my WoBA (world of the bending arts) RPG atla oc, an airbender born in around 500AG, 17 yrs old and lives in the Republic City with her mums Mary and Rose, and their older sibling Reese. Elyha and Reese are both adopted by Mary and Rose and they often joke the family is the avatar but split up (Elyha air, Reese earth, Mary water and Rose fire). Elyha's bio parents was a moonblessed waterbender (like Yue) and an airbender, which is how she got her white hair.

another atla oc!! She got kidnapped as a very young child by Ozai and Azulon for her purple fire. She's around the same age as Lu Ten and is a very skilled firebender (Ozai and Azulon won't accept anything less, even from the child they kidnapped) and she, after realising the children were no danger, could be seen with Zuko, Azula and Lu Ten. She actually goes with Iroh to the siege of ba sing se! and after that, the sun warriors!

born in the early 1960s, she's one of my youngest OCs on 11 years! She's specifically from a Gravity Falls dream I once had, which then turned into an au. Orphaned and homeless after her mother got evicted, she spends years on the streets before finally being found by Stan Pines during his homeless days. When Stan leaves the country, she goes with him as his adopted daughter and actually spends the rest of her childhood living on the streets and travelling the world with Stan! She's in her twenties when she starts even thinking about settling down somewhere

tell us about Kairos in Retrograde!

Oh boy!

So, Kairos in Retrograde is Part 3 of my canon adjacent Snape/OC saga. At this point in the story, we're in the Deathly Hallows section of the timeline, so everything is a mess and all dark and twisty. The OC is Miranda Rose, an American Muggleborn (or No-Maj born as she would say) witch, who works as a magical bounty hunter. She and Sev met in the summer between GoF and OotP, and had an on again-off again relationship until the end of OotP when they were pretty well on for good. She is an honorary member of the Order of the Phoenix (not official b/c of MACUSA stuff) and is currently acting as an Auror to help with the Ministry's Auror shortage. By the end of the HBP timeline, Miranda and Severus were about to get married. Unfortunately, the Death Eater attack on Hogwarts and Albus's murder got in the way of that.

While Miranda was very aware of Severus's being a spy/double agent, Severus neglected to tell her about how he was going to be offing Albus. So now she doesn't know what to think. Like, she still loves him and hopes that he's somehow on the right side of things, but it's hard to keep believing that when there's all this evidence to the contrary.

Things are made all the worse as Kairos opens, because neither she nor Severus can openly approach the other to explain anything. Severus is wanted by both the Ministry and the Order; and while Remus and Minerva vouched for Miranda's being innocent of any of Severus's crimes, not everyone trusts that she is innocent, so she can't really step out of line.

I'm excited/intimidated to dig into this book, because I think that the DH timeline has the biggest of all missing moments: what happened at Hogwarts while Harry and CO. were busy camping? And I'm also working in a Bigger Bad that will be the main villain when I get to the fourth and final installment of the saga: The Quick and the Dead.

Backstory:

Once a boy with loving parents, Daemon would've lived a life any average boy would. But hunted down like animals, his parents were butchered in front of his once innocent eyes by an infamous group. After surviving that event, he was raised by Rex Exaris, The Blackened One. 

After wasting his childhood life on training to become a blood-thirsty warrior, he joined Rex Exaris in the revolution war of BlackDawn. He gathered allies and aided factions in the city's underworld. And then he finally hunted down the infamous group but went out of hand in the process- he almost summoned his demon side-

(In BlackDawn, think of it as a Primal Instinct that takes over when a battle-hardened warrior is pushed to a corner or over an edge. Their Demon Side gives them strength, speed, agility, and Demonic Instinct to rival against their powerful opponents.)

-After coming to and realizing what terrible feats he's done, he disappeared. Then began 'the Old God' saga, when a new ally joined the rebels to find Daemon and bring him back. He and this new ally, Valdor Colt, had to join forces as new adversaries have shown themselves- and one of them is none other than Daemon himself. He learns that he was chosen as the host of the god of Knowledge, and his mind has two personalities fighting one another to take control- One is himself, and the other is the god.

 After Conquering his inner war and annihilating the new enemy forces, he returned to Rex Exaris, who welcomed him with open arms. 

Then came the saga called the New Foundation Syndicate. This was when the revolution was finally over, Chaos-Walker was finally beaten, and the Corrupted scattered across the city with no backing from their once glorious empire, and when the legends of BlackDawn disappeared without a trace- Even Rex Exaris himself. The young Daemon Phyonix decided to bring together a syndicate that would establish a new foundation for the city and rebuild it.

The Great Arson

- Colonial Saga - 

It was in the beginning of summer, when the Kingdom was covered in death as if winter held its icy claws around the stone walls of Mage’s tower like it was the castle’s throat.

Ashe swirled around like dirty snow in a slow dance, covering bland smouldering embers as if they were exchanging gentle touches - two lovers untouched by death. The stone walls that still stood were ghostly shadowless silhouettes. The banners, their banners, once proud thick fabric in white, gold and purple shrouding grey, now burnt shreds.

All glory and honour, years of pride and bravery, of royalty and safety… Now nothing but ashes.

“What.. what happened here..?”. Mage’s words were a mere whisper when he stopped next to him, not louder than the silent crackling and hushed breeze, Rell’s puzzled snorting.

 He wiped away his tears with one rough motion of his gloved hand, burning in his eyes, because of the heat, the ash, the sorrow, the fury? Knight didn’t care what exactly boiled in him. His glare shot to Mage next to him, small and confused. Slowly his dark chocolate hair got also covered with grey flakes. “Max happened, that’s it”, he growled, his grip around Rell’s reins tightened. “Where’s King?”

 Mage played with Sleipnir’s reins, the dapple grey stallion teetered on his hooves, so Mage switched to stroking his neck raised in fright at the scene. “I.. I don’t know”, he admitted slowly, his dark gaze somewhere in the ashes under their leather boots.

 Knight grunted in response. “Then let’s clean up here”. He led Rell away to the closest tree that still bloomed green as all trees should. It was the beginning of summer still. Mage followed him, but didn’t tie Sleipnir to the branches as Knight did. He stroked calmness in the still agitated stallion, pulled some ash particles out of his majestic mane absently while watching, observing Knight’s actions. He never saw his best friend that angry…

Then he looked back at the burned down castle, destroyed to the ground. Nothing was left. Nothing but.. ash.

 There Mage grabbed the silver mane, a bit too tight so immediately apologized to Sleipnir when he complained. Yet his anger rose.

Knight was about to leave, sleeves rolled up and a part of his armour packed away in Rell’s saddlebags. He was smeared in grey, defeated by the destruction he tried to fight with his bare hands. But when he looked back to Mage, his green eyes flamed with such determination, fuelled with fury. “Are you coming?”, he asked, more of a command.

 Mage took a deep breath, straightened his posture and with a few firm steps he also tied Sleipnir to the tree. He walked back over to him and grabbed Knight, placing his hand on his metal broad breastplate with a determined will. They stood close to each other, Mage looked up to Knight those few inches, his expression stressing his words. “They burned down our home? They better fear the phoenix then”

 Knight looked back and forth between Mage’s eyes, then smiled. Grabbed his hand that was placed against him. “That’s my Mage.”

 With that, Mage pushed him away, rolled his eyes and grunted. “Fuck you”. But his smile and sparkling chocolate betrayed him.

 They stood again in front of the ruin that was once their home, where the grass faded over to burned ground and rubble and ash replaced white stone and noble wood. With a sigh Mage looked over the scene.

“Let’s do this.”

 They worked for days, months even, and with a bit of Mage’s magic and buildcraft, their combined sweat and blood, winter turned back to summer, the ashes became a home again, more glorious and magnificent than ever. A perfect rising for a royal phoenix.

 What they didn’t expect, what no one expected… was the power this phoenix held after his rebirth.

But: it was the end of summer, god damn it. They didn’t care about that back then.

A frozen smile looked over the castle, at the exact same spot where Mage and Knight once stood, willing to build up their home again, a new home, a perfect home. Craved for the safety and memories those walls once provided.

Now.. those walls were ruined again. But neither Mage nor Knight stood here to actually take back what they craved for now. A frozen smile looked over the castle again and huffed.
