a nice self indulgent cannon divergence idea for one piece involving ace and Yamato that goes like....
ace meets Yamato the exact same except before ace leaves Kaido returns to Wano early which leads to ace going after Kaido as he intended
its a big fight with lots of destruction, ace is fistfighting Kaido while Yamato fights some of Kaido's crew to keep them off ace
meanwhile Ace is by no means strong enough to beat up a yonkou, when he starts struggling Yamato steps in to fight Kaido as well
it doesn't mean they can easily defeat Kaido but its not as difficult to fight him now that they are tohether
Kaido threatens to explode Yamato's cuffs for rebelling against him, Yamato still doubting Kaido is serious about those threats does not stop and just fights harder
except Yamato's cuffs DO explode and in the split second he tries to throw up some haki to save himself, he doesn't have perfect haki skills though so Yamato gets blown away through some buildings
Ace, is in shock at what just happened and Kaido gets in a lucky hit or two
Ace gets feral just a bit, maybe some conqueror haki gets thrown around and takes out a couple enemies maybe it doesn't who knows
Yamato wakes up heavily injured and sees the battle going on and Ace is far from winning, in fact, he might be getting close to loosing
in his desperation to help his only friend Yamato grabs for any weapon he can which happens to be one of the beast pirates' guns which just so happens to have a seastone bullet loaded into it already
when Yamato pulls the trigger Kaido is about to squash Ace like a pancake under his half transformed foot
when the bullet hits Kaido is incredibly dead, a shot right in the head
and Yamato passes out from his injuries right after that
very soon the spade pirates make their way to the scene after making their way through Kaido's goons
they had immediately made their way to Onigashima after feeling the ground shake because there was little else that could be happening at the moment except epic yonkou smack down, especially since ace went off explicitly saying he's going to murder Kaido
with the Spades around that means Duece is there to accost ace with medical treatment and one of the others is nice enough to pull Yamato out of his crater and get the doctor
the spades chill afterward for a while
and soon arrives Kozuki Sukiyaki and Kozuki Hiyori reemerging from hiding saying Toki sent the Nine Red Scabbards and Momonosuke into the future and they were due to arrive in the next few years? damn! devils fruits can do some magical stuff wooow so interesting and plot convenient or whatever
Wano is free but now what do the spades do? there's no one to protect the country and it was Kaido's name that kept people out, and during the battle the shogun Orochi got freaking murdered somefreaking how so ace and Yamato who killed the guy kind of feel at least a little if not entirely responsible for the situation
not to mention they're sticking around because Ace is two seconds away from adopting Tama, Yamato needs to heal up from being exploded because he's gotten inducted into the spade pirates, and the Spades want to go explore Wano just a little bit more anyway so what's the harm?
and whoopdee doo now they're kinda stuck here a little bit cuz damn heres a power vacuum going on and its so good that duece is there to explain why Kaido being dead was a bit of a bad thing for Wano because otherwise they would have gone away
so the Kozuki reassumes power and they take up the spade pirates offer of help
and you cannot tell me that people do not know that Yamato killed Kaido that's some big news right there, sure maybe the spades as a whole are credited to overthrowing the beast pirates because the newspaper is kinda sketchy most of the time but surely, surely, at least Yamato and Ace are said to have fought him together
so that means Yamato may or may not eventually get a bounty since wano's borders are open upon the deth of kaido and the dissolusion of his crew and power that he used to back orochi's regime information is going to trickle out, especially something like who killed Kaido
and next comes white beard on Moby Dick cuz Kaido's been killed, Wano's borders have been opened like hell he's leaving that situation alone when theres such personal history with oden
spades and whitebeards definitely have at minimum of one fight cuz a yonkou ship moving toward wano? like hell that's not sketchy
once the fights done and some conversations are had the Kozuki family takes up Whitebeard's offer of protection, it helps that Whitebeard sailed with Oden and like hell he's going to do nothing for Oden's country, that his bro dead he may be
and so after what some might call a tense relationship between the Spades and Whitebeards that definitely required a few parties to take place in order for them to loosen up the spades eventually get adopted by Whitebeard
cue found family bonding, Ace and Yamato having their daddy issues and fully embracing Whitebeard as a father figure/captain in a way that they vibe with and is true to their characters
and oh there is most definitely some conversations about Yamato using the name oden be it the Whitebeards or the Kozuki family but Yamato's a golden retriever boy and he intends to honor Oden's name and dreams so I'm sure people will be cool with it after thats explained away
i have no idea what happens in the time between this and the marineford arc but i know for certain that when the marineford arc happens Yamato will hitch a ride on Little Oars Jr. and land on the execution platform and say some sick line like "tell me, who is it that dared put my sworn brother in chains?" or "Ace if it were not for you I would still be in chains, allow me to return the favor" and such in such symbolism like that, about liberation (tie it somehow back to luffy because liberation themes of one pice have me in its grip) along with some awesome badass fighting because Yamato is no doubt going to go absolutely feral about this situation
i hope he uses his ice powers on Akainu, that would be so cool and poetic or maybe even Aokiji cuz ice wolf vs ice man sounds neat
and okay thats it that is all that i have come up with so far

The Amiba Isekai Has a More Balanced Roster than the Original Fist of the North Star
Fist of the North Star Side Story: The Genius Amiba’s Otherworld Conqueror Legend is a spin-off manga that has rarely disappointed. Its silly premise is that the minor villain Amiba (aka Fake Toki) has been isekai’d, only rather than getting killed by a truck, it was death by Kenshiro. And instead of getting run over, it was being violently exploded while forced to walk backwards off a…

“H-hello...” Mika gave a little wave to the other girl.
Toki poked her head out of Mika’s bag and gave a big toothy smile. “Time to conquer some friendship!”
“N-no! No conquering.” Mika tried to correct the little Tokomon, but Toki was sticking with her phrasing...

If we're going to wonder how Luffy can still be considered a D-bearer in the Kozuki Luffy AU then lets make Lady Toki a D-bearer since we know nothing more about her than just being from Wano.
So Conquerors haki from Mum's side! Cool huh?

Chapter 1037 — Shuron hakke
It has been 84 years…
…and I completely forgot about the new chapter until now. Oh no.
But this was such a joy, I completely forgive myself!
Thanks to translator notes, I now know that the title can read “drunk dragon bagua” and “famous for booze”. Very fitting for the drunkest chapter in the whole saga so far.
The guy challenging Orochi seems a bit more polished than other background figures. An homage that I don’t recognise, maybe?
Nice touch with the Toki-sculpture in the back, to go with the Oden-one seen in the beginning of the feast. Foreshadowing, mayhaps? The dawn is near, now that Toki appears?
Prediction: people will look up at the lights and not see a fairytale prince à la Tangled, but rather the terrific view of an island hovering over them. Fun and terror, just the thing to get your heart racing after a feast.
Okay, this whole sequence is just pure gold. If I could, I’d just put it all here.So go! Go and read the chapter and rejoice at the total chaos. I’ll wait.
When Shanks stopped him before the Paramount War wasn’t a serious one-on-one fight then, just a “here, but no further”?
No wonder he’s been searching for self-destructive ways to end his life (like jumping from a cloud and crashing alliance negotiations) if he lives for the fight but can’t get anyone to fight him, the poor lizard.
And look! Just look at how happy he seems!
And the movement! Although I have Views on the direction the art style has taken, I really enjoy the flow and movement in the last chapters, the easy lines of ink lending such energy to the page.
Also, I wonder what the snaps are.
I love drunk Kaido and will choose my new icon accordingly.
Fights are usually the least enjoyable bit of One Piece for me, but this whole thing is done just beautifully.
This whole page for example is just pure beauty, even though I’ll focus on the left-hand side here:
As far as I recall, Luffy hasn’t been much of a kicking man before, relying more on arm techniques. He’s not avoided kicks to the same extent Sanji refuses to use his hands in combat, but he does rely on his hands quite a bit. This could therefore be read as another way he’s evolved: his earlier hits didn’t quite make the mark but he evolves, and a kick in the face is never wrong.
And I have to give major points for hardness of technique as well. Do you know how hard it is to hit someone properly with a back-kick? It’s not a piece of cakewalk, I’ll tell you that.
Reminds me a bit of Ulti’s headbutt from chapter 983, although with some Conqueror’s distancing going on (which we can see in the Ulti-panel, I just realised):
But back to Kaido.
First; look at how happy he is when Luffy blocks his bagua-hit with his hand. He has realised Luffy will counterattack and he is overjoyed!
He even says it straight out in the beginning of the chapter: he’s happy! He’s celebrating a great match!
Both look quite beat. Wonder how long they’ll manage yet.
And then. I really hope Oda’ll tell us how Shanks died and Sabo got captured soon.
If this is in reference to the gomu gomu-fruit I will be miffed.
Or wait… is it Zunesha that’s the specially named fruit-bearer?
Such a nice bit of continuity there, by the way! I just assumed Zunesha had continued on her ramble and the Mink warriors took another route to Wano, but looks like she carried them there! Must have been tall enough that they could just jump over, as well.
I give the chapter a cheer and a raunchy drinking song.

One Piece Chapter 1037 - Initial Thoughts
And we are back, hope y'all had a good new year
Because now it's over and real life has kicked in! It's okay though, we still have One Piece and it's the first chapter of the year (unless you're just following Viz and then it's the second)
King's down, Queen's down, and we're looking like we may check in with Luffy, but there's still a lot of moving pieces so let's see how this one goes
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release
Everybody stop what you're doing and rejoice, Reiju's on the cover story! Baeju confirmed alive! I mean, Judge and Ichiji too but I don't really care about them
We're back in the Fire Festival, but no Hitetsu or Toko, regular people sensing the party's almost over, some bitter, some just living in the glow of the paper mache Toki float
Lanterns are coming out too, with messages written on them on what people desire, still very intrigued how this will come into play
Back with Luffy and Kaido though, and Kaido is now getting boozed up
Least he offered Luffy some, Zoro would be all over that, but it's not like we could celebrate him trying to turn Wano into a pirate hive by squashing the capital and forcing all survivors into slave labour...
Well at least he's being a happy drunk right now, kinda acting like Luffy mixed with Saul
Oda making sure we know that being drunk isn't gonna affect Kaido's threat level, he matrix dodged that Roc Gun
And that was a meaty looking hit
The dome is crumbling, and it's right underneath Big Mom, keep an eye on that it may come back - like I envision Luffy winning will be shown on the Performance Floor but what if the debris KO's Big Mom and it's just Luffy standing over 2 KO'd Yonko? Morgans might die from all the Big News
Kaido's back to his dragon form now, but he's in his Sad Drunk phase, lamenting his inability to stop the castle falling apart...which is weird considering he's dropping it on the Capital knowing that it's loaded with explosives
5 Years to rebuild? Kaido you need a Franky...and if that giant sword gets damaged I don't think you can replace it
Luffy tries to attack, but he does his Dragon Twister, which Luffy parries away with his Haki (according to twitter people think this'd make Zoro fans mad because Luffy deflected something Zoro also deflected with his sword...people are silly sometimes)
Well now we have Hybrid Crying Drunk, a form we have seen before
He goes for the Thunder Bagua, but Luffy's been hit with it enough times to have it scouted
Really well-times move to both dodge and land on the weapon, before giving Kaido la chancla!
Kaido catches him with the tail though, leading to a badass panel of a Conqueror's Coated headbutt clash!
A clash Kaido wins, his Haki has gotten stronger, I wonder if getting drunk improves Kaido's haki, since Haki is tied to emotions too maybe he should've drank spirits
Angry drunk Kaido now, accusing Luffy of almost sobering him up. This is probably what we got in Bakura Town with the first Thunder Bagua
Luffy dodges Kaido firin his lazar but his Roc Gatling is clashed with Kaido's Gundari: Meteor Shower, both sides taking hits in the end
Luffy dodges the swing and gets a brutal kick to Kaido's gut to finish off this session, Kaido's taking damage but he's also still smiling in the face of damage, it's that unnerving tension that while damage is being done it doesn't feel like enough
Now we're going all the way back to Marejois! Sounds like the Gorosei aren't happy with what went down at the Reverie, which tbf is a promising thing since they were about to target Vivi
They are setting sights on Wano, which tbf they should've done years ago I mean I still feel robbed that Tashigi didn't get a part to play in the Land of Swords
'Nico Robin must have been apprehended by now' - Aha boy are you fucking wrong
Now they're talking about killing her? Boy if you think this was a war you have no idea what trying to kill Robin would do to you
The WG ships en route to Wano are being intercepted though, by a 'big shadow'
Wait a Devil Fruit!? You telling me this is a Devil Fruit's work?
ZUNESHA IS A DEVIL FRUIT, AND IT'S HERE IN WANO!
Oda come onnnnn, we've waited multiple weeks for this then you throw another break, not cool!
Well this is a wild chapter
The added focus on the Fire Lanterns makes me feel like they are going to play a role, maybe ghosts, maybe Momo can use the lanterns like Fire Clouds, something's gonna go down there.
Luffy and Kaido are still popping off, I expect that's all we'll see for now until we've wrapped up some more things but it is promising that Luffy is getting hits in and being acknowledged by Kaido, but given how Luffy isn't using any Gear Fourth it's clear that he still thinks Kaido has plenty in the tank. At least we got some variety with Kaido being drunk, tying back to pre-Wano appearances.
But then you go drop a bomb like that!? I mean I was wondering if Zunesha was gonna make an appearance since Momo stuck around on Zou while Luffy was in WCI but what does this mean!? What is Zunesha exactly? Was it Momo who awakened it by giving it an order? Will it be able to help Momo with Onigashima?
The last part I doubt because it's at sea but it may be warding off the WG, do have to wonder though if the BM Pirates will get involved, given how they've been knocked down to the sea thrice now
We'll have to wait...and wait, but Oda keeps throwing us curveballs that make this arc (at this point I feel like we should call it a saga) even more jam packed! 2022 is gonna be another wild year for One Piece.

This is the third “Nobunaga time travelled and changed history, only for things to go horribly wrong” series that I’ve seen. I’m pretty sure there’s actually more of them out there, that I just don’t know about.
何度、時をくりかえしても本能寺が燃えるんじゃが!? Nando, toki o kurikaeshite mo Honnouji ga moerunja ga!? Despite turning back time repeatedly, Honnouji still burns!?
Nobunaga is at Honnouji, preparing for death. However, he couldn’t accept his fate and starts complaining. A mysterious entity appeared and tells him he gets a do-over. He wakes up 7 years in the past. He kills Mitsuhide, but suddenly finds himself at a burning Honnouji again, except that this time Shibata Katsuie had rebelled!
He gets another do-over, kills both Mitsuhide and Katsuie, and promptly gets tossed back to a Honnouji where Hideyoshi has rebelled. The first dozen chapters or so has Nobunaga trying his darnedest to figure out a course of action that will not land him at a Honnouji betrayal.
After so many loops, he finally escaped the pattern... except that Mitsuhide has successfully launched a coup much earlier. Nobunaga finds himself cornered at Honnouji again, but his position severely weakened as Mitsuhide has established himself as the new conqueror. The plot moves on from there, with Nobunaga trying to figure out what to do next. Also, he had to ask around what happened in the past 7 years, since he didn’t get to live the interim years. He was just tossed straight to 1582 in a new timeline that he knew nothing about.
Also, he gains a feral warrior girl minion, because a shounen manga needs cute girl eye candies. She’s feral and ridiculously strong, and also blidnly devoted to Nobunaga just because she really likes the konpeitou he gave her when she was younger.

A List of Known Zandalari Monarchs
Dazar, the First King (Reign: approx. 16,000 years BDP)
Dazar was the founder of Zandalar, the first to unite the disparate troll tribes, and, most importantly, the first true king of the trolls [Item: Embellished Tusk Band, Dungeon Journal: Kings’ Rest, Dazar].
According to legend, Dazar led the trolls out of the muck and up to the highest peaks of the Zandalar mountain range [Dungeon Journal: Kings’ Rest, Dazar]. Believing the region’s tallest plateaus to be the most sacred because they were home to the trolls’ honored loa, the Zandalar tribe - led by Dazar - settled the land and built a grand city of gold that would later come to be known as Zuldazar [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume I, pg. 71]. It is implied that those events coincided with the troll exodus from their former capital in Nazmir and that Dazar was the one who guided the trolls south to escape G’huun’s malignant influence [Object: Ancient Nazmani Tablet, Object: Cracked Tablet, Object: Dazar Placard]. Additionally, seeing as Dazar united the trolls, an event that happened for the first time when the various tribes were forced to set aside their differences to overcome the monstrous C’Thrax Kith’ix, it is likely he was king at the time of the Aqir and Troll War as well [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume I, pg. 72].
In addition to his other legendary deeds, Dazar was also the first to tame raptors, the fierce and noble creatures that have acted as companions to all of trollkind for many millennia [Dungeon Journal: Kings’ Rest, Dazar, Mount: Swift Purple Raptor].
Dazar’alor, the city Dazar built, and Atal’Dazar, the royal tombs in which he was buried, were both presumably named in honor of the first king [Page: Dazar].
King Timalji and Queen Wasi (Reign: Unknown)
Little is known about these rulers or the nature of their reign, although it is said that no one loved power quite as much as they did [Object: King Timalji Placard].
King Rokka and Queen Torla (Presumed, Reign: Unknown)
King Rokka and his sister, Queen Torla, were once involved in a great war against each other [NPC: Toki Dialogue].
The only mention of these rulers is by a single tortollan, Toki, who professes he is not sure if a conflict actually happened between them, so it is possible no such event ever occurred. Additionally, given how little information there is on both Rokka and Torla, it may be that they are not even troll monarchs at all, especially considering Toki’s many personal experiences with the mogu and innumerable other races.
Queen Patlaa (Reign: Unknown)
Patlaa was a known friend of animals [Object: Queen Patlaa Placard].
King A’akul (Reign: Unknown)
Little is known about King A’akul, although he was one of the Zandalari’s more ruthless and bloodthirsty monarchs [Object: King A’akul Placard, Item: Crown of A’akul’s Dark Reign].
King Rahu’ai (Reign: Unknown)
Little is known about this monarch. His crown can still be found in the Zandalari treasury [Item: Electrified Crown of Rahu’ai].
The Council of Tribes (Reign: Unknown)
For a time, a council of tribal leaders came together to rule over Zandalar when it was apparent no single emperor or king could. After a period of civil war and conflict over the throne, the heads of three prominent families agreed to rule together, though their political union was an uneasy one [Dungeon Journal: Kings’ Rest, Council of Tribes].
The council consisted of Princess Aka’ali the Conqueror, Kula the Butcher, and Zanazal the Wise. All three were ruthless, fierce combatants who enforced their rule through strength. Aka’ali, for example, was merciless and known to challenge those brave enough to court her – a challenge, it is important to note, she never lost [Object: Aka’ali the Conqueror Placard]. Similarly, Kula was so cruel she earned the epithet ‘the Butcher,’ although she was also clever and had an exceptional skill for strategy [Object: Kula the Butcher Placard]. Little is known about the third council member, Zanazal the Wise, although he never considered his two co-rulers as his equals [Object: Zanazal the Wise Placard].
Though the Council of Tribes brought peace to Zandalar for a brief time, the era of their rule ultimately ended when a devastating blood plague broke out that killed thousands of trolls [Item: Urn of Passage].
King Tezlekhan the Virulent (Reign: Unknown)
King Tezlekhan, Rastakhan’s great-grandfather, once tried to exile the tortollans from Zandalar. The tortollans, however, were able to convince Tezlekhan to let them stay after obtaining some unsavory political dirt on the monarch [NPC: Tortollan Seeker Dialogue].
King Rastakhan (Reign: approx., 200 BDP – 33 ADP)
Horrified to learn that the members of the Gurubashi tribe had been enslaved and were being used to summon the barbaric Loa of Blood, Hakkar, back into the world, King Rastakhan sent several of his personal emissaries to oversee and deal with the budding threat. The small group of Zandalari traveled to Stranglethorn Vale where, through their connection to the Darkspear tribe, they employed the help of Horde adventurers to defeat Hakkar [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume III, pg. 123, NPC: Exzhal Dialogue].
Shortly after the Cataclysm, Rastakhan – under the Dark Prophet Zul’s advisement – began negotiations to unite the disparate troll tribes for the first time since the Empire of Zul had dissolved thousands of years prior [Object: The Dark Prophet Zul, NPC: Vol’jin Dialogue, World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume I, pg. 74]. Zul, acting as Rastakhan’s liaison, initially united the Gurubashi and Amani tribes, although the Darkspear, led by Vol’jin, refused to join because of their allegiance to the Horde [Trailer: Patch 4.1: Rise of the Zandalari, Vol’jin: Shadows of the Horde, Chapter 23, World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume III, pg. 209]. It was only when the notorious Thunder King Lei Shen returned a few years later that Zul was able to fully, albeit briefly, unite all of the major troll tribes. He even succeeded in rallying the Frostmane tribe, a group of Drakkari indigenous to Dun Morogh, although the ice trolls were cut down by members of the Alliance, ultimately preventing them from joining with the Zandalari [Scenario: Blood in the Snow].
To cement the tribes’ union, each of their leaders came together in a Council of Elders that consisted of representatives from the Drakkari, Amani, Farakki, Gurubashi, and, most importantly, the Zandalari [Dungeon Journal: Throne of Thunder, Council of Elders]. Unfortunately, the Council of Elders and, consequently, the united troll empire, fell apart upon Lei Shen’s defeat.
Toward the end of Rastakhan’s reign, his daughter, Princess Talanji, finally put an end to the blood troll incursion once and for all [Quest: The True Leader of Zandalar].
Rastakhan had been king of Zandalar for over two hundred years before his demise at the hands of the Alliance during a conflict known as the Battle of Dazar’alor [Object: For Council and King].
Queen Talanji (Reign: approx. 33 ADP – Present)
In the short time since her reign began, Queen Talanji has started to include non-troll races in Zandalari politics for the first time ever in the history of the Zandalari empire. Not only did the Zandalari trolls officially join the Horde under her rule, she also appointed a tortollan to her personal advisory council, the Zanchuli Council [Quest: Allegiance of the Zandalari, NPC: Lashk Dialogue].
Talanji’s decision to have the Zandalari join the Horde has formally united four troll tribes: the Darkspear, the Revantusk, the Shatterspear, and the Zandalari [NPC: Elder Torntusk Dialogue, Page: Shatterspear Tribe].

One Piece: Chapter 973 - Predictions
It is interesting to see the 20 years idea came from Oden. In the end, it seems that by having learned of all the secrets of the world, Oden had a much better understanding of the overall picture than Toki. After all, the end of the void century might have been a very chaotic time and Toki was maybe too young to understand what was going on.
An updated timelinel:
41 years ago: start of the flashback, the Mountain God incident
39 years ago: Oden becomes Daimyo of Kuri. The same year, Roger reaches Lode Star and realizes there might be another "last island”
38 years ago: the incident at God Valley
33 years ago: former Rocks pirates start recruiting. Kawamatsu, Inu and Nekko join Oden
30 years ago: Oden joins WB and leaves Wano
28 years ago: Roger realizes he has a terminal disease, he goes to the twin capes to recruit Crocus and starts his last journey. Momonosuke is born on the Moby Dick.
26 years ago: Hiyori is born on the Moby Dick. Oden is poached by Roger and leaves the Whitebeard pirates for a year. Roger is shown the road poneglyph from Zou.
25 years ago: Roger and his crew reach the final island and name it Laugh Tale, they then disband. Oden comes back to Wano, then starts to make a fool of himself.
24 years ago: Roger turns himself in to the Marines and is executed.
23 years ago: Moria clashes against Kaido. Ryuma's grave is robbed.
20 years ago: Oden and his men attack Kaido, they are defeated and captured. Oden is executed but saves his retainers. Momonosuke and Kinemon are sent 20 years into the future.
I really hope that there is more to the reason behind the start of Nekos and Inus feud. A 20 year long hatred for eachother just because Neko rejoiced ? Why would Inu hate him for that ? Neko didnt provoke Orochi and Kaido, Oden himself said their minds were already set on killing him anyway. Now, to some prediction:
Chapter 973: This chapter is the last in the flashback. Usually Oda doesnt match the end of a flashback with the end of a chapter, he likes to transition in and off of it between his panels. Toki's mind is set on sending the scabbards 20 years into the future. Now they only have to come to her. At the start of the chapter we will switch back to Kinemons party fleeing the Flower capital. Shinobu may have to sacrifice herself to stall Orochis men in pursue. Along the way, as we know, the argument between Neko and Inu will get worse and they will eventually fight among themselves. That will enable Orochis men to capture them. The other scabbards will not stop and continue rushing back to Kuri. They will find that Odens castle is already in flames, attacked by Kaidos crew. Kaido is inside the castle, preparing to eliminate Odens family. Denjiro and Ashura will attack Kaido and drive him off to buy some time. Toki will then explain her power to the scabbards and send Kinemon, Kiku, Raizo, Kanjuro and Momo 20 years in the future. She will then entrust Hiyori to Kawamatsu and tell him to go into hiding. Finally, she will tell her prophecy as the castle will collapse in flames. I believe that a this moment she chose to teleport 20 years in the future to see if the scabbards would succeed. It is possible that she chose a date further back in time than the scabbards and that she hasnt even reappeared in the present a this stage. If she decided to do that, I dont think it would be shown just yet in the story. In the second half of the chapter we will have the last panels from the past and transition back to the present, on the shore where the scabbards were awaiting their allies. Their argument will be interrupted when an arrow with a message will land close to them, an arrow shot by Usopp from far away and bearing a message from Luffy.
I think this 3rd act needs to address two more plot points regarding Wano's intrigues before the raid on Onigashima takes place in the fourth act. Who is the traitor, and who really is Kyoshiro ? There are chances these two intrigues are linked, and will be solved together. And for that, the plot needs to move back to the flower capital.
So about Kyoshiro. I do believe in the theory where Denjiro and Kyoshiro are the same person. There are several clues leading to that. First, there is the fact Kyoshiro is not loyal to Orochi, at all. He has also been introduced in the first act along the remaining scabbards. Kiku: chapter 913, Kyoshiro: chapter 919, Ashura: chapter 920, Kawamastu: chapter 920. Conveniently, he is also a samurai and money changer. When he finds the card with Kinemons coded message for the rebellion, he seems to understand it. For the record, only those who secretely swore 20 years ago to rize up when the time is ripe were meant to understand the message (so those who had a crescent tatoo on their ankle). He also talks about Toki's death like a first-hand witness. But who was there when she died ? Kaido, his men, maybe some retainers of Kuri and probably Denjiro and Ashura. Where Im getting is that story-wise Kyoshiro was left behind in the capital on purpose. He will join the uprising and enable the thousand or so captured samurai in the capital to take up arms (which will bring their forces to ~5000, the ideal number Kinemon was hoping for at the start of the arc). He will also potentially help in finding the traitor if there is any.
Speaking of the traitor. I tried spinning the problem in every direction I could think of. There are too many possibilities still when you consider that important info might be withheld by Oda. For instance, it is possible that Shinobu was captured and tortured 20 years ago, had her spirit broken and now secretely serves Orochi. Which would explain the contrast between the thorough and badass Shinobu from the past and the goofy and somewhat incompetent Shinonu from the present. Or the two are not the same person and the present one is an impostor. Still too many possibilities, and not only regarding Shinobu.
A word regarding Luffy/Joy Boy. I really don't think Oda is taking the path of some "reincarnation". I think only the will/drive for freedom is surviving and passing from individual to individual. But all is not about the will and ideal. One can only accomplish so much without some sort of natural power. Some people are forces of nature and blessed with attributes such as conqueror haki/ ability to hear the voice of all things/ ability to turn all the people around you into allies. There is one or more of such type born with those attributes in each generation. All of them will not use these abilities for good purposes. All of them will not become explorers or pirates, all of them will not have the opportunity to reach Laugh Tale and learn the secrets of the world. And even if they did, we understand now that they need at least the help of Poseidon to do anything about it. I think Montblanc Norland was a predecessor of Luffy and Roger. He ran out of luck and got executed before accomplishing more. Roger was a "chosen one" as much as Luffy and Norland but was too early and he understood it. He was still the first to reach the last island since the void century and decided to make good use of this feat for the future. With Luffy we are only following the story of that one capable man who came at the right time, who was by any means luckier that all those who preceded him. The reason Oden really believes in the coming of a new Joy Boy in 20 years is because of what he heard from the sea kings and the actions of Roger. By talking of the One Piece and initiating a new pirate era, Roger ensured that the capable individual(s) of the next generation had a pretty good chance to strife for freedom and try to explore the whole world and its history.

S-M-R-T! I mean, S-M-A-R-T: “Fist of the North Star Side Story: The Genius Amiba’s Otherworld Conqueror Legend”
Isekai are so ubiquitous these days that there exist genre parodies of famous properties. Whether it’s being reborn as Yamcha from Dragon Ball Z or Kycilia Zabi from Gundam, we have yet another twist to a familiar gimmick. I generally don’t pay attention to such works, but I made an exception for a recent manga that asks, “What if Ameba (aka Fake Toki) from Fist of the North Star got sent to…

@hikarixchikara
Mika sighed as she had to push Toki back down in her bag.
“Not at school, remember?” she whispered.
Toki gave her an annoyed look, but managed to make a space for herself to nap anyways. Mika looked around the hall and noticed another girl not too far away. She could feel a pit in her stomach as she worried if Toki was noticed. How would she explain Toki here? Strange rabbit probably wouldn’t be so effective on school campus... Should she say something?
“H-hello...” she finally spoke up.
Toki poked her head out a little to see who Mika was talking to.

But just imagine: It's 20XX and the nukes didn't drop. Toki is busy not being radioactive and getting a degree so he can pay lip service to being a doctor. Kenshiro and Yuria are on tour around the world ostensibly to find a successor but more because it's not fair for any one nation to hog the two. Shu has taken up being an english tutor to help pay his wife's medical bills because he doesn't want no Nanto assassination money in their simple home. Shiba, Lin, & Bat all go to school together.
🙏🙏🙏
I’ve mentioned before that it was said somewhere in the manga/anime that the apocalypse was what the characters needed to act out their destinies, so I’m more left wondering what would happen to the characters who didn’t seem to have much else going for them, other than domination. Winning. Kenshiro certainly is focused on fulfilling his destiny as hokuto successor, but he also has Yuria and had planned a life with her. Toki had planned to be a doctor and use his powers that way until he felt it was sort of his… duty? To fight Raoh and to try for successor. Shu seemed completely on the defensive, just protecting families and children from Souther…
So I do wonder what characters like Souther or Raoh would do if the bombs didn’t drop. Souther was shown being a teacher at a (the? always wondered if there were more than one nanto school, it does seem like a more nebulous martial art) nanto school, I guess we could assume he continues doing that even after Shu defends Kenshiro and goes on his own way.
(Someone also told me that it seems Nanto masters are rewarded with money/get paid a lot, so I suppose that would be as good a motivation as any to stick with the art regardless of the state of the planet! So I guess we could assume that is what Shin, Rei, and Juda would still be up to.)
Raoh “I Will Rule The Heavens” Conqueror of the Wastelands… ya girl still hasn’t finished the first part of FotNS but I know at least some of his backstory with Toki now and I…? What in the world would Raoh do… I guess all he could do is train and try to be successor but with a goal that lofty… dunno about that.
We don’t really know anything about the ladies’ lives before the apocalypse! We know Yuria’s with Kenshiro and has her whole Nanto deal, but Mamiya and Airi… well, I would hope they have good lives with their not murdered families and loved ones!! Finally, good hypothetical contents.
