Education Week 2023 in Australia â How we can reduce wasted energy and keep the night dark.
Make a Bush Clock and learn how to use the stars to find South and to estimate the passage of time when out in the bush. Move outside to observe the night sky and count the stars in the Southern Cross â Crux and contribute valuable data to the Globe at Night Project.
Motivate to care about the environment and our place in it and how we can reduce wasted energy to keep the night dark.
These activities can be done with students from Years 4-6 or Secondary School Years 7 -8, in the school grounds or with parents at home to help with finding the Southern Cross and then counting the stars they can see according to their level of light pollution. Discussion in the class room can help to identify ways in which each student can help to reduce energy wasted and the level of light pollution and why we need to protect our night sky so that we can still see the stars and help to protect the environment for the health of ourselves and the wildlife.
A daytime online tutorial is offered which includes the Bush Clock, the Southern Cross is at itsâ highest elevation in May and so it is a good time to look for it and the Southern Cross is also the constellation for the Globe at Night Activity during May and it can be booked for each individual school so that a Q&A is possible. Evening activities onsite at the Observatory will be available as well. These activities can be tailored for each school that would like to take up the offer.

Okay, as requested by @riosnosestud, my faves off the Golden Globes Red Carpet:
Monica Barbaro looking chic and timeless and like she's having fun invites you in.
The red carpet was a total mess, which is what the Golden Globes deserves, but there were a few winners and a few almosts among the fray. One thing's for sure, floral accents, dipped hems, satin and sparkles were back in a big way.
My faves though were:
Jessica Chastain. Gorgeous from head to toe! Spider web dresses are hard to pull off, but this one really works. The unusual neckline elevates it too beyond the excpected, and I adore the matching mask!
Sheryl Lee Ralph I'm not usually into super high necklines as I think they can really shorten a torso in a way that can make your silhouette top heavy if you're anything over a B-cup, but this colour and detailing is next level. She looks really, really beautiful.
Angela Bassett The dress itself is just fine to me - like it's beautiful and fits her well, but it's a little boring, y'know? Overall though its elevated by flawless hair and make-up, and her choice of accessories. She looks full old Hollywood glamour, as she should!
Okay, they're pretty much it for my best dresseds, but there were a few almosts in there too, so I'll share them as well:
Ayo Edebiri This is soooo close for me, but I hate the trend of dipped hems - I just think they look like you've been walking in puddles. Viola Davis' dress had the same look and just - - yeah, not for me. Th drape of the skirt isn't quite right either, and I think her hair's been done badly. It's limp and lacks volume, which is a real bummer, because the overall look is lovely. I especially love the colour combo of light blues and tan, so the opera gloves are really working for me.
Stephanie Hsu Adoooore the skirt on this one, and I like the idea of the top, but I don't think it quite works? Also I would've preferred the look with an up-do as opposed to a ponytail.
Lauren Miller and Seth Rogan I loveher dress and his suit actually. I love it when men take chances, and this shade of pink and the thick waistband in lieu of a belt really work for him! The black shoes are a big miss for me though - they really jar. A lighter shoe would've really pulled it together.
Viola Davis
Stunning colour and draping, but this dipped hem is almost worse than Ayo's, and I don't like silver accessories with this shade of blue? Doesn't quite work for me.
Rhea Seehorn She looks beautiful, but the patterning of the florals with the full coverage shape feels matronly to me in a way that I think she deserves better than.
Barry Keoghan Love the shade of blue and the tie, but hate the fit of the blazer. It's like a square crop?? Bizarre. Also Kodi Smit-McPhee did it better at the Oscars last year. Loved his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin though!
What were your favourite looks?
#don't even get me started on worst looks of the night haha#golden globes 2023#awards season#should i do my oscars projections on here this year?#i don't normally!#i'm getting through the likely nominees though

everybody wants a taste vol. 2 l Lando Norris
a/n: i just had to write this to have a clear mind. it'snot the best, i'm sorry but i hope you like it anyway <3 i have a project in mind that I CANNOT WAIT to share so i needed to write this after months of promising, i'm sorry.
summary: everybody wants a taste part ii
Lando did everything he could to stop his mind from thinking about you and why you still werenât in the hotel room.Â
You were wrong, you were oh-so-wrong from walking away like that in the middle of an argument, especially when he was trying to let you know how he was feeling, letting out the repressed emotions boiling in his chest for weeks, maybe he didnât want to say out loud that they had been gnawing his insides for months now. Â
But when he noticed the expensive velvet dress lifeless on the floor, his heart beat faster and his hands started sweating as he reminisced about the FaceTime call while he was racing in Mexico and you were in Paris, trying to get the phone to stay upright to show him the different gowns for the multiple red carpets awaiting, planning on the color of his bowtie and shoes, whining when you insisted he had to shave, at least for the Oscars.Â
He was sad, yes, but it didnât mean he wasnât pissed off still. Lando was not going to back off, not this time. The problem was, neither were you while you walked towards the hotel room to collect your things.Â
It probably was the most silent plane ride either of youâd ever been on, with Lando putting on his headphones and playing a random video game as you pulled the covers and tried to get some sleep, dreading the moment you stepped inside your precious home in Montecarlo, with fans, mostly Landoâs, trying to get a peek inside the luxury car carrying you, and the painfully obvious discomfort and sadness that would go beyond the polarized windows and bright flashes.
Because that was it for the rest of the time.Â
Silence.
Itâs not like you decided to sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened, no, it was lingering in the air; whenever you woke up, when he texted âI love youâ when you let him know you got a new role, when he spent some days in England and only texted once he was there, when he felt an enormous surge of pride when your name was announced as a nominee for the Golden Globes, but seconds later his name was announced as well.Â
And it all came back.Â
Rumors started flooding, and you werenât stupid, making an extreme effort to fly to Abu Dhabi to support him during the last race of the season, even if it meant not sleeping for almost 48 hours and flying from one continent to the other in the middle of a press tour.Â
Maybe that was the beginning of starting to feel like yourself again, when he spotted you and gave you his thousand dollar smile, with his eyes shining so bright in the night, his arms embracing your body as your lips found his forehead before his traveled to their home on your lips.Â
It was blissful, going Christmas shopping together hand in hand, carrying a list to not forget something, walking hand in hand in the cold weather, and smiling at anyone who recognized you, even if the security guard walking a few steps ahead of you warned you werenât stopping for photos that day.
The problem was the loud places outside and cute gifts, mixing families and kisses over the helmet, were just a moment during the loud silence, the plastic smiles, falling asleep alone on your bed while you listened to his high-pitched laugh through the walls.Â
And in the blink of an eye, Hollywood called back and you were gone again.Â
It was hard to hide the fact your boyfriend wasnât with you during his free time as he usually would, he was more than acquainted with movie critics and journalists, just as you were in the different tracks, whenever possible people knew Lando would be by your side and youâd be right there next to him.Â
Maybe the saddest part, you thought, was the text you received saying he wouldnât be able to attend the Golden Globes, the night you were expected to win and keep hyping up the way to the golden statue.Â
âcanât go darling, they need me in HQ and then some quadrant stuffâ
You ignored the pain when the stylist asked the color of your dress and if Lando was gonna wear a matching bow tie, when fans asked where he was and you had to answer he was busy even if there were videos of him on TikTok driving around Monaco and spending nights at Jimmiz.Â
Lando swears he didnât start acting like that to hurt you, things just happened that way. The likes under some random beautiful girl on Instagram were just a thing of the moment, she was the girlfriend of a friend and could use the boost, or she was super nice during a night out, or she was at the apartment of some random person youâd never heard about before.Â
Testing started and you werenât there, but it was easier for Lando to explain your absence: âSheâs getting ready for the big night, the Oscars are around the corner and none of us need the distractions right nowâ
User1: yikes, not Lando saying his girlfriend is a distraction ON A LIVE INTERVIEW
User2: I give them 3 months, tops.Â
User3: nah I think they broke up already, theyâve been miserable since her movie premiered
User4: you mean y/nâs been miserable bc I know my boy Lando has been hitting the clubs and the likes
User5: he deserves it after his gf fucked tom holland though
User6: itâs called acting.Â
User5: it sure as hell didnât look like it
User7: what was the name of that portuguese girl again????
You swore you wouldnât see comments, but it was an impossible task, even if the result was you crying in a hotel room, alone, helpless as all you received were heart emojis, blue tickets, and voicemail.Â
The Oscars came and he promised heâd be there.Â
It was tense, but you tried your best to ignore it and say it was nerves, youâd never been nominated before and it felt like you were going to be sick.Â
Then, a streak of light appeared the night before when he held you tight, kissed your forehead, and said you were the best, that you were going to win and if you didnât it wasnât important because this was the first of many.Â
And then, your mind cleared of all the comments, the seen messages, and the little white lies.Â
You both walked the red carpet, with big smiles, and sparkly eyes as the crowd swooned while watching Lando help you with the dress, fixing your hair, carrying your purse. It was all a blur until they called your name.
Lando was the first one up, ignoring etiquette and bending and kissing you while you were processing what had just happened. The thing is, even in that hazy moment you noticed the grip of his hand on your waist tightened when Tom congratulated you before you started the short walk to the stage.
You thanked the crew, the producers, fellow actors, and Lando for his unconditional support. Even if you and he knew it was a blatant lie because of the months of uncertainty if he was with someone else, the miserable feeling of doubting yourself because maybe, just maybe, you werenât enough for him; beautiful, rich, talented, exceptional Lando Norris.Â
Lando maybe suspected it but didnât say anything as the flight from Los Angeles to Monaco repeated itself, but one thing was different. Yes, it was quiet, but not tense, he saw you concentrated on reading a book, not giving him much attention.Â
The car ride was the same, with flashes and people trying to reach both of you, but Lando more as he stayed behind.Â
You were inside the car and observed him, the beautiful women asking to have five seconds with him and he did everything with a smile. Maybe you could throw a tantrum because he was always surrounded by beautiful and smart girls who wanted a little bit of his attention, a part of his job? The answer was bitter.Â
The apartment was tranquil, the view of the marina breathtaking, but you knew this was the last of you there, this wasnât home anymore.
And Lando knew it right when he saw you standing in the middle of the living room, not letting go of the luggage you were carrying, and your eyes were watery as your lips reddened.Â
âPlease donât,â he whispered, you were barely able to hear him.Â
Tears were streaming down your face as you shook your head, âYou know it has to be this way. Itâs not fair for usâŠâ You took a deep breath. âNo, you know? Itâs unfair to me because youâre living your life, which is fine, but you left me behind because of what? Jealousy? No, Lando, justâŠâ
Lando was silent: âI know, I know it was wrong Iâm so sorry,â he mumbled.
âI know you are, but I think⊠Iâm done for now, I deserve better and you do as well, you have to be with someone who makes you feel secure and thatâs not me⊠Iâm sorry.â
So you left Monaco, left Lando, hung the VIP McLaren lanyards, and said goodbye to the track.
You didnât feel better, Lando didnât feel better, but it was for the best.
Or something like that.Â

Just to be clear
Pairing: Jenna Ortega x f!reader
Warnings: obliviousâą reader
Summary: you get the girl... eventually
Masterlist
You've never felt like you belonged in this industry. The people you've worked with were kind, compassionate and totally devoted to their craft, so creatively gifted it almost made you feel bleak in comparison, so you never felt like you could share your ideas with your fellow actors, you didn't feel brave enough to come up to a director and offer him your thoughts on the scene you were about to play out. You never thought you'd fit in enough to feel comfortable in the studio, cornered between blue screens and people dressed in superhero costumes, not when you got your first Golden Globe and not even when you got your first Oscar.
You still couldn't wrap your mind around the fact that you were nominated in the first place, let alone won, but the awards under your belt gave you enough credibility to pick and choose between roles offered to you, and you used it to your advantage, disregarding scripts sent to you to check the cast instead, only picking films with people you actually wanted to meet.
Your manager always tried his best to keep his hands to himself when you did that, barely holding back from slapping the back of your head every time you threw away an Oscar worthy script, huffing and rolling his eyes as he typed away on his phone.
That's why, when a script to Scream 7 landed in your mail, you snagged it away before he could burn it. After all, you've been a fan of the franchise for a long time now, you couldn't let an opportunity like that pass.
He groaned and banged the back of his head against the wall repeatedly when he saw the script in your hands, muttering something under his breath. You just smiled and made him schedule a meeting with the director.
You didn't regret your decision.
The first time you met the cast you felt a bit timid, seeing how familiar they were with each other, laughing and exchanging jabs around the table, before falling silent when they finally noticed you lingering at the door.
"Oh my god it's true!" Jasmine screeched, jumping up from her seat. Her eyes shone so brightly, you couldn't help but smile. "When Jenna told me you were casted I laughed in her face. I can't believe it!" She came to a stop in front of you, holding you by the elbow as she led you to the table. "What are you doing here with us peasants?"
You chuckled, feeling at ease and she blabbered on, gesturing wildly as she introduced you to the people in the room. Relief flooded through you with each smile sent your way, and soon enough you were seated at the round table, actively engaging in banter and laughter, your eyes crinkling in the corners and your grin so wide it made your cheeks hurt.
Working with them was as easy as breathing.
While Jasmine and Mason never failed to make you feel welcomed with their harmless jokes and good-natured teasing, Melissa took the role of an older sister, always making sure you felt comfortable around other actors and filming crew, showing you around the set and taking you to her favorite cafés. It made you feel warm all over and each night you returned to your rented apartment with a content smile.
Jenna, on the other hand, was an enigma. While everyone else took a direct approach from the first day, not shying away from questions about your previous projects, gossiping about people you've worked with and dragging you around the city whenever you had free time, she seemed to almost tiptoe around you, greeting you with a simple smile and tilt of her head and never uttering more than five words in your presence.
At first, you thought you did something wrong, your eyebrows furrowing each time she brushed past you, headphones around her neck and a small smile in place as she greeted you with a simple wave of her fingers. You always made sure to send her a small wave in return, your expression growing even more confused every time she ducked her head, her falling hair hiding a flustered expression she tried so hard to keep from showing on her face.
When you asked Melissa about it almost a month into filming she just laughed and shook her head, muttering something about clueless teenagers. It left you even more confused.
The next day after that conversation Jenna approached you during lunch, sitting beside you on a bench and offering a single earbud with that small smile in place. You beamed and took the offered item, spending the next forty minutes happily munching on your fries and listening to her playlist, occasionally stealing looks at the beautiful girl beside you.
A fry fell from your grasp each time your eyes met.
If you thought you spent a lot of time with Melissa and Jasmine, you were wrong, because now, three months into filming, you felt like you and Jenna were joined at the hip.
She grew bolder after your every interaction, monopolizing your lunch time at first, then moving on to picking you up in the morning and driving you back after a long day on set, and recently she chose to drive you both to her place instead, claiming she needed someone to watch the newest movie with, which usually ended up in you staying in her guest room after hours of heated discussions.
The mornings after those nights were your absolute favorite.
You'd wake up from your alarm to find her humming in the kitchen, cooking the two of you breakfast. She never made anything requiring much effort, sticking to scrambled eggs and toast, but sometimes you'd wake up a little earlier to surprise her with a new recipe, setting the table for two and waiting for the grumpy brunette. The smile she sent you at the sight never failed to make your heart skip a beat.
It was perfect, really, save for one thing.
Somewhere along the lines you started to fall in love.
You didn't know how it happened, you didn't expect it and you certainly didn't plan on it, but at the same time you weren't surprised.
Jenna could charm the pants off anyone without even trying, and the way almost every conversation you had with her almost always turned flirtatious made your heart swell in your chest.
"I love this shirt on you," she said one night after the movie ended, reaching forward to straighten the collar of your shirt, "you should wear it more often."
Somehow the shirt ended up in her closet, and when one day she wore it on set you almost face planted right on the ground, catching yourself at the last moment.
"I thought you wanted me to wear it more often?" You asked her at the end of the day, your cheeks reddening slightly at the way she smiled and hugged the fabric closer to her body.
"I think it looks even better on me."
You laughed it off and let her roam your closet that same night when she dropped you off, feeling warm all over at the sight of her being so comfortable in your space.
Melissa was the first one to notice the change in Jenna's wardrobe, but she didn't say anything, instead simply sending you a knowing smile and a thumbs up.
Jasmine, however, didn't notice until a few weeks later when the five of you were having a movie night at Mason's place, all tucked in the spacious couch spreading along the length of the room.
Jenna just came back from the kitchen with freshly made popcorn for the two of you when the movie was suddenly paused, making everyone in the room groan.
"Come on!" Mason threw his hands in the air, falling back against the cushions.
"What the hell is that?" She pointed a finger at the hoodie Jenna wore that night, your hoodie. Her eyes narrowed to slits, darting between the two of you and you could almost see the gears turn in her head. "Are you two fu-"
"Jasmine!" Melissa cut her off, taking the remote form the taller girl and unpausing the movie, shushing any attempts at asking questions.
You chose to ignore what was almost said, turning to focus on the movies when you felt your neck prickle. Knowing what it meant you kept your gaze pinned to the TV, ignoring a certain pair of brown eyes boring at the side of your head.
A hand sneaked up your thighs to rest at the edge of your shorts. "Are you okay?" She whispered, her voice quiet enough so only you could hear.
You nodded, not daring to look back at her, and placed your palm on top of her hand, lacing your fingers. She exhaled and slumped against your side, nestling her head on your shoulder.
Neither of you moved until the movie ended.
ĂĂĂ
All of it would've been perfect if you were the only one on the receiving end of her undivided attention.
Mason, who broke up with his girlfriend before filming started, seemed to always keep an eye on her, sending her secret smiles and whispering with her in corners of the set. She gladly followed him whenever he called her over, sharing quiet laughs and short hugs. You always looked away whenever you caught them, your knuckles turning white from the grip you had on your chair.
You kept telling yourself you didn't have a right to feel jealous, but deep down you knew it was a losing battle.
Maybe when she offered you an earbud she took your heart in exchange, gently cradling it in her soft palms only to squeeze it hard each time she walked away with Mason's arm slung around her shoulders.
You certainly felt like it when you noticed her drunkenly dancing with him after a game night you had at Melissa's place, all giggly smiles and sloppy steps.
You barely managed to take your eyes off the scene, focusing back on the cards you had, but no matter how hard you tried you couldn't concentrate, your mind still keen on what you knew was happening mere feet away.
Sighing, you sent an apologetic smile to the other two women and stood up to fix yourself another non-alcoholic drink in the kitchen, walking past the dancing pair and failing to notice the way Jenna reached out to grab you, almost falling at your feet before Mason managed to keep her upright.
You leaned against the counter, no longer interested in the drink and this night in general. Maybe it was time to go home.
A second later a pair of slender arms slid around your waist from behind. "Take me home?" Jenna asked, her words slurred against your back as she struggled to keep her balance. You turned around out to wrap an arm around her waist, keeping her pressed firmly against you.
You think you felt her hum against your neck before she pried away to look up at you, keeping hold of your shoulders.
You looked up from her glossy eyes to look back at Mason who was now throwing himself at the poor Melissa, almost crushing her in a hug.
Fingers wrapped around the back of your neck before your face was tugged back down, your breath hitching in your throat when your nose gently bumped into hers. "Why are you looking at him?" She pouted, her other hand coming up to cup your jaw, keeping your face firmly against her own. "Want you to look at me," she mumbled, failing to stay upright as she fell against your chest. It didn't stop her from muttering something you couldn't figure out as her hands circled your waist once again.
You closed your eyes, your grip on her waist hardening as you fought the urge to scoop her in your arms and kiss the pout away. You almost gave in to the urge when you felt her hands sneaking past the hem of your shirt to rest on the bare skin of your back, taking a deep breath you pulled her along to tell everyone you were leaving.
She fell asleep in the passenger seat of your car, your right hand tightly clasped between hers as she dozed off, quiet snores reaching your ears. You couldn't bring yourself to wake her up, instead carrying her to her apartment, barely managing to keep both of you upright as you unlocked the door with your key.
When you finally reached her bedroom she started to stir, turning her head from the spot on your shoulder to take in her surroundings. She let out a content breath at the sight of her bed, falling back against your shoulder, the grip she had on your neck was almost iron clad and you couldn't pry away no matter how hard you tried.
"Jenna," you stirred her gently, "Jen, let me go."
She hummed and pulled you against her, the two of you falling against the soft cushions.
It was the first time you slept in the same bed.
ĂĂĂ
"Wanna tell me about it?" Jasmine called the next morning, surprisingly chipper considering the amount of drinks she had yesterday.
"There's nothing to tell." You bit the inside of your cheek, sending a look to the girl slumped behind the counter.
She woke up with a nasty headache, groaning as she tried to shield her eyes from the sun with the back of her hand. You made fun of her only once, when you handed her water and Advil and immediately scurried away to make coffee when she threw a pillow in your face.
"Sure seemed like something," her tone was smug and you could already hear the start of her interrogation, but a groan from Jenna made her stumble over her words. It was way too quiet for a moment, before she finally screeched, "I knew it!"
Enduring her teasing turned out to be much easier than you thought, especially with Melissa's constant warning looks and Jenna's death glares sent her way whenever she as much as smirked at you. Eventually she relented, stomping her feet and grumbling about how unfun you were.
That left only Mason to torment your thoughts. He didn't do anything wrong. Hell, if anything, you were the one in the wrong with your unwarranted jealousy. But every time he stole Jenna from you during lunch, every time he jokingly jumped on her back between takes, both of them tumbling to the floor in heaps of laughter, made your chest constrict with that ugly feeling, leaving you to wallow in your misery as you tried your best to not pay attention to the pair.
You felt like shit every time he happily brought you sweets from the local bakery, pulling you tightly against his chest and ruffling your hair. He started doing that a long time ago, claiming it was his way to make you feel at home. It worked before, when you were blissfully unaware of your feelings towards a certain brunette, but now it left you feeling empty.
He was a great guy, anyone would be lucky to date him and the fact only spurred your jealousy even more.
You blinked when he waved at you, a confused expression on his face and you realized you were staring at him all this time.
"You spend a lot of time looking at him." A quiet voice came behind your shoulder.
You turned around to face Jenna, her stare so intense it almost made you look away. Almost.
"You spend a lot of time with him." You countered, crossing your arms.
Her brows knitted, frustration crinkling in her eyes. "That's what friends do."
You huffed, and finally looked away, the weight of her stare becoming too much for you to handle. "Right."
There was a blissful moment of silence before a chair scraped loudly against the floor.
"I'm going to kill you both," Melissa hissed, rising from her seat and throwing her script on the chair she occupied a second ago. "I'm this close," she pinched her thumb and forefinger until they were almost pressed, "to locking you two in some supply closet so you could finally figure this out. So please, please go away and talk like adults."
"We are talkingâŠ" you hesitantly spoke up, taking a step closer to Jenna.
The seething look the older woman sent your way almost made you stumble.
"We'll talk," Jenna cut in, taking you by the elbow and leading down the hall to a supply closet. The situation seemed so absurd you couldn't help but chuckle, Jenna's glare shutting you up not even a second later.
"Do you have feelings for him?" The words left her lips as soon as the door closed behind you.
You stopped dead in your tracks, staring at her, your mouth hanging open. The idea seemed so ridiculous you couldn't even form a sentence to deny it. She closed her eyes, crossing her arms against her chest. "So you do," she whispered, defeated.
And then it hit you.
She was jealous.
You thought back on the night she was drunk, the way she held you, not allowing you to look at him, demanding you to look at her instead, and today, when she caught you staring at him, she confronted you about it. You almost laughed at the absurdity of the situation.
The girl you fell in love with thought you were trying to steal her potential boyfriend.
You took a deep breath, blinking away the tears, your voice wavered, "I don't care about him like that." Her head shot up, her eyes focusing on your face swirled with emotion you couldn't decipher. You continued, holding her gaze, "You should go for it, though. He'd be lucky to have you."
No matter how much it hurt you to say this, you had to. He made her happy and she deserved to know she had nothing to worry about.
But as soon as the words left your lips you immediately knew it was the wrong thing to say.
"What? You think I have feelings for him?" She gaped, staring at you incredulously.
You didn't know why, but you felt really stupid at that moment. "...yes?"
She breathed in, and took measured steps towards you, leaving a few inches between you before reaching up to pull your face down, pinning you with her eyes. "And what? You want me to chase after him? Want to give me advice on how to get the man?" Her words were laced with something dangerous, and you felt like this moment was about to change your whole life.
You swallowed. "I- if that's what you want," you whispered.
She stared at you in silence for what felt like ages, before scoffing and turning around on her heel, stomping away and leaving you to your thoughts in the dimly lit space.
That was definitely the wrong thing to say.
"What the fuck did you do?" Melissa cornered you right after the filming wrapped for the day, tugging you by the elbow to her trailer, and pushing you on the uncomfortable couch.
"I think I screwed up."
"Yeah, no shit. Tell me everything."
And you did. You told her about the first time you caught yourself staring at Jenna, about the first night you spent at her apartment and the morning after that, full of soft smiles and gentle touches. You told her about the way you felt whenever you saw her wearing your clothes, how it made you giddy and full of hope. You told her about the first time you felt jealousy coursing through your veins, all those weeks ago when Mason snatched Jenna away for the first time. You told her how elated you felt when she fell asleep snuggled against you, snoring away in the crook of your neck. You wiped a stray tear and told her about what you said just hours ago.
"You're both idiots," she groaned, but pulled you into her arms, holding you tight while you tried to blink away the tears.
ĂĂĂ
It didn't get easier after that, if anything it all became even worse. Jenna avoided you like a plague, disappearing from sight when your eyes met, and hiding behind Mason whenever you tried to approach. You tried your best to not let the hurt show on your face, after all, you were the one to push them together, but judging by the worried look on his face, you did a very poor job.
Jasmine took it upon herself to lift your spirits, taking the empty spot by your side during lunch and carpooling with you after long days of shooting. You could see questions swimming in her eyes, could see the way her eyes darted to you whenever Jenna entered the room.
You couldn't answer her questions when you yourself didn't know the answer.
Jenna was supposed to be happy by now, but the dark circles under her eyes and slight tremble of her hands told you a different story.
You tried asking Melissa, but she just shook her head and rolled her eyes whenever you bugged her about it.
"Figure it out yourself," she said after two weeks of you begging her for answers.
You tried hard, you really did. Doesn't mean you were successful.
When the director mentioned a wrap party taking place next month, dread filled your stomach. With your mind constantly preoccupied with Jenna you didn't even notice how much time has passed.
It was time to do something.
"Are you stalking her now?" Mason asked you as he rounded his car after a long day of filming.
You blinked from your spot on the hood of Jenna's car. "Maybe."
He snorted, opening the door. "Just tell her already."
You tensed, knitting your brows. "What are you talking about?"
"Oh my god," he grumbled, throwing his head back to look at the night sky. He straightened then, and briskly walked up to you, taking hold of your shoulders. "She's in love with you." He punctuated each word with a shake to your shoulders.
He waited for you to process his words before he took a step back, watching the gears turn in your head.
You gulped, hopping off the hood, shaking your head in denial before thinking back on the conversation you had with Jenna a few weeks ago in that small supply room. The way she looked so small and defeated when she thought you had feelings for Mason, the way she stared at you when you told her she was wrong, waiting for you to say something before you screwed it all up.
Want you to look at me, she said all that time ago.
Oh God.
"She's in love with me," you whispered.
Mason almost jumped in relief, closing the distance between you in two short strides, and pulled you in his arms, pressing a kiss to your forehead, before he suddenly tensed, pushing you away. "I'll leave you to deal with that." He muttered before scurrying to his car and driving off in record time.
You looked behind your shoulder just in time to see Jenna approach you with pursed lips.
"What was that?" She asked, avoiding your eyes.
You turned around to face her, your lips stretching in a grin so wide it made you look like an idiot, or a love struck fool. You bounced on your heels, barely managing to stop yourself from lunging at the smaller woman, your eyes roaming around her form, drinking her in after so many days spent staring at her from across the room.
She finally looked up when silence stretched for a long awkward moment, her brows disappearing behind her bangs at your excited smile. A corner of her mouth went up almost unconsciously, your happiness so contagious she found herself relaxing.
And then she frowned. "What are you doing here?"
Under her scrutinizing gaze you felt like the air was sucked from your chest, but you braved on, taking the chance to make things right.
"Well, my original plan was to jump in the car with you, hoping you wouldn't throw me out." You began your rant, training your eyes on the small logo of her t-shirt. Your t-shirt, you realised after a second, the sight giving you enough confidence to look her in the eye. "I prepared this really long speech about my stupidity and jealousy clouding my thoughts and influencing my actions, and it ended in professing my feelings for you. My romantic feelings, just to be clear. Also there was a bit about fighting Mason for your affections, but it was recently pointed out to me that it's probably no longer necessary..." you trailed off, suddenly hesitant.
What if the weeks you spent gaining courage made her feelings change?
You took a deep breath and looked up just in time to see her throw herself at you, pulling you in a bruising kiss. You squeaked in surprise, eyes growing comically wide as she settled in your arms, her hands circling your neck to pull you impossibly closer.
Her lips felt like heaven, so soft and responsive and gentle, gliding against your own, her tongue swiping against your bottom lip, and then you were pushed against the hood of her car, her hands trailing down your body to hide beneath the fabric of your shirt, gripping at the burning skin of your waist hard enough to leave marks.
You pulled away for a breath, her body tensing before she saw the adoring look in your eyes and your blinding smile. "Do you want to hear the speech? I have it memorized." You asked, nuzzling your nose against her cheek.
"I want you to be quiet," she muttered, her fingers threading through your hair to pull you closer. "And you're on probation, by the way," she said, before pulling you in for another passionate kiss, pulling little whines and moans out of you as she dipped her other hand in the back pocket of your jeans, squeezing you possessively.
"Just to be clear," you mumbled between kisses, "I'm in love with you."
Her breath caught in her throat as she pulled away, looking up at you, her eyes wide and vulnerable. "Yeah?"
"Yeah." You pulled her against your chest, burrowing your face in her soft hair.
Later that night, when the two of you lay in her bed, trying to catch your breath, she burrowed into your side, mumbling something against you, her soft breath sending shivers down your spine.
"What was that?" You tugged her chin up.
Her eyes opened, alight with mischief. "I said I was the one to mail you the script."
"What? Why?"
She groaned, ducking her head. "They thought you'd never agree to a movie like that, completely disregarded my suggestion to ask you, but I had to try, so I stole the script and mailed it to you."
You bit your lip to keep yourself from grinning at her confession. "And why was it so important for me to be in this movie?"
"I wanted to meet you," she murmured, placing kisses over your collarbone, "because I've been enamored with you ever since Jasmine made me watch that stupid Marvel movie all those years ago."
You let out a surprised oh, your heart hammering against the ribcage and your mouth hanging open as you tried to process the information.
"Just to be clear..." Her hands came up to cradle your head, her thumbs trailing circles on the sensitive skin behind your ears, her eyes shining so brightly it felt like they lit the whole room. "... I'm in love with you, too."
ĂĂĂ
When you walked on set the next morning, your arm slung around her shoulders and her hand around your waist, almost everyone in the room let out a collective ear piercing squeal.

A Simchat Torah we can never forget
On the morning of October 7, 2023, Simchat Torah, the Jewish community faced its most horrific day since the Holocaust, with over 1,200 lives cruelly taken and many more held hostage. This tragedy has bonded us in deep collective sorrow.
As the Jewish world remains united in grief, we are challenged with the difficult question:
How do we move forward from such profound loss?
Can we dance? Should we dance?
October 2024 will mark the first Simchat Torah since the devastating events of October 7, 2023. Traditionally a day of joy, dancing, and celebration, this Simchat Torah will also serve as the first yahrzeit for the 1,200 victims and a time to honor the hostages and soldiers who have passed since that day.
Now the Jewish community faces profound questions: How should we respond? Is it possible to celebrate as we once did?
With tears in our eyes we will dance
The words of King Solomon in Kohelet, that we will read on Sukkot, offer us guidance: âThere is a time for everything under the Heavens⊠a time to mourn, and a time to dance.â Simchat Torah 2024 will be that time.
A Simchat Torah shared throughout the world
Synagogues around the world will open their Aron HaKodesh (Torah Ark) on Simchat Torah night and take out several Torah scrolls. One, or more, will be adorned with a new meâil (Torah cover), designed to mark the first yahrzeit of October 7th. This meâil will be identical to the ones which will be created for 1600 synagogues across the world. This beautifully designed meâil will proclaim that this Torah is dedicated in memory of the 1200 souls and the many soldiers and hostages who have since died, Al Kiddush Hashem.
Every Single Soul is an Entire Torah
Each Torah me'il will feature the name of one of the kedoshim (holy souls/victims) embroidered onto it. Communities around the world will dance with these Torah scrolls â thousands of communities, with hundreds of thousands if not millions of Jews being connected through this project. Each meâil (Torah cover) is embroidered with the flag of Israel along with the Pasuk from Kohelet, âThere is a time to mourn, and a time to danceâThe Front of the meâil (Torah cover) for both Ashkenazi and Sephardi TorahsThe Back is embroidered with the name of one of the souls of the many soldiers and hostages who have died, Al Kiddush Hashem since the events of October 7th.
United in sorrow. United in celebration.
The Jewish world will be unified, knowing that across the globe, Jews are dancing with Torah scrolls that collectively link us all with the events of October 7th, and inspire us to realize that âAm Yisrael Chai.â Synagogues will encourage their members to come and dance with the newly robed scroll, to remember the fallen, by holding their Torah high, so that they can say: âWe will not forget what happened on Simchat Torah last year, but we are determined to dispel the darkness with light.â
This project will symbolize the Jewish Peopleâs resilience, our ability to find hope in the face of tragedy.
Over 1600 communities across the globe will unite for Israel and the Jewish people.
My shul is partcipating in this. Thought I'd spread the word.

Alt Assistant AU Pt 2
Kara takes Lena's confrontation as a challenge. She's faced icy walls before-- she'll melt them again. But just as in the previous reality, Lena doesn't make it easy.
The pastries Kara begins delivering with Lena's coffee every morning go straight to the trash, every time, with a sharp look and an even sharper, "Don't."
Don't.
The word becomes Kara's frequent companion, issued any time she steps outside the bare minimum of her role.
Meals Lena doesn't order, but that Kara knows she likes-- don't.
A post it smiley note pressed to the cup of her coffee-- don't.
The snort when Kara hears a particularly cutting remark in response to a particularly sexist board member-- don't.
Kara's used to the rebuffs, as she's already weathered them before. But these are different. Before, in the previous reality that got so twisted, Lena's refusals were to protect herself, audibly defensive. But "don't".... Lena says it with an obstinance she's never had before.
But Kara doesn't mind it.
In fact, she relishes the opportunity to lift an arch brow in response to each of those stubborn don'ts, a challenge in her own right.
Try and stop me, it says, smug and confident in a way Kara hasn't felt in years. She has the knowledge of a whole reality behind her, and Lena.... Lena has no idea what's coming to her.
The fact that Lex hadn't seen fit to give her Supergirl in this reality only helps.
She's a little surprised that she feels this way, but also a little not. She's been tired for a long time, and had never been able to find the voice to ask for rest. Now she has it in spades, and uses it to research everything she can about Lena in this reality.
Each tidbit Kara learns warms her insides, in a way that was only ever a tickle before. That Lena is an Olympic medalist, and prodigious TedTalker. That her cancer research has served as the foundation for the world's bleeding edge developments on the subject, and that her nanites are already used in crisis areas around the globe.
That Jack Spheer lives, spearheading it all on Lena's behalf when L-Corp pulls her elsewhere.
She thinks to send him an alert to an upcoming gap in Lena's schedule while he's in town, knowing that Lena would have already declined to leave her office, but her finger hesitates on the send button.
Kara remembers much about the previous reality, including the way her stomach had burned that night in that restaurant, watching Lena's gaze spark with interest when Jack spoke of their project.
This time, she can do something about her jealousy-- she doesn't send the message.
"Don't," Lena issues pre-emptively the next morning, when Kara returns to clear signs of an all-nighter. Lena accepts the coffee, but as always dumps the pastry.
"Don't what?"
It pulls Lena's gaze to her, sharp and direct as always. It doesn't daunt Kara anymore. She almost smirks.
Lena's lips purse ever so slightly.
"You know what."
That's all she says, and this time Kara does smirk. She saunters back to desk, and feels Lena's gaze on her all the way out.

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
November 6, 2024
Heather Cox Richardson
Nov 06, 2024
Yesterday, November 5, 2024, Americans reelected former president Donald Trump, a Republican, to the presidency over Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. As of Wednesday night, Trump is projected to get at least 295 electoral votes to Harrisâs 226, with two Republican-leaning states still not called. The popular vote count is still underway.
Republicans also retook control of the Senate, where Democrats were defending far more seats than Republicans. Control of the House is not yet clear.Â
These results were a surprise to everyone. Trump is a 78-year-old convicted felon who has been found liable for sexual assault and is currently under indictment in a number of jurisdictions. He refused to leave office peacefully when voters elected President Joe Biden in 2020, instead launching an unprecedented attack on the U.S. Capitol to stop the counting of electoral votes, and said during his campaign that he would be a âdictatorâ on his first day in office. Â
Pollsters thought the race would be very close but showed increasing momentum for Harris, and Harrisâs team expressed confidence during the day. By posting on social mediaâwith no evidenceâthat the voting in Pennsylvania was rigged, Trump himself suggested he expected he would lose the popular vote, at least, as he did in 2016 and 2020.Â
But in 2024, it appears a majority of American voters chose to put Trump back into office.Â
Harris and her running mate, Minnesota governor Tim Walz, offered a message of unity, the expansion of the economic policies that have made the U.S. economy the strongest in the world in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and the creation of an âopportunity economyâ that echoed many of the policies Republicans used to embrace. Trump vowed to take revenge on his enemies and to return the country to the neoliberal policies President Joe Biden had rejected in favor of investing in the middle class.
When he took office, Biden acknowledged that democracy was in danger around the globe, as authoritarians like Russian president Vladimir Putin and Chinaâs president Xi Jinping maintained that democracy was obsolete and must be replaced by autocracies. Russia set out to undermine the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) that enforced the rules-based international order that stood against Russian expansion.Â
Hungarian prime minister Viktor OrbĂĄn, who overturned democracy in his own country, explained that the historical liberal democracy of the United States weakens a nation because the equality it champions means treating immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and women as equal to men, thus ending traditionally patriarchal society.
In place of democracy, OrbĂĄn champions âilliberal democracy,â or âChristian democracy.â This form of government holds nominal elections, although their outcome is preordained because the government controls all the media and has silenced opposition. OrbĂĄnâs model of minority rule promises a return to a white-dominated, religiously based society, and he has pushed his vision by eliminating the independent press, cracking down on political opposition, getting rid of the rule of law, and dominating the economy with a group of crony oligarchs.Â
In order to strengthen democracy at home and abroad, Biden worked to show that it delivered for ordinary Americans. He and the Democrats passed groundbreaking legislation to invest in rebuilding roads and bridges and build new factories to usher in green energy. They defended unions and used the Federal Trade Commission to break up monopolies and return more economic power to consumers.Â
Their system worked. It created record low unemployment rates, lifted wages for the bottom 80% of Americans, and built the strongest economy in the world in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, setting multiple stock market records. But that success turned out not to be enough to protect democracy.Â
In contrast, Trump promised he would return to the ideology of the era before 2021, when leaders believed in relying on markets to order the economy with the idea that wealthy individuals would invest more efficiently than if the government regulated business or skewed markets with targeted investment (in green energy, for example). Trump vowed to cut taxes for the wealthy and corporations and to make up lost revenue through tariffs, which he incorrectly insists are paid by foreign countries; tariffs are paid by U.S. consumers.Â
For policies, Trumpâs campaign embraced the Project 2025 agenda led by the right-wing Heritage Foundation, which has close ties to OrbĂĄn. That plan calls for getting rid of the nonpartisan civil service the U.S. has had since 1883 and for making both the Department of Justice and the military partisan instruments of a strong president, much as OrbĂĄn did in Hungary. It also calls for instituting religious rule, including an end to abortion rights, across the U.S. Part of the idea of âpurifyingâ the country is the deportation of undocumented immigrants: Trump promised to deport 20 million people at an estimated cost of $88 billion to $315 billion a year.Â
That is what voters chose.
Pundits today have spent time dissecting the election results, many trying to find the one tweak that would have changed the outcome, and suggesting sweeping solutions to the Democratsâ obvious inability to attract voters. There is no doubt that a key factor in votersâ swing to Trump is that they associated the inflation of the post-pandemic months with Biden and turned the incumbents out, a phenomenon seen all over the world.
There is also no doubt that both racism and sexism played an important role in Harrisâs defeat.Â
But my own conclusion is that both of those things were amplified by the flood of disinformation that has plagued the U.S. for years now. Russian political theorists called the construction of a virtual political reality through modern media âpolitical technology.â They developed several techniques in this approach to politics, but the key was creating a false narrative in order to control public debate. These techniques perverted democracy, turning it from the concept of voters choosing their leaders into the concept of voters rubber-stamping the leaders they had been manipulated into backing.Â
In the U.S., pervasive right-wing media, from the Fox News Channel through right-wing podcasts and YouTube channels run by influencers, have permitted Trump and right-wing influencers to portray the booming economy as âfailingâ and to run away from the hugely unpopular Project 2025. They allowed MAGA Republicans to portray a dramatically falling crime rate as a crime wave and immigration as an invasion. They also shielded its audience from the many statements of Trumpâs former staff that he is unfit for office, and even that his chief of staff General John Kelly considers him a fascist and noted that he admires German Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
As actor Walter Masterson posted: âI tried to educate people about tariffs, I tried to explain that undocumented immigrants pay billions in taxes and are the foundation of this country. I explained Project 2025, I interviewed to show that they supported it. I can not compete against the propaganda machines of Twitter, Fox News, [Joe Rogan Experience], and NY Post. These spaces will continue to create reality unless we create a more effective way of reaching people.âÂ
X users noted a dramatic drop in their followers today, likely as bots, no longer necessary, disengaged.Â
Many voters who were using their vote to make an economic statement are likely going to be surprised to discover what they have actually voted for. In his victory speech, Trump said the American people had given him an âunprecedented and powerful mandate.âÂ
White nationalist Nick Fuentes posted, âYour body, my choice. Forever,â and gloated that men will now legally control womenâs bodies. His post got at least 22,000 âlikes.â Right-wing influencer Benny Johnson, previously funded by Russia, posted: âIt is my honor to inform you that Project 2025 was real the whole time.âÂ
Today, Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump would launch the âlargest mass deportation operationâ of undocumented immigrants, and the stock in private prison companies GEO Group and CoreCivic jumped 41% and 29%, respectively. Those jumps were part of a bigger overall jump: the Dow Jones Industrial Average moved up 1,508 points in what Washington Post economic columnist Heather Long said was the largest post-election jump in more than 100 years.Â
As for the lower prices Trump voters wanted, Kate Gibson of CBS today noted that on Monday, the National Retail Federation said that Trumpâs proposed tariffs will cost American consumers between $46 billion and $78 billion a year as clothing, toys, furniture, appliances, and footwear all become more expensive. A $50 pair of running shoes, Gibson said, would retail for $59 to $64 under the new tariffs.
U.S. retailers are already preparing to raise prices of items from foreign suppliers, passing to consumers the cost of any future tariffs.Â
Trumpâs election will also mean he will no longer have to answer to the law for his federal indictments: special counsel Jack Smith is winding them down ahead of Trumpâs inauguration. So he will not be tried for retaining classified documents or attempting to overthrow the U.S. government when he lost in 2020.Â
This evening, Hungarian prime minister Viktor OrbĂĄn posted on social media that he had just spoken with Trump, and said: âWe have big plans for the future!âÂ
This afternoon, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke at her alma mater, Howard University, to concede the election to Trump.Â
She thanked her supporters, her family, the Bidens, the Walz family, and her campaign staff and volunteers. She reiterated that she believes Americans have far more in common than separating us.
In what appeared to be a message to Trump, she noted: âA fundamental principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results. That principle as much as any other distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny, and anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it. At the same time in our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or a party, but to the Constitution of the United States, and loyalty to our conscience and to our God.Â
âMy allegiance to all three is why I am here to say, while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fuels this campaign, the fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness and the dignity of all people, a fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best. That is a fight I will never give up.â
Harris urged people âto organize, to mobilize and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know we can build together.â She told those feeling as if the world is dark indeed these days, to âfill the sky with the light of a billion brilliant stars, the light of optimism, of faith, of truth and service,â and to let âthat work guide us, even in the face of setbacks, toward the extraordinary promise of the United States of America.âÂ

Pairings: Josh Kiszka X Fem reader
Warnings: this is pure filth! 18+ only!!, sex tapes, slight angst and insecurities, unprotected p in v sex, fingering, slight cum play
Like I said basically no plot here. All you need to know is in the tags above đ
Word count: 2.5k
It had started out as a simple complaint, not much of a complaint really just a grumble about only having a few more days together until Josh had to get on the road again to finish the tour.
This was commonstance by now over your years of dating. You would get a few beautiful months with him at home then things would start getting chaotically busy, a tour would be announced, or new dates would be released, and heâd be gone.
A handful of times you were able to go with him, live in his shoes for a while and it was glamorous, but also tiresome and draining all the same. This time around you had to stay home. Though you loved watching him and his brothers perform, you just had too much on your plate right now to take nearly six months off to travel across the globe and attend another show or festival at each turn.
âWe will get through this. We do every timeâ Josh assured you as he folded his hands around yours and kissed your cheek.
âI know,â you replied weakly, not wanting to make much of a deal about him leaving and instead spend more energy enjoying the time with your company you still had left. A dull ache between your legs persisted though. It never failed, every time Josh left you he always gave you one good night to hopefully hold each other over until the next time you could be together again. You knew this time wouldnât be any different, and as the days counted down you found yourself wanting him more and more, the anticipation of your inevitable last night together constantly clouding up your mind.
âBut what am I supposed to do while youâre gone?â
âGet some rest, go out with your friends, start a projectâ he listed off suggestions to keep yourself busy, especially since half the time he would be gone heâd be in completely different time zones, making staying in communication often somewhat difficult.
His concern for your wellbeing was sweet, but thatâs not what youâd meant. You couldnât wait any longer to have him. Today, tomorrow, and the day after, you didnât mind if you hit the sheets every night this week and maybe then your craving for him would be satisfied.
âNo Joshâ you peeped, pulling your hands from his gentle grip and sliding your palms up the tops of his thighs. âI mean what am I supposed to do without you?â You repeated, emphasizing your words so that way he knew you were trying to drop a hint.
âOhâ a smile spread across his face, revealing the tiny tooth gap you loved to see. âAbout that. I did have an ideaâ.
His grand gesture, you thought, he always had something up his sleeve. âIâm listeningâ you replied, nearly one hundred percent sure that anything Josh suggested you would be up for.
âWell I thought maybe youâd want to have something to use while Iâm gone if you needed to. We could preserve this night, only if youâre comfortable with it of courseâ.
You were not following him, and he could tell by the confused look on your face, but instead of coming right out with it he took your hand in his again and led you into the bedroom. Josh sat you on the edge of the bed and turned his back to open the top drawer of the dresser, rummaging around to the bottom of it until he found what heâd stashed inside. He turned back around slowly, keeping the item in his hands hidden behind his back. You could tell he looked excited, his round cheeks filling with color as he gathered up the courage to show you what he had in mind.
âWhat is it?â You finally begged him to reveal what he had, craning your neck to try and get a peak. Josh approached you slowly, his smile fading as he looked into your eyes. He pulled an empty hand out from around his back and used it to grip your chin with his thumb and index finger, tilting your head up slightly. âOnly if youâre comfortable with it darling okay?â
You nod your head in understanding when he dropped his hand then he moved his other arm from behind his back. You were almost unsure of what it was at first, but then it became blatantly obvious that the device he held in his hand was a fancy new video camera.
This was unexpected, not that Josh had bought a camera he had a collection of those, but what you knew he was suggesting. Something for you to use while Iâm gone. A sex tape?
âOkayâ you answered him before he even had to ask, though he could tell there was a little bit of hesitance in your voice.
âI think it will be fun, donât you?â He questioned instead, moving to sit next to you and show you a little bit about how it worked.
You watched him go through the settings, heard him talk about the specs and quality comparisons, but your head filled with little doubts. The first of which was what if it got out? You pushed that thought aside quickly, Josh was very private about his personal life and you were thankful for that. When he was on stage others could ogle at him and he could flaunt his shit like his brother had put it, but when he was home you were greedy and wanted him all to yourself. You trusted Josh to keep this safe just like he kept the rest of your life mostly under wraps.
After that internal debate your mind quickly moved onto the next concern. Heâd insinuated this was supposed to be for you, but you were unsure youâd ever want to watch yourself like that. Josh had sent sexy videos before while away and youâd long gotten over your reservations with phone sex, but even now you still felt slightly awkward about sending back videos of yourself. There was no real reason why. You knew Josh loved you and your body, but the little voice in your head was always still there no matter how worshiped Josh made you feel.
âHow about I set the mood a little bit?â Josh interrupted your thoughts, discarding the camera onto the bed behind him to focus back on you for a moment.
âYeah, that could helpâ you agreed, looking around the bedroom briefly to see if there was anything you could think of doing to help.
âIâm going to go get the candles, why donât you put something sexy on?â Josh asked delicately, still leaving room for you to change your mind.
A smile started to reappear to your face at the thought. You loved dressing up for him and just the image of watching his face light up when you stepped out in one of your lingerie sets made the fuzzy feeling in your stomach return. âI can do thatâ.
It came down to two pieces when you were trying to decide what to wear. Youâd taken the two with you into the bathroom to freshen up while Josh continued to set up the bedroom. After brushing your teeth again and applying some mild lotion all that was left was to change.
Both laid out on the bathroom counter, on the right was a simple sheer babydoll style dress with a matching lacy thong adorned with little bows. To the left was a more complicated corset style top with detachable garter straps and stockings. The latter was definitely sexier, and you knew Josh got wild when you came out in that, but then you remembered this was supposed to be for you and ultimately put on your first choice opting instead for comfort.
When you came out of the bathroom Josh was just finishing up lighting the candles. Heâd kept the bedside lamp on as well, but the corners of the room flickered with a warm glow all around you and the familiar scent of the candles youâd spent nearly half an hour picking out together filled your body with a sense of relaxation.
âWhere do you want me?â You got his attention as you leaned against the door frame and popped your hip out trying to look the part of lead actress in your little home movie.
âRight over here gorgeousâ he motioned for you to sit back down on the edge of the bed again and you followed his command without question. He was the director afterall. âGod youâre so sexyâ he admired you as you crawled onto the bed and sat up on your knees, spreading them wide so you could make some contact with your aching center.
Heâd changed as well, into a silk robe youâd gifted him nearly a year ago, but underneath the overlapped fabric at his waist you could see a bulge already appear. Josh caught you staring at it while he collected the camera again, turning it back on and getting it ready to start filming.
âIs my girl ready for my cock already?â He smirked, reaching down to palm himself.
âPlease Josh, Iâm so wetâ you begged just above a whisper. You mirrored his actions, letting your hand run down your body and between your legs.
âCâmereâ he groaned, slipping his hand past your ear and gripping the hair at the base of your neck to pull you into a deep kiss. âWhy donât you turn around for me?â He asked against your lips.
Again you did as he said, moving your knees to the edge of the bed where he stood and leaning over onto your elbows with your ass in the air.
A tiny yelp escaped you when Josh unexpectedly leaned over and mouthed at your center, kissing and licking over the barely there fabric of your thong until your entrance was throbbing for him to enter you with whatever he would give you. His tongue, his finger, his cock, youâd take any relief at this point.
âSorry, just had to taste you real quickâ he chuckled as he felt you trying to clench around nothing, but pulled back and untied his robe. âIâm gonna start filming now okay?â
âGo ahead Josh, Iâm readyâ you pushed your hips back, feeling his fully hardened length poking against the back of your thigh.
In one of his many voices that always made you giggle he responded, âwell in that case action darling, action!â
You cried out as he used his free hand to hook his thumb around your underwear and pulled it to the side, pushing into you and immediately going in balls deep to hit deep inside you.
âGod baby youâre going to love this viewâ he commented from behind as he pounded into you, angling his camera to get a good shot of his length sliding in and out.
âYou feel so goodâ you moaned, resting your cheek against the bed as you balled the blanket around you up into your fists as you started to grind back onto him.
âAnd you feel devineâ he sighed, letting his head fall back for a moment to revel in the sensation of your ass bouncing off him knowing full well heâd have the opportunity to watch back what heâd missed later. âLook at you so eager to have me get you there. I can feel you soaking meâ
Your eyes rolled into the back of your head as he took over again, starting to pound into you at an even faster pace. It felt mind numbingly good to the point you almost forgot he was filming behind you and you lifted your body enough to get your arm underneath so you could get your fingers on your clit.
âThatâs it, touch yourself baby. Cum all over my cock nice and prettyâ.
You realized then when his voice sent another surge of arousal to you that if there was a time you couldnât get a hold of Josh and you needed him, then you would have this video with his seductive fucked out voice all over it telling you to cum for him. That was all you needed to send you over the edge now, crying out again as your knees started to quiver and slip.
Onehandedly Josh held you up by your hip and continued his thrusts, though they were starting to become uneven. âGonna cum too. Want to fill my girl up and make her feel wholeâ.
âPlease Josh cum in meâ you begged, knowing that would give him plenty of nights worth of jack off material.
You felt him release inside you after he delivered one final blow, his grip on you tightening as his body shivered until he came down. He pulled out slowly, making sure to crouch down and record the way you dripped with both your releases running down your thighs before putting your underwear back in place.
âThat was really hotâ you grinned as you rolled over onto your back.
âI knew it would beâ Josh chuckled as he safely turned the camera off and placed it onto the dresser.
âNo like, really hot, like Iâm still hornyâ. Your body felt weak, and your head still spun from your first orgasm, but the throbbing and tingling in your core hadnât gone away yet.
Josh crawled onto the bed and laid down on his side next to you, kissing your shoulder and playing with the bows on your sheer dress. âDo you want me to make you cum again?â He asked dutifully. There was no way he was about to leave his girl unsatisfied.
You turned your head to look over at him, a silent plea in your eyes as your lips quivered. He leaned over and kissed you on the mouth this time, slipping his tongue inside which only got you more worked up. âI have always wanted to do thisâ he began, his hand trailing down your body until he was pulling your dress up.
He moved to sit up, pulling your underwear off and spreading your legs back open for him as he slipped two fingers inside you. You let out a sigh, wiggling your hips down to settle onto his hand.
âWant to finger my cum back into youâ he groaned, no longer semi focused on holding the camera and now fully involved in giving you another orgasm.
His fingers slipped out coated in your slick, and he gathered up his release that had spilled out earlier then pushed back into you, curling them up to that spot he knew would have you unraveling soon.
Just before you could gather up the coherence to touch yourself again his mouth was back on you, tongue circling your clit.
âJosh fuckâ you moaned sinfully, feeling his head nodding vigorously to show you he knew you were close.
Within seconds you were coming undone, this wave of pleasure crashing into you and taking you completely under until you had to come up for air.
âThank you babyâ you smiled dopily as he emerged from between you legs looking absolutely wrecked.
âSo, if you liked it does this mean we can make more?â

I didnât watch the golden globes but I did look it up after to celebrate ayo edibiris win and itâs disgusting that they forced that girl to look at Jeremyâs Calvin Klein ad THREE separate times throughout the night despite clearly stating that was her coworker and being uncomfortable. PLEASE!!! this girl just made a fantastic movie (Bottoms) and was about to win for the Bear as well as having numerous other cool projects she associated with. Other people get interview questions about themselves and she is so funny and interesting, could they not ask her anything else?!?! Like that was so rude and disrespectful to her talent.

oh, icarus! for all you have fallen, still you flew! and for a moment, the sun knew of you, too.
âyn, you're here?â your friend snaps her fingers in front of you, making you blink twice. âi'm having a collapse,â you confess, grabbing your head. âoh, no, i think i'm having a panic attack.â your eyes widening as the realization hit you in the stomach. âyeah... can you have it later? we're in the middle of something.â you laugh, tense. âi mean, what's going on? we've been here before,â she wanders around, as the lineup moves. âlike, past year, you forgot?â you shake your head, a glimpse of a smile slowly dancing on your lips.
of course you remember.
last summer was the best summer of your life. after you have studied all year for your final exams at university, you and your friend went on a summer trip full of concerts and traveling around the globe. it was a rewarding experience for passing all your exams with good grades and saving money on your part-time job. it didn't matter what concerts you were attending. imagine dragons, coldplay, taylor swift... after a whole year of working hard, it was kind of a present from you to yourself. forgetting completely about college, both of you had a great time last year.
one night you two bumped into a concert having a place in your city. your friend immediately wanted to go, and consequently, dragged you with her. since your motto was <enjoy the summer as if it was your last> you didn't waste time and started to feel the vibe of the moment. letting yourself go.
a guy caught your attention that night. spending all evening looking at him in awe. amazed. later that night, you were sure his gaze was fixed on you. stealing glances from time to time, your heart beating so fast in your chest from the arousal. when the concert was over, he invited you to come with him.
his voice was low and raspy, like a shot of rum. and later that night, you knew his breathing was sharp and heavy. arms covered in veins, body sculpture, and chiseled by some divine god. eyes so dark you are scared to drown in the void of his pupils. nose long and manly that still makes you wet your underwear. you let him have you that night. a couple times.
âoh, god, i lost you again.â your friend rolls her eyes. âwhat's the deal with you?â.
âsorry, i got lost in my thoughts,â you reply, advancing with the line. your friend gives you a look. âyou sound flustered,â she notices, smiling. âstop that,â you cut her off, hearing his laugh. âi mean, i'm a human, i'm nosy,â she defends herself. âwhat if i wanna know what happened?â ânothing happened,â you answer. she huffs. âlies.â
once inside, you and your friend go to the right side of the scenario. âyou never told me about that guy you met last year,â she comments. âyou know... your first time.â she adds. âoh, what if he's here tonight?â her eyes wides. âcould be,â you say, distracted. âthat's why you've been smiling so hard, i just know it.â she laughs. âi kinda wanna meet this sex god that has you smiling like an idiot.â you join her and laugh. your smile dies in your lips as the bitterness hit you. chest starting to hurt. what if he doesn't remember you? what if he doesn't want to see you? your fingers start to fidget the moment the lights go out.
and there he is again. the warmth expanding in your chest when your eyes manage to find him. he looks the same as always. ethereal. unreachable. magical. your eyes opening, trying to grasp everything. frame it in your head. tattoo it. he doesn't look at you. his eyes sweep the whole place with parsimony, but his eyes don't find yours. and the flame in your chest spreads. wanting. wishing. your muscles move on their own as you stand up, without worrying about how ridiculous you are trying right now. but your attempt worked. and now his eyes lock with yours. and you feel like you're holding your breath, yearning.
is this how icarus felt when he approached the sun? this burnt feeling through the limbs, only to find out he was burning inside out? suddenly falling (in love) with joy because, for a moment, he was close to the sun?.
his eyes weigh down when he looks at you. charged with a deep feeling, an unknown emotion. licking his lips as he sinks into his thoughts, imagining. his hectic breathing makes him look attractive. his skin glowing with sweat. flexed arms looking bigger; the memory of them holding you tightly as he penetrated you with care. you bite your lip instinctively, and you see him spasm where he stands.
both of you don't think you can hold it anymore.
the hours pass slowly. a torture for you, already waiting for him. your fiery pussy wet by your violent desires. lips part open as you breathe fast and superficial. he disappears behind backstage and doubt freeze you right where you are. wondering if you imagined it all. until a message.
j: you free?
âno. fucking. way.â you shush her watching her open her mouth, in disbelief. âyou're texting jeno!?â she whispers, and you nod. âwait, what? hold on.â her eyes sparkle. âso this mysterious guy is the one and only jeno lee?â you roll your eyes. âjeez, you'll let everyone know.â she glances at your phone. âwell, you better go, right?â she says. âwait, you're not coming with me?â you ask, worried. âi mean, i don't see any threesome word anywhere, so yes, i'm leaving,â she says, âyou better show off. tell me all about it tomorrow,â she demands, walking away. âeh, can i have an autograph, perhaps?â she jokes, before winking. you watch her leave before responding to the message.
you: always.
even up close, your eyesight doesn't do justice to his beauty. he had a shower before you arrived. water pearls forming in his jet-black hair. his hands guide you to a wall before attacking your lips fervently. with sharp and hungry movements, he devours your mouth with desperation. leaving you breathless. the kiss breaks enough to take a breath of air, a thread of saliva connected to your lips due to arousal. feeling his tongue make its way through your mouth, flicking and moving, causing your arousal released in your core. âi want you,â you whisper in his mouth, feeling his hands running over you. âhow much?â he breathes. your hands guide one of his hands under your skirt. his palm rests in your pussy. wetness going through the fabric. a filthy groan leaves his mouth. âtake it off for me, angel.â
you do as you're told. lowering your underwear to your ankles and picking it up from the floor. you hand it to him, watching him bring your underwear to his face, sniffing your scent. âcute,â he says, before he kisses you. hands finding the buttons of your shirt, undressing you. leaving quick pecks on your lips, he guides you to his hotel bed. you drop yourself on the surface, staring intently at him standing in front of the bed. âshow me how much you want me.â his glossy eyes darken at the sight of you spreading in the bed as you do what he wants. your black skirt lifted up, showing your wet pussy. your fingers slide between your folds, before inserting two in your cunt, remembering the times you touched yourself thinking it was him.
your head pulls back, eyes shut, feeling a sweet warmth in your intimate area. your mouth opening to let out little gasps, while your fingers move rhythmically and quickly in and out of your pussy, hitting hardly your spot. âjen-o,â you pant with a whine. the only mention of his name on your glossy lips makes his dick twitch inside his pants. he sits in the bed, eyes glued on your fingers stroking your cunt. your back arch as you feel the flames spreading inside you, his hands stopping you from reaching your climax. a wave of spasms shakes your body, as you bite your lips, opening your eyes, before he uses the same hand that pulled out your fingers from your pussy to insert his own. âlet me.â
his movements are by far more precise and agile than yours. his long fingers going in and out, as you stirred and hissed and twitched your face in pleasure under the blackhair's gaze. his free hand goes to your collarbone, restraining you from moving under his touch. the wet sounds filling the room with your whimpers and moans, feeling his fingers increase intensity and speed, driving you insane, making a mess of babbling and incoherent words. your eyesight going black when he hit your sweet spot repeatedly, limbs going numb, before the fire pools and spread in your core, to the rest of your body. legs pressing together as he keeps flicking his fingers inside, your walls contracting and pulsing in his digits.
he lets you go to lick your arousal from his fingers, humming in an instance. âso sweet.â he states. âfuck, let me taste a little more.â you feel his breath in your pussy, before his tongue wipes out your sensitive core. your hands go to his hair, feeling him licking and sucking you. your legs spread open, as he dives into your pussy with heavy breath.
he detaches from your pussy and sits up on the bed. his hands seek yours and climb you on his lap without difficulty due to your muscles still stiff, body feeling lightweight. he kisses your neck and lips. hands disappearing under your skirt sensing his fingers testing your ass, sliding his index finger along the length, until finding your hole, inserting his digit with a quick move. your body stutter as the warm feeling embraces you, starting to wiggle while his finger fucks you. it's a new feeling for you, arching your back due to the strange pleasure that hits you. starting to grind against his lap. his free hand goes to your back, unfastening your bra. his thumb rubs circles in your nipple while his mouth wraps the other one, sucking gently.
he stops his fingers while lifting you with one arm enough to pull down his pants. âare you gonna be a good girl and ride this dick? mmm.â you nod effusively. he releases his length and it hit your leg, twitching. your hands go to your skirt, but he stops you, âleave it on, you look cute.â glancing at his bulge you think that it must hurt him. so you don't waste time after he puts a condom in, taking it on your hands and plunging it inside, already craving it. a sweet burn embraces your pussy due to his thickness. stretching you out. adjusting and wriggling on his length. jeno lets out a rasping grunt before he makes you bounce on his lap. pounding into his dick, your vision fades to black, sensing the waves of pleasure washing you. your breathy moans and soft whines mixing with his guttural sounds. kissing his lips, grinding against him. awakening all your nerve endings.
you contract your walls feeling his dick twitch, before pushing it deeper, the dizziness clouding your senses as you go up and down, constantly hitting your core, almost seeing stars. âfuck, i'm gonna cum.â his raspy voice warns. you go faster and harder, riding him to his climax. feeling his dick, pulsating against your walls, you grind him, rocking your hips back and forth, feeling his cock still hard. your moves becoming sloppy the more you approach your orgasm, finally exploding and throbbing around his length.
you pant, exhausted. feeling mind blurry and body buzzing on top of him.
âsit on my face,â he hisses, lifting you up with ease. his body rests on the mattress as you climb to his chest, hands holding you for support before you sit down on his face. nose rubbing your clit.
you let out a little moan before you start moving. his hands holding your thighs tightly while you rock your hips into his face. tongue licking along your folds, nose stroking your clit, grinding against him, mixing your juices with his saliva. his warm breath hitting your core sweetly while he mumbles âtaste so good.â speeding your moves as the knot in your stomach tightens. quivering and crying out because his tongue feels so good, before releasing your extasis in his mouth. your orgasm washes you over, dissolving in shockwaves.
you stroke his hair while he force you to rock your hips along his mouth. feeling so satisfied it hurts. âs-too much...â you cry, trying to stop him from moving you, but he's stronger, so it doesn't happen. âgo on, darling, a little more.â he mutters into your core, sending shivers through your body due to the sensation. you swallow, deeply. âlet me... i want to taste you too, â you confess, fluttering your eyes because of how sensitive you were.
you hop off his body and drop your knees in front of him.
holding his cock in your hands, starting to move them up and down. he's already hard. you strike your tongue along his length, hearing his throaty breathing. âput it in your mouth, yeah?â he urges you. your warm mouth receives his cock with pleasure. sucking gently and watching him stare at you while you do it. tongue going to the underside of his shaft before returning to the tip, swollen and red. inserting it with ease until it hits the back of your throat. âyou're taking it so well,â he says, breathy. you hum with his cock still in your mouth, causing him to swear. watching him so needy and agitated for you. oh, you wish you were the only one who could see him like that. his cock feeling so good, his tip resting on your tongue as you stroke him. feeling his flavourful seed spilling in your mouth before you swallow it.
you get up from the ground wiping the corner of your lips, staring at him, seeking his approval. âhave i done it right?â you wonder. his hand caressed your cheek before sliding into your mouth. âmmm,â he grants. he taste himself on your lips.
ânow, all fours on the bed. i'd like to destroy you a few times more.â strocking his length.
you feel him settle behind you, and you don't have time to get ready when his cock buries inside with a hard move. body propelled forward. his hands hold you in place before he starts to smack his hips against yours, pounding at a slow and hard pace, making you feel demolished. gasping with each thrust, your body collapses between the sheets, before he uses his strength to make you arch your back. mumbling and babbling like a fool, brainwashed by the way he's fucking you. your whole body shivering due to the overwhelming feeling of his cock sliding in and out of your abused pussy. âfu-uck.â biting your lips and rolling your eyes to the back of your head, spinning. your pulsing walls wrapping him tight while he curses a lot.
a few more thrusts are done before you release yourself around him. your limbs numbing with a white feeling. mouth part open letting out incoherent words, mind going blank. you feel his grip on your legs, turning you around, now facing him. âwant to stop?â he asks, hovering over you and leaving kisses on your neck and chest. his eyes meeting your eyes, watching you smile languidly shaking your head. he smiles before he pulls in. âgood girl.â

EXCLUSIVE: One year ago we told you that a second season of John le Carré adaptation The Night Manager was quietly being developed under the codename Steelworks.
Now, Deadline can reveal that the BBC and new co-pro partner Amazon have gone big on a supercharged two-season order of the thriller, with Tom Hiddleston returning to lead, Hugh Laurie coming back as EP and with a new director in I Hate Suzieâs Georgi Banks-Davies. A third season has also been greenlit. David Farr returns as writer and Stephen Garrett is showrunner.
The Night Manager Season 2 will begin filming later this year and will pick up with Hiddlestonâs Jonathan Pine eight years after the explosive finale of Season 1, going beyond the original book, which was written by the celebrated British writer in 1993. Additional plot details are being kept under wraps and there is not yet confirmation as to whether EP Laurieâs Richard Roper, who was last seen in the back of a paddy wagon driven by arms buyers who were not best pleased with him, will return to star. Hiddleston will also EP and will discuss in more depth on tonightâs Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Produced by The Ink Factory in association with Character 7, Demarest Films and 127 Wall, and in co-production with Spanish partner Nostromo Pictures, The Night Manager Season 2 was sold to Amazon by Fifth Season. The first was co-produced with AMC.
New director Banks-Davies, a BAFTA-nominee who takes over from Susanne Bier, has credits including I Hate Suzie, Garfield and upcoming Netflix series Kaos.
The Night Manager Season 1 was a huge success, watched by millions and winning multiple BAFTAs, Emmys and Golden Globes including best actor for Hiddleston. Also starring Tom Hollander, Olivia Colman and Elizabeth Debicki, it followed Pine â who ran a luxury hotel in Cairo â as he attempted to infiltrate the inner circle of Roperâs crime syndicate after being hired by Foreign Office task force manager Angela Burr.
The first season was commissioned more than 10 years ago and the show has since been remade in India, lapping the UK version by swiftly having a Season 2 greenlit for Disney+ Hotstar in May last year.
Simon Cornwell and Stephen Cornwell, le CarrĂ©âs sons who run The Ink Factory, said Season 1 proved âa landmark moment for the golden era of television â uniting on-screen and behind-the-camera talent at the top of their game â and an audience reception which was beyond our wildest imagining.â
They added: âRevisiting the story of Pine also means going beyond the events of John le CarrĂ©âs original work: that is a decision we have not taken lightly, but his compelling characters and the vision David has for their next chapter were irresistible.â
Amazon MGM Studios Head of Television Vernon Sanders said: âWe are elated to bring additional seasons of The Night Manager to our Prime Video customers. The combination of terrific source material, the wonderful team at The Ink Factory, a great writer in David Farr, an award-winning director in Georgi Banks-Davies, as well as the talented cast truly make the series the full package.â
Hiddleston said: âThe first series of The Night Manager was one of the most creatively fulfilling projects I have ever worked on. The depth, range and complexity of Jonathan Pine was, and remains, a thrilling prospect.â
BBC content boss Charlotte Moore added: âAfter years of fervent speculation Iâm incredibly excited to confirm that The Night Manager is returning to the BBC for two more series.â
The Night Manager series two is created and executive produced by Farr, based on the characters created by le Carré. Additional executive producers include Garrett for Character 7, Banks-Davies, Laurie and Hiddleston; Joe Tsai and Arthur Wang for 127 Wall; Stephen and Simon Cornwell, Michele Wolkoff, and Tessa Inkelaar for The Ink Factory; Adriån Guerra for Nostromo Pictures; William D. Johnson for Demarest Films, Nick Cornwell, Susanne Bier, Chris Rice for Fifth Season and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC.

GQ Magazine Interview (2024)
Itâs about four hours before the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked, and the actor Jonathan Bailey, whoâs playing the male lead Fiyero in the feverishly-anticipated movie musical, is busy⊠playing Lego?
âIâm currently constructing,â he tells me, âthe Atlantic Ocean of a globe, which I'm building as I travel around the globe [for Wicked].â
In a sunny Santa Monica hotel, in the middle of a whirlwind international promo tour for Wickedâdirector Jon M. Chuâs screen adaptation of the megahit Broadway musical, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivoâthe award-winning star of Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers says that playing with Lego has become one of the things helping him stay centered. âLegoâs 18+ Adult level, that's what gets me going these days,â he says.
It is, after all, a high-stakes moment for Bailey. Fan expectations for Wicked are sky-high, and every detail of the projectâs rollout has been the subject of intense scrutiny.
Even Baileyâs seemingly innocuous decision to wear shorts to a photocall for Wicked in Australia made waves, and photos of Bailey in black pleated shorts and a sheer black long-sleeved polo by Giuliva Heritage quickly went viralâthe gams seen âround the world.
âThe idea of a very relaxed, elevated day look is something I've always enjoyed,â Bailey tells me, about the fit. âAnd of course, in Sydney and down under, we should be showing down under.â
âIt's funny,â he continues. âSometimes, you feel like what you decide to wear chooses you. The waist, the cut of the trouser, the pleat, and the waistâit made me feel very elegant.â
When the photos spread on social media, comments sections buzzed with people wondering about Baileyâs leg workout. Inquiring minds want to know: how does the Winkie prince get those legs?
âWell, they should be dancing from a very young age,â he says, laughing. âIt's encouraging your sons to dance and do ballet. I played rugby growing up as well, and I play a lot of tennis now. I did ballet for a good few years, and I think the way that the body responds to that and gymnastics, I think, that's the key⊠Lots of handstands and deep squats.â
Another moment on the press tour thatâs already gone viral is a video where Bailey talks about a small travel mishap during pre-production, in which every part of his Fiyero costume wound up stuck in airport limboâexcept the footwear. "There's an amazing photo,â Bailey teases in the clip, âthat no one's ever gonna see of me, in nothing but my boots, which sort of felt right for Fiyero somehow.â
When I bring it up, he reiterates firmly: âNever to be seen.â But maybe, I propose, that photo finally makes an appearance in a future museum retrospective on his career, the kind Londonâs Victoria and Albert Museum does for Britainâs most iconic performers? âLiterally, let's not get ahead of ourselves,â he says, laughing. âThere'll be maybe some shed in the Cotswolds that will be some sort of weird relic to my former career. Maybe it will be laminated there.â
Itâs been exciting to watch Baileyâs red-carpet evolution in the last few years. Early in his career, the actor mainly stuck to more traditionally buttoned-up suit-and-tie looks. But recently, thereâs a newfound confidence and playfulness to his red carpet style, a willingness to flip some red carpet traditionsâand a frisky inclination to show off that body.
Part of that confidence has to do with just how fit the actor is. âI probably am in the best shape I've ever been,â he says. But it goes deeper than that: âI honestly think it reflects a confidence in identity, in one's self,â he says. âYou realize how important it is just to be completely yourself.â
âJonny is a whimsical, mischievous delight, so we try to show that through his sartorial choices,â says Emma Jade Morrison, his stylist. âHe is joyful and cheeky, with an old soul, so I love to modernize classic shapes through colors, materials and saucy bits of skin.â
For the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked last night, Bailey once again turned heads in an exciting ensembleâthis time, in custom Versace, in a slinky, body-caressing chainmail shirt paired with immaculately white trousers, ruby-red slippers and a poppy boutonniere. (The cherry on top? A mischievous tuft of chest hair peeking out from that Versace shirt.)
âIt was Donatellaâs idea to allow me to wear the chain mail, the iconic Versace chain mail,â he says. âIt's so part of the Versace DNA, and I wanted that DNA pumping around my veins tonight. It's a beautiful thing to wear.â
Bailey, who calls himself âobsessedâ with the â90s, remembers the iconic image of Kate Moss in a Versace chainmail dress from 1999. âThe thing that I remember is the way that it clings to the form of the body. It feels sculptural and sexy,â he says. âAll I can see is the way she moved, [the way it] caressed every nook and curve and cranny⊠I'm excited to be celebrating nooks and crannies tonight.â
âFrom my moodboard, Donatella and her team honed in on two images of Errol Flynn and Cary Grant and put their iconic Versace twist on them,â Jade Morrison tells me. âWe kept the shapes classic and the shirt a bit slouchy to stay true to Jonnyâs style. There is literally no material as sexy as Versace chainmail and using chainmail felt like a princely nod to the Winkie Prince.â
âWe loved the red slippers with the poppyâas Dorothy says, thereâs no place like home, especially since the LA premiere was the weekend before Remembrance Day in the U.K.,â Morrison continues. âVersace also made us a Winkie Prince bomberâa perfect ode to varsity jackets of the 1930s and something that Fiyero would absolutely wear himself.â
âThat's the thing about Wicked, and that's the thing about Oz,â Bailey adds. âIt's like visually and thematically so inspiring to so many generations that when you work with creators like Donatella, and you work with fashion houses who have so much to say and [we have] so much respect [for] and so much in archive that we feel so nostalgic about these fashion pieces, it's like everyone just goes off like fireworks. And you come up with something incredible.â
Last time Bailey and I spoke, we were doing a mini pub crawl through Manhattanâs West Village with his Fellow Travelers co-star Matt Bomer last year, to talk about their work on the acclaimed series. During that interview, Bailey talked about the tricky balance he had to strike in order to shoot Wicked, Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers simultaneously. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, he sees how the projects inadvertently informed each otherâand emboldened him as an actor.
âI just look back on Fellow Travelers with such fond memories,â he tells me now. âThe confidence in telling that story, I think, is actually present throughout Fiyero. Wicked is so about identity. The resonance of the themes is even louder I think on film... Playing Tim [on Fellow Travelers] just beforehand allowed me to sort of maybe expand the part in a way that I wouldn't have done otherwise.â
At Wickedâs Sydney premiere last week, Bailey experienced a full circle moment that left him in tears. âI sat with my sister, whoâs based in Sydney, and had my two nieces watching it for the first time in front of an audience. And I felt a volcanic sense of emotion,â he says.
âMe and my sister went to the back and had a pint and we both just had a good cry. What Jon Chu has achieved in this film is exactly the sort of cinematic experience, that my whole entire family loved [when I was] growing up, and it's what inspired me in the first place to want to [become an actor].â
At 36, Bailey is a veteran of the stage and the screenâheâs stolen scenes in Phoebe Waller-Bridgeâs acclaimed pre-Fleabag series Crashing, held his own with Patti LuPone in a revival of Stephen Sondheimâs Company, and broken hearts in his award-winning turn on Fellow Travelers. But heâs hardly jaded and still finds himself overcome with emotion during various career milestones. âThe wonder hasn't left me,â he says.
Itâs that same wonder he hopes to impart to young viewers watcing Wicked. âThe idea that some lads somewhere might turn to their mom and dad and go, âI really want to danceâ? That's what it's all about.â
âAnd also,â he says, with a laugh, âthey'll get bloody good legs in the process.â

âWe are being led to our slaughter. This has been theorized in a thousand ways, described in environmental, social, and political terms, it has been prophesied, abstracted, and narrated in real time, and still we are unsure of what to do with it. The underlying point is that the progress of society has nothing to offer us and everything to take away. Often it feels like we are giving it away without a fight: when we sell our time for money, allow our passions to be commodified, invest ourselves in the betterment of society, or sustain ourselves on the spoils of ecological destruction, we openly (though not consensually) participate in our own destruction.â â Serafinski, Blessed is the Flame, An introduction to concentration camp resistance and anarcho-nihilism
Civilizationsâ death culture of accumulation, exploitation and consumerism, at whatever the cost is at its final stages spreading war and ecocide to every corner of the globe.
It has turned individuals into consumerist herds of wage slaves making us all addicted to some degree or other waiting for the false promises that will never be delivered for most.
How many individuals do actually want to work? I know I donât. How many actually find pleasure in it having to repeat day after day, after day? Or have to give up on achieving their dreams, or sell themselves in the hope of reaching them?
This is the culture which creates the conditions of refugees fleeing the carnage of war having to walk across a continent to find safety, a better life for themselves and their family all the while begrudging fools would rather see them drown in the medaterian sea along with their children on dinghies so packed with desperate individuals it sinks.
While taking part in solidarity projects Iâve seen mothers in France having to live in muddy fields infested with rats, flimsy tents as protection from the elements. Small groups huddle around fires trying to catch some heat. Babies cries can be heard across the camp. Iâve seen the muddy swamp-like trails that weave through the refugee camp full of rat footprints and urine which appear each morning after the nightâs darkness has gone. The very same conditions a 100 years earlier, as the first world war raged on, in the exact same location individuals from lower classes fought it out, blowing each other to smiderians all so wealthier classes could expand their riches!
This is the same culture which creates the conditions for a homeless crisis and makes it socially acceptable for individuals to be left to freeze to death on streets in shop doorways in Dublinâs city centre. Iâve seen the tent cities, the ques of soup kitchens, the desperate.
Society finds this all morally acceptable. The contradiction of civilization couldnât be any clearer, on the one hand there is riches and wealth beyond beleaf and on the other hand there is poverty and exploitation inflicted beyond comprehension. This is the land of despair, cruelty, and greed.
