#The Bowuigi Medley Saga

Happy Holidays! Here's The Bowuigi Medley!

I've done it! I've created a (mostly) Mario medley based entirely on Bowuigi.

Heads Up: While putting this together, I realized this medley gets a bit crunchy on mobile device speakers. I'd recommend use of headphones or a desktop or such to listen to this, if that option is available to you.

Clocking in at 6 minutes, it's not my longest medley, though I think it's the one I put the most thought into overall. There's a whole story outline in my mind, with acts and everything, that determined pretty much every detail of how this was put together. I won't be posting said 'story' here, though I'll likely be making a post of it soon (which I'll link here once I do).

There's multiple sections in here that I might end up isolating and extending into full pieces. I didn't expect Luigi's and Bowser's music to gel together as well as they did, though I guess the same could be said for the ship as a whole.

My next endeavor will probably be a winter-y themed medley of sorts. That was, as it happens, my original plan for a Christmas release, but Bowuigi took over my brain, so this ended up coming first.

Actual Factual: My Bowuigi Medley got a like and repost on SoundCloud two days before I posted it to Tumblr, because some advertiser bot found it when I first uploaded it.

It didn't even get a play counted to it because the bot just liked it and moved on.

So, I couldn't sleep, so I obviously worked on the medley instead.

Excited to say, it practically done! The full piece is made and I'm loving how it came out, it just needs some refining in a few places to make everything a bit more congruent, but other than that, I'm pretty much there! ☆

If it weren't 3am I'd probably go ahead and finish it now...

At this point, I'm considering it as my Christmas present to the Bowuigi fandom.

I'm super amped to release the final product! ☆

Hoping to actually get back on the Bowuigi Medley tomorrow. Intended to be working on it and have nearly a full (though unrefined) piece put together by now but medical stuff has had me down for the count the past couple days.

Thought my mom did also kinda subtly suggest that she’s gonna be needing my help with stuff tomorrow so any work I can get in on the medley will probably be very late in the day.

As of right now, I've finished the Bowuigi medley in its entirety. Everything has been refined and it's ready to go. I have it scheduled to post at midnight (EST)—just under an hour or so from now—in dedication specifically for the few of you who always seem to be around to like my Bowuigi Medley Saga updates, even when they’re at 3 in the morning (I appreciate you!!!).

As with my prior medleys, I will also be reblogging it periodically throughout the day for the sake of it being accessibly timed to other timezones (such as my own lol), because I'm nothing if not proud and obnoxious.

But anyway, I'm going to sleep now. Merry Chrismas Eve, Happy Sixth Day of Chanukah, Happy Kwanzaa Eve Eve, Happy Fourth Day of Yule, Happy Final Day of Advent, and Happy Holidays!

I did end up getting to do some work on the medley! I think it's coming along very well (though I'm undeniably biased).

There's a whole story forming in my head alongside the piece at this point to go alongside the order things are in the piece. I can't say I'm sure how well said story would come through in the finished piece without it actually being explained, though I guess we'll see.

(I'll probably have a very long post of my thought process and the bits of a story in it after I release the finished piece, just for the sake of getting that stuff out of my head.)

Current estimate says I'm somewhere a bit over halfway done—if we're going by the sections I've divided it into it's actually closer to two thirds, but I do expect the final part (the third act, more-or-less) to be the most complex to arrange.

Either way, assuming no other major hitches stop me from having the time to work on it, I anticipate being able to release a finished result in just a few days! ☆

That being said, there's supposedly a high chance of a major power-outage tomorrow, so...

i haven't even put a single note down into this thing yet but i'm already losing my mind

Calling it for the night here, probably won’t work on it tomorrow, unfortunately.

This is turning out to be a bit more painful than I anticipated, but I’m roughly a third of the way done at this point; Though, the other two thirds are likely going to be more complex so saying a fourth might be a bit closer (plus I’ll probably end up revising some stuff anyway)

at first i wasn't sure how well this would actually go because of how Luigi and Bowser are very different characters, so I'd assume the music reflects that most of the time

but then i realized

lots of Luigi's tracks are in minor keys because his main series is about haunted mansions and ghosts and spooky stuff

and

lots of Bowser's tracks are in minor keys because he's the main villain so it's all evil and whatnot

so in a sort of roundabout way, they kinda converge on each other in a way that might make it so this actually works out easier than i expected
