I'm rereading The Iron Druid Chronicles for the first time since I was like 13, and now that I finally understand ALL the sexual innuendo I'm just wondering; do allos really think about sex that often?? Is this just an Atticus thing or do all people who have a moderately high sex drive think about it whenever they look at someone they find attractive?
I don't remember the books from Oberon's perspective being quite so... innuendo laden. I hope I'm remembering that correctly and it's not just part of how Kevin Hearne writes.

Cooperation Over Conflict
Love this quote from Kevin Hearne's Hounded about using fear and cooperation. #Inspiration #Wisdom #Teamwork #ConflictResolution #TheIronDruidChronicles
âFrightening people only pushes back the date of an inevitable fight, cooperation makes fighting unnecessary.â â Kevin Hearne, Hounded

This part made me cry because I have a hard time thinking of freckles as beautiful but this just-
Screenshot of an excerpt from Shattered, the Seventh book in the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. The excerpt contains the following text: I am unsure why modern men are so reluctant to admit that they enjoy snuggling. When they scoff at it or claim to despise it, theyâre lying, of course, trying to conform to some bullshit code of machismo. Regardless of oneâs lifespan, there are few pleasures in it like a lazy morning under comfy blankets with someone you love. Granuaileâs soft smile and the early beams of sunlight on her freckled cheeks, all healed now, were so beautiful that I suspected that my day had already been made. In fact, odds were that it wouldnât get any better, so I enjoyed the view while I could and felt grateful to be alive. Moments like that never grow old.

"You know what sucks about prophecies? They never predict anything fun. Just once Iâd like to hear a prophet tell someone, 'Thou shalt win a bitchinâ Camaro on a game show.'"
Valkyrie Cain, probably.

I have a need to draw Atticus so I figured, why not make an Iorn Druid campaign. I feel like it mashes up nicely.
So, here's Atticus O'Sullivan. I wonder if there is an Irish wolf hound mod for Scratch! I need me Oberon!

Three books into Iron Druid Chronicles, I think I've identified Hearne's problem with developing characters: he is (was?) incapable of writing someone who wasn't a raging douchebag.

Iâm listening to Trapped by Kevin Hearne and THE CLOWN SCENE OMG. I get that the elves needed to have an excuse to block the Forrest, so making a parade was the best option, BUT THEY DECIDED TO DRESS UP AS CLOWNS. I love the idea that they were performing for the kids too. The elves can be assassins and still be entertaining for the kids.
Ok but where did they get that much clown makeup??? They have dark skin, they would need a LOT of white makeup.
I also love the idea that the group in the sports store were arguing which ropes were inorganic but still flammable. They canât have Atticus unbinding his way out, but they also need it to burn for an extra good measure.
I was having a good time with the book so far, but dark elves in clown costumes is just-
Amazing. Inspired. I love it MFKFKGKGK

Smakebit ~ Besieged

Fifteen Books
Fifteen Books - This morning I give further updates on my reading journey as I talk about Red Seas Under Red Skies, Hounded, and Kaiju Preservation Society
Good Morning Friends! It has been a bit since I gave an update on my reading journey, so I figured I might as well close out the week with one. At this point, Iâve read fifteen books and am currently working on my sixteenth. As sad as this sounds, this is more books than I have ever read in any given year at any point in my life. Traditionally I am at max a five-books-a-year sort of person saveâŠ

hi laura! fĂŒr die bĂŒcher des jahres: 2, 5, 14 und 22 :) danke!
Hiya, thanks for asking :)
2 - How many books did you read this year? - Only 3, I believe: The Lord of the Rings, and the first 2 instalments of the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne
5 - What genre did you read the most of? - Fantasy, I don't even have to count for this ^^
14 - What books do you want to finish before the year is over? - Depends on what I'm getting for Christmas, really, but ideally the third book of The Poppy War trilogy by R.F. Kuang
22 - Whatâs the longest book you read? - Well, my copy of Lord of the Rings is almost 1,100 pages long, so of all books, that one. If we consider books I only got this year, Mistborn: The Well of Ascension, with 781 pages :)

i am a big fan of kevin hearne's writing style, witty and humorous, with characters that you feel and grow fond of. Al is a wonderful character and precisely because he is an old man, he is charming and engaging in his own way.
Ink & Sigil || Kevin Hearne || Ink & Sigil #1 || 336 pages Top 3 Genres: Urban Fantasy / Mystery / Magic
Synopsis: Al MacBharrais is both blessed and cursed. He is blessed with an extraordinary white moustache, an appreciation for craft cocktails â and a most unique magical talent. He can cast spells with magically enchanted ink and he uses his gifts to protect our world from rogue minions of various pantheons, especially the Fae.
But he is also cursed. Anyone who hears his voice will begin to feel an inexplicable hatred for Al, so he can only communicate through the written word or speech apps. And his apprentices keep dying in peculiar freak accidents. As his personal life crumbles around him, he devotes his life to his work, all the while trying to crack the secret of his curse.
But when his latest apprentice, Gordie, turns up dead in his Glasgow flat, Al discovers evidence that Gordie was living a secret life of crime. Now Al is forced to play detective â while avoiding actual detectives who are wondering why death seems to always follow Al. Investigating his apprenticeâs death will take him through Scotlandâs magical underworld, and heâll need the help of a mischievous hobgoblin if heâs to survive.

I will color this and turn it into a sticker for my mom. Our whole family loves Iron Druid and she wanted Oberon and Atticus on her water cup. I still need to add Atticu's tattoos and I'll get them wrong so I'm going to have fun with it đ
Buck Foy the hobgoblin is next. I'm getting caught up on about 5 years of promised art.
