“If it makes ya feel any better I’ve had Agumon for about six or so years now and he still won’t fully listen to me. Digimon all got their own personalities, most to compliment the person. Might be why Toki is the way she is.” But that’s his best guess. “Alright then, so what do you need to know? ‘Cause there’s not much to really tell.”
A smile crossed her face as Marcus reassured her, but she had to think through her questions. She didn’t expect to actually get this far.
“Um, I guess how can they even exist in the real world? I mean if they’re digital, how are they so real here?” she could understand if he didn’t have the answer, but it was something that she couldn’t help wondering.
“Oh! I have a question!” Toki piped up.
A question from Toki? Knowing her it had to have something to do with food...
Except...
“Can you help us track down a Digimon?” she asked and Mika’s face turned pale.
Mika knew who Toki meant, the so-called Night Digimon. Despite Mika’s corrections, Toki still insisted on calling them that... Mika lowered her head and looked away.
“Toki, th-that’s not important...”

RPers, please reblog this if you’re ok with para responses that don’t include dialogue.
Often it seems like an expectation that dialogue will be exchanged in every para response, but sometimes characters are nonverbal, or don’t have anything to say, or are in a situation that would make talking impractical. If the writer puts enough attention into describing their actions, though, there’s still plenty to respond to even without dialogue. Non-dialogue responses are not “going nowhere.” Non-dialogue responses are not “filler.” Non-dialogue responses are not non-responses.

Marcus squints, looking between Toki and Mika, If anything, he’d believe Mika first, and honestly, he hoped this wasn’t going to bite him in the ass down the road. It probably didn’t help that he didn’t want to see the other start crying.
“Alright, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you’re not a bad guy. But if those were crocodile tears I’ll find you later and arrest you.” Shaking his head, he gestures to Toki. “So let me guess, unruly Digimon who doesn’t listen to a word you say?”
“Yeah, pretty much,” Mika nodded. “I mean it’s nice to have company, but Toki can be a little... eccentric...”
There was a look of pride on Toki’s face as Mika talked. Then again, pride seemed to be a common expression for the strange little creature.
“So, with these digimon, Toki doesn’t seem to know a lot about where she’s from. She knows about the whole digivolving stuff, but she can’t learn me too much more than that.” Mika explained to Marcus.

“Should you really be tellin’ me that? Then again it doesn’t look like ya know what DATS is. Basically, we help with Digimon related problems, making sure nobodies causin’ trouble.” He leans forward, squinting hard at the both of them. “Do I need to take you both in for questioning? ‘Cause you sound like a couple of bad guys, talkin’ about conquering.”
“A-a bad guy?” Mika’s eyes began to well up. “I promise you, I have no intention of letting her conquer anything! I’m not even fully convinced she knows what it means!”
“Of course I know what it means to conquer things! I am Toki the Conqueror!’
Mika let out a sigh, “please stop talking. You’re getting us into trouble...”
“As it is now, I’ve just about conquered the Kato residence!” Of course she wouldn’t stop talking.
“You have a spot you like on the couch and I let you sleep on my bed. That’s it.” Mika shook her head.
“Exactly! Conquered!” Toki was beaming with pride while Mika prayed she wasn’t about to get arrested.

Both pause mid-wrestle to stare at the others. Marcus has never seen either of them before, but then again he was in the digital world for five or so years. Maybe they were new DATS recruits? Finally letting go of Agumon, Marcus shoves his hands in his pockets.
“As long as yer not pickin’ a fight with me ya got no reason to apologize. You a new DATS member?”
“ I’m Agumon, and this is Boss! “
“It’s Marcus, not Boss. He won’t give up the whole Boss thing. I just let him do what he wants, not like he listens to me half the time anyway.”
“DATS?” Mika asked.
“I am no DATS. I am Toki the Conquerer!” the Tsukaimon proclaimed and Mika shook her head.
“She hasn’t conquered anything...” Mika replied.
“Yet!” Toki replied then opened her mouth looking to show off her teeth.
Of course, there were none. As per usual, Toki forgot that her rookie level did not have teeth, so she only showing off the black hole known as her mouth.
“So, is DATS linked to this digimon stuff?” Mika continued on, knowing that Toki was too busy to look for answers herself.

Agumon, despite his grumbling stomach, sticks his nose in the air and begins to do a sniff, causing Marcus to stop short. There’s no way another digimon aside from Lalamon and Gaomon could be here…right?
“Oi c’mon now, whatcha sniffin’ for? Yoshino’s probably at home and we both know Thomas went back to his own country. I think it was a country anyways. Lalamon and Gaomon are back in the digital world too, so stop sniffin’ like that. We’ll get some food.”
“ But Boss… I do smell another digimon. “
There’s a tired groan as Marcus literally wrestles the dino, trying to get him to listen. I’m sure they look like a couple of idiots right about now.
As Mika debated interacting with them, Toki slipped out of her bag and flew up to them.
“Interesting. Another digimon around here,” a big grin crossed Toki’s face.
“Oh dear...” Mika muttered as she ran over grabbed Toki. “S-sorry. She doesn’t mean to cause any trouble.”
“Aw, Mika! Come on, let me fly around!”
Mika shook her head then spoke to the boy and his digimon, “H-hi, I’m Mika and this is Toki.”
“So, what kind of digimon are you?” Toki bluntly asked as she briefly ceased her struggles.
This time she was looking at Agumon, but that was more so because Mika had taught her what a regular person is. Still, couldn’t convince Toki that the so-called ‘night digimon’ was also human, but Mika had learned to pick her battles with the Tsukaimon.

@mikaandtoki has met someone new!
“ Boss i’m hungry! “
“You’re always hungry.”
The two had just come from the digital world, hungry as can be per usual. Seeing as they still had their work cut out for them. Marcus was unaware that anyone was even around, hence why he let Agumon out of the digivice. Not that the digimon would even stay in it.
“ When are we gonna get some food? “
“When we get home, Agumon. It’s not like I can walk up to a Mcdonalds and be like ‘hey my digimon here wants a burger.’ y’know? Learn to be a little patient.” He’s probably none the wiser to the fact someone might be nearby.
A digimon? Mika didn’t normally eavesdrop, but that word was holding more significance as of late. However, it seemed she wasn’t the only one who picked up on the word. Toki began to stick her head out of Mika’s bag.
“Toki!” she whispered and tried to push her back in, “you have to stay in there when we’re out and about. I can’t pass you off as a weird rabbit when you’re purple and have bat wings for ears.”
She looked back at the guy she passed, debating if it was better or worse if he heard them. If he knew about digimon, perhaps he could help her learn more about them, but if not... How weird and awkward would this be? As she mentally debated herself, Toki had once again looked out at the duo.
“Think I could conquer them in battle?” she asked.
“Toki, no conquering...”

(I should probably figure out what Toki’s Mega level is. Like, I love the Demon Lords, but is that too much for an OC? Like, maybe Lilithmon in a darker AU. But, for Toki’s regular mega, I just can’t decide...)

Mimi nodded. “Yeah! There’s actually a whole bunch of us! In Japan, there are just a handful. We’re all here in Tokyo. But there’s members all over the world! In America, China, India, Canada, Mexico, France… really, there’s at least a hundred of us!”
Mimi started counting on her fingers as she thought of the various places that held other digidestined, the chosen children with partners. But she stopped when she realized the precise number didn’t matter.
“When did you and Toki meet? I met Palmon when I was ten.”
“I’d been waiting for Mimi my whole life!” Palmon said. “I was so happy to finally meet her!”
“O-oh wow!” Mika spoke. “That sounds amazing!”
There was an undeniable comfort in that statement. Others with digimon... This was amazing, not just for her, but also for Toki! The other digimon could help them both learn more about the Digital World and what it meant to be a digidestined.
“Toki just showed up on my doorstep one night just a few weeks ago.”
“There was a night digimon going after her door and I chased them off!” Toki declared.
“T-Toki...” Mika muttered.
“She let me in and then the next morning, a digivice appeared!” Toki grinned.

“The Conqueror. Well, I guess we’ll certainly have to watch out for you now, won’t we?” Mimi laughed.
She looked up to Mika, tilting her head slightly. “You don’t know? Digidestined are kids chosen by the Digital World to protect both our worlds. I kinda figured we all knew.”
Curious. Meiko had known, though she was also heavily involved with the government. Or some seedy agency bent on taking digital matters into their own hands. All the other kids from around the world seemed to figure things out for themselves. “Well, I guess you know now!”
Toki gave a big grin in response to Mimi’s comment, happily showing off all her teeth.
“T-Toki’s quite an energetic little one.” Mika chuckled a little.
Chosen to protect two worlds? Her? It was certainly surprising to her... Toki maybe, but her? There must have been a mistake made somewhere...
“I see.” Mika nodded.
“I want to see the Digital World again!” Toki exclaimed. “I don’t remember too much about it, but I remember it being a nice, warm place. Mika would love it!”
“Th-thank you for the information.” she forced a smile. “You said ‘we.’ So, there are others out there too?”
