Do you think naruto the last is a good story plot wise? I like the whole Toneri plot and all but I didn’t liked the fact that they made Hinata suffer bullying (something that was never in the manga) and Naruto and her meeting before, cause for me doesn’t make any sense! I would prefer another kind of development but it’s an okay story

I didn't really enjoy the plot of The Last to be honest, but that was much more due to my own personal gripes more than any objective criticism. I'm a huge NH fan so I enjoyed seeing their romance being focused on for a change, but I had other issues which bugged me. In case you haven't heard me say this before, I absolutely hate the damsel in distress trope, it's probably my joint most hated trope in all of anime, right up there with the double standard trope of unjustified female on male physical violence being acceptable and even considered funny. So unfortunately for me, Hinata was largely portrayed as a damsel in distress in The Last, and it very much hampered my overall enjoyment of the movie.

Hinata had to be saved from Toneri when she encountered him in the park.

Then she had to be saved again when she was put under Toneri’s control.

Then she had to be saved again when she was locked in a cage.

The cherry on top was how Naruto just had to carry her bridal style soon after she once again seemed helpless when the ground crumbled from beneath them as they were making their way back and Naruto had to catch her. It was cute, sure. But it only added to the prominence of that annoying trope.

There were obviously a few other inconsistencies in the movie, like how Naruto was effected by the genjutsu in the lake despite being a perfect Jinchuuriki, which obviously makes no sense according to Killer Bee, but I just really don't like the damsel in distress trope, so an inconsistency like that was just really tame in comparison for me.

I revisit the Naruto movies as a sort of guilty pleasure and I just want to say that I wish that how Sakura is written in The Crescent Moon Kingdom and The Last is how she should’ve been written all of the time

Ladies & Gentlemen of the Naruto community who ship “NaruSasu” like it’s their one-dimension in life, I have BREAKING NEWS for you: The “hinted romance” between Naruto Uzumaki & Sasuke Uchiha is nothing but a batshit fantasy.

Naruto is property of Masashi Kishimoto, & what HE writes goes, which includes who ends up where with who. If Kishimoto says Naruto Uzumaki & Hinata Hyūga are written in the stars, then it’s a done deal. If Kishimoto says Sasuke Uchiha & Sakura Haruno are written in the stars as well, then go figure, it’s a done deal.

Any moments of hinted romance between Naruto Uzumaki & Sasuke Uchiha are done either solely for laughs, or to make clear to the audience why Naruto values Sasuke, how he views him as someone close to him, what hardships he is willing to endure to bring his friend home, & why he wants to save him from the path of self destruction.

If Masashi says that Naruto & Sasuke are not home team players to each other, then any arguments you have against his statements are baseless & are rendered moot.

In closing, as 1 fellow Naruto fan to another, I firmly, but politely, implore you all to get off of popular social media, go outside, touch some grass, & smarten up.

Say what you want about Naruto The Last or NaruHina (actually don't you dare say anything bad about NaruHina here they're adorable and I freaking love them)

But I have to say the funniest and simultaneously the realest moment in the entire movie was when Hinata rejected Naruto a total of ONE times the the one singular time and he decided he would simply die. Like just straight up fall to his death. What even was the point anymore. Hope he explodes completely actually.

And when he didn't die he proceeded to be the most depressed wallowing sobbing pathetic wet cat to ever exist. He really was just:

Shikamaru: Naruto get up dude.

Naruto already crying: Hinata used to call me that

Shikamaru: it's your fucking name-

Literally that was so real of him the only appropriate reaction he should have had.

unpopular opinion but I agree with anon about Sakura in the Last. Sakura was a great heroine for the safety of the moon and earth and she ended doing what Hinata was supposed to do from the get go which was save Hanabi.

Hinata was just a damsel in distress and when she was asked to do something, just one thing as small as destroying the tenseigan, she couldn't so it makes no sense to give her a power for that. It was reduced to shipping which is one of my least favorite tropes, a female deemed useless for shipping. The way she was trapped by the hair and thrown to a cage, Toneri displaying her like she was a piece of furniture was really cringy and it gives the vibe that SP just wanted to show her off as a material like Hinata is just fanservice 99% of the time.

so Sakura not having Sasuke around was refreshing cause she was focusing on her mission fully. She saved Naruto and she saved Hanabi and restored her eyes. I would get why sakura looks way better as a heroine.

I'll agree that Hinata was portrayed as a damsel in distress during the movie, that's all I have to say about that.
