Went into D1 last night with @aislinavalbane and was floored by the beauty of this Crucible map.

Welcome to the Cosmodrome, where it began for the old timers. Find your first ship and travel to the Last City. Defeat Sepiks and Omnigul. Break the Devil Splicers. We have done a lot in this place.

I spent a bit of time at the weekend breaking into Rasputin's bunker in the Cosmodrome to take a look at a space left over from D1, the rooms from the Promethean Code mission! It's where you go to get cloaking technology to let you onto the Dreadnaught. It's real creepy and full of Taken. I think this area may have been used in Season of the Seraph, but I cannot remember for sure. Very cool to get to see it here! I normally play Hunter for OOB stuff, but was on Titan for this for the benefit of sword flying (thankfully only a little bit because I am not very good at it XD) and the melee to get through the pipes into the room. A pleasant couple of hours! It would have been quicker but I ended up going the stupid way.

sorry if this is a stupid question but do we know why the cosmodrome/old russia was quarantined?
I'm not sure if that quarantine is still in effect since we have free access to the Cosmodrome now. I remember that being a thing back in Forsaken for the Thunderlord quest. It was probably mentioned just to kinda let us know why we're only going to the Cosmodrome for the weapon and why the Cosmodrome is inaccessible otherwise (before it was put into the game).
But as some of the reasons, SIVA could be one and the other would radiation. This was a popular thing to discuss back then, since you could fight an "irradiated shank" enemy during the quest:

Radiation would definitely be one of the best reasons to quarantine the Cosmodrome area, though it would also not make sense for that area to be open now since it's not been a lot of time in between these two events.
It's most likely the quarantine was mentioned to tell us why we can't go to the Cosmodrome (because it wasn't in the game). But it's also an interesting thing to explore especially with radiation problems (which should be substantial on Earth post-Collapse), as well as the possibility that the quarantine was at least partially due to SIVA. Those two together would be a pretty good reason for the Vanguard to want to limit Guardians' access to the area.

This week on OUBLIETTE: chapter 2 ends the way chapter 1 began, with stars falling from the sky. Read the whole comic here:
Updates have been delayed a couple of times lately because with one distraction or another I've completely run through my buffer and Life Keeps Interrupting,* so the comic is on pause until November 2024 to rebuild it (I may also start the Nov restart with a couple of interstitial comics before Chapter 3 kicks off properly.) I didn't really want to do this - I know I have neither a large nor an aggressively entitled readership, but it's good to get into good scheduling habits - but one missed deadline is happenstance, twice is awkward, and three times feels a bit Megatokyo.**
I'm wondering if, when I come back, I should alter the way I do posts - considering monthly updates of 4-5 pages rather than the current one-a-week schedule. I realise I'm telling a fairly slow narrative story one page at a time and while I've found the weekly schedule generally very helpful in getting me to just Finish Pages and be realistic about not overengineering them, I don't think it's necessarily easy (or fun) to follow this way.
Very much welcome anyone's thoughts on all this - I'm currently considering doing a trial "bunch of pages" update in Nov and another in Dec (when I'm back from leave I'll update the banner, and also will finally add a cast page and a few social media links to make it easier for people to follow on their chosen social whatsit. I also plan on putting some draft images here on the Tumblr at very least.)
* I was just away all weekend for a Significant Birthday, I'm currently overseas on holiday, and this coming October is going to be unusually busy at work. ** Other really old people will understand.
