#The Zyra Galaxy

So I’ve been working on creating custom space objects for my custom galaxy Zyra, and I thought I would show you something I made!

This solar system is called Ares, after the Greek God of war. It consists of nine stars of different types and sizes, arranged in a complex hierarchical configuration. The stars are:

Ares A: The central and largest star, a blue supergiant with a mass of about 50 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 25 times that of the sun. It is the oldest and brightest star in the system, and the source of most of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 25,000°C, and emits a strong ultraviolet radiation. It is named after the Egyptian god of creation, who was considered the father of the other gods.

Ares B: The second star, a yellow giant with a mass of about 5 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 10 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares A at a distance of about 0.5 AU (astronomical units, or the average distance from the earth to the sun), and has a period of about 6 months. It is the second oldest and second brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 6,000°C, and emits a moderate visible radiation. It is named after the Egyptian god of air, who was considered the son of Atum and the father of the sky and the earth.

Ares C: The third star, a red dwarf with a mass of about 0.2 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 0.2 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares B at a distance of about 0.05 AU, and has a period of about 10 days. It is the third oldest and third brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 3,000°C, and emits a weak infrared radiation.

Ares D: The fourth star, a white dwarf with a mass of about 0.6 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 0.01 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares F at a distance of about 0.1 AU, and has a period of about 20 days. It is the fourth oldest and fourth brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 15,000°C, and emits a strong visible radiation.

Ares E: The fifth star, a brown dwarf with a mass of about 0.08 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 0.1 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares B at a distance of about 0.15 AU, and has a period of about 30 days. It is the fifth oldest and fifth brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 1,000°C, and emits a weak infrared radiation.

Ares F: The sixth star, a yellow dwarf with a mass of about 1 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 1 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares B at a distance of about 0.5 AU, and has a period of about 6 months. It is the sixth oldest and sixth brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 6,000°C, and emits a moderate visible radiation.

Ares G: The seventh star, a red dwarf with a mass of about 0.2 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 0.2 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares F at a distance of about 0.05 AU, and has a period of about 10 days. It is the seventh oldest and seventh brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 3,000°C, and emits a weak infrared radiation.

Ares H: The eighth star, a white dwarf with a mass of about 0.6 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 0.01 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares F at a distance of about 0.3 AU, and has a period of about 20 days. It is the eighth oldest and eighth brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 15,000°C, and emits a strong visible radiation.

Ares I: The ninth and final star, a brown dwarf with a mass of about 0.08 times that of the sun, and a diameter of about 0.1 times that of the sun. It orbits Ares F at a distance of about 0.15 AU, and has a period of about 30 days. It is the ninth oldest and ninth brightest star in the system, and the source of some of the light and heat. It has a surface temperature of about 1,000°C, and emits a weak infrared radiation.

The solar system also has several planets of different types and sizes, orbiting the various stars. These planets are named after Egyptian Gods. Some of the planets are:

Anubis: A rocky planet with a diameter of about 4,000 kilometers, slightly larger than Mercury. It orbits Ares A at a distance of about 0.4 AU, and has a period of about 4 months. It is the closest planet to the central star, and the hottest planet in the system. It has a surface temperature of over 1,000°C, and no atmosphere. It is named after the Egyptian god of mummification, who was associated with death and the afterlife.

Sekhmet: A rocky planet with a diameter of about 6,000 kilometers, slightly smaller than Venus. It orbits Ares A at a distance of about 0.8 AU, and has a period of about 8 months. It is the second closest planet to the central star, and the second hottest planet in the system. It has a surface temperature of over 500°C, and a thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. It is named after the Egyptian goddess of war, who was associated with fire and destruction.

Maat: A rocky planet with a diameter of about 10,000 kilometers, slightly smaller than Earth. It orbits Ares A at a distance of about 1.2 AU, and has a period of about 12 months. It is the third closest planet to the central star, and the most habitable planet in the system. It has a surface temperature of about 20°C, and a thick atmosphere of nitrogen and oxygen. It has liquid water on its surface, and life forms of various kinds. It is named after the Egyptian goddess of justice, who was associated with balance and harmony.

Horus: A rocky planet with a diameter of about 8,000 kilometers, slightly smaller than Venus. It orbits Ares D at a distance of about 0.4 AU, and has a period of about 4 months. It is the closest planet to the fourth star, and the brightest planet in the system. It has a surface temperature of about 100°C, and a thin atmosphere of nitrogen and carbon dioxide. It has no water on its surface, but ice caps at the poles. It is named after the Egyptian god of the sky, who was considered the son of Isis and Osiris and the ruler of the living.

Ankh: A rocky planet with a diameter of about 6,000 kilometers, slightly smaller than Venus. It orbits Nut at a distance of about 0.8 AU, and has a period of about 8 months. It is the second closest planet to the fourth star, and the second brightest planet in the system.

I’m trying to draw a picture of the orbits, so you can better understand the inner workings of the system’s complex orbital mechanics and structure.

Welcome to Project: Expanse, the Ultimate Worldbuilding Effort.

Project: Expanse is an open collaboration worldbuilding project, seeking to build an entire fictional universe. The rules are simple. You get to design and create a story for your own unique planets, stars, and other astronomical objects! You can create as many as you wish, so get thinking about the possibilities!

This project was inspired by my 100 followers contest, which was a worldbuilding contest for the Zyra Galaxy, a fictional galaxy made by me. However, I wanted to give everyone a chance to have their world included.

Therefore I am making this project open to everyone, including people outside of Pixilart!

Goodbye & Good Luck Riot KateyKhaos

Yesterday Katey posted to her twitter saying that next thursday will be her last day at Riot (so most likely Sept 16th, 2021).

Riot vient de taquiner une nouvelle peau Zyra?

La dernière page de la communauté comique "OLAF vs tout" a été publié aujourd'hui et Riot a laissé entendre quelques oeufs de Pâques possibles.

Dans la bande dessinée, OLAF est tiré dans le test d'Illaoi et passe de nombreuses bulles de l'univers de la peau, mettant en vedette Omega Squad Teemo, Renektoy, et Super Galaxy Gnar, comme il tombe. Mais on dirait qu'il y a une peau jamais vue à côté de l'officier VI.

Dans un premier temps, il ressemble à NeeKo-mais cela ne peut pas être vrai, elle n'a pas quatre oreilles. Elle a un tas de choses plumeux qui sortent de sa tête, mais ils ne sont sûrement pas qualifiés comme des oreilles.

Ça n'a aucun sens. Pourrait-il être un nouveau champion? Elle ressemble à un lapin, et un champion de lapin serait plutôt cool.

Mais, comme il s'avère, c'est Zyra. Tout s'additionne. Elle a les cheveux roux, et elle a les oreilles. Ça doit être Zyra. Elle n'a pas été le choix le plus populaire dernièrement, et on l'a à peine vu jouer sur la scène compétitive, mais c'est certainement elle.

Mais attendez une minute. Elle est habillée en policier. Elle a le chapeau, la cravate et les lunettes de badass. Il ya beaucoup d'autres peaux Zyra: Zyra Wildfire, Zyra hanté, SKT T1 Zyra, et Dragon sorcière Zyra. Mais c'est tout.

On dirait que cette BD pourrait taquiner une nouvelle peau d'officier Zyra. Elle se joindra aux rangs des officiers VI et Caitlyn, et nous pensons qu'elle ferait aussi un compagnon convenable.

Mais, d'autre part, cela pourrait juste être une bande dessinée amusante illustrée par Tom Barton-vous ne savez jamais. Les fans de la Ligue vont maintenant attendre impatiemment de voir si l'agent Zyra va frapper la faille dans un avenir proche.

I Will Lay Me Down: A Han/Leia Fanfiction

With the warmer weather comes new Han/Leia fanfic from me!

After a long H/L hiatus (I haven’t written them since Christmas!), I managed to get my writing mojo back thanks to all the lovely ladies in the Discord server. I’m sure I’m forgetting people, but special thanks to @erindarroch, @jhgraham, @jainadurron, @corellian-smuggler, @jediofgrace, @galactic-starlight, @knightedrogue, @swimmergirl71, @zyra, FranAnubis81, and @jennycbs!

This is a pre-ESB fic set on Hoth: the cold’s getting to Leia’s nose, but she isn’t doing anything about it. Han decides to take action.

Sniff. Sniff. Sniff.

Leia gritted her teeth as she worked at her data station. Why did we have to pick the coldest planet in the galaxy to set up our base? When other beings talked about the hells freezing over, she was now convinced they were talking about Hoth. Since they’d been here, the temperature had never gotten above -20 C—without the protective gear High Command scraped together in short order, the rebels would have surely froze to death.

Which is certainly what my nose is doing right now.

Leia sniffled again as she worked out coordinates on her datapad. She looked up, her eyes darting from side to side. I don’t think anyone heard me . . . She sighed. It seemed so minor, but the constant stream of mucus threatening to run down her face at any given moment annoyed her to no end. But it wasn’t just the actual sniffling—it was the sound. She was a reserved person—the Alderaani are, were, are reserved people. Combine that with a lifetime in the public eye as both a princess and a senator, and it’s safe to say she didn’t like drawing attention to herself with noises that, well, she couldn’t control.

Sniff. Leia thought back to her “princess lessons” when she was still in kindergarten with her father’s sisters. Her aunt Rouge in particular hated anything related to bodily fluids—during a particularly bad cold, she’d gently slapped Leia’s wrist whenever she sniffled or wiped her nose on the back of her hand. “Leia, that’s unbecoming of a princess!”

After that disastrous lesson, her mother had given her a silk handkerchief embroidered with her initials. “For when you need to clean yourself up and can’t escape to a ‘fresher.” Breha had smiled at her sick daughter and used the hankie to wipe her face.

Leia had still carried it with her, though she rarely used it. No matter what she was doing or who she was with, it was something that reminded her of her parents and her heritage—their everlasting faith and love in her, and the support of her people. That was what carried her through.

The day she left Alderaan to deliver the stolen Death Star plans, she was in a rush to pack a bag. As she hastily shoved the necessities in her small nerf leather suitcase, her silk handkerchief fell on the ground. Only noticing it as she headed for her bedroom door, she sighed. I’ll just grab it when I come back—

Leia gasped a little, the thought taking her aback. She swallowed and composed herself, focusing on her screen. Hoping her aunt Rouge wouldn’t strike her down for such an act, she wiped her nose delicately on the back of her hand.

Leia threw the latest mysterious handkerchief on top of the ever-growing pile on the single chair in her quarters. How in the seven hells do they keep showing up? She shook her head at the language she had used. Too much time with scoundrels.

She sat on her bed, wracking her brain with any reason as to why these presents started showing up at her door. The majority of the rebels either respected her too much or were too afraid of her to play pranks on her. The Rogues, maybe? No, this was far too easy and therefore unsatisfactory for that wild bunch.

Which left her with two options: Luke or Han. She turned over to the hankie pile and picked up a few—two were cotton, the other silk. Though Han definitely had a softer side she’d been seeing more and more of over the past year, the quality of the fabrics led her to believe Luke was the one with the special deliveries.

She tossed them back on the pile and laid down on the bed, determined to talk to him in the morning.

“Luke?” Leia slid into the seat in front of Luke’s in the mess hall. As always, he was the first person in the mess, drinking his blue milk and eating his Vakiir eggs and Panna cakes.

“Morning Leia!” He grinned and took a sip of caf. “Sleep alright?”

“I did,” she replied, absently tapping the pads of her fingers on the table. “Can I ask you something?”

“Sure, you can ask me anything!” He pushed his tray over to her, wanting to share his food with her.

Leia pushed it back. “Have you been . . . leaving me things? Outside my quarters?”

He looked taken aback. “No, not at all!”

“Are you sure? You haven’t left presents for me from time to time?”

“No!” he said, squaring his shoulders slightly. “What kind of presents have you been getting? Why would someone leave things outside your quarters?”

Leia smiled at his protectiveness. “It’s nothing bad,” she reassured him. “Whoever it is, they’ve been leaving me handkerchiefs. Nice ones, actually.” She started picking at her shirtsleeve. “Last night, they left me two cotton ones and a silk one.”

Luke relaxed his shoulders and raised an eyebrow, looking a little like Leia herself. “Sounds like whoever’s leaving those presents really cares.”

She allowed herself a small smile, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. “That doesn’t matter. At least not now. I just want to know who it is.”

He turned back to his lukewarm breakfast. “I can put out some feelers, ask the Rogues?”

“No, don’t ask them! It’ll be halfway around the base by lunch,” she replied, looking over her shoulder. “Just . . . keep your ears open for me?”

“Sure, Leia,” he grinned, taking a bite of Panna cake.

Leia was plaiting her dark hair for bed when a loud knock interrupted her.

“Your Worshipfulness?”

She huffed, a long strand of hair floating up in the air with her breath. Even with just two words, she could already feel her defenses rising up. Grabbing a robe and throwing it on, she went to the door and opened it, crossing her arms in the doorframe.

“Yes, Captain?”

He cocked an eyebrow at her half-plaited hair. “Am I interrupting something?”

“Does it matter?” she retorted, matching his eyebrow. “What can I help you with?”

He nodded towards her quarters. “Can I come in for a sec?”

She looked at him with her large brown eyes, narrowing them slightly. What does he want? After a beat, she decided he had good intentions and moved aside.

Han sauntered in, shutting the door behind him. “So a little Lantern bird told me that someone’s been leavin’ you presents outside your quarters.”

Luke . . . Leia sighed, her back towards Han. I swear I’m going to kill him. She turned around, her mouth open to deflect, when she saw him holding a purple cotton handkerchief.

Her mouth was agape for a moment before she recovered. “Where . . . Where did you get that?”

“This particular one? Or the others? Because I got this one during my last mission on Trogan.”

She closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. Why did it have to be him? Although . . . Is it really all that bad? I mean, he has been thinking of you, bringing you things—stop it, Organa! He’s leaving, he’s going away, don’t get too close . . .

Leia opened her eyes. “Why?” she finally asked.

“Because you need them,” he replied simply.

Her heart sunk deeper in her chest. Gods, why does he have to say things like that? “Han . . .”

“But clearly you haven’t been making use of them.”

His retort snapped her brain back into focus. “I didn’t ask you to bring me anything.”

“I know—”

“So why do you care if I use them or not?”

He gave her a look of disbelief. “Because they’re something you need and for some unknown reason you aren’t using any of them. I’m tryna help and something’s stopping you from taking the help, and I just wanna know why, your Highnessness!”

Leia huffed through her nose, biting back a remark that rested on the tip of her tongue. He’s pushing your buttons, Organa. “Because . . . it’s not . . . princess-like!”

He gaped at her. “Not princess-like? Sweetheart, we’re in the middle of a war, on a kriffing cold—”

“It’s not like that! You wouldn’t understand,” she sighed, plopping down on her stool and plaiting her hair again.

“Try me,” he challenged, placing himself where he knew she could still see him.

She set her brush down on the counter and leaned back in her chair. “I can’t—It’s not—” Leia clenched her teeth, annoyed with herself. “It’s not that simple.”

“What isn’t?”

“This!” she exclaimed, waving her arms around. She let out a breath and placed her hands on her thighs, trying to put her sentences together. “You’re in the cold, your nose runs, you wipe it or blow it, right?”

He frowned. “Right.”

“When you’re Alderaani, especially when you’re Alderaani royalty, it’s . . . not what you do. We’re a reserved people, we don’t like drawing attention to ourselves with bodily fluids or anything like that. With royalty, it’s even worse. We don’t show things like that to the public—not because we’re ashamed, but because it’s just protocol. It’s in line with our culture.”

Han nodded, letting her words sink in. “But Leia, we aren’t on Alderaan, things are different,” he replied.

She winced a little. “That’s the problem. I know things are different now, but I can’t—It’s ingrained—It’s not something we do.”

He leaned against the desk in front of her. “You’re afraid of letting go of Alderaan,” he rumbled.

Leia’s palms started sweating. “They are—were—my people,” she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. “I owe it to them to try, to not forget.”

“Adapting isn’t forgetting,” he murmured. “No one here will think less of you for doing what you have to do.”

She swallowed. “I know it seems silly—”

“It isn’t,” he replied automatically.

Leia glanced at the handkerchief still in his hand. “My mother gave me a silk handkerchief when I was a girl. I had a cold and my Aunt Rouge kept getting mad when I wiped my nose on my hand.”

Han’s eyes widened for a moment, but didn’t say anything.

“It was like keeping my parents close—no matter what I was doing, how hard it was, I always had them. I knew who I was, what I represented, and I could always go back to them.”

She looked up at him with her large brown eyes. “I don’t know how to live without Alderaan,” she confided.

His hand twitched on his thigh. “I know,” he whispered.

Even though he didn’t truly know what it was like to lose a planet, Leia knew he was sincere—he did know how hard this was for her. She curled up into her seat. “I almost don’t want to move on, because that means . . . acknowledging it’s gone.”

“Leia,” he murmured. “Blowing your nose won’t make you forget Alderaan.”

She almost smirked at the absurdity of the sentence. “You think so?”

“The planet might be gone, but Alderaan still lives in you and all the other survivors. And adapting to the cold won’t take away from your culture.”

She rested her forehead on her knees as she listened to him. “In my head, I know you’re right, but all of it still feels gone.”

“Nothing’s ever really gone.”

She looked up at him.

“Not in your heart, at least.”

He straightened up and placed the purple cotton handkerchief in her hand, quietly leaving her quarters.

The next day on base, the temperature seemed to have dropped ten degrees—certainly not the best weather for sitting at a data desk doing data analysis. After spending the last half hour staring at the same coordinates while shivering, Leia decided it was high time for a short walk around the base.

Taking the time to stretch her legs for a moment, she started at a brisk pace, finding herself walking towards the hangar. But just before she made it there, her nose started running at the same pace as her legs.

She stopped for a moment, trying to sniffle it back. Unfortunately for her, it had a mind of its own and kept going. A few more sniffles later, she realized it wasn’t stopping any time soon. Leia felt around her pocket, finding the handkerchief Han had left in her hand the night before.

“Take too close of a step and you’ll get fried,” Zyra warned, eyes also narrowing at Twila. She didn’t take kindly to threats. “I don’t know how many volts are running through this piece of junk, but it’s enough for me to pick up that you shouldn’t touch it, or me for that matter.” As if to emphasize this fact, a few electric blue bits of lightning crackled in her hair before trickling down her arms and back through the ship. This girl had no idea if Twila’s race could stand the amount of electricity Zyra could, but if so, then, well, she’ll learn something new, I guess.

“And I’m on no one’s side except my own, and last I checked, Andranos has no quarrel with your people. I don’t even think we knew your planet or galaxy until now. Either that or I just never cared. It’s probably both.” Yeah, Zyra never cared much about what other planets in other dimensions did, not did she care about the many different types of Earths that existed in just about every dimension. Yeah, Earth seemed to pop up in every dimension they hopped into; it was weird, but they just accepted it.

At least Zyra hadn’t at all thought to do the whole bowing thing, mostly because no one did that on her planet. She knew that some people on some planets did the whole bowing thing, but it definitely didn’t happen on hers. “I’m aiming to be out of your hair soon anyway. My mission’s to Earth, not here.”

“I do too have a nose-!” Zyra of course was quick to defend her appearance, even if this was a rather silly thing to get defensive over, especially since these two had clearly never seen an Andranosian like herself before. Then again, not many people really saw her kind these days, seeing as they usually just tried to stay on their planet save for the occasional missions they’d go on in an attempt to track down any information related to their current enemy. But, because these two hadn’t ever seen an Andranosian, it essentially meant that Zyra would have to make a good first impression, and that… Well, that would be hard, because this asocial Traveler was not very good at making nice first-impressions.

Eventually, Zyra pulled herself out of her ship a bit more until she was sitting on the half-opened door, her arms crossed as she stared at the two aliens, but once again focusing on Regina. “Not fully human… Are you a sort of hybrid?” Now this would be a first for her. Then again, this whole situation was a first for her, so that wasn’t very surprising. Despite all of this though, at least the ship and her own personal translator devices were working; otherwise she’d be unable to understand the two, but now she’d realized something: Could the two understand her? After all, Zyra’s personal communication devices only translated words others were speaking to her, though her ship did emanate a sort of field that would translate both Zyra’s words as well as Regina and Twilas’ words into their respective languages. Hopefully the ship’s translation device was actually working; otherwise, Zyra would have to dig around the ship for a portable yet more annoying speech translator, and she just didn’t feel like doing that right now. “Can you understand me?”

League of Legends patch 10.8 notes – Coven skins and Jungle item changes

Happy April Fools, League of Legends fans! March is behind us, LoL patch 10.7 is on the live servers, and League of Legends Galaxies 2020 has begun, bringing a raft of new challenges, out-of-this-world skins, and plenty of other goodies to Riot's flagship MOBA. Alongside all this, the testing cycle continues - so let's take a look at what's in store for LoL patch 10.8.

First up, the Eclipse universe makes a return this update, with several new skins up for testing on the multiplayer game's PBE. Good news if you're a LeBlanc, Morgana, or Zyra fan - there are some gorgeous new skins from the Coven line on the way, with a Prestige Edition for Zyra. Plus, Coven Morgana has got a brand-new voiceover. You can take a good look at all of this in the Champion skins section below.

There's already a handful of balance changes to check out, too, though only for Jungle items at this stage. Hunter's Talisman, Hunter's Machete, Stalker's Blade, and Skirmisher's Sabre have all got new effects to boost their healing when health drops a little low.

The Zyra Galaxy is a spiral galaxy roughly 0.94 times the size of the Milky Way Galaxy. It has 4 major arms, and 8 minor arms. The galaxy is far younger than the Milky Way, and is a major site of active star formation. The Zyra galaxy is home to many wonders and sights, such as stars, planets, black holes, and nebulae.

The 4 major arms are as follows, listed clockwise. The Cassandra Arm, the Icarus Arm, the Hephaestus Arm, and the Apollo Arm. The minor arms are designed by the arms they are located between. They are the Cassandra-Icarus Arm, the Icarus-Cassandra Arm, the Icarus-Hephaestus Arm, the Hephaestus-Icarus Arm, the Hephaestus-Apollo Arm, the Apollo-Hephaestus Arm, the Apollo-Cassandra Arm, and the Cassandra-Apollo Arm.

The 4 major arms each have a distinct space-scape, each with unique characteristics not shared by the others.

The Cassandra Arm is where most of the star formation is occurring. It’s stars are all young, bright and massive, or they are mature, and entering their final death throes. This Arm is home to rare elements, and wondrous sights such as nebulae and black holes. It also directly connects to the galactic center of the Zyra galaxy.

The Icarus Arm has a rich, dense population of stars that are extremely close together. The Icarus Arm contains more stars than all the other arms in the galaxy. It has a diverse array of stars, many of which have planets orbiting them. The most notable feature of the Icarus Arm is a planetary system with 9 suns.

The Hephaestus Arm is a home to countless red, orange, and brown dwarf stars. It has large, widespread gas clouds surrounding it, made of hydrogen and helium. Due to the unstable flaring of the stars, new matter cannot enter stars. However, most stars in the Hephaestus arm have planets, but they orbit far too close to their home star to support life.

The Apollo arm contains mostly main-sequence stars, ranging from 0.5 solar masses to 3.5 solar masses. Stars here usually have 5-12 planets orbiting them. There are also several binary and triple star pairs.
