Anyway! Jason starts making videos on YouTube for one reason or another (is really stressed, no one listens to his rants Abt books who cares). His content is mostly bad books he read or really really really long rants Abt pride and prejudice. Like 3 hours on one tiny detail he noticed on his 214th read through.

He's kinda popular, mostly bc his terrible books videos. He talks Abt the ones that made him the most mad, which coincidentally are mostly romance and supernatural. Like he's one of the well known figures in the supernatural romance critique group (whcih is pretty small, but well). (Also he doesn't show his face on camera, bc secret identity and stuff, it's just his voice over a video of something mundane, like the sky or a room in which is a fly or something)

And now this can go two ways, that i can think of (w dead on main in mind at least)

1) one day Jason finds a book which is supernatural romance and is actually good. It has a kidna cliche system for the supernatural stuff, but with a refreshing twist. The characters have depts and flaws, yet are still very likable. The plot is actually interesting and overall the story's theme is death, not belonging anywhere and overall stuff that is very close to Jason's heart. The story doesn't shy away from violence and it is suprisingly accurate.

Anyway Jason kinda falls in love w it, and it becomes famous for being the first novel Jason rated positively or something.

Meanwhile Danny, who was told by jazz writing is good way to get his feeling out, and just wanted to make a quick buck, is really fucking confused how tf did his book become so popular and who tf is this nerd who rates books for a living.

2) there is a famous series on Jason profile. It's the worst fucking series he ever read and it's just fucking awful. All the characters are fucking terrible, always going on and on about one thing, the romance sucks in a way that isnt even funny. Jason would love to believe some wrote this as a joke, if it wasn't for the absolute cringefest this was, and it wasn't a whole ass series!! Like who writes 12 books for a joke?

Danny ducking Fenton that's who. Dude was so ducking annoyed at his rogues, he threatened them w writing a terrible romance novels abt them. The ghosts, knowing his terrible grade in literature backed off for a moment, before someone crossed the line. And write Danny did. It was the worst thing he had ever written, the love interest was perfect caricature yet still faithfully go the original. And Danny, because fuck them he lost sommuch sleep over that one prank, decided to publish it. (The book was pretty thin so it didn't take that much time writing it). Unfortunately it became immensely popular in the infinite realm. So the ghosts started crossing lines on purpose. Before Danny figured it out, he had already published his fifth book and was writing another three. After some bargaining, getting a book written Abt them as a piece of shit love interest became a reward.

And while yeah, he had to say his writing was terrible and the books sucked, some small part of him was kinda proud y'know? Like a mother of her twelve ugly as fuck toddlers.

So when he saw some nerd on the internet not only shit talk his book, but also get money of it?

Danny decided to haunt him (just like his books did him, now that everyone knew Abt them thanks to this guy)

Bro I'm still sick of these tired ass redditors and they weak ass arguments against Cullen. They keep regurgitating these same tired talking points about how he's so racist and weird and it's just UGH.

I was literally talking to one on Reddit the other day, I got downvoted after I disproved their shitty argument.

Apparently, to them, having severe PTSD is not an excuse to be, y'know, TRAUMATIZED, and his distrust and hatred of mages was uncalled for and weird. Ok bro

They say that he killed 3 apprentices, which wasn't even confirmed and was only implied before it was later retconned and confirmed to be a rumor. They use this all the time to say he's a bad person and should be 'held accountable'.

One person even said he was racist towards elves, and everyone up voted them as if it was true, lmfao. No where in the series has he ever been shown to be racist towards elves, and atp they just talking out they ass.

And out of all, my least favorite 'talking point' with these people is when they say he's a pervert/rapist. This point is so tired, just not true, and downright WEIRD. they see that Cullen had a crush on Amell/Surana, and they fucking ran with it.

Somehow, having a crush on someone is now creepy. He was literally 19, and teenagers have wack hormones. (I would know, I am one.) He was respectful the entire time, albeit awkward. When you proposition him, he literally runs away.

They got the 'rapist' thing from some writer who gave their two cents about Cullen's character, and how THEY thought he MIGHT act, even though this person has nothing to do with his actual writing.

And to make it worse, these people have a weird obsession with making him 'pay' for his transgressions, as if he already isnt repentive enough, and tbh, he didn't do anything too wild. He was following orders, and from what we saw in DA2, never did anything outrageous.

Someone even said they thought the Inquisitor should have the option to have Cullen executed, which is total BULLSHIT.

Most of these talking points came from someone I was talking to on Reddit, and they were literally a Blackwall romancer. Blackwall. Thom Rainier. The nigga that actually ordered and partook in the murder of an entire family. Kids included.

Then proceeded to run away and hide from his crimes by pretending to be a Grey Warden. If the Inquisitor steps in, there's a chance he literally never gets what's coming to him, and can be let off the hook. 😐.

I swear, some of these people are actually 🧠 💀. These redditors are literally full of shit.

Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal? (not a webtoon, just an online comic)

Literally one of my favorite stories of all time. Like not just my favorite webcomic, or my favorite comic, but of all the pieces of literature I've read this one is one of the best.

The art is good in so many ways. It had a level of skill in capturing tiny, quiet moments and the thought processes going on in people's heads in ways that I've only ever seen elsewhere in Berserk and Chainsaw Man. But on top of that it also has this uncanny ability to make you feel the temperature of a location. I have no idea how to describe it, but you can feel the smokiness of a bar, the sweatiness of a long drive, the chill of a summer night, and the warmth of another person being very very close. No other comic I've read has ever been able to capture this feeling.

And of course all of this just enhances the story. I literally do not care about romance. Like I can't tell you why I read so many romance fantasies cause it sure as hell isnt for the romance. But the way the relationship between these two characters grows over time doesn't even feel like romance, that word feels a little too cinematic for it. It feels magnetic, not through electricity nor is it fast, but more like watching two magnets on a table slowly slide towards each other. It's wordless, inevitable, but still an amazing force of nature to witness. I guess the best way to describe it is that it isn't a "will-they-wont-they." It's a "They-are." The characters feel so incredibly human.

And all of this makes the story sound very high-and-mighty, but it really isn't. It's intimate and down-to-earth, funny and relatable, and also a little quiet. There are of course conflicts and tensions as there are with most every story, but they're handled in an extremely understandable way. Describing the events almost does the story a disservice, as presenting what happens without the way it's communicated robs the series of it's grounded feel.

So yeah I could go on for hours haha. Basically it's really fucking good and I recommend it to literally everyone always.

A quick list of animes I watched and don't want to forget 3:

Satsuriku no Tenshi - perfect for halloween, it was a short story with an easy to forget plot and characters I could root for. Tbh it hooked me with the never ending suspense and Zack. And I'll never forget the heartbreak at the end. So toxic and broken and tragic. The horror elements were fun, sometimes scary even so 7/10! Demon slayer - Its a bingeable shounen. The story is mid, the animation is cool, the MC is kind and likeable + i love how they show us the difference between "city japan" and "rural japan" (especially technology and behaviour-wise), but the constant screaming and second hand embarrassement is just too much. And besides getting stronger and using better techniques there are no character arcs (as of in S2). The boar + thunder kid just ruined the whole series for me t_t And the mountain peasant/animalistic superpower schtick is boring as hell after an episode or two. 6.5/10

Samurai Champloo - y2k graffiti/breakdance meets samurais. Boi, what an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G anime! The AV, OST, art style, all the fight scenes and character design... all of it is 10/10. Of course the found family trope can never be trumped, however the story itself was adventurous, not repetitive (except for them never having money lol), captivating, witty and emotional when it needed to be. Also the episodes tie into each other a lot, which makes the storytelling natural (+ its not just episodes put in order). The MC's are all 3D with weaknesses, believable behaviors and distinct manners + they have easy to remember names and styles. Watching the messy trio's friendship come to live is something I want to witness again for sure.

Konosuba! - A surprisingly bad and adorable parody of the isekai genre that I could only watch all the way through after the 3rd attempt. Most characters are completely helpless/stupid/naive but in an oddly charming way. The MC is ofc a pervert neet that is insufferable, but his oversexualized companions are cute, their friendship is cute, and their boobs are huge. Watch it while having dinner 6/10

Ouran highschool host club - light hearted and stupid and has some second hand embarrassement, but its a must watch! I wish the artstyle was different tho :/ 8.5/10

The Apothecary Diaries - Sherlock Holmes meets chinese historical romance fanfic. Beautiful, captivating and rewatchable. Very dreamy (but i have a feeling that theres going to be a lot of drama and sadness in the future? idk i havent started the light novel yet) 9/10

Midnight Occult Civil Servants - its so much more worth it than ppl think! Yes, the power of friendship is strong in this one, buuuut 1) its not overdone 2) the story is not sugarcoated and there are some interesting philosophical topics that we touch throughout the episodes 3) even though the MC is a naive and ridiculously hard working boy, he learns a lot from his mistakes and kinda grows up. His friends are lovely too! I just wish that their design was a bit more detailed, the animation got a bit more budget and that we could have gotten a bit more chapters... 8/10!

Mignon - a korean BL manwha adaptation. Each episode is around 5 mins so the story isnt too complicated. It has vampires (why dont we get more of them nowadays??) and sexy man-love. 6.5/10

Golden Boy - It is a golden comedy (and educational) anime and it's so humorous that I actually laughed watching it. At first it seems annoying/ridiculous but from the end of the first episode I understood the premise and the point of the anime. The boy doesnt learn much, but the women around him do. 7.5/10

Kamisama Kiss - I loved it at the beginning and then felt really let down by it, cuz 1) I learned about the end of the story and got pissed off (because ***SPOILER ALERT who the fuck thought that giving up your occult superpowers and long life is romantic? WHO?***) and 2) it got so rushed at the end. The art style is not my favorite ad some of the frames looked cheap, but I loved the comical use of expressions and some of the designs were really cool. 6/10 (and -100/10 because of the ending of the manga. Seriously. Fuck that.)

Hori said that he likes when people fill in the blanks of stuff he leaves open ended, but that chapter almost does nothing of that lol.

OchaDeku communication is poor, Ochako's counseling is weird, Izuku is only a weekend hero, Katsudeku aren't a duo carrying All Might's legacy, neither is aiming to reach the top or competing, Kamijiro is weirdly debunked, society got to a point where heroes aren't needed, etc.

What is there to imagine? Not only was there nothing interesting, it also don't add any further speculations for the future. It just sloppily canonized a couple that ppl (other than a certain group) were indifferent towards. (And made quite a few others drop support for it and both characters in the process)

the only "fill in the blanks" you could do with this is becoming a conspiracy theorist/j

Ngl, the only depth and interest it sparks to me is the idea of it being so bad on purpose out of spite -it leaves nothing not to the fans, who still can create fanart and fanfics ignoring it or embracing the angst, but to the anime and movie studios. If they want to adapt BNHA including 431, theres no more story, no more movies set in the future, no extra anime involving the main characters, etc, using this material -the options are limited:

1- they could just make a random super villain appear and attack the country so the heroes have to keep to the state they were before the time skip, however this feels not only repetitive, but also even more insulting to the fans. You cant just say heroes arent needed and end the anime like that, just to create a random villain and force them to be needed.

2- the story cant follow the next generation -even tho we have two kids who want to be heroes in the epilogue during the time skip, heroes arent needed anymore. The problem of the previous point stays, and not only that, but could even make ppl dislike these characters, as it would feel like a boruto 2.0.

3- they cant focus on the romance as this isnt a romance anime and many fans dont give a fuck about this implied ship

4- they cant focus on the origin trio bc there arent any new adventures, and 431 just made izuku indifferent towards joining katsuki in the hero field, so no wonder duo neither

5- the only option is going back to the past, make them have summer adventures in high school, or continue with the 2nd and 3rd year. This is also risky, as many ppl felt kinda hopeless about BNHA after seeing 431 (in the way that nothing extra from their past matters, as the hopeful heroes arent a thing anymore and they'll just probably need to get new jobs sooner than later), so a part of the audience wouldnt bother with BNHA's adventures-of-the-past-that-lead-to-nowhere.

They could try to justify the ship, make it look less bad and all of that, but I find it interesting how with 431 they went out of their way to tell us how little deku cared about his relationship with uraraka in 431 -in the previous chapter, nothing led us to believe they didnt talk or weren't close anymore, there was no reason to do that and make them talk more after 8 years. If the problem was the confession aspect, they could have just make them close friends who are a little intimidated of ruining the friendship but still want to try it, instead of this which makes them look bad and weirdly ambiguous. There are many unnecessary things added to this chapter, like debunking Jirou and Denki even tho they are quite popular for different audiences and had a good baseline to work with, or making Midoriya not caring much about continuing hero work with Katsuki, even tho it was one of the fundamentals of the series.

i think i want to start with saying... i dont think your specific identity or internal feelings is actually the end all and be all of this or related discussion. i dont even think its the primary function of relation to this conversation. but... i think maybe that also gives people the leeway to... assume equal stakes... which? just isnt true?

so to starrrrrt. bitter aro? is just a term im using to describe.... confrontational aroism, aggressive? maybe even derisive? exhausted, tired, depressed, also all function. now... if your not in the spaces, the functions, the forums or the friend groups, maybe you don't know one of these or know what I mean by that?

in which case, thats where i say, go watch my 8 episode aro drama series. its fantastic. i said so in a post i made two years ago. the male deuteragonist? the leading man? the lanky tall guy? takahashi is one such guy. i characterize his "bitter aroism" as disaffection with the normative world, a sort of very visible defiance of it, and a deeply acted aroism that makes him off putting to people.

i also characterize it as deeply knowledgeable basis in aro concepts and theory, and the at least occasionally willingness to make that known. such things as the sociological construction of romance, knowledge of many queer identities, modes of existences and these people move through the world, and the theoretical and mechanical functions of amatonormativity.

in this regard even if you dont know a bitter aro, if you spend any time in marginal spaces or discussions you might still know a "bitter (other identity)". generally, the kind of people who know they have to defend their right to exist, and do it extensively, and yes, it makes them angry, frustrated, dismissive. at times.

so but. the aro discourse hasssss. changed a lot in the past. gosh. decade plus? and you may find. in a lot of places, maybe theres an assumed acceptance so like. huh? what? who are these bitter aro people defending themselves from...

like. i dunno, until youve been reading the blogs of these people, having the conversations, the quiet admissions when standing alone with them. if you dont witness their anger and hurt. like... what are we doing here.

so. i bring this all up to say. if you ever ARE. witnessing a bitter aro. and your... i dunno? confused. trying to be an ally but still... deeply enmeshed in your allo worldview. your thinking. whys this person so... incomprehensible to me. why do they seem so set on making themself miserable, on making me miserable. why is it so uncomfortable to be in this space with them...

okay given that im sasamiya posting rn im going to Assume you mean them but i was also posting about dunmeshi earlier so if you wanna hear about that too just let me know but AH. There is so much to sayyyy

Okay going to try and break it down to the basics here but sasamiya (or as its actual title, Sasaki to Miyano) is basically my mcu. my sasamiya-verse. there are two manga series currently ongoing in this universe but the world is in my hands and there are so many other fandom made one's i'll get into in a bit. But For Now.

Sasaki to Miyano's basic premise is- as copied from mdex because it really is worded best there- "It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!"

That's it. fun and simple and sweet gay love story set-up we love to see it. Except that it can never be so simple. Because the author, harusono shou, does this crazy thing called being a really good writer who creates beautifully alive characters for me to shake like maracas in my brain.

Like, you think it's simple. Miyano is a loveable bl fan who hasn't put much thought into his sexuality, Sasaki is the guy he successfully gets into his hyperfixation and they grow from that shared interest into an adorable relationship. But Then they hit you with the Miyano body insecurities and youre like hey, wait a minute. And then they caually show Sasaki displaying every single symptom of undiagnosed depression in his childhood and you have to stop and go hey... And then they have to have Hanzawa mother fucking Masato (lovingly said. absolute beloved character.) and you quickly realize that this isnt just some sweet romance story. it's a sweet romance story with the most quietly complicated character writing one only dreams of <- im biased and obsessed. may not be true to life but [shrugs] there is no one doing it like harusono and her thousands of words of character analysis that she has written about her own characters. i love her fr.

Im trying not to spoil things here really but it is genuinely such a lovely and interesting story, the light novels are literally my entire life, occasional side character Shirahama Kyouji is genuinely my favorite character and he probably has a total of 8 scenes in the translated manga so far. he was my blog theme for like 2 weeks straight earlier this year i am insufferable about him and everything he both is and isnt.

And that isn't even getting into Hirakagi. the agonies. Hirano to Kagiura, the technically prequel spin-off manga about sasaki's best friend and the gay shenanigans he gets up to with his roommate. they make me sob and also make me sick its great. could not reccomend it more even if you never read sasamiya or vice versa just one of them is such a great read.

The biggest appeal for me though is definately the fandom though. like i have been in So Many Fandoms as you can tell from the absolute chaos that is my blog, but ive probably only experienced this sort of fandom experience once before in my whole entire life. im so entrenched. the thing about being a, while popular, still very much a bl series that doesnt get much in terms of fan or official content, is that eventually something has to give. usually that means that the fandom is either dead or rarely gets talked about, which you would think to be true i you just looked at the main tags, but ive never been in a fandom that breathes to much... life?? into itself??? dont know how to word it. we make it work around here basically.

like after years of gaps between chapters we all collectively just went "okay how about we just do it ourselves" and essentially made the fandom into goncharov before there was ever a goncharov yk. like the actual story is really good and well done and then we all just went and made it our own to keep ourselves sane, and it worked!! we call it hanzawa to tashro!!! it is in our minds and also technically in the text. its so amazing here i cant even explain it well enough. my friends @/dirtbra1n @/aranarumei @/kagiuraakira and @/sunnnfish and so many others (we're all easy to find we stalk each other's blogs to talk about all of this) make awesome posts about it. #riverposting or #hanzawa to tashiro are good places to look if youre interested. i also talk about them A Lot over here to you can look through what I have too though a lot of it has like specific aus like #dating sim au and stuff tagged on mine, so the others are better bets for general meta posting fun. okay so. virasana empire books are good.

their world building is so much fun and it seems to be a series that promises a Happily Ever After every time.

there is magic and religion and psionics aliens and demons and mutants and knights and movies and hacking and blasters and space ships but MOSTLY its about love be that romantic or familial.

i recommend starting with the Sir Yaden books. Mostly about family. I started with the Pet and his Duke and assumed it was like. the only fn book of the world and only recently learned differently and have been devouring them ever since.

they're fairly short the first sir yaden book being 273 pages and the latest being 533

the sir yaden books focus a lot on psionics but its not complicated its basically element bending for the first few main characters.

theres switching viewpoints which apparently is now a point of contention all of the sudden despite being very common? anyways its limited to two characters per book usually with the latest barely having three but its not hard to keep up with.

theyre simply written books written more like fantasy in that regaurd than scifi despite the heavy leanings towards the later - they dont go super in depth into tech speak if thats not your thing but they do break down the rules of how magic things work if youre interested.

the basic run down of the sir yaden books is there's an empire that rules the known parts of the universe. the noble family is fucked up beyond all repair BUT their emperor is known as the good emperor and cares for each and every one of his subjects - that doesnt seem to be a load of crap either. so hes trying to make things right - even trying to slowly get rid of slavery.

the... enactors of his will are the lotus knights. they get to go out and be heroes and have movies made about them - which is more of a hassle than a benefit but Public Relations you know.

Sir Yaden becomes a lotus knight and in each book he goes out and saves the day... and brings someone home to be apart of his family. its cute and sweet and adventurous and cool and...

i will say the last book got much more serious than the rest. while bad things do and have happened to the characters its generally something that happened in the past and they're working towards making things better. here something bad happens on screen not as a flashback and youre like what the fuck the entire time.

but despite the trauma most of the characters have its a lighthearted series and the trauma and dark stuff isnt described in an... whump way (hurt comfort heavy on the hurt) its more about the comfort and the love

i wont say theyre brain candy because theres a little bit more substance to them than im used to for brain candy. more like... brain pastery.

the pet and his duke is a stand alone romance set in the same universe and i absolutely love and theres one more series in this universe that i just bought but havent read yet

I wasn't gonna put the fandom so this could be more general but fuck it. I wanna be specific about shit.

I've heard so many other people complain about this but it's MY turn. I HATE being apart of a dead fandom. Like please...! I just wanna talk about silly little characters from a stupid book, then movie adaptation, (The Maze Runner Series) and how everything clicks and works and the ideas for after the main books-

The only thing people talking about this story is the ship I enjoy but think is a bit overrated (Newt and Thomas). Sure they're cute, the actors also lowkey ship it, and the author has a lot of silly little nods about it but why not think about other ideas? Like I know everyone loves bringing up how Newt gave the letter to Thomas and not Minho his arguably closer friend, but it's not about the love between the characters. It's showing how he really is the, capital L, Leader. How he is trusted and a true person, how he is the opposite, in the eyes of the Gladers, to Teresa even though they had similar experiences. (Minus her watching her mother go insane which... God I hate that they didn't have that in the movie, but more on that later and also the whole mind reading.) I just feel like if you want romance there can be romance but you need to do it right. I saw this really good commentary about how writers need to learn how to write women because it's making their characters act gay because they are super dynamic and interactive until a women comes on and they have to "love her technically". Super funny but also that with gay/queer rep. Make the boys kiss, because they want to and not because they are two boys and that's hot or whatever.

Like, I'm having a hard time also finding queer spaces in this community, like I understand the leisurely enjoyment of gay and queer ships that needs to be normalized. A lot of women talk about enjoying it because of how men don't seem to respect women the way they do male friends and how they want that mutual respect. BUT the love feels weird when written with only the experience of straight relationships in mind, like it's not the same. Not the dynamics, or the feelings, because it is fundamentally different. Like that's how those hyper-femme twink with a super buff or hyper-masculine bear dynamics happen, which are fine i guess. But why not do more man! The ships that can be had are so gorgeous. And super fucking dynamic (god I use that word a lot) because of the complex inner world building that is done.

AND THE HATE ON TERESA-

She's not my favorite either, I have a hard time with that whole "The death of a few for the survival of the many", but GOD. She had her reason (watching her mother go insane at like 7), she was flawed, she was also A FUCKING CHILD just like the rest of them?! I don't hate her, personally, because her character is understandable and has attempts (and ultimate failures) at redemption, because she isnt meant to be redeemable! People who hate her and haven't read the books or heard about the books is excusable, because so much is explained in those pages that isn't even mentioned in the movies.

Like her and Thomas being connected psychicly! Or all the times that WICKED used her against her friends! She was so confused, manipulated, and abused that I doubt she even knew what was her or them anymore!

Anyways! I love these books (and also hate them all the same) and could go on amd on for hours-

First, we aren’t the ones who have made Gwyn’s entire personality about her trauma. You guys have.

- Gwyn cannot be a Lightsinger bc of her trauma

- Gwyn cannot be angst for Elriel bc of her trauma

- Gwyn cannot do anything of ill intent bc of her trauma

- Gwyn deserves to find love bc of her trauma

YOU all have created guidelines of what her character can and cannot be based on her trauma.

What’s funny though, is you guys never stop to wonder if she is in a place where she would actually be ready to try a relationship. She cannot even be sure she can leave the library for Nessian’s mating ceremony. Healing isnt just finding a boyfriend, but somehow that’s the most important part to you all.

Like you said, this is a romance series. And I’m sorry, but I think we can all agree that SJM isn’t the author to handle something as sensitive as a healing arc that deals with the trauma of being raped. She said she doesn’t even like to write scenes of the female losing her virginity bc of the power imbalance (and no, unlike some of you believe, Gwyn is still very much a virgin).

No one is denying Gwyn love in a future book, but it is incredibly sad the the fans who apparently care about her most, don’t actually care about her healing, the timeline of that healing, or whether or not she’s ready for a romance.

As you said yesterday, two years has been plenty of time to move on from her trauma, proving that you don’t give a flying fuck about her trauma, her healing, or this story being handle appropriately. You just want her with Az

I wonder what actual SA survivors would think about the timeline you’ve given Gwyn, since this would be a book that impacts them greater than the average reader? Two years, time to get a move on, yeah? Healing doesn’t happen just bc you want it to, and this comment shows you do not want her story done justice. Gwyn going back to the library, back to her shelter, shows she’s not ready. Her giving zero indication that she is interested in currently having a relationship shows she’s not ready.

If you want me to believe that any of you actually give a shit about Gwyn, show me you actually care about her healing outside of getting with Azriel. You NEED her healing to take place bc you want her with Az, not bc you want her to heal. If you just wanted her to find healing and happiness, there wouldn’t be a timeline you were shoving down her throat. But hey, you need that timeline so all the kinky shadow bondage nsfw art y’all commission doesn’t remain creepy af, right?

And Gwyn may not be real, but her trauma is real for too many people. Considering that fact, you would think you’d want her potential story done with the utmost care and consideration, not just a means to an end to get her with Azriel.

I feel sorry for Gwyn that she has fans like all of you. And I feel even more sorry for any survivors out there who encounter your timelines and your pressures for healing without even the slightest consideration for where that person is on their road to healing.

I have never known a group more determined to make Gwyn's entire personality her trauma than even Gwyn has herself.

This from the same people who have convinced themselves Lucien wants Vassa despite him not giving consent that he's interested in her romantically. After Lucien too suffered SA.

Gwyn is not real. She doesn't have to give her consent for us to imagine that a male she felt comfortable being alone with in the middle of the night with no one else around might be someone she is eventually interested in romantically.

A female who chooses to interact with Az during training, something you don't see with Emerie towards Az. Gwyn actively teases and seeks out conversation with him specifically.

She's shown more interest in Az after a few months than we saw from Elain after over a year. Looking at someone does not trump actually talking to them and that's about all Elain did in SF.

Using Gwyn's trauma as a reason to deny her the possibility of love in future books is an absolutely disgusting take in this fandom.

That's what healing journeys are about and trying to gaslight readers into thinking they're bad people for currently shipping Gwyn with Az just because she hasn't verbally stated "I want to sleep with you" at this point in the series makes you look like an enemy to SA victims, not an advocate.

I feel like folks who can't wrap their heads around the Lestat/Louis relationship are really struggling with this series. And I dont just mean the people who are against the relationship. I actually also mean the folks who're not really able to acknowledge how toxic it is. And the folks who're not able to acknowledge how Lestat is written to be extremely selfish and actually kinda racist...even as he also absolutely loves Louis.

Like, there is not a lot of difference between Lestat being impressed Louis is a customer at the Fairplay in episode 1, and the alderman's lawyer calling Louis an "exceptional Negro" in episode 2.

Now...it's not exactly the same. Lestat is impressed by how Louis has navigated a racist system while the lawyer is laying bare the racist stereotypes he believes about Black people. But they arent as far apart as Lestat would like to believe.

And, you'll notice that in the poker game scene in episode 1, Lestat telepathically tells Louis that he recognizes that the white men at that table are being racist. BUT what he says out loud is that he agrees with the white men there that capital has a higher value than labor. Essentially prioritizing his standing with the white men there over doing anything meaningful to defend Louis.

And so much of Lestat's thing is to demand to know why Louis suffers racist indignities at the hands of white men...indicating he has no understanding of the context of Louis life. But then also Lestat contines to fail to understand whenever Louis does defend himself and kill a racist white man.

It's also true that these two characters love each other. That's why they keep staying together through it all. It's ALSO true that what they love in each other at this point isnt really the foundation for a healthy relationship.

So to reiterate, I just feel like folks who cant wrap their heads around the very toxic nature of the relationship...are just going to end up frustrated. Cause it really is a "fucked up gothic romance."

this gal named squirrelflight flirts with a guy named ashfur a few times. typical 80s romance song. its quick, its fleeting. squirrelflight gets together with brambleclaw. its all real lovely. brambleclaw gets promoted to leader after squirrelflights dad goes into retirement and makes his deputy the chief. brambleclaw is now bramblestar

(before the promotion and after the marriage, brambleclaw leads the entire 4 clans to a new territory. not relevant. he also stabs his brother in the neck with a tent stake)

and then squirrelflights sister leafpool, who is a medicine cat and sworn into celibacy, has sex with a guy from windclan named crowfeather. this is something all the cats are sworn not to do. double illegal.

crowfeather is a bit of a whore because he was previously in love with another girl who went on a magical journey with him when he was a child. (brambleclaw was there for that too. brambleclaw is eternal and everywhere) the girl crowfeather was in love with got impaled by a falling stalagmite while protecting a tribe of savage feral cats with names very similar to english translations of a few native american names i know. interesting. racist? there was a mountain lion involved

yeah so they have sex and leafpool gets pregnant. but since she did two crimes in one she gives the kids to squirrelflight and pretends they belong to her and brambelstar. theres an uncomfortable birthing scene because the kids decided to emerge from her cat uterus in the middle of a snowstorm. this is very telling of their characters after birth

theres three kids. jayfeather lionblaze and hollyleaf. jayfeather is very angry. lionblaze is angry but in a brave way. hollyleaf loves rules. they are a legendary trio

theres a thing about superpowers, and a prophecy or something. jay is sickly and blind and can see peoples thoughts. lionblaze never loses any fights, ever, and he maims ashfur a little while theyre trianing. hollyleaf doesnt have any powers, but she is absolutely obsessed with the warrior code and gets caught up with a guy named sol who says the world is gonna end. none of this is relevant except the "bootlicker hollyleaf" thing

ashfur is stewing. ashfur has been stewing for years now. long enough that they literally brought all 4 clans across the continent to a new territory kind of stewing. hes lonely. he misses the girl he was madly in love with, and shes married to the coolest guy in town. hes in agony. (over in windclan, crowfeather has a new girlfriend. manwhoring as long as he lives)

theres a big fire. thunderclans entire territory sets on fire. everyone is escaping, except for squirrelflight and her three kids. jayfeather, lionblaze, and hollyleaf, who is contemplating becoming an antivaxxer or something

imagine this: a clearing on the edge of a pit. the pit is where the cats live. everything is on fire around this clearing. there is one log running across the clearing, and squirreflight and her fake kids are going along it to escape. theyre the last out

ashfur appears he stands at the other end of the log. hes pissed. hes crying. he hates squirrelflight. he hates her so much. his rage is all consuming, like the fire that burns around them. he says he wants her in as much pain as possible, and he knows how: taking the only thing she loves in this world. her 3 kids

we all know something ashfur doesnt. the kids arent hers. squirrelflight, though non an omnipresence, is gifted with this knowledge herself.. she sees ashfurs twisted evil mind and tells him, flat out that they arent hers. she doesnt love them. he can kill them, they mean nothing to her. they are, after all, just her sister leafpool's. why would she care for them?

ashfur is stunned. he gives up. he leaves. squirrelflight and her three kids leave. its a bit awkward. imagine the thanksgiving dinner table after a particularly bad argument. thats all this is really

anyways. hollyleaf is broken from this. shes the daughter of a medicine cat and a manwhore from a clan that only eats rabbits. she cant take it. much like ashfur, she snaps

there are these big clan meetings, once every month. everyone goes, except the old people and the dying people and the kids who just want juiceboxes and lunchables. thunderclan is heading out to the Meeting Island. they find a body in the river. surprise! its ashfur

they go on to the gathering despite finding the body of one of their finest, most mentally haunted warriors polluting the stream with the blood seeping out of his slit throat. the three kids are there. squirrelflight is there. leafpool is there. bramblestar is there

this story has very weird heathers energy to me. its there, but it isnt coherant. like a bad remix of 100 gecs, sort of. this part is no exception

hollyleaf runs up to the big tree the clan leaders stand on and monologue. shes not allowed to do this. perhaps the sense that she lost her identity with her illigitimate birth turned into something real, that the warrior code didnt matter anymore. perhaps she was just tired of being kind; she wanted to go apeshit

she confesses. to two things. number one - the muderder of ashfur. how tragic. number two - leafpool. leafpools affar with crowfeather. squirrelflights lies to her for her entire life. theres chaos. thunderclan is like stan twitter after a minecraft youtuber said something racist 8 years ago. the 3 other clans are trying desperately to get in on this drama. the hot tea of the hour if you will

hollyleaf says her share. she runs away. lionblaze and jayfeather chase after her all the way back to the thunderclan territory. she yells at them. she runs into a tunnel and gets crushed by rocks. thats the end. shes dead.

up above hollyleafs slowburn romance with a transparent cat, theres a new girl with superpowers. prophecy fulfilled yadda yadda. her sister is annoyed that she isnt #quirky and so she joins a fighting cult run by the cats in hell. i cannot stress this enough its literally every cat from the 50 some books before this who went to hell. they have an army of children. theyre training them. the sister kills one of her classmates and becomes equals with the hell cats. my second favorite plotline in the series

the hell cats come to the land of the living. the sister betrays them. theres a big battle, and its supposed to be the end of the series but you know theyre gonna continue it for at least 20 more books. (they did). hollyleaf appears, and i dont think its ever explained how or why. but shes back, and she joins the battle. everyones too busy with the literal hell cats to care much about some kid with a body count of 1 appearing randomly
