synopsis — often taking night shifts at the cafe, you usually find yourself in the presence of lonely people. comforting them as they vent to you whilst you made their orders. a tired looking man who sat behind the counter seemed to be needing some conversation and that’s exactly what you gave him— and a little bit more.

warnings — VERY ooc!in-ho, soft!in-ho, age gap, 20’s reader, 40’s in-ho, in-ho has a cat, this was proofread but can still have some mistakes(?), just some good old fluff

AN — hii this is js something short i wanted to write about before I actually finish some requests that I’ve gotten so this is essentially my first fanfic on tumblr. this is actually based off a roblox game called ‘how’s your day?’ highly recommend playing it <3 (send in more requests to feed the beast)

it’s only a few weeks before the games would start and in-ho could already feel himself draining. the vips, having to think of what games he should have in the annual squid games— everything was bothering him. besides his cat.

after feeding his cat, he left his apartment shortly after, finding himself in a little cafe with a nice view of the night city outside along with the stars and some jazz music playing in the background. the smell of coffee was wafting in the air and the whole atmosphere was just calming, something that in-ho needed desperately.

in-ho seated himself at the counter, watching as you moved around behind the counter, making orders whilst having conversations with the customers.

after serving your last order, you notice the man sitting behind the counter and immediately go up to him. “hi, how can i help you?” you questioned, a small smile on your lips as you wiped your hands with a rag.

in-ho had stared at your face for a few seconds before clearing his throat and answering. “just an americano…please.” he added the ‘please’ with a tinge of hesitation in his voice. you merely nodded and went straight to making his order.

you couldn’t help when your eyes drifted to his direction when you were making his drink and before you knew it, you struck up a conversation.

“you look very worn out…” you noted, a hint of concern in your voice as he looked back at you. his eyes seemed as if they were devoid of any emotion and his hair looked a bit messy.

“ah, just…work.” his reply was simple and you nodded, having the urge to continue the conversation.

“wanna talk about it?”

“oh, it’s fine, I wouldn’t want to impose you with my thoughts.”

“it’s fine, really. if it helps, i usually talk with the other customers here. sometimes they come in to just vent and i try my best to listen.”

in-ho raised a small brow, staying quiet. you seemed like such a sweet girl, listening to other people’s problems and such.

“ah, im just…having a hard time thinking of ideas that would appeal to my…superiors.” distaste could be heard as he finished his sentence, the thought of the vips being seen as his superiors was maddening.

“I get that, higher-ups can be a little frustrating most of the times.” you chuckled, grinding the coffee beans before continuing. “sometimes it can get a little too much, but it’s always okay to take a break, you know?”

there was an awkward silence before in-ho replied. “…sorry, i rarely go out so im not used to such conversations.” he scoffed out with a small laugh but you only nod in understanding.

"it sounds to me you're just an introvert."

"wouldn't that be bad? for people who want to be social."

"well i would say im an introvert too, why do you think i usually listen to peoples problems instead of ranting about myself? but being introverted isn't bad nor good. neither is being extroverted. it's just a personality trait. maybe they don’t like going to parties as much as extroverted people do, constantly being surrounded with laughter and commotion. maybe they would rather stay in places like cafes and libraries where they seek solace in their own comfort. and there’s nothing wrong with that, it can take time for people to socialise and when they do, it’s because they know they found the right people to do so.”

in-ho couldn’t help but smile at your words.

the two of you talked for some more minutes and in-ho got to learn some things about you such as your name and even some background on the regulars. he couldn’t help but admire your face as you focused on making his drink, you were gorgeous, intelligent and just perfect in every way.

too perfect for him to be your type.

you had a way with words, the way you’d give him advice had him hooked onto your voice, his mind pleading for you to talk more.

after he got his coffee, it didn’t take long before in-ho decided it was time to go home. “i should get going now…” he murmured. you couldn’t tell but there was a small sliver of hesitation in his voice, as if he didn’t want to leave.

“i’ll see you around maybe?”

your grin was soft and warming, causing in-ho to give you a small one of his own as he nodded.

“bye, in-ho!”

“goodbye, y/n.”

in-ho held his coffee cup as he walked out.

by the time he got home, he looked down at his cup, only to notice a phone number written on it with a smiley face.

"did you seriously just donate to tell me hi?" your words echoed throughout your room, and before you could assume that he wouldn't answer, another donation appeared on the screen.

As frustrating as it was to battle against hundreds of people on whether HE was in a relationship or not, he’d never ask you to do anything you are uncomfortable in doing

So, even if showing up on stream would probably help with this little problem of his, he’d encourage you to actually think carefully if you want to make an appearance or not

“I do have a partner!” Alex says for what feels like the fiftieth time that evening. He should probably give up, after all who cares if chat doesn’t believe him. He knows the truth and that’s enough. Right?

WRONG.

His credibility, and his pride, are in the way. Plus is he even that bad of a catch for people to think he can’t pull?

His head falls onto his hand, resting there as he lets his thoughts run while the fast stream chat on his monitor lights up his face in various dull colors.

You were sitting on a little chair, not too far away from him, staring at something in your phone. He did feel bad for inviting you over just for him to stream an hour later, but you had always said that you didn’t mind watching him since you liked seeing him do something he enjoyed. As if he didn’t enjoy spending time with you, but fine.

So he put his insecurities aside, most of them being about you possibly not liking his streams, and provided you a chair to at least sit comfortably as he robbed you of your time by going live yet again.

It had been going fairly well: he was checking out some horrible games in Roblox, or rather he had been screaming his lungs out for an hour straight, and of course, when a random kid on Roblox asked him to be his girlfriend, chat got back on their “no relationship, you are a loser” (he knows it’s a long name, he couldn’t come up with anything better okay??) agenda.

Your hand waving in his peripheral vision brought him back from his mind: he hadn’t realized he had zoned out.

He looked at you briefly, almost feeling bad for the worried stare you were giving him. He usually doesn’t feel this defeated after an unserious bickering with chat, but to say that this all situation wasn’t playing with his self-doubts would be lying. He’s fine though, he just feels a little gloomy today.

You turn your head to the side and give him a thumps up, voicelessly asking whether he was fine or not. And he just nods, giving you a little, forced, smile before going back to the bright monitor. He doesn’t like the thought of you being concerned about this. While, admittedly, it does feel nice to have someone worried about him, Alex never quite liked to be a bother to anyone. He could handle this alone.

Then why is his head so heavy? And why does he feel without energy all of a sudden? He just needs to do what he does best: push the pain away and walk forward. But even something as easy as that sounds impossible right now.

Maybe he should end stream.

He’s too lost in his own thoughts to realize you had stood from your chair, steadily approaching his setup. When he realizes what’s going on, it’s too late.

“You don’t-“ before the frantic words can leave his mouth, you were already behind him. You cross your arms down his chest, whilst your head, resting on the top of his beanie, being high enough to not get seen by the webcam.

Many things were going trough Alex’s mind, a lot of them being about how nice it felt being hold by you, but only two words left his lips:

“Who’s got no game now, huh?”.

At that point it would go from chat not believing him to chat teasing him endlessly about him being a simp

You two could do nothing and he would still be accused of it, just because you were there

Is it true? Yeah, but it was nonetheless a bit annoying

He WOULD bully you on stream when the secret is out

Chat: “do you like (Name) or Thanos more? Don’t lie”

“Well…” he’d say, scratching his neck in faux uneasiness.

“Don’t think about it what the fuck!”.

His chat took your relationship quite well, after all the time he wasn’t famous enough to have fans being jealous and obsessing over him

Actually you became kind of an icon of his channel

And he did milk this for content but it’s not like you didn’t encourage him, quite the contrary, so expect videos like “playing Roblox with my partner” or “The best Habbo raid ever w/(Name)”

As sweet as this all can be, we haven’t forgot about his light teasing (borderline bullying) on stream, have we?

Don’t worry, you got back at him with the help of Aksel countless of time, he’d be your partner in crime when it came to bullying Alex

You were watching meme compilations with them on stream, occasionally sharing some little laughs and snarky comments, and, one way or another, you somehow ended up talking about shampoos. Yes, shampoos.

“Honestly, I think 2 in 1 are gross” Alex says, spinning around in his chair while still keeping an eye on the running chat. You were sitting next to him in your usual simple wooden chair that he usually stole from his kitchen. It wasn’t much, and you could feel your thighs getting painted with the hard design of your seat, but it feels very homy, heart warming in its simplicity.

Yet, as comfortable and happy as you felt, you really couldn’t help spatting out the comment that had been dancing dangerously on the tip of your tongue, begging to be freed.

“And what would you know about it you bald fuck”.

Silence filled the room.

You start to grow worried you stepped over the line as you shoot guilty side-glances at him, trying to evaluate whether he was or wasn’t okay with your stupid joke. His spinning was getting gradually slower, and his eyes wide and open jaw came to view.

You’re able to let out a silent sigh of relief as Alex’s face sinks into a, clearly exaggerated, offended pout.

“Have you heard them?? Defend me Aksel what the hell” he cries dramatically, his mindless spinning coming at a halt to stare into the soul of his screen, specifically at the man that is lightly grinning right back at him.

“I mean.. they’re kinda right man..” he mutters in his typical monotone voice, barely holding back an amused snicker.

Alex’s look of betrayal was probably the funniest shit you had seen in a while.

“Why are you two ganging up on a Mexican guy huh??”

“Awww the Mexican card? No better come back??” you laugh smugly, your face screaming “triumph” as he gawks at you.

“You truly found your match” Aksel laughs, adjusting his bucket hat as he leaned down on his office chair.

“Shut the fuck up” he mumbles before looking away from you with a huff.

Oh God does he love you.

Moving on though, these were harsh years for him, so he needs lots of love and support from his partner

I think it’d be too soon to have full on cuddling sessions, but i see him loving your touch, especially if it’s something domestic like a simple hug or a little caress down his back

Not really into PDA either, but he would find comfort in holding your hand whenever he’s tense or even just cold

It’s a reminder you are still by his side despite all of his flaws and insecurities, you chose him

This SFX was used somewhere else!: This blog will run both on submissions and generally what the sound is more associated with rather than its original source! Not every SFX is original and some are used from specific sound libraries. The Roblox OOF, for example, comes from a game named Messiah - however, if a submitter has submitted its source asRoblox, thats what this blog will use as its source.

Can you tag scary/sounds from horror games?: The point of the game is listening to unexpected sounds, and "scary" is an extremely subjective description. I will do my best to avoid posting loud jumpscare sounds or other sounds that I think are unpalatable to a general audience, but beyond that I don't intend on tagging specific types of sounds at this time.

How many SFX can we submit in the form?: I would prefer 4 per person, at maximum, if you submit multiple from the same series I will most likely space them out across a few days/weeks.

I just had a crazy ass experience in Natural Disaster Survival.

So the server I was in had a bunch of forsaken cosplayers, and there was this one person who had joined and was genuinely flabbergasted by the amount of cosplayers. Specifically the 007n7 ones.

They had an avatar with a white head and white hair, a red torso with some kind of pattern on it, and black limbs. I forgot their username but I remember it was a short one, and it started with an M and had three numbers at the end of it that I think were all either 5s or two 5s and a 4 and the end.

I remember that they said something along the lines of "why are there so many people with burgers on their heads" and "did I just come across a cult?"

So I decided to talk to them and explain that most of the people in the server were cosplayers. They didn't know what a cosplayer was so I tried to explain it to them, and that most of the people in the server were cosplaying forsaken characters.

Also they did recognize one of them, that one being a cosplay of Dusekkar, or just simply Matt Dusek as I'm pretty sure that's what they recognized the cosplay as cause they didn't know about forsaken.

They seemed pretty baffled and confused by everyone in the server, and there was also a fuck ton of exploiters.

I also told them that the ones with burgers on their heads were cosplaying 007n7, specifically the forsaken one.

They didn't know what forsaken was so I told them that it was a roblox game.

This person was 37.

They were pretty kind tho and genuinely nice. I eventually left tho cause I was getting tired of the exploiters. I hope this person does some research into the things I told them about cause I feel that my explanations were pretty botched.

Like how are you 37 and never heard about cosplayers before? No malice of course, I don't mean to be rude and I don't want to be.

I hope they have a better experience playing roblox games next time tho. Maybe some other people would explain stuff to them too.

something happened while I was playing TR:UD.

Everything was normal, one player even asked me how to play the game so I took them through it all and stuff, we played a couple rounds.

BUT ONE ROUND...ooooh that one round...hold on ill get to that soon.

The round started yada yada, and I was getting jumped by Coolkid, in the pumpkin map, then I'm seeing the chat go off and when I check it, people were saying that there was TWO Coolkids! THAT WERE JUMPING ME >XC the round ended really fast, no one had a chance lol.

So eventually, the person who asked me how to play became the killer, BUT as I was choosing my character, I was hearing a chainsaw??? And guess what, IT WAS SAW NOOB! I WAS BAFFLED. The person, who I'm gonna call Kogi (not their FULL user name) didn't even know about Saw Noob (at least thats what they were saying), AND ALSO. everyone in the game was confused, and thought they brought him back, I was so exited (but now I realize that was kinds dum of me lolz)

right after Kogi's turn, it was my turn to be the killer, so I went to pick 1x1x1 (cuz I was so blinded by my fav character that I forgor to check if saw noob saw there) BUT GUESS WHAT. 1X1X WAS BLOCKED. SOMEONE ALREADY CHOSE HIM?? I was so confused but just picked Guest 666, and turns out that there were two killers again, me and 1x1x, I thought this was a new game mode, double killers or smth. I was chasing a player when I pasted JOHN DOE, then in the distance I see DRAKOBLOXER?? FOUR KILLERS AGAINST LIKE...3 PLAYERS?!?!? It was really crazy and at one point there was a guy being cornered and accused of being a hacker lolz. one round the killer was John Doe, and he was not doing soo good, but that's also because Builderman kept spam attacking him, it sounded like a automatic gun whenever he attacked John Doe, well I think John had enough of it cuz 1x1x literally got summoned and killed us all, AND I WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PORTAL TO.

Um I'm gonna say it probably was a hacker, but I'm not familiar with what roblox hacks look like

also when I joined a new server everyone was really sweet and so nice, literally the first thing I see in the chat when I joined was someone saying something along the lines of "it doesn't matter if anyone of us loses a round, there's no reward and were just doing this for fun!" and when I left they told me to have a nice day and that I was really nice too >` '< I just wanted to mention that CUZ THAT MADE ME SOOO HAPPYYY I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH SWEET PEOPLE BEFOREE!!

we're a year out from windows 10 being considered End Of Life, on October 14 2025. it will no longer recieve updates, including security updates.

Security updates are INSANELY important these days, it feels like some insane security flaw gets found out and promptly fixed every month these days. running an unpatched version of an operating system puts a target on you and puts your computer and your home network at risk. It is rare to be attacked in that way, yes, but don't take the risk. Your two options:

Windows 11

The issue with windows 11 is not that it's bad, it's just that it adds and changes a bunch of shit for no reason, and for that i recommend installing Winaero Tweaker. This is a program that changes registries and settings on your computer to disable all the telemetry, remove the dumbass microsoft copilot and cortana shit, bring back the old right click menu, the old taskbar, and a bunch more options. It's available for Windows 10 as well, if you're not on windows 11 yet, please check out this program anyway, there's plenty of things you may want to change. It is one of the first things i always install on a new windows computer.

Once you have customized it a bit, there really isnt much of a difference between windows 10 and 11. they just added more bullshit, which you can mostly disable.

Linux

i would deal with fucked up drivers and lightly buggy programs if i never had to deal with windows again.

If you just use your computer to browse the web and manage files, talk to people on discord and shit, linux works perfectly. You will never have to look into a command prompt if you don't want to.

If you do work on it, you may miss some programs, but basically just microsoft office and adobe suite. Office is basically covered by LibreOffice (and works on windows too if you wanna try it out), but it's a bit harder with adobe suite programs. You wanna look at individual programs which you use to see what works for you.

If you play games, it depends. With the success of the steam deck, more and more games are working towards compatibility on linux. Even then, out of the top 1000 games on steam, 85% are compatible with linux, with only 4% straight up refusing. Minecraft works good with prism launcher (again, use this even if you're on windows) roblox works with sober(idk what other non-steam games there are), emulation works amazingly, theres nvidia drivers for it, it's good.

Like theres a bit more setup and some more troubleshooting needed when something goes wrong, but it is so fucking nice to just not have to deal with Windows Bullshit.

I recommend Kubuntu, though i've heard a lot of support for Linux Mint. I'd be happy to answer any other linux questions lol

• Cartman is actually on good terms with Karen, Ike, Tricia and Firkle. He babysat Tricia once for the money when Craig and Tweek went on a vacation with Craig's parents. They actually got along really well because she's essentially him before he went to the psych ward. (Scott Tenorman Must Die kind of energy). This led to him asking to look after her again and then later letting her invite the other kids over his house. They all hang out like a little family, its adorable (their brothers fucking hate it)

• She really admires Cartman because of how evil he is. She wants to reach his level of hatefulness and loves how he pretty much operates solely on what he wants. When they hang out, they usually cyberbully kids on Roblox together or he teaches her something really dangerous or really petty. This can range from him showing her how to dox someone or him "accidently" showing her how to make crystal meth (he's a horrible influence on her but she was already a bitch before they met so nobody really cares).

• She's not old enough to be medically classified as such but Craig believes she's a sociopath. She's incredibly manipulative, selfish, acts on most of her impulses and she only feels empathy for her brother (sometimes) and Karen. Everyone else gets sympathy at best and straight up physical bullying at worst. She also just generally hates people due to not having many real friends as a child. The few who did come around only liked her because she was popular for having a famous brother.

• Laura and Thomas are very neglectful parents and usually just leave Tricia alone with Craig since he's always been "old enough" to babysit her. Because of that, she spent more time with Craig and he just usually ignores her unless she does something dangerous or forces him to pay attention to her. When her antics to get attention began to stop working she just started getting things herself by yelling at him or hitting him. Being nice has never worked for Tricia unless she's dealing with someone sensitive like Karen.

• She knows right from wrong and knows not to treat people she cares about poorly she just hasn't seen a lot of examples of genuine kindness that isn't responded to negatively and therefore thinks being a selfish annoying bitch who uses violence to get her way is the only way she can be. Also she's just kind of evil, she was born being kind of mean there's no escaping it.

• Craig bullies her for listening to "basic white girl" music and she just calls him a fag for listening to Artic Monkeys

hey im planning to switch over to linux and need advice from the smart people of tumblr, please and thank you. my messages are open so if you need any info to help me out hmu.

General Questions:

im seeing everyone saying ubuntu, mint, and ziron are "the #1 go to versions for beginners" but like... which is it?

i also hear about security being the best with linux but nothing about it coming with antiviruses. does it come with one like how windows comes with defender or do you install that yourself, or is it something different entirely?

all the sources i look at talk about downloading and installing linux but i want to know what to expect when first getting a prebuilt pc with the OS, like the system 76 pcs. do you have to set it up like when you install it or is it as easy as getting any new computer?

i know nothing about coding and im planning to get a computer from system 76 since it seems like the best, and its by far the only source that only comes with linux, and since my current one was pretty much ruined by someone i thought could fix it after a faulty outlet fried its insides, he didnt and made it worse.

so yeah, which linux version do you suggest for a computer moron, any suggestions for computers would be nice (max price is $1,300), i'll put the specs and my uses under the read more.

Preferences:

It ONLY comes with Linux. I despise what Windows has become and don't want to even bother dual booting cause I feel with the switchovers happening they're gonna get salty and make something that'll turn your computer into a bomb if you use Linux with it.

Kinda beefy but not a supercomputer. I don't use AI stuff, I'm not a programmer, but I do frequently play modded Minecraft with my friends and run smps for my Discord servers. I recently switched to Modrinth cause ATLauncher had been giving me trouble. Curseforge is out of the question.

At the most, I'll be playing VRChat with friends while having Spotify or Youtube in the background for music and Discord open in case someone needs my help in one of my servers, similar goes for running one of my SMPs just minus the VR.

Gaming Questions:

I also play VR games often, especially BeatSaber (modded ofc im not insane), and I have Half Life Alyx that I haven't been able to finish cause my already dead and gutted PC struggles to run it anymore even with the lowest settings. My current headset is a two feet in the grave, barely hanging in there, held by tape Oculus Rift S thats as old as my current PC whos also dead. I plan to get a new headset soon and had the Quest 2 recommended to me by friends. If theres better alternatives that isn't Meta please let me know.

I'm a DBD addict. Does it really run DBD or was that just the one guy from the one video I saw.

My friends also often drag me onto Roblox so I need to know if that'll be an option for Linux too.

My current tablet is a Wacom, I got it before knowing how greedy the company actually is, and I plan to switch to a Huion after this tablet dies on me. If compatibility is an issue with it please let me know what to do about that.

I usually use Medibang but I don't think it runs on Linux from what I've seen, if I'm wrong lemme know. Am I going to have to switch all the files over to something else before getting a Linux or are there programs I can use that'll load them?

I also write and need to know if I need to switch all my files to something else before porting it all over to the Linux PC. I just used the default notepad and document programs on Windows.

Show Reviews #15 - One Piece's Marineford

I said once that One Piece's biggest strength was its anti authoritarian message, but this arc has another huge strength too. It's emotional core is actually really strong! Spoilers ahead!

Now, you might get the impression that One Piece is a bit of a dumb show, why? Because a lot of the times the characters will just say out loud their feelings and that makes the inspirational tone incredibly on the nose, it is telling rather showing, right? You wouldn't expect a show where every character yells out loud their attacks every time to be exactly filled with nuance or subtlety, but guess what, we were wrong.

I do agree the execution and presentation of many of the feelings in One Piece could be shown differently, but then I remember there is a Roblox One Piece hub, One Piece cards, One Piece toys, One Piece plushies and One Piece accessories and collectibles. One Piece also does its best to appeal to kids. The very yells every character does each attack is designed so kids can imitate them when role playing their favorite characters. I'm not saying that One Piece dumbs down the deliver of its message to sell toys to kids, its core message is in fact very important for kids to understand too, what I am saying is that keeping kids as part of its audience is important for One Piece.

So, yes, perhaps the on the nose execution of feelings and intentions is intentional, but is One Piece really smart? Does it have an actual strong emotional core to back up my argument? Well, that's what this arc is about. Marineford as an arc can be summarized as a escape heist where many pirates try to rescue Ace, and then hell breaks loose.

I did in fact liked many of the fights in this arc, the Pace cut is 17 episodes (395 minutes long) and I found myself watching up to three episodes at the time because I was so engaged. I also liked seeing many characters return, Jango, and having enemies fighting along with Luffy like Cocodrile and Mr 1. I liked Buggy being silly, and I liked meeting the Whitebeard pirates and Whitebeard's beautiful ethos of treating his crew as a family which represented the biggest wish he could have as a man. I also liked the harsh depiction where a man of an epic soul like him ended up killed by a bunch of low life thugs because that's something that happens countless times in real life where age turns the tides of power, but I also loved his beautiful ending speech and his resolute stance. I loved Sengoku too, because even if he plays for the other side, I can see in him a heart to do what he really thinks is right unlike many in the Marines or like unlike Akainu's who will take any chances to mercilessly destroy people in the name of something he doesn't believe, just an excuse to execute his power.

This arc is very fun and very nice and I liked it, but what is the most important is around the end when Ace dies. Why? Is it because when Ace dies that makes you feel you wasted your time in the entire arc? That all the fighting was for nothing? Tsk tsk, pay attention my friend. Because all this builds up to something real and necessary, and a true depiction of suffering.

Okay so Ace is nice and all that but in this arc I saw he also had his issues and, being Roger's son, he felt like he didn't have the place in the world. Again maybe I would have liked to hear about his emotional issues before this arc where he dies, adding flashbacks just here makes everything more on the nose, but I already said why I think the show being on the nose is actually by design. Now, Pirates are actually a minority, wandering outcasts, are a minority. It is easy to feel that you were born for no reason and there is no place for you in the world. So far, Ace's arc is very similar to Robin's but what the show does with him afterwards is incredibly different.

Ace, after feeling like an outcast and like he didn't belong to the world, is shown the biggest showcase of love he could ever get in his life. He saw many people willing to fight the world government and go to war to rescue him, from several fronts, not just from his crew, but also his sworn brother. The people he met along his life are saying, yes, you are worth the risk, because we love you. He then gets rescued and then they proceed to leave after Whitebeard dies too.

But Ace is provoked by one the marines, Akainu, and he turns back when he shouldn't have, and then while trying to protect the weakened Luffy, he dies.

What a moron? Right? He made everybody's efforts go to waste in the most stupid possible. He hadn't let Akainu get the best of him, Luffy wouldn't have turned back and he wouldn't have needed to save him at the worst moment possible. Stupid, just stupid, stupid man.

But can I really make fun of a man that was just as insecure as me?

Because I know how it feels like you don't belong, and like there was nothing good about you being born, of being stupid, and that feeling, and when someone gives you a helping hand, a reaching hand, you become incredibly defensive of it, for someone to simply insult the people who reached you in a time of need becomes an offense you just can't let go. No matter what, you feel invincible, you say, now that we are together, nobody will ever insult us, and you see your new friends, your new father, in the same place you were years ago as a kid when people said you were worthless and you didn't have a place in the world at all. You wouldn't like to have that little child to be insulted if you felt you were able to stop the mocking cries. Is in that very same moment that you feel that you must pay your respects, to honor the kindness you were given and fight back. For Ace, it is a decisive moment where the positions are inverted and fighting is crucial for his construction of self. Because he didn't grow up as someone who would run away.

That is the trap, if Ace had been around for Episode 1 and had been around with Shanks, he would have learned there are some fights you should not fight, fights that are not worth to fight and that if you fight you just lose your energy or worse, get burned.

Ace dies, but he dies thankful, knowing he was loved, understanding his mistakes but giving his life back for love, he falls into the final trap and learns he ended a foolish man, but a loved man.

That is the tragedy of Ace, and it makes me wonder, should you just not give a helping hand for those who are lost? Are those who are lost just too lost enough and if you help them, still end up messing up like this? Well, I sure hope not, I sure hope you give a helping hand to a broken person when you can, because even if Ace might not be the kind of person with the heart to change the world, if he might have been still too brash to fall in one of the fate's many obstacles, those few minutes where he realizes he is dying, but he is dying loved, represent the necessary expiation and fulfillment enough to free a soul from hell's eternity. To feel loved for a few minutes counts as much as being loved until the end of the earth in the grand scale of the universe.

Alterhumanity in the Family

Our youngest sister has started saying that she's a therian online. She showed us this by commenting that we're in the same Roblox group (an alterhuman one) after she asked to see what groups we were in and it's also written in her bio. We've since talked a little bit about her theriotype.

Now... This is cool and all, we've always wanted someone to relate to in the family. Regardless of if she sticks with the identity or not, it's nice and the things she's said make it seem like she sees her identity as past life based so it seems about as serious as we were when we were that young. It's good for her that she would have someone to relate to growing up as well if she needs it, we weren't fortunate enough to have that.

This brings some extra complications though.

Our family has proven to be anti-alterhuman. At one point, one of our other siblings who is a bit older than the therian one was mocking furries in the living room with everyone around. The father asked what a furry is, and she explained that it is "people who want to be animals" to which we tried to interject and talk about how it's an art and community/fandom thing and not about literally being an animal, but we were ignored. She cut us off and then started talking about her "friend" who "thinks she's a therian" which means "thinks she's part animal", to which our conservative christian father said to "declaw her" and "if she thinks she's an animal, treat her like one and put her in the shelter". I don't even know how they got to those insults immediately, I guess they're the common ones for a reason? But from that, we decided that we wouldn't talk about being a furry let alone being alterhuman around them ever because the fight would be more hassle than anything good that could possibly come of it--they already ignored us once about it, they're likely to brush us off again.

So, yeah. It's an issue. We know what this house is like, and we know the parents have already mocked her for things that as far as they know is just playing pretend. Hell, it could be only playing pretend and nothing more and we'd still see this as an issue.

We're open about alterhumanity elsewhere IRL, just not in our own home due to the cons outweighing the pros, but now we have someone to defend. It's a case of regardless of whether she's playing pretend or not, right now, she is using the label and doesn't deserve to be mocked for it--serious identity or not. So we're at the point where we're mentally preparing ourselves to actually speak up whenever is necessary. We want to support her as best we can with anything at all, really, but this situation in particular hits close to home for us and we don't want her to feel as lonely as we did.

I know she's young and even if the parents end up listening to us, they'll dismiss her based on how young she is. They do it with LGBT+ identities, this will be no better. But we knew when we were that young, and regardless of if she "grows out of it" or not, she deserves respect. We're going to try our best to get it for her, as scary as it is.

We need more positivity? Bet.

I absolutely adore the Phighting lobbies!! Sure, there's the occasional person who just wants to argue, but most of the people there are just chilling. They're not there to grind for the next 5 hours, they just wanna talk, and I love it. 60% of my friends on roblox are from those lobbies, because they're really nice! I had a 10 minute conversation with a 7MK0 and a Cursedshot about which skins looked best together and which Phighters we thought would get a new one, and then play-fought with a Banhammer and a Skateboard. Of course, I eventually went into lobby, but it had really lifted my spirits, since I had been getting a lot of 6ths and 7ths lately.

Along with that, even with grindy people, it's fun to just... laugh it off. Sure, you're getting chased across the map by some random Sunburst Sword the entire match, but it's pretty fun to try and dodge their attacks while trying to fend for yourself, and funny to scream your lunges off as you get jumpscared by them when you thought they had finally left you alone. Along with that, not everyine in servers are grindy, some of them are just there to have fun, or to play with a friend, or maybe they are grinding but they still congratulate their team and point out how well other people did.

I see all these people talking about how bad the community is, and sometimes I see it too, but it's nice to take a step back and... choose to see things in a brighter light. Say Gg, make silly emoticons, interact with people inside and outside of matches, chill in lobby, make friends! I honestly love the community. The people online that you don't like are just that: people online, you can block them, or just don't interact with them. If you're looking at fanart and see something you don't like, then just try to move on and look at a creator you enjoy! If someone's being rude in a match, politely leave and join another, or just ignore them and enjoy the game.

Phighting isn't perfect, but it is fun. The people can be awesome, or they can suck, but they're usually pretty cool if you put in effort to be nice. The devs might make decisions you don't like, but they also make amazing skins, fx/sfx, environments, and have put their backs into this silly little game. Games are going to be grinded, you're going to lose a match, a person eill be rude, a character will annoy you, the lore won't always feel right, but nothing in this world is perfect, so just take a step back and appreciate the world of Phighting for what it is. It'll get better, it's still in Alpha, remember that, but it really is a wonderful game.
