The Worst of All Possible Worlds is the third and final of The Salvagers series and I was super duper excited to read it.

Then I was about 10 pages in and worked out it had been about 165 books since I read the two previous books, oops.

I was thoroughly confused for a while as I scoured my memory for anything deeper than "the space gays" and "the really cool armour AI thing". And let me tell you, the universe of this series is very deep and absolutely stuffed full of awesome.

Space, tech and AI to be expected but magic science, psychics, gods, and space cults are what makes Alex White's series so different. And really really cool.

Once I'd worked out the who was who of the characters again, I had a great time. The excitement is packed in tight and I wouldn't have it any other way. I advise not reading the series So Far Apart, but I Definitely advise reading the series.

Incredibly alarming that talks of “peace” in Gaza seem to extend no further than a ceasefire. How do you think they’re gonna start off where they left off themselves? Their houses are destroyed, so many have lost mothers and fathers and brothers and children, they still have no clean water and no food. Any area Israel withdraws out of is an area it already knows has been rendered inhospitable. There was even a direct quote by some IOF soldier gleefully stating how he “wasn’t sure Palestinians could go back to their homes.” So what happens when the US “succeeds at negotiating a ceasefire”? Who will be responsible for helping the Palestinians rebuild all that they’ve lost?

@muffinlance ‘s Salvage was the first big ATLA fic I read, effectively launching me into this fandom head- first. It feels right to pick this series back up with a grumpy little Zuko fawning over the albatross-pigeons and pretending he’s not.

So Arthur actually did the thing, you know. That oh so romantic thing described in all fantasy romantic books, where the main character rips a piece of their clothing to bandage their not so lover’s wound.

So like, Arthur ripped his tunic to bandage Merlin’s bicep. And made a silly joke about it, even? “First battle wound :D.” He was so excited, and Merlin was worried about Arthur’s clothes too.
