How rare it was to have moments like this... Moments where his mind wasn't plagued with worries. Moments where he could laugh and feel safe with somebody. But as he spun her around in his arms to the sound of a melody only they could hear, Lucan felt the joy he felt back in those castle gardens with her. When they were only children.

And maybe, tonight they could be those children again. There was no real rhythm or set choreography to their dance now. He moved her around with particular ease, encouraged by the tinkering sound of her laughter. A contagious song that quickly got stuck to him.

They were barefoot, and though their clothes still hinted at the nobility in their blood, it would have been hard to tell that those two young elves dancing, running and singing around the campfire were two lost royals.

Eventually, it softly slowed down. Though they still swayed together. He held her hands carefully, glancing over her familiar features, illuminated by moonlight. A grin as warm as the flames nearby had lit up Lucan's expression.

"Me neither." He admitted. His voice a gentle rumble. The remains of laughter still audible in the words. "We should do things like this more often. I missed it." The admission is honest, and then he seems to ponder about something very briefly.
