as a good omens fan i have to say i'm appalled at the fandom-wide general reaction to the go3 production pause & generally the entire gaiman situation. some of y'all are making it more than a bit too obvious that you care more over your show being made than victims of SA, & this isn't even something that shows a bit this something than some people have made explicitly clear. there's other priorities right now

it's been very hard for me to accept that this is real, despite the time ive had to come to terms with it. my dad passed away this week. he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2021 but up until very recently it hasn't been bad at all. thankfully he'd been pain free for the most part, and he was able to live life peacefully up to his 58th birthday at the end of august, but this is still just. unreal to me. it is not something i thought would happen so soon, or at all. i didn't ever think the first funeral i'd attend would be my dad's. right now this grief seems like an endless well of agony, and i'm finding it very hard to pretend like everything's okay. i know eventually it will be, but it's a lot right now. sorry for this really serious post that is not fun at all but uh. well

I truly have no patience for "criticizing a creative choice is disrespectful" as a statement. If you can't tell the difference between sending hate or harassing creators/fans, vs. saying "I didn't like this and here's why" you are an idiot. And on the flip side if you're a creator and someone says "I didn't like this" without any sort of personal attacks or hate involved, simply on the basis of critique and personal preference, and that makes you feel bad enough to stop creating then maybe you should step back and either get offline or make room for someone who has an actual creative vision that isn't "I want everyone to like me."

I was thinking back to the Halloween Event in TWST and that moment where Ace yells at Malleus for kidnapping Yuu (and other other students, he guesses) and IDK, maybe it's just how I look at Malleus' face and tone, but I could just picture him looking at Ace and thinking "Ah yes. He shall make a fine Queensguard for when I marry the Prefect"

I think you might be the only person who saw that scene and saw something other than aceyuu and o7 props for that know what you like and make everything about it, that's what I say!

I did sort of tear my hair out about this for a bit because my initial reaction was to say "I don't think Briar Valley recruits from outside countries" but that's not really true. I seem to remember that Sebek's grandpa isn't originally from Briar Valley, he's from the Sunset Savannah but he is still a fae so maybe they only make exceptions for other fae? Either way I can't really see Ace accepting a body guard position, he'd probably find it too boring ha. And I don't think Malleus would think to offer that since he would much rather leave guarding his spouse to Silver and Sebek. Lilia guarded both his parents after all, it just makes sense for him to trust his guards with his spouse too. His friends have more than proved themselves capable of such an honor.

I think the scene showed how much Malleus likes being treated like a person. He put Ace's friend in danger and Ace is chewing him out like he would anyone else, and it's someone Malleus cares about too so he's extra appreciative! It's good to know the people you care about have people around them who do too. He might not think to hire him on as a guard, but I could absolutely see him giving Ace and Deuce honorary titles as blessings because of how much he appreciates all they did for Yuu while they were at school. It is part of his role as Briar Valley's king to bestow gifts after all.

Now historical fantasy au Ace as an actual card soldier and Queensguard to Royal Riddle? That I can see.
