In the wake of the target pride boycott i gotta tell yall some good news. Woolworths south africa recently put up a pride display and some dude lost his shit about it on twitter so Woolworths blocked his Woolworths account so he can't use his shopper rewards and stuff

They really said 'well since you wanna boycott us let's keep you committed'

And when I saw south africans talking about it I was worried the comments would be filled with hatred but its like 10 homophobic fools and everyone else is absolutely cooking them im so proud of my people

Fruits, vegetables and wines from Israel are often wrongly labelled as “Produce in Israel” when they come from stolen Palestinian land. Boycott all produce from Israel in your supermarket and demand they are removed from shelves.

Honestly, there wasn't any way for Target to win this one. In order to not cease to exist as a company when their-- it was either their stocks or their profits-- went down 90% due to the conservative boycott, it was either abandon ship or sink with it. If they sunk with it, there wouldn't be any store TO put pride merch in. Abandon ship, and then they get boycotted by the other side of the controversy for abandoning them, when that very same side generally tends to just shake their heads at shallow corporate lipservice to allyship (which even I can't deny this was ┐⁠(⁠‘⁠～⁠`⁠;⁠)⁠┌). Damned if they did, damned if they didn't. From a self-preservation standpoint on their end, they were better off not even trying to begin with. At least the left and the right can agree now on boycotting Target, for what that accomplishes at this point...? ┐⁠(⁠‘⁠～⁠`⁠;⁠)⁠┌ I dunno, man... Either way, it's depressing to watch, for sure.

Caving to hateful extremists is why you should not be shopping at Target.

How to boycott Google (by extension Microsoft edge)

Like all pressure targets, it's impossible to avoid using Google and Microsoft all together (I know Microsoft isn't on any boycott lists, but as of late, they've been erasing accounts made in Palestine. Disgusting I know). People will always be stuck using them a little, be it with Google classroom, slides/docs/spreadsheets on either platform or emails.

Here are some ways to minimise your use of Google and Microsoft (please keep in mind I am no expert, these are just things I thought of, feel free to correct me!!!):

- New browsers. Opera GX and Firefox are both alternative browsers/search engines. Yes, like all browsers/search engines, they do advertise Amazon and Opera's default search engine is Google, but these are things that can be turned off/changed in settings (on Opera, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo! are both alternatives).

- Instead of using gmail or outlook, use Yahoo! mail (or another alternative) for new accounts and switch your email on accounts if possible. For example, Discord lets you change the email attached to your account. Yahoo! mail does advertise Google, but you can choose not to use a gmail account.

- Ask teachers if they have a Canvas instead of Google classroom (especially at the beginning of the school year/course since often times they haven't made a GC or Canvas yet). Canvas is basically Google classroom just not owner by Google.

- Instead of using Google docs on your phone, use notes or the Samsung equivalent.

Of course avoiding Google (and maybe Microsoft) all together is impossible, but these little things chip away at these megacorps who profit and fund genocide.
