My wife was talking with me yesterday about how there needs to be more magical girl shows with mecha and I just started thinking how cool a Precure-style Magical Girl x Yuusha-style Super Robot story would be.
Like, the story starts out as a fairly normal magical girl type deal. Like there's three girls who are all daughters of people working a co-op vehicle start-up, and the initial episodes are about them becoming vehicle-themed magical girls to fight against an aristocratic villain group that wishes to turn back the pages of transportation development. During these initial episodes, there would be television news reports occasionally referring to scientists detecting unusual energy waves getting closer to Earth.
Then after the magical team is fully set up, the source of the energy waves appear. A group of mechanical space pirates (like the Geists from Exkaiser; love those guys) appear in order to loot the Earth of all its valuables. This would include the aristocratic villain group, so the episodes' fights would be three-ways with the magical girls only emerging victorious due to a telepathic voice informing them of the pirates' weak points.
Eventually the voice (a life form composed of energy that has come to Earth to arrest the pirates; much like Exkaiser) arrives on Earth and chooses to inhabit an experimental vehicle developed by the co-op. This also allows him to transform into a super robot. He develops an initial bond with each of the three girls, and becomes a sort-of teacher-like figure to them, although they're quick to realize that although this guy is great at giving advice and analyzing others, he's an absolute dodo head when it comes to himself (i.e., someone who would make for a great coach but a poor athlete).
Then a few episodes later, the conflict between the aristocrats and the pirates reach a climax with them causing an incident where they horrifyingly fuse together. This leads to the magical girls and super robot having a desperate battle against them where they're initially terrified to realize they can't deal any damage to the fused aristocratic pirates until one of the magical girls and the super robot accidentally do a team attack, which does inflict damage.
From there, one of the girls jump into the super robot's cockpit and starts charging him with energy. This inadvertently brings forth one of the other vehicles the co-op was working on, which then combines with the super robot, bringing forth a new form. They're still struggling in the fight however, so the super robot decides to switch control over to the magical girl, and the combination of the girl's battle tenacity and the super robot's analysis allows them to emerge victorious.
From there, it would be revealed that the other two magical girls piloting the super robot grants him two different forms as well, with him also having a super-form when all three pilot him. Then mid-way through, a rival duo of a dark magical girl and a super robot could be introduced, with the two being the daughters of the heads of the aristocratic group and the space pirates who wish to undo the fusions that occurred to their families. The rival duo eventually decides to side with the good guys, realizing the two of them alone aren't able to undue their families' afflictions. This then, of course, leads to a final form gattai composed of the two super robots, all the auxiliary vehicles, and the four magical girls piloting it together.

~ Happy Halloween 2024 ~ / Bloody Maidie Alice
So guys, as we come towards the end of Spoopie month we are also near halloween!!! Soooo I decided to come up with a silly lil art for All Hallow's Eve about Alice from Alive being a yandere maid because...well um why not??? And she is not just any maid, but she is also wearing the Wonderland Retro Coord from no other than Disney's awesome coord-collecting game Disney Magic Castle KiraKira Shining Stars!!! Overall just some lil thought just came to me to make Alice try on a coord from the series with a bit of a creepy twist OwO. If you notice i added a couple red splashes here and there to make it look like gore soooo Happy Happy Halloween!!!
P L E A S E R E A D:
The character, Kagayaki Alice is a character of the Pretty Idol Series, which RIGHTFULLY belongs to Syn Sophia, Takara Tomy Arts, and ALL of the other companies + owners of the Pretty All Friends franchise franchise, and the Wonderland Retro Coord belongs to Disney, Walt Disney Studios, Datacarddass, Bandai, and all of the other companies + owners of the Disney Magic Castle Kira Kira Shiny Stars franchise, therefore Kagayaki Alice is NOT my original character, and the Wonderland Retro Coord is not my original outfit, however this IS my original fanart.

Do NOT claim as your own(If you do any of 1-3, I will find ways to REPORT you)
This is just fanart so please do not take personally, however if I have done something that is discriminatory, please let me know IMMEDIATELY, and I promise that I will issue as soon as possible.

Japan World Heroes II Preview Night
The event started as all days do, with a nice brunch before heading out to the con.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this particular case, I scratched off my food exploration list the fabled Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, a staple of L.A. since the 1970s and one of the many reasons Chicken and Waffles has endured as a staple of American cuisine. What you see is the Carol C special, one large tender Chicken Breast with waffles and a Sunrise to drink (Its an LA thing. half Orange Juice, Half Lemonade, 100% tasty).
After that indulgence, I headed to the convention hall. Last time, we shared space with a Lego convention. This time, there was a convention for rich fat cats only next door discussing how to market and profit from *ahem* the local herbal supplements, man.
Tumblr media
Upon entry, one of the most notable things was the con had new sponsors/vendors, particularly the Legends Comics and Games shop and even Hasbro made a small contribution with a prize for the upcoming cosplay contest. This is good, this means growth by attracting more businesses and con-goers for future iterations of this still very young bi-annual fandom event.
Tumblr media
CS Toys did coverage of the con and were setting up, I didn’t see as many high profile members of the Toku community I recognized this time around as I did last time, but I thought I caught a glimpse of one or two members of Team Tokunet getting ready for the big weekend. It’s fine, we all have busy lives and sometimes things just don’t work out, what matters is the passion we feel for this genre and that alone means we were all here at least in spirit.
Given who some of our guests were, the viewing room naturally had marathons of Dekaranger and Kamen Rider Blade as well as the Space Squad films.
Tumblr media
Sentai Jackets returned to the con, this time with brand new merch!
Tumblr media
They had little 2017 Power Rangers movie keychains!
Tumblr media
And metal badges, Power Coins, pins and buckles and all other sorts of shiny shiny goods were at Henshin Vault! I got a new Time Fire/Quantum Ranger badge later on.
One highlight was that props direct from the vault of Toei Studios were on display!
Tumblr media
GingaiOh’s/Galaxy Megazord’s sword, Gavan’s Laser Blade, some of the Black RX prop belts and the Revolcane..
Tumblr media
Inside a protective case was an actual Kamen Rider Blade stunt helmet worn by Seiji Takaiwa himself! (Which was actually here before at JWH 1, but seemed more relevant given one of the celebrity star attractions)
Tumblr media
Later on, they brought out mannequins and adorned them with the garb of the Child of the Sun and the man who Walks the Path of Heaven! Rider Suits! *geeks out*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that shock of awesome, another vendor booth had a former Hollywood prop maker who was selling various oddities such as prop boots of the Yellow Ranger, old scripts of MMPR, vintage trading cards and comics, autographed photos and merch, even a production crew jacket from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (though that might have been his). He also unwisely left a stack of hundreds on his table, just saying dude, keep it in a safebox or something so its secure, I only bring it up ‘cuz you seemed like a nice guy and I wouldn’t want to see you get robbed.
Tumblr media
A gent by the callname of Nickranger was pleased when I became his first customer, I purchased the Kamen Rider 1 vs. Captain America poster and the Dekared/SPD Red Battilizer art poster. The latter was of course for Ryuji Sainei to sign later. (Mr. McLaren didn’t seem all that interested in the con based on facial expressions, so I didn’t want to be “that fan” and annoy him and gave him space. You have to be considerate of people even if they are famous.)
Lots of vintage toys and collectibles were on display, my first wallet bleeding prize was a metal Cheetah Core Medal keychain, which I wore proudly on the lanyard for the rest of the event. I also, in an oddball moment, prayed to it, hoping my desire fuels it so our precious KR Valkyrie whose totem animal she shares with the coin does not get sacrificed to the Curse of Yuriko Misaki next season.
Of course, if you were not into this stuff, there were bits of hidden prizes that might have piqued your interest at the vendor booths...
Tumblr media
Such as Neoroids from various franchises, the Proplica of Sailor Moon’s wand the Moon Stick, DBZ goodies...
Tumblr media
Stuff from Takara Tomy such as imported Transformers and Gaogaigar dolls and Chogokins, Gatchaman toys, Custom Lego Minifigs of Mazinger and various other characters, Disney pins...
Tumblr media
And Disney owned characters artistically depicted as Meisho period samurai, ninjas, soldiers, noblemen and warlords from the mind of Kamen Rider and Godzilla concept artist Takayuki Takeya!
So yes, even if you have only a passive fan love for Godzilla or none at all, there was at least one bit of plastic nostalgia or curiosity to tickle your fancy and make your checkbook scream in agony. But never despair about that, as you are supporting local business, tourism and commerce.
Tumblr media
So the first day was dedicated to scoping out the place. A few repeats also appeared such as the Super Dimension Macross Store. The most disheartening thing was the lack of Garo representation...but that was by design in compliance with the “PG-13″ family friendly rules of JWH.
Garo needs its own con or maybe it would be more welcomed in a spot at Halloween and Horror conventions where its nudity and gore would be more tolerated by its base.
Preview night was fun, but the full mayhem was about to begin....

(answer anon please) could you explain moe and maybe kawaii if you wouldn’t mind? have heard a lot said about it but not from an actual jpn speaker perspective.
Well, kawaii and moe is more of a cultural question than one to do with the language itself.
The beginning of ‘kawaii’ is often said to have begun in the 1970s with female Japanese high school students who were using mechanical pencils to write in a style that was rounded and “cutesy”, with hearts and emoticons / smiley faces, and with very fine, even lines - something that wasn’t possible with traditional brush pens used for Japanese calligraphy.
However, I think some of it dates back even further.
During the Edo period, it was common for people to carry around netsuke, which were fastener-sculptures used to close bags attached to the obi (belt of the kimono). These were often decorated like animals, mythical creatures, people, folk story characters, deities and so on.  So collecting small cute animals and/or having mascots and charms of favourite characters to decorate your personal belongings with was considered a normal and common thing.
Also take into consideration that there was the heavy influence of Disney cartoons on early anime in the 60s, particularly Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy, where characters were often drawn with very neotenous features such as large head, small nose, chubby cheeks and wide eyes.
So when companies like Sanrio came out with Hello Kitty in the mid 70s, it was an instant success because the appeal of kawaii was already there.
The same is true of Licca-chan dolls which debuted in the late 60s  - Barbie was not popular in Japan because she wasn’t considered ‘kawaii’ as she was based on an adult woman rather than having neotenous features of a little girl like Licca-chan does. She was originally designed by shoujo manga artist Miyako Maki.
Tumblr media
Takara Tomy, who licensed from Mattel in the early 80s, actually changed the design of Barbie for Japanese audiences for this reason, and eventually renamed her Jenny, though she was never as popular as Licca-chan.
Tumblr media
So I think that kawaii culture came about due to influence from popular early animation in Japan evoking that sense of cuteness, combined with the common pastime of collecting netsuke figurines which were often based around popular characters and cute animals (which led to the appeal of things like gachapon and Pokemon). Cuteness had replaced ‘beauty’ and ‘refinement’ as the ideal by the 60s. It gained popularity in the 70s with female school students new writing styles, the appearance of mascot characters like Hello Kitty, shoujo manga, and idol groups.
I think ‘moe’ was simply a continuation of this trend. Moe, meaning to bud or sprout, also relates to evoking this feeling of cuteness, though I find its origins tend to be more in male-oriented media such as bishoujo and gal games from the 80s and 90s, often with some kind of sex appeal (though more ‘pure’ or romantic love than lustful). Its origin is said to be from male 2ch users referring to female characters that they feel the need to ‘protect’. Some say that the naming comes from a specific character, such as Hotaru Tomoe or Moe Sagisawa, but those are just popular theories. Moe gained mainstream appeal when visual novel bishoujo and eroge games like Clannad and Air started getting anime adaptions, so in the early 00s, where romantic stories were being written not just for women, but for male-audiences as well.
Tumblr media
Moe is also evoked from shows like Azumanga Daioh, K-on! and Lucky Star, featuring a large female cast of cute characters and slice of life scenarios, which, while they aren’t romantic in nature like the visual novels described about in the previous paragraph, still has the male audience wanting to “protect” these cute female characters.
In terms of shows that tend to be called ‘moe for women’, I think it’s referring to something that may evoke a feeling of being attracted to a handsome or cute male character, but also wanting to protect them - something that is usually considered the ‘male’ thing to do. So that’s why you have a lot of women saying  “my son” about a male character they want to protect, as in our culture if a woman wants to protect a man, it must only be because she’s his mother, whereas if a man wants to protect a woman, it’s considered ‘normal’ or acceptable if he sees that person as a romantic partner. So it’s a bit of a double-standard, but there you go.

Cutie Reviews: Gacha Gacha Crate Sept 19
With this box it’s officially been a year that Gacha Gacha Crate began! Unfortunately they didn’t make any note of that so I feel a little disappointed they didn’t do anything special for it- not only that, but I actually didn’t like this box. I liked maybe 1 or 2 things in it and that is it. This review will probably be skimpier than the August one because of that, and I do plan on giving impute, I’ll just be leaving out the ratings.
But before I begin I wanted to address this so that I don’t sound like an ungrateful brat; please do not let this discourage you from checking out the box. The contents are not in bad shape or low quality, it’s just that you can’t be expected to like every box you know?
Also also, in other news, TokyoCatch has began it’s early stages of testing :3 and I was one of those selected to test it! It’s a lot of fun, although we can’t really win anything yet, I’ve managed to get a handful of stuff and it’s a lot of fun just practicing. I don’t want to give too much detail right now though and risk breaching my agreement to testing, so if you’re curious in that you’ll just have to stay tuned~
Tumblr media
For this month, the booklet features an article on Rilakkuma :3 including where he got his start, his concept and name, and his growing popularity; did you guys know he has a 3D animation out on Netflix?! If you want to learn more it’s called “Rilakkuma and Kaoru“.
Rilakkuma Figure
Tumblr media
It’s really plain looking right? Well that’s because this is one of those build-able figures, the gachapon comes in the characters body and you just assemble it. So far I’ve gotten Donald Duck and Gengar, and now Kiiroitori- he pretty much came pre-assembled because there’s nothing else to do to him!
That’s kind of lame, but if you like him I guess it’s okay? I’m not a fan of him at all, I mean he’s a little cute but I prefer the bears.
Pokemon Keychain
Tumblr media
This series of keychains was inspired by the remake(?) of Mewtwo Strikes Back. Besides Togepi we could get Mewtwo, Mew, Pikachu, and Dragonite, each on a thickly woven chain.
Although I won’t be using this (my phone doesn’t let me use charms on it sadly <_<), I think this is pretty cute. The paint job is pretty decent, but I do see a lot of small lining/indents and it seems the colors are a little off from their positioning. You can’t tell in the pic at all but in person it’s more obvious. I sill think it’s pretty good though.
MTV Keychain
Tumblr media
This box is kinda obsessed with keychains don’t you think?
Anyway, this one ended up surprising me, this was definitely not something I expected to see, but because I’m a sucker for food-themed things I found it a little charming. They had a cola one though, I kind of wish I got that but this is just as nice.
This is a rubbery keychain made by Takara Tomy Arts, and each keychain is inspired by past variants of the MTV logo. When I was younger I used to watch that channel a lot, but I eventually outgrew it and it’s probably been 15 years since I watched it. I can’t say I miss it because I’ve become more into things like vocaloids and foreign music, American music doesn’t really appeal to me anymore.
Sushi Mascot
Tumblr media
This was the only item I ended up really liking honestly, because it’s a squishy! These sushi sets focus on the various Sashimi plates one might find when preparing or eating sushi; like squish, shrimp, various fishies like tuna and salmon. I’m not a big sashimi type, I really don’t like fish at all, but I still think this is adorable~
The lid can be removed, but the rubbery-squishy pieces are stuck to the inside and can’t be removed. The detail on it is very nice, and the pieces are ultra-soft, this would be a fun item for re-ment or doll pictures. The only thing is that I noticed the little painted details on the shrimp and... whatever is next to it is a little messy. Oddly, those two are also a little sticky in comparison to the other two pieces.
Red Lantern
Tumblr media
Red Lanterns (Akachouchin) are often strung up along traditional Japanese drinking and eating establishments and along the streets. There was a handful of possible options to obtain this set, each with their own writing, and as you can see you get 2 stickers, which I think is nice so if you lose a sheet or something would happen, you can replace them.
Also check this out
Tumblr media
They light up like real lanterns! It’s really fun, and you can hang them up with the little loop on top of the piece. It’s a cute little thing if you like Japanese cultured items, it’s a bit too big to be used for re-ments though.
I wish we got this during summer, it would have been cute for them to do a fun summer festival themed box.
Dragonball Z Figure
Tumblr media
Figures were also kinda hot in this box huh?
Our last item is this decent Dragonball Z figure, as usual I got Goku. I love the translucent hair, it’s neat to look at (it’s also super pointy), and it’s pretty neat for his outfit to be inverted in color. You have to assemble these but they only come in 2 or 3 pieces, plus a clear stand base that is usually a mystery as to how you use it; it took me about 5 minutes to figure it out this time.
As I said, I used to love this series but I can’t say I’m that big into it now; I’d rather get adorable things with anime girls, idols, PriPara and Aikatsu, Pretty Cure, etc... I’ll probably sell this or give it to someone I know.
-----
Okay guys, that will be it for this review. I know it wasn’t really a review, but I really wasn’t feeling it and I just wanted to hurry up and get through this so that I could get back on track. I’m really, REALLY hoping I like next months better...

NOTE: Even if you don’t want to hear me blabber on about my package, please read what I included after the first GIF on this post. Thank you!
--------------------------------------------------------------
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIt’s that time again! Pokepackage!
This time it’s the Takara Tomy Mimikyu plush. It was released in Japan 24 July 2017 along with the Takara Tomy Bewear plush and the Takara Tomy Ash’s Pikachu plush. It’s a small plush, about the size of the Pokemon Center Mimikyu plush. Very nice quality. Very soft plush - so soft I could die!
Now there’s something real special about this particular Mimikyu plush. First off, its mouth, cheeks, and the squiggly eyes are embroidered. It’s not the first Mimikyu plush to have that (the Sanei Pokemon All Star Collection Mimikyu plush came out in May), but it’s so much nicer like this tbh. Iloverunningmythumbsaroundthecheeks Hopefully this won’t be the last Mimikyu plush to do that. But that’s not the super special awesome part of the plush... its head is posable! You can move it from side-to-side or move to the Busted Disguise Form pose. Not quite sure how durable the material for it is, so I’m going to be very careful with it as I have been with the Pokemon Center Primarina plush. It’s so soft it makes for an excellent cuddle buddy, but I’m not sure yet if it would be safe for sleeping with. Guess I’ll be finding that out soon.
I know the picture of the boxes are pointless, but I did want to point out the unique design they have for them. The black/grey one is Mimikyu’s and the purple one is from the Takara Tomy Snowpix. Pretty cool, huh? Makes me want to see what the others look like (pretty sure Pikachu’s is lightning strikes).
As always, JapanStuffs includes a few extra goodies in their packages. The Pikachu tissues are certainly fitting lol. The candy featuring Lunala and Solgaleo on the package is grape flavored. I dunno about you guys, but I love grape, lemon, and orange flavored candies. This was pretty good! And last, but not least, is the Mimikyu sticker designed by ZombieMiki. Seriously the cutest sticker of all from the ones she made. Be sure to check out her Patreon, Twitter, and Tumblr to see more of her art and give her some support!
But wait! There’s more!
I got a special surprise in my package. JapanStuffs was offering it on a first-come, first-serve basis on Twitter, so I dove right in for the chance and snagged it! It’s a Pokemon bath bomb from Japan. The bath bomb is red and Poke/Monster Ball-shaped. The packaging says it’s apple scented. This bath bomb includes 1 of 5 Pokemon SuMo characters you can get: Pikachu (I assume it’s Ash’s Pikachu), Rotomdex, Litten, Popplio, and Rowlet. Who will I get? Well... I’ll find out sometime. I’ll make sure to post a picture when I do.
And that’s it! Special thanks once again to JapanStuffs for the order and bath bomb, and Zombiemiki for providing the Mimikyu sticker. Now, thanks to Tumblr, I’m not gonna include any links in this post. I have seen my posts with links included in the tags, but I’m not sure if everyone can see those posts. Gonna test the waters and see if there’s a difference. PLEASE be sure to check out JapanStuffs and Zombiemiki!
Tumblr media
ALSO ALSO ALSO JapanStuffs is moving soon and needs to get rid of some stock, so they have a special sale going on their site. Give it a look, buy something if you’re interested (really good deals happening here), and tell anyone who may be interested.
AllunaJapan also has some stock needed to be sold. You like Snowpix? She’s got lots of them. She’s got Vulpix too. Check out her Twitter and store site for more info.
Please help them out any way you can, even if it’s just spreading word around!

Of coursies, just for fun, games, and most of all spreading all kinds of creativity, the usual~!!! BUT IMAGINING THESE 2 MOE LADIES SERVING U AS NEON BUNY RABBITS FRRRR OMGGGG

2017 Coord Design Contest “Contest”!!
Okay so. Gonna do it. Even though I got the new 3DS game for myself, after some thought I decided it would be more fun if we did this all together after all. (Then I don’t have to worry so much about the deadline either haha!)
So, announcing a Coord Design Contest for the Coord Design Contest!!! …Yes.
Here’s how it goes: Design 3DS Yume All-Star Live coords and submit them to me. I will use the coords of the “winners” on the arcade game and print out a Dream Tomoticket of my character in them. I will then glue that ticket to a postcard which I will then mail to Takara Tomy as an entry in this contest. Winners of THAT contest will have a chance to have their coord featured on the arcade game or the anime! (In what way is not clear at this time… I would imagine in the anime  ending or the game demo screen or something like that.)
Of course I cannot guarantee that happening, but I can guarantee I will make a video or something with some of the coords haha.  (You know what though I did actually win this contest last year so who knows!!!)
Important: This contest is for coords from the newest 3DS game Yume All Star Live ONLY. Please do not submit coords made in the other games. (Sorry, their rules not mine…..)
(Click for the other rules, etc. Please read them carefully!)
This time it’s not clear if MyCharas will be featured with the coords. But just in case (because this may result in one of my characters being seen in your coord on TV) winners will be chosen by my personal judgement and preferences. (Also I am paying for the games and stamps so there haha sorry I think it’s fair enough.) But regardless of whether my characters are featured or not, know that I will need to put your coord on one of them to make a ticket to enter the contest. So!
To enter please reblog this post with: 1.) A screenshot or clear photo of a Coord Set code  (When you go to Prism Stone Shop, then My Shop to the right, the below screen appears. The left option is to make a Coord Set, the middle option displays the codes.)
Tumblr media
2.) The name of the coord (If it’s different from the name displayed? Asking because I have to write it on the postcard.) 3.) Which of my characters should wear your coord (In case you are new here, from left to right: Luna, Hinode, Hikari as they look currently.)
Tumblr media
As of now I am not going to put any restrictions of how many coords you can submit for how many characters. (But of course I won’t choose all of them.) Not sure how many winners I will pick either!! We’ll see how it goes!!
The deadline for the real contest is December 31st. I am going to set my deadline for December 21st 2017 because once again I don’t want to worry about it and I am thinking of going to the arcade that day anyway. Don’t rush though!
Good luck!!!!

Cutie Reviews: Gacha Gacha crate July 19
Lately I’ve been wondering if I’m either being overly critical of boxes, or not critical enough. Am I just in the middle? It’s where I would like to be if anything, but I’m not sure. If you read the blog and feel like leaving a comment please do and let me know what you think.
In other news, it seems I might be missing a box. I don’t believe I ever got my June Tokyo Treat just yet, and tomorrow it’ll have been 60 days since it shipped and I can message them on it. I’m going to double-check first though, just to make sure before I do anything.

Wood Puzzles
Tumblr media
First up is this sorta common gachapon I tend to see when browsing, I can’t say I was ever tempted to get it though. I’m not a big fan of puzzles unless they are flattened cardboard pieces making a big picture- or those really pretty crystal puzzles of characters and various items. I got a handful of those that I love to admire in passing.
Anyhoozles, there are 5 different types featuring their own difficulties, and the brand is Koro Koro. Mine is “mystery difficulty“, which I found to be quite strange since as a pyramid it looks super easy to put together. In fact it came together already.
But... as it turns out, it’s not easy. I can see how it’s supposed to look, but the pieces want to keep sliding and won’t hold still. So I’m not really sure what I’m not getting...
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I’m not a big fan of this one- but I do know that there are people who like mental puzzles like these and would probably love this set. The pieces are clean and perfectly shaped, and I could see maybe coming to enjoy it for what it is if I played with it a few more times. I kinda lost interest after the first few <3<
Hungry Kirby
Tumblr media
Kirby must be trending right now because he’s been appearing a lot in these boxes; not that I’m complaining. I love Kirby. If only they would start giving us some Mario Brothers now~
This series is by Takara Tomy Arts and there are 5 possible variations you can get: 2 kirby, 2 waddle dee, and 1 chef kawasaki serving as the rare piece in the collection. The figure was assembled, although you do get to put the little fork in his hand and I assume the other figures share that feature.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Besides the collection being ultra-cute, this would be perfect for re-ment. The details are really nice. The fork seems a teensy bit flimsy but I don’t think it’s really a problem or anything. This is also a minor detail but there are visible seam lines in various spots but some figures are just made that way. It’s not extremely noticeable to be an annoyance.
Kingdom Hearts Figure
Tumblr media
I was extremely excited when I saw this one :3 who doesn’t love Kingdom Hearts? I have the games and manga, and I LOVE this series!
This is another collection of small, but detailed figurines. This series is by Bandai and includes 6 characters: Sora, King Mickey, Maleficent, a Shadow heartless, Donald, and Goofy. The included little sheet lacks detail and images and is full of some Disney information, so I suppose it’s from there, or is a collab or something?
Anyway I can’t say my favorite Kingdom Hearts character is included in this line (but we’d be here for like 10 minutes if I wrote down everyone I liked), but I always had a soft spot for Sora and he is who I would have wanted to get out of the options here.
The figures feature a chibi anime style and a few of them include an item and a small base with their name and series logo on it.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I love this little figure, but it leaves me with some confusion. From the top to the mid-section is extremely detailed, including the metallic keyblade. But from the mid-section down (I know its probably hard to see in the picture) I feel like they started neglecting detail; but with a small figure it’s probably expected right? The rest of it is very impressive.
Cat Wind Chime
Tumblr media
(Sorry for the blur, I couldn’t get it to stop moving)
As a lover of both cats and wind chimes, this is the purrfect combination :3 Wind chimes are popular in Japan during summer, when people put them outside to listen to the jingle of the bells and feel the cooling breeze as it blows through them.
This series is by Epoch, and there are 5 kitties available; and all but 1 of them seems to have a gold bell. The 1 has silver. The dangle part, as you can probably see is the kitties tail, and each kitty has a clear bead on top to keep the string from falling through the hole.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The detailing is really nice and simple, it looks a lot cuter than my horrible picture makes it out to be. The bell has a sweet little chime, but I did notice that when it’s hung up the tail piece becomes stiff? But when holding it, it moves fine in the breeze so I feel like it should still work fine.
Pokemon Paint
Tumblr media
These paint palette gachapon have been pretty popular as of late I noticed. They either feature a variety of characters with art supplies, or a specific color theme- or in this case both. This series is by Kitan Club and each costs 300 yen, which I feel like is a bit expensive for such a tiny figure...
There are 5 pink adorable Pokemon to get in this collection, and if I had to choose I think I would have liked Mew or Clefairy the most. But they’re all very cute, and as you can see I got Chancy (whose Japanese name is “Lucky”).
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
As cute as this is, as I stated above the price has me a little iffy. I mean I can see why it’s that because it’s Pokemon- but I’ve gotten cheaper gachapon with more detail/bigger size. I noticed mine has a fair amount of color issues (there not visible in the pic at all), but at the same time it doesn’t detract from the general cuteness of the concept. The seams are fine and the figure is overall smooth, and while the colors are right, they could have been applied a little better.
Dragonball Z Figurine
Tumblr media
Our last item.... is in pieces!
That’s right, our final item is a Dragonball Z figurine that you get to semi-assemble.
Tumblr media
Yes that is a cat next to Frieza. He wanted some attention and wouldn’t leave me alone so at this point I decided to hurry up and finish to focus on him.
Anyway, this series includes very detailed figurines from Dragonball Z and is the 3rd series/wave of the collection and includes Frieza, Super Saiyan Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma. I definitely wish I got Bulma or Vegeta, or even Goku would have sufficed, I wasn’t a Frieza fan. There is also another sheet in the gachapon, I think hinting at another possible set of characters you can get for this series.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The detail is obviously there, which is why I’m giving this a high rating. I also like the little put together detail and how it includes a small base piece. I’m not sure if I used it right though cause it looked like it could fit on a few places...
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Quality: 4 out of 5. I feel like it was very easy to see in each and every piece. There was no major complaints other than the color touch-ups I feel like my Pokemon needed.
Items: 2.5 out of 5. Don’t get me wrong, I did like them; especially the Kingdom Hearts figure, my cute little Waddle Dee, and the kitty wind chime. But in comparison to our previous box I feel like this one was a little bit of a letdown and pretty much was full of figurines that are just set for display. There isn’t too much to do with them and I feel no sense of practicality in this box (which isn’t you would think isn’t normally a thing with gacha, but so far our boxes have been including it and there are actually a lot of practical ones you can collect) other than the wind chime. Plus a lot of the items were on the tiny-small side and for the price we pay...
Total Rank: 6 out of 10 cuties. Detail was there, as was the cuteness with the exception of 2 capsules. I feel underwhelmed by this box though and I can’t say it’s the best representative of gachapon or Gacha Gacha Crate.
♥ Cutie Scale ♥
1. Cat Wind Chime - I mean come on, this should be obvious :P
2. Kingdom Hearts Figurine  - I love my little Sora~ I’m very happy I got him. The tiny keyblade is even cuter.
3. Hungry Kirby - Pretty simple, but very adorable. The whole collection would be great for a Re-ment display! Or to add to the other Kirby re-ment series.
4. Pokemon Paint - It’s cute and I like the metallic paint tube. I just wish the base looked more like actual paint, like I’ve seen the other paint series do.
5. Frieza - Even if he isn’t my favorite, I really appreciate the detailing put into him. The tail part is even missing its tip like in the actual anime. I remember that part, but I can’t say I remember it extremely well, I saw this series when I was like 6 or 7. I’m thinking of giving it to old babysitter, he was the one to introduce the series to me.
6. Wood Puzzle - It’s okay, but I just don’t feel any sort of desire to do anything with it.
