A Sims 4 Players Guide To The Sims 3 By Simmearly

I am putting this together based on my own gameplay experiences and expectations, so some of this is purely my opinion.

I recently decided that with my new PC I would re-install The Sims 3, and All EPs, to see how it ran and play around with the features I miss in TS4,

I followed this guide on steam to set the game up to run smoothly.

To paraphrase just a little, this includes a TON of information, but basically, it shows you how to replace the launcher, and run the game on modern machines without issues.

Gameplay would not be possible for longer than an in-game week or so without the fantastic NRAAS & Lazy Duchess Mods.

I Use, Nraas Overwatch, Master Controller, Register, Error Trap & Traveller, which is my personal favorite, as it allows you to travel to more worlds for vacations, and own vacation homes in them etc. It also allows for you to move to a new town and retain relationships from the other town(s) you've lived in.

I recommend good default skin and eye replacements, as well as default replacements for Eyebrows and Beards, I Recommend Checking out @brntwaffles on Tumblr, as they have these as well as lighting mods to brighten up the in-game lighting and water!

Gameplay Mods,

I really enjoy TS3 Vanilla gameplay, so this list is short (For Now) however I do want to expand upon it, the Growing Pains Mod - adds a lot to the child stage and I feel like it integrates so well with Vanilla that it could have been in the game from the start.

Sim Drinks - Adds Buffs For Bar Drinks

Shop For Clothes at Clothing Rack, TS2 Style

That's it For Now, I will probably update this post as my Legacy continues, I am currently on Gen 4, and am having a BLAST!

Also - I do own quite a bit of the Store content and I have found myself using it more than expected, I bought a lot of it years ago, and I failed to realize then just how much gameplay is involved,

The Steam it up sauna is currently my favorite object due to its regenerative properties, but the Business-as-Usual industrial Oven, placed on your home lot allows for you to basically have a private chef! (Don't pay full price for any store content, wait for a sale or find it on other avenues) ;)

Edit - TIP! Reset your town using Nraas every few sim weeks to keep things running smoothly

Venus Girdle REDONE: Fullbright

Yay, I fixed it! I hated the way the OG version came out, cuz I really wanted it to glow similar to how IRL Venus Girdles do.

Close enough! ^0^

Angler Fish FX Machine (LN EP REQ)

These things are frikkin frightening--y'all owe me for this, LOL.

I made TS4's Angler Fish a recolorable Late Night EP FX Machine so it could spit out bubbles, cuz ofc it should. Found under Party/Entertainment.

Fullbright: Neon Flock & Kelp Lights

I made Severinka's Neon Flock ACTUALLY neon, by making it glow with the Fullbright Shader, as well as making it recolorable. IDER what category it's in--use the Search mod like god intended.

The Kelp Outdoor Lights also have the Fullbright Shader.

EA Kraken as Decor

Includes 2 variations. Found under Lawn Ornaments (IIRC). This mesh is friggin huge, so you'll need a big enough lot to fit in on.

Hang 10 Seal as Decor

I took the Evil Seal mesh from EA's Surfing Station, and made it a Lawn Ornament. I added the retexture from @mspoodle1's Hang Ten mod. You'll need an OMSP with these.

Shell Wall Decor REDONE

I was NOT prepared for how huge & clunky the IP EP mesh was, omg. I reduced the scale, removed the USELESS square frame/border, and added an extra version with a Flipped mesh. Jfc, EA.

Pets EP Hay DR (Blue)

While playing with horses in Mermaidia I realized that their hay/straw was a garish yellow that made no sense underwater. So I decided to fix it. AFAIK this texture replacement only affects 2 items:

4to3 Growing Together Celebration Cannon as Late Night FX Machine Conversion

One of the objects that I liked from the pack was this cannon and wanted them to be somewhat functional when I converted it to the sims 3. So I thought of cloning the FX Machine from Late Night and replace it with this mesh. Now it's perfect for kids parties and other celebrations! :)

There is a minor visual problem with the animation angle when changing the delay other than the default value of "continuous". I have tried changing the angle up to the base bone, but it's still can't work properly. So please refrain from changing the the delay on this object, otherwise it just looked a bit funky.

Dragon Valley - 2

Lysudette has joined the private investigator career, the payout from these quests are essential to slowly building up what will be her own tavern / brothel - she's also been moonlighting at a local pub, gathering information on the town's residents.

fun fact - She is based on my ESO character and I am having too much fun brining her to life in TS3. (She is loosely based on Cersi Lannister, and I NEED to find a good CC hair for her)

The Manhunt Begins...

Styling jobs arent the only hustle I have going on! These eligible bachelors arent going to meet themselves! Wait... that sounded better in my head.

I must say, the men in this town are cuuuute, and good at dancing to boot. Think of the summer flings, the secret rendezvous, a "Weekend Love"! I didn't manage to steal a minute with any A-listers, but I won't give up.

This week I visited a few hotspots around town. First to The Grind, which was packed and hopping until the wee hours of the morning. I danced until I dropped! The strobe lights were a bit intense, so I exercised my god-given right to complain to the manager.

Maggie's Pub was cute and had an authentic Irish pub atmosphere, from the décor, to the food, down to the games. Honestly I liked it, it had a nostalgic feeling I wasn't expecting. Its a great place to have a chill date.

I may or may not have snuck into Plasma 101... depending on who's asking... That night it was kind of dead, if you know what I mean. The drinks are superb, and really creative. Now I just have to rack up those celebrity points so I don’t have to distract the bouncer next time (he was really mean!).

I'm going to close this off with one of my favourite songs - perfect for hyping yourself up to go out and scoop up a boo.

Sims 3 Find: Mogilated's Harder Fame Mod (MTS)

so i have Late Night and it was driving me absolutely crazy that every sim in town was getting famous for essentially nothing. it really does not feel like how celebrity works!

i went digging and found this excellent mod by Mogilated on MTS. it makes getting famous much harder. skills grant no fame, too.

there are two options for a hard or slightly less hard fame progression, which i think is a great touch. highly recommend if you, too, are sick of every sim in town turning into an asshole who is impossible to talk to!
