BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Conflict episode 7 review
This episode was awesome! It truly got my blood pumping with everything finally rolling into action and some action being taken! Not forgetting some sassiness~!
I must admit I chuckled when Mayuri and Nemu took their own private elevator, that wasn't that private. The fact Mayuri was ready to do some unthinkable things while no one would be looking (all for the name of science!) just to get caught by Kenpachi. xD It was hilarious how Mayuri had all but a mini-heart attack when Kenpachi strolled through his private elevator all sassily. Also, as a side note, it was kind of cute how despite Kenpachi appearing all rough and such, he diligently dried his hands when using the toilet like a good boy he is! Luckily Mayuri stayed behind, just so he wasn't left out of action. Along with his posse. The fact they dragged Hanataro along with them was a bit odd, but I suppose just like with the main shinigami group they knew a healer is a must in a battle.
Unfortunately, the main shinigami group's healers went down almost right away... Which made me think, uh, kido anyone? Like anyone? I feel like after a certain point Bleach threw into a trash can any "lesser" kido spells and now those are exclusive material to some OP people like Aizen. Which...isn't true. When Lille Barro started to shoot his shots, I get it when Hisagi went at first down it took everybody by surprise, but after that? It just felt like creators and animators were "oh no, we allowed too many characters to enter Wahr Welt, gotta weed them out." As manga readers know, there will be a few main battles that are mostly solo ones. But even so...it felt a bit odd. Of course, one could say they (not captain-level shinigami or Rukia and Renji who were trained by Ichibe) couldn't create any kido spells to protect themselves because Wahr Welt is the Quincies' turf, but even so...
Anyway, Renji vs. Uryuu Ishida was marvelous! Those who are anime-only watchers might not know this, but this fight wasn't shown in the manga. (Not to mention several other scenes in this episode, but a bit later on about that.) It was very joyful to see Renji using his real Bankai against Uryuu. It truly felt like Renji's hardworking training underneath Ichibe paid off! Not to mention, what's so bad just using brute force? Especially when Uryuu wasn't that different in the end. Or, at least I couldn't see any epic strategy behind his attacks, except from the 'I've few aces in my sleeve' and in the end, they're stronger than their opponent. Renji put up an excellent fight but sadly lost in the end to Uryuu. I'm not sure if it was about strength, but maybe because he hesitated as Uryuu guessed? Hard to write. But did anyone notice, once again, that we're going with parallels with this all? This fight ultimately made me think of Renji vs. Byakuya. The fact Renji showcased his true Bankai with pride, using his brute force and his opponent taunting him because of that? And the end 'the reason why you lost' speech? Yeah, reminded me awfully lot of from Renji's battle against Byakuya. Unlike Byakuya, it seems like Uryuu shattered Renji's reiryoku center. Which basically would render him useless, unlike in Byakuya's case Byakuya only shattered Renji's pride... Let's hope that isn't the case because then Renji would become a big burden to everybody and his career as a Gotei 13 member would end. I'm just waiting for someone to pop up in the next episode and help him!
Grimmjow deciding to join Ichigo's group, just to deviate from that was funny. His whole chase against Askin Nakk Le Vaar was something that didn't happen in the manga, but I'm glad it did happen in the anime! He truly showed his panther side and the fact he transformed his hands into his claws? So cool! However, it was a bit dirty for Askin to use his poison ball against Grimmjow. I mean, cat instincts seemed to be strong in Grimmjow...
As a side note, it was interesting when Ichigo's group was heading toward Yhwach they were on the street level while both Nelliel and Grimmjow used rooftops to move along. I'm not sure if their animal part played in that or if it was a tactical move as the higher you're, the better you can see, hence, Grimmjow spotted Askin first.
If we go to the beginning of the episode when Yhwach sends his Quincies to fight against the Shinigami and Ichigo's group, I couldn't help but wonder why Yhwach didn't use Uryuu's full name? It just felt odd. I would have understood if the others didn't have last names, but some of them had, so it felt odd. Also, the whole sending them off was very cool, but somehow comical? I don't know, it felt like a big baddie move where the Big Bad sends his henchmen to fight against the heroes, or in this case, maybe the analogy of King sending his most elite knights to fight evil demons would be more suitable? It depends on whose side one is and who we view as bad guys and good guys.
Gerald Valkyrie shouting he is ready to face all shinigami was funny. The fact that Bazz-B, Liltotto, and Giselle went on their own way, just for Giselle to call out they're back home was also funny. And I've to ask...did Jugram have a gigantic mirror TV he used to watch everything unravel while Yhwach was on a nap? I'm not sure if it's day or night in Warh Welt, but because Jugram is Yhwach's 'night' and if Yhwach decided to take a nap during the day...he would need a mirror TV just to see what's going on during actual night he would have Almighty. Unless there really isn't night and day during Warh Welt? Or it's both at the same time? Or when Yhwach adsorbed the whole Soul King Jugram can't really anymore use Almight? But yeah, it seemed like he had a huge mirror TV.

Hi! i’m the anon who wrote the ask about fans thinking doumeki is all knowing. I jjst wanted to clarify that I do think they should both be honest about how they feel but doumeki was pretty honest and open pre time skip. I think he would get back to that if he was a bit more sure of yashiro’s feelings. But yashiro has never really been open to doumeki about his feelings and I get why but I think that an important part of his journey is being able to be open and vulnerable about how he is feeling. To me, it would be an unbalanced relationship if one is earnest as doumeki tends to be and one holds everything inside. Also, now that I’m thinking about it, doumeki had to face his worst fears by getting thrown out by yashiro, will yashiro now have to face his worst fears by potentially getting pushed away by doumeki which would in turn make yashiro fight for their relationship similar to how doumeki fought to be by yashiro’s side before. Idk, thats just a theory. Sorry, this got long again but saezuru just makes me think alot.
Hi! No problem, thanks for clarifying.
Doumeki and Yashiro have both changed since four years ago. You mention that Doumeki would go back to being honest if Yashiro were honest, but doesn’t that go both ways? Wouldn’t Yashiro also be more honest if he knew what Doumeki was thinking? Yashiro has also changed considerably, but Doumeki’s cold treatment and disrespectful attitude is confusing and irritating to Yashiro, causing him to lash out and resist. Until the Kido incident Yashiro thought Doumeki just wanted to keep an eye on him so that he doesn’t share info with Inami; he had no way of knowing that he was special to Doumeki. That’s why I think it’s unfair to put the burden of responsibility on Yashiro’s shoulders and expect him to open up, without considering the circumstances.
Despite the situation, it’s clear that Yashiro is doing the best he can given what he has to work with: an unrecognizable Doumeki, who is part of a new yakuza group, seemingly out of spite. He claims his only purpose is to complete the investigation and make sure Yashiro doesn’t sabotage it. He behaves coldly and bitterly. What do you expect Yashiro to do? Doumeki and Yashiro are both holding back. This is why whatever romantic progress is made between them is excruciatingly slow to us. But also keep in mind that only a few days have past in Saezuru time. In those few days, Yashiro has explained why he threw Doumeki away, he pulled Doumeki into his building and chose him as his guard, he confessed that he’d rather have Doumeki over Kamiya in his bed, he got mad over Doumeki’s tattoo, and then he kissed him back passionately. Actions speak for themselves, and Yashiro IS fighting to be by Doumeki’s side. If he weren’t he wouldn’t have done those things with the way Doumeki is keeping his feelings hidden (understandably).
I don’t agree that Yashiro has never been open about his feelings for Doumeki. The shower scene was a love confession. But even before that Yashiro has been honest and open with Doumeki— in one of their earliest conversations Yashiro told him about his childhood abuse, his one and only love, and his inability to be in a normal romantic relationship. These are things Yashiro hasn’t even told Nanahara or Misumi (M figured it out on his own). Yashiro also listened to Doumeki’s story and comforted him about his misplaced guilt and his fear about turning into his father. He told Doumeki many times that he was cute and that he was softer on D than his other subordinates. Yashiro and Doumeki have/had a very open, honest, and balanced relationship in terms of emotional validation. It would be unfair to dismiss all of this and claim that Yashiro holds everything in, while Doumeki is the only honest one in their relationship. I understand you think Yashiro isn’t doing enough, but I think you’re not giving him enough credit for what he has done, for what he is doing, and for everything he’s been through.
The reason we haven’t seen Yashiro confess yet is because the time isn’t right yet. There are things that need to happen before Yashiro can feel safe and comfortable enough to do any kind of confessing. This is Yashiro’s story and he’s taking us through it on his own terms. That’s kind of the point of Saezuru: to empathize with survivors of sexual abuse; to listen to their story. The point is not to police and evaluate their journeys to recovery, sorry to say it so bluntly.
If you want to continue this conversation, please just send me a private message.

loving the most recent harutaka doodle were takane is being LOUD and possible STRESSED and just haruka touching her causes causes inner peace and *subwoofer lullaby inside her head*
TEEHEEEEE!!!!
originally i was gonna draw her blushing and getting all silly with this sorta funny smile i like drawing->🥴 something like. a teehee moment cuz imagine that and then her leaning against him while giggling super silly *explodes* isn't that so cute. but i changed it bc i felt it would've needed some dialogue, since post str takane doesnt get pissed at Whatever, if she's mad its probably worth getting mad at, so it would've had to be specific... what would get her mad but also not mad enough to quickly teehee over haruka instead... i couldnt think of anything to write. so i changed it to takane deciding whatever she's yelling about isn't worth it anyways and haruka is comfy :3 i think haruka is rly good at calming her down just by existing she's like Oh right. *cat head bump*
the hc was early dating harutaka being giddy and silly abt each other which is why i was gonna draw it that way initially. but then i didnt lol. or like early reunion actually, not even dating. like haruka can just sit next to takane and their shoulders touch and takanes like omg🥰 hehe. i think they'd be cute like that. i think they'd get all excited and giggling and sooooo stupid about each other. sorry if this is cringe to the viewers but thats cute come on.
the worst pda haruka and takane exhibit is this early dating/about to be dating stage where they're just talking with their faces really close together whispering and giggling. Cringe as hell my man 🙏 wait im about to get completely off topic well not really but let's talk about pda for a bit im in a love mood im in a shipping mood <- the moment it knew the ask reply was turning into its own unrelated post
sorry to talk about setomary like no one even mentioned it but on the subject of pda. i think only kano and kido (and maybe ayano) are setomary pda haters (not setomary haters. just when theyre pda) and the rest are like :3❤️ theyre so cute. but for harutaka since theyre so fucking cringe EVERYONE is kind of annoyed. they just fucking pretend nothings happening because its cringe. maybe during the first week after they reunited they're like aww its so nice haruka and ene reunited :3 but it gets difficult to look at fast.
seto and mary are being more normal they do shit like seto carries mary and theyre hugging all the time etc etc nothing too tragic. maybe seto calls her princess maybe mary gives him some flowers thats just what theyre like not only to each other but theyre that way to Everyone they just happen to match each other's level of swetness perfectly so no one thinks twice abt it. setomary is more natural and cute abt it. but haruka and takane act like they're in highschool at the back of the classroom whispering and giggling and its augh. it's insufferable to witness. i imagine the dan just widening their eyes to each other and mouthing Oh My God to each other all the time when harutaka start acting this way. like haruka and takane do everything except kiss each other in public seeing them kiss would actually be better bc what the hell is this. kido probably forces them to exhange seats like theyre in highschool for real.
sorry lets do a quick pda rating since i already talked about setomary and harutaka so why not talk about kidomomo and shinaya now that im on it. i told you i was getting off topic and also ratio + im an epic aroace person who enjoys romance as fiction so i love Love and making these hcs about smooching!!!! like ive seen ppl do what i described harutaka like. These people are going to hell. however harutaka are safe because theyre fictional. hope that helps.
for kidomomo its baby steps Momo throws herself on kido at all times and kido Vanishes each and every time or has to leave the room out of embarrassment. i think if kidomomo have any relationship issues its THIS. momo is so touchy and pda energy and kidos like 😐😐😐😐😐😐 momos like Ok 1 thousand kisses in private for me to stop kissing u in public and kido says Ok not taking the 1 thousand bit seriously but momo is serious and she WILL count them later. like she gets so good at numbers all of a sudden. kidomomo inside joke that kido is in serious kiss debt *falls to my knees abt my own hc i just pulled out of my ass* sorry thats so corny. but its so cute *bangs fist against floor*
shinaya are anti pda because theyre both nervous messes if their hands brush together shintaro starts having trouble breathing and ayano competes with him at seeing who can embarrass themselves more. shintaro is pretty pathetic but we all know that so... ayano... a girl can nervously brush her hair out of her face only so many times. pull yourself together. anyways in my delusion as you may know they get together and break up. but get together again as normaler people and theyre normaler abt pda then. i think shintaro can have his arm around ayano without either of them being a freak about it. Also ayano probably sends kisses across the room with her hands and will act sad until shintaro catches at least one invisible kiss. shintaro refuses to kiss it back but compromises with putting the invisible kiss in his pocket instead. 🙏
sorry damn i was feeling Love today....... also didnt talk abt kanoshin which is another ship i rly like because they'd explode and die before standing next to each other in public in fear of giving away that they like kissing each other on the mouth. they dont qualify for pda hcs. sorry I turned the reply of this ask into whatever this is

Character analysis and some headcanons
Let me ramble about Kenpachi Zaraki, his squad 11's top members and their unwritten rules with all their seriously bad or even icky connotations a bit. And also about why I think all of it is part of an actually beautiful plot about acceptance and defying the expectations of toxic masculinity.
Characters who defy expectations the narrative set for them earlier is one of my absolute favorite things! Even if the story or character in question isn't otherwise interesting to me, something like this I will always enjoy! Tite Kubo has my deep respect for all the times he did it (for every character with such moments, really). And while what I think about this particular topic here could obviously be mostly personal interpretation rather than actual intended fact, in my mind this will always stay a very touching and interesting subplot. So apologies in advance for the truly long text, buckle up!
And just in case, major spoiler alert throughout.
TW: bullying; abuse; violence; mention of homophobia
Lets first list the unwritten rules and the other bad assumptions first:
no kido-type swords allowed
no kido learning/use in general
people keep their abilities a secret
only men in the Squad
Squad 4 can be bullied
And now take a look at the people who (seemingly) enforce them, or rather what we are shown at first:
Kenpachi Zaraki – Taller and stronger than most others, described as brutal, murderous, crazy warrior who enjoys fighting more than anything else, who frequently challenges even allies to serious battles. A lot of his design would usually be chosen for villain-type characters, such as the small irises that give him a rather unfriendly glare; a too wide, mad grin that exposes pronounced canines; the large scars; an eye patch and a spiky hairdo that further underline the dangerous appearance. Combined with his general ignorance and lack of intelligence he paints the perfect stereotypical picture of a brutish, toxic alpha-male who doesn't tolerate weakness and oppresses others.
Tumblr media
Yachiru Kusajishi - a small, cute girl with light pink hair and a generally sunny disposition who possesses a lot of power and a pretty violent streak. Lives as Kenpachi's adopted daughter until she's revealed to be part of his Zanpakuto's spirit.
Ikkaku Madarame – His design and fighting style most resemble a Shaolin monk, with a bald head and red eye-make-up (because people can argue Ikkaku having markings instead of eye-shadow all they want, it is still very clearly in the style of traditional Japanese, female eye-make-up.) A man who enjoys fighting almost as much as his leader, but with a much more pronounced intent to kill his opponents. He's easily angered and actually enjoys frightening people on occasion by deliberately making a scary face.
Yumichika Ayasegawa – A vain, narcissistic man who's obsessed with looks as much as he enjoys fighting. The long feathers he wears on his eyelashes and brow is one of the most prominent decorative accessory (at least on the side of the good guys). And while Yumichika could be a flamboyant heterosexual guy, I'd say him being homosexual makes much more sense.
And already in these short descriptions we get some breaking up of general stereotypes and it goes on. At a cursory glance Kenpachi is just a one-dimensional, all-brawn-no-brains madman and that's pretty much the impression many of the other characters have. Once you look more closely, though, there's a lot of surprising nuance. Because the brutal, bloodthirsty leader of the fight- and strength-obsessed 11th Squad we were told about, while being all of this, also:
is immediately seen getting lost several times like an idiot for comedic relief
is so lonely that he unwittingly manifested part of his soul into a child, then adopted it to carry it around for decades (The duo resembles the main characters from Lone Wolf and Cub, and I'm pretty sure that was one of the inspirations. Although the similarity ends there, not least because the protagonist in Lone Wolf and Cub follows the Samurai codex and his son is a thousand times more annoying.)
Tumblr media
Lets Yachiru pretty much walk all over him, slapping and hair-pulling included, without any retaliation or violence directed at her ever
admires a woman as his idol and describes her as the strongest person he ever met
Has a female sword-spirit (who's in part the small, very girly girl)
Bathes everyday and styles his hair for hours
Has a gay dude and in general the guys with some of the most obvious make-up and fashion accessories as his highest ranking Squad members without giving them flak for it. (Kenpachi looked like he wore eyeliner in the anime sometimes too. He didn't in the manga, but if you look at certain anime-scenes – that's a clear design choice they made there!)
Has no interest in fighting anyone who's clearly weaker than him and does so only if he has to as part of the job or if attacked first. And will complain about it the whole time.
Lets most opponents alone once they can't fight anymore and is even annoyed whenever an opponent doesn't stay down and has to be killed for real. (This is the case with most of the serious fights. Opponents who survived are: Ichigo, Tosen, Ikkaku, Ichinose, Yammy. Nnoitra died, but only after getting the chance to stay down.)
Befriends or admires people who defeated him (Unohana, Ichigo)
Is the only one who didn't subjugate his Zanpakuto-spirit for it's abilities, but got them by being kind and loving for decades instead
is not fighting out of permanent anger, but because he enjoys a real battle like nothing else
With all of what we see from the source materials, be it manga, anime or both (yes, including filler arcs), it makes me wonder how much of the unwritten rules are conjectures done by others made on behalf of Kenpachi. Now don't get me wrong, as stated, the guy lacks self-awareness to a baffling degree and his views do limit his subordinates greatly! Discovering and getting in touch with his own strength and soul is his main character-plotline after all.
However, the question stands. How much of this is people going: “You said A, B and C – so we assumed XYZ.” (?)
People do this all the time. I'm sure we all did at some point, and hopefully were corrected and learned for the future. But that's not what automatically always happens. And the hero-worship that the 11th has for their leader is very expressive and enthusiastic. At times it even resembles the annoying level of obsession Kiyone and Sentarō show towards Ukitake. This seems to get worse after the 1000 year blood war arc. It's not hard to picture them taking Kenpachi's every word as gospel and running with it.
Tumblr media
Everything points to captains being able to run their squads however the hell they want, with very little limitations or regard for members. Look at the 12th, Mayuri exploded unsuspecting members of his division without a second thought or repercussions. The way he treats Nemu is highly abusive, yet no one cares. At least not enough to step in or forbid this behavior. So what's not wanting to recruit certain people in comparison? No big deal, that's what it would be. Especially since there are 12 other Divisions people can pick. If these are things the captain truly wants, why are these unwritten rules?
No kido-type swords
Looking at what this does, namely Yumichika hiding his abilities from everyone even at the risk of being killed, makes this the worst one and a key issue. A Zanpakuto and it's abilities are part of a Shinigami's soul and personality. By hiding and denying his powers it's clear from the start that this man lives in an environment that wouldn't accept him for what he is. That he doesn't want to be anywhere else makes changing this issue extremely difficult to nigh impossible with this setup. And since he is depicted as a rather stereotypical gay man, it absolutely very quickly implies that this is the thinly veiled depiction of the struggle of every queer person who fears having their coming out. (Which makes it all the more sad that this hasn't been clearly resolved and might never be in canon.)
And it wouldn't be only Yumichika. Achieving even Shikai is not common and there are constantly new recruits. There will inevitably be quite a few people who discover a non-melee type Zanpakuto in time and be just as tormented about it.
The fighting style Kenpachi loves the most is direct clashing of steel on steel, up close and personal, that's stated multiple times. He can't, or rather doesn't even try to, use kido (until much later). Furthermore a lot of the opponents with kido-type abilities were relatively boring and/or disappointing to him in the end, like Tōsen and Ichinose. Often kido-abilities are distance attacks or support a fighting style that's more covert.
This, combined with the general notion he had before being defeated by Ichigo that talking with and fighting alongside one's zanpakuto is nonsense, could easily have resulted in him saying he doesn't like people having kido-zanpakuto.
On the other hand, what constitutes as kido-sword? The wiki makes the distinction between element and kido as separate types. But during the battle against Baraggan, Ōmaeda says he wished he'd have a kido-sword with flames or ice.
This makes me question whether the element-abilities are actually nothing else than kido. And if that's the case there are multiple examples for incredibly strong fighters, like head-captain Yamamoto or Hitsugaya. No one would call these two weak. His idol, Unohana, has a sword that might have acid-related abilities, which would make it another example, maybe even the most important one. That in turn makes me wonder whether he actually made this rule or whether he said something negative about several former enemies and their abilities every now and then and his Squad interpreting it as: “Obviously our captain hates kido-Zanpakuto! Therefore no one in our Squad is allowed to have one!”
Kenpachi is notorious for having little interest in anything besides fighting and his ignorance toward himself can not be overstated. The man limited his abilities, most of his talent and power unconsciously as a child to the point where he couldn't hear his own Zanpakuto nor recognize it's manifestation, then further impaired himself by adding bells that give his position away and slapping a seal on his right eye (which means no depth perception along less Reiatsu, mind).
Tumblr media
Is this a guy one can expect to realize that people make wrong assumptions on his behalf?
Or did it go more along the lines of:
Statement: Kido-swords are lame
Assumption: No kido-type Zanpakuto allowed
Reaction: No one here has kido-swords? Less hassle for me to find people who can help them train with those.
Conclusion: People hiding their abilities
Now, Komamura did say that Kenpachi couldn't look past appearances and wasn't able to see someone's inner strength. That was after Kenpachi tried goading him into a fight, though. Komamura hid his face for over a century because he feared the rejection and enmity of others and understandably was quite vulnerable in that moment. For all that Kenpachi isn't the sharpest tool in the shed on many occasions, he does know how to get under people's skin if he puts his mind to it. But what was said earlier shows that he doesn't care about appearances at all. That he isn't shocked about Komamura's face, because a guy's appearance isn't important in a fight. He has only two criteria:
Are they strong?
Will they fight me?
That's it. Man, woman, child, shinigami, human, hollow, beast, muscular, thin, heavy, big, small, whatever else – nothing matters except these two questions. As long as the opponent actually can fight there's no discrimination because none of it is indicative of abilities. And Yumichika definitely does fight well, he's third seated officer later on with only fighting prowess sans abilities, much like Kenpachi for most of the story.
Does Yumichika really have to fear not being accepted, then?
The most beautiful resolve to this whole issue would obviously be Yumichika somehow being forced to reveal his abilities and Kenpachi just excitedly going: “Interesting! When did you learn that? Lets try it out in a sparring match!” And maybe calling him an idiot for thinking this would ever be a problem after being clued in on the worries. I can see Ikkaku being angry only because Yumichika didn't tell him the very moment he knew. Not only because I love the characters, but I genuinely think this would be most in character for them. It would unravel the awful situation and further flip the stereotypes upside down. As in having the people that were assumed to be the most biased and negative turn out to be the ones most accepting. It would solidify the found family aspect of the 11th so much more as well. And it would be a great metaphor for someone being cherished just as much for who they are after coming out. And there can't be enough of that in any media.
2. no kido learning/use in general
This ties in with the first and is already kind of negated by Kenpachi using flash step later on. If this one was ever really a thing the 11th can take him using it as example to reconsider.
3. people keep their abilities a secret
While this sounds like point one at first glance, especially after the long-ass meta earlier, it isn't quite. Ikkaku is able to use Bankai for years and has a melee-type Zanpakuto, yet still keeps it a secret. There are only a select few who know and his captain isn't one of them.
The reason he gives is that he wants to fight until he dies under Zaraki and doesn't want others constantly asking him to become a captain. While this does make sense in terms of loyalty and admiration towards Zaraki, it doesn't explain why he keeps it a secret from said captain too.
Even with the shortage of captains after Aizen's betrayal it's not very likely to get promoted into such a position without consent. If nothing else, this is a surefire way of getting bad results. So why then? Is it because he fears surpassing his leader in this regard would anger or somehow disappoint him? From everything else we see of Kenpachi there is no indicator that might be a thing. On the contrary, stronger fighters with more abilities mean better fights, even if it's just sparring.
Kenpachi tells Ichinose that fighting people without own goals is no fun and that loyalty is different to relying on people. Then there's the speech he gives to new recruits, more specifically, that he won't restrict any viewpoints nor sanction them. And this isn't just blah, the way members of Squad 11 are shown to act in his vicinity reflects this. People sit or stand when he's around and bow when the situation calls for it, like an enthusiastic deferential greeting, but there's no kneeling going on as far as we can see. And Aramaki is quite relaxed when he speaks with him. (And in the recruitment fair brochure the answer about the atmosphere in the division is: “We get along and have fun.”)
As conclusion, someone who's loyal while having their own goals and opinions should be someone he would value. Ikkaku is almost the definition of that. He's strong, skilled, independent and probably couldn't stand to be anywhere where he had to go against what he believes in. That makes me think, while admiring Zaraki as much as he does, he misunderstands a lot about the man's views.
Another example of this is what happens after Ikkaku fought Ichigo. He apologized to Kenpachi for surviving after losing. Even though the same guy explicitly told him years earlier, after he beat him in a fight, not to ask to be killed. To consider himself lucky, live, get stronger and fight again. In a way that had enough lasting impact on Ikkaku to keep on going, but apparently didn't fully register all the way.
And for all the talking on eye-level people could probably do in the 11th, people will most likely uphold the gap to higher-ups out of habit, respect, and in this particular case sometimes fear as well. Under these circumstances it makes a bit more sense where this unwillingness to show his abilities comes from. But if that's the case it very much is a misconception.
4. only men in the Squad
This is maybe the weirdest one. We don't actually know for certain if there aren't any women in the 11th, but none is ever shown.
Again, the person Kenpachi strived to be like and still admires is a woman. Yachiru (never mind what else she is) is obviously a girl and extremely strong, so her position is warranted and unquestioned outside and inside the division. Then the already mentioned things about how Kenpachi completely doesn't give a shit about appearances, only whether or not someone stands their ground. All of this could point to be the most clear indication of conjecture or a combination of unfortunate circumstances.
We got very little information about the former leader of the 11th, Kenpachi Kiganjō. Shinji describes him as a piggish slacker who never did what he was told, while Ichinose believed he had a deep sense of justice. We have even less about the rules this guy had, but the background characters that can be seen during the flashbacks are also all male. Then we can take a look at the recruitment brochure again where Zaraki's statement is that only strong guys should join. Yachiru however says no weak people should join. As far as I'm aware 'guys' can be used as a universal address for groups of people, women and men. But lets consider what a new female recruit might see/hear, especially given that the inner motivations and believes of characters aren't known to anyone but us as audience, unless explicitly shown or stated.
The Squad is full of brutish thugs who love fighting.
There are no women besides a little girl, who might be related to the leader in some way
The brochure says guys in the address
Everything people have to say about Zaraki Kenpachi - which excludes aaall the nice things we know and leaves them with the picture of the toxic masculine lunatic
Yeah, I wouldn't want to join either... As conclusion, I put this one under unfortunate, completely wrong conjecture, though.
5. Squad 4 can be bullied
We see this happened and it's obviously bad. Given, Unohana stepped in and scared the shit out of the guys who did it on her own turf, but it shouldn't be a thing in the first place. That said, does Kenpachi know about this?
Unohana was the first Kenpachi, she has an iron grip on things, and someone who was on the receiving end of her 'kind' reminder that their lives are in her Squad's hands while they're there will most likely never forget to be polite again. So there's no real reason for her to complain. Apart from that, seeing how Hanatarō said that the 4th is weak and therefore always ends up doing all the chores, like cleaning the sewers, makes me think this isn't just the 11th treating them badly. (Which again, worse still.)
Anyone beside Unohana that we see of the 4th are usually rather timid. Isane has trouble talking to other captains even after she became one herself. So...
Did anyone from the 4th ever dare to walk up to Zaraki Kenpachi to complain about his Squad being mean to them? If that mental image made you laugh even a tiny bit we are in agreement. That probably never happened. He might not know then. The question is how he would react if he found out?
One interesting thing to remember is that Kenpachi has actually little problems with regular people who are weak. Not that he meets many after joining the Gotai 13, but whenever he's around those there's no such thing as killing sprees or bouts of violent outbursts.
Tumblr media
The issue is with anything and anyone who should be able to fight, like fellow Shinigami or Hollows, but isn't cutting it – or rather him. He is incredibly bored most of the time. As such his Squad will definitely pick up on his dissatisfaction with 'the weaklings' all around them, which could have turned into everyone is fair game. But frankly, being the power house he is, being weak applies to almost anyone including other captains and the whole 11th. Based on that there's actually little basis for them to look down on other divisions. Conjecture again, then?
We can only speculate what would happen if he found out about his Squad's behavior. He'd probably tell whoever has grievances to grow a spine and just show the ones treating them badly this isn't going to fly. At the worst this would change nothing and stay a problem. But at times he can come up with unexpected insights, especially when it comes to things he knows. More brutal, constant sparring matches with the persons in question that leave them in need of healing from the 4th may work wonders on people's attitudes. But alas, unless we get more material all is just more musings and head-canons.

“You really need to stop with your assaults Gojo,” Fushiguro stated, as he pressed his index and middle finger on the middle of his forehead, as he remembered the pain that came along with your flick as well as complaining about the side head slap he had gained from you.
“Nah, you just got to stop asking stupid questions Fushiguro,” you commented back before asking Kugisaki want she was planning to get.
‘So make sure you’re not alone in this world like I am Y/N, I want you to be happy even when we’re both stuck with this burden!’
‘I’m trying mother,’ you thought, as you tightly gripped your phone that was still in your pocket.
                                              ꕥ
“I never really thought you were the type that would go to the beach,” you commented, as you leisurely walked towards the calm ocean with a pair of arms wrapped around yours (that was holding your shoes) since your mother wanted to walk side by side with you to enjoy this tranquil moment together.
“I never thought that about myself either, but it’s better to be surprised then going back to the city again, is it not?” your mother asked with a let out a gentle laugh before instantly halting the moment you both felt the warm water covering your bare feet.
“I guess so,” you stated before using your other arm to partly cover your face due to the sunlight brightly blinding your eyes. However, it seemed like where your mother was standing wasn’t causing her too much irritation - maybe it wasn't as bright from where she was.
Currently, it was sunset at Tatadohama beach - to which surprised you that there weren’t as many people as you thought - where your mother had taken you since she thought you both deserved a bit of a break before you could go back to school since it was the summer break and to be honest, you needed it since you and your mother just came back from a job of exorcising a grade-one curse while trying to escape the scene before any other jujutsu sorcerers came.
“You look beautiful though, your mother has good taste doesn’t she?” your mother teasingly asked in a rhetorical manner, as she took her time to observe you rather than the sunset that was in front of her. Right now, you were some simple jean shorts that were somewhat quite large letting the gentle breeze cool you down leading you to fasten a black belt with a silver buckle which tucked in a simple short-sleeved oversized white button-up shirt that was loose, so you wouldn’t feel tight around your upper body as well as dressing for the warm weather that was approaching.
“It is quite plain, but it’s simple and cute,” you commented, as you peered down at your mother’s clothing choices before looking back up to view the beautiful setting in front of you, as your mother smiled gently before placing her head on your shoulder.
“Promise me that you’ll be okay,” your mother suddenly uttered quietly, leading you to give off a confused look before turning your head down slightly only to discover a small smile on her face with softened eyes as if she was relishing the moment with you.
“You’re acting like you're going to die tomorrow,” you comedically commented, leading your mother to laugh at your statement which caused you to giggle slightly since your mother’s laugh was always contagious when you were with her. Taking a deep breath in to calm down, your mother slowly calmed down before lifting her head up as she sighed.
“Well, anything can happen and I want your word that you will do anything to be safe,” your mother expanded on her previous statement, causing you to turn to her to look at her in the eye, trying to see and understand what your mother really wanted you to know before you nodded at her with a small smile.
“I promise mother”

“Oi Y/N, wake up”
Slowly opening your eyes, you slowly blinks a few times as you try to get a clearer view from what you were looking at before steadily realising that you were at the track field where you were training with the rest of the students.
Shifting your eyes to look up slightly, only to discover all the upperclassmen looking down at you with the tree leaves covering you from the sunlight that was beaming down right now.
‘Oh...that’s right, I’m at Jujutsu Tech’
“Sorry for making you fight with all of us, I bet you were exhausted, but we need you to check up on Megumi and Nobara since they went to do some errands,” Panda expressed with hands pressed together as a sign of forgiveness.
“Kelp,” Inumaki commented as if affirming Panda’s statement leading you to sit up slowly before stretching your arms to get read of the stiffness that was consuming them before taking in Zenin’s outstretched arm to help you up - something you both been doing for quite some time during the week - before picking up the black track top of brought out for today’s training that you were laying on top of.
“Sorry for sleeping, where are they?” you asked, as you covered your mouth to yawn since you didn’t want to seem rude to your second-year seniors.
“They should be getting a few drinks for themselves and us from the vending machines, they didn’t want to wake you up, but we knew they probably need some help remembering what we want,” Zenin answered, as she used her thumb to point behind her the direction you needed to take.
“Sorry, I’ll get going then,” you commented before tying the track top around your waist before picking up your black katana since you didn’t want to leave it alone before waving at them when you were beginning to head off.
“I’ll see you guys later,” you mentioned before Inuamki shouted ‘Salmon’ back at you before you swiftly made your way up the stone steps to find both your classmates Fushiguro and Kugisaki to get the drinks that the other wanted since you knew that they’ll probably both forget or take too long for your senior’s liking.
“I’m surprised she can still run after all those practice matches,” Panda stated, as he continued to stare at the direction that you headed out in.
“She’s strong, there is no surprise Gojo has taken her into his family and out of training to take some missions,” Zenin commented before continuing with, “she comes back really quickly to resume training with us,”.
“Mustard leaf,” Inumaki mentioned, as he nodded at his classmate’s remark about you before all of the second years went off for their walk, as they gave you time to run your errands before coming back to the field to train for the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event.
                                               ꕥ
Looking at her drinks in front of her, Kugisaki was disappointed at the lack of variety that the machines had as she groaned in annoyance before pressing her choice of the cold drink she wanted before checking to make sure there was orange juice in the vending machine since she knew you would want some when she got back to you.
“Couldn’t they put in a few more vending machines?” Kugisaki asked in an irritated tone, as she bent down to collect her drink from the takeout port before turning around to look at her classmate, who was standing behind her.
“They can’t. There are only so many workers who can come in here,” Fushiguro answered, as he turned to look at her only for the female to turn back around to place more money into the coin slot. “What else are you buying?” Fushiguro asked since he knew that Kugisaki as well as himself didn’t know what the upperclassmen wanted - that was usually your job.
“Gojo really likes orange juice, so I wanted to buy her some since she did train with all of us, I bet she’s still sleeping,” Kugisaki commented before contemplating if you wanted to bottle or carton version of the citrus juice since she didn’t know if you always bought the carton one on purpose.
However, before she could come to the conclusion on what you probably wanted, she noticed from the corner of her eye that there were two people standing at the other side of the outdoor hallway they were at. From what she can observe, it seemed like those two people were from Jujutsu Tech due to their uniforms as the male had what seemed to be an angry expression while the other student - who looked similar to Zenin Maki - had a sly smile on her face.
“What are you doing here, Zenin-senpai?” Fushiguro asked in confusion since he wasn’t expecting anyone from Kyoto Metropolitan Curse Technical College to come to their side.
“Oh, she’s one, too?” Kugisaki queried while turning her head to look at Fushiguro before continuing with, “They do seem similar, are they sisters?” as she turned back to look at the female student to get a closer look at her.
“They’re twins,” Fushiguro answered quickly.
“Don’t call me that, Fushiguro-kun. You make me sound the same as Maki, call me Mai,” Mai stated, as she gave the two Tokyo students a wink.
“So there are the pinch hitters for Okkotsu and the third-years?” the male student stated with a hostile tone while glaring at them with a look of pure disappointment.
“We came here with the principal because we were worried about you. Your classmate died, right? Was that rough? Or did you think nothing of it?” Mai asked with the smirk still painted on her face, leading Fushiguro and Kugisaki to tense at her sudden but somewhat offensive questions.
“What are you trying to say?” Fushiguro asked tensely, as he suddenly felt a slight bit of annoyance building up in his stomach.
“It’s okay, some things are hard to say out loud, so I’ll say it for you,” Mai amusingly stated before proceeding, “‘Vessel’ makes it sound nice, but it means he was a half-curse monster. Having such a tainted, inhuman being beside you brazenly calling himself a jujutsu sorcerer must have been revolting right? Aren’t you feeling better now that he’s dead?”. However, her questions only lead to extremely vexed expressions appearing on both of the Tyoko student’s faces.
“Mai, don’t bring up such pointless topics, I’m only here to see if these guys are fit to take Okkotsu’s place, that’s all I want to know,” the large male declared as he took a few steps forwards before throwing his school jacket to the side, leading to the shikigami sorcerer to tense up once again as he began to worry what was about to happen.
“Fushiguro, was it?” the large male asked before shouting in a proud manner…
“What kind of woman is your type?”
Suddenly perplexed, Fushiguro as well as Kugisaki, shifted their heads to the side simultaneously to convey their unexpected confusion to the two Tokyo students especially to the male that had just asked the weird as well as absurd question.
“Depending on your answer, I’ll beat you half to death right here and drag Okkotsu, or at least the third-years, out to the exchange event,” the large Kyoto student threatened as he processed to unexpectedly and violently ripped his purple shirt into shreds, showcasing his large muscular upper body before positioning himself in his usual fighting stance as he then suddenly announced, “by the way, my type is a tall woman with a big ass!”.
“Why do I have to talk about my taste in women with a guy I just met?” Fushiguro annoyingly asked as he began to express an irritated expression on his face at the Kyoto student that suddenly declared a fight out of nowhere.
“He’s right. That’s a tall hurdle for an antisocial guy,” Kugisaki unintentionally comedically commented, as she pointed at her stoic classmate, leading Fushiguro to express a more vexed expression.
“You be quiet. This is confusing enough already. You’ll just make it more complicated,” Fushiguro mentioned as an irked mark became more visible on his right cheek, displaying his displeasure on what was happening right now.
“Kyoto, third-year, Todo Aoi,” the Kyoto Tech sorcerer introduced himself. “Introduction over,” Todo announced as he then continued by saying, “now we’re friends. Hurry up and answer, if you prefer men, that’s fine too,”.
“A person’s fetishes reflect everything about them,” Todo explained, indicating the reason why he was asking his laughable question in the first place. “People with boring taste in women are boring people themselves,” Todo passionately proclaimed, as if he was presenting a speech to the whole of Japan at this moment in time before he exclaimed, “I hate boring men.”
“And I hate drags like you”
Turning his head slightly to view what was going on behind him, Todo managed to get a glimpse of a person that was right behind his school mate. A female standing with her hands in her pockets with what seemed to be a katana hanging horizontally unlike Okkotsu, who had his vertically, with a nonchalant expression painted on her face.
“Also your drag ass friend, she has quite a big mouth for a Grade three sorcerer from what I can sense, is this what I’m really fighting against Fushiguro?” you asked before you started to walk past the other sorcerer as you made your way to the vending machine to grab the drinks that the second-years usually requested when they made you run errands during a break from training.
“Gojo! You’re awake?” Kugisaki asked as she smiled at you before quickly mentioning there was money already in the machine since she was planning to get you your drink.
“You heard everything?” Fushiguro questioned as he turned his view to you, only to discover you pressing on the button that correlated to the carton of orange juice as you mentioned to Kugisaki that you were going to pay her back before turning your head to look at your other classmate.
“Yeah, I heard everything. You guys are loud and to be honest, both of them need to shut up, they’re such drags,” you muttered disrespectfully since you could tell they were at least a year or two years above you in the academic year.
However, it seemed like your insult didn’t stop Todo from explaining his passion for people’s preferences in a partner as he continued to declare his speech with pride, much to your complete dismay.
“As I was saying, the exchange event is where my soul can be free as blood boils and flesh clashes, who knows what I might do if my last exchange event ends up boring me?” Todo rhetorically questioned as he maintained his fighting stance as if he was ready to pounce within a  second with a confident smile on his face.
‘Shut up...I have to meet with Gojo-sensei later and I don’t want a massive headache to come in before it becomes worse when I see him’
“Hey, aren’t the Jujutsu Tech schools four-year schools?” Kugisaki asked in an unsure manner as she turned to look at Fushiguro since she was trying to take note from you on what drinks to buy in case you weren’t able to for the seniors. However, she was confused about why Todo mentioned that this was going to be his last exchange event when he was a thrid-year.
“Only third-years and under can join the exchange event,” Fushiguro quickly answered Kugisaki’s question as she then let out an understandable ‘Hmm’ to inform her classmate that she acknowledged what he had just told her before swiftly turning back to notice that you had brought a cold water bottle for what seemed to be for Zenin (Maki) since you and her were looking at your phone to see a note displayed on the screen.
“As a show of kindness, I’ll let you off only half-dead right now,” Todo threatened again before repeating the weird question that instinctively started this whole situation, “answer me, Fushiguro. What kind of woman is your type?”
“Is this some kind of comedy routine?” the shikigami user angrily asked, as he increasingly got annoyed at what was happening right now and was confused on why he was picked in the first place.
“Don’t get into a fight, I seriously can’t be bothered to use any reverse cursed technique to heal your wounds if you do and we need to get back to training soon,” you stated before pressing on the last button for the last drink that was needed to be given for Inumaki when you get back.
However, it seemed as if both of your classmates didn’t listen to you since Kugisaki was now observing the other student behind Todo due to her uniform. “Is that your summer uniform?” Kugisaki asked in a light tone, as she admired the outfit before continuing with “ticks me off, but it’s nice”.
“Are you both even listening?” you muttered in annoyance before grabbing the small bag - that you kept from the time you went to your mother’s grave - in the pocket of your nylon cargo pants to place the drinks after you had got them from the dispenser since you didn't want to struggle to carry them.
Looking to his side, Fushiguro looked at his classmate as he began to analyse the situation that was currently going on. From what he could gather, Kugisaki was unarmed and didn’t have her usual hammer with her like she normally did meaning he was wanting to avoid any confrontation that could happen at this moment in time, while you were armed with your usual katana, yet he didn’t want to risk you revealing your true identity to the Kyoto students - not like he really had to worry about that.
‘Not forgiving people isn’t a bad thing. That’s just part of your kindness, isn’t it?’
That’s what his sister said to him once.
“I don’t have a particular preference, as long as she has unshakeable character, I won’t ask for more,” Fushiguro answered, to which you were surprised since you predicted that he wasn’t the type to reveal that sort of information. On the other hand, it seemed like Mai was pleased with the answer as she smiled sweetly at the boy causing you to shudder.
‘Ain’t...they like….family…?’
“Not a bad answer, if you had said something like ‘big boobs,’ I’d have killed you,” Kugisaki mentioned with a please expression on her face since she was relieved at the fact Fushiguro wasn’t suggestive like the Kyoto student in front of you three right now.
“Shut up,” Fushiguro muttered in an irritated tone.
However, it seemed like not everyone was pleased with his answer, as a tear was shed on a cheek.
“I knew it...You’re boring, Fushiguro,” Todo stated in a depressed manner before swiftly pushing himself to swing Fushiguro violently outside the hallway you were standing.
“DIDN’T I SAY NOT TO GET INTO FIGHTS, YOU DRAG?!” you screamed, as you turned your head to the direction where Fushiguro was struck away.
“FUSHIGURO!” Kugisaki panicked as she began to rush to his aid before a pair of arms was wrapped around her to halt her movement.
“Poor Fushiguro-kun, even a talented second-grade jujutsu sorcerer is nothing more than a first-year against the top-grade Todo-senpai, I’ll have to comfort him later,” Mai expressed with a sickly-sweet tone. However, you already had something to say.
“That may be true, but your Todo-senpai is nothing against a special-grade,” you mentioned with a smirk on your face, causing the female sorcerer to look towards you with widened eyes before suddenly remembering what Kugisaki called you by.
“Gojo…” Mai stuttered.
“Gojo, I’m okay! Just make sure Fushiguro is,” Kugisaki said to you with a proud smile on her face, causing you to drop the bag that you had in hand before quickly untying the red charm that was at the end of your katana.
‘I don’t need to unsheathe my katana, but I can’t use any of my curse spells to restrain him, so the chain will have to do’
“Hold this for me!” you shouted as you swiftly tossed the charm in her direction to which she caught easily since her arms still had movement before you rushed towards the scene where Fushiguro and Todo was.
‘This is such a drag right now…’ you thought, as you made it outside to find Fushiguro kneeling on the ground with a few new scratches on his face as well as his now stained blue track. However, it seemed as if Todo wasn’t done with his first attack since he was talking towards the Tokyo student like he was his prey.
On the other hand, you didn’t seem to care as you looked at him with an annoyed expression - even though you knew it wasn’t his fault. “Didn’t I say not to get into any fights? I can’t be bothered to use any reversed cursed techniques right now and I don’t want to bother Shoko-san since I need to train with her to know how to use it properly!” you raged, yet once again, it seemed like both of the male sorcerer’s weren’t listening to you.
“I knew at first glance that you were a boring guy, but you shouldn’t judge a person by their looks, right?” Todo questioned rhetorically again, causing the flames of rage to increase inside your soul since this situation was getting a little too similar to the one back at the detention centre.
“So I went out of my way to ask you, but you just trampled on my kindness,” Todo whined with a pout on his face while wiping the dripping tears that continued to fall.
“Is your brain as pineapple as your head?” Fushiguro insulted, as he gave the senior a weirded-out look.
“You’re the one to talk, hedgehog!” you screamed in annoyance since you were getting frustrated at the fact that no one was listening to you.
“I heard you don’t use cursed techniques.” Fushiguro randomly mentioned as he got up on his feet causing you to look at him with a death glare as well as suddenly being curious about what he meant by ‘don’t use cursed techniques’.
“Huh? Oh, that’s rumour’s false, I used them against the special-grade,” Todo plainly stated like it was an everyday face before raising his arm to wave his hand side to side as if to ‘slap’ away the rumours that were going on about him before continuing with, “but I heard rumours going around about a girl that went toe-to-toe with Sukuna, she was fighting with you right? Where is she?”
‘MAYBE THE GIRL THAT IS BEHIND YOU, SHOUTING AT YOU DRAGS!’
“That’s a relief to hear!” Fushiguro declared as if he was confident, causing you to look at him enraged with fury.
“THAT IS NOT A RELIEF TO HEAR, YOU DRAG!” you screamed, as you were now handing on an extremely thin piece of thread that was going to snap any second, leading you to attack both of them if this got out of hand.
However, once again, Fushiguro and Todo didn’t listen to you for one second as the shikigami sorcerer began to signal his shikigami to appear with the familiar hand-sign of ‘Nue’ back with you fought with him against Sukuna and ‘Gama’ from when you were training with him - yet, you were completely perplexed on what he had combined when both together.
Suddenly, a familiar shadow began to swiftly emerge from the ground before it suddenly took form into something you didn’t really expect from the Ten-Shadow Technique sorcerer.
“Frogs with wings?” you muttered, as you stared at the sight in complete surprise since you didn’t expect to see a few frogs with wings appearing in front of you - you never thought you see something like this in your life, to be honest.
“Bottomless Well!” Fushiguro chanted before a few of the frogs croaked in response causing you to stare that the creature in a now unreadable expression.
‘They will be weaker than their counterpart shikigami but they do have many benefits....didn’t Gojo-sensei mention something about the Kamo’s family?’
On the other hand, it seemed like your future opponent in the exchange event didn’t seem so nervous about the technique. Of course, from what you remembered from training as well as some knowledge that you had gained just from seeing one movement from Todo, you had come to the conclusion that he was a close-range fighter, probably had some experience with weapons since it would be foolish if a fighter didn’t have any sense it was a risk of them just having knowledge with their hands.
However, before you could even continue to gain more knowledge just by looking at the back of the well muscular sorcerer, there was a quick shift in the air causing you to snap out of your trance only to find Todo behind suddenly behind Fushiguro as he processed to wrap his arms around your classmate’s waist.
“Flimsy and shallow...Both your body and your taste in women!” Todo shouted before lifting Fushiguro upwards like he weighed nothing before aggressively smashing his headfirst into the ground behind him, causing you to discover how flexible the Kyoto student was before he suddenly jumped up into the air to give his opponent a punch, only for Fushiguro to dodge just in time, yet that didn’t seem to last since the second he moved away to gain some distance, he was violently smacked with a fist.
“Fushiguro!” you shouted, before quickly forcing the soles of your sheet to push your body forward to an extreme length, just in time to get in between both of the male sorcerers that were fully ignoring you since the moment you entered into the conversation to grab the drinks.
“Gojo!” Fushiguro yelled out in a panic since he was extremely worried that you were now taking a hit for him.
However, it seemed like Todo was now suddenly the one that was worried since his incoming punch seemed to hit something really small since it didn’t cover all his knuckles, yet it didn’t break like he thought it would, causing him to let the debris slowly clear away as his eyes began to notice the sight of a sleek black wooden scabbard standing vertically from the ground halting his extremely large fist, while you were kneeling down behind it, holding the handle with an extremely displeased look on your face with Fushiguro behind you as your other hand had a grip on the collar of his blue track jacket.
“You know Fushiguro, you are full of surprises but a complete drag when it comes to not listening to me,” you muttered, before slowly letting go of his collar as your turned your now free hand to face Kyoto Student in front of you, who was looking down at you with a shocked expression on his face.
“Todo Aoi right? You see, Gojo-sensei asked me to meet up with him and I don’t want a headache since I know he’s gonna give me one later, so I’ll see you later okay?” you sinisterly stated, before opening your palm to him as you slowly bend your middle finger towards you while placing your thumb on top of it, right on the nail.
“That looks like a nice construction sight,” you nonchalantly mentioned as you looked up at the wooden structure behind you before speedily flicking out your middle finger, causing Todo’s body to suddenly be pushed back with an extremely large force of cursed energy leading to the wooden panels to instantly break once his body made contact before you assumed his body landed on the wooden flooring that was above since you couldn’t see him anymore.
“Gojo…” Fushiguro muttered in shock as he didn’t expect something like that to happen before he noticed the same hand that flicked his opponent away was coming towards him with the same gesture.
Flicking his forehead gently, you turned to look at him with a straight face before you used the same palm to let your cursed energy become slowly positive with some concentration to heal his wound that was on his head.
“It’s not much since I haven’t perfected it yet, but it will deal with the blood loss before you go to Shoko-san, you drag” you commented before sighing.
‘There was no need for me to remove the charm after all, but that’s enough for me to gain information for the event’
“Megumi! Y/N!” someone shouted, causing you both to look up only to find your second-year seniors Inumaki and Panda looking down below you to where you remembered flicking Todo towards, leading you to assume that they went to where there was the most ruckus was happening. However, next to Panda was Todo, who smirked down at the sight of both of you below.
“Fushiguro, let’s train our hardest okay?” you muttered, so only your classmate could hear, leading him to look at your with confused eyes before you turned to him with a smile, “you’re really strong, but I know you and Kugisaki can get stronger, so just follow me when I need you to okay?” you asked, before standing up on your feet once you managed to stop the blood loss from Fushiguro’s head.
“Panda-senpai! Inumaki-senpai! Can you take Fushiguro to Shoko-san, Gojo-sensei said he needs me for a discussion, I assume Maki-san is with Kugisaki!” you yell out.
“Salmon!” Inuamki shouted back before all of the three sorcerers were out of your sights, causing you to turn back to Fushiguro before giving your hand to him to help himself up.
‘Grade-one Todo Aoi and grade-three Zenin Mai ha?’
                                          ꕥ
“Ah Y/N, my daughter there you are!” Gojo cheered in delight once he saw you on the other side of the sliding door before you decided to step in since it was left open, to who you assumed was your adoptive dad that opened it earlier for his own reason.
“Excuse me,” you muttered before taking a quick glance around the room before noticing that there were only two more people with you and Gojo right now. From a side glance, you noticed a girl, probably the same age as you or maybe a year older at the latest, with long blue hair with a slightly slanted fridge wearing a suit that seemed to suit her really well even if her youthful and adorable face.
‘A semi grade two? No..maybe three like Mai…’
However, as your eyes shifted to the sight on the opposite side where Gojo was seated, there was an old man seated while holding onto a wooden cane, who seemed to be somewhere in his late 80s but you wouldn’t tell since he seemed too hollow for you liking, yet something about him gave you an off-putting feeling.
“I wanted to tell you about the two special-grade curses that attacked me the other day,” Gojo happily mentioned with a smile on his face, causing you to look at him with a confused expression since he seemed too happy for someone that got attacked.
“Why do you look so happy? That should be the opposite reaction Gojo-sensei,” you remarked, as you made your way towards him only for his response to be a little pout.
“How many times do I have to tell you? You can call me your dad,” Gojo childishly whined.
“Never,” you shut down his offer as quickly as you could before uttering him to tell you about the special curses he wanted to inform you about, only for him to suddenly pull out a piece of paper with two childish drawings on them, causing you to look at the art in a fed-up manner before snatching it off his hand to get a closer look at the curses that he masterfully drew.
“As I said before, the two cursed spirits were capable of communication and they probably have allies who are just as strong,” Gojo declared in a serious manner, causing you to shiver at the 180-degree personality turn that he had done right in front of you.
“It’s not just our enemies, either. Hakari, Okkotsu, your Todo and now my daughter Gojo. The level of our students has risen drastically in recent years, as well,” Gojo stated as he stared at the old man before he processed with, “then there was last year’s incident with Geto Suguru and now, the appearance of Sukuna’s vessel,”.
“What are you trying to say?” the old man asked, as he looked at your adoptive father with an expressionless look on his face (not that you could ever tell if there was any expression in the first place).
“Hehe, you don’t know? The wave of power you guys have been trying to hold back with your pointless status and traditions has grown bigger than you can handle and is now descending upon us. You won’t be able to measure the coming age with the classification of ‘special grade’ if you think I’m the only one who’ll be fighting back, you’re going to get hurt, old man,” Gojo declared with a smirk on his face as he felt the presence of the realisation that was coming to you now.
‘That man...was the reason why…..Itadori….’
“I think you are getting a bit out of line,” the old man lightly threatened in a lower tone as he glared at the sorcerer in front of him.
“I think it’s you that’s getting out of line,” you muttered in vexation as you glared down hostility at the man sitting on the opposite side of the table as the paper that you were holding began to crumble in your grasp. “If you get to kill someone by using me as a tool, let me return the favour next time with your head,” you threatened in a spiteful manner causing the old man to look at you with the same hollow eyes as he did with Gojo.
“Oh! Scary! Well, that's all I wanted to say, I’ll be going now with my daughter,” Gojo mentioned, as he got up from his seat before placing his hands on each of your upper arms to push you towards the direction of the door, before guiding himself through that gap that was left open.
“Oh, Principal Yaga will be coming in about two hours. Later!” Gojo departed cheekily, before closing the door as he then guided you away from the room the higher-up was in since he knew you were in a state of shock at the discovery you had made about your deceased classmate: Itadori Yuji.
‘Those higher-ups are so useless, all they do is command other sorcerers to do their dirty work while acting if they are superior dear. If I could, I would kill all of them’
‘Mother….’

Reiya Talusan
(Bleach Shinigami SelfInsert Bio)
Squad: 11 (4th seat) Personality: Gentle | Laid back | Cheerful | Strategic | Determined Relations:
Ikkaku (Bestie/Rival/Romantic)
Yumichika (Bestie/Brotherly)
Unohana (Mentor-like)
Skills:
Good at coordinating offenses and strategy.
Excels at kido and knows low level healing, both of which is integrated into her fighting style.
Does not have the crazy amount of raw power others have in 11, but it is still above other squads.
Her zanpakuto shikai turns into a long, thin blade and it slowly “bleeds” lava. While fighting, this lava slings everywhere, hot and dangerous but not a huge threat until she activates it. All the lava in the area explodes.
Her bankai is (redacted) (she doesn’t achieve this until end of Hueco Mundo arc)
Trivia:
Often found dozing off around the barracks.
Her and Ikkaku regularly bicker and fight no matter where they are, despite being continuously reprimanded for it.
To anyone else, she is very laid back and kind.
History:
Backstory
In an area between the lawless outer districts and the more hospitable areas of Rukongai, Reiya watched daily the different ways people fought to survive. She was able to live day by day by using her wit and natural charm, often putting on a fake persona.
On one of these days, she cooly watches a fight occur from the safety of a second story window. Ikkaku wins and she wonders about how different it must be to be strong enough to solve problems by just punching them.
Once she develops reiatsu, she decides to go to the Shinigami Academy in order to live more comfortably and, most importantly, more honestly. There, she stands in line with other new students and realizes that the two she saw in the street before are standing next to her,
“It’s you-?!”
“Huh? Do I know you?” He gives her a nasty look, looming.
“N-no! It’s nothing!” She shrinks and Ikkaku is asking if she’s trying to pick a fight. They're interrupted when a teacher yells at them to knock it off.
Her, Ikkaku, and Yumichika are placed in advanced classes. Her for her skill with kido and them for their raw fighting prowess. She focuses hard on her studies, especially on medical practices to enter squad 4. Many classmates and teachers like her as she holds up her “good, gentle, studious girl” persona. She’s determined to be so useful that she won’t lose her place here. Her, Ikkaku, and Yumichika end up somehow becoming friends, her and Ikkaku’s personalities often clashing. She tends to back down easily which makes Ikkaku even more irritated because he sees that split second of fight in her eyes before she does so.
Ikkaku overhears a conversation between Reiya and a fellow student.
“You're always using your cute looks to have others pity and defend you. Someone shameful like you isn’t gonna make it as a shinigami. Not unless you're in 4 I guess.”
“Well…that is my plan.” She acts passive and the guy loses interest and leaves.
“Yknow he’s not wrong,” Ikkaku steps in to her surprise, “You’ve gotta fight your own fights.” She gets visibly upset.
“It’s not like I enjoy this! The strong can live honestly but the weak have to fight differently.”
“Then just get stronger!” She knocks off the hand he stopped her with.
“Shut up! Someone like you wouldn’t understand!”
Ikkaku finally realizes that she sees herself as weak and that’s why she acts so demure. And furthermore views him as strong.
Yumichika later comments on how distant both Ikkaku and Reiya are acting, they must have gotten into an argument. He also mentions to Ikkaku that Reiya has been invited to join both the medic focused course like she was planning or receive specialized training to join the Kido Corps. Either way, he and Ikkaku are taking the early graduation exam to pass and join 11 anyway.
Meanwhile, Reiya is looking over her two options, and is extremely shocked when Unohana suddenly joins her. She’s been informed of her intentions to join her squad, but during their conversation she sees how nervous and unsure Reiya is. She assumes it’s because she wants to join the Kido Corps, but Reiya says it’s not that exactly. Unohana advises her to take the time she needs to think over her decision.
In the practical fighting portion of the exam, several captains are watching for potential recruits. Surprisingly, Reiya is there, but it could just be for the chance to make an impression on the squad captains. The teacher explains that the exam consists of simple one on one matches to display their abilities. When they ask if any would like to volunteer first, Reiya immediately steps forth.
“Ikkaku,” she calls him out. She’s very demanding and serious and very unlike her usual self.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but if you want a fight I’m not complaining.”
“Good. There’s something I’m trying to figure out so don’t hold back.”
Ikkaku happily starts the match strong and Reiya is very obviously being overwhelmed, but as the fight continues, she starts quickly learning how to counteract him with a combination of the varied skills she’s learned. But she continues to get pushed back and she becomes more and more desperate and frustrated.
A flood of thoughts continue to run through her mind, still trying to figure out what to do. Ikkaku’s earlier comments, her original plan to join the 4th, to take the special chance to join the Corps, what it means to live honestly, and her frustration at her situation. But she can’t make a decision. During their match though, her thoughts suddenly clear. While exchanging blows, she becomes so focused on fighting that she doesn’t get the chance to focus on anything else.
Her breathing becomes ragged and as her and Ikkaku’s swords clash, her neatly tied ponytail finally falls loose and wild. With fire in her eyes and face red from exhaustion, she looks feral. Ikkaku grins.
“That expression suits you better!”
With her well manicured image gone, she’s reduced to her raw and honest self in her drive to simply fight. And Ikkaku immediately accepts her true self, having seen glimpses of it at the start. This realization hits her, and her heart, hard. As she’s flustered, Ikkaku takes the chance to knock her across the field, effectively winning the match.
Students rush to her aid, helping her up and scolding Ikkaku for being so ruthless, but as she gets up, she’s genuinely laughing. Even she’s unsure of why.
Later, after graduation, the new recruits line up to meet their new squads, Ikkaku looks over and notices Reiya standing there.
“What are you doing here?!”
“Joining the 11th squad,” she replies coyly.
“You understand what sort of squad this is, don’t you?!” Even Yumichika is panicking.
“How did you even pass the exam to get in?!” She again innocently just shrugs but as Ikkaku yells at her she finally relents.
“Ok ok, I know. To be honest, even I’m surprised I managed to get in. I’m probably the weakest one here. But it’s ok,” she comfortably looks ahead and echoes Ikkaku’s earlier words “I’ll just get stronger.” The other two fondly grin.
Kenpachi arrives and notices the one woman in the lineup. In a short flashback, he reflects on being told the list of recruits wanting to join the 11th. When it comes to Reiya’s name, he has to be reminded of who she even was and Unohana interjects to explain. She also recommends he accepts her. Considering their connection, he decides to follow her advice.
Unexplained to anyone, Unohana was watching her match closely and between the fight and their earlier conversation, she saw a glimpse of herself in Reiya and understood where she was meant to really be.
Life Within the 11th
Although Reiya initially struggles to adjust to the squad’s drastically different lifestyle, she slowly but surely fights her way up the ranks. As she becomes more confident in herself, she grows more comfortable and accepting with how she is, no longer labeling herself or others as just “weak” or “strong”. It’s not so simple. Her personality still remains intact but she now enjoys acting coy and innocent. Now that she no longer depends on it for survival, it’s just funny.
By the time she reaches 4th seat, comfortably behind Ikkaku at 3rd and in front of Yumichika at 5th, the rowdy men of the 11th squad both respect and fear her in equal parts. They fawn over her but know if anyone goes too far with it, she’ll remind them of their place. She is a dependable and unifying force within the squad, often taking on secretarial work as well as leading offensives. Her uniquely different perspective and skill set makes her invaluable.
While infamous in her own right, she and Ikkaku are known as a very dynamic pair. The two often bicker and tease each other, Reiya smiling and laughing and Ikkaku picking fights and yelling.
“I don’t mind doing the paperwork. It’s not like my superior has the brains to think of anything but fighting.” She smiles sweetly at a courier, loud enough for Ikkaku to hear.
“Don’t act like you didn’t join for the same reason!”
“Oh no, he’s picking on me again.” She mockingly hides behind the courier.
“Get out from behind him you fake, I’ll fight you right here!”
“Is that a promise?” Her eyes light up and she’s ready.
When they get going, it’s very hard for someone to even get a word in, much less stop them. Small scuffles often break out between them no matter how many times they get reprimanded for it.
Reiya almost always jumps at the chance to fight him, baiting him with just the right words. Ikkaku himself doesn’t realize, but she doesn’t aggressively go after anyone else in that way. Reiya claims that she’s determined to take Ikkaku’s seat, but Yumichika knew early on the true reason. Reiya knew she couldn’t deceive him.
“Just make a move on him. He’s dense but he’s still a man.”
“I don’t know about that, he’s only got fighting on his mind. And that’s why I have to convey it in his language. Once I finally win a fight against him, that’ll be when I make it clear.” Yumichika sighs.
“You two suit each other too well.”
Ikkaku catches himself getting flustered at sudden compliments from Reiya and becoming enamored by her determination. Unconsciously, he knows their fights are their love language.
Anyone that watches the two knows right away that there’s something going on between them. Many also assume they’re already a couple. Even Reiya and Ikkaku eventually suspect each other’s feelings, but for reasons unknown to anyone else, neither takes it any further...
(I’ve got a few more scenes in mind that occurs during the series but I have yet to draw/write it down.)

What makes Epel a Team strawberry member?
Tumblr media
*please read this if you need context: Strawberry: 2 Lines & A Circle : An in-depth description: Strawberry (tumblr.com)
I don’t believe I mentioned this in the in-depth description for team strawberry, but I’ve noticed that these members tend to have a different side to them. Whether it's a whole lot or just a little I think they all carry different sides to them. Epel, needless to say, would have this part. The first side we see is the more proper side which is just the version that Vil has made Epel play. Secondly we have his country bumpkin side where he is confident and blinded by being just cool. The last is his natural cuteness that is often seen when Epel isn’t surrounded by Vil( Ex. Harveston event).
If I had to break it down I would say that Epel’s tart side relies on his country bumpkin side while it’s his natural cute side which adds to, well cuteness of team strawberry. If you’re looking for someone similar I would definitely recommend Tsumugu Kido from Our Two Bedroom Story.
Tumblr media
Tsumugu also shares the country bumpkin as well as the clean and proper feel that Epel has, along with the occasional cute sides of him. When you’re with Tsumugu, he won’t hold back and I imagine that Epel won't hold back when it comes to his lover as well. So, yeah would recommend these two, ten out of ten.
Tumblr media
As story wise goes it is weird but here is the basics of it, you, the MC, live with a guy from work and they turn out to be your step brother. DO NOT WORRY! Tsumugu is not your step brother and you do fall in love just fine. I only recommend him because he isn’t your step brother.
If you’re interested, here’s the prologue: Our Two Bedroom Story Prologue
Also if you really like him, I’ve found a complete gameplay of his route: Love 365 - Our Two Bedroom Story - Tsumugu Kido - YouTube just don’t tell anyone you got it from me.
Interested in finding out if he’s your match? Then feel free to participate in these events! They won’t end till I’m tired of seeing their beautiful faces!
Tell me: 2 Lines & A Circle : Tell me about yourself! (tumblr.com)
Feelings in a letter: 2 Lines & A Circle : Feelings in a letter (tumblr.com)
Not so perfect: 2 Lines & A Circle : A not so perfect random date/hang out headcanon: (tumblr.com)

You Little Sneaky Fox (Cedric x Reader)
This has been in my brain and I had to write it in order to stop, also my best friend @little-diable is a co star in this(surprise bithc).Enjoy our new add on the list, Cedric Diggory
Tumblr media
Another year, another stash of newbies running around the castle. (Y/n) was walking to class alongside with her friend Chiara when she started to hear the whispers
“Of course they are slytherins”
You smirked at the young girls comment. She had to admit her and her friends walk was very noticeable and kind of demanded attention, their heads held high, usually an eyebrow raised, good posture and their shoes making a click clack sound against the well polished floor.
“you think anyone will join us this year?”
“Of course, thing is if they will be able to keep up”
She answered.(Y/n) never cared about the little kidos but it was funny to see them struggling and desperately trying to blend in by being rude and snobby, of course slytherin had a cunning reputation but there is a difference between confident and cocky, especially when you are a little kid.
Soon enough they were outside their class, as they opened the doors everyone was already at their seats and professor Snape stared right at them. Snape had a weird bond with (y/n), he knew she was powerful and she put in the work, a clear over achiever but she could be extremely stubborn, cold and sometimes even arrogant, her snarky comments were an annoyance.
“You are late”
“We like to make an entrance”
“Besides it’s only 3 minutes”
Chiara jumped in to defend her friend. They started to walk again at their assigned seats -they weren’t really assigned, they just always sat there-
“3 minutes are important young lady. 10 points from slytherin”
“Oh what a shame, how will we ever get them back?”
(Y/n) whispered just loud enough for Snape to hear and for some of the students to laugh. Snape decided to ignore her and continue with his lecture.
As they sat down (y/n) saw a note waiting for her, her name written in beautiful calligraphy. Of course no one had dared to touch it nor question who was leaving notes for the lady who was pretty well known for getting caught giving sweet love kisses in the after hours.
“Well well well,at least he is always on time”
Chiara knew about him. At first she was shocked her friend would not only consider but being genuinely interested in a hufflepuff. As much (y/n) hated to admit it, she was slowly catching feelings for Cedric, he was sweet, gentle, but also passionate. She hid her smile as she carefully opened the note
“12 am, at our spot?”
She bit her lip and looked at her friend. Chiara winked at her before giggling in a dirty manner, she was happy for her, she hadn’t seen her friend get sweaty palms and ask what she should wear in... ever really.
But her craving for him was a slow burning fire that was know getting taller. She wanted him for herself, just the little whispers of other girls saying how cute he is when he was walking down the halls were enough for her to think a hundred different ways to behead them and him. So she came up with a plan, to see if she was the only one feeling this way.
Cedric stared at her from the other side of the room. He had to admit that he felt his heart skip a beat when he saw her giggling after reading his note, he didn’t even understand how a slytherin girl could be so addicting, he was so intimidated yet drawn to her, they were a few times during their “dates” that she showed him her gentle side, nuzzling in his neck for a few seconds, a sweet gentle kiss before she runs from him, her fingers running through his hair in a soft manner.
He wanted to ask her out officially, stand next to her proudly for the world to see, however he was scared of her reaction, what if she laughed at him? taunt him and reject him? he would be heart broken.
As their class came to an end and they had time to go out in the garden and relax, Cedric was playing around with his mates and (y/n) was waiting for her chance to start her plan.
“Want to see a cool show?”
“What has your evil mind come up with?”
“Stick around and you will find out”
She shot back in a low tone as she walked towards the guys and chose to go for the ultimate threat, good ol’ malfoy. She had heard from a few “sources” that malfoy had a little crush on her, he was also a slytherin and Cedric did not like him. He was fourteen which means (y/n) would never do anything, but a little chat was enough to see what she was working with
“Morning Malfoy”
Draco turned to look at her, he was in shock but he tried to hide it not wanting to mess with his reputation. He smiled at her and run a hand through his hair in order to calm himself down’
“Morning (y/n)”
“I just wanted to come here and say that if you need any help with the spells don’t hesitate to ask me or Chiara, we’ll be happy to help you”
“T-Thanks”
Even this part was amusing to her, seeing the arrogant, rude and full of himself little malfoy stutter when he talks to a girl, just this thing was a personal win for her, making boys stutter and lose their cool around her was her drug of choice. She took one step closer towards him and shyly licked her upper lip
“Oh don’t mention it, you are one of us right?”
Before he could respond (y/n) turned her back to him and walked to her friend. With the corner of her eye she saw her real target, Cedric. He had stopped playing and was looking in her direction, over the time they had spend together she had learned how he expresses his feelings and she could clearly understand by the way he looked at her, his lips slightly parted and how he nodded his head that he was livid.
Chiara was giggling, admiring her friends plan that had clearly walked, she always loved to see (y/n) play around with guys brains-if they had any- it was truly a sight to see.
“You little rascal, he is fuming”
“Unfortunately you won’t be there for the finale tonight”
-
As the hours passed and (y/n) carefully slipped through the halls and the teachers guarding the castle to go and see her plan had brought her. As she approached him she could see his tense back, he was whispering to himself, his hands curling into fists and then released.
(y/n) hugged him from the back and got on her tip toes to give him a kiss. If that little incident had not happened he would have been the happiest man in the world right now.
“Hello darling”
“Since when are you so interested in Malfoy?”
Well, there goes his plan of casually slipping it in the conversation. He couldn’t hold his feelings any longer, he was hurt, almost betrayed, was she really interested in other guys? no, she couldn’t, he wouldn’t be able to handle it.
“What are you talking about?”
“(y/n) this is really not the time to play the aloof card, you never talk to him”
“How do you know who i do and don’t talk to Cedric?”
She was pushing it, she knew she was playing with fire and it  was extremely dangerous, but where’s the fun in being careful right?
“So you are just suddenly a good Samaritan and decided to help Draco with his homework?”
“I didn’t know you were able to hear from that far, that’s an actual skill”
“Stop it!”
He didn’t yell at her, he would never -he was secretly too scared- he just raised his voice enough to show he was being serious. (y/n) looked around to make sure no one was around, she didn’t want another “scandal” on her back, she turned back to him and smirked at the flustered Cedric
“Are you jealous?”
“Yes, yes I am”
“Why? Last time I checked I am not your girlfriend”
“Like you would say yes if I asked you, I’m not stupid (y/n)”
She laughed. There it was, finally he said what she was dreaming of hearing, those sweet little words of victory, her plan worked perfectly and she got a relationship out of it, just like she had planned.
“Are you laughing at me”
“Yes I am, but not for the reason you are thinking of”
He was just looking at her, utterly confused with the way she was behaving. (y/n) tried to contain herself and got closer to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and looking straight in those beautiful eyes.
“Did you really think I would go for a boy that’s younger than me? I just wanted you to admit your feelings for me”
He felt his whole body relax, his heartbeat going back to normal. Now it was his turn to wrap his arms around her waist and spin her around, (y/n) giggled and gave him a kiss on his soft warm lips.
“You little sneaky fox”
“I didn’t get into slytherin by accident love”

Not that this would ever happen, but I like rolling around the idea of fancasts in my head, so here’s some ideas for an Omori fancast (I used mostly anime VAs since they tend to do video games too). I’ll put a couple roles next to the names in case you don’t recognize them so you can look them up:
Main Cast
Sunny/Omori - I mean. This VA would get Persona levels of “no actual voice lines”, since neither of these characters speak until the last 5% of the game, but still… I saw someone suggest Kyle McCarley (Hyde Kido from UNIB, Shinji from Fate/stay night, Narancia from JJBA: Golden Wind) for this, and even if I weren’t a huge fan of Kyle, I still would choose him for this. It’s actually a really good fit. (Of course, this video contains an… interesting alternate suggestion.)
Aubrey - Cassandra Lee (Taiga Aisaka from Toradora!, Kyubey from Madoka Magica). Again, this is a bit of personal bias since she’s one of my favorite VAs, but she can do both the “cute little girl” voice (for Headspace Aubrey) and the “abrasive” voice (for the real Aubrey), so I think this works out really well.
Kel - Two VAs for this one. I think in real life, Kel would be one of those boys who’s tiny and cute when he’s little, but grows up to have a surprisingly deep voice, so for Headspace Kel I went with Brittney Karbowski (Selim Bradley from FMAB, Black Star from Soul Eater) since I think she’s one of the few female VAs that can do an actually good impression of a little boy’s voice. (Maxey Whitehead (Alphonse Elric from FMAB) would also work.) For the real Kel, I would probably go with Austin Tindle (Karma Akabane from Assassination Classroom), since he sounds friendly (though Karma is really anything but).
Hero - This was the hardest one for me, because I feel like Hero’s voice needs to be just right. After a lot of deliberation, I settled on two - Johnny Yong Bosch (Yu Narukami from Persona 4) or Bryce Papenbrook (Shirou Emiya from Fate/stay night). I still don’t know if these are correct, so if you have a better idea, tell me.
Mari - Cristina Vee (Sakura Matou from Fate/stay night and countless others). This is one of those that I can’t really explain, only say that it fits in my head. Don’t you agree?
Basil - ...okay. I’m just going to say - I actually don’t like the “female VA plays young boy” trope. Yes, I know I did it for Kel above, but I used two actresses who I actually think can pull it off - I just don’t think most female VAs are good at it (not that they’re bad actors - it’s just that despite similar pitches, a young boy’s voice still sounds different from an adult woman’s). All that said… there’s no way I hear Basil with a male VA. Maybe one with an extremely high-pitched voice, but until someone can suggest one of those, I’ll go with Lindsay Seidel (Nagisa Shiota from Assassination Classroom). She’s among those few actresses I mentioned who can somewhat pull off the “young boy” voice. Of course, I also chose her because of the similarities between Nagisa and Basil - young man, looks like a girl (kinda), bad parents, seems shy but has a hidden dangerous side, etc. So yeah. (This explanation was unnecessarily long.) ...except several meme videos have also made me read Basil with the voice of Red Van Buskirk (Silver from Real-Time Fandub), which, despite being a joke idea, works scarily well.
Side Characters
Pluto - One of two actors. Either Christopher Sabat or Patrick Seitz, as they are the biggest hams the English-speaking VA community has to offer. (See: Vegeta and Dio.) Now that I’m thinking about it, Sung-Won Cho (a.k.a. ProZD) would be perfect too.
Space Boyfriend - Thanks to Osulan, I am unable to unhear SB as Chase Young (a.k.a. Mephiles from the Real-Time Fandub series). This is not a serious choice, but it’s the only one I have.
Sweetheart - Due to Sweetheart essentially being “Beatrice+Erika minus the nasty bits”, I really want to say Sayaka Ohara (the voice of Beatrice). But I did say English voice actors, so we’ll go with Mela Lee (Rachel Alucard from BlazBlue), mainly because Rachel and Sweetheart are both “elegant lady”-type characters.
Mr. Jawsum - Probably Patrick Seitz again. Yeah, actually I think this one works.
Slime Girls - I really don’t know about this one… Probably Monica Rial for Marina, Jamie Marchi for Molly, and Laura Bailey for Medusa. That sounds about right.
Humphrey - As a joke idea, Humphrey with the voice of Tom Kenny (Spongebob from… well) would be absolutely hilarious. (Imagine Spunch Bop saying “I fucking love air conditioning”.) Anyway, for a real idea, maybe Sonny Strait because Koro-sensei’s and Humphrey’s laughs are eerily similar. (Also, Sonny Strait is scarily good at changing his voice pitch. I would never recognize Krillin, Hughes, and Kyuzo as all being the same person.)
Hooligang - Unfortunately, I couldn’t really think of any except Todd Haberkorn (Ling from FMAB, Italy from Hetalia) for Mikhael, so if you have any ideas, add them.
I’m out of ideas. (Sorry, Polly.) Feel free to debate (politely) and add more.

Happy 30th Birthday Uchiyama Kouki-san!!! | 16.08.20
Like what I have done previously to some of my favorite seiyuus, I will use this chance to write about my top Kouki Uchiyama roles to celebrate his 30th birthday (OMG Ucchi is already 30!!)
#1: Gin - Hotarubi no Mori e
Tumblr media
I. AM. HURT.
I’m sorry. This is the first Ucchi role I ever saw in one of the most beautiful anime movie I’ve ever watched T-T From the same mangaka and anime staff behind Natsume Yuujinchou comes this lovely, beautiful, heartbreaking anime about a girl who encountered a “youkai” in the woods behind her uncle’s home. I love this so much and Ucchi as Gin is sooo good T-T He’s sooo softtt I love him so much I’m still crying every time I think of Gin and this anime and even looking at that gif hurts me so much aaaaaaaa *sobs* definitely my ultimate #1 favorite Ucchi role <3 (sorry if I’m being incomprehensible here)
#2: Yoshino Takigawa - Zetsuen no Tempest
Tumblr media
I LOVE THIS GUY!!! Another soft Ucchiii uwu OK yeah I don’t remember which Ucchi role I encountered first - Yoshino or Gin. But these two are definitely the characters that made me fall in love with Ucchi’s acting T-T I don’t remember much about Yoshino since it’s been so long since I last watched the anime (which I plan to watch again), but I do remember Yoshino being super sweet and I just love him?
#3: Toi Kuji - Sarazanmai
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the Ucchi we have come to know and love lately. Brooding. Anti-social. He’s got the looks. He’s got the voice. But once you’ve come to know him, you realize there’s more to this kid than your average stay-away-from-me-i-do-bad-things brooding bad boy. The emotional range Ucchi projected! So raw! Sarazanmai is a masterpiece imo. A hidden gem from the 2019 winter line-up. A beautiful story about human connections hidden behind an absurdity you can only find in anime. And that’s what made this show amazing. I love it.
#4: Kei Tsukishima - Haikyuu!!
Tumblr media
Tsukkiii <3 I love this snarky little shit lmao. That is all.
Lol jk, but well in all seriousness, I don’t really have much to say either? I love this guy. Yeah at times you just want to smack his head and stop being so salty all the time, but Tsukki has one of the best lines and scenes and I love that he’s more rational and smart and observant than our main combi. Also love his arc! Also! Seeing Ucchi in Haikyuu events is to die for!
#5: Hiroshi Kido - Barakamon
Tumblr media
lmaooo I recently re-watched the series and...I am in love. With the characters. The setting. The entire show. Hiro is a third-year high school kid, regarded as the oldest among the children. He is seen as a big brother by the little kids and as a little brother by Handa - who, despite that, still needs to be taken care of by Hiro lol. He is sweet and funny and I love him and he often acts as the comic relief. Love this anime <3
Now for some honorable mentions:
HM1: Roxas/Ventus - Kingdom Hearts
Tumblr media
My precious boy!!! I have never played KH undubbed, and I’ve only heard snippets of Ucchi’s Roxas/Ventus. Gotta say that he sounds so young, even in KH3 lol (though KH3′s Roxas sounds more like his recent self). Still, need to mention him here, right? :D
HM2: Natsuki Usami - Tsuritama
Tumblr media
I’ve only watched the anime recently and I love it. I love the story. I love the cast. Natsuki is that aloof, cool character. Not exactly brooding. He just doesn’t want his classmates to know that he’s the Fishing Prince lmao (a title he earned after winning some angling competitions). Another cool character Ucchi voiced alongside Miyu :3 Also, when they cut his hair short, he looks exactly like Tsukki lol
HM3: Yuuta Asaba - Kimi to Boku
Tumblr media
Didn’t find the gif of him alone, so yes, here is the insufferable twins from Kimi to Boku, Yuuki (left, voiced by Kimura Ryohei) and Yuuta (right). I love the twins. And I love Yuuta. The older of the twin who doesn’t talk much and only watch the scenes from the side, but he’s always there, and iirc, he’s always there to help if needed. If not, well he’s still there, observing his brother and their friends.
HM4: Takashi Sugiyama - Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru
Tumblr media
Another soft Ucchiii. Cute Ucchi. Dork Ucchi. I love Shindo!!! My second, or maybe third, favorite character after Ouji and Haiji (lmao I just realized this is another show with Ucchi, Tosshii and Miyu).
HM5: Neku Sakuraba - The World Ends with You
Tumblr media
Haven’t played the game yet but I’m still excited for the anime! Also, Ucchi’s voice in the trailer is *hhhh* so emotional. I love it!
So, once again, happy birthday to our most lovable dork, Ucchiiii <3 May you continue to bless us with your exceptional talent :3

the kisaragi sibs both end up needing glasses in the future. shintaro's reason? he's been doing nothing but stare at a monitor for years so his vision started worsening. momo's reason? idk i think she'd look cute in glasses so im headcanoning that she starts needing them when she gets older #ratio
the mekatrio got taken out of school at a young age and i don't think it was ever mentioned that kenjiro homeschooled them so i hc that they end up attending night classes once they got older to catch up on what they've missed out on
YAYYY KIDOMOMO WEDDING also tsubomi kisaragi... ive never thought of that.... that's so cute.... i hc the trio all change to tateyama but everyone keeps calling them kano kido and seto so i share that hc kinda HEHE i like it. kido to tateyama to kisaragi

Restaurant Agito, a neighborhood institution for over a decade--
No. Not eye-catching enough.
Once nothing more than a well-loved neighborhood institution, Restaurant Agito has been launched to new heights with the receipt of their first Michelin star--
No, not complimentary enough, it’s a nice restaurant.
Restaurant Agito_
Transcript first. The introduction will come to me once I’m looking at the whole thing.
[New: blank document]
[Open: agitointerview.mp3]
Notes to myself: Tsugami Shouichi--friendly, big smile. Intense eye contact, felt like I was staring at the sun. Wears a lapel pin with the restaurant’s little alpha-omega logo, it’s cute. Maybe not the most handsome guy but wow what a smile, hopefully he’s making some girl very happy. Or guy, who knows, it’s 2015. Insisted on bringing out a tasting plate of some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes to snack on while we talked. We sat in the restaurant, mid-afternoon, not a lot of customers. Sous chef was handling things in the kitchen.
Begin transcript.

Kido Shinji: I hope you don’t mind if I, uh, if I record?
Tsugami Shouichi: Oh, no, not at all! I wouldn’t expect you to just remember everything, right? I mean I guess you could write it down but that seems like it’d be difficult.
KS: It’s definitely not easy, that’s for sure.
*laughter*
KS: So, uh, if you don’t mind, let’s start with the basics, just so I can have them on record. I’m Kido Shinji--
TS: It’s great to meet you!
KS: Um, likewise, thanks.
Note: strong handshake, damn, I think my hand actually aches still
TS: And I’m Tsugami Shouichi.
KS: Right, wonderful--it’s spelled like--
TS: Yeah, that looks right. Although I’m not exactly the best person to ask, my spelling’s terrible.
KS: Mine too, honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without spell-check.
*more laughter*
KS: So you’re the proprietor of Restaurant Agito, correct?
TS: That’s me! Owner, head chef, uh, I actually grow most of the vegetables myself, I do a lot of stuff here.
KS: Oh wow, you have a vegetable garden?
TS: Up on the roof! I can show you after we’re done talking if you like.
KS: That’d be great, I’d love to take a few photos if you don’t mind.
TS: Oh sure! Oh, ask anyone who knows me, I love showing off my garden, it’s my pride and joy. I mean, apart from the restaurant. I had a garden before I had a restaurant, I’ve been doing that longer. Although I guess you’re not here to talk about gardening really--
KS: No no, it’s fine, I like hearing about this sort of thing, it’s, um, human interest. Everyone’s into eating local these days, right?
TS: Right!
KS: So, uh. You’ve got a Michelin-starred restaurant at--you’re 35, right? I think you mentioned that on the phone.
TS: Yeah, 35, that’s right.
KS: That’s pretty impressive, that kind of success at 35.
TS: I mean I don’t know that it’s that impressive, I’ve just, I’ve worked really hard, yeah? I don’t like to brag.
KS: No, of course not, that’s what I’m here for. I’m going to brag for you.
TS: Well, when you put it like that--here, try some of this, this is the squash quiche, it’s one of my specialties.
KS: I bet it’s from squash you grow yourself?
TS: Of course!
KS: I’m almost expecting you to say you keep the chickens too.
TS: Oh, no, uh, birds make me nervous, I went to a farm once and a rooster sort of landed on my shoulder and crowed in my ear the whole time, it was bad. Seriously, though, try a bite, please.
Note: fucking spectacular quiche, holy shit
*chewing noises*
KS: Oh wow. That is. Amazing. That might be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
TS: You’re making me blush.
KS: No, really, this is really really good. I could just keep eating only I don’t want to keep you, so we should--we should get back to the interview. So you’ve got a Michelin-starred restaurant at 35. When did you open it?
TS: Um, when I was 21, 22 maybe? Right out of culinary school. Well, not right out, there was a, uh, a gap, I wasn’t doing much of anything for a while.
KS: Illness?
TS: Sort of. I mean, you’re probably not going to believe this, but I had amnesia?
KS: Oh my god.
TS: Yeah, I was in a boating accident--you remember the Akatsuki-gou?
KS: Do I remember--that was the biggest news story going when I was fresh out of college, of course I remember that. You were on the Akatsuki-gou?
TS: Yeah, I was on there, and there was the, the incident, and I was pretty badly injured and lost my memory for a while. But once I got better I opened the restaurant.
KS: Wow, I’m even more impressed now.
Note: pull up some of the news stories about the Akatsuki-gou. Add some extra interest there, that’s a lot. There was some hero cop who saved everyone on there, maybe I could look him up for another article, do a retrospective.
KS: Um, what made you want to open a restaurant? After all that happened?
TS: I mean, I guess it was to honor my sister? She was the one who put me through culinary school, and she, uh, she died. Not long before the accident.
KS: Oh my god, I’m so sorry to hear that. Was she unwell?
TS: Not really? I mean. Uh. She killed herself. I’d rather not talk about it.
KS: Of, of course not, I’m so sorry. That’ll, I’ll leave that out of the article, of course.
TS: Thanks, I’d appreciate that. Anyway, uh, I mean, she died, and then I was in this accident, and kind of a lot of stuff happened, but when I’d gotten my memory back I ran into an old professor of mine from culinary school and I had money from, um, my inheritance? He’d tried running the restaurant but decided he wanted to go back to teaching, and I had the money to buy it from him. So I bought it, and, um, redecorated it and gave it the new name and everything and there you go. Restaurant Agito.
KS: That’s amazing.
TS: Thanks!
KS: Actually I’ve been meaning to ask about the name, what does Agito mean? Is it, um, is it a family name, or something personal, or--I feel like I’ve heard the word before.
TS: Oh. Oh, uh. Have you? *nervous laughter, not sure why* It’s sort of, it’s just sort of...it’s got. A personal meaning--are you all right?
KS: I’m fine, I’m fine, sorry, just--just a headache. Anyway, Agito. I remember that word, there was something years ago...did it have to do with...mirrors? I feel like I remember mirrors...
TS: Mirrors? No, nothing like that--are you sure you’re ok?
KS: I’m fine. Sorry. A personal meaning?
TS: Well, it’d be really hard to explain. It was...it’s from something a couple of friends and I did together, we had sort of a club.
Note: I think he’s hiding something here. He looked really nervous, and I’m not sure why. Need to look into that word. Agito. I’m sure I’ve heard it before.
KS: Really? A club? What did you guys do?
TS: Oh it’s--it’s complicated.
KS: I--I’m sorry, who’s that who just came in?
TS: Oh, that’s Tezuka, he’s a regular, he runs sort of a fortune-telling business near here. Nice guy. Why?
KS: I...feel like I recognize him.
TS: Well, he does get everywhere, sometimes he just sets up on the street in the weirdest places to tell fortunes. Maybe you’ve seen him before.
KS: I’m sure that’s it, yeah. So, uh, it’s always just been you? No, no business partners or co-owners or anything?
TS: Yeah, just me. Well, and Mana, she’s an old friend, she helped me out a lot when I was having those memory problems? She works here now, you met her when you came in. And there’s another old friend, Ryou, he was in that club I mentioned, he does deliveries for us sometimes when he’s in the area. But he travels a lot.
KS: He does--what? I’m sorry, could you repeat that last part? I’ve got this...ringing...in my ears, I missed the last bit.
TS: Oh, just. My friend Ryou delivers for us occasionally. He’s a great guy. *rustling* You know what, I’m going to get you a glass of water.
KS: That’s really not necess--actually, you know what, I’d appreciate a glass of water, thank you.
TS: No problem! Um, Mana, could you--
*woman’s voice in background, not loud enough to be understandable*
TS: Thanks, Mana! Look, Mr. Kido--
KS: You...you can call me Shinji, that’s fine.
TS: Ok, Shinji, are you sure you’re all right? You’re not, uh...feeling things?
KS: Feeling things? What do you mean?
Note: What a strange way of putting it. Am I feeling things. There’s definitely something going on with that guy.
TS: Oh, you know, uh, other people’s thoughts. Or like...moving stuff with your mind?
KS: No, why would I--I’m not sure what you mean, I--
*startled noise*
TS: Oh, oh, what’s wrong?
KS: I--nothing. There’s a, a mirror over there, I just saw my reflection, it startled me.
TS: It, uh, it was definitely your regular face you saw, right?
KS: No, I, uh, I’m just, not a big fan of mirrors.
TS: Oh! Then that’s, that’s all right.
*clinking glass*
KS: Thank you.
TS: Thanks so much, Mana! Anyway, uh, never mind that, forget I said any of that. But...also, if you keep getting headaches--actually, just. You should come by here to eat whenever you like, I think. If you need to talk about stuff.
KS: Um. Thanks? I’m sorry, I’ve got aspirin in my jacket, I just need this ringing to stop--you’re sure Agito doesn’t have anything to do with mirrors?
TS: Definitely sure.
*sound of someone drinking water*
Note: not sure what got into me here. My reflection startled me really badly, I guess. I don’t think “Agito” actually has anything to do with mirrors, but when I think back 14 years or so I just think, “mirrors,” not sure why, and with all that talk about the Akatsuki-gou it brought that up.
--
I should cover that mirror on the wall over there. It keeps reflecting the light from the window into my eyes.
--
KS: So, uh. On to the menu! We’ve got this amazing tasting plate, I’d love to write a bit about the food you make here.
TS: Right, yeah! So you had some of the quiche, and then this here is a vegetarian lasagna that I’ve really perfected over the past few years--
--
[Pause agitointerview.mp3]
Head hurts again. It’s probably the glare. Definitely need to cover that mirror. Wish that ringing sound would stop.
Tsugami seems like a nice guy. Wonder what he and his friends were up to that he’s so afraid to talk about.
Restaurant Agito is a well-loved neighborhood institution, entirely free of the world within the mirrors--
The world within the mirrors? What the hell?

Top Five Main Character List
#5 Gatomon
Tumblr media
Idk man, if I’ve got any sort of Buttons in good characters it’s ones who defect to the Good Guys, and Gatomon filled that role pretty nicely. (also oh man am I excited for 02 for reasons that may or may not be related to this) Not only is there the whole thing about introducing a new character (or pair of characters!) into the group, therefore having a fresh pair of eyes on the situation and new inter-character interactions; there’s something fantastic about a character who gets to show both antagonist and protagonist shades to them.
Unfortunately, Gatomon didn’t really have time for much development after this all went down - she went from being a cool and interesting villain, to the star of an arc, to yet another Digimon in the pile of protagonists. Just another symptom of the large cast, I guess, but it was still disappointing. Even her voice acting was better as a villain - she had this kinda silky, purring inflection to it that she kinda lost as a main character.
Still, though, kitty cute :3
#4 Tentomon
Tumblr media
Alright so I may or may not be cribbing off my favourite Digimon list for this buuuut
and also to be fair the Digimon who make this list might be some of my favourites because they were the best characters in the show but ANYWAY
Tentomon! I mean, come on, he’s an electric ladybug who’s also some kind of robotic insect thing??? He’s the perfect foil to Izzy, he gets some of the best lines that are just stupid jokes but they’re so dumb they’re hilarious, he’s got an interesting voice that seems to be somewhere between a stereotypical “insect voice” and a goofy robot but also without being artificially synthesised, Medabots style (which is also cool, but it’s neat that they didn’t for Tentomon, I think).
Also, his VA Jeff Nimoy was on the writing team for the dub, which is neat but also he’s one of the ones to blame for the Everything about the dub.
#3 Joe Kido
Tumblr media
Man, I never expected to empathise with this dude as much as I ended up doing in this rewatch, but hey! Dude’s got a good head on his shoulders, he’s got that Anxiety Relatable Feels, he’s a nervous wreck and he’s also got a surprising amount of great lines. I never appreciated him as a kid, but as an adult... hoo boy. Also his partner is a little seal man and that’s just :3
I’ve come to the conclusion that, if I were to go to the Digital World myself like these kids did, I’d react somewhere between Joe and Mimi. Nooo nothing’s clean enough and I’m tired and hungry and shouldn’t we at least have some cover while we sleep in case we’re attacked and it’s too hot here and we’re all gonna die and and and...
And then I’m booted off the island.
#2 Mimi Tachikawa
Tumblr media
Oh hey, speaking of which!
Despite the dub team’s tendency to give her the most shallow, stereotypical lines in the show, Mimi’s fantastic. She’s kind of a boss-ass bitch and I can’t help but respect that, and also pink cowboy aesthetic??? YES PLEASE.
There was also that phase I went through as a kid where I rejected traditional femininity, and being a Sora fan over Mimi was definitely part of that. Nowadays I don’t really have any strong feelings about Sora one way or another, but I’ve really grown to like Mimi. Is this just me over-correcting from my kid views? Who knows! She’s got a pink cowboy hat!
#1 Palmon
Tumblr media
SHE’S A LITTLE FLOWER LADY AND SHE’S PRECIOUS.
Her voice acting was some of my favourite in the series so far, having little voice cracks and just generally being so full of character. She’s an amazing foil to Mimi, not only in occasionally challenging her views and ideals but going along with them at the same time, when they’re not actively harmful. And then that one time when they were. Plus her in that little dress that one time! And wearing Mimi’s hat??? Truly the fashion icon we need in these trying times.
Honourable Mentions
Tumblr media
Gabumon and Matt Ishida - They were pretty cool, I liked their whole Friendship thing (especially the Inspiring Crest Emotion being inspired by the Digimon partner and not one of the other kids for once!) but I couldn’t really get behind their reasoning for attacking Tai and going off on their own.
Tumblr media
Gomamon - his face goes :3 and that makes me go :3
Tumblr media
TK Takaishi - For a little kid, he sure steps the fuck up when nobody else will, huh? There’s something endearing and naive about the youngest one, knowing the least about the situation and the world at large, adapting the best because he’s just not as experienced in the Real World as the other kids, so he’s got less of a frame of reference to place it in. Actually, this all applies to Kari Kamiya as well.
Dishonourable Mentions
Hoo boy, this is gonna be controversial.
Tumblr media
Tai Kamiya.
I don’t hate the guy, really. I’ve got his Funko Pop* and everything! But he’s got that Anime Protagonist Syndrome down pat, including centering his own problems over all others, taking the lead when nobody really asked him to, and being kind of a dick. I’ve definitely touched on that before, but come on, Tai, punching is not the solution to all your problems. At least he (sometimes) learns his lesson about it, like with the Skullgreymon thing.
I’ve really got nothing against Agumon either, I like his voice acting as well. But he just wasn’t as interesting to me as the others were, or as much as some of his expies in the future will be.
Hint. Hint.
*I’ve also got Spyro and Sparx, Gay Batman, and Tiabeanie in a wedding dress :)

BEFORE READING, I NEED YOU TO BE AWARE OF THIS:
1. the whole story belongs to Gege Akutami and the credits go to them and them only.
2. the spell curses used belong to Tite Kubo due to them being the ‘Kidos’ being used on the manga and anime ‘Bleach’ - but none is mentioned in this chapter.
2.5 for the ‘cursed spells’/kidos (bleach) i will link this video here and tell you the time stamp to check out what i am intending to show - remember i add a few twist here and there by adding the katana to link with Y/N’s cursed technique
no cursed spells used this episode..

Tumblr media
“HUH?!”
Suddenly, you heard something dropped onto the floor causing you to look in the direction where the sound came from, only to discover your friend with her classic pink backpack, the one you saw when she came to Tokyo for the first time, and a hot pink suitcase by her side leading you to look at her with a very confused look on your face since Kugisaki was acting like you all were going somewhere for vacation when in reality the Kyoto Exchange Event was today.
“Why are you all empty-handed?” Kugisaki questioned in shock, as she began to observe you and Fushiguro as well as the second-years that were with you right now.
“What are you doing with all that luggage?” Panda asked as he pointed at his lower classmen with his paw while the look of confusion was also displayed on his face.
“What do you mean? We’re going to Kyoto, right? For the exchange event with our sister school in Kyoto,” Kugisaki queried, leading your eyes to move down to notice a Kyoto’s guide book in front of her feet to which caused you to steadily feel bad since you didn’t realise the reason your conversations with her were turning into Kyoto questionnaires lately was that Kugisaki was expecting to go to the Kyoto instead of being held here in Tokyo.
“I thought you told her, Fushiguro,” you mentioned as you turned to look at the shikigami sorcerer leading him to turn his head to look at you before shrugging his shoulders in response.
‘You drag, maybe be more informative to other people…’
“It’s an exchange event with our sister school in Kyoto, held in Tokyo,” Panda informed Kugisaki, as he cutely held a sign up saying “Ueno Specialty” with his name printed largely at the centre.
“NO WAY!” Kugisaki yelled out in rage, as her hands gripped her hair in frustration while beginning to rant about the effort she had put into preparing for the ‘trip’ that turned out to be a false assumption for her.
“No wonder our conversations have been a bit off lately,” Zenin stated, as she continued to observe the first-year’s fit of rage leading Fushiguro to agree with her since it seemed like he had some conversation with her mentioning Kyoto as well.
“You too?” you asked your senior classmate leading Zenin to look at you while giving a nod as her response.
“Salmon,” Inumaki stated, as he turned around and gave you another nod to indicate that he was also a person that was involved with these conversations.
“It’s held at the school that won in the previous year,” Panda casually mentioned, causing your friend to grab onto his fur like it was a jacket he was wearing while angrily shouting at him as she was still completely disheartened at the fact that she wasn’t going to Kyoto at all.
“Then don’t go winning, you idiots!” Kugisaki yelled out, which caused you to internally giggle at the sight since it was quite a funny scene that was going on right in front of you.
“We weren’t in it last year, only Yuta participated to make the numbers match up!” Panda retaliated since he wasn’t ready to become a victim of Kugisaki’s wrath, especially after seeing her raging determination and yelling during the past months of training that you all had together.
“That was prior to freeing Rika. Apparently, it was an overwhelming win, I didn’t see it though, since it was held in Kyoto,” Zenin informed everyone, leading you to turn to give her a slightly perplexed look before instantly remembering a conversation that you had with your annoying teacher.
‘You should meet Yuta one day, you both would really make a cute couple you know, Y/N~”
‘You know you told me he’s a distant relative of yours and I’m related to you by a false document, that is already strange enough, so no thank you Gojo-sensei…’
“I WON’T FORGIVE YOU, OKKOTSU YUTA! NOT THAT I’VE EVER EVEN MET YOU!” Kugisaki suddenly screamed with rage as the now rolled up magazine guide acted as a megaphone, as if her heated message could even reach the sorcerer that was somewhere abroad right now.
“That’s misdirected anger,” Panda said with a mutter as he waved his paw.
“Salmon,” Inumaki stated after his classmate. However, that wasn’t bothering you right now..what was bothering you was the new multitude of footsteps you were hearing from the stone steps that were beside you and it seemed like Zenin also heard them as well, as she turned her head towards the direction of them.
“Hey, they’re here,” Zenin announced, leading you to look off to the side to ignore the new arrivals since Gojo already informed you about them slightly yesterday after you, Fushiguro and Kugisaki arrived back at Jujutsu Tech after getting your deserved bubble tea.
“Oh, look. It’s everyone from Tyoko together,” a female voice stated, leading you to instantly recognise that it was Zenin’s twin sister: Zenin Mai.
“You went out of your way to greet us? Disgusting,” Mai mentioned causing you to further zone out since you weren’t really bothered hearing everyone’s greets and was rather more interested in the gifted dark blue metal pole given to you by Gojo (no longer than a normal ruler) that you were holding in your hand right now, as you began to stare at the new weapon choice while aimlessly twirling it around your fingers.
“Okkotsu’s not here, but it seems like Gojo is,” Todo muttered in confusion as he rubbed the back of his head before realising that you were within the Tokyo crowd causing his excitement to fuel up since he was ready for a re-match.
“Shut up, Hurry up and hand over the cake box, and the yatsuhashi, kudzu noodles and buckwheat cookies, me and Gojo are hungry!” Kugisaki irked tone before curling her finger at them to mention the Kyoto students to pass the non-existent food gifts towards her.
“Salmon,” Inumaki stated once again, leading you to give up on what he was trying to suggest since he had said the same ingredient for some time.
“Who is that first-year? She’s scary,” another female voice question, causing your eyes to shift to the other group of students only to discover a short, blonde sorcerer looking at Kugisaki with someone of a nervous look on her face as she pulled her broom closer to her.
‘Wind type of cursed technique? Flying? Stereotypical for a witch in fairytale books…’
“Never mind Okkotsu being absent, isn’t having three first-years a major handicap?” a mechanical voice questioned in doubt, leading an irked mark to suddenly appear on your forehead to Fushiguro slyly noticed.
“A robot! It’s a robot!” Kugisaki mentioned in shock as she observed the sorcerer leading you to sign in annoyance since you wanted to get the introductions done and over with already - it was becoming a drag.
“Age is irrelevant to jujutsu sorcerers. Especially with Fushiguro-kun, he’s from the Zenin bloodline, but he’s more talented than the head of the clan,” the sorcerer in the middle informed his classmate causing Mai to tut in annoyance as she gave her fellow sorcerer an irritated expression.
“Something to say?” he then asked, as he tilted his head towards the Zenin twin, only for her to announce that there was nothing to be said.
“Besides, they also have a Gojo by their side that is a first-year,” the same male stated, leading your classmates to look at you to which caused them to realise that you weren’t paying attention at all since you were still playing around with the metal pole that you had since you met up with all of them - they didn’t ask about it, but they were curious on what it was since you also had your usual katana hanging horizontally behind your back.
“Now, now, please calm down, you two,” another female spoke, leading you to fully turn your head back at the crowd again to notice a familiar blue-haired girl you remember seeing that the meeting when Gojo and that higher-up met - well...when Gojo changed principle Yaga’s timetable to add in his little comments.
Suddenly, two claps unexpectedly were heard as they echos within the area everyone was in causing you to shift your eyes to the same stone staircase the Kyoto students came from, only for a woman wearing a tradition Miko to appear to which lead you to notice the large scar across her face to which caused you to curiously question what was the cause but you knew it was insensitive to ask.
“Okay, now. Let’s not fight amongst ourselves,” the teacher mentioned to her students before saying muttering, “my goodness, these children,” leading you to turn back to the weapon you had in your hand since you were still wondering when and how you were planning to use it during the event today. From what you could recall, Todo was a close-range type of fighter and at this point, you had to be as well since you had to prohibit yourself from using your curse technique that gave you the advantage since you were a long-range fighter.
“So, where’s that idiot?” the teacher asked, with a fed-up look on her face as you instantly noted that ‘that idiot’ meant your adoptive father - at this point, it was quite understandable and noticeable.
“Satoru’s late,” Panda quickly mentioned, like it was a common thing - to which it was since you remember him being late to a cafe day out that he planned himself because he wanted a ‘father and daughter moment together.
“As if that idiot would ever show up on time,” Maki quickly stated, causing you to internally laugh once again since it seemed that she was already annoyed by the mention of his name.
“No one said “idiot” referred to Gojo-sensei,” Fushiguro mentioned as if everyone needed to know or had no clue on who they were talking about at all.
However, there was another interruption due to the fact there was now a sound of something metal being wheeled behind you causing you to sign in annoyance once again, once you noticed whose cursed energy had just arrived into the scene right now.
“Sorry for the wait!” Gojo playfully mentioned as he continued to wheel the metal cart towards the group of students in front of him while making sure the pink figures didn’t fall from the top of it.
“Tsk, Gojo Satoru,” the other teacher uttered in annoyance, leading you to take a mental note that it seemed like she didn’t like him one single bit at all - to which wasn’t even a surprise, to be honest - while the student with the long straight blue hair, looked towards the strongest sorcerer like it was her admired idol.
“Hey, I see everyone’s together, I was on a business trip overseas, so I will now hand out souvenirs,” Gojo suddenly announced with a smile on his face, leading Panda to comment on how sudden all this was, from his entrance to his sudden gift giving manner.
“Sure it’s not jet lag?” Kugisaki commented as she gave off a displeased look, muttering her words in slight annoyance.
“Okay, everyone from Kyoto gets this protective charm from a particular tribe, none of you, Utahime,” Gojo teasingly stated before hanging out his gifts with the Kyoto students giving mixed reactions while raising his empty hands to the other staff member.
“I don’t need one!” Utahime shouted in anger towards the white-haired sorcerer.
“And for everyone from Tokyo, we have this!” Gojo twirled in delight as he raised his left leg up as if he was a professional ballerina, leading you to look at your adoptive father, in somewhat of a disappointed look on your face since it seemed a bit weird that he was acting like this - too overly excited.
“Overly excited adults are creepy,” Kugisaki irritatingly commented, leading you to nod at her statement in agreement, only for the metal case lid to suddenly slam open with a loud impact as the sound echoed throughout the whole nature location.
“HEY! OPP!”
“It’s your departed friend, Itadori Yuji-kun!” Gojo shouted in delight as he raises his arm as if he was presenting everyone the most famous statue in the world at this very moment in time.
However…
You, Fushiguro and Kugisaki give off the same expression of pure shock but with non-excitement, as you all groaned at the sudden appearance of your (well what you thought he was) departed friend that had died a few months ago.
“Ughhhhhh,” all of you managed to utter out, as your souls began to slowly drag themselves out of your bodies due to the pure bombshell that had just occurred, as all three of your attempted to piece all the lacking information together, only for all of you to give off a flat white face of just...confusion.
“HUH! Huh? Huh?!” Itadori shouted, before somewhat standing completely stone-frozen in his pose like he was actually a statue that Gojo was showcasing.
“Okay, everyone from Kyoto! This is Sukuna’s vessel, Itadori Yuji-kun!” Gojo introduced the new visitor as he turned the metal cart towards the Kyoto students. On the other hand, it seemed like the goofy teacher wanted to introduce you since he never got the chance to when you met with Kugisaki. “Also welcome, family expansion: Gojo Y/N, isn’t she a little cutie?” Gojo asked as he took the opportunity to pull your cheek in your completely still-shocked state since you couldn’t comprehend the fact that your classmate was alive and right in front of you.
‘Huh...I...When…..How…...Why….’
“Sukuna’s vessel?! What’s the meaning of this?” someone questioned in surprise leading you to immediately snap out of your trace as you smacked Gojo’s hand away from your cheek to notice the principal of the Kyoto school was standing behind itadori with principal Yaga next to him.
“Oh, Principal Gakuganji! Oh, thank goodness, I was worried you might just die from the shock,” Gojo jokingly mentioned, since he could immediately tell he had made the old man extremely vexed with his actions as the Kyoto principal’s eyes widen in a complete rage.
“You damn brat!” Gakuganji responded in intimidation, only for the white-haired sorcerer to giggle in front of the old man as he leaned forward to become eye-to-eye with the man with the wooden cane.
Unexpectedly, Kugisaki violently kicked the side of the metal container leading Itadori ti flint in fear as Fushiguro stood behind her.
“Hey,” the female sorcerer stated in annoyance.
“Uh, yes?” Itadori stuttered in fear as he lowered his stance.
“You got something to say?” Kugisaki asked in a low tone, leading you to look at her with a worried expression since her voice was quieter than normal which caused Itadori to be confused as well since he didn’t really have anything to comment on. Although, one thing that did surprise you and Fushiguro to be surprised at was the pending tears that were sitting in the corner of Kugisaki’s eye leading you to come to the conclusion that she was both annoyed and relieved at the fact that your classmate was alive and okay.
“I’m sorry for keeping quiet about being alive,” Itadori muttered in guilt as tears were also pending. However, you couldn’t help but emit a small smile on your face as you whacked the back of his head with the blue pole you had been holding on to which causing Itadori to be surprised as he turned to look at you, only to be greeted with the smile you had painted on your face.
“Welcome back, you drag,” you mentioned, before raising your hand to lightly flick his forehead leading Itadori to continue to look at you in shock before greeting you with a smile himself.
“I’m back, Gojo!” Itadori stated in glee.
                                              ꕥ
“The Tokyo-Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event will be held over two days. The first day is a group battle: The Wacky Cursed Spirit Exocism Race!” principal Yaga announced causing you to look at him to listen to what he had to say since you didn’t really want to get disqualified so quick into the game. “The rules are simple, the first time to exorcise the second-grade cursed spirit released in the designated area wins. Several third-grade and lower cursed spirits will be released into the designated area, as well. If the winner is not decided by sundown, the team that exorcises the most wins. There are absolutely no other rules,” Yaga explained, causing you to look over to Gojo to weirdly find him in a locked position as it seemed like he was struggling to get his superior to realise him from the painful hold.
“Of course, you’re welcome to sabotage the others, but remember, you’re all on the same side in the fight against the curses. The exchange even will allow you to learn about yourselves and your comrades through competition. Be certain not to kill other competitors or injure them beyond recovery, that’s it,” Yaga finally reminded everyone, as you heard a slight giggle from Utahime, who seemed to be enjoying Gojo’s pain at this current situation.
“Ah! Y/N, my daughter~, make sure not to get involved with any fights with the other sorcerer since it wouldn’t be fair at all as Tokyo now has more members,” Gojo mentioned to you in a struggle since he was still in the agonising hold that Yaga had placed him in, as the principal nodded at you in agreement to the strongest sorcerer since it was a smart decision that needed to be made to make the game fair.
“Oh okay, if that’s what you want, then I’m fine with it, also don’t ever call me your daughter again,” you answered in a monotone voice while giving your teacher and principal a thumbs-up leading both of the men to give you a smile as the Kyoto students and staff members give you a confused look.
“You’re all dismissed until the event commences at noon!” Yaga concluded, causing everyone to go to their designated conference rooms to do some last-minute planning before the Exchange Event begins.
                                              ꕥ
TOKYO SIDE MEETING:
“Excuse me...Depending on how you look at it, this could be considered very extreme bullying,” Itadori muttered, as he was on his knees while holding up a black funeral picture frame due to Kugisaki giving him this act as a punishment for keeping his status a secret to all of us.
“Shut up and stay that way for a while,” Kugisaki muttered in irritation as her back was facing towards him as she didn’t want the pink-haired sorcerer to see the little pout she had on right now.
“Now, now...you heard this explanation, cut him some slack,” Panda mentioned to his lower classmate with a gentle tone, yet Itadori was surprised at the fact the Panda was talking right now.
“The Panda talked!” Itadori stated in shock.
‘Well, he is a cursed doll after all…’
“Salmon, salmon,” Inumaki said as he was looking towards his classmate, while Itadori turned to look at him in pure confusion since he hadn’t had a single clue why his upperclassmen were saying a fish’s name.
“Inuamki-senpai is a cursed speech user. Cursed speech is a technique that amplifies the power and compulsion of words, he limits his vocabulary to keep others safe,” Fushiguro explained to his confused classmate to avoid any more questions, yet that didn’t seem to work.
“So if he told someone to go die, they’d actually die? That’s really powerful,” Itadori asked as he turned to look at Inumaki to which caused the cursed-speech user to look down at the vessel.
“It’s nothing that convenient, it’s all case by case, depending on their difference in strength. If he uses powerful words, he’s hit with a massive feedback, worst case, it could affect him. Limiting his vocabulary is a way for Toge to protect himself, as well,” Panda further informed Itadori since he wanted to make sure the young sorcerer knew the effects that Inumaki had to be curious about.
“Ahh, so how are you able to speak, Senpai? Are you some new breed of panda?” Itadori questioned since he was intrigued by what made Panda who he was. However, Kugisaki looked at her fellow sorcerer like he was the stupidest person in the room right now.
“Blabbing on about people’s techniques…” Kugisaki muttered under her breath to which Maki heard as she then commented that it was alright and there was no need to worry.
“It’s fine, Toge’s isn’t that kind of technique, anyway,” Maki mentioned as your upperclassmen began to walk towards the crouching boy with her arms across her chest. “Most importantly, Yuji, give me back Slaughter Demon. You borrowed it from Satoru, right?” Maki demanded, causing your eyes to widen as you then turned to your side looking away from the scene as you were laying down on the seated area of the room you were in right now.
‘Ah...wasn’t that weapon destroyed at the detention centre…..?’
Suddenly, there was a few seconds of silence before you could hear Itadori’s internal panic from where you were, even when you weren’t even looking at him.
“Gojo-sensei...has it…” Itadori fearfully muttered, causing your eyes to widen more on the excuse that he had suddenly come up with to avoid anything that could happen right now, leading Maki to cross her arms in annoyance as she called the strongest sorcerer a ‘blindfolded dumbass’ while Fushiguro just gave off an ‘I know what really happened to it look’ but didn’t have the guts to tell his senior what really happened.
“So, what’s the plan?” Maki questioned as she looked upon everyone right now in the room. “The group battle format is what we expected, but we have another member now. Do we change strategies? There’s not much time,” Maki explained, leading Inumaki to add a little comment of ‘bonito flakes’ since he knew the struggles that they were going to have now that Itadori had arrived unexpectedly.
“Well, that depends on Yuji, What can you do?” Panda asked as he tried to figure out a way to add Itadori into the team plan.
“Punch, kick…” Itadori listed out in a muttered tone, as he lifted his arm to physically emphasise mention the superhuman strength he had possession of.
“We have enough of that,” Panda nonchalantly answered, causing Itadori to give off a tearful look since he had no idea what role he would play for the event right now.
“What about replacing me with him when Todo comes?” you asked, as you sat up causing everyone to look at you as they waited for your suggestion. “Since we outnumber the Kyoto team and Gojo and Yaga told me not to fight anyone, why not replace me with Itadori when it comes to fighting with Todo? Sorry, I can’t be much help to you guys due to these restrictions,” you suggested with a hint of guilt since how you thought about it, there was technically no point of you being within the team for the group battles if you couldn’t battle with any of the other sorcerers due to the request of your superiors - the only ones you’ll trust.
“Gojo’s right, I don’t know what he’s been doing since he’s been dead, but if everyone from Tokyo and Kyoto fought him at once without cursed energy, Itadori would win,” Fushiguro confidently stated, causing the second-years to switch from looking at you and Fushiguro in complete surprise.
However, it seemed like Maki had an idea due to the confident smirk she had on her face, to which she quickly turned to look at you to mentally inform you that she had a plan.
‘Yep, she has an idea..’
                                               ꕥ
“Ah, sorry guys, Gojo-sensei is calling me, can I step out for a second?” you quickly asked as you raised your phone to reveal that the playful sorcerer was calling you, leading Maki to give you the nod of approval which caused you to quickly turn back and stand at the side between the darken alley where you saw Itadori, Kugisaki and Panda hiding earlier when they were talking about Maki.
Pressing on the answer button, you placed the phone on your ear to see what Gojo needed from you since it was quite rare for him to give you a sudden call without him texting you or asking you to meet him yourself.
“Y/N, are you there?” Gojo questioned, leading you to answer to him that you were before asking him what he needed since you needed him to cut quickly to the chase.
“Ah~ that’s so rude Y/N, no ‘hello’, no ‘how are you dad?’, no ‘watch me do well’” Gojo whined through the phone causing you to give off an annoying look since you didn’t have the time to deal with his idiotic antics.
“I’m hanging up on you,” you quickly threatened as you slowly moved the phone away from your ear, only for Gojo to frantically panic while telling you to hold still since he actually needed to inform you something extremely important at this moment in time.
“There’s someone working with either a curse user or curses at Jujutsu Tech,” Gojo mentioned in a serious tone leading your eyes to widen in pure shock since you didn’t expect this type of news to come to you so unexpectedly.
“A lot of them on a high level are popping up lately from that last report you have given me, the last one was from Nanami right?” you questioned, as you remembered Gojo giving you a document that stated there was a new special-grade curse present. A curse that was known down it’s patched face look, just like the time he explained to you back at the infirmary when you were healing him with Ieiri by your side.
“That’s right, they understand human speech, and they’ve formed a faction that’s operating with purpose. They might think they’re just working with a curse user, but...I want you to investigate the Kyoto students during this event if you can, I’ve already asked Utahime to handle it from then after this,” Gojo explained, causing you to sign through your nose since you began to slowly understand why your teacher asked you not to fight for the time being.
“Are you going to be okay?” you asked in a worried tone, leading Gojo to be surprised at the sudden and rare concern that you were expressing to him right now. “You don’t know how far they have planned, so you need to be on your feet as well, you know that right? Don’t do anything reckless,” you commented, before immediately hanging up the call since you didn’t want to hear any of his playful teasings since you knew he was the type that would point out your apprehensiveness.
‘What a drag...more work for me ha?’
Taking one deep breath, you walked out of your hiding position to instantly find Fushiguro walking past Itadori as he muttered something to the pink-haired boy.
“What do you mean ‘really’? You already got sent rolling around once!” Kugisaki stated in a ‘matter of fact’ tone before turning around to face the entrance of the woods where everyone needed to be stationed before the group battle started. “Overwhelm them! Let’s thoroughly trounce them! For Maki-san’s sake, too,” Kugisaki determinedly shouted as she jumped up with a fist in the air to further highlight her motivation to win the first day of the Sister School Exchange Event.
‘It was actually two times, but we don’t mention that at all’
“Don’t say stuff like that,” Maki muttered, as she was starting to feel embarrassed at the sudden attention she was getting.
“Pollack roe,” Inumaki mentioned as if to cheer on Kugisaki’s statement while being subtle about it.
“Yeah! For Maki-san’s sake, too!” Panda cheered, as a way to tease his classmate since he was enjoying this moment.
“Don’t say stuff like that,” Maki repeated in a more irritated tone since it was coming from Panda this time, leading you to admire the sight that was going on in front of you right now as you began to walk towards - after Itadori crouched on the ground while holding his shoulder - them to get ready for the match leading you to stand next to Fushiguro.
“Well, in that case, let’s win!” Itadori cheered enthusiastically as he was now set on winning this battle match. However, it seemed like that was slightly interrupted once he noticed he was falling forwards after something kicked him on the back, causing him to land face-first into the ground.
“What are you doing taking the lead?” Maki sternly asked as she had her leg raised leading everyone to look at the sight with nonchalant expressions since they didn’t want to be part of Maki’s violence.
“Ow!”

Ranking all the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
Go Go Power Rangers! I felt it was time for another 90’s throwback. Today I’m ranking all the Power Rangers from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Just about every 90’s kid was obsessed with this show. It was a phenomenon. It started out with the original five in its first season. As the show went on, we saw a number of replacements added to the cast.
As a child, I had my definite favorites based on my childhood memories. I later rewatched the series as an adult and my perspective on the characters really changed. This is my ranking based on what I observed as an adult looking back.
10. Kat Hillard (Pink Ranger)
Tumblr media
Kat had the unfortunate task of filling Kimberly’s shoes as the new Pink Ranger. She was doomed from the start. The writers introduced the character as a villain -- a fellow student under an evil spell to undo the Pink Ranger. It made us not like her from the very beginning. Kat eventually grew into her role, especially in the following seasons of Zeo and Turbo. But initially, she felt like an imposter who literally did not fit the suit.
9. Aisha Campbell (Yellow Ranger)
Tumblr media
I liked Aisha as a kid. I liked her sassy attitude and that she was girly and short. After watching the show again as an adult, I realized how completely useless she was as a ranger. She had no fighting ability whatsoever, couldn’t do any flips, and didn’t offer any brain power either. I actually felt embarrassed watching her fight scenes.
8. Rocky DeSantos (Red Ranger)
Tumblr media
I think Rocky got a raw deal as the new Red Ranger. Many viewers were used to seeing the Red Ranger as a leader. However, when Rocky was introduced, he was just another ranger on the side. I don’t think this was his fault as Jason had already been demoted as leader after Tommy became the White Ranger. As a kid, I liked Rocky. I didn’t mind him as an adult either. His taekwondo skills were actually better than Jason’s. He was faster, more agile, could kick higher, and do more flips. Unfortunately, as one of the replacement rangers, he was always in the background.
7. Jason Lee Scott (Red Ranger)
Tumblr media
Ranking Jason this low is gonna shock some die hard fans. As a kid, I absolutely loved Jason. He was one of my favorite rangers. I thought he was a great leader and strong fighter. He was the glue who got his team to work together. I especially preferred him as a leader over Tommy. But when I rewatched the show as an adult, I realized he really didn’t do anything! He had maybe two episodes about him. One was about him bench pressing a world record where he lifted weights the entire episode. That’s pretty much all he ever did. He lifted weights, punched bags, and occasionally taught a karate class or two. Essentially, he was there to flex his muscles and not much else. Even his sword, which I remembered being so cool, was pretty much useless. That was a big eye opener for me. I was also disappointed to see that his taekwondo skills weren’t as great as I remembered them. He was really slow, kinda clunky. Overall, Jason deserved better than what we was given.
6. Billy Cranston (Blue Ranger)
Tumblr media
As the resident brain, Billy managed to invent the team’s communicators, which were also teleportation devices, and a flying car. He often operated the computers at the Command Center along with Alpha-5. It’s fair to say he contributed significantly to the team. He was a weak fighter in the beginning, but somehow became a super ripped expert gymnast by the end of his run. The show never explained that, but it was never a realistic show anyway.
5. Adam Park (Black Ranger)
Tumblr media
I remember not liking Adam very much as a child. He was so quiet, shy, and often in the back as one of the replacement rangers. In my child mind that meant he was boring. However, as an adult, I realized how awesome he really was. First of all, he was way cute and I didn’t even see it before. He was smart and often operated the Command Center along with Billy (good ole Asian stereotyping). But mostly, he was an incredible fighter. His Shaolin kung fu style was a beauty to behold. His kicks, spins, and flips were so quick, effortless, and graceful. He had the best line in the movie: “I’m a frog,” which turned out to be the best zord as well. As the seasons went on (especially into Zeo and Turbo), he became much stronger, more confident, and a lot funnier too.
4. Zack Taylor (Black Ranger)
Tumblr media
Zack is seriously underrated. He had a great personality. He was the life of the party, a great dancer, and funny. He even created his own martial arts style called Hip Hop Kido. He especially shined in the second season as he incorporated his karate with dance moves and incredible acrobatics. In my opinion, he was a way better fighter than Jason. If he had been given the proper treatment, Zack would’ve been on the same level as Tommy. After Zack left the show, the cast wasn’t nearly as fun.
3. Trini Kwan (Yellow Ranger)
Tumblr media
Original Yellow Ranger Trini was the best. She was strong, brave, and intelligent. She had a spiritual side to her that was cool, calm, mature, and classy. She had natural leadership skills that were completely overlooked. I’d even say that when unmorphed, she was the true leader. She often stepped up and encouraged the other members no matter what situation they were in. She could understand Billy’s nerd talk and translated for the team. She also kicked serious butt. She became a big role model for many Asian American girls, as she was one of the first Asian American actresses with a visible role on television.
2. Tommy Oliver (Green & White Ranger)
Tumblr media
I loved Tommy as the Green Ranger. His karate took the show to the next level. He was super bad ass and totally convincing as a villain. That evil laugh was perfect. Even after becoming good, the writers found a way to keep him around. His weakening powers and ultimately losing his powers gave him a tragic appeal. His relationship with Kimberly was also super cute. He was an exciting fighter and a compelling character. But, I didn’t really like him as the White Ranger. Once he became the White Ranger and the new team leader, he became a lot less interesting. He no longer had a real story. His martial arts was always top notch, but compared to the Green Ranger, White Ranger Tommy was too perfect and a lot more boring. Separately, I would’ve ranked White Ranger Tommy after Adam, but Green Ranger Tommy was awesome. Like I said, he elevated the show.
1. Kimberly Hart (Pink Ranger)
Tumblr media
Kimberly was such a popular character. She was loved by girls who wanted to be like her, and by boys who had a crush on her. As an adult, I could easily see why and I was actually really surprised. She was hands down the star of the show. She had the most episodes dedicated to her out of all the rangers. Even when the episode wasn’t about her, she often saved the day with her bow and arrow. Seriously. She saves the team in almost every episode. Even though she wasn’t the strongest fighter unmorphed, her gymnastics skills were crazy impressive. Overall, she was the most valuable and consistent ranger on the team. Without her, they would’ve been toast.
Overall Thoughts
First of all, I couldn’t believe how poor quality the show was. They obviously reused the same footage over and over again. Even more unbelievable is how we all believed it as kids! But that cheesiness is now one of the best aspects of the show.
I was also surprised by how much the show favored certain characters over others. Kimberly had the most spotlight, followed by Billy. When Tommy showed up, it became all about him. Zack and Trini were tied for second to last place for air time. Jason was dead last. He was barely even in the show. It’s no wonder the three were unhappy and left the show when they did.
Rewatching the series also made me realize how much the movies glorified Tommy at the expense of the Pink Ranger. In the first film that meant Kimberly, who I mentioned in this list was an incredibly strong character. In the Turbo movie, they weakened Kat for Tommy to rescue her as well. That’s super disappointing as the show offered some really cool role models for young girls.
One thing I appreciated about the female rangers was how feminine they were. Kimberly was a fashion crazy mall rat, but she was never diminished for it. It just happened to be her personality. It was never a weakness. None of the girls were expected to act like boys in order to be strong. Later in Zeo and Turbo, Tanya was more tomboyish. She naturally excelled at sports and that was really cool too.
Overall, I was impressed by how much stunts these young actors did. The putty scenes were my favorite. We got to see the real actors (not costumed stunt doubles) do all their own stunts. They were all talented martial artists of various styles and masterful gymnasts. As the show progressed, so did the choreography. I can understand why the actors complained about not being paid enough.
Today, most of the newer Power Rangers shows don’t do their own stunts like the originals did. They’re a lot more flashier as well with explosions going off in every episode. Even though the budget is higher and the actors have more rights now, it doesn’t beat the nit and grit or the talent of the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.

@magicast asked: kagepro muses + meta about their pov on halloween
send me a topic to write a meta about my muse on
I’ve mentioned it briefly but Kido doesn’t like Halloween. For both simple and complex reasons. The simple first: She just doesn’t like horror related things, and while there’s plenty of ‘not scary’ things with halloween aswell, she just overall likes to avoid it for the sake of not getting scared (though she’ll never admit she was scared to begin with she has some pride).
The more complex reason is that she has literally been called a ghost most of her life - and hates it. She’s literally been a ghost and considered nothing ever since she gained her eye ability. So anything having to do with ghosts, halloween, scaring people, isn’t up her alley.
Seto is a bit indifferent to halloween. He was bullied a lot as a child and Halloween just gave the bullies new ways to scare and bully him. And they could more easily get away with it because of the holiday. He’s past that now, but still has some memories that don’t sit well with him.
He’ll easily dress up if his friends want to and is more than willing to be the one to stay home and pass out candy to children and make sure they have a better halloween than he ever had at their age - but overall he’s just kind of meh about it. He’s also working that day most of the time so he doesn’t get to enjoy it too much regardless.
Kano is a little shit and absolutely loves halloween and loves scaring people. He does specifically go after Kido for a bit on this holiday, which earns him more punches than usual from her but most of the time it’s worth it. Other than that he just likes to amp up his little shit act and go after anyone who is within scaring distance.
Though deep down he doesn’t care too much for the dressing up part. It’s cute to have matching costumes with the rest of the mekakushi dan but in the end his ability is to literally change how he looks to people so he doesn’t see to much enjoyment in doing what he does every other day of the year - of course he’ll play it off like he loves it though.
Konoha has no fucking idea what halloween is. He just knows candy is involved and he’ll eat like 20 bags of candy in one day just try and stop him.
