Dude I put on Homeward Bound for L bc I remember it from childhood as being a silly, funny adventure. Have now cried three times. WHAT THE FUCK DISNEY She had a great time. I'm a fucking mess. There’s an entire scene when the animals find the little girl lost alone in the woods?? And then in the next scene the camera opens on her sobbing mom and panicked dad??? WHAT THE HELL??? They just DID THAT to families in theaters!??? JFC I need a drink.

It's crying my eyes out over this movie again o'clock.
[ID: Three digitally drawn busts of animal characters from the movie Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. On the left is a large white-and-brindle American bulldog with semi-floppy ears, yellow-brown eyes and a blue collar. He has a slight bit of scarring on the right side of his muzzle and is looking cheerfully over his shoulder. On the right is an elderly golden retriever wearing a brown collar. He has a distinct pale gray face, a beard and bags below his brown eyes. He is smiling back at the other dog with a slightly tired expression. In front is a pale brown Himalayan cat who is licking her paw. She has dark brown points, blue eyes, long eyelashes and a yellow collar. She is looking at the older dog with a neutal expression. The background is green. End ID.]

I am a 30+ year old adult, and I do not give a single flying fuck.
I WILL cry like a bitch every time I see Shadow slowly crest that hill and say "Peter..."

Man… there are kids these days who’ve never seen Homeward Bound - The Incredible Journey. It was such a good movie and it just fundamentally shaped me as a person when I was growing up tbh. The musical score of that movie is the closest thing I’ve ever had to a religious experience honestly.

January Reading Challenge 2023: Choose a book that you enjoyed as a teenager to reread.
Ok, I’m kinda cheating on this one, but it works. Back in high school, I had a dog named Pluto who was prone to seizures due to a brain injury before we got him. Whenever he’d be walking it off, I would read to him. I got through several books this way and we started to read Sheila Burnford’s THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY, but Pluto passed away halfway through.
I’ve never been able to finish the book on account of the grief from his passing. For my January reading challenge, I’m taking this book that I love and I’m going to start from the beginning and try to read it all the way through.
Wish me luck.

So my sister and her husband moved from the city to the country and brought their two cats along. Both were unfixed males who had had the reign of the house in the city and her husband made the slightly unwise choice of just opening the car door and letting them out at the new place on moving day. He hoped putting their food dish by the front door would be enough, and for one cat, it was. The other cat disappeared about four days after the move.
They both thought, reasonably enough, that he had been turned into coyote food, mourned him, and let the other cat enjoy the thrill of beating up and getting beaten up by the local wildlife.
This morning my sister got a phone call from a resident of the apartment complex she used to live at. Her missing cat has been yowling for food in this resident's backyard for about a week.
This fool cat took one look at his new house, said, 'Not a chance,' and traversed the 40 km during the fall and early winter, dodging our delightful cat-devouring Canadian wildlife to return to his chosen residence.
Pulled his own Incredible Journey, but instead of being attached to an owner, he wanted his nice comfy house back and has been loudly complaining to the new owners when he found it they'd taken it from him.
