I might be mistaken here, but I think Monika might actually be the only Doki not to cry at all between the Side Stories and the Main Game.

She doesn't have a crying sprite (which is why it's a relatively common fan sprite to make), and she doesn't cry in any of the CGs afaik.

That says something about her character, I think.

This is relevant because I'm considering something for an ask that's been sitting around a while, and so I've been looking over all of the Side Stories for material, and it just stuck out to me.

fell down a research hole for something (don't worry about it) and hit an unexpected thought: in english the writing goes this way -> but the numbers (when written as digits and not spelled out) seem to go this way <-

like yeah we READ them this way -> but we MATH them this way <-

like when you add you add the "ones" place first THEN the "tens" and so on and so forth. and the same for subtraction, and when you do multiplication the "long" way

long division you do different (this way ->) but thats like...so you can get the decimal place right

so like....why do we do this?

why have i never noticed this before? do ALL number systems work like this? the numbers in other languages that go other directions do this or is it different?

I tried to look and I'm not sure I do, I just know I kept referring back to it in other Jimmy related thoughts... I'm happy to share my thoughts again though haha. The whole maid dress sequence in SOS made me lose my mind I'll tell you that, that was SO hard to watch. Jimmy continuously gives up way too much and gets used imo. (In X Life he literally gave a stack of diamonds to whoever was nice to him.??)

In SOS this notion of Jimmy "owing people" keeps being repeated and it makes me angry!! (In a much later stream Jimmy expresses how he owes fWhip for, something? And fWhip just goes "I know".) Because literally no, he hasn't done anything that'd warrant him not being able to opt out of something like this. He "owes" people for reviving him after he's died, but has anyone else owed anyone reviving them? At least to this degree? For at least most of them, absolutely not!! The way Sausage neglects to give exact details and makes Jimmy think that he'd just be serving drinks, not dancing. I hate that Jimmy's up there asking people to look away and I hate how in a later stream, he tells Sausage how embarrassing that was to do in front of almost the whole server, and Sausage goes "aww you could've done more!". He also said stuff like "I thought I was dreaming, I was happy I wasn't!" this thing has a maid kink but he needs to stop subjecting Jimmy to it..!!

I sometimes see people faulting others in the fandom for infantilizing Jimmy but that HAPPENS. in the VIDEOS. He's naive and easily trusting, and he wants company. He'll stick around just about anyone even when he's not treated well. Sausage mocks and taunts him, but he also tells Jimmy "I like you! I do nice things for you because I like you!" and then kills him, or laughs at him, or makes him dance in a maid dress in front of the server. It's the most barebones positive affirmation attached to all that but then again, how often does Jimmy receive positive affirmation otherwise? Other than Sausage calling him handsome or something. That is the bird cage that he's seated with and the cage is all he knows. I will say that in a later stream he beats the crap out of Sausage and holds out on killing him, which was AWESOME

The idea that Gascoigne and Henryk were hunting partners (presumably with Henryk being Gascoigne's elder and mentor) and that Viola was Henryk's daughter is the funniest shit. Like how do you think that went over.

Sometimes I do worry if some of the comments he says end up coming off as mean instead of sarcastic or as a quick and casual "That's so dumb."? And then I remember oh right, environment where he was used to people talking to each other like that and if someone else's character takes what he says the wrong way then it would be perfectly understandable lol.

TL;DR: I'm glad you like it! And he would take a lollipop out of his mouth for a moment to call someone a dumbass and move on.

Sometimes I get worried while writing Arcanary bc like. John and more relevantly Norman have very distorted ideas about their abuse and that manifests in really uncomfortable apologism and shit so I get worried that it comes across as too… waves hand vaguely. Romanticized. Proship?

And then I remember the few experiences to proship circles I have run into and they’re like 1. the most toothless and out-of-character fluff fic i've seen in my life but between two siblings 2. 4chan horny horror game

oops i think i got this day of the event announcement but thank you for asking!!

if you want my initial thoughts for when it dropped:

i Was initially hoping for/expecting 5* nagisa and 4* hiyori purely for the sentiment for such a key event like Eden's Climax since you know they're the unit leaders!! but i've seen the climax series also described as like... kind of the conclusion? culmination? for where main story has been going with each unit, and since the overarching plot in !! so far has been very heavily focused on Adam considering how they're the ones with the most NPC involvement, it makes sense that they were the ones to get high rarity cards....

and well adam getting high rarity cards together (and finally breaking the senpai/kouhai curse as I've seen it called since it's been the unchanging pattern so far in !! until now) means . next will be eve's turn and i am an eveP first and foremost so I'm happy about that LOL

the event itself went kind of as I expected it which was Secret Service 2: Adam's NPC Adventures While Eve Searches For Them Again HFGSD... i haven't looked super closely yet since i've been busy but personally I do wish there had been much less NPC focus as i want to see an eden event be about.. you know.... Eden and their interactions with each other... 😭 this is how i've felt for much of !!'s current main story style anyway though....

my main 0 braincell post-event thoughts however:

eve shared a single bed in a hotel so i win. and then hiyori used jun's lap as a pillow while jun sang him a lullaby and made NEGI question the nature of their relationship so i double win.

I got a refurb canon rebel t7 as a wedding gift last year and have several good lenses (Tamron something for landscape, and a canon 55-250 mm for zooms) both of which are second hand from camera shops, but I was wondering what exactly do you recommend for a birding setup? Preferably dedicated amateur-friendly, and not national geographic level! Also I'm limited to the t7 for at least a while. The 55-250 is blurry at max zoom but I can get decent pictures with good lighting and a stationary subject and I wonder if better lens will help. Thank you!

Hi! I'm gonna be honest, 85% of my wildlife photos on this blog were taken with my Canon Rebel T6i and a Canon 55-250mm. It is not a professional level lens but it is extremely versatile and was my go-to for years and years. I would highly recommend it as a budget lens for pretty much everything!

I would personally stay away from the Canon 75-300mm. It's a decent lens but you get a lot of distortion and I found the image stabilizer lacking. I used my 55-250mm much more than my 75-300mm.

My current set up is a refurbished Canon 7D, which I really like so far, and a Sigma 150-600mm. You can definitely get better lenses (and better cameras) but for where I'm at in terms of skill, usage, and budget, it's pretty much perfect. I'm really excited to get out more this year now that I have a really solid set up!
