Desde Puigcerdá en España, a una media hora andando está la estación de Bourg-Madame. El Tren Amarillo es un tren turístico que va hacia Perpignan. Atraviesa altos valles pirenaicos hasta Villefranche, que es una pequeña ciudad amurallada muy interesante.

Muy cerca de Bourg-Madame, está Ur, una aldea.

Ciel: Yes, of course I am. I have been dying to learn what you requested I not only clear the next week for, but also had me pack for a trip that took just as long. Where do you plan on taking me?

Jaune: Well, I just so happened to come across a couple tickets to ride on a certain Valean Hill Steam engine - the 5000 series Grand Dad?

Ciel: ... You're joking ...

Jaune: What? About buying us each a ticket to ride on the last remaining train of the largest Steam Series ever built? er- Built in 'large' quantity at least. You talked about an Atlesian prototype that was bigger, but failed.

Ciel: ... We get to ride on the 5025?

Jaune: Yep!

Ciel: ... *Crying* You're the best thing to ever fucking happen to me!

Jaune: Whoa- Hey! You alright?

Ciel: Alright? Jaune, I'm fucking ELATED! I- this is the best thing you could've possibly done- I feel Lightheaded! This is incredible!

Jaune: Well, I also jumped for the private tour and maintenance-

Ciel: I GET TO BLOW THE WHISTLE!

Ciel: ... When must we leave for it?

Jaune: I think we should be in the station by ... One O'clock.

Ciel: Can we push it to One-Thirty?

Ciel: Because before I ride that Train, I'm going to ride you. Sexually, I mean.

Jaune: ... We may be able to push it to Two-

Ciel: One-Thirty is long enough

Jaune: Okay.

Jaune had 3-1 odds on him winning the match, and considering he had put everything he had on himself... he had to win. One could ask why Jaune was where he was. Inside a chain-link cage, circling another young man.

Attending Beacon was expensive, and his fairly substantial savings was continually declining so he needed lien and in substantial quantities. So he did some digging and located an underground fight club... and joined as a combatant.

With active aura he was in the "Aura User's" division, and this was his first match, but the second of the night's card. Bringing his heavily wrapped hands, he began to slightly bounce on the balls of his feet... it was time.

"Next match! Arc vs Birch!" yelled the announcer. "Place you bets!"

Jaune wasn't sure what style Birch was using, as his stance seemed very similar to the one Jaune had taken. Unknown to everyone at Beacon, Jaune was not as untrained as they all assumed. While he has barely any talent with the sword and board, he was not completely without skills. His family was Valean, and were longtime practitioners of a very Valean style of unarmed combat.

"FIGHT!"

Jaune and Birch closed, touched fists and then began to circle one another. Jaune dodged back avoiding a leading punch from Birch and replied with a hard round-kick to Birch's exposed ribs, followed up with a flurry of jabs and straight hands.

Birch backpedaled, getting out of Jaune's range, and composed himself. Jaune didn't push his advantage. One attempted strike by his opponent wasn't enough for him to come up with an effective attack plan.

The cheers and jeers of the crowd surrounding the cage, fell upon the ears of both fighters, as the continued to circle, throwing out feinting punches and kicks testing the defenses and responses of the other. Birch finally having enough of the testing moved in fast and hard with a flurry of punches, forcing Jaune to cover up as he attempted to move sideways out of Birch's range.

Throwing an off-balance round-kick Jaune instantly chambered and fired off a side-kick catching Birch straight in the gut. With Birch's momentum stalled, Jaune reset his base and retaliated, unloading with a barrage of round-kicks to the body and the head. Birch unwilling to just be a target dummy closed in and was rewarded with a straight punch to the face, followed by a nasty right-hook to his exposed chin.

Seeing Birch rocked, Jaune moved in fast and hard. Slamming Birch's ribs on the right side with a hard round-kick, Jaune hopped and twisted his body hard and fast bringing his left across and into the side of Birch's head with a head high round-kick.

Jaune knew from how Birch stumbled and shook his head, that his bell had been rung. With a hop forward Jaune planted a push-kick to Brich's face taking him off his feet and causing his head to crack against the very thinly padded cement floor.

The announcer who also served as the official rushed forward and after a quick check, stood grabbed Jaune's wrist and raised his hand into the air.

"Winner! ARC!"

Jaune took a couple deep breaths as the fevers of the crowd followed the rain of useless betting slips. He was satisfied. One match and he was once again solvent.

I truly think them making Jaune supposedly from a line of heroes was a mistake. I'll need to see how his family is if they show them in seasons 6-9 but for now what we know doesn't track.

A common trend amoung RWBY characters is the writers almost needing to have them come from somewhere important and it's so strange.

Blake suddenly being the daughter of the man who founded the white fang despite her parents never being mentioned/it almost being implied that she was orphaned or from a low class family. Pyrrha, Weiss, Ruby, and Yang get set up and we know they come from importance. And yes in Volume 1 Jaune does come from somewhere.

But out of the main characters that matter only Ren and Nora really get to escape from any of their family mattering and I don't know if it stays that way in later seasons.

Jaune himself though would very much benefit from just being a nobody from a village where technology was maybe a bit behind the times. He knows nothing about aura or semblances, and if his family had important warriors, they should've had that knowledge to pass down. Not to mention him getting to be leader of JNPR when everything in the show says Pyrrha was simply the better choice. Him sneaking into beacon gets dropped so quickly as a plot point that it doesn't even seem matter.

I dont hate Jaune but his backstory really doesn't work and there are simple fixes they could've taken that unfortunately they didn't.

i think the only thing that would actually get cardin to get along with pyrrha of his own free will would be losing jaune. both of them mourning this stupid blonde together. becoming maybe-sorta friends through shared grief

What Dragon from How To Train Your Dragon would you give each member of RWBY and JNPR?

I remember someone asking someone else this a while ago and I forget all that I said then but if memory serves;

I think I gave Ruby a Razorwhip to keep the whole "Fury" line pretty uncommon and avoid making Ruby too much of a Main character beyond her team.

I think Weiss should have either a Wooly Howl or a Snow Wraith (Because Ice)

Blake got a Changewing I think. Or a Horde of the Smokey Guys.

Yang either got a Hideous Zippleback (Ember and Celica) or a Monstrous Nightmare (Because. Well. Burn.)

Jaune gets Rumblehorn. I think it fits him best.

Pyrrha gets a Stormcutter, because I believe it fits her Versatility quite well.

(And there's another reason I think these two should get these Dragons. If you know you know.)

Nora should get either a Thunder Drum or a Skrill. Or a bunch of those guys that followed Gobber around in HTTYD3.

Ren could also get a Changewing, or a Deathstriker. (Though one could Argue that one fits Tyrian Better, I think Deathstrikers deserve better than being a Bad Guy Dragon™.)
