjaOwO on youtube- if you DO post anything you've referenced poses or elements from, be sure to credit the original artist you've taken reference from!)

You can see I've got a lot of mistakes and scribbles and wonky forms- because I was just trying to understand the shapes and practice drawing hands on my own time, this wasn't anything I had ever drawn with the intention of posting lmao

But! You can do this for any kind of thing you're trying to learn, from arms to facial shapes to hands- just learning what kind of shapes and forms bodies or anything else you're trying to draw take

As far as the side of what kind of stuff to USE to draw, really I'd say to not be afraid of pencil and paper, I know digital art can have a nice and clean polish to it, but especially if you're learning it's really nice to just have a sketchbook (any kind work, just find paper you like! I've been using dot grid notebooks lately!) and a pencil or pen or really anything you feel comfortable with, that you can just loosely draw with and use whenever you like

For digital hardware while I do LOVE the iPad, I know they're pricier and not everyone jives with them, so I'd recommend drawing tablets by the brand Huion, since I've had a great time with them in the past when I used my laptop with Paint Tool Sai, which I also highly recommend as a drawing program, but keep in mind you can use anything! I have a friend who makes AMAZING works just using mspaint lmao

Honestly! In the end, like I said, just focus on having fun and drawing things that you want to without worry for being perfect or 100% anatomically accurate or anything. There's fundamentals that are the best base to build off of but never stress too much about it. Have fun creating! 💙💜

God and this is such a good debut to Edge's pride. It's so uncanny to see how "different" he looks when he's smiling and all dad-like like that even when talking like some professional business, since his pride might as well be in a way, like a white-furred Simba compared to his first appearance (and obviously the fact that he's evil and not above killing others *Still sobbing over Quiet amd Clever and now whatever emotions Adamant is going through rn aaaaa* and might as well be the equivalent to a Lion mafia boss, but still, it's weird in a good way and you nailed it). I almost wanna punch that face lol. But y'all have certainly made him charming in this chapter, Imma make it a double punch with both fists in that case. You have officially made him more likable for me than he already has been, I'll always appreciate when Word of God turns into canon. And omg I love Bright already, she's so childish it's honestly kinda cute even if it's to the point of immaturity. I had such a different image of her before this but now... now she seems like she'll be a fun character to see play out in the comic and is so fricking precious. I need more of her now. I wanna see how bad she can be too. Evil(?) lesbians are so damn fun to write because I've done it before because my friend's was the same simple archetype (ofc that wasn't all to it but, it's the jist) hah.

And yea drawing him smiling and fatherlike was difficult, especially because I wanted to make him more vain with his expressions /but that wouldn't work/ because he's being completely honest here LOL He's not trying to trick Hope. He means what he's saying, and a villain that keeps their promises is pretty scary in my opinion. I wish I could've had Vanish and co do more, but they'll be doing more next time.

Once again I'm thrilled Bright made an impression on people. I like writing evil? lesbians too LOL Its so much fun. She is quite immature, but that'll present itself more later. I can't wait to show more of her.

And yea Fade is stuck in a hard place because his dad is actually good to him, but he's definitely hearing and seeing some things he didn't sign up for. He'll need to discuss a change in his contract.

Gunbreaker

The truest self. The most Millennia of all Millennias. Confident without being cocky, ornate without being gaudy. Black longcoat with silver and gold trim, splash of white for flair, and the Iconic Hat (TM). Very proud of the gauntlets (gold trim to match the coat) and boots (fur lining to match the collar).

That jacket was actually what inspired this whole project. I'd picked up every job and had outfits for each role by then, but the Jacket was a perfect match to The Hat... and Gunbreaker exclusive. Could I get all the rest their own unique look, that looked just as good?

Warrior

Millie's first job. I'd tried Lancer on a different character, but was frustrated by how fragile they were; starting as a tank was partly to alleviate that concern, and partly to skip ahead in dungeon queues. And then I just. never stopped tanking, lmao.

Most of these outfits start from the chestpiece, and this one's no exception. The boots and pants went through a few revisions, but I think the heavy-plate look works well. Those elbow spikes still bother me a little, though; might rework those sometime.

Paladin

Here's our first what-I-call-military-formal outfit; you'll see them recur pretty often. While the jacket is suited to the valiant protector identity, Lenny also likes to antagonize Fray; wearing this outfit while in nominal service to the ruler of a corrupt, unjust society is one of her little jokes.

A lot of coats seem to me to just cut off abruptly in the front, so I was very proud to get those pants with the faux-hem. Shoulda tried for a better shot of the shield, but in most poses it obscures the rest of the outfit. Which is what it's supposed to do, I guess...

Dark Knight

The traditional look was actually too broody for my tastes; I've instead opted for the look of someone who walked halfway around the world without stopping to rest to find you and kick your ass. Postman's Creed (Evil)-type beat. Using the Forgiven's chestpiece is also another one of those fun little jokes.

Not many of these deviate from The Hat, but a more intimidating look that hides the identity just feels right, here.

White Mage

Gridanian jobs tend to lean more outdoorsy. Here, the fur lining evokes White Mage's traditional frills without leaning too far towards femme. Proud I found matching boots.

These days, Millennia gets chills if he channels light aether too much. It's a psychosomatic reaction, mostly, but the extra insulation helps all the same.

Technically incomplete, but the Rose Couverte takes slightly more grinding than I was willing to put in at the time. The hunt for perfection remains never-ending... But it's good to still have something to aim for.

Scholar

My current main! White Mage was my first healer, but I value the ability to preempt damage that Scholar provides. Nothing better than seeing a raidwide fail to touch the party's actual health. Your "real flame" ain't shit, bud.

I wasn't sold on the ribbons at first, but military-formal longcoats with gold trim win out every time. Plus, it matches the book. Kinda funny that my two favorite classes still use these specific chestpieces, under the circumstances. What can I say? The li'l lady does good work.

Astrologian

Another victory for pants that look like shirts: that white bit with the triangles? Not part of the chestpiece! There's no good shot of it here, but the boots also have star ornaments that match the ones on the coat.

This one was fun to figure out the staging for. Originally, I was cropping these shots down, but didn't like how inconsistent the sizing was. Had to redo half of them, but I'd figured out proper lighting by then, so it worked out.

Sage

Once, Millie had a daydream of an admiral leading a fleet through the sea of stars, and feverishly assembled this getup in response.

Strange how things work out sometimes. The Manusya/Bonewicca gear was a mainstay of outfits past, but this is the only one in which the gloves survive. On the other hand, I might never have known the Raincoat's fashion potential if I'd never gone to the aquarium.

(Shoutouts to the Eorzean Museum Network, whose passion for elaborate digital projects, despite the conclusions you might draw from this post, far eclipses my own.)

Monk

This outfit originally belonged to Samurai, but I felt the simpler design drew better attention to those fists. Includes matching heavy metal boots, to amp the impact of kicks.

Dragoon

Another outfit where I was aiming for military-formal before I stumbled ass-backwards into this chestpiece while browsing the PvP gear. It just somehow incidentally went with all the other pieces I already had. Still hardly believe it.

Ninja

Nondescript traveler. Dressed well, but unmemorably. Safe to ignore.

I'm not actually that big a fan of the whole mystical wizard direction that Ninja takes; this outfit is meant to evoke its origins in Rogue. I even had Generic Dagger as a weapon for a while- anything with a proper hilt guard just doesn't feel right- but these shortblades better represent Millennia's actual threat level.

Might change the boots for something softer-soled sometime, but I like the way they flow into the pants.

Samurai

Used to have a cyberpunk getup that I was very proud to have assembled, but the vibes never hit quite right. I got very lucky with this year's Heavensturn reward. Also features the #55 boots, another staple of outfits past. Black and gold and so on, you know.

Reaper

I saw the scythe and I saw the chest and I knew I had a winner. I wish the skirt was a little less ornate? But it's like, the only one Reaper can wear that also has pants. So many opportunities for your dress to fly up in these latest dungeons...

Shoutouts to every DRK main with the same chestpiece, and the one Reaper I saw with the same getup but in white. I am shaking your collective hands.

Bard

Leaned into the outdoorsman/hunter look for this one. I debated waiting until Valentione's ended to pose in the amphitheatre, but fame is a mantle ill-tailored to Minnie; she'd rather perform for friends than crowds. Not that I've. ever actually used the performance feature...

Machinist

It may look silly when using flamethrower, but there's no real alternative to the platonic ideal of [Gun]. I'm sure you're all shocked to see another military-formal kit as well.

Sometimes it bothers me that so many of these just use Normal Black Glove, but you don't really need anything fancier if the sleeves and cuffs are good on their own.

Dancer

It is. so hard. to find Dancer-y outfits that actually cover the body. Very satisfied when this one came together.

Having second thoughts on the boots, but most other options were pointier than I liked. Not trying to evoke Waluigi, y'know?

Black Mage

Refined and elegant and big metal boots. Another little joke. Very lucky they released that hat; a surprising number of these pieces only came out within the last few weeks. The Appointed flatcap is fine- you've seen it in a couple outfits already- but the puffier look vibes better in general, I think.

Those gloves were the last piece I got before I considered this project complete enough to show off. They took three days to drop.

Worth it.

Summoner

I wanted a heavier look for Ifrit's melee skills and a draconic vibe overall. The Radiant's chest was my first pick, but ended up too monochrome; this still ticks all the boxes and pairs well with the Archfiend gauntlets.

Gonna need a new outfit if Oracle becomes real, though.

Red Mage

Took me a while to settle on this chestpiece. Used to have a lightly-armored look which had a scarf I rather liked, but there kept being too much brown leather for my tastes. This way, though, I can draw narrative connections to Alisaie. Inspiring and being inspired in turn, kinda deal.

Disciple of the Hand

If not for the utility belt, this would make for a perfect casual outfit. And the gloves, but those're on purpose.

Lenny's more keen on the intricate, high-detail work of alchemy and goldsmithing than the blunt routine of armorsmithing and the like. However, the armorsmithing guild has excellent staging, so that's whatcha get.

Someday, I plan to assemble unique outfits for each Disciple of Hand and Land, but for now I am literally out of glamour plates. Desperately hoping they add more by the time 7.0 rolls around.

Disciple of the Land

Did you know? The Disciples of Hand and Land share the base animations of the Paladin! I've exploited that for the action shot. Please do not chop wood one-handed unless you know what you're doing.

I think at this point the outfit speaks for itself, but that coat serves as a good reminder of how expensive this whole endeavor was. Must've cost about a million gil on its own, and that's with the relative discount of buying the materials and crafting it myself! Let alone all the jet-black dye I still haven't bought. I used to have savings in the seven digits...

Blue Mage

Didn't think I'd forgot, didja?

This one's a little special. Millennia uses the guise of Azuro as an escape from the pressures of being World's Savior; this outfit is deliberately gaudier than the others to better create a separate sense of identity.

Sometimes I wonder if using an Allagan outfit on a Meracydian job is in poor taste, but it's already being exploited for bloodsport, so...

...Uh. Azuro?

My problem with Pokémon right now is that most of these past generations (SwSh, BDSP, and now SV) have been hyped up to the degree of making you want to shell out between $60.00-$120.00 USD but have come out quite lackluster, but by the time you find that out, Pokémon, Game freak, Nintendo, whoever the hell owns it now. They've already made that money.

I'm gonna gripe about them and this is my personal opinion. I will state now that I am a long time fan of Pokémon; the first game I played was Gold and the first game I bought for myself was Diamond. I am old enough to remember when Black and White 1 had commercials on TV (which is saying something because my memory is atrocious) and I've played at least one game from every generation.

In other words my post is probably gonna be biased.

I had some fun playing Sword and Shield. The plot was decent enough to keep me interested, as were the cool designs of a handful of new Pokémon. Snom, Obstagoon, and Corviknight are my favorites from that generation, probably. The starters are all lackluster and I usually shove them in my box after catching something else. And in terms of designs, can someone please tell me what the fuck Pokémon was thinking when they made Swordward and Shieldbert?

The wild area we were promised wasn't as expansive as we thought, the weather feature was weird as heck, the render distance was abysmal. So they release a DLC for the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra. Genuinely love the DLC and how much more you can explore. I don't remember how much the DLC was, but it was like.. $30.00 USD or something to get both of them.

The DLC gave us back one beloved feature that the game devs have failed to provide since Gen 4. Pokémon could walk with us again. You could only walk with them on the Isle or in the Tundra, though. I essentially payed $30.00 for one of my favorite features and said feature ran like shit. My Golisopod walked at a treacherously low speed and I outpaced it by walking. Not to speak of your faster Pokémon that sprinted at you with malicious intent every five seconds if you didn't outpace it.

I don't remember if Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu came out before or after this, but the feature worked perfectly in those games (to my knowledge; it's been a while!) Unless your Pokémon got stuck on something.

The plot of Sword and Shield was kept hidden from us really until the very end. The "big bad team" we got were insignificant flies that tried to trip us up every step of the way. And the Team Yell admin was literally just another gym challenger. I love Marnie and I love Piers but I don't think Team Yell was plot relevant, just extremely annoying.

The games going oh here's this evil team leader BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE started in Sun and Moon but I think it worked there purely because that was new. It was new, it was unique, it was done well, and Guzma got to call us idiots. They keep trying to do that now in different ways and it just doesn't hit for me. I want to go back to one super bad team (or two, in an Aqua Magma scenario) where they try to bring back an ancient deity and everything goes to shit. That's what Pokémon was.

BDSP was literally a copy paste of the file data from DP because there's apparently a bug present in BDSP that was patched in Platinum. Also, it's apparently super easy to a void glitch now, and you can fly on a surfing bidoof. And you can soft lock yourself in the ice gym. There's so many other bugs but those are the ones I remember.

My biggest gripes about the game are the fact that I payed double now what I did for the originals in the past for what was essentially the exact same thing with a few extra bells and whistles (and bugs), and whatever the fuck this was supposed to be.

Garchomp is supposed to be intimidating, and I guess from an in game view that would be, but I just stared at it going what the fuck did they do to him. He's t-posing. At least he keeps up with the player I guess. Not to mention all the models are miniscule. Rayquaza looks like a worm following the player.

And speaking of intimidating, what in god's name did they do to Cyrus.

I'm supposed to be intimidated by this emotionless man but he looks like a chew toy.

I love Diamond and Pearl. I hate having to tear a remake of it down like this. My disappointment was immeasurable, to be sure. I waited so long for a remake and we got this joke. Nothing changed. Yeah the underground is bigger, but what about the special gimmicks? No mega evolution, no dynamax?

And I don't think anyone has really talked about it because we immediately got Legends Arceus out and I will say right now I have put an ungodly amount of hours into that game and still haven't beaten it because Munchlax fucking sucks to find. I know where to find it, it just hates me. Yeah the Pokémon don't follow you, but that's probably preferable to them not being able to keep up. My favorite things about the game were that Pokémon actually got near each other in battle to hit each other, and that to could spam Pokéballs and not fight. Pokémon felt like a proper threat. You had to dodge them to stay alive.

It felt like a proper Pokémon game again, with one bad guy (in this case Volo) trying to end the world just so he can see God because he's too much a fangirl. The game revamped old characters, brought back a familiar face (Ingo my beloved) and gave us a plot worth fighting for. I tell you I squealed when the player got exiled and I was immediately brought back to PMD. Sure there were the bandit sisters, and again, the devs led us to believe they were the bad guys in advertising but they were just stupid pests that had no idea what they were doing.

My favorite things were immediately taken away in Scarlet and Violet. Yeah it's an open world. It's expansive. It's fun. Pokémon still run at you. I can't jump out of the way anymore, I have hop on my bike god and drive away. You can sneak, but what's the point when you have to battle the Pokémon to catch it anyway? Pokémon are practicing social distancing again, apparently. The sprites don't get near each other to attack anymore.

And the designs oh God the designs.

Dunsparse can evolve! He just gets longer and gets a pointier chin. What's Pawmi evolve into? Oh, it just stands up and gets anime hair. Speaking of anime hair, Primape apparently cosplays Dragon Ball Z when it dies. Lechonk was cute, I bet it evolves into something cool. Nope, just a slightly bigger pig with mascara. The pseudo-legendary is a joke among Gods. Cetoddle is cute, and Cetitan would be cool if it's mouth wasn't above its eyes. Love the fact that we have a mimic now. You need 999 gold coins to evolve it into a Dammit Doll. Half the Pokémon have a plastic face glued on a round orb of a head with zero protruding facial features like, I don't know, a snout or a nose? There's a flamingo that's just a flamingo, nothing special about it. Also we apparently get to fight literal cars and engines now! Have we reached the point of Pokémon Gun?

Not to mention that Pokémon following is back! It sucks again. Lots of Pokémon can't keep up with the player or Miraidon (I have Violet.) Meowscarada apparently has the zoomies and might be the exception.

SV: How many technical issues do you want us to have

Game Devs: Yes

They're also doing the misleading bad guy plot again and I can't tell if I should trust Turo or not. I haven't even physically met him in game yet.

The game has potential. I am just so unbelievably disappointed that the devs hid the pathetic Pokémon they were creating until leaks came out. I didn't think half the leaks were real, they all looked so farfetched. My team has ended up comprised almost entirely of old Pokémon that I treasure. That being said, all of them were hard to find so I basically played the entire game with just Meowscarada (because I've found that I don't hate it that much in motion) and Talonflame. My favorite Pokémon Absol isn't even in the game. I doubt we're ever getting the Nat Dex back, which means I can't play with all my old Pokémon friends together anymore.

I don't know how many more new Pokémon games I'm going to play. I feel like I've been let down too many times recently. I'm almost done with Violet, I think, because I never do the dex anyway. I'll catch my version exclusives and give them to my friends but when I beat the game I can't say if I'll pick it up again or not. And if I do, it might be solely so I can watch what's his name heal his dog with herbs again.

so i get if u don’t wanna answer this cuz questions like this can be hard but!! i’ve been trying to learn to draw for the last month or two, and since ur one of my favorite artists on here i was wondering what made you want to start drawing? was it something u always liked or did u get into a little later on? when u first started how did u pick up skills, and did u have any specific things that helped you develop ur style over time? again pls don’t feel like u have to answer any of this or anything, im just curious!!

To be completely honest with you, I think my artist origin story is embarrassing but I'm happy to share :) I'm pretty sure there are photos of like... toddler me drawing on those magnetic drawing board things so art has probably always been something I enjoy haha. But I actually got invested in art when I was 8 and my brother started reading manga, which prompted me to do that too. I fell in love with the art style I saw in fairy tail and for years I was really inspired by it. I'm not sure if the fairy tail influence still shows in my art but my guess is that there's still an anime-sque aspect to the way I draw? But more on that later.

I don't know what your opinion is on tracing - some people say it's cheating, others don't, whatever - but that's how I started. I wasn't really putting much thought into it, because I was 8, but the thing with tracing is that it's a good way to get used to drawing certain proportions. I don't have any photos of the stuff I did when tracing, but if you look up fairy tail panels you'll get an idea of the style I was trying to learn at the time. Then my family found out I was just tracing stuff and made fun of me for it (I'm still salty about that over a decade later lmao) so I graduated to copying :)

I never enjoyed the concept of properly measuring things out to get exact proportions when I was copying panels, which was inconvenient in some ways but was actually a great way to train my eyes for observational drawing! The trick here is to start small and simple before you move on to more complex images. Did I do that? Probably not, but I'm too ambitious for my own good when it comes to art. I did try exploring a style of my own, one based on my imagination rather than simply copying images, but ho boy that was a struggle. It also happened around the time I was starting to get interested in digital art (I must've been around 15yo?) so it was just a whole mess. I don't particularly feel like going into the details of everything I was trying at the time because I really don't remember much of it but my best baby steps were the ones where I observed the styles of artists I really liked. Luckily for me, a couple of my faves posted speedpaints and stuff on youtube, some of which I watched religiously, and it pushed me to experiment with some of the techniques they used. It helped me a lot when trying to find brushes and colouring techniques I liked.

In all honesty though, I think the most progress I've made has been in the past year? This feels embarrassing to say but glee gave me a massive rush of inspiration and I started churning out art like the unhinged sleep-deprived gremlin I am and I allowed myself to experiment with a lot of different things. Figuring out what brushes I like to use, a colouring system that works for me (it still changes regularly ngl), pushing myself with more complex backgrounds and dynamic poses, things like that. I'm still always inspired by other artists, some whom I have admired ever since I started drawing and posting fanart (my main inspiration these days is kkumri!! I've been a fan of her art since my fairy tail days lmao and since her art style is heavily influenced by anime, mine still is too). I guess what I'm saying is that experimentation and practice are key, but it also helps to find things you like about other artists' styles and implement them into your own.

You'll notice I haven't talked about anatomy yet. I wanted to write that in a separate section because anatomy has been its own separate, annoying monster for me. Which is entirely my fault, because I didn't really try learning anatomy until I left my copying stage, and by then a lot of habits had already formed. What helped me the most here was observational drawing! Human anatomy is wildly confusing for me, and trying to learn how to draw the entire body was too stressful, so I like identifying something I struggle with and focusing on it for a while. For example, a while back, I started the 100 heads challenge because I was struggling with faces. My goal was to draw 10 faces a day, for 10 days, and even though I gave up halfway through at only 50 heads, it helped a lot. Last summer, I got really frustrated with hands because I was drawing them more often but they never looked right, so for a few days I would just. sit down. and take the time to sketch out some hands based on a wide variety of references. just hand in different positions, from different perspectives. same with feet. When I started drawing more dynamic poses for the sports aus, I practiced figure drawing and just... Focused on the flow of a pose rather than letting myself get bogged down by details. Sometimes I like drawing in monochromatic to focus on where the lighting is coming from and how it affects the positioning and shape of shadows (that's actually how I started the furtana hiking drawing! coloured in greyscale first!).

I still struggle with things like muscles and clothing folds, both of which are things I know I need to practice and haven't gotten around to doing anytime recently, but to practice those I would take the same approach that I did for anatomy stuff. References are so so important and helpful!! They're actually life-savers for me!

This is getting long so I'll just leave it off here with some final thoughts. This is all stuff that has (kinda) worked for me, and it might not work for you. Everyone has different methods of approaching art and it takes a while to figure out what works best for you. That said, I'm always happy to talk more about art if you have more questions! I'm not sure if you're interested in seeing my usual art process and stuff like that but if you are, ask away! Also, last thought - be nice to yourself! I tend to get really impatient and frustrated if things aren't turning out the way I want them to, but art is just one of those things that takes time and practice. Realistically, your art isn't going to look exactly like you want it to, but that doesn't mean you're not making progress <3
