Serena: hurt but is the one to move on the faster methinks. I bet she would see just how close and similar they are and understand that indeed, for Ash to be with someone, it should be someone that lives in the same wavelenght as him.

Alola fam: surprised about it but the moment they train or do a double battle they can understand why they're together. They adopt Dawn into the fam right away and the girls just steal Dawn for a whole day to learn everything they can about her.

Goh and Chloe: heartbroken, their crushes are dating eachother and they cant even be mad at them cause they look happy together.

Shamus is... oh my god. Okay first of all, i should preface that I've always loved 'bad' characters. My other #1 blorbo is Arlo from pkmnGO, if that tells you anything. I like Chloe MLB, I like Sharpay Evans, I like Brooke lps popular. Idk what it does to my brain psychologically I just think theyre oh so neat.

With Shamus (ik its a typo but i Love 'shams' btwz stealing that!) at first it was largely his design. I mean look at him! His eyes are so unique, the small irises, the white pupils, even the overall shape of them is one not really seen anywhere else? Not many other pokeani characters look like him. It's something I like about best wishes in general, I think I like Cilan for the same reason.

Another point to my initial love for him is the fact that he isn't even on the COTD list on bulbapedia. Because he technically does show up earlier, in one of tepig's flashbacks. As someone that ALSO loves pokemon COTDs and characters no one else remembers (another one of my favorite characters is EDMUND. the guy that showed up for two seconds and wasnt even on the end card?! YEAH.), you can imagine my surprise when he showed up out of left field!! Like okay weirdo where have you been hiding!

I also love tepig in general, its probably my favorite starter overall (not counting piplup. my love for piplup surpasses 'favorite' status) - I know it seems counterintuitive to love tepig and then also become obsessed with Shamus, but... Idk! Watching Shamus' episode means I get to see more tepig!

But honestly the majority of the reason he's attached to my brain like a parasite is my own personal headcanons. In the same way people headcanon Reggie and Paul to be Brandon's sons... I also hc Shamus to be! In EvJ specifically, hes Reggie and Paul's half brother from Brandon's "i miss my wife i need to have relations with a woman that looks vaguely like her" infidelity episode. I think Brandon was only with Saoirse (the oc we nade up to be Shamus' mom. the autism runs deep.) a couple times, buuut it was enough to make Shamus!

Shamus is Brandon's bastard kid that he doesn't talk to that much and when he does it's because Shamus is in trouble for something. He didn't get to bond with Brandon much at all and as he grows up a lot of his "I need the best pokemon ever, i cant have failures" comes from the exact same place that it does for Paul - Trying to prove themselves to Brandon. The main difference between them is that Shamus is also... Highly manipulative. Love him for it! He developed it pretty early on when trying to get out of trouble, turning on the waterworks so his mom wouldn't call his dad on him.

Listen, in my hc hes only 12 at the time we see him in Best Wishes(and Ash is 15). I dont believe hes ever going to get a grand redemption arc, but I do think he'll grow up to be just Some Guy that his dad can't bring himself to be proud of. I just can't realistically see him becoming that ultimate 'good person' archetype like Ash, or even having a turnaround the same way Paul does. He's just some guy.

Oh also he's gay. Obviously. And Obviously he has issues relating to the fact that hes gay. Also his wholeass soulmate is Sawyer xy but he never even meets him so it doesnt matter.

Hi Ez!! I hope you're having fun with your assignment, I have some photoshop assignments due this weekend. I've been watching Durarara, I just started season two and I like it very much, I haven't really played any games lately because I've been so busy.. I want to start Ace Attorney 3 and Persona 1. I usually play video games with my boyfriend at night, but it's been hard since we're both busy at night most days now. so, last night i was in voice chat with @freakurodani & @kanoyachi and we were talking a lot about pokemon which led to me talking about how i think suga and iwa would really enjoy pokemon WHICH then led to me making the decision to figure out what starter they would have picked each gen.

which then expanded to hinata, oikawa, kuroo, and kenma as well because i wanted to make a chart.

list + commentary below the cut

hinata: squirtle, totodile, torchic, chimchar, oshawott x2, chespin, litten, scorbunny, fuecoco

he picked oshawott again in BW2 because he is loyal to his little guy <3 it would have felt wrong for him to pick a different one, he didn't want to abandon him.

he was very disappointed with chespin's final evolution and i think he was really excited when kenma traded him a froakie and he was able to evolve it into greninja which he ADORES.

also!! he named his litten after kenma and would send him pictures of his 3DS screen to share the progress. he thought it was really funny when it evolved into incineroar fjsdklfjds.

suga: bulbasaur, totodile, torchic, piplup, oshawott, tepig, froakie, popplio, sobble, fuecoco

i think he picked popplio and assumed he would evolve into some silly goofy clown guy but he wasn't disappointed with primarina at all, he adores him even if it wasn't what he was expecting.

on the other hand, he was so disappointed by sobble's final evolution and he felt strongly enough about this to actually box inteleon. it was a hard decision to make but he couldn't stand it.

also, i think his favorite out of all the starters is totodile. he's got a special place in his heart.

iwaizumi: charmander, totodile, treecko, chimchar, tepig, snivy, chespin, litten, grookey, fuecoco

so, all of the controversial final evos here (emboar, chesnaught, incineroar, and rillaboom to a lesser extent)? yeah, iwa loves them. he thinks they're cool. he sees a big buff bipedal pokemon and he's like "this rocks" and he will argue with people about this (mainly oikawa).

oikawa: squirtle, chikorita, torchic, piplup, snivy, oshawott, fennekin, popplio, scorbunny, sprigatito

is probably the most casual player here, i think he keeps up with it because he and iwa has always played together since they were kids and it's a tradition of sorts.

the only reason he didn't pick snivy again in BW2 was because iwa told him that snivy reminded him of him and oikawa was like "i don't know why but this feels like an insult" (it wasn't, iwa was being kinda gay) so he picked oshawott instead. and he specifically picked oshawott over tepig because iwa picked tepig in the first game. also i don't think he's a fan of the buff bipedal pokemon.

kuroo: charmander (outside hitter), cyndaquil (middle blocker), treecko (middle blocker), turtwig (assistant coach), tepig (ace), snivy (manager - kenma helped him get a female one), fennekin (setter), litten (outside left hitter), sobble (middle blocker), sprigatito (setter)

picture this. little kuroo meets little kenma. kuroo introduces kenma to volleyball, in return kenma introduces kuroo to pokemon. kuroo takes one look at pokemon, sees that a pokemon team is made up of six pokemon and goes "whoa this is just like volleyball". when kuroo plays pokemon, he names each pokemon the position that he thinks they would play. kenma thinks this is weird, and when he was a kid he was very much like "you're playing it wrong." now as adults he just minds his own business.

with this lore in mind, we also went ahead and decided which position he would assign these pokemon (based off of their final evos specifically)

also. important to note that kuroo, unlike suga, really likes sobble's final evo. he thinks it's cool. he keeps this to himself.

kenma: charmander, cyndaquil, mudkip, chimchar, oshawott, snivy, froakie, scorbunny, sprigatito

he usually is very strategic with the pokemon he picks but these ones are specifically just ones i think he would pick based off of vibes if he was doing a super casual/laidback run.

scorbunny reminds him of hinata.... he names his scorbunny shouyou :3

adding in at the end, i wouldn't mind maybe doing this for another six characters if anyone has suggestions of characters they think enjoy pokemon. (i know yamaguchi canonically is probably a pokemon fan as well but i am not a yamaguchi expert)

I'm Marius! I am a writer of travel reports and gay fiction for all age groups and a huge history nerd. After completing my studies at Uva-Naranja, I was actually expected to return to my home region and work a different job. However, thanks to a very supportive group of friends and my partner pokemon Spot, I decided to pursue my dreams and Spot and I have been on the road ever since.

Fun facts about me and my time

✨️ Spot and I met during a particularly harsh winter in my home region when she (still as a Vulpix back then) followed me on my way home from the school I went to prior to the Academy in Paldea.

✨️ Spot likes it when we just sit somewhere cosy and I brush her fur for hours and talk to her (and somehow it kinda feels like she talks back).

✨️ Eduardo was my second ever pokemon and is always up to something.

✨️ Gregory was fully evolved when I caught him.

✨️ I am constantly on the go and don't exactly have a huge budget (not doing badly financially - just feeding a full team and myself and having to find accommodations) so when I have some extra cash I really like putting that into a spa day.

✨️ I got gifted an Ice Stone for my 5th anniversary of being with Spot and that's basically the story of how she evolved.

✨️ Lucien has an intense rivalry with my friend's Meowscarada.

✨️ Piotr was the only time I ever saw a pokemon egg hatch and raised that myself.

✨️ Spot looks like a shiny when she terastalises (and on that note - no I have no idea why here Tera type is Ghost but before I met her I wanted to be a Ghost-type specialist)

✨️ Precious is the only wild Tera pokemon I ever caught and I got given my Tera Orb because I talked the teachers into it after catching her.

✨️ Precious likes to come out and stare at the moon for hours during nighttime.

✨️ Romeo was given to me as an Eevee by a very eccentric playwright.

✨️ Gregory has such a soothing presence.

✨️ Romeo knows Flamethrower. A move I'm 100% certain he shouldn't know. I've always assumed it's linked to Terastalisation and Tera Blast not working outside of Paldea.
