The Ultimate Story the Beginnings Chapter 16-The Birth of the Friendly 5

Within the next several days, Misty, Bubbles, Ribbon and Peach got to know their new friend, Bow. They spent a lot of hours talking to her about each other as she talked about herself. They had a lot of fun talking to each other and spent a great deal of time getting to know each other better. They talked about everything that they have been through, including finding Misty and awakening her dormant powers, as well as telling her about Misty’s fairy and princess training. She was also comfortable enough to show Bow her secret transformation powers and told her to keep them a secret, with Bow gladly obliged. The 5 of them were soon becoming very close friends.

As Fox watched Misty and the girls mingle with one another, he felt happy for her. He continued watching them day by day. One day, they approached him. Misty: “Hi, Fox.” Fox: “Hey, Misty. What’s up?” Misty: “Well, the 5 of us have so much in common. We’re sweet.” Bubbles: “We’re friendly.” Ribbon: “We’re fun-loving.” Peach: “We’re courteous.” Bow: “And we’re full of surprises.” Misty: “We enjoy our time together so much that we decided to form a group together.” Fox: “Sounds great. So what are you going to call your group?” Misty: “Well, we have been trying to find a name that would confirm our common qualities. Since we all have friendly personalities, we have decided that we would call ourselves (with Bubbles, Ribbon, Peach and Bow) The Friendly 5.” Fox: “That’s great. I’m so glad to see that you girls are having so much fun.” Bubbles: “We are.” Ribbon: “We were able to find out so much about each other.” Peach: “Each of us have been through so much and we all want an opportunity to have some fun.” Fox: “You know what? I will support you girls with anything that you want to do.” Bubbles: “Sounds great.” Peach: “We knew that you would say that, so we want you to be the first ever Friendly 5 supporter.” Fox: “Really?” Misty: “Sure, you have been so encouraging towards me during my fairy and princess trainings. I would love it if you would become our supporter. You mean so much to me.” Fox: “Gee, thanks, Misty. But nothing would make me happier than to see you surround yourself with things that bring you so much joy.” Misty: “Aw, Fox.”

As they smiled at each other, Peach definitely began to notice something.

Later on, they talked to Fox about all of the wonderful things that they wanted to do together. They told him that they want to make people happy with their cheerfulness. They also loved to throw parties, which is something Fox thought was a wonderful idea. As they continued on, they showed him some dance moves they did together. They also planned on singing as a group, which he was all for. He felt that the girls deserved to have some fun, especially Misty, who has been very busy with her training. He knew very little about singing and dancing, but is more than willing to help them out however he could. He helped a lot with building their confidence, telling them that what they are doing is great. He feels that one day, they will become great crowd pleasers.

However, not everyone is impressed by the Friendly 5. Buttercup stood by and watched all of it, sick to her stomach. She was not a huge fan of everything that they represent. Buttercup: “Ugh, how corny.”

Falco wasn’t completely thrilled by it, either. Falco: “I know, I can’t believe Fox is actually into this.” Buttercup: “Looks as if your “fearless leader” is all over her and everything that she does.” Falco: “I know, ever since they first met, he’s been following her, like some sort of…” Buttercup: “Lovesick lapdog?” Falco: “I…wouldn’t use those words but I see where you’re going on this.” Blossom: “I don’t know.”

Blossom and Peppy appeared right next to them. Blossom: “They seem pretty happy.” Peppy: “Yes, in fact, this is the happiest I have ever seen Fox.” Buttercup: “He’s hardly ever this happy?” Falco: “Not since he parted with that friend of his. He hardly ever talks about who this friend of his is.”

Lisa and Maggie also observed them. She felt sad for what Fox has been going through and guilty that she still could not find the friend of Fox’s they were talking about. Maggie: “Lisa?” Lisa: “I hope we’re able to find her. I know Misty will succeed in ways I have failed.” Maggie: “You still don’t know where she?”

Lisa paused for a minute. Lisa: “All I know is she can be found on Earth.”

still i think the one of the more fun differences drawn between illario and lucanis that was lost would be illario's ability to endear himself to others but serious lack of empathy, vs. lucanis' (self perceived) inability to be charming but how much he cares. it's interesting that the game has gone with the "lucanis' ability vs illario's lack thereof" because i think illario being the dellamorte 'best in show dog' vs. lucanis' attack dog would have made me so unwell.

lucanis is... awkward. he's not unlikable, because he is usually very polite, but he doesn't speak much and only seems to care about the other dellamortes. he once sent viago de riva a knife with no note (who knows what he could have meant by this). he does what caterina asks of him, and by his own admission, cannot say no to her. he is a dramatic and prolific killer, and that makes how untouchable he is even worse.

and the crows like illario, sure, AND he's a good assassin! he's even a good crow! he's so good that he can make lucanis smile, and so he is the charming, sociable one. he's the one that stays in treviso and can be relied upon to care, illario's even the one people prefer over caterina and lucanis!

but illario is decoration. he's the prize poodle, and even if poodles were bred to be working dogs, nobody will ever pick him to protect the house over the german shepherd that regularly mauls intruders. anyways the analogy is getting away from me. the point i'm trying to make is that i want illario to have a different kind of jealousy/hatred that's not just over 'being bad at killing' but also an arrogant loathing for everyone around him that is getting harder to hide, because they've forgotten he can bite and is just itching to rip someone's jugular out. illario is very good at hiding his family resemblance to caterina, while lucanis suffers under his grandmother's, and his own, reputation.

Jaiden: I love– I love the way that Phil laughs, it's just such a hearty, genuine laugh. The few times that I've made him laugh, I've felt really good about myself! [Embarrassed laugh] Because he makes me feel much funnier than I am, you know?

Jaiden: It's just like, such a good laugh! I wish I had a– a like, more-hearty laugh. You know? You know what I'm talking about? My laugh is kinda like... Uh, you know how you guys compare Foolish's laugh to like, the... window cleaner? Like a– [Squeaky window-cleaning sound]

[Short clip of Foolish covering his face with one hand and making the squeaky laugh he's known for, slapping the arm of his chair as he keeps laughing]

Jaiden: I can't do it– [Laughs] It doesn't sound like that. I think mine is like... Because like, I do like, "Hee hee hee!" and I also like, breathe in, like– [Squeaky sound] You know? So I think– My laugh kinda just sounds like... Like, after you spray the window, and you're like, cleaning it. Like, wiping it down with a cloth. You know? That's what my laugh sounds like. I wish it was more of like a, "Ha ha ha."

Jaiden: But, I mean, I'm not complaining. I don't think– I don't think "laugh anxiety" is something that I wanna– is not a path I would really wanna go down. [Quiet laugh] It's like- sometimes, you just gotta pick your battles. [Laughs]

Okay I finally figured out Comet's origin story. Long version under the cut but short version is: knuckles finally got to reunite with the surviving echidnas but they didnt want to leave their homes to live on the floating island, so an alien felt bad for him and gave him a fankid <3

Okay so to recap stc canon: Knuckles has spent his entire time on the floating island believing he is protecting it until his people return. he doesnt remember, but he used to live in the ancient echidna city with Tikal and Pachacamac, but somehow was transported 8000 years into the future (present day). This happens after Tikal briefly brings Sonic back in time to help the echidnas fight off the Drakon empire--fish-shaped aliens that discovered chaos energy (the emeralds were made by the Drakons with the echidnas' sacred emeralds, then the echidnas "stole" them back and the drakons declared war). They succeed in beating them back for this battle, but my headcanon (which ended up being p close to what Kitching supposedly planned out) is that after this battle, the drakons come back and end up wiping the echidnas out--those that arent killed are taken off mobius as prisoners/slaves. At some point, some of them are able to escape and form a sanctuary away from the drakons.

Okay now we gotta talk about the Kaamdaarns. The Kaamdaarns are alternate dimension aliens that appear in 113, 119, and 120. They are peaceful aliens with "highly advanced science" indistinguishable from magic, which they use to disable any weapons on their planet and then also to free Shorty from his cybernik suit.

so the STORY WITH COMET GOES... Kintobor helps Knuckles to identify some kind of beacon signal that appears to be coming from other echidnas. Knuckles and Sonic hop into a spaceship (tekno and porker collab) and through a dimensional portal (tekno and kintobor collab) to find the source. they find a colony of echidnas long-established on a sanctuary planet under the protection of the kaamdaarns. the reunion is pretty bittersweet for knuckles bc like. these are people 8000 years removed from his culture. there are maybe some things still in common but otherwise their lives are completely distinct from how he grew up. and after 8000 years, very few if any of them consider the floating island home more than the place they are now. even those that might be interested in going back with knuckles are wary of the risk of leaving the safety of the kaamdaarn planet and being captured by drakons. and for a bunch of ruins... it's not really worth it

so knuckles has once again lost the whole Purpose of Everything He's Done and ummm well it goes about as well as the first time that happened

so he's hanging on by a Thread but the kaamdaarn that brought him and sonic to the village--her name's haven here she is--

says "you know what will fix that? a child." and see above: her making comet. GREAT idea, i agree. i mean the thought was more like "surely there is a way for you to both stay with your friends AND with other echidnas." but same difference. anyway sonic doesnt know what kind of egg that is.

I love when Steddie future fics have the Pinterest White Woman and her husband who can operate a power saw and is devoted to making all of her saved decorations dynamic

like yesss Steve saw a new book shelf that would look really good in the family room but it’s expensive so he resigns to not have it, meanwhile Eddie has banned him from the garage for reasons unknown until he’s taking off a blindfold and the shelf of his dreams is sitting where the car used to be

Steve sees that Amy from across the street just made a post about her homemade Christmas wreaths and they’re really good but he’s determined to one up her so he drags Eddie to Micheal’s and they load up on fake plants and berries, string and even some little Christmas lights. He spends the rest of the day making sure his wreaths are absolutely perfect and hanging them outside before Amy’s morning jog so she knows.

He wants to redo the kitchen and doesn’t trust any remodeling teams to get his vision so for a month he’s tearing apart his kitchen, sending Eddie out to paint the cabinets while he adds tile to the walls under them. Who is Eddie to tell him to just hire somebody when he’s finally happy with it, standing back to admire his work

He hangs those cheesy signs like “home is temporary, family is forever” in the family room, he has a “live laugh love this zoo” welcome mat. Eddie can’t stand them, he doesn’t say anything, they make Steve happy, they buy three more.

Idk there’s just something about it that feels so them you know, tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this, tell me I’m not losing my mind
