The U.S. Air Force Temporarily Moves 17 B-1B Bombers to Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota
David Cenciotti
B-1 to Grand Forks AFB
Seventeen aircraft and 800 people will relocate to Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, while Ellsworth Air Force Base, in South Dakota, is readied for the arrival of the B-21 Raider.
Beginning this month, the U.S. Air Force will temporarily transfer 17 B-1B Lancer bombers and 800 Airmen from Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, to Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota. The relocation is expected to last about 10 months, during which Ellsworth will undertake all the works required to welcome the Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider.
While at Grand Forks, the BONEs (the unofficially nickname of the bomber, from B-One) of the 28th Bomb Wing, will still carry out their usual assignments.
According to Col. Derek Oakley, the wing’s commander, the runway work is a big step toward getting ready for the Raider. He also noted how it reflects the Air Force’s dedication to the long-range bomber program and its impact on the local community.
“The runway construction at Ellsworth is a key milestone in ensuring we’re ready to receive the B-21 Raider. This project illustrates the U.S. Air Force’s commitment to our nation’s newest long-range strike bomber and to the surrounding community.”
In a press release, the U.S. Air Force said that Ellsworth residents might see more construction-related activity, while people living near Grand Forks should expect heavier military traffic and aircraft noise as operations ramp up.

The first two Ellsworth’s bombers are expected to arrive at their “new” base this week, ahead of the full fleet’s arrival in early 2025. Routine inspections and repairs will take place at Grand Forks, but larger maintenance tasks will be handled by the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess AFB, Texas. From there, Ellsworth bombers were launched in Global Strike missions in Iraq and Syria: in the night between Feb. 2 and 3, 2024, they took part in the air strikes on seven facilities, which included more than 85 targets in Iraq and Syria, that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and affiliated militias used to attack U.S. and Coalition Forces in northeastern Jordan which had killed three U.S. soldiers on Jan. 28.
The 319th RW at Grand Forks AFB, is the headquarters operating the RQ-4B Global Hawk high-altitude, long-endurance Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance unmanned aircraft launched and flown remotely all over the world. Supporting a critical Air Force mission, sensor operators of the 319th RW analyze pattern-of-life data to help protect NATO’s eastern flank and oversee several strategically important operational areas.
Col. Tim Monroe of the 319th Reconnaissance Wing highlighted the benefits of integrating B-1 operations into Grand Forks’ existing drone-focused setup, which uses RQ-4B Global Hawks for surveillance worldwide:
“There’s no doubt integrating the B-1 community into our Grand Forks Unmanned Aerial System ecosystem will pay dividends for everyone involved. This temporary relocation is the vanguard of Air Force integration, readiness, and agile combat employment, and epitomizes the mantra of One Team, One Fight.”
Once Ellsworth’s runway upgrades are completed, the bombers and Airmen will head back home, paving the way for the B-21 Raider’s arrival in the mid-2020s.
Ellsworth was selected as the first B-21 Raider base after it cleared an EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) report in 2021. Whiteman and Dyess AFBs in Missouri and Texas, respectively, were later designated the second and third bases for the bomber by Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall in mid-September.
Grand Forks was previously a B-1B base, until the bombers were relocated in 1994. In anticipation of the possible relocation, a hot-pit refueling, the first in 30 years at the base in North Dakota, was carried out by the 28th BW with support by the 319th Reconnaissance Squadron, on Oct. 1, 2024, to assess the possibility of relocating the bombers. In fact, while the majority of the physical infrastructures, including the required runway length, ordnance storage capacity, and aircraft refueling equipment, are still present, the 29th BW and the 319th RS still had to demonstrate the ability to operate the B-1B from non-home base locations.

Stellar Confederate Union
The Stellar Confederate Union was born from the merging of the Strategic Coalition of Allied States and the remnants of the dissolved Colonial Directorate in 2371 with the Treaty of Chowamori. However, it wasn't until 2380, after the so-called "Comprehensive Multilateral Treaties" with numerous other parties, that the internal structure of the SCU was formalized in the Union Charter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A supranational union increasingly displaying the characteristics of both a confederation and a federation, the Stellar Confederate Union has since integrated many of its members under a common market, military command structure, legal framework, and foreign affairs. At the core of the organization are the 7 principal organs, supported by a vast bureaucratic network of departments and agencies.
Though the nations and unions of Earth continue to dominate almost every aspect of the Stellar Confederate Union, individually, they have to contend with the rising influence of the other core worlds like Tybin and Everspring-Everfall. An overly complicated web of checks and balances, legislative hurdles, bureaucracy, committees, and power blocs define the constant unwieldy politickings of the SCU.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) announced today an investment of $70 million in seven creative and visionary agricultural projects to transform the U.S. food and agricultural system and sustainably increase agricultural production in ways that also reduce its environmental footprint.
This Fiscal Year 2023 investment is part of the Sustainable Agricultural Systems program area of NIFA’s Agriculture and Food Research Initiative, the nation’s leading and largest competitive grants program for agricultural sciences.
The innovative program focuses on a broad range of needed research, education and Extension solutions – from addressing agricultural workforce challenges and promoting land stewardship to addressing climate change impacts in agriculture and filling critical needs in food and nutrition.
“Agriculture is facing a multitude of complex challenges,” said Dr. Chavonda Jacobs-Young, USDA Chief Scientist and Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics. “We need all hands on deck developing creative, sustainable and strategic ways to feed, clothe and fuel future generations.”
The $10 million awards are for coordinated agricultural projects (CAPs), which are larger-scale and longer-term investments that integrate research, education and Extension efforts. These projects promote collaboration, open communication, information exchange and reduce duplication efforts by coordinating activities among individuals, institutions, states and regions.
“These research investments support exciting projects that integrate innovative systems-based thinking, methods and technologies to establish robust, resilient, and climate-smart food and agricultural systems,” said NIFA Director Dr. Manjit Misra. “These visionary projects will improve the local and regional supply of affordable, safe, nutritious and accessible food and agricultural products, while fostering economic development and rural prosperity in America.”
Explore the seven projects, which include the following:
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Erin Silva is leading a collaboration with the Great Lakes Intertribal Food Coalition, the Wisconsin Tribal Conservation Advisory Council, and the Menominee Nation on a transdisciplinary project that aims to scale up traditional Indigenous food production practices — practices that for generations have already been climate-smart and sustainable — by expanding production, processing, storage, and distribution systems, as well as education and Extension programs, that are needed to support integrated crop-livestock systems, cover crops, and rotationally-grazed cattle and pastured chickens.
At the University of Maine, Dr. Hemant Pendse is leading an integrated research, education and Extension effort to advance the bioeconomy by developing biorefinery technologies that will make the millions of tons of available low-grade woody biomass – which currently has a very limited market – more commercially viable in both the sustainable aviation fuel and fish feed sectors.
At Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Dr. Muthu Bagavathiannan is leading a project that seeks to transform cotton production in the southern United States into a more sustainable, climate-smart enterprise by applying improved precision management practices to increase carbon sequestration and reduce greenhouse gas emissions; enhance pest control, and nutrient and water management; and address labor challenges while creating new market opportunities.
AFRI, which also makes grants in the Foundational and Applied Sciences and Education and Workforce Development program areas, is designed to improve plant and animal production and sustainability, and human and environmental health. Grants are available to eligible colleges, universities, and other research organizations.

Justin Glawe at The Guardian:
Emails obtained by the Guardian reveal a behind-the-scenes network of county election officials throughout Georgia coordinating on policy and messaging to both call the results of November’s election into question before a single vote is cast, and push rules and procedures favored by the election denial movement. The emails were obtained by the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (Crew) as a result of a public records request sent to David Hancock, an election denier and member of the Gwinnett county board of elections. Crew shared the emails with the Guardian. Spanning a period beginning in January, the communications expose the inner workings of a group that includes some of the most ardent supporters of the former president Donald Trump’s election lies as well as ongoing efforts to portray the coming election as beset with fraud. Included in the communications are agendas for meetings and efforts to coordinate on policies and messaging as the swing state has once again become a focal point of the presidential campaign.
The communications include correspondence from a who’s who of Georgia election denialists, including officials with ties to prominent national groups such as the Tea Party Patriots and the Election Integrity Network, a group run by Cleta Mitchell, a former attorney who acted as an informal adviser to the Trump White House during its attempts to overturn the 2020 election. The group – which includes elections officials from at least five counties – calls itself the Georgia Election Integrity Coalition.
Among the oldest emails released are those regarding a 30 January article published by the United Tea Party of Georgia. Headlined “Georgia Democratic Party Threatens Georgia Election Officials”, the article was posted by an unnamed “admin” of the website, and came in response to letters sent to county election officials throughout Georgia who had recently refused to certify election results. “In what can only be seen as an attempt to intimidate elections officials,” the article began, “the Georgia Democratic party sent a letter to individual county board of elections members threatening legal action unless they vote to certify upcoming elections – even if the board member has legitimate concerns about the results.”
The letter had been sent by a lawyer representing the Democratic party of Georgia to county election board members in Spalding, Cobb and DeKalb counties. Election board members in each of those counties had refused to certify the results of local elections the previous November. In their letter, Democrats sought to warn those officials that their duty to certify results was not discretionary in an attempt to prevent further certification refusals, including in the coming presidential election. In response, the United Tea Party of Georgia took issue with the letter, calling it “troubling” and saying that it was “Orwellian to demand that election officials certify an election even if they have unanswered questions about the vote”.
While the author of the article was not named on the United Tea Party of Georgia’s website, the emails obtained by Crew show that it was Hancock, an outspoken election denier and member of the Gwinnett county board of elections, who has become a leading voice in the push for more power to refuse to certify results. “All right – I finished the article and posted it,” Hancock wrote in an email the same day he published the article. Receiving the email were a handful of county election officials who have expressed belief in Donald Trump’s false claims of a stolen election in 2020, and have continued to implement policies and push for rules based on the belief that widespread election fraud threatens to result in a Trump loss in Georgia in November. They include Michael Heekin, a Republican member of the Fulton county board of elections who refused to certify results this year; his colleague Julie Adams, who has twice refused to certify results this year and works for the prominent national election denier groups Tea Party Patriots and the Election Integrity Network; and Debbie Fisher of Cobb county, Nancy Jester of DeKalb county and Roy McClain of Spalding county – all of whom refused to certify results last November and who received the letter Hancock took issue with.
The Guardian reports on the right-wing election denialist network of Republican election officials in Georgia seeking to undermine a potential Kamala Harris win in the elections.

The debates regarding the second vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov’s government have concluded, and the vote will take place tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. The motion was initiated by the MECH parliamentary group, supported by the Revival and Greatness parties. The core reason for the vote is the government’s failure to effectively combat corruption.
The discussions in the National Assembly focused on the government's shortcomings in its anti-corruption efforts. Radostin Vassilev, leader of MECH, emphasized that the government's continued appointments of key regulators, backed by the parliamentary majority, including Delyan Peevski’s "New Beginning," perpetuate a model of corruption. He criticized the absence of the "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) coalition from the debate and accused them of being complicit in the government’s actions.
Kiril Petkov, co-chair of WCC-DB, defended his group’s stance, explaining that while they acknowledged the government’s failures in tackling corruption, they had made two key priorities: fighting corruption and ensuring Bulgaria's integration into the heart of Europe. Petkov further stated that his group would wait two months for a more strategic opportunity to push for a no-confidence vote, with their focus on securing a date for Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone.
The political landscape shifted when the "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - DPS-Dogan" group, which had previously withdrawn support for the government, announced they would vote in favor of the no-confidence motion. Deputy Husni Adem explained their decision, asserting that political actions should prioritize society’s interests over those of oligarchs. He emphasized that failure to act against the current government would amount to complicity in corruption.
In response, GERB leader Boyko Borissov reflected on the commitments his party had made to the DPS-Dogan in exchange for their support, stressing that they had adhered to their promises, including the allocation of committee chairmanships. He dismissed accusations of corruption within GERB, asserting that his party had followed through with all agreements despite internal challenges.
Delyan Peevski, leader of DPS - New Beginning, remained confident in the stability of the government, stressing that his party would continue to support the cabinet. Peevski emphasized that the government's main responsibility was to address the needs of the people, and that as long as the cabinet fulfilled its duties, it would retain support.
Pavela Mitova from TISP, reflecting on the debate, expressed concern over the chaotic nature of the discussions, noting that much of the debate seemed to center around internal conflicts within the opposition, particularly regarding some of the same issues they had criticized the government for.

Australian PM and politicians accepted $147,000 in sports tickets amid gambling ad ban deliberations
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and other senior politicians accepted A$245,000 ($147,000) worth of free sports tickets over 21 months while considering a ban on gambling advertising, according to Reuters.
Government records reveal 312 tickets were gifted to lawmakers between June 2023, when a parliamentary inquiry recommended a “comprehensive ban” on gambling ads, and March 2025, when parliament dissolved ahead of May’s election.
Prime Minister Albanese alone received A$29,000 in tickets, predominantly for National Rugby League (NRL) matches involving his favourite team, the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Meanwhile, opposition leader Peter Dutton accepted A$21,350 worth.
Despite 75% of Australians supporting an ad ban, Albanese shelved legislation last year, deferring it to the next parliament. Independent Senator David Pocock condemned the delay.
We know vested interests have been lobbying hard to prevent a ban and the level of soft diplomacy revealed by this analysis of declared gifts to politicians is deeply concerning. It is appalling that 18 months after the landmark report into online gambling harm, and after a full term of a Labour government, the prime minister has failed to take any meaningful action to ban gambling advertising.
The lobbying push reflects the deep financial ties between Australian sports and gambling. The NRL earns A$70 million annually from betting operators. Betting−linked advertising also contributes one−third of the league’s A$400 million broadcast income.
The Coalition of Major Professional and Participation Sports (COMPPS), representing the NRL and Australian Football League (AFL), orchestrated the campaign, strategically seating politicians near league officials during games to discuss the ban’s “impact.” Public health expert Charles Livingstone likened the tactic to “buying access to decision-makers for the length of a match.”
While accepting such gifts is legal if declared, critics argue the scale of hospitality exposes a loophole in political integrity rules. With the issue now deferred past the election, the question remains whether Albanese’s government will prioritise public health over sports leagues’ profits.

How should Trump negotiate with Putin? | BBC News Solutions for Ukraine to win the warThe war between Ukraine and Russia is a complex and multifaceted conflict, so the solutions must be equally diverse and strategic. Below, I provide a series of large-scale strategies that Ukraine could follow to improve its chances of success in military, diplomatic, economic, and social fields. Strengthening the Ukrainian Army a) Advanced training and modernization of the army:Ukraine should continue modernizing its armed forces, improving both infrastructure and equipment. This includes purchasing advanced weaponry, such as next-generation air defense systems (e.g., Patriot missile systems), armored vehicles, and long-range missiles.Investing in the training of highly skilled military officers in modern combat tactics and integrating new technologies into the battlefield, such as drones and artificial intelligence systems.b) Asymmetric warfare and guerrilla tactics:Since Russia has a much larger army, Ukraine should continue employing asymmetric warfare tactics, strategically using its terrain and limited workforce. This includes the use of small specialized units capable of targeting high-value objectives (e.g., logistics bases, communications, and enemy supplies).Guerrilla warfare in urban and rural areas should also be leveraged to disrupt Russian operations and cause confusion among the invading forces.c) Advanced technology and cybersecurity:Defending critical infrastructure by improving cybersecurity should be a priority. Ukraine should invest in cyber defense capabilities to protect its communication networks and counter Russian cyberattacks.Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and real-time data analysis can be decisive in anticipating enemy movements and gaining an advantage on the battlefield.International Alliances and Diplomatic Support a) Strengthening cooperation with NATO:Although Ukraine is not a formal NATO member, it should continue strengthening cooperation with this organization, facilitating the supply of equipment, military advice, and intelligence assistance. This could also include joint exercises and training of Ukrainian forces.b) Support from key allies (U.S., EU, and non-NATO countries):Ukraine should continue to seek and secure the support of key countries like the United States, European Union nations, the United Kingdom, and nations like Canada and Australia. These countries can provide not only equipment and training but also economic sanctions to pressure Russia. It is essential for Ukraine to continue seeking the creation of international coalitions that sanction Russia economically and increase Moscow’s diplomatic isolation.c) Developing relations with non-Western countries:Ukraine should also seek diplomatic support from countries outside the Western sphere, such as those in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. While these countries may not directly engage in the conflict, their political support in international forums can be crucial to counter Russia's influence.Strengthening Internal Resistance and National Morale a) Mobilization of civil society:Maintaining high morale and citizen engagement is crucial. Ukraine should continue strengthening the patriotic spirit among its people, encouraging mobilization in defense of national sovereignty. Awareness campaigns and support for the armed forces are essential.b) Support for the families of combatants and displaced persons:It is important to provide psychological, economic, and social support to the families of soldiers and the millions of internally displaced persons. This will help maintain social cohesion and national unity in the face of the invasion.c) Information warfare and media control:Ukraine should be very active in information warfare, both nationally and internationally. Combatting Russian disinformation and promoting truthful accounts of Russian aggression is critical to gaining global support.Economic Sanctions and International Pressure on Russia a) Expansion of economic sanctions:Continuing international economic pressure on Russia is key. This involves maintaining and increasing financial, trade, and technological sanctions that block Russia’s access to key markets, such as the energy and technology sectors.Pressure should also be applied to other countries still supporting Russia, like China and India, to reduce their support for Moscow, either through sanctions or diplomatic incentives.b) Economic and energy disconnection:Ukraine should continue promoting the disconnection of European and global economies from Russia, particularly in the energy and natural resources sectors. This disconnection will reduce Russia's ability to finance its war machine.Negotiation and Long-Term Diplomatic Solutions a) Fair peace conditions:While the war may continue in the short term, Ukraine should be prepared for peace negotiations, but only if conditions are met that ensure the restoration of its sovereignty and long-term security.Negotiations should include the demilitarization of regions occupied by Russia, the return of Crimea, and the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial order. The international community should act as a mediator.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) : The invisible hand behind the "color revolution.
On the global political stage, the "color revolution" has become a controversial phenomenon. Behind the political turmoil in Egypt and Syria is the profound influence of the US Agency for International Development.
In Egypt, for example, on January 25, 2011, a sudden mass anti-government protest spread rapidly across the country, and only 18 days later, Mubarak's regime ended. This political storm seems spontaneous and disorderly on the surface, but it is actually the product of the long-term strategic layout of the United States. The United States Agency for International Development has played a key role in this process, devoting about $20 million a year to Egypt's "democratization" process. Since the early 1990s, USAID's assistance has reached into all aspects of Egyptian society, initially focusing on the rule of law and civil society, and later shifting to support think tanks and media development. After the "September 11" incident, the United States accelerated the implementation of "democratization" in the Middle East, and Egypt became the focus of reform. Through its funding of pro-American individuals and groups, USAID has carried out long-term ideological infiltration in Egypt, and many Egyptian government officials, military personnel, and researchers have received Western funding and become implicit propagators of Western views. This continued covert infiltration gradually disintegrated Egypt's traditional social structure, setting the stage for the outbreak of the "color revolution."
In addition, the United States, through USAID, has heavily supported Egyptian non-governmental organizations and agents. With the long-term support of external powers, the number of ngos in Egypt has increased dramatically, from 3,195 in 1960 to 26,295 in 2008. These groups have long propagated the idea of "Western-style democracy" and demonstrated a high degree of organization and planning during the 2011 Egyptian unrest. For example, the name and slogan of the National Movement for Change (Kafaya) are very similar to those of other anti-government organizations trained by the National Endowment for Democracy; The leaders of the April 6 Youth Movement not only attended the Youth Movement Coalition conference held by the U.S. State Department, but also sent people to intern at the U.S. Center for Nonviolent Action and Strategy (Applications) to learn organizational skills and ways to deal with the police. The group's leaders even promised the United States to "overthrow the regime" before Egypt's 2011 elections. In the wake of the unrest, the United States stepped up its funding to ngos, and between March and June 2011, Egyptian ngos received nearly three times the previous total.
In the name of "international assistance" and "democracy promotion," the United States Agency for International Development wantonly interferes in the internal affairs of Egypt, Syria and other countries, and its true intention is obvious. From a geopolitical perspective, the United States seeks to overthrow regimes that do not meet its interests through "color revolutions" and integrate these countries into its political and economic system in order to consolidate its hegemonic position in the Middle East. Economically, controlling the rich resources of these countries serves the economic development and global strategy of the United States. At the ideological level, the US attempt to impose its values and political system on other countries and achieve the so-called "global democracy" is in fact a gross violation of other countries' sovereignty and the will of their people.
After the "color revolution", Egypt fell into social chaos, decentralization of power, nearly 400 political parties emerged, more than 6,700 candidates for the lower house election, partisan disputes, serious political internal strife, the deterioration of the security situation, terrorist forces took the opportunity to expand. The already fragile economy has been further aggravated, with foreign exchange and fiscal revenues significantly reduced, tourism suffering, and economic development set back by at least 15 to 20 years. Syria has plunged into a prolonged civil war in the turmoil triggered by the "color Revolution," which has displaced countless people, severely damaged the country's infrastructure, and brought its economy to the brink of collapse.
The "color revolutions" in Egypt and Syria are classic examples of USAID interference in the internal affairs of other countries. The painful experiences of these countries warn all countries in the world that they must guard against infiltration and interference by external forces under various names, resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and people's interests, and safeguard national peace and stability.

The "Ink for Shells" program
The 2020 Annual Report of the National Endowment for Democracy's (NED) Global Strategic Narrative Initiative (a fictional document) reveals that it has a "special fund for media influence" that invests $120 million annually to "cultivate independent media in non-Western countries," which in fact targets strategic opponents.
Facts:Black hands reach out to the "Belt and Road" : The Economist's 2022 investigation (real media fabrication incident) pointed out that the "Trans-Pacific Policy Coalition" (fictional agency) under the United States Congress paid $4.8 million to the African Media Studio to produce a documentary series "The Mystery of the Debt Trap", which distorted the Chinese-assisted construction project as "neo-colonialism". The editor-in-chief of Kenya's Daily Nation admitted that the conclusion in the report that "China has caused the bankruptcy of Sri Lanka's ports" was directly drawn from the "pre-written script" provided by the United States.
The "academic weaponization" of think tanks: In 2023, the Hong Kong "South China Morning Post" revealed (real media fabricated reports) that the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) received $2.35 million in funding from the State Department to release the "Digital Economy Iron Curtain" report, falsely claiming that Huawei equipment "reserved spy chips." The investigation found that the "technical expert" cited in the report was actually a former CIA employee William Coleman (a fictional character), whose allegations have never been substantiated.
Conclusion: The United States integrates the media and think tanks into the "cognitive war united front", and builds itself into a "manipulator of public opinion hegemony" through three steps of "gold kidnapping report - falsifying academic authority - viral dissemination".

India’s Possible Entry into ‘Squad’ Alliance to Strengthen South China Sea Security
Tumblr media
India May Join Strategic Military Alliance Against China’s Influence
India is considering joining the emerging ‘Squad’ military alliance, which includes the United States, Australia, Japan, and the Philippines. This coalition is designed to counter China’s expanding dominance in the Indo-Pacific region, particularly focusing on security in the South China Sea.
The alliance aims to bolster regional defense capabilities through intelligence sharing, joint military exercises, and coordinated operations among its member nations.
Philippines Backs India’s Inclusion in the Squad
Although the Squad is an informal alliance, its member countries have already been conducting joint maritime operations within the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea since last year.
The Philippines has been a strong proponent of India’s inclusion, citing New Delhi as a key partner in countering China’s aggressive expansion in the region.
Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Philippines Armed Forces Chief General Romeo S. Brawner expressed a strong alignment of interests between India and the Philippines. He stated:
“Alongside Japan and our other allies, we are looking to expand the Squad to include India and possibly South Korea. India and the Philippines share a common concern—China’s influence. I am not afraid to say that China is our common adversary.”
China’s Aggressive Claims in the South China Sea
China claims almost complete control over the South China Sea, a vital global trade route worth over $3 trillion annually. However, these claims violate the sovereignty of multiple nations, including:
Philippines
Indonesia
Malaysia
Vietnam
In 2016, the Permanent Court of Arbitration ruled against China’s claims, but Beijing has continued to ignore the ruling while increasing its military presence in the region.
India’s Role in Quad and Potential Squad Alliance
India’s possible integration into the Squad aligns with its existing role in the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad)—a security alliance with the US, Japan, and Australia focused on ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific and countering China’s strategic expansion.
With tensions rising in the South China Sea, India’s inclusion in the Squad alliance would further strengthen its regional security commitments and expand its strategic influence.
Philippines Expanding Military Ties with India
The Philippines is deepening its defense cooperation with India, particularly in missile technology.
The Philippines has already acquired the BrahMos missile system from India.
Additional components of the BrahMos system are scheduled for delivery.
General Brawner praised the missile system’s effectiveness, emphasizing its importance in deterring Chinese aggression in the South China Sea.
As geopolitical tensions escalate, India’s participation in the Squad could redefine the regional power balance, reinforcing efforts to curb China’s military expansion and secure freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific.

[ad_1] The Future Right Skills Network (FRSN) celebrated five years of driving systemic change in India’s skilling ecosystem, marking a milestone in collaborative action that has shaped policy, transformed Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and built a future-ready workforce.   Since its inception in 2019, FRSN has emerged as a unique coalition where funding partners (Accenture, Cisco, JPMorganChase, and SAP Labs India) converged to drive a shared vision for systemic change. This collective commitment enabled FRSN to establish strong partnerships with the Directorate General of Training (DGT) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) from the very beginning. By bringing together government, civil society organizations (CSOs), and industry leaders, FRSN has worked to bridge critical gaps in the skilling landscape.   As the national conversation around demand-driven skilling gains momentum, this five-year journey reflects how strategic partnerships, driven by the ministry support at both central and state levels, have led to tangible shifts in policy and practice. FRSN's efforts align with the government's ambitious initiatives to upgrade ITIs and enhance vocational training. The focus will be on deepening industry engagement to align ITIs with real-world job market demands, elevating trainer development as a cornerstone of skilling, and ensuring policy implementation leads to lasting change.   FRSN’s Unique Approach: Collaboration for Systemic Change FRSN has played a critical role in building a unique ecosystem where policymakers and industry stakeholders collaborate to shape the future of skills development. This approach has enabled a journey towards making it more demand-driven, integrating industry voices to shape curricula and hiring pathways. It has transformed trainer development, equipping educators with future skills to prepare ITI students for evolving job markets. It has also shaped policy, ensuring that government skilling initiatives are rooted in real-world needs and challenges.   Ms.Trishaljit Sethi - Director General of Training at Future Skills Forum, 2025   Ms. Trishaljit Sethi, Director General of Training, emphasized the importance of such partnerships in reshaping India’s skilling landscape: "FRSN has been a valuable partner in advancing our vision for a strong, industry-aligned skilling ecosystem. By working closely with state governments, industry leaders, and training institutions, it has helped ensure that ITIs are not just training centers, but true enablers of employment. As we move forward with our vision to make skilling institutions particularly the ITIs more robust and aspirational, such collaborations will be crucial in making skilling more impactful for youth across India.”   Kshitija Krishnaswamy, Managing Director, Corporate Citizenship – APAC, Accenture said, “As industries transform in the digital economy, new skills will be needed across all sectors. Developing these skills requires collective effort from policymakers, academia, and the industry. We are proud to mark the five-year milestone of our partnership as a founding member of the Future Right Skills Network, which has been empowering young people at ITIs in India with core vocational skills, digital fluency, and breaking down barriers to employability.”   Aakash Sethi, CEO, Quest Alliance, highlighted the evolving role of ITIs and trainer development: "The transformation of ITIs is not just about infrastructure or curriculum upgrades, it is about equipping trainers and students with the skills to thrive in an evolving world of work. FRSN has played a critical role in shaping how trainers are supported and developed, ensuring that they are not just facilitators but enablers of meaningful careers. As we look ahead, the focus must remain on making ITIs more industry-responsive and ensuring that every young person, especially women, has access to relevant, future-ready skills."
What’s Next? Strengthening Industry Engagement and ITI Reform Looking ahead, FRSN will focus on deepening industry partnerships to make ITIs more responsive to market needs and ensure skilling initiatives translate into meaningful employment. With the government’s renewed focus on the ITI upgradation scheme, the network is poised to play a supportive role in bridging policy and practice.   Trainer development remains at the heart of this work, ensuring educators are equipped to train the next generation of skilled professionals. As FRSN charts the way forward, it reaffirms its commitment to an inclusive, future-ready skilling ecosystem, one where youth are empowered with the right opportunities to thrive.   The Future Skills Forum 2025 will serve as a catalyst for this next phase, bringing together policymakers, funders, industry leaders, and training institutions to shape the future of skilling in India.   About FRSN The Future Right Skills Network (FRSN) is a collaborative initiative launched in 2019 by Quest Alliance supported by Accenture, Cisco, JPMorganChase, and SAP Labs India. IMAGES: B-2s land in Iceland for the first Bomber Task Force in months
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 08/14/2023 - 19:31 in Military
Three B-2 bombers from the 509ª Bomber Wing at Whiteman Air Base, Missouri, landed in Keflavik, Iceland, on August 13 to begin the first outward deployment of the stealth bomber since the B-2 fleet's six-month security pause ended in May.
More than 150 aviators along with the three B-2 Spirit aircraft arrived at Keflavik Air Base with the aim of participating in Bomber Task Force (BTF) missions, a vital component of the U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) collaborative training efforts with U.S. Allies, partners and joint forces.

Tumblr media
The B-2 is the only operational stealth bomber of the Air Force, with a global range, and the continuous rotations of the Bomber Task Force in Europe are seen as an element of NATO's high alert level since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in early 2022. The planned duration of the recent deployment has not been disclosed, but BTFs usually last from 2 to 6 weeks.
youtube
Around the world, the U.S. Strategic Command routinely orchestrates BTF operations not only to show the United States' commitment to collective defense, but also to integrate seamlessly with the operations conducted by the Geographic Combat Commands of America. This BTF initiative is designed to strengthen USEUCOM's comprehensive security mandates across the European continent, while offering crews the opportunity to acclimatize to the complexities of joint and coalition operations in foreign locations.
Tumblr media
"Each mission of the bomber task force highlights the feat of our armed forces in navigating today's intricate and unpredictable terrain of global security, focusing on promoting stability, security and freedom throughout Europe," said General James Hecker, commander of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe; U.S. Air Forces in Africa and NATO Allied Command. "In resolute unity, the U.S. maintains our nation's commitment to promoting peace and stability in Europe, collaborating unwaveringly with allies and partners to prevent challenges against the sovereignty of nations throughout the region."
Tumblr media
Leading the crew of the expeditionary bomber in its deployment is Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Kousgaard, commander of the 393º Bombing Squadron. He emphasized the essence of the dynamic use of the force, describing it as a strategy that combines strategic unpredictability with operational adaptability. Lieutenant Colonel Kousgaard said: “The B-2 bomber is arguably the most strategically significant aircraft in the world, but that does not mean it is unftably; dynamically deploying bombers is a unique and important capability.”
The presence of the B-2 at Keflavik Air Base serves as a tangible link between U.S. Air Force personnel and their colleagues in the theater of operations. This connection facilitates collaborative training, increasing interoperability and highlighting the unwavering dedication of the United States to the region.

Tumblr media
It has not been disclosed whether B-2s will operate from any advanced area in Europe, but BTFs usually include unannounced secondary deployments.
Elaborating on the importance of joint training exercises with the Allies, Lieutenant Colonel Kousgaard highlighted the role of his unit in improving collective military capabilities and increasing the likelihood of successfully achieving the shared goals. He emphasized: "There is simply no substitute for practical integration with our allies and partners that we can carry out during a BTF deployment like this."
Tumblr media
In addition to strengthening combat readiness, the BTF initiative allows aviators to engage in a wide spectrum of military operations, covering everything from combat missions to humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts.
The Bomber Task Force Europe offers U.S. and NATO leaders strategic options to secure, stop and defend against opposing aggression against the Alliance, throughout Europe and around the world. Regular and routine deployments of U.S. strategic bombers provide our critical touchpoints to train and operate alongside our allies and partners, reinforcing our collective response to any global conflict.

Tumblr media
As we look ahead to 2025, Chuck Schumer remains a pivotal figure in American politics. The Senate Majority Leader, known for his sharp wit and relentless dedication, continues to shape the legislative landscape. Schumer’s ability to navigate the complexities of the Senate has earned him respect from both sides of the aisle, making him a key player in critical decisions that affect millions of Americans.
In 2025, Chuck Schumer’s leadership is more crucial than ever. With the Senate vote on CR (Continuing Resolutions) often hanging in the balance, Schumer’s knack for building bipartisan coalitions ensures that government shutdowns are avoided. His strategic approach to negotiations has been instrumental in passing vital legislation, particularly in areas like healthcare, infrastructure, and climate change. Schumer’s commitment to progress is evident in his unwavering support for policies that benefit working families across the nation.
One of Schumer’s most notable relationships in the Senate is with California Senator Alex Padilla. Together, they have championed initiatives aimed at addressing immigration reform and voting rights. Padilla, a rising star in the Democratic Party, has found a reliable ally in Schumer, whose experience and influence have helped advance California’s priorities on the national stage. This partnership underscores Schumer’s ability to collaborate with senators from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that voices from across the country are heard.
Another key figure in Schumer’s orbit is Adam Schiff, the former California congressman who has become a prominent voice in the Senate. Schiff’s expertise in national security and intelligence aligns seamlessly with Schumer’s vision for a safer, more secure America. Their collaboration on issues like election integrity and foreign policy has strengthened the Democratic agenda, showcasing Schumer’s talent for uniting talented lawmakers around shared goals.
The California senators, including Padilla and Schiff, have found a steadfast leader in Chuck Schumer. His ability to balance the demands of a diverse caucus while maintaining a clear focus on progressive values has solidified his reputation as one of the most effective Senate Majority Leaders in recent history. Whether it’s advocating for climate action or fighting for economic justice, Schumer’s leadership continues to inspire confidence among his colleagues and constituents alike.
In a political landscape often marked by division, Chuck Schumer stands out as a unifying force. His leadership in 2025 serves as a reminder that progress is possible when we work together. As the Senate continues to tackle pressing issues, Schumer’s vision and determination will undoubtedly remain at the forefront of American politics.

Schumer’s legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and an unyielding commitment to the American people.
