BBC GHOSTS BOOK SPOILERS (AGAIN) (SORRY)

Okay but I LOVE the implication that not only is the captain wildly unfit for his role but his ENTIRE UNIT is FUCKING INCOMPETENT along with him is SO FUNNY 😭😭😭

Literally nothing gets done at button house during the war it’s only the silly shenanigans the XI get up to like smuggling contraband via conga line and disastrous drag acts. The ONLY thing that unit is good at is cricket and even then it’s kinda iffy

Literally havers is the only functioning and capable person in that fucking house and he left after like two months 😭 he was the tape keeping this dumpster fire together and he KNEW he was too good for that place and he LEFT that’s fucking HILARIOUS!!!

It’s like the british army gathered the worst of the worst and just shoved them into that house to get them out of the way. It’s the 1940 equivalent of putting cocomelon on for a toddler while you sleep I will literally never get over this

Oooohohoho I just had an idea. Now, I have a burning hatred for Val Velocity and I despise the he’s secretly Party Poison theories because they make no sense and well. Because Val is an asshole and Party would never be, especially not to the girl. But I just had a thought and fuck, if I don’t want to write a fic around it now.

Anyway, what I’m about to say is usually against my personal doctrine, but I’ll make an exception for it this time: Val Velocity is Party Poison. But he doesn’t know it. Maybe he died when they saved the girl from bli ten years prior, maybe he didn’t. Maybe he came back to life, nobody knows. He sure doesn’t.

Not until the end, when the girl just liberated the city, when everyone’s spirits are free and Destroya is there and Val is staring blankly at the sky, at everything. But he doesn’t give the mask back to her. Maybe he still does, actually. But instead of what he said in the comic he turned to the girl with misty eyes and goes, “I’m sorry. I couldn’t- I couldn’t remember.”

The girl freed the city and in doing so, gave Val Velocity his- no, gave Party Poison their memories back.

Their past is to be determined, maybe BLi had them in their clutches before they either escaped or was released to the desert, where they figured a new life for themself, filling the blank slate they had emerged as. Maybe they escaped from the morgue, delirious and sporting a buzzcut, no remnant of bright red hair and no clue who they were. Maybe they lived in the city for a while, surviving through back alleys and shady deals before eventually reaching the desert, becoming a killjoy, no clue it was their second time doing so. But the whole while of figuring themselves out and trying to be sure of who they are with their weird past, he keeps hearing of these legends that sacrificed themselves for this little girl. These famous fabulous four that everyone looks up to even though they didn’t do that much in the end. Four lives for one, he never saw the purpose in it. He was raised on confusion and uncertainty and danger around every corner- he grew up scared and confused and angry. Then he met the girl, saw her with Party Poisons mask, and immediately disliked her. To Val Velocity, she was a brat. She couldn’t even fight, he wasn’t sure how she had survived this long. So he was rude to her, he took the mask of the killjoy that everyone in the zones either seemed to idolize or live in the burdening shadow of.

Then the fight came, a chance to seemingly end it. And he saw his chance to be a hero, an idol, and he took it. A chance to get people to pay attention to him, to maybe follow him, to have that shine of being important and seen that he was never quite sure why he craved so badly. He ‘stole Poison’s colour’ to do what in his opinion, Party Poison couldn’t- which is destroy BLI.

Then they got to the city and he unknowingly let Party Poison do that very thing. Party Poison and the rest of the fabulous four destroyed Better Living Industries ten years ago when they saved the girl. Then he remembers. He realizes that he’s Party Poison, that they were the one to get the girl out of Battery city and they remember why, because they knew that she could do all of this, that getting her out was the key to ending BLI, and so they died for it. A worthy cause.

But then they didn’t die for it. They couldn’t even remember but they still ended up completing that mission, following in their own footsteps. And one day Party Poison and the girl will look back on that ‘I’m stealing Poison’s colour and doing what he couldn’t’ moment and laugh at the sheer irony of it all.

And maybe the others are out there somewhere too. Jet Star and Kobra Kid and Fun Ghoul. Maybe they were also without their memories, living undercover as someone else that’s them but not quite either in the city or in the desert. Maybe they were under Better Livings control, stuck behind SCARECROW masks or monitors in some office building, no idea that they were once heroes. That they still are. or maybe not, maybe they really are dead. Maybe Party Poison was the sole survivor. Maybe the Phoenix Witch brought them back from the dead, took pity on Party Poison alone, or maybe returning one soul was the extent of her power. That’s up to you to decide.

Or me if I write something from this, I guess.

Okay, I came up with this idea while healthily procrastinating. So, the Omori Crew. They're playing Hide and Seek right? But it's their own special brand of Hide and Seek where the seekers will find and tickle someone until they publicly admit (through varying degrees of laughter) they're the seeker. While the former seeker cheers at a job well done before running away while the new giggly seeker recovers and plans their next move.

Now, what none of them (well except maybe Mari and Kel) will admit is that each of them have their own personal target when they're a seeker. Aubrey goes for Mari, Mari hones in on Hero, Hero is pretty much the only one who can catch Kel, Kel then murders poor Baby Basil with tickles, Basil tries to regain his lost tickle honor by attacking Sunny, and Sunny... well he's the outlier in that he doesn't have a specific target. The little goober just loves hearing his friends laugh that he just goes after whoever he finds first. Which works out to varying degrees of success.

Mari and Hero often abuse their big sibling perks and break the rule by attacking Sunny back, specifically Sunny since they know they'd get away with it. The boy is too forgiving, even with this severe case of unfairness and injustice.

Then there's Aubrey, who Sunny knows it's a 'Tickle at your own risk' scenario because that girl is a flailer, a total wiggle worm that Aubrey. She tries to reign it in for the sanctity of the sport but can't help those nerves. But Sunny thinks it's worth the risk because he loves her joyful laughter (but don't tell anyone he thinks that, or it'll be the silent treatment until the end of time).

Kel is also high on the 'TAYOR' scale for the fact that the boy cannot help himself. He was raised in the art of the Tickle Fight and he will fight or flight his way to victory! Until he trips on a tree root and lays their motionless for Sunny to jump him. Klutz. Well at least Sunny finds his screeching laughter hilarious enough to try for it.

Anyway Basil, yeah he's easy prey. I don't make the rules the boy is too ticklish for his own good. Doesn't help that he doesn't know how to protect himself. Which hey, Basil laughter is good for the mind, body, and soul so it works out for Sunny and those within a 5 mile radius to hear his squeaky cackles.

I love the fact that everyone has their specific target and that the rest of them just knows it because holy GOSH! Can you imagine the anticipation!? Like, I am here imagining Hero hiding very well and trying to keep himself quiet until he listens to the melodious, loud and full of squeaks laughter that clearly comes from Mari and a shiver run across his spine because he KNOWS that he will be the next one, so he just stays there, a wobbly smile threatening to take over his face as Mari admits that she is the next seeker and Aubrey triumphly shouts and runs to hide and then the left over giggles disappear and everything goes silent again and he just stays there ~ waiting from his moment ~ wondering if it would be safer to already run away or try to be the quietest that he can ~

Also!!!! The fact that Sunny doesn't focus on just one friend because he loves to hear everyone's laughter STAAAAP 😭😭😭💛😭💛😭💛😭💛 MY HEART IS MELTING HEREEE. HE ABSOLUTELY WOULD!!!!

The mental image of Kel just NYOOOOM then tripping and falling into a loud laughter while Sunny is there, proud of himself for making a friend happy is just too precious I am going to lay on the floor rn and cry tears of pure joy excuse me

That wet warm feeling against my face, i think that is what i remember the most. It was so warm, and inviting and it felt so right even though i knew it was very wrong. Years of being degraded, badgered, and looked down on for my Genius! I suppose it all boiled to the surface that night. I just wanted him to see the world as i did, to understand the world the way it was. I looked up to him, he was my mentor, my teacher, a professor without equal! How could he give me that grade... how could he shun me as mad! how dare he call me crazy!

As i stared down on my professors broken corpse, the text book lodged inside his skull. My hands covered in thick red liquid, dripping and joining the pool on the floor.

It was the first time i killed someone... not for science, or to prove some greater point! but out of anger, rage, furious rage! that he couldn't see my genius!

I'm still ashamed of how i acted... i wish i could erase that moment ... forget it ever happened...

Parenthood?!?! This is going to RUIN ALL THEIR FUN PLANS!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Taika puts his kids into his things...

(and from what I've seen Alex had family there too!)

... but what I love even more this time around is, that we got the woman who's basically RESPONSIBLE for the whole damn show as it is because she came across that strange Gentleman Pirate and told her genius writer husband about it!!!

Coming full circle with that one and i couldn't love DJ more (and I fucking love him to the end of the world and back already!)
