Do not use my art to promote hate-speech or hate-movements against any group or form of identity. My space is meant to be a comfort, please do not take that away from me and the people in my community!

Do not act rude if I deny your offer or deny your commission! If desired, you may ask why politely and privately!

Do not steal or offer on MY OCs on my toyhouse. The shop folder is the only one I will allow offers on. This is not a horrendous offense, it just makes me uncomfy is all!

Please do not buy to immediately resell! It’s extremely disheartening.

Please do not resell for higher than the price bought! It’s also really demotivating. If you commissioned extra art of the character, you may add the price paid for the commissions to the price you bought the adoptable for.

Do not be rude and try to argue with other bidders or me when an adopt has been sold. I take holds as well as auto-buys, but if another bidder got to an adopt before you, I will not indulge you at the expense of another person! If desired, you can inform me of the adopt you wanted and I will try to design more like it!

Do not use my OCs for commercial purposes unless it has been discussed and the appropriate fee has been added! This means any merch or products sold for money with designs you purchase from me must be disclosed in the initial purchase! If in the future after bought you want to make products with a design you got from me, please inform me!

Do not use characters that you purchase for hateful or harmful content. This includes incest + n0nc0n + p3d()philia + racism + homophobia! That said, I am NOT responsible for what people do with my designs.

Credit me for the design! Inform me if you have a ToyHouse and the credit will always be there, but if on other platforms please credit me with a link to my profile or carrd! This includes character postings as well as applications for projects!

The fine print:

- The splash screen requirement will only be removed when the LTS release next year comes out (usually June)

- This is also when the other terms go into effect, but folks who currently own plus/pro licenses won't be affected till then anyways. A non trivial number of folks operated with a plus license specifically to remove the splash screen, so this is good.

- Unity Engine (the tools and editor) will have always online DRM with a 30 day window for devs regardless of their license. This, however, is no different from the DRM given to current Plus and Pro subscribers.

- Thank fuck VRChat and Silksong are safe now

- WebGL experiences are still liable, but WebGL experiences hardly *ever* cross 1mn+ in revenue, and beyond that, 2.5% is what it is.

Honestly, I *could* get behind those terms for now as someone who did have a fair amount of their project already done in the engine and move onto something else later because of the situation I personally am in. That said, I don't trust them one bit, but it is a situation I am in 🤷

As with any business decision (yes, choice of engine is also a business decision), wait for the TOS! It's still "trust me bro" if it's not in the TOS!

indie games are safe!!

good news! unity has walked back a lot of the runtime fee!

they made a blog post outlining their new terms, the link is here. but if you want a sparknotes version, here's the highlights:

1. the runtime fee is not retroactive. previously released games are safe.

2. the fee only applies to the next major version of unity. developers can choose not to upgrade if they don't want do deal with it.

3. the fee is opt-in and number of installs is self-reported. if they'd prefer, developers can instead pay a 2.5% revenue share. (for reference, unreal is 4%.)

4. interestingly, the splash screen is being completely removed. this is probably a way to improve their reputation.

overall, this is a HUGE improvement! but, if I remember right, there was not any revenue share before, so, we are not at the same point we started. unity will still be taking a larger cut of developers' revenue if they choose to use newer features. but, it is nowhere near as drastic as we thought it would be.

overall, I think we're in a stable spot now, but I also think unity has lost most if not all of the trust it had. especially with indies. there has already been a mass exodus, and I kinda hope that will keep going.
