Honestly, I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Am I alone in this, or do other people also experience imposter syndrome when writing? Somehow, I find it so much easier to post on Wattpad, but as soon as I consider posting on AO3, I get this knot in my stomach. It feels like I’m not good enough. I have posted there before—in fact, I have quite a few stories there—but it still gives me major anxiety. I have to push myself and pretend it’s not AO3!

What do you do to overcome this, if you’ve experienced it? Or what advice would you give anyway?

the question of fic comments is very straightforward actually. readers do not owe writers comments. writers do not owe readers fic. there is no bargain, no transaction, no debt.

fic is a gift. comments are a gift. gifts are exchanged between friends, out of love, not out of obligation.

I write for myself. I post it for others, as a gift, because their joy brings me joy. I read for myself. I comment for the author, as a gift, because their joy brings me joy. perhaps we were not friends before, but we are now, however fleetingly, because we have given each other gifts out of love.

I thought of a prompt I thought I’d pick on Howard for a change lol .The one were Howard gets lost in a woods and mark and Gary try to find him. Normally it’s mark getting lost so I thought Howard dose this time

“This is normally your thing,” Gary muttered, crunching through the fallen leaves. “You’re the one who always wanders off.”

Mark huffed, glancing around at the dense trees. “Yeah, well, Howard’s full of surprises.”

They’d been walking for hours, shouting Howard’s name, hoping to hear some sign of life. The woods were thicker than they expected, and the sun was already starting to dip behind the treetops, casting long shadows.

“What was he even doing, wandering off like that?” Gary continued, more to fill the uneasy silence than anything.

“Dunno. Howard’s got that whole 'zen' thing going on these days. Probably off meditating in the middle of nowhere,” Mark said, trying to lighten the mood but failing. He was getting nervous. It was always him who got lost. This didn’t feel right.

A sudden rustle broke through the trees, and Gary tensed. “Did you hear that?”

Mark held his breath, straining his ears. Another crack of twigs. “Howard?” he called, voice breaking slightly.

The rustling grew closer, and then—there he was. Howard emerged from the bushes, looking sheepish but unharmed.

“Where the hell have you been?” Gary demanded, relief obvious in his voice.

Howard grinned, wiping dirt off his hands. “Just… got a bit turned around. I was trying to find the perfect spot to… reflect.”

Gary rolled his eyes. “You’re as bad as Mark.”

Mark threw his arms around Howard in mock exasperation. “Mate, leave the getting-lost thing to me, yeah?”

Howard chuckled, pulling both of them into a hug. “Deal.”
