I love the new characters on OMITB but…
I really miss a lot of characters from the first two seasons. Of course there are the Dimases (that’s the plural of Dimas right? Lol), I’ve definitely heard people talking about how much they miss them. Mostly Theo, and hey me too. I do think there’s lots to revisit with these two. But also I ADORE Lucy! I would love to see more of Lucy. Her relationship with Charles is so unique and sweet. She sounds gen z without actually sounding like she was written by a boomer and I love her for it. She’s adorable and excitable and such a good addition to the show. I miss Will too. It’s strange how we barely got to see him in season three especially with Oliver’s medical issues. Oliver is a father and grandfather, but we barely hear him talk about them. What about Mabel’s mom? How is she doing?
I miss the other Arconia residents too. How is Nina doing with her baby and being the Arconia’s board president? How is Charles’ neighbor, Arnav Kapoor? He seemed nice and I wanted to get to know him more. What about Ndidi Idoko and Dr Grover Stanley? I mean that therapist was funny I’m sure you could do something with him.
I also wanna know about Mabel’s relationship with Oscar post season one. They were gonna be just friends but are they friends? Do they still talk? Did they have a falling out? How is he after everything?
How’s Detective William’s wife Kiara and son Keith?
What I love about the first couple seasons is how the Arconia feels like its own little world. There’s a community (of isolated people but still). Now the building feels a little emptier now we only really see Uma, Howard, and Lester. They’ve done so much to build a world here and I wanna continue living in it.

If Oliver Putnam had a nickle for every time he got his producer's son arrested for manslaughter committed via pushing someone from a high place, he'd have two nickles, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

My favorite little detail in OMITB rn is that Oliver’s actor in the movie (Zach Galifiniakis) has such an obnoxiously Greek last name—it’s such a fun little callback to the season 2 plot-line with Oliver, his son, and Teddy Dimas.
It’s also a sneaky nod to the differences between the show and podcast canon. WE as tv viewers know that Oliver isn’t Greek, and Will is probably biologically Teddy’s. But we also know Oliver lied to Teddy about his ancestry test, so he probably lied on the podcast about the results as well. Thus, the movie folks think he’s Greek.
(of course, the idea of Hollywood producers actually caring about the specific ethnicity of a white actor enough to cast a Greek guy to play Oliver is absurd, but I digress)

Thanks for your answer about Remus & Tonks!
I read both posts attentively, and yeah, I agree with pretty much everything. That plot point always baffled me, I always wondered why JKR went there. Was it a way to thwart the fandom, which was already start to annoy her at the time? IDK. I'm not judging the relationship (in Canon), I'm neither pro nor con, it's just that it always mystified me. But I like your take about Tonks being a v. realistic 23 y-o, a lot!
Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to answer. Have a lovely day! :3
Of course! You have a lovely one, too.
If we're talking about Doylist interpretations of the story — i.e. why the Author as a person whose to do something, as opposed to what's going on purely inside the text — I don't have the history to remember if Wolfstar was big enough at the time for JKR to notice or want to respond to it. Sirius dies in Book 5, which seems like enough to sink the ship in any case. My theory is that she decided during the outlining process of Book 5 that she wanted the series to end with Harry being the guardian of a child whose situation paralleled his — a war orphan whose parents were killed fighting Voldemort — to demonstrate that the story had come full-circle.
At that point, I think she looked at the characters she'd sketched out for Book 5 and decided Lupin would be the best candidate, since he would be the only person likely to name a seventeen-year-old Harry as godfather (my read of that scene is Lupin's deep in the textbook Marauder project-my-relationship-with-James-onto-Harry coping mechanism, which is why he's so shocked when the Literal Neglected Child rips him a new one for attempting to neglect his newborn child). At that point, Rowling needs to find Lupin a wife, and Tonks is one of the few female characters who's (a) unattached and (b) potentially of the age to be considering marriage and children. So she spends the next two books setting up the marriage, childbirth, and eventual martyrdom at the Battle of Hogwarts.
Like you, I don't take this as a point in favor or against their relationship; I think that most dynamics can be interesting if done well, and there was a lot to explore in Tonks and Remus. But the later books got really fucking crowded, and you see the toll in plot lines like this, where the scenes they have together just aren't enough to establish two people who are falling in love.

See, I like the idea of Teddy being the next victim because aside from the more obvious implications of:
Theo having a more prominent role
Revisiting the Theo-Will half brother thing
Theobel™
Oliver experiencing losing his oldest friend ("frenemy") to murder, and whatever that would mean for his character, having never been that close to a victim before
There's been a lot of dialogue hinting at a cold case in the building. Teddy has lived in the Arconia for what, like 50 years? And ran a criminal enterprise almost the whole time. Wouldn't it be interesting if they were investigating his murder at the same time they were investigating a cold case, trying to figure out if he was responsible for it and if that lead to his death?
