there's about an 11 year difference between them (Miles is 14, Peter is 25), so it's a lot more like the older brother type of relationship that Peter has with Tim (despite Tim being his uncle). Peter has mentored(ish) other young heroes by this point (mostly in the Bats' universe) but since Miles is another Spider-Man, Peter takes up most of the responsibility in making sure Miles is safe and teaching him the ropes. That's HIS sassy child genius, thank you, and he's not a sidekick, he's Spider-Man.

He was also adamant that Miles tell his parents immediately, and gets along great with Rio and Jeff.

Which is HILARIOUS to me because at this point in time, Peter has built up a persona for the public eye just like the Bats did. In Rio and Jeff's eyes, they're gobsmacked that the clumsy, scatterbrained, and "scaredy-cat" kid that Tony Stark adopted a while ago is Spider-Man. (Technically, none of this is a lie. Because Peter is a terrible liar unless it's For the Jokes, and often comes across this way even if he hadn't meant to.) They're wondering how he pulled that off since he's the same age as Spider-Man, who is known to be an Avenger, and associates in the same circles as Peter. It helps that Peter and Spider-Man have been in a social media war, and that Peter works at the Daily Bugle that is known for disliking Spider-Man. Peter's been taking lessons for years atp to keep his identity safe. Which is also bonus points to Peter, because the two can tell that secret identities mean everything to him, but he told them who he was in a heartbeat (literally the very first thing he did when he found Miles).

In other words: Peter was ecstatic to become a teacher for his own matching superhero kid and it's one of the most important bonds in his life. That's his baby brother now!!

I think the newer lore where Gregory was also controlled by Glitchtrap (and seems to some degree still remember that) means that he would sympathize more with Vanessa. I also just don't see him having panic attacks around Vanessa -- he doesn't show many signs of fear or terror during SB, and goes out of his way specifically to free her

Oh yeah the GGY thing. Never truly looked into that but I know more about it than the average person who hasn't seen it.

So yeah that makes him forgiving Vanessa way more plausible, definitely. Trusting her is a different story entirely. I mean, that just gives him similar trauma to how I described Vanessa, in which case both of them have seen the other kill, both of them knows that their own hands have taken lives. Would they be able to trust each other not to do it again just because it's all they've known for so long? Would they be able to trust themselves that he's well and truly gone?

The post was about Gregory and Vanessa being like brother and sister. If you include GGY, I guess it could work? They stick together in the aftermath of a traumatic experience where the only people who know the full scope of what they went through is each other? It really depends on how you characterize them. I personally wouldn't. (Partially because most times people write big-sister-Vanessa she gets like. Infantalized??? Why do people write her like she's 16 sometimes... like cmon its not that hard to write age gap siblings) another part is, again, How Vanessa contributed to his own trauma which would take time and effort to move past no matter how brave or sympathetic you are. Trauma isn't something you can rationalize away.

Honestly if you're going found family, aunt and nephew would still be a better relationship dynamic for them me thinks, but that's just personal preference. Maybe a cool gay aunt if you're including GGY, which is definitely closer than I judged earlier.

Never thought about Gregory purposefully freeing Vanny, I'll have to think on that cuz that has some implications that change things. (Typically, in the fanfics I read, freeing her is an accident)

i think one of the things i always found most stressful with dealing with my sister is the way she had this self-martyring attitude to all her relationships where she'd act like she was the only one putting any effort in and that everyone else was taking advantage of her and god it is such an unpleasant and anxiety inducing vibe to be around. like you never knew if accepting her generosity and kindness would result in her resenting you and lashing out and it was very hard to deal with

Weird mun fact, i do have very rare rare dreams of the future. Havent had one in awhile, but i do sometimes get a very realistic dream, go "oh. Huh." And then later on years later it happens irl lmao. I also have like..preset images in my head that i had since i was weeee bitty and they were future stuff.

There’s this really cute girl at school and we keep on talking, but I don’t know how to tell if she’s in to me or if she’s just very friendly and how do I ask her out I don’t know how to do this

i also relate to this situation because i had a MASSIVE crush on a girl in high school (my best friend of all people) and, well, it was sort of twisty but it certainly gave me some insight for sure!

as with having a crush on anyone, it can be difficult to determine whether they’re flirting or just friendly, especially if you aren’t sure of their sexuality/type — and in situations of girl/girl or guy/guy, it can be even harder.

there are some subtle cues and such that you can be on the lookout for, but please keep in mind that as everyone is different, these cues may not mean the same for everyone, but here’s some pretty big ones:

1. eyes. pay attention to her eyes. depending on your level of friendship and how well you know each other, if she does return your feelings, her eyes can show that. from my experience, when you’re first getting to know someone and they develop a crush, they may be a little more on the shy side and not very good with eye contact. if she’s more of a confident type, she may be more assertive with eye contact, so much so that it might make you feel shy instead. and if she’s comfortable with you and her feelings but unsure of how to approach it, she may seem to be expectant (such as hanging on to your words or by frequent eye connection.)

also, for the most part, someone with a crush will want to pay more attention to said crush, and their bodies can indicate their interest; such as facing towards you when you talk or listening very intently, or you may even find that when in a group your eyes meet theirs more frequently than with anyone else (because they’re always looking at you pookie!)

2. she may speak to you a little differently. this can come in many forms, such as maybe she cracks more jokes around you, talks a little louder, or engages you a lot more in back and forth conversation. or, on the other end of the spectrum, she may talk more softly or be a bit more reserved with the information she hands out (this in particular tends to happen to those who may be self-conscious or insecure as they don’t want to reveal a bit of information about themselves that could turn you off of them.) by sort of analyzing the way she speaks with others vs. how she speaks with you, you may be able to grasp a vague feel of how she could feel for you compared to others.

3. she matches your energy. this one can be a little tricky and easily misconstrued. some people simply click really well and seem to be on the exact same wavelength, but there’s not romantic feelings involved at all and it’s purely a friend/sisterly sort of bond. the way to differentiate is to subtly tilt the direction of your conversation — don’t go overboard with it, but something subtle will be okay. like, if your conversation ever wanders into the topic of romance, you could drop a couple of hints. if she responds positively or with a semblance of the same energy (i.e, flirting back and not changing the topic.) i’m genuinely not good at flirting at all, but there are a ton of articles and such online that list good, subtle flirts that won’t make someone feel too pressured or pursued (but if that person wants to be pursued by you, then they’ll certainly take it the intended way!)

back during my crush, i was able to gauge her feelings towards me simply by these factors. when someone isn’t blatant or upfront with how they feel, it can be really difficult to discern if they feel the same as you — and unfortunately, the only way to ever know for sure is to ask.

on that token, the best advice i can give is take it at the pace you’re most comfortable with. don’t let impatience or fear grip you, and try your best to go with the flow. in most cases, you’ll follow the direction you’re meant to take — and your instincts are your best friend, trust me on that.

and another important thing to remember is to not become so wrapped up in it that you make yourself unstable. i made that mistake; i was so in love with this girl (who was painfully aware of my feelings and just drug me along essentially, but that’s a story time for anyone who wants to hear it lol) and i tried my best to win her love. it made me miserable and anxious and i completely neglected myself in the process. so please always look after yourself and cut off anything that is negative or unhealthy. and if things don’t work out, please don’t feel discouraged; there are plenty of girls/guys/people that will return your feelings down the road, and you’ve got your whole life ahead of you ❤️

anywho, i really hope that this was helpful in some way; i’m not very experienced in the act of giving advice, but i’ve been given advice a lot, and i’ve found that the advice rooted in personal experience always helped me much more, so that’s what i tried to do here — please don’t ever hesitate to drop in any time you need, i will always respond and help as quickly as i can ❤️🫶
