Other AiO headcannons I found tucked away in a Google doc while looking for the Jason one
I made a short list of things. There's some boring ones like
"Whit still has a landline"
Or "Connie’s birthday is on the 14th of whatever month it's in"
Then there's some wholesome ones like
"The reason Eugene loses his keys all the time is because he fidgets with them."
But then there's like the truly unhinged ones...
"Jason, Tasha, Whit, Polhouse, Burke have all killed in self defense, Jason & Tasha while agents, Whit in WII, Polhouse before he move to Odyssey, Burke doesn't like to talk about so noone really knows what happened or when but we're pretty sure it was unrelated to him being a cop."
...uh guess I was feeling edgy that day?!?!?

Honestly, I hope Buck and Jules conversion arc isn't "one becomes a Christian and the other doesn't, tension and drama ensue and they probably break up" (because FoTF probably wouldn't want to set a bad example) Like it's ok, and I think it's very plausible, but it just feels like Eugene/Katrina and Jason/Tasha and Connie/Jeff. We've just seen it so many times. (I'm hoping they convert at the same time and then have to navigate new faith with their pre-established relationship)
(If I had to guess who's going first it's Buck.)

In "a Question About Tasha" Jason says that Tasha's parents died several years ago, and Tasha says she doesn't have any family. No siblings or grandparents or aunts or uncles or cousins?
I wonder if there's more to the story. It's true some people have no other family connections. Often its some break in the past. Perhaps her parents with her grandparents.... there is also immigration, perhaps her parents came to the US from another country

From writing today -
“At least it’s all in the past now," said Saul. "I’m trying to…forget about it as much as possible. But… I can’t forget all of it, or I won’t remember what you did….”
“Try not to think about it," said Tasha. "I know we need to face it… but we also need to heal. Think of other things. To dwell on it--” Empathy mingled with deep pain shadowed her eyes, and Connie suspected she wasn’t speaking of the more recent trauma anymore. "--will just take you down a dark path. Revel in the beauty of the world… of what you have now. Don’t give them an inch of space you don’t have to. They’re not worth it. Don’t let them twist your heart. Don’t let them drag you into darkness. You’ve escaped—they didn’t keep you, so don’t stay in their prison. Be here, now. Glory in the real world, much more real than the trauma they branded you with. You can’t entirely get away from it… but as much as you can, love the real world more than you hate what they did to you.” She took a trembling breath.
He looked at her with deep gratitude, a piercing sympathy. He nodded, as if he couldn’t trust himself to speak.
She pressed a hand to his shoulder, and he didn’t flinch.
Jealousy flashed through Leila’s eyes. Then it was replaced by sorrow.

I've spent almost 40 years giving her many, many chances. She could have been completely removed from the majority of episodes and they would barely change.
Yes, that's a general failure of TNG in particular, but especially for Troi. Nearly every one of her storylines revolved around with whom she was fucking. The show never took her seriously, the show never allowed her to turn into anyone more than that, and that's is a terrible thing.
But they had many similar storylines for Tasha and Crusher, cos sexist writers. But I cared about Tasha. I was devastated when Tasha died. I cared about Beverly. Beverly was the primary reason I continued to watch the show. Gates and Denise managed to imbue their roles with something more. Something beyond the sexist stories and four words they were allowed to say. Because, frankly, I think they were far better actors than Marina. All three women had way too many moments where they were over-sexualised. They all deserved so much more. But Beverly and Tasha managed to move beyond that, for me. Because of Gates and Denise. And Troi never did.
There are a handful of episodes where Troi is significant-- that don't include her in lingerie. Where her existence matters to the story and I vaguely care if she is in the story. Maybe one or two where I cared if she was in the room. But for the most part, I couldn't have cared less if they killed her character off when they killed Tasha. In fact, I probably would have been happy about it. And almost nothing would change except a very cringy romance with Worf that never should have happened.
As far as I'm concerned, Troi was a cringy character who only *started* to get a personality was when she was forced into a Starfleet uniform by Jericho and started to have any ambition or... anything of value to offer. Yes, it helped that she was less sexualised in these episodes, but at least she started to do... something. Something besides saying 'well what do you think?' And 'how did that make you feel?' And telling the captain that a screaming person in the view-screen was 'angry.' So glad we have a betazoid. Thanks. Could have never known the screaming alien was angry or the Romulans were untrustworthy.
After nearly 40 years of watching ad nausea, I just couldn't get the energy to care about her. And I still cannot. I have rewatched TNG dozens and dozens of times. I've tried to like her. I've tried. I've tried to care about her. But more times than not, I honestly wish she was not in the show. I think the majority of the episodes would have been better without her there.
I have nothing against Marina, and I think she did as much as she could with the nothing she was given. But I don't think she was a strong enough actress to layer the character with more the way Gates and Denise did. The way Michelle Forbes did for Ro Laren. Or hell-- even the way Diana Muldaur did for Pulaski. You know, I knew more about Pulaski, And liked her 10x more in her single season than I ever cared about Troi in her 7 years plus movies plus Picard. Same with Ro. The vast majority of the time Troi was on screen, I wished it was any other character because she was almost as annoying her mother. If I could have traded to keep Ro and get rid of Troi, I wouldn't even think twice. Or Pulaski to drop Troi.
I'm glad you like Troi. Keep liking Troi. We can all agree all the women on the show deserved so much more. I am glad she has defenders, and I'm glad she has people who see her value. But I'm never going to come around on her. I'm never going to care if she is there. There are episodes where I dislike her less. And even a few where I don't care if she is there. But I cannot think of a single episode where I enjoyed her, was glad her she was there, or felt anything for her character more than annoyance or just downright dislike. And's especially if her life was in peril, not a single episode where I cared or hoped she would survive.
Again-- I am glad she has defenders, and I'm glad you enjoy her. Yay! Honestly, I really do-- not being sarcastic. But after dozens of rewatched-- maybe hundreds-- I just cannot care about her.
Oh-- PS- Picard made me hate her so much more. In fact, it made me hate all of them so much that I never want to watch TNG again. But I was apoplectic when they fridged Ro Laren. As in, I can never forgive them. Troi? Couldn't have cared less if they'd killed her.
star trek characters will literally go through the most life changing traumatic multidimensional extrasensory eldritch hell torture imaginable and then they're fine and the next episode they gotta deal with a guy who is bald

Connie in LiitA Thoughts part 2
Connie’s major character arc for the last 20 years or so has been her trying her hardest to grow up. Unfortunately for her the writers are working against her.
Her "crush" on Jason was a manifestation of that struggle. She wants to do things in her life to change. However, time and time again, she is put right back in her little soda jerk box. At this point, she has finally graduated high school, a win. However, she has no career path in place, no where she wants to move, no romantic interests to pursue. She's graduating, but her life still feels like she's in high school.
So, she manufacturers what to her appears to be the easiest way to progress: pursuit of a romantic interest.
I don't think she chose Jason consciously but if she did he is the logical choice. Jason checks all these great boxes. To paraphrase her: she likes him as a person, he is in close proximity, he's hot, Christian, not Eugene or a senior citizen.
However, there are a few drawbacks that make her not want to actively pursue him. He's her boss, the age gap, she doesn't actually love him, he's Whit’s son.
So, she decides to just stew with it. Maybe if she sits on the crush long enough something will change. Maybe she'll find someone else to turn her affections on. Maybe she will decide she actually does like him enough to confess feeling.
Tasha represents a change that puts Connie right back at the beginning. Her options are limited again. Her future path is being trimmed down back to the place she feels trapped, unable to see her own growth.
She is angry at Tasha, not for taking Jason but for taking her chance to mature. Of course, this is irrational, there most likely wasn't going to be anything that happened between her and Jason. And Connie knows this, but that doesn't make her feel better.
So, she keeps up the narrative even adding to it to try salvage what she can of the situation. Jack talks her into doing some self-reflection and she lets it go.

Yessss! Does remind me of the Lyin' Tale though
Oh! And I headcannon I wrote down a while ago. I think I can find it
Found it: Jason has Scars from just about every job he's done, including antiquing somehow. Also Tasha is very similar in this manner only she's slightly less accidents prone so a statically significant percentage of them are due to her proximity to Jason actively creating a hazardous working environment.
Random HC: Jason has a long jagged scar, idk where, maybe like his arm or something, and everyone thinks it's from his time as a secret agent because when Connie asked he said he got it in a fight and refused to elaborate. The fight was him trying to rescue a cat in a tree that didn't want to be rescued, and it scratched Jason and he fell out of the tree onto a rock when he was like eight. But he thinks it sounds cooler to say he got it in a fight.

"You what."
“I kissed her. She kissed me back and it was wonderful—I couldn’t believe she would actually want me. Then she stopped me. Rightly. But I shouldn’t have done it in the first place… She is so much more than me.”
Jason sat on the chair and swiveled toward him. “I don’t think she would see it like that. You were worth it to her. You were worth helping—she didn’t have to do it.”
“I don’t know why… after all I did to you.” He rubbed his hands. “It is you she really loves. Since she couldn’t have you…” The ghost of a smile crossed his lips. “I’m a poor substitute. If I knew she loved me, maybe… but I could never feel adequate.”
“Love isn’t about being worthy.”
