(IDOLiSH7) Touma Inumaru - An Idol's Daily Life Rabbit Chat: Part 1 - Send-Off with an Idol's Smile
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
Please note that I am not a professional translator. If you come across any mistakes, feel free to let me know and I will make the necessary corrections.
Tsumugi Takanashi: Inumaru-san, good work. Thank you very much for appearing as a guest on MEZZO"'s radio show today!
Tsumugi Takanashi: Both of them seemed very happy and said they had a lot of fun talking with you about various topics!
Touma Inumaru: Good work today, Takanashi-san! I love music and often listen to MEZZO"'s radio show, so I had a blast too!
Touma Inumaru: I was so caught up in the deep conversation with Sougo that I forgot I was at work and got really fired up lol
Touma Inumaru: So much so that when Yotsuba kept asking me stuff without hesitation, I wanted to share so much with him, but time flew by too quickly.
Tsumugi Takanashi: You all were chatting in the waiting room after it ended too! And thank you so much for the King Pudding you brought for him!
Touma Inumaru: No problem at all! I was really glad that he was so happy! His eyes were sparkling when he went, "Can I eat all of it!?" It was adorable.
Touma Inumaru: Although Sougo immediately stopped him, saying, "You can't eat ALL of it" lololol
Tsumugi Takanashi: He said he planned to eat one tonight and one tomorrow morning. Lol
Touma Inumaru: I did that when I was a kid too. Whenever I bought a box of ice cream, I always wanted to eat several at once.
Touma Inumaru: I didn't think anyone would notice because there were so many, so this one time I secretly ate like three at a once and ended up with a stomach ache lolol
Tsumugi Takanashi: Three at once…? That's enough to freeze your stomach...
Touma Inumaru: I was dumb lololol. My mom found out immediately and got mad, so I started planning when to eat them over the week.
Tsumugi Takanashi: When you're a kid, you take snack times really seriously, don't you? Lol
Tsumugi Takanashi: It wasn’t ice cream in my case, but when my dad bought me a tin of cookies, I would get excited and carefully choose which one to eat each day.
Touma Inumaru: So you actually stuck to the plan? That's impressive!
Tsumugi Takanashi: Well... sometimes I couldn’t resist and secretly ate two at once… > <
Touma Inumaru: We're all the same lolololol
Tsumugi Takanashi:
Tsumugi Takanashi: By the way, I saw on the morning show that you're going to appear in the "Send-Off with an Idol's Smile!" segment!
Touma Inumaru: Thank you! I'm just a guest for a week, so I'm going to do my best to leave a good impression.
Tsumugi Takanashi: It's a popular segment, so I think it will have a big impact…!
Tsumugi Takanashi: I often hear how people are thrilled to receive a "Have a great day!" from their favorite idol right after the weather forecast.
Touma Inumaru: I heard it gets a lot of buzz on social media with tags like "Today's XX-san" trending!
Tsumugi Takanashi: Yes, they make posts with the "I'm off now" tag right when the idols say, "Have a great day" on the show. It trends every morning!
Tsumugi Takanashi: I'm sure when you’re on, "#Today's_Inumaru-san" will be a hot topic.
Touma Inumaru: I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also a bit nervous lol
Touma Inumaru: Honestly, when I got the offer, I was really surprised. Like, me? Seriously? The people that come on this show have a fresh image that fits the morning vibe, so I wondered if my smile would be a good fit.
Touma Inumaru: The other day, I offered my hand to a kid who fell in front of me and he started crying lolol
Tsumugi Takanashi: Maybe he was just startled > <
Touma Inumaru: I don’t have a friendly face like Haru or Mina, so maybe I scared him. I was also wearing a hat pulled down low and a mask.
Tsumugi Takanashi: Perhaps it was because of that disguise...!
Touma Inumaru: Now that I think about it, I was also wearing sunglasses, so that might be it lol
Tsumugi Takanashi:
Tsumugi Takanashi: Riku-san also said that he feels he would be energized being sent off with Inumaru-san's smile.
Touma Inumaru: Rikuuuu!! He’s such a nice guy!!
Touma Inumaru: I’ll send him a Rabbit Chat later!
Tsumugi Takanashi:
Touma Inumaru: Actually, I wanted to thank you, Takanashi-san!
Tsumugi Takanashi: Eh, did I do something!?
Touma Inumaru: When you sent MEZZO" to the booth saying "Have a great day," it felt so fresh and warm. I thought it was really nice.
Touma Inumaru: I was like "I definitely have to learn from this!" and made sure to take mental notes lol
Tsumugi Takanashi: I’m honored you would say that > <
Touma Inumaru: Do you have any tips?
Tsumugi Takanashi: I haven't thought deeply about it, but I always try to convey a sense of "Do your best!" when I send them off.
Touma Inumaru: I see, so it's all about conveying that feeling. That's important!
Touma Inumaru: I hope I can send off the viewers with a feeling that energizes them too!
Tsumugi Takanashi:
End of Part 1.

A/N: This story was written for @faruun for the DRV3 Summer Gift Exchange 2023 run by @drv3giftexchangeclub. I really loved your prompts, and I hope you will like this story. Cheers!!💕
A smile tugged at Shuichi’s mouth as he watched Kaede sigh at the glass case of ice cream. As she hummed thoughtfully, her brow furrowed, and she bit down slightly on her bottom lip, a sure sign that she was deep in thought and concentration. Shuichi’s smile widened. He had always found something delightful and, dare he even admit it, adorable in her concentrating expression, so he felt almost guilty for interrupting her with a gentle, “Please pick out whatever you’d like. It’s my treat.”
Kaede chuckled lightly, before turning to him with a bright smile. “I’m not sure how I’ll decide.”
“I’m not sure how any of us are supposed to decide when all the ice cream has been dyed strange and unnatural colors,” Maki added dryly with a slight huff.
“What are you talking about Maki-Roll?” asked Kaito with a curious tilt of his head as he draped his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulder and peered into the case. Maki frowned but the flush of pink in her cheeks wasn’t lost on Shuichi. Kaede must have noticed as well since she politely stifled a laugh and shot Shuichi a knowing glance. He knew that she must be thinking the same thing: it was sweet that Maki still got a little flustered around Kaito even though they had been together for months now.
However, Shuichi couldn’t help but wonder if Kaede was also thinking about them and their own relationship—wondering how long it would take until he stopped blushing every time she held his hand or he called her by her first name. He was still getting used to that and slipped up occasionally, falling back into his old, more formal habits of using her surname. Luckily, there wasn’t a nickname or term of endearment she wanted him to use like Kaito and his “Maki-Roll.” Shuichi was fairly certain he would never get a term of endearment out of his mouth—he would be far too shy or embarrassed, and she probably knew that. That said, her face lit up every time he called her Kaede as if she had never truly appreciated how beautiful a name it was until he said it.
“Woah, you’re right,” exclaimed Kaito pulling Shuichi out of his thoughts. “That’s some wild ice cream.”
“Fun, isn’t it?” cackled Kokichi from behind the ice cream counter. Shuichi sighed. DICE’s Ices had the best shaved ice and ice cream in town which, Shuichi reminded himself, made it the perfect place for a double date even if the frozen treats were always served with a side of Kokichi’s pranks and antics, especially in the summers when he practically lived at his family’s shop. “It was Gonta’s idea.”
“No, it was yours,” said Gonta with a tilt of his head that upset the colorful hat he had to wear as part of his uniform. “Gonta not smart enough to come up with idea like that.”
Kaede gently reached across the counter to reassuringly pat his hand. “Aww don’t say things like that Gonta.”
“Yeah, no one knows as much about bugs as you do,” encouraged Kaito.
Even Kokichi chimed in with, “Things would certainly be boring around here without you” which was probably as much of a verbal declaration of friendship as Shuichi had ever heard from him. With a hum, Kokichi stretched his arms above his head, then sighed. “But yes, Gonta’s right. That was a lie. It was my idea to dye the ice cream.” He held up his hands as a gesture of confession, but they all just blinked at him.
“Yes, we know,” said Maki, seemingly, unamused, and Kokichi pouted at her.
“Oh come on, you weren’t even fooled for a little bit?”
“No.”
“I kind of was,” shrugged Kaito, though Shuichi was fairly certain he was just being generous.
“Don’t encourage him,” Maki huffed with a shake of her head.
“Aww don’t be such a stick in the mud,” bantered Kokichi with a crooked smile. “This is supposed to be fun. I thought it would be a good way to drum up business during this nasty cold snap we’ve been having.”
Shuichi’s brow furrowed. He hadn’t thought about how this recent cold weather had been affecting local businesses, especially ones that banked on hot summer days for a lot of their annual revenue.
“This cold weather has been unexpected,” said Kaede with a tilt of her head. “We were planning to go to the beach after we got ice cream today but decided it was too chilly.”
“That’s too bad,” hummed Kokichi though Shuichi couldn’t help but wonder if he was just being facetious per usual.
Gonta, on the other hand, was incredibly sincere as always and reached out to gently pat Kaede’s hand. “Gonta is sorry and hopes cold weather goes away soon.”
“Hey, don’t look so down in dumps.” interjected Kaito, giving Kaede a friendly pat on the back. “This could be fun. I mean we should just lean into the cold weather and do a bunch of cold activities.”
“What do you mean?” asked Shuichi in confusion.
“Well, you know, we’re already getting ice cream which is cold, and after that, we should do something else that’s cold.” Kaito practically beamed at them with that 100-watt smile of his, clearly proud of himself and his idea, but Maki quirked an eyebrow at him.
“Like what?”
“Hm…” Kaito hummed with thoughtful concentration before his face lit up. “I know! Let’s go to the ice-skating rink.”
Maki’s eyes narrowed. “You want to go ice skating? You can’t skate.”
“Sure I can!” Kaito insisted, but Maki just blinked at him.
“The last time we tried we tried to skate, you had to hold my hand the whole time.”
With a light chuckle, Kaito gave her a lopsided smile and met her eyes. “Maybe I just wanted to hold your hand,” he teased though there was something so affectionate in his expression. Maki’s face flushed red as he reached out to playfully grab her hand. “And maybe I want to hold your hand again.”
Maki’s blush deepened, until her pale cheeks were a bright red, but Kaito just beamed, intertwining their fingers. Awkwardly tugging at one of her pigtails with her free hand, Maki twisted her mouth to one side and looked away from him in a sort of shy but affectionate embarrassment. Kaede chuckled lightly behind her hand, and Shuichi smiled, ignoring the warmth he could feel rising in his own cheeks. He tried to focus on how cute his friends were together rather than on the vivid image that danced through his head of a smiling Kaede taking him by the hand and leading him slowly and carefully around the rink while he could only stare down at his ice skates, flustered and bright red in the face.
“Well, I think that’s a great idea,” chimed Kaede excitedly. “Let’s head there after ice cream.”
“Alright!” exclaimed Kaito. “Let’s order, then head over there.
Maki finally, sheepishly disentangled her hand from his, then huffed at the ice cream case. “That’s easier said than done since all the colors are messed up.” She glared pointedly at Kokichi who pouted at her.
“You’re such a stick in the mud. Just for that I might not let you have any of the fun, colorful ice cream.”
“Good. I don’t want it.”
Kokichi didn’t miss a beat, just laughed then said, “That’s a lie. I’d never deny a paying customer.” He smiled brightly, clearly amused with himself, then in what seemed to be his best impression of a carnival barker said, “Step right up. Pick your favorite color, folks. Be surprised. Live a little.”
Kaito laughed, and even Kaede couldn’t quite hold back a smile, but Maki blinked at him with a deadpan, “I’m getting shaved ice.”
*-*-*
“Mmm…” hummed Kaede as she finished up the last of her ice cream. “I’ve never had watermelon-flavored before. It’s actually really good.”
“I’m glad you like it,” said Shuichi who hadn’t particularly cared for the cotton candy flavor he had unwittingly selected, but he supposed it was alright.
“You have some on your face,” Maki mumbled at Kaito who had somehow gotten chocolate and practically devoured his ice cream cone before they had even left the shop to walk to the nearby ice rink. Kaito’s attempt to wipe the ice cream off of the corner of his mouth, only smeared it across his cheek, which Shuichi began to suspect he had done on purpose when Maki reached out with her thumb to wipe it off for him. Kaito gave her a toothy grin as she twisted her mouth to one side and turned away to throw out her now empty cup of shaved ice.
“That was delicious,” said Kaito with a bright smile. “And I thought Kokichi’s idea to dye the ice cream different colors was actually kind of fun.”
“Just don’t tell him that. He’ll keep doing obnoxious things like this,” huffed Maki, and Shuichi stifled a chuckle, too polite to mention that Kokichi would probably keep pulling these kinds of harmless yet annoying pranks even without encouragement.
Before anyone could say anything more, however, they reached the ice-skating rink, and Kaito made quite the show of opening the door for them, though Shuichi supposed that was mostly for Maki’s benefit. The door jingled as they walked inside only to find the whole place absolutely deserted.
“Eerie…” Kaede mumbled under her breath with a light, awkward chuckle, and Shuichi was inclined to agree with her.
“Ooh customers!” a lithe, tinkly voice called out. Shuichi and his friends turned to the nearby skate rental counter where Tsumugi had suddenly turned her attention from them to her coworker, Rantaro, with a frown. “Wait…how did you make that?”
Rantaro just shrugged, and Shuichi’s brow furrowed as he followed his gaze towards a nearby wastebasket several feet from the skate rental counter. There were several crumbled up wads of paper and around the trashcan and behind the counter was a dry erase board divided in half with “Rantaro” written on one side and “Tsumugi” written on the other. They must be playing a makeshift game to pass the time, Shuichi thought, and he stifled a chuckle by clearing his throat. Judging by the hoards of tally marks on Rantaro’s side of the board, he was winning by a landslide. Though Shuichi supposed there were really no surprises there—Rantaro could do anything.
“Were you trying to distract me?” he asked her dryly. “You know that’s against the rules.”
Tsumugi frowned and huffed at him, but she turned towards Shuichi and his friends with a smile. “What can we do for you today?”
“Oh hey Tsumugi. Hey Rantaro. How’s it going?” asked Kaede brightly.
Shrugging his shoulders, Rantaro replied with easygoing smile, “It’s alright.”
“It could be better,” Tsumugi interrupted. “All this cold weather we’ve been having has been bad for business.”
Rantaro sighed. “It has been kind of boring around here. We’ve been playing trashcan basketball to pass the time.”
“Oh, who’s winning?” asked Kaito with an exuberant interest.
Rantaro shrugged again but glanced over at their makeshift scoreboard before admitting with a genuine humbleness, “I think I am…”
“Show off,” Tsumugi muttered dryly, though Shuichi got the impression it was just a friendly banter.
“Woah, you are really the best at everything you do, huh?” laughed Kaito, seemingly, partially teasing yet partially a little impressed.
“I wouldn’t say that,” Rantaro chuckled lightly, scratching the back of his neck. “But really, how are you guys? I feel like I haven’t seen you all summer—especially you Kaede and we live next door to each other. I don’t even hear your piano anymore,” he teased with a friendly smile.
“Oh,” chuckled Kaede. “I worried I was annoying my family by playing the same song that I’ve been practicing for this upcoming competition over and over, so I’ve been practicing a lot at school instead.”
“I’m kind of relieved to hear that. I was starting to get worried you had given it up,” he bantered before he turned to Shuichi. “What about you, Shuichi? Kaede told me you got a summer internship at a private detective agency.”
Shuichi’s face flushed. Had Kaede really been talking to Rantaro about him? He knew they were good friends and neighbors, but what else had she told him? Hopefully nothing too embarrassing. He tried to push the thought away. “Yeah, I mean, I was mostly just filing things, but it was a good experience—should look good on a resumé.”
“Absolutely, and you know what they say: experience is the best teacher.” Rantaro nodded with a warm, gentle smile that could make anyone feel at ease, though he began his following anecdote with a more mundane, nonchalance than Shuichi felt it warranted. “There was this one time I was backpacking in the Swiss Alps and…”
“We should probably ask them if they need some skates in addition to one of your backpacking stories,” Tsumugi cut him off with a pointed tilt of her head.
“Oh yeah, of course. Sorry about that. It’s been so long since we’ve had a customer around here, I guess I’ve forgotten the protocol”—his mouth twitched into a dry, bantering smile—“one backpacking story for every pair of skates.”
“I bet that’s great for business,” said Kaito as he pointed to the size of his skates. “You have the best stories.”
Rantaro pulled Kaito’s skates off of the shelf with a shrug. “Thanks. Glad you like them. I think Tsumugi is sick of them at this point.”
“I didn’t say that,” she sniffed. “I just didn’t want our customers to have to stand there awkwardly for too long. They’re too nice to cut you off.” She bristled before she turned to Kaede and Maki to ask what size of skates they would like to rent.
It wasn’t long before Shuichi had skates of his own, courtesy of Rantaro who never did finish that backpacking story. He would have to ask him about it later or maybe Kaede would know seeing as he was a close friend of hers. As it was now, however, Shuichi’s friends had made their way towards the rink, and Rantaro and Tsumugi had returned to their intense game of trashcan basketball with polite instructions not to hesitate to call them if they needed anything. Shuichi sighed. Trashcan basketball was actually starting to sound like fun now—more fun than falling on his face on the ice and embarrassing himself in front of Kaede anyway. He swallowed hard just thinking about.
“Are you okay, Shuichi? You’re looking kind of pale…” Kaede turned around to face him with a kind, concerned smile. She had already gracefully glided out onto the ice—perfectly balanced and coordinated just what Shuichi would have expected from her. Kaito and Maki were already skating as well and were nearly halfway across the rink with Kaito laughing all the way while holding on tightly to a blushing Maki’s hand despite her protestations that he could clearly skate just fine without her help.
“Shuichi?” Kaede gently asked again, and Shuichi turned to meet her eyes with a smile.
“I’m alright…just not very good at skating, I’m afraid,” he sheepishly admitted, a tint of rose in his pale cheeks.
Kaede reached out a hand to him with a reassuring, “Oh that’s alright. Why don’t you hold onto my hand for now, and we can skate together until you have a little more practice? I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it in no time.”
As Shuichi gently took her hand, his face burned. He could only hope his palms weren’t too sweaty, but Kaede didn’t seem to mind. Despite the faint flush of rose in her cheeks, she gave him the warmest, brightest smile as she led him out onto the ice. Shuichi’s eyes widened, and he could only blink at her. She was so beautiful it made his heart ache.
The thought only made him all the more embarrassed as he stared down at his skates and shaky legs, struggling to find his balance on the ice. He gripped even more tightly onto Kaede who giggled—bright and tinkly like a music box. “It’s okay. Take your time,” she encouraged him with warm, kind eyes.
Shuichi’s face flushed an even deeper red, but he nodded, taking a deep breath and carefully finding his balance on the slick rink. With a few short, shuffling motions of his feet they were off, gliding—albeit it very slowly—across the ice hand in hand.
Kaede was right. He got the hang of it in no time at all, but still, he held on tightly to her hand not quite ready to let go just yet. Kaede, it seemed, wasn’t ready to let go either, and she gave his hand a reassuring squeeze before she said, “There you go. See, I knew you’d get it.”
“Thank you,” said Shuichi with a slight smile, shyly turning away from her as he gently squeezed her hand in return.
After they had skated around the rink a couple of times, just quietly enjoying each other’s company and the warmth of holding hands, Kaede said, “You know this reminds me of ‘The Skaters’ Waltz.’ Do you know it?”
Shuichi shook his head. “I’m afraid not, but I’d love to hear it someday.”
“I’ll have to play it for you sometime. It’s really beautiful.” Her voice trailed wistfully, and her face lit up as it often did when she talked about music. Shuichi admittedly didn’t know much about it beyond what he had learned from Kaede, but her passion for the piano was positively infectious. He could listen to her talk about it for hours, and when she played for him, he could have sworn it was the most beautiful music he had ever heard.
“I’d like that,” he replied with a shy but affectionate smile. Kaede smiled back.
“It would be nice if we had some music now, don’t you think?”
Almost as if on cue, a soft melody began to play and the lights in the skating rink dimmed with colorful, swirling lights almost dancing across the ice. Kaede gasped in surprise, but a smile tugged at her mouth, and she turned to wave at Rantaro and Tsumugi as they passed by with an excited, “Thank you!”
As Rantaro waved back at them, his mouth curved in a lopsided but kind smile. “Don’t mention it.”
Kaede laughed but turned back to Shuichi with a beaming smile that was so beautiful that something panged in his chest. Despite the chill from the unexpected cold weather and the chilliness of the ice rink, however, he felt so incredibly warm as he gently traced patterns on the back of Kaede’s hand with his thumb, gently leading her farther out onto the ice in a bit of a gliding dance.
The music Rantaro had put on for them swelled—growing louder and louder as Kaede met Shuichi’s eyes. He didn’t have the words to tell her right now—maybe he would someday, but the truth was he didn’t need that background melody. He could hear music every time he looked at her.

something about Shirogane's name
alright, i'm going to post this right before i go to bed, so i'm pretty tired, so sorry if it's written a bit weird or something.
Shirogane's name means platinum or silver in japanese, which makes sense since his fur is white, BUT, it's not his name which is curious, it's the way is written, Shirogane's name should be normally be written using Kanji (白金), and other fictional characters with the name Shirogane, example, Tsumugi Shirogane from the Danganronpa series also have their names written that way, but Ice Scream's Shiro's name is writen in a different way, using Katakana (シロガネ), why? well, it is interesting to note that Katakana is generally used to write non-japanese words in english, as loan words or as to write animal names BUT, if used to write a name, it could be seen as demeaning, basically to lower a person's status (from what i've heard, correct me if i'm wrong because i probably am).... so yeah, Shirogane is so disrespected that even the way to write his name is an insult to him.

DAY 13: DANGANTOBER
Day 13: Favorite Mastermind
Okay, okay. I spent the last post raving about her followers, it only makes sense to talk about the girlboss that started it all.
First of all, I believe all of the masterminds in this franchise are worth their own post. My definition of a mastermind is a bit different than other people's. I believe the mastermind is the person or persons who got the characters into the location of the game, set up the circumstances for said game, and facilitated what happened within. So, while most people only consider Junko, Izuru, and Tsumugi as the masterminds, I have a few more people added to that list.
For THH, it's Junko and Mukuro. They set up the game, caused everyone to be trapped in Hope's Peak, and Junko facilitated the game while Mukuro posed as her.
For SDR2, I think the masterminds of that game are Junko AI, Izuru, and Makoto. Junko once again facilitated the game, Izuru provided the means by putting her in the simulation, and Makoto (not working with the other two, obviously) put everyone in the location.
For V3, it's definitely just Tsumugi, and Team Danganronpa as a whole. She does it all, the location, the facilitation, it's all her.
For the anime, it's Tengan. He's gathered the Future Foundation heads together, provided the means for the game, and while he doesn't facilitate, he sets up the automated control for the game. Tengan's an opp, and so is Ryota. Sorry to those who like them, just my opinion but like much of my opinions, I'd love to hear the opposite side!
Anyways, back to Junko. As much as the other masterminds are neat, she's the one who started it all. The Ultimate Despair herself, the mastermind of all masterminds.
I love how it's kind of a running gag that, no matter what, it's always her or someone very closely associated with her. She's the William Afton of Danganronpa. Hit 'em with that "I ALWAYS COME BACK'' mess, in a golden Monokuma suit.
As a child, Junko quickly grew very bored of what the world had to offer. She was very smart and analytical, and thus could easily predict the outcomes of certain situations. The reason she fell in love with despair is because she found it unpredictable and exciting. You could be as sickly creative as you wanted, and the outcome would always differ in some way.
I'm not very knowledgeable about Danganronpa: Zero and the characters explored in there, like Yasuke Matsuda, but I'm aware of the general gist of their relationship (thanks Danganronpa wiki!) Junko and Yasuke were childhood friends, with Junko soon rising to stardom in the modeling industry, while Yasuke was named the 'Ultimate Neurologist'. She was scouted into Hope's Peak by recommendation of the Steering Committee, who are just the suckiest people in Danganronpa. Giving Junko the resources she needs, and creating the Kamukura Project? Come on, guys.
We first see Junko in the anime whilst meeting Mukuro at an airport. She's in an absolutely killer outfit, which is something we don't often see from someone who's supposed to be the Ultimate Fashionista. Those of you out there who give her alternate outfits are delightful <3 You are lying if you say she didn't slay this fit.
Speaking of slay, she promptly detonates a bomb that she planted in a taxi, and while driving away, attempts to kill Mukuro with an ice pick just for entertainment. Mukuro is obviously able to hold her own against her. It is the musings of a teenage girl that ultimately brings society to its knees. She discovers the existence of Izuru Kamukura, and quickly becomes infatuated with the idea of him, mainly his numerous talents and what use that could be to her. She kidnaps a Hope's Peak trustee, and is later seen with only his eyeball for the retinal scan for Izuru's little room.
Junko appeals to Izuru's rampant boredom, enticing him by saying that despair will finally be something he can't predict the outcome to, something that will provide endless entertainment for him. She's injured in this encounter, so while he sits to think on it, Mukuro takes her to the school infirmary, where they meet Ryota Mitarai, the Ultimate Animator.
youtube
Original Uploader: Anime Essential on YouTube
She takes an interest in Ryota's talent and desire to create moving anime, and after noticing that it has an emotional effect on both her and Mukuro, she learns that he puts subliminal messaging in his work to make it get more of a reaction, and he equates it to brainwashing (something he does a lot, like dude...). Junko sees an opportunity for herself, and makes him get to work on the various different despair videos for her. She blackmails him by threatening Mikan, whom she had kidnapped prior to meeting up with him to see his work.
That night, Junko springs Izuru from his room, and thus begins the student council killing game, which is more of a massacre. Izuru watches the chaos unfold, and is shocked when one of them actually manages to slightly injure him. This moment may be what ultimately swayed him to despair's side.
Junko uses the footage from this event to frame Izuru as the sole culprit in this game, exposing Hope's Peak for using the reserve course student's tuition money for human experimentation, which causes the reserve course students to start to turn against Hope's Peak.
Junko brainwashes Mikan, and Mikan tells her about her own class, how they're all so close and full of hope, which is what gets Junko to select them as the class she wants to plunge into despair. Fast forward to when Chiaki and Nagito find her little hideout, her initial plan was to get Nagito out of the way (really whoever accompanied Chiaki) and then brainwash Chiaki, but that didn't work out for her. Chisa is instead selected as her target, by making her watch the despair video. Chisa proves to have enough mental fortitude to resist, and Mukuro is ordered to forcefully lobotomize her to make the process quicker.
Junko also demonstrates that she's gotten the reserve course students to her side, making one brutually unalive himself, and having others protecting her when Ryota tries to stop her. He runs away, and Juzo is also blackmailed by her. She says if he does not waive her of all suspicion, then she'll reveal his feelings for Munakata.
She then has Chiaki go through that infamous dungeon like obstacle course, resulting in her death, and the creation of the Remnants of Despair. Junko then makes the reserve course students commit mass unalive (I don't know tumblr TOS that well) and hides out among her class in the aftermath for the events of THH.
Behind the scenes here, her and Yasuke were experimenting with memory erasure for the killing game, and she tested it on herself. She assumed the identity of Ryoko Otonashi, while Mukuro took out the school board. Once Junko remembered who she was, she killed Yasuke in a fit of despair. Junko also took the WOH under her wing, instilling them with the belief that they belonged to her, and that they should start creating a paradise for children by force. Mostly, she was just interested in Monaca's standing in Towa City, the rest were just tagalongs to her.
We know what happens next from this point on. She facilitates the Hope's Peak killing game, which ultimately results in her death. She manages to not completely die, having converted a version of her consciousness into an AI, and putting it inside two different Monokuma units, Shirokuma and Kurokuma. Through those two, she monitored what was happening in Towa City, until Izuru came along and put her in the Neo World Program. She facilitated that game as well, which ultimately resulted in her deletion. Her goal in that game was to rebirth herself into the bodies of those that had died in the game, and eventually taking over the Future Foundation and the world.
Finally, we see a version of her for the last time in V3, where Tsumugi assumes the identity of Junko Enoshima the 53rd. Junko's influence is even felt after her death, with the many different contingency plans and groups she had set up. From the WOH and the Remnants, to Chisa and Tengan in the Future Foundation, she had her hooks in everything.
Junko stands out as a very unique villain. She is manipulative, cunning, analytical, all traits that are wanted in a strong villain. She manages to think of and carry out disturbing acts, all with a smile on her face.
No matter how much you idolize a character, chances are, if they're not from V3, then they were effected by her in some way. That's the kind of influence that crowns you as my favorite mastermind.
Seriously, Hajime put it best.

IDOLiSH7 & MEZZO"
Part 7.5 of Universe 1 of my Swap AU. Please read that post before progressing! This post is a general overview of the group i7 and MEZZO" as formed by the swapped members of this universe.
IDOLiSH7 - A group formed by Takanashi productions as their first foray into the idol industry with former performer Banri Ogami as an overseeing staff member and the president's daughter, Tsumugi, as the recently-appointed manager. Each of the members were chosen for some reason or another, be it Touma's singing and enthusiasm, Minami's finesse with image and presentation, Ryuu's friendliness and realistic point of view, Mitsuki's love for performance and entertainment, Iori's meticulous and detail-oriented nature, Yuki's composing skills and understanding of music theory, or Tenn's vocals and knowledge of dance and idol history. While introductions were a little awkward initially, between the colder personality of Yuki to the unapproachable aura of Iori and insincerity of Minami, Ryuu and Mitsuki's warmth was able to quickly thaw the ice enough for everyone to be at least cooperative with one another. But will they be able to make it in an industry as cutthroat and vicious as the idol industry with just that? Only time will tell.
MEZZO" - After a disastrous power outage at their second concert, Mitsuki took it upon himself to go into the singular spotlight that was powered by the generator to tell jokes and alleviate the worries of the onlookers. He had two reasons for this: one, any flack towards the group, the sudden darkness, and the anger of a performance being cut short, would be directed at him. He could take it for the team—it was one of the only things he was good for when his singing and dancing was mediocre at best. But the second reason, a more selfish reason, was the hope that whatever attention was directed at him for this, good or bad, would eventually make it to wherever Aya was and let her know he was out there. That he was reachable. However, Iori's clear voice leading in with the song after Mitsuki's standup, the way the two of them looked at each other as they shifted the weight of who was in the spotlight after the power was restored, ended up being what went viral. With the booming success of the two suddenly being focused upon by everyone in a way neither expected, with the lackluster idol and the idol that only became one as an experiment, the two were forced into debuting before the rest of IDOLiSH7 as a duo. While it is awkward (more than awkward, actually; how do they talk to each other? Relate to each other? The difference between an orphan and an heir is miles and miles long, and that's only the start), the two endeavor to give it their best for the sake of everyone else. They're the flagship, and all eyes are on them. The best they can do is make sure what they're being watched for looks good.

The Real Threat.
You got attacked!?
Yeah...Looks like the Monokubs are coming after me after all...Sora guided me to the shower, and one of them tried to catch me by surprise.
That’s where you are now? The shower room?
Tsumugi must really hate your guts to be desperate enough to make the MONOKUBS try to kill you.
Thanks for the reminder Kaito...
I just figured I’d keep you guys posted. I can’t talk long obviously because Sora can only hold the barrier open for a short while.
Don’t worry though. I’m alright. Barely scratched. How are things on your end?
No luck. But we’re preparing some new methods of breaking in as we speak. Whether they’ll work or not remains to be seen.
...
Shuichi?
Sorry...I just panicked a little.
I’m glad you’re ok Kaede. And I know you can defend yourself...Heck, you can do it way better than I can. But...
The idea of you being stuck in there with a bunch of killer robots out to get you is making me worried.
...That’s wrong Shuichi.
Huh?
...
*Kaede reaches down and grabs Monokid’s corpse by the ear. She lifts up and shows his mangled body to the people on the other side.
!!!??
Well damn...!
What the hell...!?
K-Kaede, did you-!?
I’m not stuck in here with the Monokubs, guys...
THEY’RE stuck in here with ME...!
*The call ends as Sora runs out of energy.
What the hell do you mean Monokid is dead!?
Exactly as it sounds Boss Lady...
The guy tried to catch Akamatsu with her pants down...literally...but ended up getting pummeled into a sink.
*sigh* Figures...I should have known that you were all so dumb enough to underestimate her...
Not that I can fault you.
“Underestimate her?”
I made the same mistake a few months back. I figured even with my limited combat expertise I could take her in a fight.
But that girl has been putting a lot of time into her training. She’s probably even more skilled now than she was when we last fought. And she wiped the floor with me back then.
Not to mention she still has that fancy weapon of hers.
IT’S-PROPERTIES-ARE-VERY-SIMILAR-TO-THE-KINETIC-SPEARS-SUPPLIED-TO-ORGANIZATION-ZETSUBOU-BY-FANG-INCORPERATED. HOWEVER-IT-APPEARS-TO-BE-MODIFIED-WITH-MORE-ABILITIES.
I see...
Say...Ms Shirogane...by any chance, are there any copies of us left?
Huh?
Will Monokid be resurrected by Motherkuma or however you make clones of Daddy? Or is he dead forever?
...
I’ll take that silence as the latter.
I figured...
Please, take mercy on my brother! He didn’t deserve to die so young!
Listen!
*The Monokubs stand attentively.
Monokid’s death is a minor setback, but I managed to get your little toys up and running by now.
Really!?
You’re right...Motherkuma isn’t programmed to make copies of you 5...But...
Complete your mission, and kill Kaede Akamatsu...and I’ll consider making changes.
I made you all a promise, didn’t I?
*Tsumugi cuts off.
Well...what do we do now? I’m busy preparing Monokid’s funeral, so I can’t help here.
Oh FUCK the funeral! We’ll all need a fucking funeral if we don’t take care of this problem soon enough!
What do you mean...!?
Don’t you get it!? We underestimated Akamatsu and now she knows she’s capable o’ killin’ us!
It’s how humans work! Once they know how to kill, they go ahead and start huntin’ for wild animals like us! If we fight her, she’ll kill us like she did Monokid, but if we turn tail ‘n run, SHIROGANE’ll kill us for betrayin’ her orders!
We wanna rage hell on the world yeah!? Well that’s lookin’ pretty fuckin’ impossible right about now!
...MONOSUKE. PLEASE-DON’T-PANIC.
I-DO-NOT-THINK-KAEDE-AKAMATSU-IS-AS-VIOLENT-AS-YOU-MAY-BELIEVE. PERHAPS-WE-CAN-FIGURE-OUT-A-WAY-TO-CONVINCE-HER-TO-SPARE-US?
*Monosuke sharply turns towards Monodam.
What the hell you sayin’!? You takin’ the enemies side!?
I-AM-ON-THE-SIDE-WHERE-WE-ALL-GET-OUT-SAFELY. I-JUST-WANT-ALL-OF-US-TO-GET-ALONG.
Pretty rich coming from the Kub who KILLED all his family back in the old universe!?
Yeah! Don’t be such a fuckin’ hypocrite! You’re on thin fucking ice as it is, Monodam!
We wouldn’t be in this fucking situation if you had just done your job! But NOOOO you HAD to let Akamatsu and Saihara take the last bomb from you!
I-WAS-NOT-PREPARED-FOR-HER-NEW-ABILITIES.
Nah, you were too soft! You’ve always been too soft fer this kinda work! And if I’m gunna be honest, I don’t trust you!
Monosuke, don’t! Don’t you understand!?
Monodam is grieving the death of his brother! And he knows how strong Akamatsu is! He just doesn’t want to lose any more of his family!
Are you listenin’ t’ me! If that bomb had successfully gone off, we’d be outta this damn lab and into the open world by now!
If anyone’s t’ blame for Monokid’s death, IT’S YOU!
...!
Now THAT’S a bridge too far!
NO. MONOSUKE-IS-CORRECT.
Monodam!?
I-GOT-US-ALL-INTO-THIS-SITUATION-BECAUSE-I-FIGURED-THERE-WAS-AN-ALTERNATIVE-WAY-TO-THIS-THAT-DIDN’T-INVOLVE-KILLING.
I-SUPPOSE-I-DO-NOT-MAKE-A-VERY-GOOD-APEX-PREDATOR, HUH?
Monodam, what’s wrong?
MONOSUKE. IF-I-BRING-YOU-KAEDE-AKAMATSU’S-BODY...WILL-YOU-FORGIVE-ME-FOR-MY-PAST-MISTAKES?
...?
...
...Hell, if it gets us outta this shithole, I’ll try...
GOOD.
*At the same time, the Monokubs hear the sound of a lab door opening to the side. Monodam turns towards it and approaches.
DO-NOT-WORRY. I-WILL-MAKE-SURE-WE-ALL-GET-ALONG...

Good morning!
This is the first post we post in our collective blog for the Koneli system.
We are a parogenic system (Born voluntarily by the exercise of tulpamancy) and we use non-standard terminology. Most of our members are fictives of either the host's original stories or the host's fics.
We haven't quite managed to front, but we manage the interaction by eclipsing.
I am the host, my name is JAMS, and my inability to let other people front is because I kinda need to be in control to mask adequatly, as we are autistic as well.
We remember everything I do, but for most of the tulpas it's just informed stuff and not actual memories.
The list of members as in October of 2023 is the following:
---JAMS (He/they): The host ---Ego (He/they): A "reflection" of mine who developed into his own person. He's the only of my tulpas that was born in a way even before I knew what tulpamancy was. He was an imaginary friend that I made to cope with some heavy stuff and then I developed him into a tulpa. ---Izuru Kamukura (He/him): A Danganronpa fictive from my unpublished Kamunami fic "Power UP". His story was that he saved Chiaki from her execution and lived the events of Danganronpa IF and also saved Class 77 from despair thanks to the Neo World Program. He has his Hajime memories but personally rejects that identity. ---Tsumugi Shirogane (She/her): A Danganronpa fictive straight from Danganronpa V3, after her canon death. ---King Napoleon (He/him): A fictive of my own story: "Mem's Legacy". ---Snow King (He/him): An Adventure Time fictive from my AU "Snow King", where Gunther never became the Ice Thing and, after the comics "Simon and Marcy", Simon put on the rebooted crown and wished to be Ice King but not insane. ---Winter (He/him): A Pokémon fictive, an Iron Bundle who's sophont. ---Showbiz Fredbear (He/him): A FNAF fictive from my own OC Animatronic Models from my own AU. ---Melissa (She/her): An original tulpa, she's a Celesgynoid, a robotic angel. She uses the UTAU voice of Tei Sukone, but nothing else. ---Aventurine (She/her): A fictive of my Steven Universe Lapidot fusion OC. Unfortunately, some of these people might disappear, I'll try to keep them together, but some of them become dormant when I get sick.
Bigots of any kind, idgaf about whether or not you consider me valid or not, 'kay? Just scroll along because I'm not damaging anyone, I keep to myself.
Signed: JAMS

Kinktober day five! (I know the days aren't lined up exactly but it's fine)
Collaring: (Mukuro/Junko/Kokichi)
"Nishishishi.~ Now for me to-what the hell?!?" Kokichi was in another one of his "outings." Well, if you could call searching for people to annoy an outing of course. Today he tried something extra bold: going on the upper floors to get to the dorm rooms of the upperclassmen! His lock picking skills truly were second to none. Combine that with the water bucket in his hands and the camera in his pocket, and someone with an extremely perverted imagination can tell what he plans on doing to a certain idol. After all, he's taken lewd hidden photos before, no way the plan could backfire just because it's done towards an upperclassman.
Well, at least that was the plan on the staircase upwards. But the moment he entered the university's 2nd year dorm room he witnessed something truly unbelievable.
"Oh, it's that one perverted with a really weird laugh. Ain't seen you up here before." Junko waved to him casually despite the situation. The situation being what was going on to her sister below her.
Kokichi and Mukuro never really talked. They knew each other's names, sure, and were sometimes placed in the same group chat as one another, but they never had a moment before where they even shared eye contact. So for that moment to be now, when Mukuro was crawling on all fours on a leash held by Junko severely threw off Kokichi. Mukuro crawled towards him so Kokichi was given a better view. She had on, in addition to the dog collar, a wolf ear headband and a wolf tail that seemed to come out from behind her (though in reality, it was just a really convincing buttplug). However the closer she came, Kokichi was also given a better view of what she didn’t have on. For instance: Her shirt, her skirt, her leggings, her bra, her panties, or anything that covered her nude body. Kokichi froze as she approached him on all fours, now sniffing his crotch.
“D-damn, should’ve realized what people really meant when they called you a bitch.”
“Hmmm? You’re stuttering a lot for an alleged pervert. Oh wait, this is your first time seeing me take Mukuro on a walk? That makes so much more sense! Don’t worry, pervert, you’ll get used to it.” As much as Kokichi hated his new nickname given to him by the blonde, he couldn’t deny that he had been more on edge than anyone else in the dorm hallways. Several of his upperclassmen have already said hello to Mukuro. The idol he attempted to prank and post nude was even petting her. He could’ve even sworn he saw someone french kiss the collared girl, but he didn’t catch a good look at their face. Regardless, everyone here was already used to seeing a naked girl treated like a dog. However Kokichi’s observations were cut off by Junko screaming and yanking on her leash. “HEY! Bad girl!”
“What are you-whoa!”Kokichi was once again caught off guard by the collared bitch. Managed to strip off not only his pants but his boxers too! She was still on all fours though, so she used her mouth and teeth to pry his pants down. His semi erect cock was hung in front of her face, which caused her to drool with anticipation. She used her tongue to swirl around the shaft of his cock. Not taking it into her mouth but licking the underside of it like she was devouring a melting ice cream. She kissed his tip passionately as if making out with a love before repeating her pattern again several times over.
“Jeez. Oh well, what can you do?” Junko strutted towards Kokichi, the clacking of her boots against the ground somehow turned him on even more. She then placed her hand under his cheek and winked at him. “Well, she clearly likes you, so maybe I should start liking you too.” Junko then-
“YEAH RIGHT! You sleazy degenerate!” Kokichi’s lewd story was interrupted by Tenko yelling. “It’s just another one of your filthy male lies!”
You see, originally Junko came to do a collaboration with Tsumugi’s cosplay. And while she was with Tsumugi in her lab, Tenko, Kaede, Kokichi, and Junko’s sister Mukuro all came to watch. And while Junko and Tsumugi worked on outfits, Kokichi began telling an interesting story about the sisters to his classmates. The story you heard earlier, about Kokichi seeing Mukuro being walked on a leash by Junko.
“It’s not a lie! Or is it? Nishishishishi!”
Kaede rolls her eyes. To borrow Tsumugi’s terminology, it was plain to see that he was lying. Granted she had basically zero interactions with Mukuro, but the quiet girl secretly being into being walked like a dog? That was a stretch for even Kokichi’s standards. Those kind of events only occurred in cliche smut fanfiction. Not that she’s read any!...besides the one Tsumugi showed her…and a few more she saw by herself…but that was it!...well except for-
While Kaede was a blushing mess and Tenko and Kokichi engaged in an argument, Mukuro sat down on the ground and began watching people. Absent-mindedly she began snacking on some dog treats she had brought with her. What? She said it was a good source of protein. Plus they were the only real snack they had back in Fenrir. I mean any other reason would imply Kokichi’s story was true, which it couldn’t have been. Right?

Oh no, she found tier-lists again | DRV3 version
❗WARNINGS❗: huge text, some negative opinions and spoilers !!!
Well…. Happy new year of Rabbit, ahah! 🐇🎄 I went missing again for a while ;) But it doesn’t matter, because despite all the difficulties and festive fuss, all these weeks I continued to play DRV3 my progress reached the beginning of the 4th chapter since the last post... And oww, if you only knew how much I love a full-fledged playthrough, how many emotions have been received, how many thoughts..! It was to be expected that no Wiki, fan's articles freetime- or other events would replace this experience. And of course, the kind of information that I’ve been posting about myself a long time ago, and that (because of my love for such stuff) also included all the Danganronpa characters Tier Lists, became… a little bit irrelevant ^^” So now, in order to avoid any misunderstandings and to make my position clear to all passers-by, I decided to update the V3 related tier lists!
1st category, which has finally become more definite for me – female characters:
What was my problem? Well, I treated all DRV3 girls (except Kirumi and Tsumugi) in a sort of same-neutral way with a slight negative shade, but now I know how I feel about them.
First of all, I want to clarify one thing: although in the orange group all the girls seem to be in the same position, in fact, for me personally, they are located in TOP3 xD In other words, after Kirumi, my favorite girl is Tenko. I like Tenko more than I like Miu. But also I like Miu more than Kaede.
Yes, perhaps someone would find such a clear distribution odd, if not wrong… But I didn't signed the orange tier that way for no reason. I have clear reasons to «underestimate and compare» each of them. Everyone has some shortcomings that repels me more or less, so… OK, just read it, I’ll go right-left:
Kaede Akamatsu. Ooh, I'm like walking on thin ice right now, judging her in some way, because I’ve seen from the very beginning HOW MUCH 90% of DRV3 fans love her and how upset they are that she never managed to become the main character…
But, you know, I’m not upset and I’m not afraid to talk about it. Her action in the first chapter only strengthened my belief that Shuichi is in the right place. Yeah, I understand why Kaede can be loved. I also like her energy, enthusiasm, companionship, liveliness, positivity, belief in the best, the ability to quickly get it together and not give up (in this regard, she's similar to Kaito, and Kaito is my favorite male character)… And I’ve often heard the phrase like «Yes, Kaede has her faults – and that’s fine, it makes her just like real people». But you know, it’s one thing to love a character DESPITE the fact that they does wrong things in the canon… When, in the case of Akamatsu, she seems to me to be loved for EXACTLY what she did. I mean- come ooon, by the murder attempt she betrayed not only Shuichi, not only all her friends (who prefer to see through rose-colored glasses), but herself first and foremost! By saying «I believe in you», she still succumbed to the selfish desire to "save everyone", although Shuichi's plan COULD'VE worked in theory – and without any victims that Monokuma needs so much for his killing game. Kaede is considered strong, but I don't see a drop of strength, not a bit of heroism in her wilfulness "for others", cause all this time she could confess, tell about her concerns to the same Shuichi, but chose to remain silent, fearing that «no one would want to be friends with a murderer» (selfishness again) and wishing at trial to figure out who's Mastermind in some unknown way. Overall, this foolish hasty action makes her interesting, right – everything would be okay if we stopped here… But I just can’t understand why she remains a heroine worthy of such blind compassion for so many people! 😩 She took on too much responsibility by agreeing to be the heart of the group, didn't handle with it, and on top of that, finally left it all on the shoulders of the survivors by making them promise her an unsustainable thing. For me, Kaede is a weak, insecure person who has pave the road to Hell with good intentions – and to some extent she admits it, saying repeatedly that she’s not really such a good motivator and that she’s highly susceptible to positive reactions from others.
Simply speaking, I like Kaede, but I can’t forgive her completely for the way she treated everyone (and Shuichi in particular) + I’m annoyed by the fact that the rest fandom are see her in the wrong light (we should take Kokichi’s assessment as an example – it has always been quite fair). It would be nice if Kaede could stay a survivor and go through a good arc of self-consciousness, admitting her mistakes and complexes. And also, to be honest, sometimes I’m both laughing and annoying by some of her carelessness / excessive curiosity, which she mostly exhibits in FTE's with her classmates (with Kibo, for example).
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
The next one is Miu. Weeell here, the reason that prevents me from fully loving her is obvious (perhaps) :’D But let’s start with her merits (in my view).
First, how Miu combines incredible self-confidence + rudeness with blatant cowardice when you just give her the slightest resistance – it's both amusing and interesting phenomenon. Seriously, she is a MASTER of giving funny (and often inappropriate) comments that will relieve any atmosphere! 😄 Plus I cannot fail to acknowledge how talented she is and how valuable her ingenuity is. And this intuitive ability to guess the right culprits based only on inner certainty… (if only she could find impenetrable arguments, she'd be truly golden-mind, ahah!)
However, it’s time to name the chief characteristic that pushes me away from her. That’s her vulgarity.
Don’t think anything wrong, these horny jokes and comments are mostly harmless. I wouldn’t mind saying something like that in a joke too xD But Miu's FTEs and Love Suit event… There’s a certain hyperbolic overkill here. DR scriptwriters EXTREMELY love to hyperbolize everything and in almost 100% of cases it leaves a negative impression. You just want to erase it from the memory forever. So, honestly, if it was a little less vulgar, I wouldn’t be so picky. For good, Miu could have opened up as a character even better (although I haven’t gotten to her death) and she, with that emotional jumps, needs psychotherapy (like almost any Danganronpa's child). I hope her true fans took care of that, yeap..~
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
And finally Tenko 💚 Honestly, I didn’t expect she’d end up being my second favorite girl :0 thought I’d be completely neutral… But she’s wonderful. Really. Sincere, devoted, heartfelt and generous, bold and cheerful – a real lifelike fountain of energy!
The shortcomings that were embedded in her just for meme (it’s pretty obvious if you look at most of her sprites) even all together are no match with the shortcomings I don’t like about Kaede and Miu. On the contrary, the fact that her misandry and excessive attachment to Himiko are imposed on the player – exactly allows me to ignore them against the backdrop of adequacy, which she demonstrates most often. Misandry generally seems to me insignificant, because at certain times she felt sympathy / respect for both Shuichi and Kaito (who is considered the most manly man). Yeah, she can be fiery, she can be weird and she even got really clingy to Himiko, regardless of her personal boundaries, but until her own death Tenko was in a continuous personal movement. She is another character who has earned a longer life, but was just unlucky… in every possible way.
Meanwhile, I’m getting to the yellow category!
It’s ironic that here I put the girls who remained among the few survivors, and they’re supposed to have plenty of time for me to like they, yeah..? ^^”
But no, I’m definitely gonna be a little biased. This is the case when the first impression turned out to be so negative that there is hardly exists anything to block it. At most, my attitude towards them will develop into completely neutral… And I’ll be brief, ok.
Himiko seemed to me either boring (due to her slowness, passivity, immobility and completely childish way of thinking) or completely useless (for exactly the same reasons) from the start. She is morally weak, easily susceptible to stress and manipulation. Yes, later she's rehabilitated; she grows over herself, becoming a little more active and emotional, but that only happens after Tenko’s death.
And Maki. Maki I like much more than Yumeno – she might well be in the same category as Tenko/Kaede/Miu. Most of the time, she means well. Her story is worthy of sympathy. But the character and personality… So prickly, cold and detached... Even after «Kaito’s therapy» reinforced by Shuichi’s help and belief in the second trial, she keeps. leaving. her crude. insensitive. comments. like she’s the only sane person who knows everything.
Yes, I understand that transformation/adaptation requires more time and it would be so much weirder, if she become a sweetie-deary in just a couple of days… But really, she can be neutral or at least a little empathic-respectful, while staying true to herself! I even read an article in which the author complained that Maki's crush on Kaito had ruined her personality. And even though I haven’t gotten to chapter five where their relationship (Maki's crush) blossoms, I can partially agree. In both her and Himiko's cases, characters development occurs mainly due to the influence/death of another character = a potential lover that doesn’t seem right to me. Anyway, if my first impression changes, I’ll let you know.
The last one – gray category (I remind you that it doesn't mean full-fledged hatred!)
Tsumugi and Angie… Okey, first of all, Angie went down a great deal in my eyes after chapter three. REALLY. A LOT.
Earlier, based only on fanworks, I thought - well, she's funny. Strange, silly, a little creepy, but in general, she seems amusing and pleasant, maybe she's even a sunshine..? But NO. Not for me, at least. I had no idea how manipulative, selfish, thoughtless and – I'm not afraid of that word – insensitive person she really is, that (as it turns out from her FTEs) just got used to getting away with anything, because she’s a preacher. Her way of recruiting a new student into the student council sect just underlines just how dangerous she could be – and those who think it’s cute actually fall into her trap :'^
But really, she either scared me or simply annoyed. Especially with that habit of changing decisions on the go, contradict any logic, and hiding her own desires/intentions behind the mask of the divine's dictates. I’ve seen theories that she’s actually brilliant, and all her decisions were to the benefit of her classmates, but I don’t really understand what makes its authors think like that. She always acted to please herself. And only.
My reaction to Tsumugi is less intense perhaps. First of all, I don’t like her because she’s a Mastermind, and I treat all Masterminds equally. Their philosophy and way of "having fun" are simply not close and incomprehensible to me. Second, she’s creepy too. I am repelled by her artificiality, her feigned "ordinariness" and affectedness with which she maintains this label in herself. I’m afraid to imagine what happens when her mask falls.
And now… Yes, it turns out that this post will almost half of my (I underline) personal opinion about female characters, ahah!
But that’s because I love ALL the male characters in DRV3. No exceptions. Just the different shades of my love – and that’s what I reflect on the tier-list о/ Adoration, maternal love, tenderness, compassion, respect… I can’t even highlight what I don’t like in someone of them, 'cause all of them are dorks and the sweetest one!! No offence, the heart wants what it wants! 💞
Which means, finally, I can show you a huge (and a last, I promise, aphph) list of my feelings about this or that pairings!
I don’t want to go into too much detail here and to be too much negative either, so I'll explain only those positions that are important or/and funny.
First of all, I’ve had a big change of heart about Angie, so it's about pairings with her too. I’ll start with the so-called «traffic light» that in my eyes almost broke into pieces. Seriously, they were always drawn by such faitful, sweet besties… I'm almost disappointed. What healthy friendship is possible in a Himiko/Angie relationship, when Yonaga only used Yumeno’s weaknesses without conscience, trolled her on her own show and imposed illusions?? What friendship is possible between Tenko/Angie, if Chabashira was starting to literally fear Yonaga’s permissiveness at the end + never adhered to her principles and ideas (and Angie was indifferent to her most of the time)??
Only Tenko/Himiko are stand out from this circle of bewilderment. I still haven’t figured it out, that's right. For now I’m inclined to think that it’s a bad idea – Tenko’s energy was not combined with Himiko’s impenetrable passivity from the very beginning, BUT! they’d have a chance if Tenko was still alive and Himiko kept trying to understand her (and Chabashira, in turn, would reduce the rush on her).
Next, Shinnaga, i.e. Angie/Korekiyo… *sighs* Honestly, despite their location in a more neutral category «I don’t know why most people think it’s a good idea» – I’m starting to treat them more like to NOTP. Yeah, I realize, a lot of people think they’re pretty similar. They are both creepy, to some extent connected with occultism, with culture; they have the opposite kinda sun/moon aesthetics and character's dynamic, but… Ship Korekiyo with a manipulative, spoiled girl, who is accustomed to sectarian power and that all her wishes are fulfilled without bickering..? Are you serious..? It’s literally the same as pushing him against his sister’s figure again 😣 Sorry, Shinnaga's fans, but this is a decision I can never understand .-.
And now to a more positive stuff! o/
(because by the time I explain why Saimatsu isn’t working either, Tumblr is clearly not ready yet ahah ;))
The platonic has changed a bit..~ I've basically added the category «good friends only» and quite seriously consider that many of these pairs of students are able to become friends. Especially I was pleased with some intersections between Gonta and Kiyo | Kibo and Kiyo, because Shinguji clearly lacks someone to share his interests (in addition to Rantaro and Shuichi).
But why Gonta and Kibo exactly? Well,
Korekiyo’s quite capable of teaching Gonta to be a gentleman from a cultural point of view
Gonta can always be interested in stories about bugs, and all Kiyo wants is a heareth disciple/listener
Kibo is interested in Japanese/Asian culture + all human aspects, in which Korekiyo is generally the main expert. [Yes, it may be difficult for Shinguji at first because of the slight robophobic prejudices, but he’ll get over it just by thinking about what a Kibo is really a delightful product of human labor!]
Of the girls, Kirumi and Tenko were included in the category of besties, as those whose personalities Kiyo most admired.
Kirumi herself finds Kiyo admirable (just read her thoughts about him on the Official Relationship Chart) + they are matched with temperament, love of similar aesthetics + she possesses such devoted, caring, "maternal" nature.
While with Tenko, as paradoxical as it is… Kiyo could discuss similar problems. This cloudy subject with inc*st and unhealthy attachment to a certain person… I feel like they could understand each other a little.
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Kaede, for some reason, became the queen of the lesbian party for me XDD But really, she pays a lot of attention to girls at first acquaintance – she called Tenko cute, Tsumugi sexy (and get under her skirt), was kneeling before Miu (although they bickered each other a lot and measured by breast size lol). I just think it’s kinda fun!
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
And almost all pairings with Kokichi turned out either self-destructive or destroying the world xD With Angie and Tsumugi in particular, they would have made the apocalypse; and Miu, Tenko, Maki, Kiyo and Rantaro, in my opinion, will gladly line up "ready to rip off Ouma’s head" line. That's just the way he is..:-) Hard to understand, units can handle it 😅
But that’s where I stop! As you may have noticed, I REALLY love DRV3 cast 😊😅 Tier-lists are just the beginning – next I would like to present my thoughts about Chapter 3 and Korekiyo’s role in it..;) That's the subject when I can’t be stopped... thanks for your attention and until next time, ehehe! ~
oh, and my askbox is always open!! see ya ✨

One of the themes in Goncharov I found fascinating considering its timeframe and setting is the idea of surviving despite everything. Despite the violence, the destruction, the uncertainty, you can still make it through. It also ties into the theme of how the characters' perpetuate a cycle of violence. Circumstances may change, but the method of handling it stay the same.
This is highlighted by the two gangs featured, one affiliated with the Russian Mafia and the other the Italian Mafia. The two groups were changed by the events of WW2, and had adapted to survive in the new society they found themselves in. Still, their methods of how to handle things stay the same throughout it all, which at its core is violence.
The characters go through this in their own ways. Everyone ends up resorting to violence to deal with their circumstances. However, this ends up being a, literally, fatal flaw for them. They lean too much into their ways and they end up facing brutal consequences. Ice Pick Joe's murders come back to him and he dies with his weapon in hand. Goncharov is killed after having betrayed everyone, getting a taste of his own medicine. Katya can make anyone disappear, but that leads to her own unknown status.
What they all fail to realize is that they needed to survive, not just succeed. They were so deep in what they thought was their only choice that they couldn't see the opportunities they could have taken to change these circumstances.
Sofia, however, seems to be the only character to break her own cycle. Everyone else dies in the end, but she was able to look away from everything just long enough to accept these opportunities. This is why she ends up as the sole survivor of the film. It can seem like an act of cowardice, like she ran away from her problems, but I believe it was a successful act of self preservation. She realised it wasn't worth sticking around to see if things got better. You can't help anyone if you're dead.

Kodaka’s In-Character Birthday Tweets Masterpost
My meds are working so I’ve been Doing Stuff Again, and that includes impulsively finding and archiving every single Danganronpa in-character birthday tweet that Kazutaka Kodaka has posted on Twitter between 2017 and now. Plus some translations.
There do seem to be some birthday tweets before 2017, but they don’t include pictures and I’m not sure I want to scour Kodaka’s Twitter any deeper than I did.
Warning, this is really, really long. If there’s any I missed, feel free to let me know.
I think I might include Instagram birthday messages in a separate post- Kodaka seems to write longer ones there. I might also make another post for the miscellaneous in-character tweets. Don’t quote me on that, though.
Translation Info
A quotev compilation of fan translations. Only goes through 2017 to 2018.
Tried my best to find all the Spike Chunsoft translations- they’re linked next to the character’s name. Though, some of them aren’t really accurate.
Found some Tumblr fan translations which are also linked next to the character’s name.

Breaking the Ice
read it on the AO3 at https://ift.tt/AgcPkbT
by ToxicPineapple
“Amami-kun?” Gonta prompts. Their voice is gentle, but uncertain. When they open their mouth again, it’s probably to apologise, so Rantaro speaks first.
“Spaced off again,” Rantaro says. He ties the last knot on his skates and stands up. Despite everything, he doesn’t waver as the blades hit the carpet, but of course keeping his balance off the ice was never an issue. A part of Rantaro is still relieved, though, and even more so when Gonta instinctively reaches out to steady him. He doesn’t really need it, but there’s something about having Gonta near, looking at him, holding his elbow… it makes him feel calmer. Even if this goes terribly, they’ll just go out for coffee afterwards and make plans to try again another day.
This isn’t your last shot, Rantaro reminds himself, closing his eyes and taking a breath. The ice isn’t going anywhere, and you aren’t either, if you’ll quit being a coward about it.
“I’m ready, Gonta,” Rantaro manages, looking up to meet their gaze.
---
A year after his career ending head injury, Rantaro finally steps back onto the ice.

@post-and-out - i have finished oaei third write, so here are your additional words! i picked junmugi for them; i hope that's okay!
The world is full of greys. Slate for the concrete, gravel the color of her shoes, charcoal tied around her neck, storm icing her nails no matter what color she tries to paint them. It’s always the same. Grey on grey on grey. Not even anything stark enough to be black or white, just an endless expanse of….
It’s like being stuck in an old television show like I Love Lucy or The Munsters. No matter where she looks, it’s all the same. Except, of course, that those are both comedies, and her life is just....
Plain.
Achingly ordinary.
Boring.
Tsumugi goes from one class to the other, from school to the home she shares with her family and back again, in a methodical cycle, one that seems nearly infinite. Eventually, school will become work, and she’ll share her home with an entirely different family; eventually, there will be no more work, only children of her own to raise. It’s all already plotted out for her, the same boring, normal, plain life that everyone else lives. Maybe more than everyone else – at least the other kids at school find clubs that interest them, friends to spend time with.
But no one ever finds Tsumugi Shirogane, and if she’s really honest with herself? She doesn’t think anyone ever will.
Until—
@zyrafowe-sny - i finished oaei third write, and here are your additional words from witch hood!
Fay pushes her fingers through Goldie’s fur, giving her scritches the same way you might a stray cat or dog, and doesn’t look up at you when she says, “You’re sure you don’t want to understand bear? You’ll never need to speak it; Goldie still understands us well enough as she is.”
You shake your head. “I can follow her back. I don’t need to hear her.”
Fay’s eyes darken, but she doesn’t try to change your mind. Goldie pads away from her and nudges your arm with her cold, wet nose; you flinch. “You should go now,” Fay says, “but I must ask – why were you so far into the woods? Why were you lost?”
“Papa’s wife wanted me to find herbs for her,” you say, glaring down at Goldie, who just nudges you again. “She wanted me to make her some of the stuff we make together, and she wanted me to save them money by finding herbs from the clearing where we get it. I told her I wouldn’t be able to find it without you, but she wouldn’t listen.” You step back before Goldie can nudge you again. “I’m not going to pet you! Stop that!”

@musaeon || starter call!!
{ ♫ } ❝ shirogane-san, do you think you could teach me about cosplaying? ❞
there was no lead-in to this conversation. kaede had just walked up to the blue-haired girl and dropped this question right away.
it wasn’t that she was interested in the idea of cosplaying itself, so much as she was interested in the process that went into making the costumes. learning a skill like that could be useful for making her own recital outfits, after all!
❝ i’d love to learn all the little steps and details that go into making all the outfits! it’d be perfect for helping me come up with the right outfit for all my upcoming recitals! ❞
#musae#;ic post#v; tbd#went with tsumugi for this but if you'd rather get a starter for maki just lemme know!
