The fact that Percy went missing only a few months later after this makes me so upset.

They were finally experiencing peace, finally able to see what it feels like to just be kids, and they finally got together after all those years. They felt what it was like to be happy together. They had so much hope for the future.

And then he went missing. For eight months. And they had to save the world again. And fell into Tartarus. And with that gained a bunch of new and fresh trauma they most likely will never truly recover from.

Connor is quieter and less trusting than Travis

Travis is faster than Connor

Connor is better at unlocking stuff

They can both speak sooooo many languages

They're both rlly rlly smart they js don't act like it

Connor's hair is always at least a little bit longer than travis'

Travis is taller than Connor but u can't tell unless they're right next to each other

Travis gets hurt more (mainly bc he tries to keep Connor safe a lot and would literally take an arrow for him (and has, Connor yelled at him for it))

they have their ears pierced. They don't wear earrings often but they lost a bet to sm1 in the Aphrodite cabin so they had to get their ears pierced (drew complained for a week abt the fact that "their shouldn't be able to look that good with earrings this was supposed to be a coincidence not a chance for them to look so fucking fashionable)

Connor is actually pretty good friends w Drew

They were rlly good friends w Lee and Michael and Connor sobbed when they died when him and Travis were alone (Travis did too but only after Connor fell asleep)

connor doesn't trust as easy as Travis so it took him so long to trust Chris again after he came back from the labyrinth and wasn't crazy anymore (Travis immediately trusted Chris after he confirmed that he wasn't working w luke anymore)

Lee tried to reach Connor to bake but Lee is terrible at cooking and baking (and his mother is like never around so literally no one knows how he didn't starve when he wasn't at camp) so they had to ask Chris and Selina to help them and then they made cupcakes with their help (chris' mom taught him how to bake and Selina used to help out at her dad's bakery)

Chris knew Connor had forgiven him when he came back to cabin 11 one day and there was a cupcake on his bed in a little cupcake box w a note that said "from Connor"

Travis and Connor were homeless for a while before an older demigod (probably luke or sm1) found them

Annabeth is actually good friends with them and when she first met them she didn't believe that they weren't twins

Lee taught Connor to play the lyre/harp

lee taught Travis how to play the trombone

Michael helped them with archery

Beckendorf would make locks for Connor to try and unlock

they love playing pranks for revenge lol

they also play a lot of pranks w Percy

They were rlly trying to be there for Nico while his sister and Percy was on a quest and we're rlly nervous for him when he left (bc he hadn't even been claimed let)

absolute menaces. They will prank the shit out of u and then get u the most expensive gift they can find for her bday

clarrise pretends like she hates them but she rlly doesn't

Their friends w Malcolm, one of annabeth's half-brothers bc Malcolm is yearround and annabeth always drags him into 2v2 competition w the stolls lol

Some ppl get annoyed w the stolls bc they're not "responsible enough" to be cabin leaders but they're only rlly cabin leaders bc luke and a bunch of the other older hermes kids left so Travis ended up being the oldest in the cabin so he was literally forced into leadership while he was like 12-14 (and then he decided to co-lead w connor)(the same thing happened to will after Lee and Micheal and a lot of the older apollo kids died in the titan battle)

maybe it's my freaky good memory for my special interests, maybe i just dont have anything better to think about, or maybe its that ive been in this fandom for too long and i am now a Wisen Elder but it seems like i come across a lot of posts or questions from demigods who dont know lore thats been known for a long while and im genuinely curious

Fox Mulder doesn't have the "I Want To Believe" poster there because he's crazy. He doesn't have it there to broadcast his beliefs or as a mantra or to remind him to always look for aliens.

Fox Mulder keeps that "I Want To Believe" sign above his desk to remind him of his own internal biases.

That sign hangs above Mulder's desk to remind him of his own shortcomings and flaws. He's aware that he's a hack with dangerous beliefs and prone to flights of fancy and maybe even delusions. He's aware that he's desperately searching for aliens and monsters where there are only men doing bad things. And he has to remind himself of that, constantly.

That's why he's thrilled when he meets Scully and she challenges his beliefs, says that logically aliens don't exist. He's thrilled when she tells him to cut the crap in the pilot episode. He needs someone to challenge him. He needs someone who won't take his shit and put up with his flights of fancy. And he knows it. He's been dealing with himself for years and he feels relief and joy when Scully comes in and says enough of your bullshit. We're doing this my way. With science and logic. He isn't smiling and teasing her because he thinks he's smarter and better than her. He's smiling because she's exactly the person he needs in his life.

That's why he tells her right away that he's a UFO freak with trauma about his sister and a true believer. Not because he's trying to convince her to believe, but because he needs her to understand where he's coming from and what's wrong with him. So she can understand that either he's a dangerous lunatic himself, or he's delving into a dangerous conspiracy and either way she could be collateral damage if she stays with him. He spends the pilot episode reckoning with the idea that either he's a maniac or he's pulling this young fresh detective into danger. When she starts agreeing with him he gets upset, talks her out of it.

Mulder keeps that sign above his desk to remind himself to look into the "reasonable logical" explanations. He keeps that sign on his desk because he knows he's flawed and biased and frankly, dangerous.

He tells Scully exactly what he thinks is happening and about all the crazy stuff he believes not because he's trying to convince her to believe too, but so she can be his sounding board. So she can throw his illogical bullshit back in his face and remind him to look past his own biases and paranoia and quasi-religious zealotry. Because he knows he needs that. He knows he's in a conspiracy brained echo chamber of his own making and having a slow-burn mental breakdown. And he sees Scully as salvation from himself. As another figure in his quasi-religious belief system. The savior.

As the series develops he relies on her more and more to reality check him. Literally reality check him and manage what he worries might all be a delusion.

Mulder pretends he's confident and all the constant criticism and sidelong glances don't get to him and that might be true because he doesn't respect those people but he respects Scully. And he needs someone he respects to tell him when he's wrong, when he's being biased or actively delusional. Scully is his salvation. She's compassionate about his trauma and the reasoning behind his beliefs, but confident and logical enough to tell him when it's all bullshit. She's his savior, his rock, and often his only real connection to material reality.
