You and the cosmos
megumi x gn!reader
me breaking my "no angst allowed" rule just this once bc i feel sad and i will make you feel sad too 😈nobody's allowed to be happy today
still this is pretty lighthearted for angst since i based it off andromeda andromeda by nayutalien
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You could say that you have a huge crush on your classmate, Fushiguro Megumi. He always looks so effortlessly handsome and you can't help but stare at him when his back is turned.
And you're not the only one who's all for getting together with him. Your friends always support you in any way they can and hear you out on your delusions regarding him. You always have so much fun talking about him.
Truly, you feel the most happy when in his presence. And today, you will make a move.
After much convincing from your friends, you settled on placing a confession note under his desk. That'll get him to notice you. All your attempts of approaching him in more subtle ways didn't work out, after all.
You re-read the note for the thousandth time, making sure every word is spelled correctly before slipping it under his desk quickly and walking away as if nothing happened.
'Meet me behind the school next to the oak tree at 5 pm. I have something important to tell you.'
Now you just have to wait.
.
You might have gotten a little excited and came to the meeting place a whole 30 minutes early. Your friends were already waiting for you there, though. They helped you fix up your hair and helped you recite what you wanted to say, wishing you luck and leaving for club activities.
Oh, it should be about time for him to arrive. You can't believe it took you 20 minutes to properly recite your feelings. You're sort of scared, but also really excited.
You can feel your heart beating in your ears, and you're sure you're properly sweaty right now. It's a rush only someone in love can experience.
You lightly slapped your cheeks, looking at every possible corner he could arrive from and practiced your smile for a bit.
...
He's kind of taking a while, isn't he?
You checked your phone. 5 minutes over 5 pm. He must be busy today, or something. Five minutes isn't a big deal.
You opened your phone camera, making absolutely sure that you look good right now. This is a very important moment that you absolutely cannot mess up by looking strange.
But the minutes kept ticking away, and he still didn't show. Maybe he got asked to help someone clean up or got called to the office by the teacher. You mumbled your script to yourself for the final time.
The wind blowed against your face, making the leaves of the nearby oak tree rustle gently. The setting sun painted everything in a slightly orange hue.
It feels like you've been standing there for an eternity at this point. You shifted your weight from one leg to the other.
Sighing, you checked the time. 26 minutes over 5 pm.
...He's not going to show up, is he?
You knew it. You shouldn't have let your friends convince you to put that stupid note under his desk. You were so stupid for thinking he would even look your way when he talks to you like he does to everyone else. Like you're just another classmate.
It'll be okay. He isn't the type to bring these things up after they happen. You can always keep staring at him from afar. That way, both you and him are happy.
It's not like he's leaving forever. You can still look at him every day.
You slowly walked away from the oak tree, going to your shoe locker and putting on your shoes to head home.
He could have atleast showed up and told you "no". Well, you suppose that you got your answer either way.
You're perfectly okay with him not liking you back. So why are tears running down your face right now?
.
"Huh...? What's this?" Megumi felt an unfamiliar piece of paper when he reached under his desk the next month. He's looking for a missing science paper and he figured he might have left it under his desk. He took the mystery paper out, inspecting it.
"Meet me behind the school next to the oak tree at 5 pm. I have something important to tell you." he read the note quietly as to not raise attention from anyone in class.
"A confession note...? How long has that been there?" He whispered.

The Riddle of Tom Riddle: Part 3/7
(Part 1, Part 2, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7)
Wool's Orphanage
This is actually one of my favorite theories I ever made. The full psychoanalysis of Voldemort's character took some time to figure out, but I think I cracked it. I know why Tom did everything he did.
As it's a little long, I've broken it down into multiple posts. And I think there are gonna be 4 more besides this one. So, let's go make sense of Voldemort and prove he is reasonable, he just has some unexpected goals.
I want to preface all of this (and future posts) that the point isn't to excuse Voldemort and his various atrocities. But it bothers me when I don't understand why characters do the things they do. This is about understanding Tom Riddle and Voldemort.
Without farther adu:
So, we'll start our analysis from the beginning. Voldemort, or, more correctly — Tom Marvolo Riddle was born on December 31st, 1926, in a rundown orphanage in London:
“And Merope? She . . . she died, didn’t she? Wasn’t Voldemort brought up in an orphanage?” “Yes, indeed,” said Dumbledore. “We must do a certain amount of guessing here, although I do not think it is difficult to deduce what happened. You see, within a few months of their runaway marriage, Tom Riddle reappeared at the manor house in Little Hangleton without his wife. The rumor flew around the neighborhood that he was talking of being ‘hoodwinked’ and ‘taken in.’ What he meant, I am sure, is that he had been under an enchantment that had now lifted, though I daresay he did not dare use those precise words for fear of being thought insane. When they heard what he was saying, however, the villagers guessed that Merope had lied to Tom Riddle, pretending that she was going to have his baby, and that he had married her for this reason.” “But she did have his baby.” “But not until a year after they were married. Tom Riddle left her while she was still pregnant.”
(Half-Blood Prince, page, 214)
So, one important little disclaimer:
A lot of the information we have about Tom comes from Dumbledore's guesswork. As Dumbledore has an agenda in all his "lessons" with Harry and that I have a whole series of posts dedicated to my strong feelings regarding Dumbledore's machinations, we need to approach everything he says with a grain of salt.
This part is pretty true though. Merope does enchant or dose Tom Riddle Sr with a love potion or some other spell and gets pregnant. We also know that for some reason, she stopped with the enchantments/potions at some point and wound up alone in London, with no family, no money, and on death's door.
“I was wondering whether you could tell me anything of Tom Riddle’s history? I think he was born here in the orphanage?” “That’s right,” said Mrs. Cole, helping herself to more gin. “I remember it clear as anything, because I’d just started here myself. New Year’s Eve and bitter cold, snowing, you know. Nasty night. And this girl, not much older than I was myself at the time, came staggering up the front steps. Well, she wasn’t the first. We took her in, and she had the baby within the hour. And she was dead in another hour.”
(Half-Blood Prince, page 266)
This is from Dumbledore's memory, but it seems factual enough. Dumbledore also has no reason to lie about this.
So, Tom was raised all his childhood in a London orphanage in the late 1920s and 1930s. These orphanages were dreary, lonely places:
The children are fed and clothed but there is a dreary uniformity to the picture, emphasised by the black and white image. Boys eat in regimental lines, seated on hard benches, and those waiting to sit down are also assembled in a strict line. The attendants you can glimpse are dressed in black and white uniforms, a stark echo of the grey and black of the boys’ clothes. A few pictures adorn the walls – one looks as though it’s about to fall to the ground – but there are no curtains, no floor covering, no comfort.
(Source)
This was not a pleasant place to be raised in. And considering Mrs. Cole's words: "Well, she wasn’t the first", the orphanage was probably crowded. This was after World War One, and Britain and Europe as a whole were still licking their wounds. Poverty is high, food is low, and the inflation rate is insane.
And this is the world Tom grows up in. A dreary, lonely existence, where if he didn't fight for his food, he probably didn't get left any.
And when the Second World War started in 1939 (his second year at Hogwarts), things just got worse, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Then she said, “He’s a funny boy.” “Yes,” said Dumbledore. “I thought he might be.” “He was a funny baby too. He hardly ever cried, you know. And then, when he got a little older, he was . . . odd.”
...
because she said in a sudden rush, “He scares the other children.” “You mean he is a bully?” asked Dumbledore. “I think he must be,” said Mrs. Cole, frowning slightly, “but it’s very hard to catch him at it. There have been incidents. . . . Nasty things . . .” Dumbledore did not press her, though Harry could tell that he was interested. She took yet another gulp of gin and her rosy cheeks grew rosier still. “Billy Stubbs’s rabbit . . . well, Tom said he didn’t do it and I don’t see how he could have done, but even so, it didn’t hang itself from the rafters, did it?” “I shouldn’t think so, no,” said Dumbledore quietly. “But I’m jiggered if I know how he got up there to do it. All I know is he and Billy had argued the day before. And then” — Mrs. Cole took another swig of gin, slopping a little over her chin this time — “on the summer outing — we take them out, you know, once a year, to the countryside or to the seaside — well, Amy Benson and Dennis Bishop were never quite right afterwards, and all we ever got out of them was that they’d gone into a cave with Tom Riddle. He swore they’d just gone exploring, but something happened in there, I’m sure of it. And, well, there have been a lot of things, funny things. . . .”
(Half-Blood Prince, pages 267-268)
We learn some interesting things here, quite a few of them actually. That Tom doesn't have any friends. That the other orphans and the caretakers in the orphanage all think he's weird. They thought he was odd since he was a baby... and this is starting to get familiar. there's a reason Tom mentioned he and Hary are similar:
Because there are strange likenesses between us, Harry Potter. Even you must have noticed. Both half-bloods, orphans, raised by Muggles. Probably the only two Parselmouths to come to Hogwarts since the great Slytherin himself. We even look something alike. . . .
(Chamber of Secrets, page 292)
Because they are.
From Mrs. Cole's words, it seems Tom wasn't liked by the kids and staff and he fought back in the only way he could. His magic. It isn't that much different than Harry's apparating away from Dudley's gang or setting the boa constrictor on his cousin. The situations are awfully similar.
“How do you do, Tom?” said Dumbledore, walking forward and holding out his hand. The boy hesitated, then took it, and they shook hands. Dumbledore drew up the hard wooden chair beside Riddle, so that the pair of them looked rather like a hospital patient and visitor. “I am Professor Dumbledore.” “ ‘Professor’?” repeated Riddle. He looked wary. “Is that like ‘doctor’? What are you here for? Did she get you in to have a look at me?” He was pointing at the door through which Mrs. Cole had just left. “No, no,” said Dumbledore, smiling. “I don’t believe you,” said Riddle. “She wants me looked at, doesn’t she? Tell the truth!” He spoke the last three words with a ringing force that was almost shocking. It was a command, and it sounded as though he had given it many times before. His eyes had widened and he was glaring at Dumbledore, who made no response except to continue smiling pleasantly. After a few seconds Riddle stopped glaring, though he looked, if anything, warier still. “Who are you?” “I have told you. My name is Professor Dumbledore and I work at a school called Hogwarts. I have come to offer you a place at my school — your new school, if you would like to come.” Riddle’s reaction to this was most surprising. He leapt from the bed and backed away from Dumbledore, looking furious. “You can’t kid me! The asylum, that’s where you’re from, isn’t it? ‘Professor,’ yes, of course — well, I’m not going, see? That old cat’s the one who should be in the asylum. I never did anything to little Amy Benson or Dennis Bishop, and you can ask them, they’ll tell you!” “I am not from the asylum,” said Dumbledore patiently. “I am a teacher and, if you will sit down calmly, I shall tell you about Hogwarts. Of course, if you would rather not come to the school, nobody will force you —” “I’d like to see them try,” sneered Riddle.
(Half-Blood Prince, pages 269-270)
Now, I marked a few sections in this scene because there are some interesting things to talk about when it comes to Tom's psychology.
First, I'd like to talk about Tom's assumptions here. The first thing Tom assumes the moment Dumbledore introduces himself as a "professor" is that he is here to take a look at Tom — to take him away to the Asylum. Considering how quickly Tom came to that conclusion one has to assume it's something he heard before.
It means the people around him, probably both the caretakers at the orphanage and the other children repeatedly told him he was insane and would be better off at the Asylum. He spent his childhood being told he belonged in a madhouse.
I don't think I need to explain what kind of damage that does to a child. Tom grows up completely isolated from his peers and caretakers, everyone hates him because he is different. So Tom latched on to the idea that he was better. Because if he was different, and he was, and he wasn't better, it meant he was worse than them — it meant they were right about him. Tom thinking overly highly of himself is a coping mechanism and a lie (to himself most of all).
The thing is, while he is aware he is smart and capable, we'll see later in his life how he continuously seeks out validation and connection since he didn't get either until he was eleven. And like any child, he wants these things, he wants praise, attention, and connection. Telling himself he is better, and therefore above such needs, is a way to try and convince himself everything is fine.
The second thing from the above quote is his trust issues. Dumbledore tries to tell him he isn't taking him to the Asylum and Tom doesn't believe him. He immediately goes on the defensive.
As of Mrs. Cole's previous words, it's clear she blames Tom for things she has no evidence he did. And if we look at Harry's cases of accidental magic that harmed Dudley, a lot of them were out of his control. It's possible Tom wasn't completely intentional in everything he did, but took credit anyway if it meant the other kids left him alone and didn't bother him.
"|'d like to see them try," Tom said, he is already using fear. That is just as much a coping mechanism as his trust issues and air of superiority. When kids fear you, they don't bother you. If Amy and Dannis feared him they'd stop calling him a nut-case — If they feared him, they wouldn't bother him.
And Tom is used to his magic allowing him to get his way, forcing people to tell him the truth in an accidental version of the Imperious. It's important to remember he is a young child on the defensive. He has been on the defensive probably since he could comprehend language. As such, I'm not surprised to see him use his magic to make people treat him better — or at the bare minimum, not lie to him.
All I see from the above interaction is a scared, lonely child who never had anyone so he's on the defensive. He guards his heart and interests with all the weapons he has at his disposal because he has no one else who will. This is a child that needs help.
“Magic?” he repeated in a whisper. “That’s right,” said Dumbledore. “It’s . . . it’s magic, what I can do?” “What is it that you can do?” “All sorts,” breathed Riddle. A flush of excitement was rising up his neck into his hollow cheeks; he looked fevered. “I can make things move without touching them. I can make animals do what I want them to do, without training them. I can make bad things happen to people who annoy me. I can make them hurt if I want to.” His legs were trembling. He stumbled forward and sat down on the bed again, staring at his hands, his head bowed as though in prayer. “I knew I was different,” he whispered to his own quivering fingers. “I knew I was special. Always, I knew there was something.”
(Half-Blood Prince, page 271)
What we see here is actually really cute. Okay.
So, Tom Riddle, lonely and mistreated finally gets the confirmation that yes, he is special, not insane, he is better like he always tried to convince himself he was. So he immediately gets excited and starts gushing — boasting — about all the magic he can do. He's flushed and fevered and happy.
He is so excited to share this with someone else, to have someone like him, who understands him. He was elated at Dumbledore's existence at that moment.
This is a lonely 11-year-old child who never had a friend or kind caregiver in his life, trying to connect to the first adult to not call him insane. The first adult to tell him he was special, that he wasn't wrong.
And then Dumbledore speaks down to him and pretends to set all his (very few) belongings on fire.
Dumbledore raised his eyebrows. “If, as I take it, you are accepting your place at Hogwarts —” “Of course I am!” “Then you will address me as ‘Professor’ or ‘sir.’ ” Riddle’s expression hardened for the most fleeting moment before he said, in an unrecognizably polite voice, “I’m sorry, sir. I meant — please, Professor, could you show me — ?”
(Half-Blood Prince, pages 271-272)
This is the moment Dumbledore made his greatest mistake when it came to Tom Riddle. Instead of trying to direct him and help him like an educator, he showed his dislike for Tom. He thought Tom to close up his heart, that even among wizards he would not find this connection he seeks.
So Tom hardens his expression and goes to the cold, polite, distant mask we'll see him wear for the rest of his Hogwarts years.

Okay so far I’ve played Ted’s section 4 times, and I’d probably say that it is the easiest to complete out of all 5. I don’t want this to sound biased or anything since I’m a Ted fan and all. I just feel like there are very few mistakes that you can make and the size of the section makes it a lot easier to go through compared to some other characters.
Some things that can ruin Ted’s drama are,
- Forgetting/not knowing how to shut the door so the wolves don’t eat him.
- Summoning Surgat before trying to open the maid’s door earlier on. This makes it so the only option is to trade Ellen’s soul, but even if you do you can’t progress further in the story because you need to see inside that room(This only happened because I was rushing through my fouth replay.)
- Trapping the devil first, then showing Ellen the mirror 😭.
- Not memorizing the spell and turning into a frog.
Obviously there are still bad choices that you can make for him, but I think those four are the only things that halted his story for me. Despite these few things I think his story is easily one of the fastest to play through.
Now the hardest section is definitely hard to say for different reasons. In theory Benny’s should be one of the easier ones, but depending on the movement of the Elder, it can take significantly longer. I haven’t played Nimdok’s again since my first playthrough so I don’t remember how long it took or how hard it was, just that it was very easy to lock yourself out of being able to continue if you mess up with the eyes.
So I’d say it’s between Ellen and Gorrister. Both of their sections require you to walk around and backtrack a LOT. Gorrister’s is a bit more annoying to walk through, in my opinion, because there are a lot of different levels and doors and routes to go through. Whereas Ellen’s is big, but you follow one path back and forth for pretty much the whole story.
The hardest part for Ellen, is for me to remember to exhaust all possible options before continuing, such as
- Try picking up the yellow cloth again
- Talk to Anubis again after trying the key code, if you don’t and just go straight to reprogramming then you won’t have the dialogue option to discover the real code(Accidentally messed up here and turned my speedrun into a slowrun)
- Remember to interact with everything once you get out of the elevator before going to get the speaker, otherwise she obviously won’t take it because she doesn’t know what to use it for.
- When entering the secret passage you have to make such you are choosing the right interactive option otherwise she won’t enter
So I’d say Ellen’s can be difficult if you don’t follow the order of events properly. If you do though then it’s pretty straightforward.
Gorrister however is extremely tedious to work through, even if every step is taken correctly. There is so much back and forth, which wouldn’t be a problem if he didn’t have to actually move around so much to do it. I’d say the challenging stuff I’ve noticed in the two playthroughs I’ve done for him are
- Making the rope from the bedsheet
- Specifically choosing to take the heart rather than use rope or anything
- Using the knife to get the rope back
- Taking the key from the engine room, I always forget
- Stalling the engine before trying to let the gas out to land the zeppelin, and only stab two!
- Get the gun from under the pillow.
- Take magnifying glass from urinal
- Pour the whiskey again after Harry answers three things
- Have the rope to tie Edna, don’t forget the key.
-Burry Glynis but make sure you click shovel and not dessert.
- GIVE THE JACKYL A BEEF HEART, then Gorrister will have his heart for the finale section.
I feel like compared to Ellen, messing up most of this stuff won’t soft lock you from progressing, however it will be annoying to fix because you’ll have to walk back and forth multiple times. I think the landing of the Zeppelin can be very tricky though, even for a repeat player. So I still really can’t decide if I think Ellen or Gorrister’s section is more difficult.

First Date With The Undatables
Solomon X Reader, Simeon X Reader, Diavolo X Reader, Barbatos X Reader
Requested: Anon
Request: Can I ask for how would Solomon, Simeon, Diavolo, and Barbatos's first date with reader be like?
Solomon
✨ Solomon had been on many first dates but this was the first one that wasn’t for some kind of ulterior motive, so he actually put some thought into this one. ✨ When he asked you seemed confident enough and for the most part he was, with his life experience he was sure that he had read the signals correctly. ✨ Solomon got his idea from you yourself, though you didn’t realise what you were doing, he asked you questions in such a way that it didn’t seem suspicious or like anything that you needed to pay attention to. ✨ He learned that you were missing home and he had a spell that could help with that, so he decided to turn it into a date one that he hoped you would like too.
“Solomon, where are we going?” You asked as he dragged you towards Purgatory Hall. “You know where we’re going, you’ve made the journey enough times on your own.” He said as he looked back at you for a second. You rolled your eyes as he pulled you through the gates and towards the door that led to his room. “If this date is just another excuse for me to help you with some spell I swear-” “Do I really seem that bad?” He asked. “You’ve done similar things before…” You reminded him and he rolled his eyes before making you sit on the chair. “Actually I do have a spell but it’s going to take us to our date.” He said and you nodded before waiting for him to start. “Close your eyes.” You did as he asked, you could hear him moving but he didn’t actually say anything until he was standing behind you “open them.” When you opened them you found yourself on the street near your house. “Did you take us home?” You asked. “We’re not actually there but I heard how much you were missing home and thought that it might be nice to go for a stroll around your town for our first date.” He explained and you smiled as you stood from the bench that you had found yourself sitting on, you took his hand and dragged him along. “Come on, there's a park not far from here that I used to love going to!” You cheered. Solomon followed after you as you walked in to what he assumed was the park that you were talking about, you walked over to the swings and he stood behind you gently pushing you. “Thank you for this.” You said softly. “Of course.” He said as he walked around to the front of the swing holding the chains “I only want you to be happy.” “Well, I am.” You smiled as you leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek, he stopped you from leaning back and instead pressed a quick kiss to your lips. “Good.” He said softly before pulling you up to take a walk before the spell run out.
Tumblr media
Simeon
😇 Simeon hadn’t actually officially asked you on a date, you were out together as friends and one thing led to another, it was more of a natural progression. 😇 It kind of just slipped out of his mouth and you accepted the request but you didn’t think that the date would come around about 15 minutes after he had asked you. 😇 Simeon was aware of the fact that he was very rarely free because of having Luke around and also on occasion being caught up with Solomon and school work, so he took the opportunity when it came up. 😇 There was a new escape room, in the style of a murder mystery and he saw how excited you were as you explained how it worked, he asked you if you would think this was an appropriate date and off you went.
“You’ll probably figure this out in like 5 minutes, so give me a second okay?” You asked. “You have a lot of faith in me.” He smiled down at you and you frowned. “Writers can often figure this stuff out by looking at the story.” You informed him as you looked around for clue. “Oh!” You walked over to the first clue that he had spotted when he walked in, you read it out loud and got started on figuring it out with him giving small directions on where to go.
You were about half way through your 60 minutes and honestly almost finished with the puzzle, he smiled down at you as you paced, refusing to ask for a clue and refusing his help as well. “You are so cute.” He commented and you turned to look at him and pouted. “I’m dumb.” You mumbled. “No.” He said sternly as he walked over, you have all the pieces, you just need to put them together, he walked up behind you and spread the last three clues in front of you. They were supposed to give you the code that would open the door. “There’s no numbers…” You mumbled. “Maybe you are focusing on the wrong thing here.” He suggested. “What do you mean?” You asked. “Do you want my help?” He asked his hands resting on your shoulders, his cheek pressed against the side of your head. “Yeah.” You nodded. “What are the girls' names?” He asked. “June, August, April.” You listed. “Those are?” He asked. “Months.” You answered. “That can be displayed as?” He asked. “Number!?” You run over to the keypad putting the numbers hoping the order was the same as the order they were killed in. “Yeah! We did it!” “You did it,” Simeon said softly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “How about a reward for that? Ice cream?” “Yeah!” You cheered as he took your hand and walked you towards the ice cream parlour.
Tumblr media
Diavolo
👑 Diavolo just asked you, he literally did not care who was around where you were, he just asked you. 👑 Literally cancels everything for you, doesn’t matter what it is, it's off the schedule and you're on it. Lucifer literally has a heart attack. 👑 He didn’t really have a plan for what you were going to do, he just knew he wanted to know more about you. Barbatos suggested a movie night with some movies that you watched when you were little. 👑 This gave him all of the inspiration that he needed to think of something that he thought you would like.
Diavolo led you through the streets of Devildom to a shop that he had heard about, it sold things that were taken from the human world and remember someone mentioning movies from there too. He opened the door for you and you gasped as you walked in “Is everything okay?” He asked as he stood behind you. “Oh yeah, it just reminds me of a store back home.” You explained. “Is that a good thing?” He asked. “Yeah” You nodded as you pulled him through the store showing him toys and other things from when you were a kid. “Oh sorry we got side tracked, we came here for movies right?” “No, this was fun.” He smiled “It was nice to see what your childhood, what your life was like, it was very different from mine.” “Really?” You asked, he nodded. “Okay well next time you have to show me what your childhood was like, take me to places you used to go and movies that you used to watch.” “Next time?” Diavolo asked. “Yeah… Unless…” You frowned. “No no, next time.” He nodded before you pulled him over to the movies holding up ones that you recognised and finally deciding on a couple to buy.
When you got back to the castle, he took you to a room that was set up but before you put the movies on you turned to the blankets and pillows “have you ever made a pillow fort?” You asked. “No.” Diavolo frowned, he thought the smile on your face was beautiful as you pulled him into the room and started instructing him on things that you needed him to do. “You did this at home?” “Yeah, it's fun to make and you’ll see once we’re inside it just seems so safe and private.” You explained as you checked everything before gesturing for him to follow you in, you had built it around the TV that had been set up in the room, pillows set up to allow you both to sit comfortably even with Diavolo’s size. “This is amazing.” He said as he settled behind you while you put the disk in, you settled down next to him, as you watched the movies you slowly moved closer and closer until he had an arm wrapped around you, he eventually looked down to see that you had fallen asleep and smiled, he didn’t have it in him to wake you so instead he texted Lucifer to let him know that you were safe before settling himself sure that his body will protest the decision in the morning.
Tumblr media
Barbatos
🫖 Barbatos had been planning to get some time for a date but Diavolo needed his help for everything and while he knew the prince would give him time whenever he asked he knew he’d only get in trouble. 🫖 You understood his dedication to his job and waited patiently but he was starting to feel really bad every time that he had to postpone. 🫖 He worried that you’d get bored of waiting Diavolo had encouraged him to take the time that he needed. 🫖 Unfortunately an even came up that happened to be on the same day as your date was supposed to be, you were there in the kitchen as he was preparing food for the prince in his absence when Lucifer came in.
“Barbatos, we are in need of your services.” Lucifer said as he handed over the paper that he was holding, some kind of formal meeting and obviously they needed food, Lucifer didn’t really stick around to get confirmation he just assumed that Barbatos would get started, he probably didn’t even notice you in the room. “…I’m sorry.” He finally said and you looked at him and shook your head. “This is perfect!” You looked so excited but he was so confused. “Teach me how to cook.” “That’s what you want the date to be?” He asked. “I love when you cook, now you can teach me and I can help you and we can help with the meeting or whatever is going on out there.” You explained and he smiled softly. This was one of the reasons that he liked you, you never let any situation get you down and where you could adapt to fit it. “Are you sure?” He asked. “Mmhm.” You hummed, he walked over to a rack taking the apron he always wore and then grabbed another one walking over and putting yours on for you, he grabbed everything that he needed for the dish he decided to make before taking off his clothes you both washed your hands and got started. The first half of the meal was spent with him directing you on how to do things and occasionally showing you but the real teaching started with the pastries for dessert.
Barbatos stood behind you the whole time as you started making the pastry dough “gently mix everything until it looks like bread crumbs.” He said his chin rested on your shoulder as his arms wrapped around you to show you the correct way to mix everything, you slowly followed what he was doing. “If you speed up a little bit it’ll reduce the greasy texture.” He advised as he moved the water closer. Barbatos lifted the jug tipping in some water. “Oh! It’s starting to look like dough!” He smiled at how excited you were. “Told you it wasn’t that difficult.” He said softly. “That’s only because you know what you're doing.” You smiled as you looked up at him. “Right, we need to put it in the fridge to prove that for 30 minutes, we can eat while we wait.” He said as he pointed to two plates that he had put to the side. You sat and talked while you ate before finishing off the pastries which was a whole lot of fun and resulted in a little more mess than he was used to, while Barbatos carried out the dessert you cleaned the kitchen which honestly didn’t take long because it was, in fact, a contained mess. “I promise we will go on a real date soon.” He said as you turned to him. “This was a real date, I actually was going to ask you if you’d teach me more.” You explained and his eyes widened. “You were?” He asked. “Yeah.” You nodded. “How about some tea before I walk you home?” He asked. “Sure.” You nodded.

Lucy wrote her memorandum so no one else will get in trouble through her, and if I remember correctly Jonathan too at one point said that he's writing about what is happening as facts for someone else to benefit from if he perishes...
You have excellent timing, I was actually planning to talk about yesterday's Lucy/Jonathan parallels when I came back to see this. Yes! In fact, there are several lines which call back to Jonathan quotes:
"If this book should ever reach Mina before I do, let it bring my good-bye." Jonathan, 4 May "I write this and leave it to be seen, so that no one may by any chance get into trouble through me. This is an exact record of what took place to-night." Lucy, 17 September
I'm pretty sure Jonathan has a few other similar lines but this is the first one. And it becomes apparent that his journal is written for multiple purposes, including keeping his own sanity intact, serving as a record he can consult, a place he can be honest about his emotions... but from very early on it is also intended as a resource that can be seen by others. Jonathan's intention is for them to know the truth of what happened to him. But in a way at the end, the diary is also intended to serve the purpose of countermanding his own assistance in getting Dracula to England. He doesn't want anyone to 'get into trouble through him' either, it's what provokes him to make the shovel attack. (Alas, then he breaks down and his memory loss and trauma lead him to choose not to open it.)
And of course, Jonathan also has several different times he emphasizes that he is making an exact record. He's not the only one, of course. The Captain of the Demeter does the same. All three narrators who suffer from Dracula preying upon them for extended amounts of time take care to say this.
"I doubt; I fear; I think strange things, which I dare not confess to my own soul. God keep me, if only for the sake of those dear to me!" Jonathan, 5 May I have a dim half-remembrance of long, anxious times of waiting and fearing; darkness in which there was not even the pain of hope to make present distress more poignant: and then long spells of oblivion, and the rising back to life as a diver coming up through a great press of water. Since, however, Dr. Van Helsing has been with me, all this bad dreaming seems to have passed away; the noises that used to frighten me out of my wits—the flapping against the windows, the distant voices which seemed so close to me, the harsh sounds that came from I know not where and commanded me to do I know not what—have all ceased. [...] But I need not be watched; I am well enough to be left alone. Thank God for mother's sake, and dear Arthur's, and for all our friends who have been so kind! Lucy, 17 September
Lucy is more willing to confess to the strange things she thinks here, for the first time. Jonathan wasn't, in the beginning, and we aren't sure whether he ever fully did (he certainly had nightmares he wasn't talking about, regardless of how open he was about more confirmable experiences). But they both experience similar uncertainty about the reality of what is happening to them. They both suffer memory loss - at different points, maybe in somewhat different ways, but also maybe not that different? They also both hope to be saved for the sake of those who love them.
Something made me start up, a low, piteous howling of dogs somewhere far below in the valley, which was hidden from my sight. Louder it seemed to ring in my ears, and the floating motes of dust to take new shapes to the sound as they danced in the moonlight. I felt myself struggling to awake to some call of my instincts; nay, my very soul was struggling, and my half-remembered sensibilities were striving to answer the call. I was becoming hypnotised! Jonathan, 24 June I kept my eyes fixed on the window, but the wolf drew his head back, and a whole myriad of little specks seemed to come blowing in through the broken window, and wheeling and circling round like the pillar of dust that travellers describe when there is a simoon in the desert. I tried to stir, but there was some spell upon me, and dear mother's poor body, which seemed to grow cold already—for her dear heart had ceased to beat—weighed me down; and I remembered no more for a while. The time did not seem long, but very, very awful, till I recovered consciousness again. Somewhere near, a passing bell was tolling; the dogs all round the neighbourhood were howling; and in our shrubbery, seemingly just outside, a nightingale was singing. Lucy, 17 September
Both Jonathan and Lucy are hypnotized by vampires in their swirling specks of dust form. Both begin to come back to their senses as they hear dogs howling.
"If there were any one to talk to I could bear it, but there is no one. I have only the Count to speak with, and he!—I fear I am myself the only living soul within the place." Jonathan, 8 May "What shall I do? what can I do? How can I escape from this dreadful thing of night and gloom and fear?" Jonathan, 24 June "What am I to do? what am I to do? I am back in the room with mother. I cannot leave her, and I am alone, save for the sleeping servants, whom some one has drugged. Alone with the dead!" Lucy, 17 September
They both speak of being alone with the dead, though in Lucy's case she doesn't realize the full extent of the 'dead' who are with her. But both bring this up in the context of being unable to speak/communicate with other people, and in both cases this is because Dracula has deliberately isolated them. By trapping Jonathan in the castle, by drugging the maids...
I included the second Jonathan quote because I love how despite this completely understandable despair and uncertainty, both he and Lucy take action almost immediately after writing those lines. Jonathan decides to make the climb through the window the very next day, and Lucy resolves to hide her memorandum in order to make sure it is found. They both have very limited resources/options, but neither sinks into despair for too long. They fight till the end.
"The chances are desperate, but my need is more desperate still. I shall risk it. At the worst it can only be death; and a man's death is not a calf's, and the dreaded Hereafter may still be open to me. God help me in my task! Good-bye, Mina, if I fail; good-bye, my faithful friend and second father; good-bye, all, and last of all Mina!" Jonathan, 25 June "At least God's mercy is better than that of these monsters, and the precipice is steep and high. At its foot a man may sleep—as a man. Good-bye, all! Mina!" Jonathan, 30 June "I feel I am dying of weakness, and have barely strength to write, but it must be done if I die in the doing. [...] Good-bye, dear Arthur, if I should not survive this night. God keep you, dear, and God help me!" Lucy, 17 September
They both fully understand that they are facing death, and in fact are more likely to die than to survive. Both are certain the risk is worth it and press forward despite the danger/their fear or weakness. Both fear something worse than death happening to them, and appeal to god for a death as a human... though Lucy's pleas are less explicit about this because she doesn't remember enough to be able to verbalize any distinct other possibility.
And of course, when convinced they are about to die, both of them dedicate their final words to their loved ones.
.
And that's just the quotes that stuck out to me. There's also other things, like:
A shared feeling of inevitability (in Jonathan's case, externally imposed by Dracula's deadline/the threat of the vampire ladies; in Lucy's, it comes as a result of her long health struggles and the impending danger tonight she cannot stave off alone)
Being menaced by wolves under Dracula's command, who don't actively hurt either narrator but do serve to trap them in with him for the night
Everything about their nightmares, especially the timing of Jonathan's nightmares being specifically mentioned on the same day as Lucy's nightmare becomes a waking one
Each of their avenues of protection/escape being eroded or blocked one by one, leading them to lose hope for their survival. Sort of overlaps with that shared feeling of inevitability, but I wanna emphasize how Dracula is intentionally cutting them off repeatedly as they try various things.
I mentioned the dogs already, but Lucy's two encounters with Dracula in swirling speck form echo Jonathan's two close calls with the vampire ladies who first showed that form, except Jonathan was saved both times and Lucy wasn't. Even when she came out of the trance for a while, it was too late.
It was a lot.

Your class of third-year Hufflepuffs and Griffindors was extremely boisterous today. The teenagers were never really quiet by any means, but this was something different. Something was bothering them and you intended to find out before starting your lesson because you could tell no one was going to pay attention otherwise.
‘Attention please! What a commotion. Who can tell me what’s going on? Yes, Ron. Please do tell,’ you said, looking at the red-headed boy who was frowning.
‘It’s professor Snape, professor Y/L/N. He filled in for professor Lupin for Defence Against the Dark Arts class and it was such a horrible lesson. He gave us so much homework as well,’ Ron Weasley explained.
‘Two roles of parchment on werewolves, professor Y/L/N,’ Neville Longbottom added with a look of terror in his eyes. You knew the boy was terribly afraid of Severus Snape and failing and you immediately felt sorry for him.
‘He didn’t listen when we told him we’re not supposed to be learning about werewolves in a long time,’ Hermione Granger added.
You suddenly felt nauseous. What a pathetic and immature move Severus made. It didn’t sit well with you that he seemed to be out to get Remus in ways that were beyond you. The idea that students would find out about Remus’ condition scared you. You took a deep breath.
‘Okay, I totally understand why you’re upset, but you should discuss this with professor Lupin when he returns. I’m sure he will arrange something for you.’
‘Professor Lupin is the best Defence teacher we ever had. I hope he is back soon,’ Dean Thomas said and you couldn’t help but smile.
‘I’m glad to hear that, Dean. But for now, I need every single one of you to focus on Charms because I have a very exciting lesson planned for today. Please, books and quills away, all you need is your wand,’ you said while making a mental note to confront Severus yourself. This was just nasty bullying and it needed to stop.
Excited mumbles filled the classroom. A wands-only class was usually the favorite type of lesson for the students.
‘We’re discussing counter-spells today. Can anyone tell me what a counter-spell is?’ you asked and it wasn't a surprise that  Hermione Granger had raised her hand. You let her answer the question correctly, awarded her with 5 points for Gryffindor and then went to demonstrate the spell. All the while, Remus was on your mind.
~~**~~
When the third-years left the classroom, chatting excitedly about the lesson they just had, you quickly grabbed your bag and Remus’ cloak. You wanted to talk to Severus before dinner and return Remus’ cloak after.
‘All right there, Neville?’ you asked the boy who seemed to dawdle.
‘I really messed up today. Everyone else performed at least one successful counter-spell. Everyone but me,’ he answered while looking at the ground.
‘It was just the first lesson, Neville. You’ll have plenty of time to catch up. No one did it perfectly, except...'
‘Hermione,’ he finished your sentence.
‘Yes. But Hermione is in a league of her own. You know what, Neville? I’m free tonight after dinner. If you want to we can practice some more together.’
‘Really? I could really use the extra time,’ the boy answered a bit shy.
‘Well, that’s settled then. I’ll see you here, in this classroom after dinner.’ Neville thanked you and then left. You did as well, but instead of heading for the Great Hall, you walked towards the dungeons.
The closer you got to Severus’ office, the colder it seemed to get. Fortunately, you still had Remus’ cloak with you and you put it on. The familiar smell of earth and chocolate filled your nostrils when you pulled the cloak around you.
‘Y/N? Are you lost?’
When you looked down the hallway you saw Severus Snape walking towards you, his dark eyes piercing yours.
‘Severus. I was actually on my way to your office, I wanted to ask you something.’
‘I was just on my way to the Great Hall. We could walk together,’ he answered kindly with the tiniest hint of a smile around his lips. It was confusing to you. How could he be so kind to you, yet so cruel to Remus?
‘You had a question, Y/N?’
‘Well, I heard a rumor and I wanted to check with you if it was true.’ It was only half a lie. You knew it was true, you were just interested to see what he had to say for himself. Maybe it was all a misunderstanding. Maybe the students had exaggerated, you knew Severus was only popular with the students from his own house Slytherin. Mainly because he favored them so much over the other students.
‘Ah, I see. And what is this rumor?’ he asked.
‘The third-years say that you taught them about werewolves when you filled in for Remus. They were quite upset about the amount of homework you gave them,’ you explained. The look on his face immediately changed, his smile disappeared and his eyes narrowed.
'Lupin should be glad his classes are taking care of while he is… unwell. I thought it would be good to arm the students with appropriate information concerning his condition. Who knows, they might need it. We want our students to be safe, of course.’
For a moment you weren’t sure how to respond.
‘You can’t be serious. The students are safe,’ you said. When a group of Slytherins appeared in the hallway and looked at you two curiosly, you continued in a whisper.
'I personally think it's pathetic to bully someone. Especially when you're both adults and you should know better. Your potion is supposed to keep him safe. So make sure you do your part and stop this childish behavior.’
Severus looked at you for a moment but didn’t reply. It was a relief when you finally arrived at the Great Hall and both took a seat at the staff table. You felt a bit disappointed when you noticed Remus wasn’t there, but enjoyed the food while listening to Rubeus Hagrid talk about a creature he spotted in the Forbidden Forest.
~~**~~
After dinner, for which Remus never showed, you went back to your classroom. You found Neville Longbottom already waiting for you. You sat down opposite the boy and conjured a teacup out of thin air. With another wave of your wand you made it dance. It was Neville’s task to perform the counter-spell so the jinx would be lifted.
‘Okay, listen Neville. You are almost there. Your incantation is good, but it should be a bit more powerful. Your wand movement is still a bit messy. It’s really important to keep your hand as still as possible. I’m sure you can do it. I saw you repair your remembrall and you did great!’ you said.
He mumbled something under his breath.
‘I’m sorry, Neville, I didn’t quite catch that.’
‘I’m so clumsy,’ the boy repeated a bit louder.
‘Reparo is one of my most used spells, I’m terribly clumsy as well,’ you said to him truthfully. The number of times you had knocked something over or dropped something only to quickly repair it before anyone else saw it was embarrassing. The boy smiled shyly.
‘So, come on. Give it your best shot. You know the wand movement. Now you have to believe you can do it. Show me,’ you cheered the boy on. It was in that moment you saw something move. When you looked up you saw Remus, leaning against the doorpost. Arms crossed and looking at you. He placed his index finger over his lips and then pointed at Neville. The boy was so focused on the task before him that he hadn’t noticed someone else enter.
‘F-f-finite,’ Neville said softly, but his stutter and the unsure wand movement didn’t have the effect he wanted to achieve. The cup kept dancing.
‘That’s okay, Neville. You have to be a bit firmer. Speak loud and clear. Once more,’ you said with a smile. The boy tried. And again. And again. You couldn’t help but look at Remus while the boy was practicing and saw him looking at the boy instead.
‘Come on, Neville. Louder! Pretend you already performed this spell a hundred times. Pretend it’s a spell you’ve known your whole life. You can do it,’ you pressed on when you managed to peel your eyes off the man in your doorway.
‘Finite!’ the boy said and this time his spell had worked. The cup you had jinxed to dance around the table stopped dead in his tracks.
‘Yes! Great work, Neville!’ you yelled enthusiastically. A proud smile appeared on the boy’s face.
‘Indeed. Well done, Neville,’ Remus said with a smile.
‘Professor Lupin. Are you feeling better?’ Neville asked when he had turned around.
‘Luckily I am,' Remus answered.
‘Well, professor Snape gave us a lot of homework for Defence against the Dark Arts and we tried to tell him what subject we were working on but he didn’t listen and…’
‘It’s okay, Neville. I’ll talk to professor Snape. You don’t have to do the homework,’ Remus said calmly. The boy instantly relaxed.
‘That’s great news, professor. I’ll go and tell the otherGryffindors,’ Neville said with a sigh of relief and got up.
‘Thank you so much for helping me, professor Y/L/N.’
‘Of course, Neville. No problem at all, you did great,’ you answered with a smile.
When Neville had left, Remus walked over to your desk and sat down opposite you.
'Your teaching is so effortless. I feel like I need you to teach me how to teach, if that makes sense,’ he said with a warm smile. His presence immediately made you nervous, his compliment made your cheeks burn.
‘I’m just helping Neville with his confidence because that’s the only issue. He’s actually quite skilled at Charms,’ you said airily, hoping he wouldn’t notice your flushed cheeks.
‘You don’t have to put in all the extra effort, but you do. The students really like you,’ he pressed on. You looked into his green eyes for a while, trying to determine if he was being serious or just trying to flatter you.
‘Why would you say that? Who knows what these students think nowadays? They might think I’m very boring or incapable of teaching for all we know,’ you said quickly. Even though you had been teaching for a couple of weeks now, you still felt so new and awkward about it.
‘I might have overheard some students in the corridors, gushing over how fun and smart you are and about how much they are learning,’ he simply said. A sense of pride swelled in your chest.
‘I’m glad to hear that. I tend to be insecure about it, you know,’ you said to him.
‘No need. Just from watching you interact with Neville for ten minutes, assures me you are the right woman for the job,’ he added.
‘I hear you’re not doing so bad yourself. Dean Thomas said during my lesson today that you're the best Defence professor they ever had and a lot of students agreed,’ you told him.
Remus considered this for a moment and then shrugged.
‘Well, being compared to a man possessed by lord Voldemort and Gilderoy Lockhart, I'm not sure it's as big of a compliment as you might think. The third-years have been very unfortunate when it comes to Defence professors,’ he then answered.
‘Oh come on, Remus. You're being way too modest.’
‘Maybe. But I know for a fact that your job at the Ministry was way below your abilities as well, Y/N.’ You raised your eyebrows.
'It is actually really important work, thank you very much. I helped a lot of people during my time at the Ministry,’ you snapped back. Maybe he was right. You knew the job at the Ministry was an easy choice for you, but you had been content. You knew you were good at it and you liked to feel competent. Him confronting you with the fact that you could do better, felt weirdly intimate, like he really knew you.
'Yeah I’m sure you did help a lot of people. I bet you did a really good job and I wonder if they will find someone as capable to replace you, but that’s besides the point. Did it make you happy?’
When you didn’t respond right away, he smirked.
‘I thought so. Teaching comes so naturally for you. You’re doing a great job.’
‘Thank you, Remus. But I’m sure you didn’t come here to compliment my teaching skills,’ you said to change the subject. You knew Remus meant well, but it made you a bit uncomfortable. His expression changed and became more serious.
‘No. You still seem to be in possession of my cloak and since this castle is extremely cold, I was wondering if I could have it back.’ You quickly grabbed the cloak from the back of your chair and handed it back to him.
‘Thank you. Also, Severus told me you came to see him. He was under the impression I asked you to speak with him about his werewolf lesson,’ Remus added. His tone had changed, it was less relaxed now.
‘I did, but I never said you asked me to. I just had to say something. That man is so..’  you started babbling, but Remus interrupted before you could describe what he was exactly.
‘I can fight my own battles, Y/N. I would appreciate it if you would let me handle this by myself.’ You shook your head in disbelief.
‘You would never have said something about this to Severus.’
‘It's not worth it. Let Severus act like this. I’m not letting it get to me. If he really wanted to hurt me, he could easily mess up the Wolfsbane potion and since he hasn’t done that, I have a lot to be grateful for.’
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at him. It was obvious you two weren’t going to agree on this topic. He smiled and put a hand on your arm. Every little touch made your heart race and you looked away, feeling a bit intimidated by gaze.
‘Harry,’ you said, when your eyes landed on a boy with messy hair and bright green eyes who was standing in the door way.
‘I’m Remus, love,’ Remus said with a look of confusion in his eyes. You sat up straight and pulled your arm back.
‘Funny. Harry Potter is standing in the doorway,’ you answered. Remus turned around and saw the boy standing, immediately moving even farther away from you.
‘Ah right. Hello Harry, how are you?’ Remus asked quickly.
‘I’m fine, professor Lupin. Neville told me he saw you here, so I figured you were feeling better. I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about dementors. If I’m not interrupting, of course,’ the boy explained. You saw him looking at the two of you, probably trying to figure out why his Defence and Charms professors were sitting so close to each other in an empty classroom during the evening.
‘Of course, Harry. I was just here to ask professor Y/L/N something. Shall we go to my office? I’ll see you later, Y/N,’ Remus said. You nodded and watched Remus and Harry leave.
When they had left, it suddenly bothered you the boy had seen you and Remus so close to each other. What if he told his friends his Defence and his Charms professor seemed really close? You could only imagine the rumors that would start circling around in the corridors. Just when you finally started to believe you were doing a good job teaching, your personal life was becoming messy.

DHMIS Review: TV Episode 2, Death
As I said in the review for “Jobs”, most of this review is going to be underneath a read more break, simply because of how much I’m going to have to say for this episode. The shorts reviews are already on the long side, and these TV episodes are even longer so the reviews will be even longer by default.
To begin the review proper, I love how the “couch gag” has the Duck actually acknowledge what I guess was a fairly common mistake in the fandom about what kind of bird he was? I say “I guess” because I actually joined the fandom a little later than I think a lot of other people did - I think I discovered the series very shortly after the sixth short aired, for reference - so by the time I was looking at fanworks, everyone was correctly calling him a duck.
Pretty sure this is the fastest that any of the episodes, from the shorts or the TV show, actually gets to the main subject of what the Students are going to be learning about? I mean, it takes maybe 5 seconds after the end of the theme song for Duck to just super casually announce that he’s dead. I feel like the second fastest we get to the lesson is the very first short, and that still at least felt like it took much longer for the song, and by extension, the lesson to start.
I’ve watched this episode at least like four times by now, and I literally only just noticed what the name of the newspaper is. “Opinoin”. Which feels like a joke with two punchlines, since there’s the obvious one of the word “Opinion” being spelled wrong. But also the more subtle joke about how a newspaper, something you’d expect to give you news in a way that’s at least mostly objective....is literally named after opinions, something that is subjective by default.
Gotta love how lightly all three of the guys take the news that Duck has apparently died. They treat it less like him being dead, and more like he just found out he got some really cool present or something, with Red Guy being jealous of him and both Duck and Yellow teasing Red over his jealousy. I guess maybe the lack of understanding makes some sense, considering the whole point of the episode is supposed to be that they learn about death....Even though, if you ask me, they don’t really learn that much about the actual subject.
Anyone else wonder if at least part of why Duck is the one who “dies” in this episode is because he’s the one of the trio who died permanently in the shorts? Or, at least, the one who’s actual death seemed to be confirmed and wasn’t undone by the start of the next episode? I mean, they all went through a lot of horrible experiences, but the Duck is the only one who was ever actually killed during the events of the webseries.
Did anyone else notice that Red Guy actually quietly asks “Is that an egg?” when the heart rolls away to form the Coffin? Just the fact that he not only apparently doesn’t realize what a heart is, but actually wonders if the Yellow Guy (the one that’s usually seen as the “dumb” one) was the one who correctly identified it is kind of funny to me.
The whole scene with Red Guy actually having a conversation with his ID card to find out if he’s dead is honestly really fun. I love how the Card just assumes they’re going to have a little mini-lesson about identity, only for Red Guy to just cut them off and ask if he’s dead. Then you have the little bits of dialogue from the Card as Red Guy shuts them away again, which as of the end of the first season don’t seem to be foreshadowing, but if we get another season....Also, did they include a little puppet of the orange from the first short, with the face and everything? If so, that’s a cute little reference.
“We Gotta Get Things Ready” might be my favorite song, at least from the TV series. My favorite part is where Red and Yellow apparently just forget what their doing and turn it into a cooking show....which I know I’m not the only one who didn’t even question it until they actually acknowledged the mix up? However, at this point I think I’ve listened more to that parody that changes the last word of every verse to “margarine”. Because that is just art.
I’d actually kind of love to see this whole thing explored more at some point, either officially in the show if we get more seasons, or just by the fandom? Because until this point, we never really got a sense of the dynamics between the three main characters besides them all living together and implicitly being friends. But throughout this episode, we explicitly get Duck thinking of Red Guy as his best friend (to the point where he actually gets annoyed at Yellow Guy for offering to speak at the funeral because he wants his “best friend” to do it), while Red is not only shocked that he’s Duck’s “best friend”, but at least at this point almost seems to be dismissive of him in a lot of ways. While Yellow Guy not only wants to speak about Duck during the funeral, but is the most openly upset about him being gone.
I love how between the painting in the first short and his trumpet playing here, it seems to be implied Yellow Guy is actually pretty skilled when it comes to creative things? Especially music, since, as Red Guy points out, his little solo, for as short as it was, was really nice.
I never really realized it until now, but with how the Duck’s bill is...could the Coffin even actually close? I guess it’s just one of those things where how big/deep the Coffin is depends on what needs to be happening at any moment. Not like the Teachers (or the show) have ever strictly followed any sort of real-life logic, after all. I mean, this episodes starts with someone not realizing they died until they read it in the newspaper.
Not sure which makes me more confused - the scene with the Mourners or the scene with Yellow Guy and the Lamp. Maybe the Lamp scene because of a combination of it just being so weird to hear the Lamp talk so...calmly. Plus it kind of just feels like a very short fever dream, with the random thing about the Lamp’s idea of what happens after death, and then him just peacing out and that whole thing never being mentioned again.
I almost forget that when Stain is first “made” he really does come across almost like a baby? Like, he can’t really talk all that well and I feel like the way he can’t really seem to control how his form looks for a bit makes him come across as really young? Of course, the fact that he’s so young and innocent makes what happens to him in the end even worse...
Also, apparently Yellow Guy is...racist? I don’t know how else to describe it, but he seems disgusted by Stain just because he’s claymation, even before learning Red Guy is going to make him Duck’s replacement. But, I do find it interesting that, between him admonishing Yellow Guy for hurting Stain’s feelings and him actually showing concern when Brendon hurts his hand in the last episode, Red Guy actually is showing a decent amount of compassion? Not a lot of emotion, but compassion. Or at least concern.
You gotta honestly feel bad for the Coffin. Guy is not only just trying to do his job (though he doesn’t do it all that well, considering I don’t think he ever actually teaches about death outside of vaguely showing what happens at a funeral), but he got stuck with probably the worst of the three main guys to have to spend what was supposed to be eternity with - the one who is kind of narcissistic, seems to need a lot of attention, and bites for what seems to be no reason.
I don’t know what’s better about the Grolton and Hovris part - the fact that Grolton is so excited about 40 pounds, the fact that the celebration involves boiling water, or the fact that the episode apparently just stopped right there.
....Really could have done without the pee. It’s almost made worse by the fact that it almost comes across like Duck is doing it on purpose, but I think I’d tolerate it more if it was just like...an audio bit and we didn’t see anything?
I find it interesting that Yellow Guy seems to attached to Duck when even in the song, all of his memories involve Duck kind of being a jerk to him? Yelling at him to get off his bed, laughing at him when he needed help with a medical issue, calling him weak...I will say, Yellow Guy has a very nice singing voice in the Memories song.
Kind of ironic that the Teacher who teaches about death is the first one to actually die by the end of their focus episode.
I honestly feel kind of bad for Stain? Guy was basically just born and was so excited to just live and have adventures, and maybe eventually become a banker or something considering one of his core values was finances. But then the two people who he considered family honestly treated him kind of horribly? Yellow Guy resented him from the start because he was still upset about Duck being gone, and while Red Guy started being more welcoming, it didn’t take long before he just decided to make Stain into Duck, instead of just letting the poor guy be himself. And that went horribly right, since when the original Duck comes back, I can only assume that Stain adopted his mannerisms so much that he kills the original either to avoid having to “share” the attention of the others (or the audience), or simply out of a “you or me” mentality where he assumed Duck would have killed him if he didn’t do it first.
This episode gets a 3.5/5, though it honestly would be higher if they just didn’t do the pee joke. Really hated that bit.

Amor Y Abogados
I don’t normally post things to this site because I use it more for reading than anything else, but this is just a chapter from my book on quotev that I wrote a special for because I felt like it, I guess. There is bad spelling and grammar in here that I’m too lazy to fix. Not too much, but you know. Also there is normally spaces between this but I don’t feel like figuring out how to do that here soooo. Whatever. Aether and Lumine are not romantically involved as that’s gross.
Yandere Aether x f.reader x Yandere Lumine (Now as lawyers yay)
Actual Book: https://www.quotev.com/story/14446683/Bitter-Frost-Yandere-Aether-x-reader-x-Yandere-Lumine
TW: Yandereness/Toxic Relationships | Threats (not to (y/n)) | Kidnapping | Gayness? I don’t. I don’t think that needs a tw. Anyways
And without further ado here we go.
(Y/n)'s heels clicked as she strode into the coffee shop. She came there every morning for and order of (flavor) tea and a fresh (pastry). She worked at a very prestigious law firm, called the Fatui. She had been recently placed down in this precinct of the city to help another co-worker out and to make sure everything was running smoothly.
As she walked up to the counter she passed by a woman in business clothes, with a coffee that had seemed to have gone cold, and piles of paperwork.
The woman had a head of soft blonde hair and (y/n) was relatively familiar with her through Childe, the co-worker she had come to oversee. She was pretty sure that her name was Lumine if she remembered correctly.
(Y/n) grabbed the items off the counter that she had ordered and turned back to see a completely full shop. 'It's normally busy, but not this busy.' She thought, sighing to herself. She was about to head out and just eat her spoils in her office, but was stopped by said woman, who waved her hand and gave a small smile.
(Y/n) walked over to the blonde and sat down after she had motioned to the empty seat on the other side of her. She sipped her tea as Lumine gave her a warm smile and pushed her work out of the way in favor of talking with the other woman.
Lumine was a public defender. Apparently had the credits to be much higher and in much better standing, but refused to because of some kind of falling out with her brother.
"Yeah, I passed the bar about 5 years ago, but I only recently started officially practicing law. My brother offered me a place but..." She paused. "We've been kind of estranged ever since that time."
(Y/n) hummed, sipping her drink and taking in its flavor. She stared off into space, also known as Lumine's eyes, leaving the blonde very flustered. They sat there for a minute, one completely unaware of their actions, the other clinging on for dear life.
'Oh my archon! Oh my archon! Oh my archo-' Lumine internally freaked out to herself, heavily flustered by (y/n)'s actions.
Said woman broke eye contact in favor of yawning and rubbing her eye. This took pressure off the other girl sitting there and she released a sigh of relief.
(Y/n) composed herself and cleaned up any remains of her meal. She gracefully slid out of the seat and picked up her trash, set on making it to the trash can.
"I must be off." She told Lumine. "Thank you for the conversation and the seat." She then walked over to the trash can while Lumine was still processing the situation. "Say..." She started. "What was your drink?"
"Uh. Coffee. 2 shots of espresso, steamed milk, a pinch of sugar, and cream... Wait, why?"
"No reason. Just wanted to know for future reference." She gave a small amused smile. "See you around."
"Uh-huh.." Lumine said, a little bit dazed in her words.
It wasn't too long before (y/n) met the other half of the pair. Aether was similar yet different to his sister. He was nice, but he definitely was fed up with having to deal with people's bullshit.
The two met when crossing paths in the same court house. (Y/n) didn't often go to trial but this was one of the days she was summoned in as a replacement for Childe, who at the time, was busy with a family emergency. But then again, archon knows what he considers a "family emergency".
They had bumped into each other after leaving their respective court rooms. (Y/n)'s case had just took a break from mediation and she had gone out to get a breath of fresh air.
From there the two crossed paths in the hallways, both needing to use the elevator to get up to the higher level at the same time. (Y/n) stared at him from the corner of her eye, thinking he looked familiar. It wasn't until she walked out of the building that she realized who he was and his relation to the woman she had met earlier.
According to Lumine, Aether was the rising star of a large firm, called the Abyss Order. (Y/n) was somewhat familiar with the name, her mother, the main managing partner for the Fatui, had given her warning about them and their influence around certain parts of different cities. Their influence wasn't as bad in places like Liyue, but it was worse in others. Apparently they're very big in Mondstadt.
(Y/n) stretched in the afternoon sunlight. The mediation had taken much longer than expected and with how it was going she didn't think they were going to settle any time soon. She checked her watch, there was a little less than thirty minutes before she would have to head back inside for the rest of the torturous meeting.
There was a reason (y/n) preferred the individual work to actually being in court rooms. She actually couldn't remember the last time she had to go up and present a case.
(Y/n) found a bench close to the courthouse and sat down. She took out her phone and began checking her emails. As she began to respond to one from Yanfei, a very respectable lawyer from a different firm, a person came up behind her.
He sat down beside her and politely waited for the girl to finish writing the email. (Y/n) finished and looked up at the man as she put her phone away. He was that blonde boy she has seen earlier in the elevator. He was wearing a carefully ironed suit, though it looked as if it had gone under a little strain from movement. The man himself had blonde hair tied in a braid that fell down his back and was partially thrown over his shoulder. She noted that his hair was slightly darker and pinker than Lumine's, and was slightly less well kept.
"Can I help you?" She asked, giving him a quizzical stare.
"No. Not really." Aether answered back. "It's just that I've started to see you around a lot and I don't recognize you." He gave her a small smile. "Just wanted to have a formal introduction."
"Well then-" She put her hand out. "I'm (Y/n), of the Fatui."
Aether shook her hand. "Aether, of Abyss Order."
(Y/n) and Lumine continued to meet throughout the next couple of weeks. They would share stories, helpful tips, and trade secrets. While all of this had been going on, Aether stood in the background planning his next move.
"(Y/n)!" Lumine exclaimed, being the one to come in later that day. "It's nice to see you again."
"Likewise." She gently pushed an order of coffee towards the blonde. "Here."
Lumine took a sip, relishing in the taste. "It's exactly as I like it." She smiled. "Thanks."
"De nada."
"What?"
"No problem."
Lumine rubbed her neck bashfully and looked away, embarrassed to make eye contact.
"I-uh-"
(Y/n)'s phone dinged and both of the girls turned their attention towards the device. (Y/n) turned on her phone and read the message.
"I'm really sorry." She stood up abruptly. "I have to go. It's urgent."
Lumine just nodded in understanding. "Go ahead. Don't let me stop you."
(Y/n) thanked the girl and quickly gathered her stuff and strode out the door, leaving behind Lumine who held a small smile on her face. That smile however, did not reach her eyes, and soon fell, leaving behind a dejected look.
She sighed and looked towards the small package in her purse. The small gift box itself held two tickets to the movie that (y/n) had mentioned wanting to see, and a bit of her favorite snack as well.
She thumped her head down onto the table in slight moodiness, sad and annoyed that her attempt to get the other woman on a date with her had failed again. Her wallowing was ended by another of her close friends who worked at the coffee shop she often attended.
"Lumine? You good?" The brunette called out. After hearing no response she left her position behind the counter and poked at the woman.
"Go away Amber." She said, turning her head away from the girl.
Amber, in turn, huffed at her and called for backup. Backup soon came in the form of Eula, who was not working there, but was present in the support of Amber.
"Is something wrong?" She asked, walking over to the two.
"Yeah. Lumine failed again."
Lumine groaned in response to this and attempted to wave the two off.
"What would (y/n) say if she saw this?" Eula asked, trying to get a response out of her.
"Yeah! What would she say!"
"She would say, "Wow Lumine look how sad and pathetic you are and I would never want to date you."" She grumbled out.
The two standing women shared a look and the more empathetic of two spoke up.
"No. She'd say "Come on Lumine! Stop wallowing and let's go on that date!"" Amber exclaimed, ribbons perking up to look like bunny ears.
Lumine turned her head to face them and slightly opened one golden eye. "That sounds nothing like her."
"Oh well what do you want me to do then!"
"I just don't get how effortlessly easy you two's relationship is."
Eula took the reins. "It's not." Lumine pulled her head up slightly. "Relationships aren't always easy. They take a lot of work from both sides." Lumine looked down.
"But. The effort put in, if you find the right person. Should be given back, and there are so many other things that you also get from relationships too."
Amber chimed in. "At the end of the day you want a companion right? Someone to talk to and all that jazz." She jabbed Eula playfully. "Just remember that you’re not the only person in this city looking for the same thing. So it's better to make your move sooner rather than later."
Amber glanced at the clock before freaking out. "Shoot!" She exclaimed. "I have to get back to work!" Eula returned to her seat to continue working on her laptop. "Keep what I said in mind okay!"
Lumine nodded, feeling slightly better about the situation. She thought about Amber's words though as she left, and the more she looked around the city, the more she really took them in.
'There are so many people.' She thought. 'And a lot of them are looking for the same thing.' She pressed the crosswalk button. 'I was so worried about my own feelings and confession that I never thought about everyone else.' She began her walk. 'I'll- Have to keep that in mind.'
It had been a couple of days since the girls' last meeting. Lumine had been busy with her cases that just seemed to keep piling up. In that time Aether had swooped in to fill the time slot originally held by Lumine in (y/n)'s day.
It just so happened that (y/n) needed to go into his office building that day to take a look over paperwork and a couple of other things. Of course Aether was aware of this and was absolutely sure that he was prepared to make his move.
He had it all planned out. They'd bump into each other on "accident" and Aether would offer to help and show her around. From there they'd talk, find more common ground, he made sure he knew her interests. That information wasn't really gained legally but he knew the inner workings of the law anyways. He was sure he'd find a loophole if it came to that.
Then he'd invite her to dinner, a welcome to the city kind-of sort. She wouldn't turn it down in fear of being rude and ruining company relationships. They'd talk some more, and by the end of the night he was sure she'd see him as at least an option for a romantic partner. It wasn't foolproof but (y/n) was so smart that he could only manage to do some much without her catching on to the not-so nice parts of the company's business.
Unfortunately for Aether, there was one truly fatal part in his plan he had been too excited to even consider. The fact that she didn't show up.
Now (y/n) definitely meant too, she wasn't planning on missing it. But an issue had come up and she had ended up breaking her right leg. She was now in a cast and took it as an excuse to not have to go in person to things. She instead sent some intern to do it.
So while (y/n) worked from home on a friendly call with Lumine. Aether was stuck leading around a very clumsy intern, who kept breaking things.
1 for Lumine, 0 for Aether.
Aether wasn't the only one getting his plans foiled. Lumine had some issues too.
Lumine had decided. She loved (y/n). She really did! And it wasn't like she was stupid. Just. Really oblivious!
She had taken Amber's advice of just trying to make a move and it was going horribly. For whatever reason, (y/n) was completely oblivious to any and all flirting attempts!
'I mean-' Lumine thought. '-she said she was not raised around many other children or people in general. But how can one person have so little experience or even an idea of how romance works!'
Lumine had even resorted to bad pick up lines to try to get her to take a hint but no dice. Here is a compilation of what happens every time she tries.
P.S. Lumine goes from very nervously saying to basically giving up.
Lumine: A-are you a triangle? B-because you a-acute!'
(Y/n): blinks at her Thank you? You'd be a- hmm. An isosceles. :)
Lumine: ... D,:
Lumine: Is it hot i-in here or is it just you?
(Y/n): Actually I run much below the average human temperature. So no, it is not me.
Lumine: I've seem to have lost my phone number. Can I have yours?
(Y/n): Silently takes her phone and puts in her number. I would suggest trying to find that number. You'll need it for work
Lumine: I hope you know CPR, because you are taking my breath away!
(Y/n): Are you alright?! Do you need to go to a hospital?!
Lumine: Are you a camera? Because every time I look at you, I smile.
(Y/n): ... :)
Lumine: PROGRESS!!
Lumine: I'm really glad I just bought life insurance, because when I saw you, my heart stopped.
(Y/n): Lumine! Again. DO. YOU. NEED. TO. GO. TO. THE. HOSPITAL!!??
Lumine: If you were a vegetable, you would be a cute-cumber!
(Y/n): And you'd be a potato.
Lumine: A sweet potato?  ◕‿‿◕
(Y/n): No just a potato.
Lumine: (ಥ﹏ಥ)
1 for Lumine, 1 for Aether
'Are you an orphanage? Because I want to give you k-. If you were a transformer you’d be Optimus fine?! Is your name Ariel? Because we Mermaid for each other... WHAT ARE THESE?!' Lumine thought as she read through the list of pick up lines her friends had given her.
She eventually just gave up and thought it was a better idea to just say it out right. It didn't go very well.
It was sunset in Lisha Park, the wind was blowing softly as the city started to quiet down. Lumine had asked (y/n) to meet her there at 7:00. She had bought movie tickets for a show that started in about two hours. She had dinner reservations and everything.
And so the scene was set, it was peaceful, and as (y/n) approached the bench Lumine had been sitting on she could feel her heartbeat speed up. She gulped as she sat down and looked nervously at the other woman.
Sighing, Lumine passed the small gift-wrapped box to (y/n) and as she began to open it, started speaking.
"(Y/n). I have something to tell you. Something that I've wanted to say for a long time, but until I've never had the courage I needed." She paused to look at the woman, the curious look in her eyes and how they made her feel, gave her the strength to continue. "(Y/n)." She said seriously. "I love you... A lot. And I'm really hoping you feel the same way."
The two stared into each other's eyes for a while before one of them spoke. "I-."
(Y/n) was at an impasse. She knew she was oblivious, but she wasn't that oblivious. She knew what Lumine was trying to do, and had an inkling of an idea about Aether. There was a serious issue though. She wasn't in love with either of them. They were good friends/co-workers but beyond that she didn't feel that way for either of them.
So when Aether volunteered to help and show her around his office building, she already knew about the dinner plans he had made that night. She wasn't sure how to nicely tell him no gracias. She wasn't trained or prepared for the world of love. Luckily she had ended up breaking her leg, which gave her an excuse to opt out of having to talk to him. This is why she didn't like dealing with people!
Lumine was a whole other story though. She was definitely close with the blonde, but nothing like that. So when Lumine had tried her hand at the dating game, she just had to avoid it. It actually took her an embarrassingly long amount of time and bad pickup lines to realize she was flirting with her. At first she really didn't have a clue. Now she's just purposely avoiding the meanings.
So when Lumine said those fateful words, the only thing (y/n)'s panicking mind could come up with was. "I-. L-ike the letter U too. That's nice I suppose."
Lumine looked destroyed. (Y/n) felt bad, but would rather continue to avoid her problems then apologize or reject the woman.
She didn't give up though. Lumine just shook off what she thought was an accidental rejection and still offered the movie tickets to her. Now (y/n) did really want to see this show so she went along with it anyways. Didn't want to waste Lumine's money.
The two ate at Liyue Pavilion, which (y/n) insisted on paying for, and then went to see the movie. After it was over Lumine offered to drive (y/n) back but she said it was fine and that the apartment complex she was staying in wasn't too far from there.
"You sure you don't want me to drive you?" Lumine asked. "It's no sweat off my back."
"Yes." She responded back. "I'll be fine. I know martial arts."
And with that, Lumine was off, fangirling about her date that almost went to hell. Another person had severely wished that had happened though, and was not very happy about his attempt going south.
As (y/n) walked down the street she could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand up on edge. Someone was watching her.
She quickly turned her head side to side watching for anything. A shadow, a falling rock, anything. But she couldn't seem to find what was making her so on edge. (Y/n) stopped her head turning in favor of swiftly speed-walking down the dark street. She wasn't too worried but still wished to avoid confrontation if she could.
As she turned the corner she was pulled into a dark alleyway. She tried to struggle and kick her way out of there but to no avail, there were too many of them. Suddenly she felt her head ache and could hear ringing in her ears. Right before she went down she heard the people say something.
"Nice going dude. The boss said not to hurt her!"
"Chill. We can just say it came from her trying to esca-"
It went black.
| Time: 2 weeks ago |
Lumine walked into the familiar coffee shop and was greeted by the smell of coffee and the little jingle of the bell. She went up to the register and ordered. She then paid, collected her coffee and a small croissant. Sitting down at the same booth as always, she opened her laptop and got to work.
About thirty minutes later someone else new walked into the coffee shop. Amber noticed this and gave them a warm welcome. They ordered and stood around waiting for their food. Lumine didn't pay attention to the new person and just continued on with her day. That was until.
"A coffee with 2 shots of espresso, steamed milk, and a teaspoon of sugar and cream! For uh, a Mr. Aether!"
And with that Lumine's head shot up, only to be met with Aether's face as he sat down. The two drank their coffee in silence before Lumine broke it with a teasing remark.
"You still order your coffee at the kid's temperature Aether?"
He glared at her and rolled his eyes at her comment. "You're just mad that I can drink mine right away while you have to wait the entire day to drink yours." He jeered.
The two continued their glaring for a little while until Aether broke the silence instead. "I need to talk to you Lumine and I'll make it short and simple. Stay. Away. From (Y/n)."
Lumine was surprised at her brother being so outright but told him off anyways. "And? Why should I? Were much closer than you. If anything you should be the one staying away."
"Lumine." He said, voice bitter. "I won't ask again. I won't do anything to you, you're my sister. But your little friends over there." He glanced at Amber manning the counter. "I'd have no hesitation."
Lumine spoke with poorly concealed rage in her voice. "You wouldn't dare. I have stuff on you that would create a rather poor public image of you and your company." She spat out.
"Sorry to bother you." A voice spoke out. The twins' atmosphere completely changed to one that was warm and friendly.
"Yes?" They said in sync.
"I was just wondering if you were done with that plate. So I could take it back."
"Oh." Lumine said. "Actually, is it possible to bother you for a chocolate croissant? Or do you need me to go up to the counter?"
"Oh no. I can do the transaction here if you want. Would you like me to do that?"
"Uh. Yes please! Thank you."
She hummed and walked away with the plate as the twins turned back to each other.
"Wow. Way to go at being an inconvenience." He poked, smirking at her.
"Oh come on. Look at that line. I wasn't going to go stand in it for another 30 minutes or something. Besides, it's supposed to be the express line, for like small orders. People just don't read signs."
The two snickered at that before the atmosphere went dark again.
"You wouldn't really do that to your brother would you?" He mocked. "Because that would really break my heart, you know."
"Then stay out of my way." Lumine glowered. Huffing slightly.
"How about you stay out of mine." Aether fumed. "Otherwise I have the resources to follow thro-"
"I'm back!" She said, startling the twins. "Oh I'm sorry did I interrupt something? Stupid stupid stupid." She lightly smacked her forehead along with her words.
"No, it's fine." Aether said, smiling at her.
"Oh alright. Here you go!" She returned the smile and placed down the croissant. Lumine dug some cash out of her purse and handed it to the lady.
"You can keep the change."
"Thank you! Have a good day!"
"You too."
Lumine turned back to face Aether but he was already gone. She grumbled and returned to her work.
When (y/n) awoke it was in a new location. She was on what seemed to be a bed but had a hard time focusing on her surroundings because of the ringing in her ears. She sat up and massaged her head, finding a sore spot in the back.
Suddenly the door across from the bed opened, artificial light spilling into the room. (Y/n) squinted and cringed slightly from the sudden brightness and watched with blurry eyes as a shadow walked into the room. A shadow with a braid.
The figure sat on the bed next to where (y/n) lay and rubbed the back of her head where the sore spot was. As (y/n)'s vision finally cleared she could make out who it was. It was Aether.
"A-Aether?" She croaked out, still dizzy from the injury. "W-what. What am I doing here?" She shook her head in an attempt to clear it, but only made the pain worse. She grimaced and Aether went to grab something.
"Here." He gave her a small cup filled with liquid. "It'll help with the pain."
(Y/n) drank it and looked around, the lamp Aether had turned on illuminating the dark room. There wasn't much in there. Just a bed, two bedside tables, a lamp, and a desk and chair. The other side of the room had a single large dresser. That was it.
"Aether." She called for the attention of the blonde. "What is going on?" She asked, more serious in tone.
"Nothing you need to worry about dear."
'Dear? When did we get on those terms? What is going on?' She thought, mind racing. She looked around for a way out but the only plausible way was through the door. There was no window in the room and she couldn't see what was through the other door but she guessed it was a bathroom.
"I know this is going to be a bit of an adjustment." He said, locking away something in one of the desk drawers . "But I know we'll make it through. We will be moving in a bit, so don't worry, this is just temporary." He said reassuringly and smiled.
By now (y/n) had a pretty good idea of what was going on, but was still confused about why, so she asked.
"Aether." He came back over and sat on the bed again.
"Yes." He said lovingly.
(Y/n) cringed on the inside when he said that. "Why am I here? Is it political? Is it money? Is it case related? Do you not like me hanging out with your sister?" She was about to continue when Aether put his index finger to her lips and answered.
"Yes and no. It's not political and it has nothing to do with money or a case. I do mind you hanging around my sister but for a reason much different then you probably think." He smiled. "The reason your here is because I love you."
(Y/n) clenched up at his words. This was not what she was expecting.
"And don't you worry about a thing. I'll take care of it all." he removed his hand in favor of rubbing (y/n)'s head with adoration. As he looked at her with lovesick eyes, she realized that she had to get out of there and out of there quickly. Aether lovingly sighed as he continued, before being interrupted by someone bursting into the room.
Aether glared at the man as he spoke. "Sir! Someone is here to see you!"
"Tell them I'm busy." He rolled his eyes as he spoke.
"Sir. It's. It's your sister."
Aether stooped his motions and sighed. Standing up, he walked out towards the door but before he closed it, he turned back and said. "I'll be back soon, so don't try anything funny." He then gave her another adoring smile and then closed the door. (Y/n) could hear multiple locks and latches as they were closed.
As soon as she was sure that he was gone, (y/n) sprung up from where she was sitting and began scouring the room for an exit. There were no windows, in either the main room or the room that she was right about being a bathroom. She definitely couldn't brute her way out of here, and her leg wasn't fully healed.
She was about to make another round before seeing something reflect in the bathroom mirror. It was a vent. It was under the bed. But it was far too small for any human to fit it. Her hope was quickly dashed, but then she remembered something. Aether had locked something in the desk drawer, so maybe there might be something else in there that could help her.
(Y/n) was about to attempt to pry it open when she heard two loud voices arguing as they came towards the room she was in. The closer they got, the easier it was for (y/n) to recognize them. It was Aether and Lumine.
Now (y/n) could have called out for Lumine, but honestly the twins were so alike that she didn't want to take any chances. So as the two approached closer and closer towards the door that led to her freedom, she lay in wait.
Lumine rushed forward as Aether tried to stop her. As they fought, Lumine would rush over, undo a lock or two and then get pulled back into the struggling match.
As soon as the last lock was unlocked (y/n) knew and she began to creep forward towards the door. When she heard them coming towards it again, she threw open the door so the two tumbled inside.
She raced out the door and closed it, locking every latch, lock, and deadbolt behind her. Then she ran.

Why the hell? am I the coach? part 1
Tumblr media
I thought I had screwed up when I mistakenly stole Coach's underwear instead of Tyler the captain of my school's football team to end my spell, but how the hell was I to know that Coach Lincon he likes to wear this kind of clothes!
I sneaked into the locker room after soccer practice, I was locked in the janitor's closet in silence until I didn't hear a single footstep or someone say "Bro" for 5 minutes, the locker room still stank of everyone's sweat players when I started my search for the missing ingredient so I could steal Tyler's body.
I still don't know exactly why Coach Lincon's underwear was in Tyler's locker, maybe a mistake? I spied on him for weeks and was sure that was his locker. I had even been watching him for the combination of him. As soon as I put my hands on the smelly and still wet Jockstrap I immersed myself in it, it smelled so good that at that moment I had an erection in my pants, I was tempted to stay there and jerk off, but there was no time to lose, So I put my underwear in a plastic bag and got out of there as fast as my short, fat legs would allow.
I went to my house and locked myself in my room and began to do the steps to perform the spell, I formed a small circle of flowers, and I put all the ingredients of the spell there including the still damp underwear, I was very excited, my heart I was about to leave my chest when I recited those words that I had learned by heart, what is the first thing I would do in Tyler's body? How would I react when he woke up in my obese body? all those ideas did nothing more than make my cock stiffen as the last step of the spell ended.
I closed my eyes and counted down -5 ... 4 ... 3...2 ... 1- My voice grew thicker as it reached number 1 and when I opened my eyes I was already in a different place.
Clearly I was in the coach's office but what was Tyler doing at this time even in school? I looked down and the first thing I saw were my big, callused and hairy hands - are these Tyler's hands? - my voice It was much thicker than before but I was sure that Tyler's voice did not sound like that, I stood up and explored my new body more, as soon as I lifted my shirt I knew something was wrong, I discovered some hairy but well worked abs -No! - shouted and took the first photo that was within my reach and looked at my reflection in the photo glass.
Tumblr media
I could immediately recognize my new face was the mature face of Coach Lincon, now -But what the fuck? - I ran my hands through a new rough beard -Why the hell? am I the coach? The spell is supposed to be fail-safe if done correctly-
So now I'm trapped in the coach's body until I know what went wrong, it's not so bad the coach is quite attractive, I have a huge mature cock and now I can spy as much as I can on the guys in the locker room.
Now I just have to worry about the real Coach Lincon must be pretty screwed up in my house right now, well I guess I have some time to have fun alone as he comes looking for his body.

Chapter Five - I will love again
You were up early on the weekend.
Since you were going to travel to New Jersey for Wanda's father's wedding anniversary, you didn't want to keep her waiting.
When you arrived at Wanda's house, she was already on her feet, running back and forth through the house, trying to find Tommy's lost toy, who kept crying that he wouldn't travel without it.
"Make yourself at home, I just need to find that bear." She said to you as she opened the door. You placed your only luggage on the floor as you looked around. Billy was watching television, and Tommy was sitting on the kitchen counter, crying.
You walked over to him.
"Hey, Tommy, why are you crying?" You asked stopping beside him, keeping your voice calm so as not to make him more nervous.
"I want my teddy bear!" He cried out between tears.
"Mommy will find it for you." You reply. "What is the name of your teddy bear?"
"Star Lord." Sniffles the boy. Your distraction is working, because he stops crying to talk.
"Wow, that's an incredible name!" You say. "How did you get the Star Lord?"
Tommy sniffles again, wiping his tears with his forearm.
"I got it for my birthday." He counters. "Billy got a skateboard, but Star Lord is cooler."
"Is that so?" You retort with interest in your voice, realizing that Tommy was barefoot and his socks were on the countertop, you show him that you are interested in hearing him talk as you help him finish getting dressed for the trip.
"Yes, it came in a huge, red box." Tommy counted with a smile as he gestured at the size of the object. "And he sleeps with me every night, so I need him to go to Grandpa's house."
"Oh, yes, of course you do." You agree with a smile as you tie the boy's shoelaces. "Do you remember the last place you played with Star Lord?"
Tommy sniffles thoughtfully.
"I don't know." He replies tearfully, you rush to ask about his favorite memory with the bear to avoid him to cry again, and it works.
When you finish tying the child's shoes, you pick him up on your lap as he tells you about the day he took Star Lord swimming, and then you sit him down in the living room next to his brother, and he is distracted enough by the cartoon on the TV to forget about the teddy bear.
Wanda joins you in the living room a minute later, looking nervous and with her hands empty.
"Hey, I think I have an idea." You tell her as you mentally review the things Tommy said. "Finish getting them to the car, I'll go find the bear."
You found it.
Ten minutes after you left the room, inside the pool.
Wanda couldn't hold back her laughter when you arrived in front of the car with your wet clothes up to pool height.
"Your idea was to get into the pool instead of using the cleaner to reach the bear?" She teased as soon as you handed her the toy. You laughed awkwardly, watching her give the bear to Tommy and seeing the boy celebrate excitedly. "You're not getting in my car wet like that."
You laugh, and then you have an idea. Approaching Wanda with open arms, you see her raise her finger in warning, but you are already hugging her with wet clothes, making her laugh.
The joke only ends because Pietro is parking the car in front of the house next, looking at you both curiously.
"Should I let dad know we're going to be late?" He teases putting his sunglasses up. You let go of Wanda as both of your giggles slowly stop, the two of you looking like children who have been caught up to mischief. "Come on girls, we have a road ahead of us."
"Shut up Pietro." Wanda grumbled humorously, starting to push you into the house by the shoulders. "Watch the boys while we get changed."
"Yes, ma'am." He retorted wryly as he took off his seat belt and got out of the car. You let Wanda push you inside.
Upstairs, you had smiles on your faces as she searched for clothes that would fit you.
"Are you sure it isn't better if I grab something I brought in my suitcase?" You ask distractedly as Wanda rummages through the closets.
"I don't want you to be one change of clothes short, I don't know what we'll end up doing over there." Wanda retorted. "And don't worry about it."
Wanda eventually handed you a set of very soft sweatshirts and underwear. You smiled in appreciation, looking away from the clothes in your hand to the woman in front of you.
As you turned toward the bathroom, Wanda spoke.
"You can stay."
Swallowing dryly, and ignoring the unregulated beating of your heart you turned to her again, one eyebrow raised not sure you had understood correctly.
Wanda sighed heavily, as if she was gathering the courage to say it again. But her gaze said it all. She was inviting you to change in front of her.
You felt your face heat up, but you gulped dryly, forcing yourself to reason correctly.
"I... I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not?" Wanda retorted in defiance, and you let out a breathless laugh. She seemed to misunderstand your reaction, because her expression immediately fell. "Oh, you don't want to. Damn it, I..."
"What?" you interrupted quickly. "No, Wanda. I want to." You confess half breathlessly. "I really do."
"Oh."
You shift your weight between your feet, feeling your stomach turn with the way Wanda looks at you.
"But not like this." You say, swallowing dryly to confess correctly. You approach Wanda slowly as you speak. "Not in a hurry." Wanda breathes heavily, leaning back against the cabinet. You stop walking just inches from her body. "I want to be with you, with enough time to kiss every inch of your skin.” You confess again her lips. “Touch every spot that will make you lose control and scream my name."
"Fuck." Wanda gasped against your mouth, almost near enough to touch while closing her eyes.
Ignoring the tightening sensation at the tip of your stomach, you fought your baser instincts and pulled away, sighing.
"Let's hurry before your brother comes to get us."
You smiled at Wanda, ignoring the urge to kiss her. She just nodded, trying to normalize her breathing. You took advantage of her lack of reaction to turn around and walk towards the bathroom. You had better get out of there soon, because you feel that you couldn't resist that woman again.
//-//
Tommy and Billy were singing in the back seat as you drove to New Jersey. You laughed at the scene, thinking they were adorable.
Your gaze was watchful on the road, following Pietro's car to his father's house.
When Wanda began to murmur the song, you looked at her for a moment. Absolutely stunning, with her red hair flying in the wind, the smile in the corner on her lips. The sunlight making her eyes sparkle.
Turning your attention forward because Wanda caught you looking, you bit back a smile, feeling your heart race a little. But neither of you commented, and you didn't care that Wanda was looking at you now.
//-//
When you arrived, you whistled impressed at Erik's residence. It was practically a mansion, but really it was just a very well built summer house. The neighborhood was very nice too. Wanda smiled playfully at you when she noticed your reaction.
The boys ran out of the car, excited to hug their grandfather who was already waiting for them at the door. They also hugged Charles, who was a short, balding man, very friendly.
"Grandpa, can we go ride the horses?" Tommy asked excitedly, and the man laughed lightly.
"Go wash your hands and get something to eat first okay, boy?" Erik said to the boy, ruffling his hair.
The child agreed, entering the house along with his brother and his cousin, who had gotten out of the cars shortly after.
You were unpacking the bags from the car after parking and felt your breath catch when Wanda picked up one of the bags and caressed your hand with her fingers as you handed it to her. She smiled innocently, passing you to walk toward the door, and you cleared your throat before closing the trunk and following her.
"You must be Y/N." Erik greeted you as soon as you came to the door. "It's very nice to finally meet you."
"It's nice to meet you too, Erik." You replied with a smile. "And you too, Charles."
The man smiled, giving you room to pass him and enter the house. Wanda was standing in the living room next to Pietro and Monica, who had their suitcases on the floor.
"Papa, which rooms are empty?" She asked the man who had entered behind you.
"You can occupy any one upstairs." Erik warned closing the door as he and Charles entered.
You accompanied the group upstairs. Wanda placed the boys' backpacks in one of the bunk rooms, since the children always slept together.
"You can have the room down the hall." She said, showing you the direction. "Next to mine."
She whispered the last part like a secret. You wanted to ignore how your stomach churned at the suggestion. Pietro and Monica passed you both, the man gave you a playful look, but made no comment. They would be in the room across from yours and next to the children's.
You guessed that the other door at the other end of the hall belonged to Erik and Charles
After putting your suitcase on the bed, you left the room. Pietro opened the door at the same moment.
"Come on, Y/N, I'm going to give you a full tour of the Maximoff residence." He announced excitedly and you giggled, following him around the house.
//-//
The Maximoff residence was much larger than you thought it was. There were even stables and a large wooded area that was part of the place, but Pietro didn't take you there, he just pointed you in the direction. You eventually discovered that the place used to be a simple farm, inherited from Pietro and Wanda's paternal grandparents, and when Erik married Charles, they renovated the place with money from the Xavier family, who were British and had a fortune built up in the vineyard area.
Pietro led you back to the kitchen when he finished showing you the property, patting you on the shoulder as he sat down on the kitchen counter, grabbing the jar of candy on the counter.
"The guests will be here soon, Pietro, get down from there." Warned Erik noticing his son's position. He was in the kitchen too, finishing sorting out some of the appetizers. During the tour, you noticed the decorations set up in the gardens, some tables and chairs and party decorations.
"Yes, papa." Grumbled Pietro as he obeyed. He reached over to accept the tray of food his father handed him.
"Take that outside please." Erik asked and you moved to get out of the way of Pietro, who gave you a wry smile as he passed, making you laugh slightly.
"Can I help too?" You asked noticing that there were still things to be carried.
"Thank you, dear, you are very kind." Erik said as he handed you one of the trays. You nodded and then turned around.
The garden was really nicely decorated, you noticed now that you were up close, placing your tray on one of the tables. There was also a small stage, which you imagined was meant for Erik and Charles to repeat their wedding vows. You smiled, remembering how your marriage to Natasha had gone. It was just nostalgic to think of her now, and it didn't make you unhappy anymore.
"I think you're all set now." Erik said behind you, arriving with a tray and placing it on the table next to yours. Pietro who had left earlier, was stealing one of the candies and received a disapproving look from his father. "Really, boy?"
Pietro laughed, raising his hands in surrender.
"I'm hungry, papa." He playfully retorted and you laughed at the interaction.
"Go help the ladies with the kids." Erik commands with a grimace, and Pietro laughs as he walks away. When he leaves, you feel slightly anxious about being alone with Wanda's father, but his posture is friendly. "I haven't had a chance to talk to you properly, Y/N. Would you like to take a walk with me before the party?"
You ignore the nervous feeling in your stomach when you agree. And Erik takes one last look at the decorations before leading the way.
//-//
A few minutes of walking later, where Erik asked you several questions about your life, your job, your age, who you lived with, that sort of thing, you reached a plantation area. You imagined it to be the vineyards of the property.
You could see the manor house in the distance, and the backyards, and a lake many meters away. The landscape was breathtaking.
"It's beautiful here." You comment beside him.
"Yes." Erik agrees with a smile, also looking at the scenery as you do. "I enjoyed your conversation, you are as lovely as Wanda usually tells us."
The comment makes your cheeks warm, the image of Wanda talking about you makes your heart soar. Erik seems to appreciate the way you react to it, smiling gently as he adds, "It's nice to know she's found someone nice to love."
You swallow dryly, glancing quickly at the man next to you, but he has his gaze on the landscape. You feel a warmth in your chest, mixed with embarrassment and happiness.
"Thank you, Erik." You say clumsily.
"For what?"
"For accepting me here I guess." You retort with a smile. "For having me into your home. And well, for saying those things about me and Wanda." You say and he makes an understanding noise through his mouth. You are silent for a moment, until he speaks again.
"You know, when Magda, their mother, passed away, I thought I would never love anyone again.." Erik tells nostalgically. He keeps looking at the field in front of you, but you stare at him, attentive to his words. "But then I met Charles. And well, it did. It's different from what it was before. And I wouldn't change it for anything."
You nodded in understanding, letting the words echo in your head. You also think about how Agatha said you could move on. There was no problem in loving again, as intensely as before.
"I figured I'd be uncomfortable talking about someone marrying my daughter, but here we are." Erik comments humorously a moment later, making you chuckle awkwardly. "I guess it must be the way you look at her. You look like a lovesick puppy. "
You scratch your neck awkwardly, looking at the scenery, making Erik laugh at your blurriness.
"Don't get upset, I'm just teasing you." He comments with a smile, patting you on the back. You laugh clumsily.
"Do you guys have a garden around here?" You ask trying to change the subject, just as you notice the glass structures in the distance, capped by the vineyard. You figured if you turned around you would find your way to them.
"Oh, yes." Erik confirms. "Charles loves gardening. We have two greenhouses over that way. Would you like to see them?"
"Yes." You confirm with a smile. "But it can be after the party."
"Oh yes, I should get back and welcome the guests." Erik agrees as he checks his watch. You start walking back to the area of the house next.
//-//
You meet a lot of people at the party. It's a little overwhelming, because you really didn't expect Erik to invite so many people, and although you're glad that they had so many friends, your anxiety has increased a little. You were smiling politely at two ladies who said they were Charles' college friends while trying to pay attention to the story they were telling when Pietro rescued you.
"I need to steal my sister-in-law for a second ladies." He said and you widened your eyes. He only realized the mistake of his words when he noticed the looks on the women's faces in front of him. " Shit, I don’t mean like she got married to Wanda... I..."
You snuck out from behind Pietro when the ladies started attacking him with questions about the wedding, and when the ceremony had taken place and why the family wasn't called. You took the opportunity to escape when Pietro was convincing the ladies that you were not Wanda's wife, and that there was no secret wedding.
Walking over to one of the far tables, you frown in disbelief as you watch Luna run under the food table, clearly looking for a place to hide from her cousin, who is looking around a few feet away.
You crouch down, pulling the towel up to speak to the child.
"Luna, honey, maybe that's not the best place to play." You tell her with a smile. She looks around.
"Sorry, Aunt Y/N." She asks. "I'm hiding from Billy."
"Oh, is that so?" You ask extending your hand to her. She accepts, and you help her stand, taking care that she doesn't hit her head on the table. "Do you remember the path we took when we first got here? Try to hide behind that tall statue, I'm sure Billy won't find you."
"Wow, that's right, Auntie. Thank you." She mumbles, leaving with her head down next, watching for any sign of her cousin. You smiled, knowing that everyone at the party would get a glimpse of the children playing if she stood where you spoke.
You noticed that the two women who were talking to Pietro looked at you, and not wanting to be dragged back into that conversation, you made your way back to the house.
Bumping into Wanda on the way, you giggled.
"There you are." You remark.
"Where were you?" Wanda retorts with a mixture of curiosity and humor, noticing your "escape mode" posture.
"Well, apparently all of your father's friends like to meet everyone, so I've spent the last thirty minutes being introduced to everyone at the party."
Wanda gave a pout of pity.
"Sorry, dear." She says and you smile awkwardly, feeling your cheeks flush. "I'm looking for the boys, they need to change for the suits."
"I saw Billy in the gardens." You tell her as you gesture briefly in the direction. "I'll go find Tommy for you."
Wanda smiles, biting her lips. You nod but when you make mention of moving away, she holds your forearm and moves forward, depositing a kiss on your cheek.
"Thank you, sweetheart." She whispered, smiling mischievously at you before she turned away and left the kitchen. You bit your lip, feeling your heart racing. You didn't understand why Wanda was teasing you, but you weren't complaining.

Wanda laughed affectionately when Billy launched himself onto her lap as soon as she found him in the backyard.
"Luna, dear, your mother is calling you too." Warned the red-haired woman to her niece who nodded turning toward the direction her aunt pointed.
"Mommy can I play after I change my clothes?" Asked the boy as the woman carried him back to the house.
"Of course honey, but you have to be careful, okay? You can't get your suit dirty."
Just before she reached the entrance, someone called her name, causing Wanda to turn her head curiously.
"Sweetie, I need to ask you something." It was Ruth Eisenhardt, a nasty distant cousin of Wanda's known for gossiping, and lots of it, about all her relatives. "I just heard from Aunt Susan that you are dating that pretty girl you brought over."
Wanda felt her face heat up, but kept her expression impassive. Before she could add anything else, the woman was speaking again.
"Of course we are all happy for you, but when I went to share the good news with Uncle Jeff, he said that Pietro had already denied this affair. Now I'm left not knowing if you're really going out with that beefcake."
Wanda let out an awkward giggle, frowning slightly at the way her cousin spoke.
"We're not exactly together, cousin." The redhead replied. "But that's not really your business."
Ruth grimaced in surprise, but then her expression changed to one of malice.
"You know, I'm just confirming it. Because after all, we don't have pretty things like that lying around in New Jersey."
Wanda clenched her jaw. Ruth was exactly the kind of girl who had a mania for taking what didn't belong to her.
"Cousin, don't flirt with her." Wanda said. "I'll only warn you this once."
Ruth giggled, surprised at the reaction. But Wanda didn't continue the subject, turning and continuing toward the entrance of the house.
"Mom what's flirt?" Billy asked next, drawing Wanda's attention away from her own not-so-pleasant thoughts about someone taking what was hers.
"It's a way adults talk, honey." Wanda explained, biting her lips thoughtfully briefly. "When they want to be more than friends."
"Like best friends?"
Wanda laughs briefly, denying it.
"No, Billy. Like lovers."
Billy makes a noise of agreement. "Why can't Aunt Ruth flirt with Aunt Y/N?"
Wanda sighs lightly, forcing a friendly expression so as not to confuse her son.
"She can."
"But you told her..."
"I know." Wanda interrupts with red cheeks. She takes a deep breath, smiling at her son. "Can I ask you something sweetie?" Billy nods in agreement. "If mommy started dating someone, would you be upset?"
Billy frowns, denying it.
"Mommy, you want to date Aunt Y/N don't you?"
Wanda's eyes widen in surprise.
"Where did that one come from?" she asked.
"You didn't like it when Aunt Ruth flirted with Daddy either, I remember Aunt Monica's birthday." He tells, and Wanda sighs slightly, remembering when she caught Ruth complimenting her husband as she ran her hands through her hair, and Wanda might have gotten a little carried away by accidentally flipping a wine glass in her cousin's lap. On the way home, when the twins asked, she said that she was upset with the way Ruth spoke to their father, and now Billy was able to understand everything. "And now you don't want Aunt Ruth to talk to Aunt Y/N like that." He concluded as if it was obvious. Wanda smiled as she went upstairs, careful not to trip on the steps with Billy on her lap. "Mommy, if you date Aunt Y/N will she move in with us?"
"I don't know dear." Wanda replied with a shy smile.
"If she lives with us, will you let her sleep in my room?"
Wanda laughed, looking at Billy curiously.
"And why is that?"
"Because she knows how to play dragon. And also tell fairy tales." He says counting on his fingers. "And she also helps Tommy with his headache, so she can sleep on our rug and when he wakes up at night, she helps him."
Wanda smiles fondly, shaking her head slightly.
"Those are very good reasons indeed." She says. "But I think Y/N would like to sleep in a bed, no? The floor is uncomfortable."
Billy looks thoughtful and Wanda laughs briefly as she sets him down on the floor, already inside his room. She helps him out of his clothes to put on his party suit that is already on the bed.
"I can sleep in your bed mommy, and then Aunt Y/N sleeps in mine next to Tommy so he won't be alone."
Wanda laughs again, denying with her head. She bends down to button her son's shirt.
"Tell you what. Y/N sleeps in my bed, and if Tommy feels bad, she goes up to his room, how's that sound?"

"I think it sounds amazing." You spoke as you entered the room, a mischievous smile on your lips. Wanda startled slightly, surprised that you arrived at that moment, but she smiled shyly as she looked at you before turning her attention back to her son.
"Yay, mommy!" Billy spoke excitedly. Wanda sat him down on the bed again, helping him put on his shoes. You guided Tommy gently by the shoulders to the bed, and as soon as he had a look at the suit he began to undress.
"I didn't know you were going to live with us, Aunt Y/N." Tommy comments as he removes his sneakers.
"I didn't know either." You retort, biting back a smile at the sight of Wanda's reddening cheeks. "I guess your mother forgot to invite me."
Wanda mumbles at you to shut up, making you smile.
"Mommy, you have to let Aunt Y/N know that she is going to live with us now." Billy said making you cross your arms, and turn to Wanda, joining in on the joke.
"Yes, Wanda! You need to let me know about these things." You say with false seriousness, and Wanda rolls her eyes in amusement, finishing putting on Billy's shoes and getting up to face you.
"Y/n, honey, you're going to move in with me when we get back home, okay?" Wanda asks in the same tone. You bite back a smile, ignoring how your heartbeat has quickened. You can't help but look at Wanda adoringly however, and her expression goes from playful to shy in microseconds.
"Okay, Wands. I'll love living with you." You say to her next, sounding slightly affected. The twins let out an exclamation of excitement, and break the bubble you are in. You clear your throat slightly as you turn your attention back to them, looking away from Wanda.
"Wow, you guys look great." You comment as you see the boys properly dressed next. The suits are very nice indeed.
"You can go back to the party, but be careful not to get your suits dirty. No playing in the dirt!" Wanda warns the boys, who are already running excitedly outside.
"Okay, I'll go get ready too." You say next, thinking to check your cell phone as well, since you haven't turned it on since you left New York. "See you at the party?"
Wanda nods in agreement and you turn to leave.
At the door she stops you, pulling you by the forearm lightly and raising her hand to your neck, then bringing your lips together.
You both sigh and you feel your whole body tense up and heat up all at once. Wanda pulls away in the next moment, breathing as out of rhythm as you do.
You want to ask her why she did this now, but you think the question can wait until later, because she brings your lips together again, in a kiss far less innocent than before. Wanda closes the door with one hand, and with the other she pushes you against the wood.
You gasp, letting your tongue run across her lip, and she gives you passage.
Her taste intoxicates your senses quickly, your hands moving up to her waist as hers move to your hair, deepening the kiss. You both gasp for air against each other's mouths, unable to separate.
Panting, you feel your head spin as Wanda moves her tongue against yours, slow and sensual, and you can't help but squeeze her waist tightly, enjoying the feeling of her sighing against your lips.
You switch positions next moment, pressing Wanda against the wood of the door, your knee coming up between her legs.
"Oh." Wanda moans breathlessly breaking the kiss. You move your kisses down her jaw to her neck, sucking on the skin and releasing just before marking. Your fingers play with the hem of her blouse, and Wanda brings your head up, kissing you again.
You press your body against her, wanting her to be touching you everywhere. The sensation makes you breathless, and hot in all the right places, causing you to moan.
You think you could kiss Wanda forever if she'd let you. The feeling of having her in your mouth is the best you have ever felt.
There are noises of footsteps coming from the stairs, and you both sigh when you hear them. It's Monica coming up with Luna, who is chatting animatedly. It's just what you need to snap back to reality, and slow down the kiss.
You keep your foreheads together, and your hands around Wanda until the sound becomes distant, signaling that Monica has entered their bedroom with Luna.
You let out a giggle, and Wanda follows you. You look just like two teenage girls making out in secret. When you stop laughing, you kiss her again. Calmer this time. Before you let go, she bites your lip, tugging lightly, and making you gasp before letting go.
"Come on, go change." She commands, pushing you lightly. You smile because she keeps her grip against your blouse as she tells you to leave.
"It is you who are keeping me here, Maximoff." You tease with a smile. Wanda smiles too, and steals a kiss from you before letting go. You stumble backwards out of the room, grinning like an idiot, but you don't care, because Wanda looks at you just the same.
//-//
Wanda looked stunning in her party dress. You wanted to kiss her again, but you knew that if you did you would smear her lipstick, and she would have a lot of inconvenient questions ahead of her. So you just smiled, and breathlessly confessed how beautiful she looked, enjoying her flushed cheeks.
By the time you joined the party, the guests were arranging themselves at the correct places, and you joined a conversation circle with Wanda at your side, greeting a few more people.
As the sun set, Erik and Charles signaled that the ceremony was about to begin.
//-//
It was all very beautiful.
Maybe you cried between one confession and another, but everyone was emotional, so no one really cared.
Your cell phone had lots of pictures on it when you came back to the house, after saying goodbye to the guests who left when the party was over. You were holding Tommy by the hand, while Billy went with his mother, and the boys looked very tired.
"Let's go to bed, okay?" Wanda warned the kids as they followed her upstairs.
Erik wanted to open a bottle of wine, so after the kids were in bed, all the adults were outside on the balcony. Wanda sat very close to you, and you resisted the urge to put your arm around her.
"I guess I'll never get used to parties." Erik then comments, smiling nostalgically, making the group smile.
"I hope you're looking forward to the twenty-year anniversary one, papa." Pietro humorously retorts, and Erik laughs, looking at his husband tenderly.
"I look forward to it."
You smiled at the passionate way the couple looked at each other. You wondered what it must be like to stay married for so long.
"I know we are all tired, but I had something to tell you." Erik then says, exchanging a look with Charles before continuing. "It's about the farm."
"What about the farm?" Pietro asked curiously.
"It 's yours."
Pietro frowns in confusion, looking at Wanda, who has the same look on her face.
"Papa, what?" Wanda asks, and Erik lets out a short laugh.
"You know I've always wanted to remodel this place, ever since you were kids." He recounts. "And Charles and I finally did it. But now we're old. And you two have your whole lives ahead of you, and well, you are our family. So Charles and I agreed that the house should belong to you both."
Wanda and Pietro exchange incredulous laughter.
"Papa, what? Are you sure?" Wanda asks looking from her brother to her father and stepfather. The older men just smile and the next moment they are hugging their children. You and Monica exchange looks of amusement.
"So, does this mean we're moving?" Monica comments once everyone is seated, and elicits a giggle from the group.
"Let's save all this serious talk for tomorrow, shall we?" Erik asks with a smile. "Today, let's just enjoy the stars."
"Someone is feeling romantic." Charles jokes making the group laugh.
"Papa, tell us some of your stories." Pietro asked with a smile, and Erik sighed, taking on a thoughtful expression.
"Um, let's see." He begins. "Have I ever told you about what happened in Budapest...?"
//-//
It was quite late when you and Wanda were finally alone, after Charles and Erik came in, you stayed talking to Pietro and Monica for a few more minutes, until they walked in as well.
You smiled at Wanda as she leaned back in her armchair to face you cross-legged, and you mimicked her position.
"Hey." She called out to you with a smile.
"Hey."
"Did you enjoy the party?"
"Yes." You assured her tenderly. "It was pretty good actually."
Wanda nodded slightly, her gaze falling momentarily to your lips.
"Can I ask you something?"
"You can ask me anything you want, Wanda." You retort, making her smile.
The redhead looks intently at you.
"Did you mean it?" She asks and you blink in confusion. "About moving in with me."
You feel your cheeks heat up, but you smile.
"You're not even going to ask me out first, eh?"
Wanda laughed, looking away with flushed cheeks. You swallowed dryly, lifting your hand to turn her face toward you again, stroking her cheek lightly. God, Wanda was beautiful. Her bright green eyes looking back at you, the way her hair fell around her face, every part of her.
"Don't you think we're happening too fast?" Wanda asks insecurely, you don't put your hand down, enjoying the feeling of her skin.
"It depends." You answer letting your gaze wander to her, your free hand searching for hers in your lap, twining your fingers together.
"On what?"
"If you care about me..." You whisper as you bring your faces closer together, stopping when your lips are almost touching, and you and Wanda both close your eyes in anticipation. " As much as I care about you."
You kiss Wanda before she responds. Sweetly and softly. The sensation makes you smile against her lips, and you ignore the urge to deepen the kiss to pull away.
"Is that your way of saying you're in love with me?" Wanda teases half breathlessly a minute later, her tone playful and confident, but her rosy cheeks give away how affected she is. You think she's irresistible.
You laugh lightly, brushing a strand of hair from her face before looking into her eyes.
"I'm in love with you." You confess simply, watching her blink in surprise and amazement. "So, you still think it's too fast?"
Wanda smiles, denying it, and then approaches you.
"I'm in love with you too" She confesses as a secret against your lips. You feel your stomach rumble with nervousness and excitement, but you don't say anything else, because Wanda kisses you again. She asks for passage with her tongue a second later, making you sigh.
You hold your mouths together in a passionate kiss for long minutes, panting against each other' lips as Wanda moves to sit on your lap with her hands on your neck while your hands move up to her waist. You feel hot and bothered, squeezing her skin as if you want to merge with it. It is only when your kisses begin to move down to her collarbone that Wanda gasps saying that you two should go upstairs.
She moves off your lap, breaking the kiss, and you bite your lips, chasing her mouth again. Standing up, Wanda slides her tongue against yours one last time, making your head spin, before she pulls away, smiling at you as she pulls you by the hand into the house.
She signals with her finger for you to be quiet as you enter, and you swallow dryly as you observe the way her eyes are dark.
Getting to your room seems to take forever, especially since you can barely breathe, but finally you arrive.
Wanda locks the door after you enter. And then the atmosphere changes, because you both know what is about to happen.
She smiles shyly at you and you hold out your hand to her, leading her to sit on the bed beside you.
You exchange a glance before you sigh softly, slowly moving closer to her face. When you kiss her, much more tenderly and gently than any other time, Wanda melts.
She raises her hands to your neck, deepening the kiss as she falls onto the bed and takes you with her. You kiss her firmly, swirling your tongue around hers slowly, making her shiver.
There is no rush in what you are about to do, and you certainly want to enjoy every second of it.
You rest your weight against Wanda, enjoying the feeling of having her beneath you, and the sound that escapes her throat. Your mouth separates from hers only for you to move your kisses down her collarbone, causing Wanda to close her eyes and sigh.
Your hands reach behind her back to pull down the zipper of her dress. When your fingers make contact with her exposed skin, Wanda bites her lips, entwining her legs together in search of more friction.
Your kisses move down as you pull the dress off her body, Wanda shifting on the bed to help you undress her. You move away from her neck to remove the piece completely, your gaze falling to her exposed skin the next moment. The redhead blushes at your stare, but all you can do is admire. The sight of her bare breasts makes your core throb, and you feel the urge to touch and kiss every inch.
You kiss her again in the next second, but part your mouths again quickly to move your lips down her body.
At the first touch on her breasts, Wanda gasps loudly. You smile, controlling the urge to tell her not to be so loud, but you are distracted by the growing heat in your core when you suck on her nipple and she whimpers, bringing her hand to your hair to keep you there.
Dividing your attention between the nipples, you kiss, bite, and suck the sensitive skin, keeping enough of it in your mouth for the skin to be marked red, which elicits a hearty moan from Wanda.
As your kisses begin to descend again, Wanda's body tenses. You kiss at the height of her navel before looking up, and already find her looking up at you with darkened eyes, biting her lip.
"Everything okay?" You ask in a sigh, trying to reason properly out of the bubble of lust.
Wanda's hesitation causes you to raise your face back toward her again, keeping your hands by her side so as not to fall against her body.
"What's wrong?" You ask gently, trying to find any sign of discomfort.
"Nothing." She says with a shy smile. "It's just... it's the first time I... since..."
"Yeah, I know." You interrupt half breathlessly, knowing exactly what she is referring to. "Mine too." You confess, but at this point, you knew she should have guessed it too. You have been grieving partners for quite some time, after all. "Do you want to stop?"
"No." Wanda quickly denies, biting back a smile. "I feel good."
You smile, nodding in agreement.
"Me too."
You kiss Wanda gently again, but before the kiss gets more heated, you pull away to whisper against her lips. "Let me know if you feel uncomfortable at any time."
Wanda nods, bringing your lips together next.
//-//
When you awake, it is probably the best sleep you have had in months. Wanda is curled up on you, her clothes spread across the room lit by the sunbeams from the window.
You mumble that you have to get up because the children will be up soon, but Wanda says that her father will take care of them, and kisses you until you completely forget where you are.
When you finally get up, and go downstairs for coffee, neither adult comments at all on the way Wanda's hand remains in yours throughout the meal.
//-//
While Wanda is talking to Pietro and Erik about how they are going to organize the inheritance of the farm, and the children are playing in the backyard in front of the veranda, you decide to call your mother.
You end up learning that she got a buyer for your apartment, but you tell her that you would deal with these matters when you get back. After checking email and that sort of thing, you turn off your cell phone again.
Taking one last look at the children, you walked back into the house, catching a small piece of the conversation of the others in the living room about what would be done about Wanda's flower shop, but you didn't intrude.
"We know a lot of people around here, Wanda." Charles was counting. "I'm sure we'll be able to find a new location for the flower shop."
Wanda looked slightly apprehensive, probably considering all the consequences of the relocation, but she relaxed her posture completely when you entwined your hand with hers.
When the conversation was over, it was decided that the families would move to the farm. Selling the properties in New York would take some time, but they would still move to the city during the vacations. It was going to be a rush, but Erik and Charles were willing to help too.
Since you guys were leaving that afternoon, you went back to your room to pack. And Wanda joined you a moment later, kissing you on the cheek before sitting down on your bed.
" All good?" You asked as you folded your socks.
"Yeah." She confirmed with a smile. "I'm just trying to believe that all this is really happening."
"It's not every day we get a farm, is it?" You joke making her laugh. Wanda bites her lips next, looking at you fondly, and you look away to your bag, feeling your face heat up.
"I forgot to ask you something yesterday." She begins somewhat shyly. You frown slightly, muttering for her to ask. "Are we dating?"
You laugh in surprise, throwing your folded party clothes into your suitcase, before approaching Wanda, raising your hand to her chin.
"What do you think, love?" You ask against her lips, dragging your mouth down her jaw to the height of her ear. "After what you did with your tongue yesterday, you're not going anywhere."
Wanda gasps, clenching her hands in the bed. You smile because you know the memories have hit her all over again. But you turn away next, smiling innocently at the woman in front of you before turning your attention back to the suitcase.
"I don't get a ring?" She teased next, making you laugh briefly. You looked back at the door before advancing against her, kissing her firmly, completely overturning her confident posture. When Wanda sighed against your mouth, you pulled away, and she grumbled, her hand reaching up to grab your belt and pull you back to her, but noises of footsteps made her give up.
Soon the boys came running into the room, talking excitedly about living on the farm and riding every day, and you wanted to laugh at the way Wanda had to disguise how affected she felt by your small make out session to answer her sons' questions.
//-//
After saying goodbye to your hosts with hugs, you sat in the back seat with the boys, because Tommy insisted that he wanted to show you a video game. Wanda drove you to your apartment, and after getting your suitcase from the trunk, you waved goodbye to the boys, and approached the driver's window.
"I'll call you, okay?" You tell her with a smile, Wanda nods, and you kiss her. Tommy and Billy make disgusted noises in the back of the car, and you and Wanda laugh as you part.
Waving to everyone in farewell one last time, you wait for Wanda to leave with the car before you go into the house.
"Kissing girls on the doorstep, heh? Looks like high school all over again." Your mother teases from the kitchen just as you enter. You laugh as you close the door.
"Spying through the kitchen window, Mom? And I thought I was a grown-up." You retort in the same tone as you walk to the kitchen to greet her with a kiss on the forehead, tossing your suitcase on the counter afterwards.
"Are you really dating then?" Your mother asks and you murmur in agreement. She smiles. "I'm so happy, honey. I can't wait to prepare for the wedding."
You roll your eyes humorously, picking up an apple from the countertop.
"We need to talk about your apartment, by the way." She starts again, looking through her briefcase for something. "I've found buyers, and well, I'm already looking at some houses for you, too." She says as you take a seat next to her at the table. "Of course I love having you here, but we both know you can't wait to have a place of your own again."
You sigh lightly.
"Yeah, Mom." You confirm. "About that..."
//-//
"You're late." Agatha remarked as soon as you stumbled into her office. You gave her a lopsided smile, closing the door as you entered.
"Sorry, I had a date and lost track of time."
Agatha raises her eyebrows at you.
"A date, hm? Let's talk about it then."
//-//
You had just deposited Melina's share of the apartment in the bank when your cell phone vibrated.
A message from Bucky, asking if you were coming to therapy with him today, as he was already at the station. You reply with an emoji, and a text saying coming.
//-//
"I am immensely happy for your progress, even though I am upset that you will not be continuing with us." Stephen says to you and Wanda, in your last group session.
"Well, New Jersey has its support groups. But this one is always going to be special." You tell him as you lightly tap his arm. Stephen smiles as he hands you the progress brooches. Wanda has her hand intertwined in yours, and the man in front of you looks at that before commenting.
"You know, I always find it curious the way pairs develop in the group." He comments. "We never ask that the activities be romantic, but still, many of them end up falling in love."
You and Wanda exchange a mixed look of embarrassment and happiness.
"I guess we have you to thank for that." Wanda says next, but Stephen smiles, denying it.
"Not at all. I'm happy for both of you. After all, I always thought you would get along together." He hints last, making you and Wanda laugh softly.
//-//
"I just need to lock up and grab a few last things in the office, and then we can go." Wanda told you when you arrived at the flower shop. The establishment was now empty, as the moving crew had already passed by.
You waited for her in the reception area.
With the key to the flower shop in hand and the last files that were there, Wanda hesitated. You looked at her, standing in the center of the place, eyes watering, and smiled as you approached.
"Everything okay?" You asked as you touched her arms, stroking her to calm her down.
"Yeah." She sighs, looking around one last time before looking back at you. "It just feels like I'm ending something. Like a chapter in my life."
You swallow dryly briefly, nodding.
"Are you scared?"
Wanda smiles.
"Terrified." She confesses. "But I have you, so I know I'll be all right."
You smile, lifting your hands to your neck to kiss her. It's brief and sweet, and it's exactly what you both need to be sure you're doing the right thing.
"You're a flirt, aren't you Maximoff?" You tease with a smile, and Wanda giggles lightly against your lips.
"And you are breathtaking, love."
You felt your face heat up, kissing Wanda again.
"Are you sure about what we're doing, Wanda?" You let the words escape your anxious brain next. Wanda raised her free hand to your face, caressing your cheek.
" Absolute." She assures. "You are my future."
You swallow dryly, affected by the intensity of the confession. A shy smile escapes your lips in the next moment.
"And you are mine."

I took a break from working on A Secret’s Worth to go see Encanto, now enjoy the vision that’s been plaguing me as a result. Long post under the cut.
*
Somehow in their search for answers about Jim troll curse, with the help of a special book that somehow made it to the front of GDT arcane booksellers, Barbara and Jim find a spell that can be used to transfer curses from one person to another. This would be a way to ‘cure’ Jim at last, but neither of them wants to force all the suffering that Jim’s curse caused them on someone else. That’s when they stumble across the magical Encanto, and run into the unmagical Mirabel while Jim is in troll form.
At first everyone’s a little panicked, but Mirabel is no stranger to magic, so they all manage to calm down and figure what’s going on with each other. Its when Barbara mentions a spell to transfer curses that a lightbulb goes off in Mirabel’s head.
Jim has a gift/curse he doesn’t want, she wants a way to shine in a family full of stars.
And sure she doesn't need a gift per say, but since Jim is so keen on getting rid of his....
He could give his troll curse to her.
Barbara and Jim are floored, they do want to free Jim from his ‘curse’ but not if it’s at someone else’s expense. Jim keeps asking her over and over if she’s sure. If Mirabel does this she’ll turn into a monster every time the sun goes down, people might hurt or hunt her. She’ll have super strength she can barely control, be overwhelmed with new powerful senses. As a troll Mirabel’s emotions will be wild and uncontrollable; she won’t be hungry she’ll be starving, she won’t be sad she’ll be utterly devastated, she won’t be angry she’ll be absolutely furious. At night Mirabel will hunger for raw meat and bones, and she can’t just skip eating at night, Jim’s tried that and it doesn’t work, and is she absolutely sure that this is something she wants?
Mirabel isn’t bothered at all. She lives with a magical family in a hidden Encanto, the only people who will see her as a troll are one’s who’ve already been exposed to magic and should accept her troll form with a little explaining. And adjusting to super strength and senses and emotions shouldn’t be too bad; Luisa, Dolores, and Pepa all manage with their gifts just fine, with a little time Mirabel should be able to do the same. And ok the eating raw meat sounds a little gross, but she’ll still be able to eat her favorite foods during the day, and overall that’s a small price to pay for a gift of her own.
Jim keeps going over all the little quirks and drawbacks again and again, if Mirabel’s serious about this he wants to make sure she absolutely knows what she’s getting in to and makes an informed choice. Is she sure, is she really sure that this is what she wants?
Mirabel is absolutely certain, yes it is.
Finally, after making sure she knows the risks and is absolutely sure that she’s ok with taking on Jim’s troll curse, they relent. Using the book Barbara performs the transfer and gives the curse to Mirabel. After making sure the transfer took hold correctly, they all exchange thanks and go their separate ways. Jim and Barbara to Arcadia and Mirabel back to her family.
The next day she announces to the entire family that she now has a gift of her own, ten years late but hey, magic works in mysterious ways right? When they ask what it is she tells them to wait, then at sundown she gathers everyone up and 5...4...3...2...1 Tah Dah! Well, what do you think?
A first no one says anything, they're just stunned, completely stunned, except for Antonio, he’s delighted. He loved getting his gift, and he's thrilled that Mirabel got one to, now they can play with their gifts together and have sleepovers in each other's rooms.
After a little recovery, Julieta is able to match Antonio's enthusiasm, and she knows that excitement and enthusiasm is what Mirabel was looking for from them. Of course Mirabel was special and amazing before now, but Julieta is happy that her daughter got something she's been wanting for a long time, and slowly brings the rest of the family around with some encouragement. Sure turning into some kind of stone creature is a pretty strange gift, but it did come ten years late, maybe Maribel’s just a late bloomer?
But whatever budding reassurance they feel about Mirabel’s ‘gift’ is blown out of the water when they see her door (that appeared inside casita the second the ‘curse’ transferred over to her).
Her door is made of solid gray stone, the mural on it shining silver; human Mirabel under a sun, and Mirabel as a troll under a crescent moon and a sky full of stars. The inside is a vast stone cavern, lit with dozens of glowing crystals and a nest of furs in the corner. Everyone tries their best to be happy for Mirabel, after all she got a gift of her own at last, but they can’t help hear a little voice whispering in the back of their minds that there’s something not quite right about her gift.
That night Abuela stares at the candle for over an hour, not even sure what she’s looking for.
Over the next few weeks Mirabel slowly tries to adjust to her gift. She strong but not as strong as Luisa, she can’t lift a church but can tuck a donkey under each arm. And unlike Luisa Mirabel is fast and agile as well as strong, able to leap across trees and rooftops. Her hearing is good but not nearly as good as Dolores’, but Mirabel also has stellar night vision and a highly acute sense of smell. And Jim was right, emotions are so much more intense, sometimes Mirabel gets so overwhelmed she feels like she’s going to tear off her own skin. But she has Pepa to go to for advice, someone who can create hurricanes with a bad mood must have a pretty good handle on their emotions.
But here’s the thing; Luisa, Dolores, and Pepa all had to adjust and work on controlling their gifts, but only individually. Mirabel is dealing with all three and more at once.
And something Jim couldn’t warn her about because he stifled it before it could fully form, a prey drive.
Once the sun goes down Mirabel finds herself accidentally tossing and breaking things, constantly overstimulated from the nonstop attacks on her senses, emotions jumping from valleys to peaks at the drop of a hat. And without thinking Mirabel will find herself chasing and pouncing on rats she finds around the house. Once she catches them, realizes what she’s doing, and sees the horrified looks on those around her, she’ll release the rats unharmed, but she can’t quite squash the urge to chase them.
But it’s ok, Mirabel knew it wasn’t going to be easy, Jim told her as much, sure it’s hard to get a handle on her new gift but she’s working on it, and it’s a small price to pay to stand on equal footing with the rest of her family, right?
The rest of the Madrigals do their best to help and support Mirabel in their own ways. Sure her gift is strange, and her door as out place as a pine branch on a fruit tree, but she’s still their Mirabel. She didn’t ask for such a strange gift (as far as they know) now she needs all the support she can get.
Mirabel keeps at it, the hard part is over, she has a gift of her own, all she has to do is learn to control it, then Abuela will welcome her with open arms. Right?
The only one who doesn’t is Abuela. She hangs back, only giving the occasional ‘Alright’ and ‘Very well’, keeping a concerned eye on Mirabel. For so long her greatest fear was the magic fading, but now with Mirabel’s strange gift she wonders if it’s not fading, it’s becoming corrupted. If the magic was being corrupted what would that mean? Abuela can’t lose her home, her family, not again.
She won’t let that happen. No matter what.
Then comes the night that Mariano comes over for dinner to propose to Isabela. Mirabel pulls out all the stops, she’s incredibly careful with helping set up and doesn’t break a single plate. When the smell of cooking food gets to be too much she runs to the window for a breath of fresh air. And when she sees rats out of the corner of her eye, she bites her lip and looks away.
The dinner goes perfectly; Mirabel is well behaved the entire time, and Mariano departs with a smile and a wave, leaving a ring on Isabela’s finger. Then Mirabel looks to Abuela, waiting for the praise for controlling her gift so well, getting the pride and acceptance she’s been waiting for.
Only to get a half hearted ‘Good job’ before Abuela retires to her room for the night.
Various family members all do their best to console her, but Mirabel is crushed.
Afterwards Mirabel still puts in the effort, uses her troll form to help her family and the town, working constantly to control it. But deep down she starts to wonder if it will ever be good enough for Abuela.
But here’s the thing, Mirabel’s used to putting on a brave face and soldiering on, but not as a troll, and it’s only so long before those emotions boil over while she’s in troll form, and they do.
At Isabela’s engagement party, when Mirabel’s already stressed from overstimulation and trying to control her strength and inhuman instincts, after one too many dismissive words from Abuela and she just snaps.
Screaming at Abuela, in front of the entire family and a good chunk of the town, to just tell her what she has to do! Tell her what it will take for Mirabel to finally be good enough for her.
Abuela....does not de-escalate.
It gets bad, Mirabel completely loses it. Furniture breaks, people flee in panic, casita cracks, the candle flickers.
The second Mirabel calms down she’s utterly horrified.
All she wanted was a way to shine in her family. She never wanted to hurt them, but that’s what she ended up doing with her transferred ‘gift’ despite how hard she tried to control it--
Jim explicitly told her over and over again that it was a curse, why didn’t she listen?
She runs, fast and hard, Mirabel can’t be with her family anymore, not while she’s a danger to them. She decides to go to Barbara and Jim (not to give the curse back, Jim had some very good reasons for wanting to get rid of it, and she doesn’t feel right asking him to take it back after she begged him to give it to her) maybe they can teach her how to control this curse.
Meanwhile things haven’t been going well for the Lake family. Sure now that Jim’s been ‘cured’ they don’t have to worry about men in black taking him away, but otherwise their situation has changed very little. CPS is still investigating Barbara, with the photos of the scratched basement door sitting in a secure government file. Jim’s relationships with his friends are still in shambles; he’s still angry at them and they still don’t believe him when he says everything’s ok at home.
And neither Jim or Barbara can give good answers to the questions people are asking them relating to the things they had to do while Jim was still cursed.
Despite this they both try to make the best of it. Sure things aren’t perfect, but it’s an improvement, and people might not trust either of them right now but they can earn back the trust and good graces of people around them....right?
Then, right when Jim’s trying to convince himself things are better than they actually are, Mirabel shows up at their door, unable to control her ‘gift’/Jim’s ‘curse’ and too ashamed to go back to her family. Of course Barbara let’s her stay with them, she’d never turn away a child that’s in the same position her son was for over a decade. But now Jim and Barbara are devastated with guilt, they destroyed someone else’s life in an unsuccessful effort to improve their own. Jim himself is utterly devastated; he knew what his curse was like, how much it changed him on so many levels, why did he believe Mirabel when she said she could handle it after just one conversation? Now all three of them are worse off and it’s all because he tried to take the cowards way out.
And of course; CPS, Jim’s friends, and everyone with a halfway functioning set of eyes certainly notices when a mysterious girl shows up out of the blue and starts staying with Barbara and Jim.
But the thing is both Jim and Mirabel’s situation’s are much more dire than they realize, they should have read that spell a lot more carefully.
The spell was only intended to transfer curses, and for all that it’s made his life harder, what Jim calls a curse and Mirabel calls a gift is neither. It’s a magic phenomenon that pulls them from human to troll and back again much the way the moon pushes and pulls the tide. And just as no man could ever hope to halt the tides or knock the moon from the sky, not even Merlin himself could change Jim’s condition.
In other words, Jim’s condition is permanent with a capital P, and with every sunset it’s pulled closer and closer back towards him, until its inevitable return.
But just because the condition is going to inevitably regress to Jim doesn’t mean Mirabel’s going to escape unscathed, not after meddling in magic far more powerful than she is. And just the brief time that she held onto Jim’s ability was enough to infect her with her own version of it.
Now instead of being tied to the movement of the sun, Mirabel’s troll form is bound to nothing but her own emotions. Any strong emotion; fear, anger, even excitement, is enough to bring out the troll in her. Nothing standing between her and exposure except for Mirabel’s own tenuous control of her emotions and instincts.
Both of these kids have magic deep in their veins, and despite their best efforts to hide and stifle it, it’s crawling it’s way to the surface. And it’s only a matter of time until the truth of what they are is exposed, to people in Arcadia and those below it.

Held Back - Harry Hook x Ben’s sibling! Reader - Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note; before we start, “reader” is non-binary but since I've always imagined Auradon is pretty… old-fashioned and close-minded, they really don’t realize they are NB but know they don’t like being referred to as a “girl” or a “female”. Also, I know “realistically” Adam and Belle wouldn’t neglect their 2nd kid for the first n shit but it’s called a plot point and they are like that for a reason.
Tried to not use “readers” pronouns at all until we get to the good shit where they are like “oh, that’s what that is?”
Also, this will be a 2-part story, the 1st takes place in D2, while the 2nd will take place after D2 and into D3 :3
OH, slight smut in this fic….yeah…it doesn’t get detailed-detailed, but it gets…heated…yeah…if you don’t like even reading this that hint at sex then I’ll put warnings at the beginning and end of those scenes :3 otherwise this is a pretty “safe” fic
Enjoy~
=
Being the daughter, and the 2nd child, to Beast and Belle, wasn’t…what everyone assumed it was. Everyone expected that since you were their 2nd kid, one that wasn't in line for the throne, that you could do anything, get away with anything. That you could just shrug and say ‘oops’ and all would be forgiven. But it wasn’t. It was constant rules and upkeep, never able to run free and scrape your knee when you fell off the tree you had climbed, never able to just scream as you ran along the shoreline, soaking the seawater into your clothes.
Always sit up straight, never cross your legs, never run, never frown, never sneer, don’t talk back, don’t yell, just sit there and -
Be perfect
For the early years of your life, you had loved Ben. Ben your 5-minute older twin brother, Ben who always cared about you, Ben who hid the vase you had broken when you were chasing him through the castle halls when told not to.
Ben; who had refused to let you be pushed aside.
But resentment grew when your parents would always favor him, always praise him; for the bare minimum.
If he got a B in his project? Amazing! Take him out for ice cream.
You? Getting a B+? scolding’s and being told to do better next time, with your dessert taken away for the week.
While you held this resentment for him, you couldn’t hate him, not really, not when he would sneak you his leftover ice cream that was your favorite flavor, one that he hated but your parents didn’t know, not when he would run into your room on stormy nights to make sure you were okay.
Not when he obviously loved you so much.
But you wanted more, you needed more…just something to fill the gap that your parents were leaving. A gap that for some reason they couldn’t see was growing bigger every time they turned their backs on you and turned to Ben.
You were a loner too…most of your “friends” were actually Bens friends, Audrey being one of the few that usually hung out with you outside of Ben and Chad, she was petty as hell sometimes and pretty passive-aggressive to those she didn’t like but she had never seen you as “Bens sister” or “the second child of King beast and Queen Belle”
She just saw you as (y/n), her friend.
When the VKs came, it was almost a relief, finally, the attention was off of you. With Bens coronation and even your parents paying more attention to the new kids instead of picking apart what was wrong with your English essay.
You had tried talking to them, but all four of them were pretty off Standish, and in their own group almost all the time, but after they had chosen good, you and Evie had started talking and had grown a small friendship, one that was nothing compared to what she had with Ben and Mal but you didn't feel as lonely anymore.
Mal had…. acknowledged your existence…yeah, the two of you didn’t really interact much. And you were fine with that.
Especially after Ben told you she tried to memory spell him (you had almost stormed into her dorm guns blazing). Then soon after that, Ben and the other vks were going back to the isle, and you were utterly bored and needed to do something other than sit in your room and disappoint your parents by doing nothing so why don’t go to the isle and disappoint your parents for a good reason!
So now, you stood at the stairway below the core four’s hideout, happy you had taken your denim jacket with you as the isle chill set in.
“so?” Evie asked Ben as he solemnly climbed back down the stairs, his eyes at the ground “where’s Mal?” Ben shook his head, pushing past Evie and Jay and walking down the ally.
“she's not coming back” he muttered before disappearing. You kept your eyes on him in worry, ignoring the other three’s worry over Mal who was safe and sound in her little hideout while your brother, who knew how to hold a sword but sucked at hand to hand, disappeared into the alleys of the isle.
You moved to go after him but stopped as a much taller, leaner shadow took Bens place in a blink and walked toward you. “hey!” you yelled, the vks stopping in their Mal rant and turning to you “Ben’s gone”
Evie's face melted from worry for Mal to worry for Ben as she stepped next to you and called for Ben as the tall shadow got closer “Ben…Ben!”
It seemed they thought the new shadow was Ben as Evie sighed in relief and looked away, setting her hand on your shoulder “Ben don’t scare us like that!”
“Don’ scare yeh~?” the tall shadow stepped into the light, the teens bright blue eyes sending shocks down your spine as you looked into them “That’s my specialty ~” he purred, his eyes flashing between you and Jay. Evie breathed out his name in annoyance.
Harry…what a nice name...
“what did you do with Ben!” Jay stepped in front of you, not liking the way Harry was eyeing you up. Harry seemed to no understand what Jay was asking before he gasped, turning slightly to point down the ally.
“oh~! We nicked ‘im~!” he nodded as if he was explaining something to a toddler “and if yeh want ta’ see ‘im again~ have Mal come to the chip shop tonight~” his eyes darkened as he gestured to the group with his hook “Alone…Uma wants” his tone lightened again, his eyes looking back at you with curiosity “a little visit~”
He looked at jay again and pursed his lips, looking up and down “aw Jay~” he tilted his head and gave a teasing grin “seems like ye’ lost yer touch~” Jay growled and tried to tackle Harry, but was stopped by Evie. Harry held his hands up and giggled, turning to you and bowing slightly “your highness~” he purred, winking at you and blowing a kiss as he walked away.
The vks mostly ignored his last few actions and Jay hopped up the side of the stairs to get to Mal, while you watched Harry disappear into the ally, your heart going miles a minute.
“wow” you muttered, shaking your head to get rid of the fluffy feeling in your head “get a grip (y/n), he just kidnapped your brother!”
You quickly followed Evie and Carlos as the gate door of the stairway lifted and ascended to the hideout.
-
Leaving you on your own in the hideout was probably the worst choice the vks had made that entire night, as you had nothing to entertain yourself with so you just left and traveled around.
You had somehow walked from the hideout to the docks, and if you remembered correctly, this was the pirate's territory. So, you spun back around to get your ass back to the hideout but stopped as two sets of lust-filled eyes stared back.
But unlike Ben, you smirked as you crouched into a fighting stance, you had taken almost every self-defense class you could. For more than one reason but mainly because even in Auradon there were still nasty people.
The bigger one of the two men rushed at you, but ultimately flopped to the floor as you pivoted on your right foot and swung your left leg around, hitting him directly in the temple and knocking him out.
You grinned at the other man and waved your fingers at him “come get me~” you jeered, laughing to yourself as he yelled and rushed at you.
But before he could take a step closer, a silver hook whacked over his head and knocked the second man out. You pouted and glared at the new person, not caring if it was the teen that had kidnapped your brother an hour ago “hey!”
“hey~!” he mocked back, a teasing smile on his face. He stepped over the two men and curled his hook under your chin, his eyes drifting over your face “now what's a little princess-” you twitched at the nickname “-like yeh traveling alone on the isle~ it's dangerous yeh know?”
You forced down the heat that wanted to cover your face and shrugged, mentally smirking as Harry rose his brow “well…they left me alone in the hideout and I got bored…can't blame me for wanting some excitement eh?”
He squinted at you for a minute, as if he was trying to figure you out…then he finally spoke “yer different than’ I thought yeh would be” he muttered softly, the cool metal of his hook drifting away from your chin and back at his side.
You crossed your arms and cocked your hip, giving the pirate a smirk “what did you think I was going to be like?”
“prissy, stuck up, wouldn’t touch the isle even with a hundred’ foot pole” he shrugged, licking his lips as you rolled your eyes and brew a lock of hair out of your face.
“well as you’ve just experienced, that’s not true” Harry laughed through his nose, looking up towards the barrier and running his free hand through his hair.
“aye…” his shockingly blue eyes drifted back down to meet yours. “so why even come ta the isle? Fer beasty boy? Malsy?”
You looked down at your shoes…you really had no reason to come along did you? Ben and the others could have easily handled getting back Mal without you…so why?
“because if my parents are going to disappointed in me it might as well be for a real reason” you muttered, letting your arms drop to your side.
You felt Harry's eyes on you as you stared hard at the ground, willing yourself not to cry. “that sucks” you looked at Harry through your lashes, seeing him staring at you with sad eyes “I thought…I thought all Bora-don parents loved their kids” he laughed uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his head.
“well…they are still human…and just because they are hailed as good people, don’t mean they are good parents” you sighed, crossing your arms again and looking away from Harry's eyes.
“wait…Bora-don?” you laughed, turning back to Harry with a grin. He seemed to be relieved of the subject change and a sharp grin grew on his face.
“aye, it's boring, so, Bora-don~” he giggled, rocking on his heels a bit. A few moments passed then he held his hand out to you.
You stared at it, then him for a few moments. “come on, let's give yer dumbass parents a real reason ta be disappointed in yeh” you smiled and took his hand, laughing quietly to yourself as Harry tugged you away from the docks and toward wherever he was taking you.
-
Your legs were in Harry's lap as the two of you cackled into the dead of night, hands stained with paint and rotten food. Harry had taken you for a night of chaos, destroying vendors with paint, pranking the twin sons of Gaston’s with balloons filled with rotting eggs, and just wreaking havoc in the streets of the isle.
Harry's arm went behind your back as you fell to the side slightly, his bicep pushing against your arm. “thank you Harry” you hummed as you finally calmed down, giving him a closed-lipped smile. “this…this really meant a lot to me” he stared at your lips for a moment before a soft, unsure, smile grew on his lips.
“it was no biggie princess,” your lip twitched at the title “I was kinda already planning ta do all those things anyway…thought it was pretty fun ta do it with someone instead of by myself” you laughed a bit, leaning back on your hands and closing your eyes.
“I get that”  it was silent for a few moments, just you and Harry on top of the abandoned building.
“yeh reacted when I called yeh princess” you twitched again “yeh did it again…is something up with the word?”
You sighed, then opened your eyes, staring into Harry for a moment then looking away “I…I don’t like being referred to like that…it’s not the title its…what it refers to… it's hard to explain”
Harry tilted his head, his hand going on your knee to gently push you to continue “is it the royalty thing?”
“no” you dismissed quickly “its…the princess thing…its…well…ugh” you took your legs off Harry's lap and switched to sitting on your knees, looking at Harry with serious eyes “I've never told anybody this and you have to swear you won't tell anybody else after I tell you” Harry blinked wildly for a moment then looked at you confused.
“lass” you twitched again, making Harry pause for a moment “darling, unless it’s something that will help bring down the barrier or take over the world, I won't tell a soul” you snickered for a moment before you took a deep breath, preparing to tell a person you had just meet that day, one that had kidnapped your brother no less, your greatest secret.
It didn’t help that you felt more comfortable with him in five minutes than you had with your parents for the last 16 years. “I…don’t like it when I'm referred to with girl-like titles or…pronouns” you winced, hands going to block anything that might come your way.
“oh, yeh don’t like she-her pronouns where they are used in a way to refer ta yeh?” Harry clarified, you looked at him slightly odd, expecting some sort of relation or comment, but…it was as if you had just told him you didn’t like a vegetable instead of you not being comfortable with your gender pronouns?
“uh…yeah basically?” you rubbed the back of your head, the other hand picking at the loose threads on your pants.
“yeah, it's not that uncommon ‘ere, I think Desiree is non-binary and one of the other crew members is gender-fluid…not that it's not a big deal but…why have yeh never told anybody else about that? Not even yer brother?” your wide-eyes looked away, hands clenching into your shirt “Darling?”
“um…Auradon isn’t really…accepting of most things…I didn’t even know that…non-binary and gender-fluid were a thing…what do they mean?” you looked back at Harry who seemed to be very surprised “what?”
“nothin’ I'm just surprised tha’ the place of happily ever after’s is kinda…shit?” he laughed, rubbing the back of his head “okay lemme remember what Desiree told me um…Okay non-binary is when you don’t…identify as the gender yeh were at birth so say…okay take Desiree as an example, they’ve been told they’ve been a girl since they were born but they’ve always felt like that didn’t fit, but being a boy didn’t feel right either. so that’s what non-binary is. It's that yeh are neither male nor female yeh are…well you, and most of the time, as far as I know, they use they-them pronouns instead of she or he. but I think some of them use she and they, or he and they…just depends on who uses the pronouns n stuff.”
That…that sounded right…you had never liked female pronouns on you, and ages ago, when you tested male pronouns to yourself, that never felt right either…could you be non-binary? “um, what about gender-fluid?” Harry took a deep breath and looked up.
“Okay, I’m not as knowledgeable on that since the one who actually told me about it didn’t tell me everything…anyway, its under the same...umbrella i think its called as non-binary but genderfluid is when you are both genders, not at the same time…I think, but one day yeh can be female, the other a male, sometimes neither, but that’s what gender-fluid is. They don’t have a fixed gender”
While that sounded interesting…it didn’t feel right to you, you never felt like a girl, and you never felt like a boy… “I think I’m non-binary” you breathed, feeling like a weight was lifting off your entire body. You grinned as Harry smiled.
“awesome, welcome to the club darling” you let yourself fall forward into Harry’s chest, who stiffened slightly and slowly wrapped his arms around you.
“thank you” you muttered quietly, rubbing your cheek into his collarbone. His entire body was still as you cuddled into him, before he relaxed and laid his cheek on your head.
“yer welcome darling” he whispered back, one of his hands going up to cup the back of your head, thumb gently rubbing back and forth.
You jumped as a sudden loud noise crashed below you, and you further ducked into Harry, yelping slightly as he tipped back and the two of you ended up in an odd pile on the rooftop.
Harry tightened his arms around you, his entire body tense again as he listened for any threats. He let out a soft sigh as the high-pitched yowl of a cat rang from where the loud noise came and the animal scuttled off. “yer fine” he whispered, letting his head hit the roof as you sat up and looked around “jus’ a cat”
-smut starts here so if you don’t want to read anything that either includes it or hints at it just scroll till you get to another warning, but this does has some plot points in it soo scroll at ur own risk-
You nodded slightly, twisting around to look at the bleak buildings of the isle. you felt something beneath your legs and you glanced down, feeling heat creep into your face as you realized you were straddling Harry's thigh, it seemed he didn’t fully realize you were doing it as well, his leg rubbing against…well your…area.
You squeaked as he pushed his leg up further and tipped forward, your hands reaching out and slamming next to Harry's head to catch yourself.
His eyes flashed open, red building on his cheeks as your faces were suddenly only two inches apart. “um” you looked to the side, biting your lip “s-sorry” Harry glanced down, the blush spreading to his ears as he realized what the pressure against his leg was. He laid his leg flat and let out a short laugh.
“uh…” you locked eyes again, and a strong shiver was sent down your spine as you looked into his sparkling ocean blue eyes.
You could feel an ache between your legs begin to grow as you lifted yourself back up and hovered over Harry's hips. Harry slowly sat up, stopping inches away from your face, his eyes drifting to your lips for a moment then looking back up at you. “I-“ you whispered, biting your lip as a devious idea came to mind “I have…an idea”
“oh,” Harry whispered back, leaning a bit closer, his hands sliding forward on the ground and resting on your thighs. “Wha’?”
“you know what would really disappoint my parents?” you grinned, your hands reaching up from your sides and gripping onto Harry's jacket, pulling him toward you a bit.
He grinned back, looking down at your lips again “wha’ would tha’ be?”
You leaned in, lips only an inch from his “sleeping with someone they would hate” you could almost feel the wide grin that spread on his lips.
“sounds an excellent idea~” he purred, hands flashing up to your shoulders as yours curled around his neck and pulled him into a hard kiss, teeth clashing and faces warm.
Harry's leg arched up against your butt and forced you forward again, your lips parted with a gasp as Harry leaned back with you. he wrapped his arms around your torso, pressing your chest into his and leaning down to nip at your neck “Harry” you breathed, pressing your lips together as Harry's hands drifted down to your butt and pushed it against his hips, an odd hardness pressing against the ache between your legs. You let out a low whispering moan as he ground against you, his lips smirking against your neck as you started to meet his hips in tandem.
“that’s it darling” he purred, trailing up your neck and sucking on your jaw “jus’ like tha’” you whimpered, ducking your head down and burning into Harry's neck as Harry's hips started to go harder and faster against you. You let out small gasps as your hips twitched and ground back down into Harry's, who let out small groans against your shoulder.
“hang on hang on” Harry grabbed your hips, stopping you and sitting up. One of his hands reached up to the back of your neck and pulled you back, lips crashing into yours in a bruising kiss. His hips started again, the heat between your legs almost becoming unbearable as you trust against them to get rid of the ache.
Harry nipped at your lip, smirking as you opened at his request and tilted his head to deepen the kiss. He sucked at your lip, dragging your tongue into his mouth. You sighed at the feeling, tightening your grip on his jacket as you let him just play with your tongue.
He pulled back, smirking at the trail of saliva that still connected your lips. “shall I take yeh to my apartment yer highness~ yeh should be taken in a place of privacy, not a damned rooftop.” Your hazy mind yelled at you to go with him and you nodded, yelping slightly as Harry grabbed your thighs and stood with ease, your legs locking around his waist. “I’ll take good care of yeh darling~”
-
You let out a breathless gasp as your back hit his bed, the larger teen pouncing on top of you, not waiting for you to stop bouncing, and pressed another bruising kiss to your lips.
You heard him unzip his jacket and throw it across his room, the chain across the back making a loud sound as it hit the wall. He pulled away from you for a moment to rip off his sword sheath and shirt. You felt your face burn as his pecks and abs came into sight, slowly reaching out to trail your fingers against his scars as he pulled his shirt over his head.
You felt him shiver as you brushed your knuckle over his perked nipple and gripped onto his bicep, biting your lip at the look in his eyes as he smirked down at you.
“before we start” he rasped in a low tone, making you press your thighs together to relieve the ache that pulsed “do you really want ta do this?”
“yes” you answered immediately, smiling at his question, good to know that even after you had gone this far, he still asked for consent. He smiled back and leaned down, pressing his forehead to yours, noses touching.
“Jus’ tell me ta stop, and I will” you nodded and pulled his lips down into yours, immediately opening your mouth and clashing your tongue with his.
Within seconds your jacket was taken off and Harry pushed your top up above your breasts, unclipping your bra from the back and pushing that over your breasts as well.
You pushed at his chest, Harry immediately pulling away and raising his brow, laughing slightly as you sat up and discarded your top and bra. You pulled him back into the kiss, groaning into his as his hips dipped and pressed into yours again.
He pulled away for a split moment, making you whine in objection and tug on his hair. He leaned down and whispered into your ear, lips brushing against your skin.
“I'll make sure yeh won't be able ta walk properly tomorrow~”
-
Harry started up at the ceiling, his fingers gently trailing up and down your back. Almost every inch of him ached, from the reddening hickeys on his neck, torso, and hips, the scratches on his arms, back, and torso, to the bitemark on his neck.
He looked out his window, noting it was pitch black outside. He sighed and turned his head into you, curling his other arm around you and tugging you tighter into his side, breathing in the scent of your (fav shampoo).
He didn’t know why, but from the moment he had first seen you, your curious eyes peeking from behind Jay's shoulder, he had felt something flutter within him. He wasn’t able to stop thinking about you from then on, even as he taunted Ben in the lost revenge’s brig, unable to get those hypnotic (e/c) eyes out of his head.
He couldn’t ignore the genuine happiness when he saw you again, taking down those goons with ease and confidence. He couldn’t ignore the feeling in his chest when you laughed, the intense fluttering when you smiled at him.
The way heat rushed to his cheeks when you hugged him.
The passion he felt as he looked down at your writing body as he was deep inside you.
-Alright! Yall who don’t like reading smut/stuff that hints at it are good! You may continue reading!-
He shouldn’t feel this way, not for the child of the king that had sent his father to the isle, and dooming hundreds of kids to a floating prison just for being the children of villains. He shouldn’t feel this way about the sibling of the king they had kidnapped and were holding for ransom.
He had only heard of this type of feelings from stories of the heroes of Bora-don, how they had somehow fallen in love within seconds of meeting the other. He had never understood it, calling it stupid that someone would fall in love with someone they just met.
He understood it now, the ache in his chest when he thought of you being hurt when the villains took over the world after Uma got the wand and freed them all. He only had one word to assign it to.
Love.
His grip on your waist tightened, and he buried his face in your hair. He didn’t know if he would ever see you again after today, so he would treasure the moments he had with you now.
You groaned slightly in your sleep, your hand that wasn’t trapped under his pillow reaching up and curling around his neck, pulling yourself further into his neck, your nose pushing into the dip between his shoulder and neck.
He pressed a kiss to your head and closed his eyes, huffing slightly as he realized he felt completely content by your side.
-
You grumbled as beams of light pushed through your closed eyes, you pushed off Harry's chest and glared at the window, reaching to close the curtain that half covered it, huffing as you realized you couldn’t reach it from your spot buried in Harry's side.
You stilled as Harry's arm reached past you and closed the curtain, leaving the room in calmly lit darkness. He put his hand on your head and pushed it back onto his chest, thumb gently caressing the back of your head. “morning” you rasped, tilting your head to rest your chin on Harry's pecs and smiling at the slowly awakening pirate.
“morning darling” he rasped back, his sleepy ocean blue eyes staring back at you. He slowly sat up, shifting you to sit in his lap as he shook his head to force himself to wake up. “wha’ time is it” he grumbled, raising his brow as you reached behind him for your pants, that were hanging off his bed frame, and pulled out your phone.
“8:30” you set your phone on the nightstand and flopped back into Harry's chest, tightly wrapping your arms around him. “what time is the…thing?”
“12” he hummed, pressing his cheek to your head and holding onto you “so…”
“three and a half hours” you did the math for him, pouting as he pulled you back slightly and looked into your eyes.
“Uma wanted me at the ship at nine darling…” you sighed, looking at your lap as you realized your time with the handsome pirate was almost up.
He pressed a kiss to your head and pulled his blankets around you, covering your nakedness and getting out of the bed, aware of your eyes on his butt as he walked over to his dresser.
“Please tell me it wasn’t just me” he paused as he slid his underwear over his hips and looked over at his shoulder at you, eyes widening as he saw a droplet of water appear from behind your hair and fall onto the blanket “please tell me it wasn’t just me that felt something”
He was silent for a few moments, biting his lip as his heart raced with the realization that you felt the same way he did.
He stared at you for a few moments before turning back to his dresser and opening the small box on top and pulling out a necklace.
He turned and walked towards you, giving you a soft smile as he sat in front of you and gently lifted the tread around your neck, trailing his fingers down it and holding the small charm in his fingertips.
You glanced down at it and gasped, the charm was a small metal hook with a small red gem in the middle of the bulb. “this is something I’ve had fer awhile” Harry whispered, looking back up at you and bonking his forehead into yours “Gil made it for meh a long time ago, but it…it didn’t feel right on me…but I kept it cause it felt like it had a purpose…I guess that purpose was ta be on yeh” you sniffed as your vison blurred “what I’m saying is…yes, it wasn’t jus’ you, I felt something too”
He tilted your chin up with his finger, softly smiling at you and leaning in slightly “a feeling I’ve only heard in yer Bora-don tales” you gasped slightly at that, heart going a thousand miles a minute as you realized he had felt the same way you did since you had first seen him last night in the ally “it sounds stupid” he chuckled, looking off for a moment “I never believe those tales of love at first sight or that type of shit but…” he looked back into your eyes, hand trailing from your chin to the back of your neck “I was proved wrong”
He pulled you into a sweet, soft kiss, your eyes closing as he slowly moved his lips against yours, his other hand coming up and taking your hand that wasn’t holding the blanket.
Your mind went hazy as the world around you melted away at the taste of Harry's bruised lips, giving you the softest kiss you had ever gotten from anyone.
He pulled back for a moment, pressing another soft kiss to your lips before sitting back and opening his eyes, smiling as you kept yours closed and swayed slightly “(y/n)” he whispered, realizing he had to go very soon if he wanted to make sure you got back to the core four safely, and make it to the ship on time “ye have ta go now”
You slowly opened your eyes and pouted, tilting forward and hugging Harry tightly “I know, but It's too dangerous for yeh here love, get dressed, and I’ll walk ye back to the hideout” you shook your head against his chest but obeyed after he clicked his tongue and picked one of your legs up and let it drop on the floor.
He pressed a kiss to your forehead and stood, grabbing his clothes that had been tossed around in the night and quickly getting dressed, grumbling about his belts that had somehow disappeared.
“under the bed” you snorted, laughing as Harry paused and dropped to his knees and looked under the bed, muttering some curses to himself as he pulled out the two black-brown belts and attached them to his hips.
You sighed as you ran your fingers over the purple hickeys all over your neck and torso, whistling slightly at the dark bite mark on your ribs. You mentally thanked your past self as you pulled your turtle neck over your head and smoothed it down. “yeh ready darling?” you nodded over to your shoes and picked them up, walking over to Harry's bed to put them on.
You finished lacing them up and jumped slightly as Harry's hand appeared in your vision. You looked up slightly, biting your lip as he was fully geared up, a tricorn hat on his head, and a blue headwrap hiding his fluffy back hair. He had lined his eyes thick making the blue pop. You took his head and stood, the two of you walking out of his apartment and towards the hideout.
-
You stopped just a little less than a block away from the hideout, Harry taking off his hat and holding it in front of your faces as he pressed a soft kiss to your lips “I’ll see yeh later yer highness” he whispered with a smile, he took a step back and bowed low, flipping his hat on his head as he stood.
You shared a sad smile and Harry walked away. You watched him for a moment before you called after him, he turned with a raised brow “stay safe…please” you smiled as he nodded.
“as yeh wish” he turned away and walked toward the wharf, leaving you to return to the hideout alone, the cold metal of the hook charm against your chest reminding you that you might never see him again after today.
-
You never did see him again that day, being forced to stay with the car as the others went to get Ben.
It had been a week since cotillion, and you stared at yourself in the mirror, dark bags under your eyes as the clock read 2 am.
It had been hard…hearing yourself being referred to as “she” or “her” or “the sister of king ben” when you had finally found out who you were.
After you had gotten back you had scoured the internet to look up the terms Harry had told you. Non-binary…’Non-binary people not only do not identify as the gender they were assigned at birth; they do not identify with the male or female gender at all’
You were non-binary, and it was so hard to hear yourself be misgendered after years of feeling uncomfortable being referred to as a ‘girl’ then finally figuring yourself after meeting Harry. you thought of telling the core four, but you were scared that they would ask about how you found out, and then you would have to spill the beans about Harry.
You didn’t know what it meant to be non-binary but…this was your journey right? As long as you felt it was right…it had to be the right path…right? You glanced at the scissors on the counter, then back at yourself in the mirror, frowning at your long hair that your mother had demanded that you never cut dramatically, in fear that you would be seen as a boy.
…well fuck that.
You grabbed your scissors in one hand, your hair in the other, and pulled it to the side. You closed your eyes as you held the scissors over your hair.
*snip!*
You hardly looked as you chopped off your long hair, the locks falling on your feet and bathroom floor as you did.
You took a deep breath as you set down the scissors again and quickly looked at yourself, breath-stopping as you did.
“oh” you breathed, leaning forward towards the mirror and reaching up to touch your choppy short hair “...there you are” the cut was ugly and rough but…it felt right…you smiled, running your hands through your hair.
A thought came to mind, and you ran into your room to grab a baggy button-up shirt you had stolen from Ben months ago and quickly threw it over your tank top and buttoned it up.
You took a deep breath and stepped in front of your mirror, your eyes burning as you felt like you were seeing yourself for the first time “there you are” you whispered again, reaching up and grabbing the hook charm as you closed your eyes.
Your name was (y/n), and you were non-binary.
And if that disappointed your parents? Or anyone else in Auradon? Fuck em.
If you were proud of yourself that was all that mattered.
-end of part 1-
2nd parts gonna be after d2 and into D3 with (y/n) telling Ben and the C4 about them being NB and doing things to help themselves feel more like themselves…yep :D hopefully, I did this fic right and represented those who are non-binary correctly, I used the knowledge I had and did some research to make sure I didn’t type any stupid shit.
Oh also enjoy this little sketch dump I did while writing this, it's not (y/n) exactly, but just how I envisioned the “character” if it wasn’t a blank slate “character” lol, and yes they do got a pirate look going on…that’s the point XD they take inspo for their fashion from Harry/pirates.

Tom Riddle's Moodboard
Main Character's Moodboard
~////////////////𓆙////////////////~
1940 - 3rd year
“Potions is not that bad, I swear. You just have to be good at measuring.”
At the table, my friends and I are discussing our classes this year. Potions being one of my favorite topics. Devyn absolutely loathes that certain class. We have to drag her there to make sure she doesn’t skip. Poor girl tries her best to not mess up but the cauldron always ends up blowing up. I even watched her do every step once, never missing a beat. The potion still ended up failing, even though she did everything correctly. She gave up after a while, who wouldn’t. I help her do extra assignments for extra credit to keep her grade up. She also studies with me to make sure she can memorize everything and pass her tests. Amelia is pretty good at the class, she’s luckily paired with Devyn most of the time. Carrying the potion to success, with a little bit of my secret help. It’s not cheating, it’s using your resources.
I’m resources.
“Potions is not that bad,” Devyn mocks me. “If it weren’t for you two I would have gone insane in that stupid class.”
Amelia just laughs at her while eating her hash browns on the plate. She reaches her hand out to take some more eggs.
“You were able to do it before. Not the way you were supposed to, but it worked,” Amelia says.
“Exactly, just start doing it your way at this point. I don’t think Slughorn will care how it’s done, just how it comes out.”
Devyn nods her head and points at me with a fork. Her mouth full of food so she settles for that response. My plate doesn’t have much other than some bacon and fruit. I’m not usually a breakfast eater. I get my appetite at lunch and dinner time. It’s just too early for a bunch of food smells, the smells make me kind of nauseous. I’ll eat though, enough to hold me off till lunch.
The chatter in the lunchroom rises by the minute. Everyone refilling themselves before their busy day. All energy levels rising while everyone wakes up from their groggy morning mood. While my friends finish eating we continue to talk about our classes and share the schedules for this year. Most classes we had were the same except for our electives. I tried taking as many electives as possible. My family back home never really did magic. I actually came a year and a half late since my family wanted me to have a normal school experience. I learned to do everything without the use of magic, the only thing my mom taught me was the floo network, creatures, and plants. I would often accompany her to Diagon Alley when she shops. I got an Owl for my 10th birthday. A cat would have been amazing if I wasn’t allergic to it. My owl is a brown and white-furred barn owl. Don’t ask me why I named it Bartholomew. I was ten okay, give me a break. Speaking of the floo network, my mom had to chase me through it quite often because I kept teleporting everywhere. I once ran into the Ministry of Magic’s building and got lost. They had to take me home to my parents. Their faces told me everything I needed to know about the punishment waiting for me.
Halfway through the second year is when I came to Hogwarts, a second letter coming that year asking my parents to let me learn more there. So when they finally let me attend, everything was pretty new to me. My mother was the magic one in the family. Her grandmother, my great-grandmother, before her had the magic gene. Going to school was the same experience as going from a muggle-borns perspective. The difference is, I knew more about its existence. I would look at yearbooks my mom had from when she went here. She earned a lot of titles, all the achievements being recorded down. I always wondered why she never wanted me to come here. Did something happen to me, to her? I’m guessing she just wanted a normal life with dad. He has always supported her through everything. A love, a bond like that is hard to come by. He would also learn about magic right next to me. At least, the stuff my mom allowed to let us know.
That’s why I want to learn as much as I can, of what’s available. Why learn math in the muggle world when I could be learning divination. Spells of all types, potions for everything of inconvenience. My chores could be completed with just a flick of my wand. I’ve lately been learning wandless magic, on my own. Albus has helped by providing me with material to study that type of magic. The only thing I’ve managed so far is a spark coming from the tips of my fingertips. Sparking hope that I could actually, maybe, achieve that level. Now I won't get my hopes up, but that can lead me to a certain advantage in dueling. That being one of my weakest skills. Always panicking, saying any spells that pop up in my mind, and making random movements coming from my wand. Often confusing who I’m up against, although they recover from that confusion fairly quickly.
Riddle, met him once. One too many if you would ask me. I dissuade ever wanting to speak to him. Arrogance and pride flow through his tongue like second nature. I do take pride in succeeding above him in 3 classes. He is 2 classes above me but, that’s not the point. I do admit, he’s attractive. Only a little though, how else would he charm his way through the professors and students.
“Alright, I’m ready to go. You guys done?”
“Yeah,” I say. Devyn and I start leaving our seats and heading towards the huge doors.
Amelia hurried from her seat, a few steps behind since she took some fruit with her to eat on the way. More and more students also started making their way towards the first period. Not wanting to be blamed for the loss of house points. This system causes so many fights, everyone’s competitive side getting the best of their common sense. I would be lying if I said it didn’t get the best of me before. Amelia being her usual bubbly self skips backward while chatting with us. Before we could warn her to stop, she pushes someone ahead of her. Both falling down, hitting the floor. She spins her head extremely quickly, her hair sticking in her mouth from the force of the wind.
“I’m so sorry, I wasn’t paying attention,” she explains. Quickly trying to digest her situation. I make my way towards her and pull her up. I fix her robe and dust off any dirt on the cloth from the floor.
“Clearly idiot, can you not use those bug eyes of yours to see?”
Devyn and I make eye contact. We understand that there are witnesses here, and one of them is bound to snitch on us if we fight. A huge scene would probably make Amelia feel even more embarrassed as well. Instead, I guided Amelia by her back. We continue on to class while I comfort her. Devyn is staying back to “talk” to the guy. Lestrange is in for it now, any poor soul would be when in the fiery path of her anger.
Devyn’s loud yells could still be slightly heard when entering the potions classroom. First class of the year, and day. On Slughorn’s table, I can see a vial with the wideye potion contained inside. I set Devyn’s textbook on her station, turning to the page that contains information on the potion. Hoping to save her confusion and time.
“Welcome, welcome! Nice to see some old faces, and new ones,” he says with the biggest grin on his face. “Today we’ll be learning about the Wideye potion. Can anyone tell me what this potion does?”
I quickly raise my hand, rather eager. I did some reading about a lot of potions during the summer. Trying to get a headstart on my studies. This potion being one of them. Only 3 students raised their hand, one of them being me. The other, well, Riddle.
“Yes, go ahead and answer,” the professor looks my way.
I smile, “The wideye potion prevents the person consuming the liquid the ability to fall asleep. Which is often used in the medical field to wake someone from a sleep caused by a blunt force or drug.”
“Precisely! 10 points.”
I look back rather smugly at Riddle, rather happy I got chosen instead of him. I know, he could have easily answered that too. I’ll let myself bask in the small achievement for now. 30 minutes of class is just spent writing down notes, preparing us for the potion we will make. Note-taking is my favorite, especially the little doodles I get to make. We use a feather instead of the regular pen. I found it rather amusing and liked the certain feeling of writing with it. The dipping noise that the point of the feather makes when hitting the liquid ink is a very profound sound. No real writer’s bump forming on my fingers.
“That’s enough writing, I need you all to prepare your cauldron, gather the materials you need, and start your potion. If done correctly, tomorrow when we add the finishing touches and check on it the potion should be a blue/green color,” Slughorn comments. “You have 10 minutes to study your notes, then the rest of the class to make your potion. No looking back at your notes after those ten minutes.”
After scanning my notes, I stand up and walk towards the ingredients on the shelves. If I remember correctly my potion requires snake fangs, standard ingredient, and wolfsbane. I gather all that in my hand and set it down near my cauldron. Before I start, I take a moment. I’m missing something, I’m sure there was another ingredient.
Wolfsbane, check.
Snake fangs, six of them.
I have the measures of Standard ingredient.
There’s one more, I try to look around the room. Then I remember that we get an automatic failing grade if caught cheating. There’s no way I’ll let my grade drop like that. Over something so small and inconvenient too. Making my way to the shelves, I scan over the ingredients over and over again. Trying to see if any of the names pop out to me.
No.
Definitely not.
That’s an ingredient?
I don’t even want to know how that one was obtained.
This one, of course it’s this one. I even remember putting a star next to the name in my notebook. Dried Billwig stings, I believe six of them were needed. All that time wasted. Hurrying to my seat I get to work. The time goes by quickly, all that could be heard was the sizzling and whooshing of our potions. I almost knocked down my vials a couple of times. Someone actually did, their time spent on cleaning the glass off the floor. After heating the first three ingredients, I crush them together in the mortar. Then stir clockwise from what I recall, three times specifically. Finally, I wave my wand over then leave it to brew.
Just in time from the looks of it. I glance at Devyn to see how it went for her, and she looks pretty proud of herself. I take that as a blessing that it didn’t blow up this time of round. I’m guessing she took our advice and did it her own way.
A student raises his hand, “May we leave?”
“Oh yes yes, go ahead. No assignments for the first day, only the potion you made in class.”
Before I leave the classroom I examine Riddle’s station. He already left the room. His potion looks similar to how mine turned out, his workspace thoroughly cleaned. Everything used properly placed back to where it should be. Perfectly spotless, not a single speck of dust in sight. All done without magic too, surprising for someone born into the wizarding world. When I mentioned that I met him once, it wasn’t much of anything. The only way I know how he really acts is through other people. Much admire his intelligence and strong will. Others are jealous of the potential he holds for the future.
Girls are already trying to slip love potions into his drinks. I would feel bad if he wasn’t so rude to them. Only just before touching the disrespectful line. He almost drank one of their attempts before. Wouldn’t want to imagine how that turned out. Tom riddle, in love. That man probably doesn’t know the feeling of happiness, let alone love. I feel bad for his future girlfriend, she’s going to have to deal with a handful of baggage.

“How much do you want to bet Nott will demolish him?” A Gryffindor girl to my left whispers.
Nott, part of Riddle’s group from what I’ve seen. They all eat lunch together and talk to one another so it’s a reasonable guess. Very talented duellist, one of the bests here.
“I hate to admit it, but he’ll definitely win this. I’ll still have hope for the other guy though,” I whisper back trying not to sound mean.
Nott and the other Slytherin boy are up right now. It’s a courtesy for the audience to stay quiet until someone casts the first attack or defense. From then on all you will hear is shouting of encouragement and the opposite. Nott’s eyes are focused, zoning in on the opponent before him. His wand is steady, mouth slightly parted to breathe through better. Whole-body alert and tense waiting for something. From what I'm getting, I believe he’s waiting for the Slytherin boy to go first. Nott casts spells quickly and thinks them through decently. Sometimes you're not able to create a counter-spell quick enough to defend yourself against him.
Riddle’s group and himself are near the corner of the platform. All seemingly analyzing every breath he inhales and exhales. I finally hear the whoosh of a wand and a whiz of light fly past the platform. The glow from the spell lighting our faces for a millisecond. Nott quickly counters that spell and moves to cast his own. Magic flies across the platform, all of our eyes going back and forth like a ping-pong match. The Slytherin boy starts breaking a sweat. He’s only been able to get a couple of offensive spells in there, most of his plays spent throwing off Nott’s. If he doesn’t turn the battle soon, the outcome will become very clear.
It is a little less exciting since we only know a handful of spells. So whatever you know from your own studies you use in these duels. When we move up the years the class will become more serious and dangerous. Right now it’s just to teach us how to counter and cast quickly. The proper etiquette and movement. You use spells that you know, they aren’t supposed to harm someone. Either stun them, make them fly back, or disarm. Most of those spells require a little of a higher level, most of us not even knowing of its existence yet. So what’s mostly cast between competitors is a basic spell to exert force. That force should be aimed for the legs, or the wand to disarm that way. The way someone can win here is to make their knees or hands touch the floor, or disarm their wand. As I mentioned, it will get more intense as time goes by. We're only just starting 3rd year right now, a lot more charms will be learned later on.
I shake my head to get rid of any lingering thoughts. My attention goes right back to the duel taking place in front of me. Nott quickly aims a spell at the knees and manages to bring the other boy to his knees.
“Mr. Nott wins this duel! Please step off the platform, we will evaluate your performance.”
During the practice duels today, you watch it, think of ways to help the person improve, and point out things they might have done wrong. At the end, the professor picks people raising their hands to allow them to give their feedback. Participating is part of the grade you get in here. I personally prefer giving feedback then dueling. I’m not the best at casting, I do give out good defense spells though. That should mean something, I hope.
“Let’s start with Nott, does anyone have feedback for him?”
A couple of people spread apart raised their hands. One by one they all ask questions and give feedback. They mention his feet and posture when he stands. Arms fully stretched out where it would have been more flexible to bend it slightly. When he casts he shouldn’t be walking backward. They shortly switch to the other boy’s questions and feedback. The way he never gave himself the opening to cast an offensive spell often. He would move around his area a lot. Almost slipping off the stage during one of those movements. Tom and his group privately discussed with one another. They’re probably giving Nott their own feedback and suggestions privately.
“Now, Riddle I want you to come up and…,” he scans the room for another student. After some time he points his finger at me. “You.”
I could have had a smooth sailing class. I was so close to not having to go up there. My hands start sweating a bit, my anxiety jumbling my thoughts together. Riddle’s already up there and soon to be on his side of the platform. Taking his wand out and wandering his fingers over the design. I gulp, a big toad stuck in my throat. I wipe my hands on my robe and start up the stairs. Riddle seems as unbothered as ever. We bow, turn, then walk ten paces back. During this time I try predicting who will cast first. I don’t know him very well, I’ve also never seen him duel.
I take my dueling stance and wait for the signal to start. Hoping, praying, that I don’t embarrass myself. Slipping up is not allowed, not when going against him.

‘Letter 355’ was written in big letters on the front of the envelope. You sat on the bed as you tore the sealed flap open. Vernon has been writing you small notes ever since your 6th year anniversary. This is the first real letter you’ve gotten because before, it was simple post-it notes, and as your 7th year together approaches, you can’t help but wonder what he has planned this time.
You took out the paper, unfolded it and scanned his messy handwriting. You smiled as your fingertips touched the ink on the paper. You began to read:
Ma Belle,
I hope you will have a wonderful day today. Are you surprised you’re getting a letter instead of a post-it note? You probably are lol. Anyway, I just wanted to say I’m sorry for the messy handwriting, I had to leave early this morning and didn’t have time to write neatly, or spell correctly so if you see some typos, you didn’t (cue the clown emoji).
Also, a heads up, I may be returning home late due to the guys wanting to hang out, so if you need me, call me. And yes, I’ll text you if I have to stay at one of their apartments and I’ll text you when I leave. I know the drill ;)
Please be safe today, and you know MY drill don’t you? It’s the exact same thing I said above, HA! So, text me when you leave the house and when you arrive at work. I can’t wait to see you again (even though we live together). I love you Ma Belle. Just 10 more days!
Love, Vernon
You smiled at the nickname he had given you as you felt the familiar rush of fireworks erupt in your stomach, hugging the letter close to your chest. You couldn’t believe how lucky you were to have a man like Vernon. He took time out of his day for almost a year just to write you a letter every morning so you could wake up happy. He is an absolute crazy man for doing this.
You folded up the letter and carefully placed it back in the envelope. You went to your desk, grabbing the photobook on the shelf and opened it, seeing where you kept all his notes for the past year. You flipped to a page and inserted the letter in an empty slot. You closed the book and placed it on the shelf once more, looking at it as you thought about how he was capable of doing something like this for a whole year, who knows what he has planned for your anniversary.
~
Vernon has a lot planned actually. He is going to keep writing you letters every morning before he goes to work, but on the day of your anniversary, it’s going to be a little different and he couldn’t wait for that day to come.
He walked alone, glancing into the stores that he passed as he waited for the call. He turned around and began to head back to where he came from before, feeling the buzzing of his phone. He looked at the screen and answered.
“Hey Shua, are you guys done?” He bit his lower lip a bit, hoping they got what he had asked for. He heard his friend sigh on the other end of the line.
“Hell yeah we got it.” Letting out a breath of relief, he nodded as he listened to Joshua tell him to return back to the car so they could go and eat. Hanging up, he walked quickly back to meet up with his friends.
He could not wait for the day to come.
//
You saw ‘Letter 360’ taped to the refrigerator when you reached the kitchen to prepare yourself breakfast. You had only received small notes like before ever since ‘Letter 355’, so you were a bit taken aback because you simply thought that he wrote a long letter due to his busy schedule that day. You weren’t sure what to expect of this though as he told you the night prior that he would be home before dinner.
You tore the flap of the envelope and took out the paper, quickly unfolding it as you began to read his messy handwriting:
Ma Belle,
Did you sleep well last night? I hope so because then I’ll feel bad for not being able to be there with you to make you feel better :( But!!! I hope this will make your morning a bit brighter if it wasn’t already. Inside the microwave are some pancakes that I made Mingyu bring for me because I would’ve burnt them. But they’re probably cold so you have to heat it up. There were 4 in total but I was hungry and ate one hehe.
Anyway, I’ll see you in a few hours, Ma Belle. Stay safe at work and text me! I love you!
Love, Vernon
You felt the warmth creep up in your chest as you grinned, rereading the letter again. Although this made you incredibly happy, you couldn’t help but think about what you could do better for Vernon in this relationship. You never want him to feel as if he was the only one putting effort.
After making a quick decision, you put the letter back in the envelope and brought it to your room, placing it in an empty slot of the photobook. You went back out to the kitchen and heated up the pancakes Vernon had mentioned, deciding that you will make a small trip to the store after having breakfast.
~
Unknowingly, you walked down the same path Vernon had the day he went out with his friends secretly without telling you. You passed multiple stores as you racked your brain for some sort of idea on what to get him. You already had your anniversary gift planned out for him, but that’s a secret that you have been keeping from him since day one. You just hope he doesn’t go searching for the photobook.
You walked slowly, glancing into stores to get some sort of idea before stopping in front of a jewelry store. You hesitated knowing that Vernon never wanted you to spend so much money on him, but look at where you are. You decide to tell him it’s an anniversary gift instead of just giving it to him tonight so that way he wouldn’t get mad at you. Yeah, that’s a better plan.
As you enter the store, your eyes immediately go to the locked glass cases of beautiful jewelry. Maybe you should’ve thought this through because you had no idea what to get him. Looks like guessing is the best bet for you.
//
You made it home from work just before Vernon got home. Quickly, you went to your room and took the box out of the bag and placed it behind the photobook. You disposed of the bag, making sure that Vernon wouldn’t spot any evidence of the fact that you spent a lot of money on him.
You were now in the kitchen, looking to prepare something for dinner before the front door opened with your boyfriend coming in with bags in his hand. You smiled and quickly met him at the door, grabbing a few bags before kissing his cheek.
“You bought dinner? I was planning to make something for you.” He smiled warmly and led you to the dining room, placing the bags on the table. He quickly kissed your cheek before holding one of your hands.
“Ma Belle~” The teasing sound of his voice echoed in your ears as you smiled widely, shying away a bit before you felt the tips of his fingers move your head to face his again, “You don’t have to cook for me tonight. Let’s just relax and enjoy the food I bought, how does that sound?” You stared into his hypnotizing eyes, the warmth in your chest rising as you nodded your head with a smile.
“Okay! Let's get some plates!”
//
You woke up to an empty bed, confused as to why Vernon wasn’t next to you. Sitting up straight, you looked at your night stand, searching for the familiar post-it note or envelope. You thought that maybe it was something similar to the letter 5 days ago where you found it taped to the fridge.
You stretched out your arms, yawning in the process as you heard your phone buzz on the table. Unplugging it, you opened your messages and spotted a familiar name. Boo Seungkwan.
‘You home?’ You didn’t know why he was texting you at this time, he was usually asleep. And he knows that it’s your anniversary with Vernon today, so you were confused as to why he was asking if you were home.
‘No. I’m with Vernon.’ Obviously you lied to try and get out of any sort of event he may have planned just so you can eat a small breakfast and get ready for the day. You just have to find Vernon’s note.
‘Bullshit. I’m with Vernon right now.’ Your eyes widened, a scowl appearing on your face as you questioned why Vernon was with Seungkwan instead of you. ‘Why are you with Vernon? Where are you guys?’
On the other side of the phone, Seungkwan was panicking. He knew that you weren’t with Vernon because Vernon was with Joshua setting up everything for your anniversary.
He looked around the room, thinking of an answer to come up with before Chan walked in, “Seungkwan? What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be distracting them for Vernon?” He tossed his phone to the younger, eyes filled with fear and uneasiness. Chan read the messages and laughed, “Vernon will kill you if you don’t pull this off. Good luck!” Seungkwan groaned as he decided to just show up at your home and keep you occupied.
You stared at the messages, expecting him to answer but received nothing. You sighed and just locked your phone, mind now set on looking for the letter. Every step you took to look into a room, your fingers were crossed in hopes that you would find any sort of evidence that Vernon has left for you. Plopping onto the couch, you thought that maybe he just forgot to write today, but it didn’t make sense since he wrote everyday for a whole year without forgetting. Even in previous letters, he would count down the days until it was your anniversary. It just didn’t make any sense.
You heard the doorbell ring, an ounce of hope in your heart as you thought that it could be Vernon. He has a key to the house. You sighed and got up from the couch as you went to the front door, unlocking it with a click and opening it.
Your eyes met Seungkwan’s and it immediately turned into a glare. “I thought you were with Vernon, hm?” He grinned sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck.
“I lied.”
“I can see that.” You stepped to the side, making way for him to enter your house. You watched him sit on the couch as you closed the door and locked it. “What are you doing here, Seungkwan?”
“Uhm— Did you eat breakfast?” You saw his hands wipe down against his jeans, a nervous habit he had that you picked up on throughout your years of friendship.
“No I didn’t. And you avoided my question—”
“You haven’t eaten?” He stood up abruptly, determined to keep you distracted until lunch time, “Come on, lets cook some breakfast for you!” He turned towards the kitchen with you following closely after him after rolling your eyes and just letting it slide, thinking that maybe Vernon put him up to this.
//
Seungkwan sighed in content after finishing up his food, his eyes moving to meet your hard ones. “Seungkwan,” His eyes went to look around the room, just as long as they weren’t at you, “Seungkwan, stop avoiding eye contact.” He looked back at you, his lips pursed and throat feeling dry. “I have so many questions, but I won’t even bother at this point.” You shook your head and took your plate and his, bringing it to the sink and began to wash them.
As you were washing, you heard your name fall from his lips, “I can wash them, you have to go get ready.” Your head shot up, eyes looking to the side but your head staying in place.
“Get ready how? Where are we going?”
Seungkwan got up from his seat and stood next to you, “Don’t play dumb. Do you want your letter or not?” Your eyes lit up, nodding as you turned off the water and quickly went into your room to wash up and get ready.
“Thank you Seungkwan!”
//
You sat in the car with the radio gently playing in the background. A comfortable silence fell upon you and Seungkwan, who was in the driver's seat. You remembered to bring your gift as you looked at the large bag sitting on the floor between your legs. You checked the time on your phone, seeing that it was almost lunch.
“Wow, if Vernon planned a lunch, I’m glad you ate most of the breakfast food.” You out the window, giggling with Seungkwan.
“That was the whole point of me eating all the food. I had to keep you busy for a few more hours.”
You sighed and nodded your head in understanding, turning your head to look at the side of his face, “Where are we headed to anyway?”
He glanced away from the road to look at you for a split second before lifting up his hand, his pointer finger placed on his lips as he made a ‘shh’ sound. “It’s a secret.”
“Well can you tell me if it’s far? I kind of want to take a nap.”
“Go for it, but don’t get mad when I wake you up.”
//
Your eyes fluttered, feeling the cool breeze against your skin as goosebumps rose. You opened your eyes, seeing your boyfriend standing next to you with the car door open. He flashed his gummy smile, holding his hand out for you to take, “Ma Belle~”
You looked down at the floor as you placed your hand in his, stepping out of the car with your bag and present in hand. “Where have you been Vernon Chwe?”
You smiled cheekily at him to which he shrugged with a teasing smile, “I’ve been doing things.”
You began to smile, looking at your interlocked fingers as he led you to a familiar area. You scanned the place, seeing the light of the sun reflect off the little lake that you knew all too well. Your hand tightened in his grasp causing him to stop walking and to turn to look at you, “What’s wrong?” You pouted, puppy eyes boring into his as he smiled softly.
“You took me here? I thought this place became private property and people weren’t allowed to be here.” He laughed softly and brought up his hand, placing his pointer finger against his lips.
“Shhh, we’re not.” Your eyes widened as you hit him with your bag and he laughed, “I’m kidding, I talked to the owner and they were fine with it, come on, let’s go.”
He brought you over to a picnic setup, the tall tree providing you shade that can cool your down from the scorching sun. You both sat down on the blanket, looking out to the lake with the mini table in between. You sighed in content, your eyes never leaving the shining lake, “Vernon this is incredible. I’m so happy you were able to get us in here.” You looked over at your boyfriend, a smirk on his face as he held up the missing letter.
“I know you’ve been wondering where the final letter was but I don’t know if I want to give it to you just yet.” You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms. “You have to eat with me first and then I’ll give you the letter, okay?” You smiled and nodded your head happily, the thought of what could possibly be in the letter consumes your mind.
//
You finished your food with a toss of your napkin to the plate, your eyes immediately going to Vernon who was laughing softly. “I know what you’re going to ask, but first let me open my gift, please?” He pouted in which you rolled your eyes in response.
“Fine.”
You handed over the bag, biting your lip out of a nervous habit, watching him take out the tissue paper and spotting the box and photobook. He took out the photobook, looking at you with an unsure expression before opening it. Raising his eyebrows, he found every note he has written to you, and next to it is a note you have written in response.
He took a deep breath, flipping through all the pages, trying to be as slow as possible just to tease you, but no luck, “Vernon you can read it at home.” You whined next to him as he slightly glared at you,
“Hey, I just want to appreciate you.” Still, he listened and put the photobook back in the bag and then took out the box. He opened the top carefully and stared at the piece of jewelry laying inside.
He head lolled to look at you, another pout on his lips, “I told you not to buy me anything expensive.”
You giggled and nodded your head towards the bracelet, “Dig a little deeper Vernon,” He rolled his eyes at your remark of quoting the song before taking out the chain. He turned the small heart-shaped charm over and found your name next to the words ‘Your Evangeline’ engraved in it.
His grip on the chain loosened as he handed it to you, holding out his arm, “Put it on for me?” Quickly you wrapped it around his wrist and locked it in place, beaming with happiness. “I love this, I just— it’s beautiful.”
“Can I read the letter now?” He sighed in defeat as he failed to stall everything a little while longer.
“Way to ruin the sentimental mood.” He handed you the letter, watching you bounce in excitement as you prepared to rip it open.
“Wait! Read it up there, next to the lake. Pretend I’m not here, like how you would read any letter in the morning, okay?” You nodded standing up and scurried over to the lake, thinking about how weird it was that he asked you to read it at this spot. The thought left your mind the second your eyes scanned ‘Letter 365’. Your heart pounded in your ears as you ripped the flap open and pulled out the paper. You began to read:
Ma Belle,
Happy 7th year Anniversary! Can you believe it has been seven years we’ve been together? It feels so amazing. I’m sorry you had to read this through a letter, but I feel like writing it out conveyed my feelings better than when I just wing it. So, I hope you prepare yourself because this is going to be a ride full of cheese and cringe.
I remember our first date here. It was very cheesy and seemed too extravagant for a first date, but we have known each other for a few months before I asked you out, so I call it a success. Anyway, I’ll never forget the look on your face when you saw the little fairy lights light up just at the snap of my finger. You said it looked like fireflies and reminded you of Princess and the Frog. Anyway, getting back to the point, the point is, this little lake holds a place in my heart because it was all those months of me silently pining after you to finally be able to take you here, it made me realize that I love you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
Oh! Which reminds me of our first here, when we danced to the soundtrack of the movie. It’s random, I know but I don’t think you remember that. You probably won’t remember me proposing to you either, would you? Turn around Ma Belle :)
You slowly turned around, the blanket and picnic table gone, all that’s left in front of you is Vernon down on one knee holding up a small box displaying a beautiful ring. The arm holding the letter drops, your free hand coming up to slightly cover your mouth now agape. From his shaky hands to his beaming smile, the love you had for the man in front of you intensified.
He cleared his throat and took a deep breath, “So, do you remember now?” The water in your eyes that have been threatening to spill finally let go as you nodded your head, “Ma Belle~” That damn grin on his face made your knees shake, “Will you be my Evangeline and marry me?” Your legs collapsed, your knees hitting the grass as you hugged Vernon tightly, whispering ‘Yes’ into his ear.
The amount of love you felt in your heart took over as you cried silently against him. He pulled away, laughing softly as he wiped your tears and brought your hand up, slipping the ring onto your ring finger. “Hansol Vernon Chwe, no wonder you wanted to open my gift first.”
He shrugged, looking into your eyes with that same teary smile before leaning in and placing a soft yet meaningful kiss on your lips. In that magical moment, you knew that this is all for you; he is all for you and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Tumblr media
Thankyou for requesting Bas!!! ( @basilisa-scorpii ) I was a bit nervous writing this! As you are one of my favorites and are so talented. Actually i too didn’t watch many movies. Only those 10 that I mentioned. My friend was in disbelief when I told her that I didn’t watch frozen. Apparently it was a big deal for her as he almost watched every Disney princess movie.
So, its my first fic writing for the 200 followers! Please read it without having any high expectations. I may not reach them.
Pairing : Zoro X Mermaid! Reader
Word count : 3.6K (Sorry, the concept was so interesting and I couldn’t stop)
Warnings : A long ass fic written by me, read at your own risk. CRINGE ALERT!, has magic, bad action scenes, happy ending or else I’ll cry, a lost marimo.
Tumblr media
“Tsk… Lucky mermaids. They just get to go and play while I have to learn these stupid spells”, you opened the new book of spells, which had a brown cover and was very heavy. The cover had a design of a mermaid.
You started to read the spells. Being born in the clan of spells mermaid, you always thought that you were one of those unlucky mermaids who can’t just play with the fishes. You were a very young mermaid and didn’t understand the importance of them.
Growing up, these spells always helped to escape from so many troubles. You could even go to the land using these spells. Hiding your scales and turing your tail into legs.
One fine day in the ocean, while you were making preparations to go to the land, a white-haired half – octopus approached you. ‘Not again’, you sighed.
“What now Ursula? I need to leave”, Without hiding your irritation, you asked her.
“Y/N going to the land again? Why won’t you use my help? I’ll turn you into a human then you don’t have to rely on your powers and get weak every time”, she said as she twirled around you.
There are many powers that can be mastered in the spell book and your main power being in Teleporting but you did learn many other spells, including turning your tail into legs. But every thing has a counter action. The more demanding the spell, the more of a toll it pays on your body by making you weak, leading to even death. Taking your real mermaid form and taking rest in the ocean can help you regain your power.
“The princess asked me for legs and I gave her what she needed”
“The princess? Why did she ask you for legs?”
“Love, she was in love with a man, are you also in love?”
“No and I’d never do that for a silly thing as Love”
“But, you are going to Land using your powers. Aren’t you tired of it dear”
You sighed at how she never gave up on you. “Why? So that you can take my spell book or my family sapphire stone?”, your eyebrow raised with annoyance. She gulped and tried to open her mouth to say something but too late. You weren’t interested in listening to her so you snapped your fingers and Teleported to land.
You didn’t like to teleport when people were talking but you didn’t want to listen to her toxic convincing again. Like hell you needed her powers. You’d rather lose your powers then to give her your spell book or the sapphire stone, which was now, in the necklace you were wearing. It was also called as the second chance.
You went to the small house mostly made of stones. It was just had 2 rooms. You opened the box which you found in the ruined ship and wore the male clothes which were in it. After coming to the land you observed that, most of the men would be creepy when you were wearing women clothing, which lead you to throw those men away. When you wore men clothing, no one glanced at you. And you didn’t get the chance to waste your powers. So you preferred to be dressed as a man.
You took the gold coin which was actually the last one you had in the box. ‘I need to find a way to stock these’, you thought as you started to make your way into the town. Apparently, these people got super mad at you when you ate and tried to leave. They called this… money? If you remember correctly.
At first it was pure curiosity what the Land was of. But after being addicted to the food here, you couldn’t help but to come back regularly. While in the sea all it was available was sea weed and raw food. It was good but it wasn’t even comparable with the food on land. The humans had some tasty food called fruits. And they were of different varieties like mango, orange, apple, berries etc. Oh, how delicious the meat was, when it was cooked. So, you kept coming here using your powers. The food was worth it!
You headed towards the place where the old humans make food, you were their favorite customer as you always gave them a gold coin every time you visited. They were poor and the gold you gave them, helped them to even get out of the debts. You reached the place and started to eat while some people quarreled. But you didn’t care. All you looked at was the food before you. You were always given a small size powerless trident and a small sword with it. You didn’t know why they were used.
“HEY IDIOT! ARE YOU THE ONE WHO ALWAYS GIVES GOLD COINS? GIVE THEM TO ME”, someone shouted but you were too busy in eating.
“Sir please, leave our customer. That man is being very kind to us old people”, pleaded the old man but he didn’t care.
“You jerk! Why the hell are you ignoring me?”, some one slammed their hand on your table making your apple almost fall down. ‘Unforgiveable’
You glared at the man beside you as he grabbed you by the collar and pulled you up, just before he punched you, you snapped your fingers and he froze in his place. He couldn’t move. You clenched your fist and punched him in the face making him fly across the room.
Everyone stopped doing what they were doing and looked at you in disbelief. The person you punched was a strong guy who always took peoples valuables. A green haired soldier was totally stunned. ‘A person this strong was in a small town like this’, he thought. He went towards the person who was trashed by you and noticed that he was knocked out. ‘It seemed a bit different but, that guy can help a lot’, he thought. The soldier turned around to look at you but you were already leaving.
Placing the money which was required to pay on the desk, the green haired man ran in your direction. “Hey dude!! Wait a minute!”, he called to you. But you were busily eating the apple which had the pretty red colour.
‘I need to get more of these golden coins. Maybe the ship which crashed in the western side has some of these’, making plans on how to get more of these, you walked towards the shore.
You then felt a hand on your shoulder which made you to stop. Looking over your shoulder, your eyes met with black orb. The man had green hair and a scar on one of his eyes. He was muscular and well built. He had three golden coloured earrings on one of his ears.
“Hey dude! I wanna talk to you”, he said removing his hand from your shoulder. You took a bite of your apple and turned towards him. You raised one of your eye brow at him as you folded your arms.
“I am so amazed that a powerful man like you is in this small town. Actually, seeing you fight that rogue, I wanted to ask you if you’d come to the war and be a soldier, like me”, he said with a proud smile.
After listening to the weird man, You turned around and started to walk towards the shore. His smile curved into an awkward one as you walked away. “HEY!! I’m NOT DONE! LISTEN TO ME ONCE”, trying to stop you he shouted again. But as his attempts failed, he ran again and stood before you blocking your way. You glared at him because of it.
“Listen to me. I mean no harm. I’m Zoro, a solider of the Straw Hat army”, he introduced himself as he took your hand and shook it. ‘What… What a weird man’, you thought looking at him.
“You see, we want to use all the help needed to destroy the beard Kingdom. So, come with us and be a soldier of the Straw hat army”, he said.
“Why do I need to fight for your army. I don’t wanna involve in these fights”, you said sternly, speaking for the first time to the man.
“Why not? Just join us. We are fighting on the good side. We wanna give freedom to the people of beard Kingdom”, he inhaled and continued, “If you join I’ll make sure you get good food and 500 pure gold coins”. He was really determined to win the war and also claimed that he wanted to free some people.
You could get the gold coins from many ruined ships, but the way he looked at you with determination to win in eyes you couldn’t help but to sigh. “Let’s meet here tomorrow at exactly at dawn”, with that you continued to walk towards the shore.
“I never caught your name”
“Its Y/N”, you say without turning around but smirked. He was the first human you ever told your name to.
His eye clearly lit up and he grinned as he said, “I’ll waiting, Y/N”. He didn’t notice that his heart definitely did skip a beat then.
Swimming deep into the ocean, you reached your house with in 10 minutes. Before sleeping, you took the spell book and started to refer it again even though you’ve read it multiple times. You still had 12 hours till dawn and it’s be sufficient amount of time till you regain your energy.
As the first rays of sun hit the country, Zoro looked at how beautiful the sea looked. He was mesmerized by its beauty.
“Hey”, you almost startled him.
“What the… when did you come here? How did I not notice?”, he said with confusion in his eyes.
“Lets go now”
“Ye…Yeah. Let’s go”, he said leading you forward. ‘This person is hiding something’, he thought
“Hey”, you call him as he turned to look at you.
“Why are you going towards the sea?”, as soon as you said that, his cheeks turned red with embarrassment.
“Don’t tell me you don’t even know the rout-”
“I know!”, he said interrupting you and opening the map. You peaked at the map and then looked at him. He was sweating.
“Give, just give it to me”, you took the map and continued, “So where is the location”
“Here”, he pointed towards a white surface on the map. “If we go quickly-”, you tooe his hand in yours and closed your eyes, “We can reach in maybe 5 days”, he ended as you snapped your fingers. He just looks at the place before him. Your eyes open wide upon seeing the white substance in front of you. Your hands hug you as the place was very cool but you were truly in awe by the view.
But Zoro was actually speechless. “What? How? Why? When? Its not even been 5 seconds”, he screamed and continued, “What are you actually? Are you using some sort of Magic?”, he then sneezed.
“I used a spell. Now don’t make a fuss about it. Anyone can do it”, you replied
“NO ONE CAN DO IT!”, he screamed again only for you to ignore.
“What is this white substance”, you asked him as you slowly crouch down and touch it. It was soft and very cold, Making your hand numb. But you were amazed by it.
“Its snow. Don’t do that, your hands will become numb”, he said and took your hands in his and started to rub them. You heart skipped a beat and you didn’t know why.
“Lets go. I think, I know the way from here”, he said and pulled you up with him. With your hands still in his he walked forward. Even though your knees felt weak, you kept walking. He talked about the prince and how great he was.
After 10 minutes, you both saw some men with weapons in the area. With one swift motion, Zoro attacked them and knocked them out. You were actually surprised. You didn’t even notice when he left your side and attacked them. He held three swords at a time. You never saw a person so perfectly using three swords. Oh god, he looked like a demon. He pulled the clothes from those men and handed you one. “Wear this sweater. I don’t want you to get sick”
You wore it and it felt really warm all of a sudden.
“Woah!! Its so warm, fells like Magic”, you smile pulling the sweater even closer to you.
“Tsk… you call this magic and call your spell normal. I cant understand you”, he again took your hand in his. “Don’t… Don’t get it wrong. Its only because I brought you here so its my responsibility to keep you safe”. You place your thumb on his wrist and observe that his heart beat was increasing.
“Your heart beat is increasing”, you said making him glare at you.
After walking for a while, you notice a building ahead of you. It was black in colour and had black smoke coming out from it. Suddenly Zoro stops in his tracks.
“Is it the secret base of straw-hat kingdom, you were talking about”, you asked him.
“It’s the secret base of Beard Kingdom that we are searching for past 1 month. Oh my! We found it Y/N”, he said with a smirk on his face. You snapped your fingers and made the black smoke red hoping someone from the straw hat base see it.
“No, you found it. I just waked with you. What type of shit directions you have”
“Hey! That’s not true. I… I actually was planning to search this with you. But whatever we found it!”, he grinned looking at the building.
“Don’t tell me you wanna take them on all by yourse-”
“What are you saying? I have you now! Let’s kill them Y/N”, he said taking his swords and positioning them. He was a demon. But your heart started to race. It was because of this jerk.
“Ok! Lets go”, you said and silently you both infiltrated the base. Knocking out who ever came across your way.
‘Damn it. There are a lot of people here’, you thought as your breathing became heavy and your legs gave out.
“Y/N, you okay?”, Zoro whispered getting close to you.
“I’m fine”, you said. This wasn’t the time to wine and you knew it.
“Thankyou. Its dawn and everyone are mostly sleeping. So lets just finish this off and leave”, he said as he placed his hand behind your waist and in one swift motion he pulled you up. Your heart skipped a beat. AGAIN. ‘This is just like the useless romance novels I read’, you thought. ‘Do I like him by any chance?’
“Lets go”, he said facing the opposite direction that you actually should go.
“We need to go this way”, you said to him as he blushed and walked in the correct direction. ‘Definitely not’, you concluded and continued to trash the soldiers in the way. You were late once and a bullet hit your shoulder. Still you didn’t give up.
“Y/N! I’m sorry, I’ll make sure to get you treated by our doctor”, Zoro shouted as he slashed another person, who was twice as big as him.
After a while, you knew, you really needed the ocean. Your body was getting weaker. Teleporting to a really far place with another person, being hit by a bullet and continuously knocking out these strong ass soldiers is really getting hectic.
“You did great Y/N, its okay. Leave now, ill take care of the rest!”, Zoro said but you got determined even more to fight.
“What? I don’t take orders, especially from humans. Lets see who gets more knockouts”, you said. Zoro didn’t know if he should be happy that you didn’t give up or be concerned that you called him a human? So were you not one?
Snapping fingers, you teleported Zoro from one enemy to another and sometimes yourself to win over the enemies. Your shoulder was turning into a shade of purple, but you were too busy to notice. He soon got used to your help. “You make one hell of a partner!”, Zoro said looking at you as he stood on a pipe which was approximately 10 feet above you. You smirked as a big sound made you to look at the strong wooden door.
“WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE!”, A man with a big beard shouted. You snapped your fingers and Zoro was beside you in a second.
“That’s Beard. We need to destroy him”, Zoro mumbled as he proceeded to run further. You were ready to go with him but your vision completely became black and you fell to the ground.
“Y/N!”, Zoro called out to you but you didn’t wake up. You could hear him. You wanted tell him to escape. Then you heard an explosion.
“BEARD!!! I’LL KICK YOUR ASS!!”, an unfamiliar voice was heard.
“Jeez Luffy! Could you hold your horses?”
“NAMI!!!! I’m Scared!”
“Shut up Ussop! We need to protect the peopl- Ladies! *ahem*”
That was too late. Luffy was already fighting with Beard at this point. With the prince fighting, all Straw hat soldiers started to fight with Beard Army.
“Y/N! Y/N Wake up!! Please wake up!”, Zoro took your body in his arms and shook you trying to wake you up.
‘I want to see you one last time’, you thought before your hearing also faded away.
“Please wake up. Don’t die”, he shook you like crazy.
“Don’t do that Zoro! Let me take a look at the wound”
Handing you over, Zoro clenched his jaw. “Please don’t let him die”, he said and positioned himself.
“ASHURA”, he said and went full demon mode on the Beard Soldiers.
After winning over the Beard army everyone was really relieved. But they didn’t celebrate. Knowing one of their soldier was in a critical position.
The doctor checked your pulse and you weren’t alive. He sighed and got up. Covering you with a blanket, he walked out.
“How is he?”, Zoro asked as soon as the doctor stepped out.
“That was a girl and sadly her pulse stopped”, the doctor replied only for Zoro to grab his collar and ask again. “What did you say? It cant be happening. He i mean She cant die, do something”
“I’ve tried everything, I’m sorry”, the doctor said and Zoro let go of him.
He went inside the room to find you covered with a blanket. He pulled the blanket down to see your face again. He sat beside you and took your hand in his.
“I’m sorry. I made you come here even when you clearly didn’t want to. I am sorry”, he apologized holding your hand tightly. “Is there any spell to bring you back. If there is, I wish you to come back, please get a second chance”
Then he saw the sapphire necklace glow. He was shocked at this. If anyone would’ve told him that magic existed a few days earlier, he’d have brushed it off. But after seeing you, he believes in it.
Just when you felt that you were surrounded with nothing but light, your ocean coloured necklace glowed, as if it was calling you back. You opened your eyes and could see light and also a person with green hair. His face lit with happiness and he hugged you.
“Zo...ro”, you called as he pulled back to look at you.
“Y/N! You are alive!”, he said as he took your hand and kissed it.
“You!! You Human! How could you!”, your cheeks turned pink at his actions.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you were a girl?”
“I never said that I were a boy”
“You are alive again so I’ll let it slide for now, also that stone and those scales on your cheek”, he said and you snapped your fingers to hide the scales.
“Whatever… I saw that you cried when I died”, you blabbered but it turned out to be true as his cheeks turned red.
“I did not”, he tried to hide his embarrassment but failed. You chuckled at his reaction and he smiled at you.
“EHHH!!!! YOU ARE ALIVE!!!!”, the doctor screamed looking at you then suddenly a weird guy with a straw hat came in beaming with energy.
“SUGOI!!! You are alive! then we all can celebrate on the occasion of you being alive and also winning the war!”, he said coming towards you.
“I guess… Thanks”
“Show me your powers when you get well okay!”, he said as he gave you a wide smile and left.
“Was he the prince Luffy that you are so fond of”, Zoro nodded
“He is the man worthy to become a King. But tell me this, are you a fish?”
“Actually, that’s not totally wrong. I’ll tell you what you need to know. Let’s teleport again after some time.”
The next day.
“Its… Its actually pretty cool. I never thought I’d see a half fish and half human”, Zoro said as he tugged on your tail.
“Ouch! Be careful. The tail can be strong but it is also very sensitive, and can you please start using the word mermaid”, you said splashing water on him.
“So, tell me. How strong are the mermaids? Are they all as strong as you?”, he curiously asked not hiding the intent to fight. You chuckled and started to tell him about the creatures of the ocean. But its just been 3 days since you met him, but you two already had a.... weird connection.
Zoro tucked a strand of hair behind your ear and looked into your eyes. The timing was so perfect. Maybe it was because he was there. You moved closer to kiss him and he also returned it. Maybe the mermaid princess wasn’t totally wrong to choose love…
