I love absolutely all of the costume pieces in Hackers, they’re all such unique pieces and are so fitting for each respective character but i just wanted to share just a few of my favs that i saw on hackers curators!!
Dades party pants - “Dade wears these checkered wide-legged bondage pants to Kate's party. They were designed for Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren's World's End label, for the 1984 Hypnos collection. Dade's pants are blue and orange checked with orange details, but a light blue and yellow color was also produced.”
Phreaks BW jacket - “Phreak wears this black and white Pierre Cardin leather jacket on top of the Empire State Building during the hack battle and again when the Hackers gather around a pool table to score the battle”
Cereals velvet underground Tank - “Cereal wears this ripped 1980s The Velvet Underground tee during both Cyberdelia scenes and at Lord Nikon's apartment when he shows up to watch Hack The Planet. The shirt features the cover art from Michael Leigh's controversial novel from which the band got their name.” (i made a version of this for a cosplay awhile ago)
Curtis’ Jacket - “Curtis wears this jacket by Solar-1 to Cyberdelia on the night Dade beats Kate's top score.. It is an EMT jacket that is available in several colors and has distinctive silver reflective stripes to help Curtis look slick all day (and night).”
Kates backpack - “Kate's "backpack" is a USAF C9 Parachute quarter deployment bag. The straps were added for the film” extra: “Deepdive information is coming soon, but in the meantime, check out the video process of our recreation.”
https://youtu.be/jTXmRBjQXVE
youtube
Razors Boots - “Razor wears these long "yeti" fur boots in the club scene when he and Blade agree to help hack the Gibson. These boots are vintage goat fur après ski boots by Italian label Oscar Sport, likely from the 1970s. Oscar still makes this style, called the Capra 01, although a few small details have changed in the past few decades. If the current model is any indication, the boots are handmade in Italy out of Tibetan goat fur and are wool-lined. Razor must be cold-blooded to dance all night in these babies!”

Phantom Phreak, the King of NYNEX - HACKERS 1995) and Steve Wozniak "Woz" aka Berkeley Blu…
Couple signed disks photos to post up, a few days after the Marchintosh activities since they were not exactly retro Mac, but sorta! Renoly Santiago (Phantom Phreak, the King of NYNEX - HACKERS 1995) and Steve Wozniak "Woz" aka Berkeley Blu…
…history of phone phreaking, Exploding the Phone, engineer and consultant Phil Lapsley details the story of the 1960s and 1970s culture of hackers who, like Tufte, devised numerous ways to outwit the phone system. The foreword of the book is by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple—and, as it happens, an old-school hacker himself. Before Wozniak and Steve Jobs built Apple in the 1970s, they were phone phreaks. (Wozniak’s hacker name was Berkeley Blue; Jobs’ handle was Oaf Tobar.) - Slate.

do have any ideas for you version of miraculous ladybug like introducing non akumatized villains?
Hmm, I think I have a couple of ideas, like with turning back M. Pigeon and the Mime into non-akumatized villains. So, here are my concepts for some of the villains of seasons one and two for now:
Hawkmoth is a dark, mysterious supervillain serving as the main antagonist of Miraculous Heroes. He is only identified by his dark purple suit and his reflective butterfly mask, and he is the current wielder of the butterfly miraculous charm and is aided by Nooru, the kwami of empowerment. He possesses the ability to either grant someone superpowers or empower their already-existing abilities, transforming them into an advanced, empowered version of themselves. He is also recruiting other supervillains (through his personal henchman, the Mime) into his new supervillain team, the Société Obscure, and so far, he has recruited M. Pigeon, Simon Says, the Bouffon, Matchmaker.
The Mime is a quiet, dangerous henchman working personally for Hawkmoth. He can manifest any object to existence by using mime performance, like a wooden mallet, or a set of TNT. He is also responsible for recruiting local villains into Hawkmoth’s new organization, the Société Obscure. In his public identity, he is the gentle performance artist Fred Harpèle, who happens to be the father of lycée student Mylène Haprèle.
Phantom Phreak is a eccentric, mysterious crook who is seen in an LED smiley mask and hooded street wear. He possesses a specialized hacking gauntlet that allows him to hack into and control any form of technology, such as cars, security cameras, or computers, and he has an arsenal of weaponized drones. He is also an ally of Hawkmoth, though not a member of the Société Obscure, as he aids him through manipulating teenagers into his secret supervillain school program, Académie Fantômas, and so far, he had recruited Dark Cupid, Timebreaker, Gamemaster, Stormy Weather, Tidal Thunder, MC Zoom, Rismatik, Princess Fragrance, Lady Wifi (secretly undercover), Puppeteer, and Volpina. In public, he is talented super scientist Dr. Gérard Innovera, director of Eiffel Innovations and frequent ally of several superheroes (including Knightowl, Jade Turtle, and the previous Miraculous Duo).
Queen Aurumis is a dastardly villainess who wishes to steal every luxury item in the world and make them hers. She is made entirely out of golden glitter, allowing herself to slip into tiny openings, and she is also equipped with a cursed staff that allows her to petrify anyone or anything into solid gold. In public, she’s one of the world’s famous fashion icons and director of the high fashion magazine Style Queen, Audrey Bourgeois, who is also Chloé’s neglectful mother and André's unfaithful wife. Aurumis also happens to be a recurring enemy of the Union of Superheroes and New York Guardians. She later invites herself into the Société Obscure, much to Hawkmoth's dismay.
The Milieu Chasseur is the city’s most dangerous organized crime gang, led by the notorious David Chasseur. They have been long active since the 1910s, having committed numerous criminal activities such as racketeering, money laundering, robbery, arms trafficking, and murder. They were also responsible for the reduction of super activity in the 1990s, as David wanted no superheroes or supervillains to interfere with his activities. The gang is also in conflict with the larger Collectif, as David wants to preserve his gang's legacy as the last standing French milieu gang in France. Other members include the Specialistes, a trio of high-ranking lieutenants consisting of well-reserved enforcer Marcus Beauchamp, quiet muscle man Hector Levesque, and rowdy gunman Frank Ménard.
Lapin Blanc is a quick, dangerous hitman noted by his white attire, creepy bunny mask, and signature machine pistol. He serves as the trump card of the milieu, as he has a high kill count of 76 targets and a 97.7% success rate of his assassinations, and he also serves as a special enforcer in order to intimidate criminal associates, especially corrupt politicians like André Bourgeois. In public, he is local slacker Bernard Rapidos, a man in his late 20s who mainly plays FPS games and watch comedies on TV, and he always hates it whenever someone barges in his door, whether it's his landlord or his boss, David.
M. Pigeon is a goofy supervillain who specializes in taming pigeons and using them for his dastardly crimes. He aims to make the city pay for their long mistreatment of the local pigeon population. He is equipped with a special flute that allows him to control his flock of pigeons like a pied piper. After he is first defeated by Ladybug and Chat Noir, he is immediately taken by the Mime, who then recruits him into the Société Obscure. His public identity is simple pigeon handler Xavier Ramier, a prominent animal rights activist who aimed to push a reform in public attitude with pigeons before his plans were rejected by local indifferent politicians.
Simon Says is the villain moniker of former TV personality Simon Grimault, a failed hypnotist who attempted to make a successful hypnosis on live TV. He uses a state-of-the-art hypnotizing hat that allows him to control people at his whim, but only when he uses the phrase "Simon says". His first scheme was to expose Ladybug and Chat Noir's identities, but they eventually learned how to use quantum masking (irremovability of their masks) and managed to defeat him. He later becomes a new member of the Société Obscure after his defeat.
The Bouffon is a wild, wisecracking jester who aims to turn the city upside-down. He has a large arsenal of wacky gadgets and gizmos to aid him in his wild pranks, such as operating a metro train on the streets of Paris, turn the Eiffel Tower into the Leaning Eiffel Tower, or TP-ing the entire Palace of Versailles. He is later recruited into the Société Obscure by the Mime after his plans were thwarted by Ladybug and Chat Noir. He is identified as former lawyer Jacques Ardouin, who had been involved in numerous scandalous cases that drove him mad.
Pixelator is a new supervillain who specializes in kidnapping people, paralyzing them, and posing them in weird, flamboyant portraits. He uses a state-of-the-art camera that can freeze someone in place as long as they are in eye contact with the flash. His public identity is Vincent Aza, and he also happens to be a huge fan of local rock star Jagged Stone, but sadly for him, he got banned from attending any meetup with his idol after snooping into his dressing room one too many times. After his defeat, he is later recruited into the Société Obscure by the Mime.
So, that's all the villains I can conceptualize for seasons one and two of my ML fan concept. Sadly, I had to make a part two of this post after reaching the apparent 4096-character limit. Sorry if I took too long to answer, @xwolfclaw.

So, I recently rewatched the movie Hackers (1995) and me and my sister were joking about how non of the characters are both straight and cis (except for one)... so here's a master post on my headcanons about the main Hackers (1995) cast;
Let's start with my favourite character: Cereal killer
I feel like it's obvious they use he/they pronouns and that he is pansexual. He's still definitely okay with being called 'dude' and 'man' but only bc they use those terms for any and all gender.
Next up; the Phantom Phreak
This one is even more obvious imo, they use they/them pronouns. (When Joey calls them dude and they go 'one more dude and I'll slap the shit out of you',,, I felt that) They are just completely genderless and probably identifies as queer. They don't label their sexuality
Acid burn is next
So, she's cis (uses she/her) and bisexual with a preference for men. She just simply isn't straight. Not much more to say
My other favorite; Joey
My headcanon kept changing but in the end, this one made the most sense; Joey is a trans man. He uses he/him. He's not straight but he definitely doesn't know more than that (He is Phreaks boyfriend)
Zero cool/Crash override, my beloved;
So, this one I was wrong about at first but I corrected my own error. I first said he was the cishet friend... I'm so sorry bisexual king, please forgive me. He uses he/him
Now for the cishet friend, drumroll please; Lord Nicon!
Lord Nicon is straight and uses he/him pronouns. He's still cool though
Bonus, the plague;
Idk what is going on with him but he's definitely not straight (or cis)

An internet tag has been ground into my mind since I saw Hackers at a precocious age. Obviously, if you're going to be online, you have to have a handle to which you can be known.
Every one of these goobers had a username that had a reputation. I wanted to be Lord Nikon, Crash-Override, Cereal-Killer, or the Phantom-Phreak.
I think the WoW rp community needs to adapt an idea the tumblr rp community has been doing for years and that's giving yourself a mundane name to refer to yourself oocly. Would help with that separating yourself from your character issue that's going on. Just a thought. Like my mun name is Ari or Atelier. Yours could be a favorite deity, a place, a flower, a name you really like. Sky's the limit.

Hackers (1995)
Hackers is on the cusp of being a good film. Even if you don’t like it, you can understand its appeal. A product of its time (for the better I say) it may in no way reflects what computer hacking is actually like but the picture’s got plenty of style.
Dade "Zero Cool" Murphy (Jonny Lee Miller) is a prodigal hacker who has finally gotten off of his no-computer parole (as per a judge ruling). Now 18, he befriends a group of hackers at his high school and, while proving his computing skills, stumbles upon a corporation's extortion scheme.
In reality, hacking more often than not consists of guesswork. Is the password their birthdate? The name of their first pet? They seem to have a strange fascination for Deep Blue Sea, so perhaps you should try “shark”? Hackers dips its toe in this reality but if you can operate a computer in this film, you’re basically a wizard. Turn traffic lights on and off? Sure. Alter someone’s criminal record? Easy peasy. Why not go all the way and pronounce them dead? No problem. You'll either cringe at the inaccuracies or appreciate the 90’s-ness on display. Today, hackers are stealing your credit card information or locking you out of your computer unless you pay a ransom. Back when the internet was a new thing, being a hacker meant you were part of this elusive group that was “In the know”. It meant you knew how computers worked and that - if you were stealing from anyone - it was from a big corporation that was probably up to no good. You were a criminal, sure, but really, you were someone who had a cheat code to life, a person to be admired. That’s the headspace you have to put yourself in while watching this Iain Softley picture. If you can manage that, you'll have fun.
Even for the time, aspects of "Hackers" are flimsy. The characters are flat. Aside from liking computers and having a certain disregard for authority figures, you don’t know much about Dade. Similarly, his new friends Ramon “The Phantom Phreak” Sanchez (Renoly Santiago), Emmanuel “Cereal Killer” Goldstein (Matthew Lillard), Paul “Lord Nikon” Cook (Laurence Mason) and Joey Pardella (Jesse Bradford) are so thin they basically become generic hacker stand-ins. Angelina Jolie as Kate does a little bit better, mostly because she's the only female in the group and has more screen time than the rest, but even then, you wouldn’t know what to bring up in a conversation. At least they fare better than the picture’s villain, Eugene “The Plague” Belford (Fisher Stevens, looking an awful lot like Billy Mitchell). They all fit in this era of filmmaking, but there’s much more that could’ve been done with them.
One of the film’s most notable aspects has to be its visuals. “Wait, what? Isn’t this film about people typing on their keyboards?” Yes, but that’s not what you see. It’s not quite on the same level as Tron, which is really a fantasy film with a coat of “computer jargon” on top, but it’s getting there. When Dade and his friends hop online, the audience is treated to cool sights as city blocks turn into visual representations of what it would be like to navigate the web if websites where three-dimensional. We all know it’s nothing like that in real life, but it sure makes for some interesting images.
While Hackers does not reflect what breaking into a corporation’s server is really like, it does understand the mindspace of its people. It shows you that desire to stand out from the crowd, the need to create a new identity via handles, breaks down why someone would find it so exciting to spend hours (theoretically) pouring through code to find that one line that allows them access into a backdoor in a program. This is a wild exaggeration, but it has some distant ancestor that was the real deal. There are a few too many parts that’ll make you go “Come on, REALLY?” but I can still mildly recommend Hackers. (On DVD, May 4, 2018)

What was Akane's call sign when she streams for the Phantom Thieves? or she doesn't have one?
I don't quite remember if she had one. The Toy/Puppet she uses is called The Phantom though and her fans and Viewers are called Phreaks but that's the only details we get about Akane's internet presence.
Given Mishima's writing a documentary about how the Phantom Thieves saved and inspired people, I'd assume Akane would be interviewed for her streams. So perhaps a future spinoff will grant more details?
