Soooooooooooo did Fig make a deal with the yogurt demon that was haunting her dad and making her dad's life super shitty, and did she like... accept the bad luck yogurt curse or something?
Cause all of a sudden he's engaged to the woman of his dreams, winning things and getting cruises and wearing ironed clothes and 'being kissed by lady Fortune'? And Fig... has acid reflux from lemon yogurt, is randomly stepping in buckets of wet cement, lost all of her money, is failing school and has potentially lost her career as a rockstar???
It kinda seems like Fig took her Dad's bad luck via some sort of lemon yogurt demon deal?

With the potential of Gorgug returning to Aguefort Adventuring Academy post-graduation as a Barbificer teacher, it is absolutely possible that Gilear, Aguefort, and Gorgug spend more time together and both Gilear and Aguefort absolutely think of Gorgug as their best friend

Who's your favorite fantasy high mom?
sandralynn tbh. Ik that's such an obvious answer but really no one is doing it like her like she's just soooo S tier to me one of my favorite d20 NPCs of all time honestly. the milfs of the world of spyre number so much higher than you think, esp if you include the seven as a campaign. I also love Danielle Barkstock's lesbian moms

I don’t think we talk enough about the time Riz asked Gilear “Speaking of boning down have you seen my mother lately?”

Fantasy High: Junior Year predictions that aren’t as much based in things I think will logically happen, but ones that either should happen or would be very fun/funny
Loose Duke reminiscent perception checks from Lou, constantly looking for Chungledown Bim.
Related, the return of Chungledown Bim, but they successfully escape him yet again.
Either a wedding between Hallariel and Gilear, or them having a kid. I just think Fig and Fabian would make great older siblings but also that they’d have a real hard time handling it.
Garthy O’Brien is at Mordred and it’s immediately clear that there’s something poly happening between them and Jawbone and Sandra Lynn.
Riz has some serious beef with another young licensed PI. This beef is mostly shown through Riz hissing at someone on the street, and they don’t meet this other person until episode 15. They’re pretty normal and the beef does not make sense.
A reveal that Porter is not evil or plotting something but that he was a member of Sandra Lynn’s adventuring party that she got kicked out of. Bonus if he was a deciding vote or the one who pushed her to leave. This would be fun to justify Fig’s paranoia a bit, but her reasoning was completely wrong. The best way for this reveal to happen would be for him to apologize (sincerely) to Sandra Lynn.
Adaine actually tries to include Alewyn in a lot of things, and they actually learn some important lore from Alewyn and she doesn’t put it forward in a condescending way.
Gorgug rolls up to Riz’s office, drags him out, and they go throw rocks at the river (like Riz wanted in Boys’ Night).
Another crab party live stream. That’s actually how the season opens. Kristen is crowned Crab King.
Someone suggests they go to a Drisden party. The boys scream “no” at the proposal.
Kristen succeeds in her first ever divine intervention roll (#BeardsleyBlessed)
Aguefort says something to Gorgug in the first episode about how difficult he finds him.
Gorgug changes his subclass. We had a lot of subclass changes at the end of fhsy and I think him focusing on artificing a bit more may cause him to refocus and not be as lost in rage as berserker works. The I’m going into a worry helps me think this lol
they start at level 11, there were talks of them double leveling post nightmare king forest but that wasn’t what happened with the one shots (which logistically makes a lot of sense to me). I also just think Adaine should get 6th level spells.
And finally, Brennan homebrews the spell Ice Feast, but only Adaine can cast it.

**spoilers for latest episode of junior year**
alright so kalina saying "it's the only name i can say" when talking about ragh barkrock immediately paints the picture that kalina entered the spy's tongue curse with some co-conspirators and that ragh barkrock could theoretically lead the bad kids to figuring out who they are without naming them directly. also, kalina saying it immediately after the mall incident implies these co-conspirators have something to do with the dead god, which would explain why it would be on cassandra's mind as well when kristin communed with her.
so who are these co-conspirators? we know its not lydia because kalina was able to mention her by name back in sophomore year, and even if that was retconned, lydia was able to say kalina's name a couple episodes ago and the curse goes both ways. this is interesting because that leaves a lot less options for who kalina could be referring to, since there aren't a lot of options for people simultaneously associated with ragh barkrock, kalina, and with the dead god.
with a lack of any other information, i'm immediately suspicious of jace and porter.
it was stated in sophomore year that ragh saw jace in the room with kalina and arianwen during the whole nightmare king fiasco, and also that after the prompocalyse fight jace got porter to heal ragh with "barbarian healing" which then infected him with kalina. this to me implies that kalina, after talking to jace and/or porter, conspired to intentionally get ragh infected. (side note: this is interesting because to my knowledge this is the only instance of kalina deliberately infecting someone rather than it being incidental, which implies that kalina had some sort of plan for ragh).
so how could either of them be sus:
porter of course is the running joke of being sus, but as someone who is possibly part goliath AKA giant, while simultaneously being a barbarian who harnesses rage and a paladin with an oath to his ancestors, it makes sense that a possible god he worships would be a giant god of rage. honestly though itd be incredibly funny if after 3 seasons of being sus there yet again isn't anything wrong with him
jace has less evidence considering we know even less about him, but he is in a place of scrutiny seeing as he's been specifically made vice principal in the absence of gilear. and as a sorcerer, one possible subclass is divine soul, which makes it very possible for jace to derive his power from the divine source of a rage god. plus, the last name stardiamond can definitely be associated with the 21 point rage stars that the god has. AND, most importantly i think, yolanda badgood specifically went to jace stardiamond with her concerns over lucy frostblade and NOT principal grix, and then later ended up dead, which is a very suspicious series of events.
it still feels like we don't have enough information, but ultimately im curious about 1. why kalina would specifically enter a spy's tongue curse when she hasn't really done that with her other conspirators and 2. what she may have wanted with ragh barkrock

I keep seeing a lot of people talking about how they want Jawbone to kill Bobby Dawn, or how it be satisfying to watch Jawbone, Gorthalax, and/or Gilear just beat him to a pulp. And that’s fine I guess.
But I really want to see Sandra Lynn destroy him. She’s a trained and skilled ranger! Let her turn him into fucking swiss cheese, or have Baxter fucking maul him!
Like, why do we always expect men to get revenge for things that happened to the women they care about instead of the women it actually happened to?
Idk, I just think she deserves it.

This season of Fantasy High seems to be dealing a lot with perception. The Bad Kids are perceived negatively by the Rat Grinders for some reason or another, and they seem hellbent on vindicating that. Adaine is being perceived as someone in a position of financial comfort that shouldn't be struggling to fund her own wizard classes and thus shouldn't need help where up until this last episode she really did. Riz's conversation with his mom seems to be about his perception amongst his friends; how it doesn't sit right with her that they call him "The Ball" and take advantage of his desire to succeed so much that he will often help them get work done... "Riz is the only person who can take stress tokens for someone else." Fabian is being perceived as the "Maximum Legend", party house extraordinaire and Owlbears star who is coasting along without any worries; when in actuality he is deeply lonely in his mansion by himself day in and day out, struggling to meet his needs, and clearly missing his father and fearful of what his mother's relationship with Gilear is going to mean for him.
Gorgug is literally being forced to fight against Porter because of how the man sees him; demanding for so long that he be allowed to pursue what makes him happy, but being countered by someone who perceives him a certain way, who thinks they know what's best for him. Fig... Fig is going through an entire identity crisis. Her perception of herself is in shambles and she seems to be hitting roadblocks just like Gorgug in how she wants to be seen and what she wants to try versus what the adults in her life think she should try. And then there's Kristen. Kristen is fucking going through it. In large part she's being treated the way she is because so many people seem to see her as flippant with her faith because Cassandra is her latest god in a line of many; and it feels like her self-perception is also struggling to be defined.
Baron was destined to come back this season somehow, someway, as Brennan has explained in Adventuring Party -- and Baron's whole thing is literally mirrors. The surfaces we use to perceive ourselves.
Gods can be altered due to how they are perceived. Bakur seems to outright address this; asking if Adaine was talking about Sol himself corrupting Ankarna, or his followers. Gods are bureaucratic, Gods can be standoffish to those they share domains with-- and followers, it seems, can change the course of a God's perception, can shape how they are remembered and corrupt them through denying what they are: like calling a Goddess of Conviction a Goddess of Conquest.
And if the responsibility for a God's perception can fall onto its followers? If you want to keep that God centered around rage, burning fires, horrible conquests? ...Then maybe that's why it's a bad look for one of your friends to go back out into the woods to resurrect rats after you've killed them. It can't be a conquest over helpless forest critters if someone is bringing them back, is holding to their personal convictions and showing them mercy.
Convictions don't have to be driven by greed or pride. Your convictions are your morals, are what defines you. And maybe whoever killed Lucy Frostblade didn't like what she stood for.

i was thinking about sandra lynn's type as it became a point of discussion (please don't include bobby dawn, ew.) when i realized a commonality
what do her two long term relationships we know of, gilear and jawbone have in common? stories! also just, talkative in general
even if gilear's monologues are awkwardly and hilariously recounting his misfortunes throughout the day he clearly is good at yapping, and jawbone is infamous for his countless wild tales about his life and his general conversation skills
i think she likes to just curl up and hear a partner ramble and get lost listening to them a little bit

An interesting tidbit from the finale was that Telemaine handed over temporary stewardship of Kei Lomenuera to Tracker and Wolfsong. Which was a fine enough reason for him to leave but it's made a thousand percent more interesting know that Tracker had a falling out with Nara.
Obviously we don't know if it was a messy break up or not, but I can imagine a good chunk of her followers might have left with Nara and her family's money. So here's Tracker: Down on resources and support, practically alone in a foreign country, with no friends from before her journey here to ground her and no where to go. Except for Kei Lomenuera.
A place she visted once a year ago, stewarded by her ex-girlfriend's best friend's grandfather. A strange old elf that must have a distaste for her movement and everything she stands for. But she has nowhere else to go, so she and whatever congregation she has left make the journey (through the snow she summoned. Dammit.) to the Lands of the Lomeneldas. Telemaine is there when they reach the edges of the land's boundaries. Tall and solemn. Eternal and seemingly unchanging. Tracker asks for refuge, if even for a couple nights.
He looks upon her, a firece young human, who has looked ancient elves like him in the eye and told them they're wrong about Gallicaea. An upstart, a revolutionary. Nothing but trouble. But he also sees a young girl, almost out of her teens but not yet. All alone. Surrounded not by friends but by people who expect her to lead.
Opening his arms wide, he invites Tracker and her congregation into Kei Lomenuera for however long they need its protection. He grants them a few acres a bit away from the main settlement, for their own privacy and machinations, but invites them to make use of his facilities and join him for meals when they'd like.
In turn, Tracker helps Telemaine with a lot of hands on earthy stuff (helping fell trees for firewood, repairing broken odds and ends, keeping unwanted creatures away from Kei's borders). She even joins him for dinner and finds that underneath all of his flowery speech and slow, winding trains of throught, he's quite a fountain of knowledge and philosophy. Hardly any of the ancient elves of Fallinel have given her the time of day, so she's kept her distance as well. But talking with Telemaine is suprisingly reinvigorating.
It's still a shock when he announces that he'll be leaving Kei Lomenuera for a time with Hallariel and Gilear and that he's letting her and her connections steward it for the time being. Tracker stutters. She knows he's never left, that Kei Lomenuera has never been under anyone else's care before. And Telemaine can only smile and recite what she taught him. That change is inevitable and beautiful and in the very nature of the Moon Goddess he's worshiped for millennia. He will be back like the moon always is, but he can think of no one better to take care of his pride and joy.
Weeks later, when Tracker visits Elmville, she makes sure to stop by Seacaster Manor to say hi and give Telemaine an update on how Kei Lomenuera is. And Telemaine greets her with the same warmth and love that he greets Fabian while everybody else is trying to figure out when and how Telemaine got a granddaughter.

Fantasy High Gravity Falls au:
Opens with riz and fig sitting next to each other upstairs listening to their parents argue: namely, gilear and sandra lynn are arguing with each other, and gorthalax and sklonda are trying to mediate
The cause of the argument is, of course, the revelation that fig is not gilear’s biological daughter with the growing in of her horns
Gorthalax, not having known that fig was his biologically, now wants to be a part of his daughter’s life: riz and sklonda are there because he’s dating sklonda
This is the first time riz and fig have met. It’s super awkward! Very wow i can’t believe im meeting this girl because her mom cheated on her dad. Wow i cant believe im meeting this guy because my mom cheated on my dad with his moms boyfriend
Anyways, sklonda and gorthalax are like, “clearly you and gilear need some time and space to figure things out, and the kids really shouldn’t have to deal with this. Why don’t we send them away for the summer?”
“Where?”
Gorthalax: “well, i grew up in this lovely town called Gravity Falls. I have a friend there—”
“Friend?”
“Well, I’m not exactly sure what else to call him. Friend is about as accurate a description that I can apply. Ex-boss?”
“Fair. But we’re really going to send the kids to stay with him?”
“It’ll be a good learning experience!”
Anyways riz and fig get sent to Gravity Falls to live with one Arthur Aguefort who runs the Mystery Shack
For some reason despite never having been affiliated with a school in any capacity, he insists they call him Principal Aguefort. He’s the most unhelpful adult either riz or fig have met in their entire lives, but he provides them with rooms and food, so that’s chill. They can entertain themselves anyways.
Gorgug, Adaine, Kristen, and Fabian are all Gravity Falls residents. Gorgug and Adaine work at the mystery shack part time, Fabian’s this weird rich kid who hangs around with them for no apparent reason, kristen is way too casual about the cult that she escaped from and constantly talks about how she and adaine live in the woods with a pack of werewolves
There’s a werewolf episode where they actually meet said werewolves: enter tracker and jawbone
Anyways, fig and riz get to know each other over the course of the summer and grow close with the other gravity falls kids as they get into fun and delightful adventures
Riz finds a journal at some point early in the summer with a feather burned into the cover, and uses this to guide all his friends in their adventures
At some point, they meet adaine’s sister who still lives with their parents after she reluctantly comes to adaine and her friends for help exorcising their mansion. It turns out it’s a trap to try to kidnap adaine back home. Adaine lets (read: commands) the ghosts haunting her old family home to kill her dad. The van with hands chases their mom into the woods. No one is particularly sad about either of these events. Aelwyn is going to take over this mansion and fill it with the cats she always wanted but could never have. Adaine, kristen, and their werewolf adoptive family move in. there are MANY sleepovers.
At some point there’s an episode where the kids find out that Fabian is part mermaid when his pirate mermaid family comes to visit
At some point there’s an episode about ghosts and the afterlife where riz gets to say hi to his dad briefly
As the summer progresses, fig grows more comfortable with her demon heritage. Sklonda, Gorthalax, Gilear, and Sklonda visit to check in on their kids on weekends when they can, and fig delights in getting to know her bio dad and repairing her relationship with gilear, and she basically adopts sklonda as a second mom, and she’s really excited to have riz as a brother, plus they’ve made all these really cool friends that she can keep in touch with now.
Riz, on the other hand, can’t stop thinking about what’s going to happen when the summer ends. He’s gotten attached to Fig as a sister, and when the summer ends and her parents sort out their problems is that going to mean that they’re going to go back to how they were before? He doesn’t want to leave his new friends behind, he doesn’t want to go back to the way his life was before, he doesn’t want to lose any of this
Theres an episode where the kids track down gorgugs parents
It’s either about how his bio parents had their memories of gorgug wiped and the bad kids tracking them down and solving that mystery
Or is just completely normal.
“Hey gorgug do you want to find your bio parents?”
“Huh. sounds fun. sure!”
There’s an episode where the kids find arthur’s stash of fake identities.
“Who the fuck is Barthur Baguefort?”
“It’s Arthur wearing sunglasses.”
There’s an episode where the bad kids encounter and probably kill kristen’s former cult
None of the kids are particularly close to Arthur. They don’t really care about the secrets he’s hiding.
At some point, riz is trying to solve some conspiracy or the other, and this is when kalina first appears to him
At some point, the kids wake up to find arthur’s left his secret basement door room open when the kids are having a sleepover. They go in as the portal is opening, and out steps the author of the journals: ayda aguefort.
She’s been traversing the multiverse after an argument with her dad got her thrown in there during one of her research projects. Traversing the multiverse was kind of chill, actually, she’s got a hunger for knowledge and boy did she learn a lot on her adventures
She joins the bad kids on their adventures, and fig is of course delighted to have another friend (and maybe more!)
The time the kids have left before summer ends grows shorter and shorter.
Kalina appears to fig. She makes her an offer, she wants to make a deal. Fig could be gilears biological daughter, if she wants. She could have parents who never cheated on each other, she could go back to her happy idyllic childhood.
Fig does not take the deal. The entire summer for her was finding the silver lining, was learning how to repair relationships and move forwards. If her heritage never came to light, she never would have grown her family basically three times as large
So kalina goes to riz. And riz is so, so desperate. All he wants in the world is a guarantee that people won’t leave him. And kalina? Delivers.
So riz is thrown into a bubble dimension with his devoted partner created to fulfill his deal in the most monkeys paw of situations: enter baron from the baronies
The thing kalina gets out of this deal is for the Nightmare King to be let into their realm, bringing the apocalypse into gravity falls one weekend when riz and figs parents are visiting
The bad kids now have to save riz and defeat the nightmare king. Power of friendship time!
Pooling together collective knowledge from everyone’s adventures: the parents, who used to live in gravity falls, ayda, whos been traversing dimensions, the bad kids, who’ve been messing about with random stuff all summer, they piece together the nightmare king’s story
Kristen’s old cult is plot relevant now! It turns out that they were a doomsday cult and hundreds of years ago, sacrificed the being known as the nightmare king in an attempt to bring about the end of times. They thought it didn’t work, but they’re probably delighted that it’s finally happening
Kristen had escaped the cult because she was being set up to be the sacrifice for apocalypse attempt part 2. This makes her uniquely suited to extend a hand.
“Oh, dude, I totally get what you’re going through. But like, me and my friends completely wiped out those guys-like, killed—”
“Killed? What have you kids been up to? I knew we shouldn’t have trusted aguefort with children—”
“So it’s chill now! And like, bringing about the apocalypse is only going to give them what they want, so maybe don’t do that. I get it though, like I’ve been exactly where you are. Like, exactly. Crazy how the world works, right? Anyways, my name’s Kristen. What’s yours?”
Enter cassandra!
The summer wraps up. The question remains: where do they go from here?
Sandra lynn and gilear have decided that separating is the best option for them. And over their visits, sandra lynns gotten to know jawbone and there’s definitely something there…
I think it’s kind of bittersweet. Sandra lynn and fig move in with jawbone, and sklonda and riz and gorthalax go back to their old place. Summer doesn’t last forever, as much as anyone might want it to, but you don’t need to go back to how you were before. Gorthalax visits fig all the time, and when he can, riz joins, and when sklonda can, she comes along as well. She’s got friends in gravity falls too. Maybe it’s about learning to trust that people will put in the effort to keep up with each other when it gets more difficult. Maybe it’s about the family you find along the way, and the ways you’ll always keep them. Maybe life doesn’t work out how you thought. Maybe reality sets in, overtaking the summer haze. Maybe it’s better. Who knows?
Where did kalina go? What was her whole deal? I have no idea.

People keep talking about Fantasy High Senior Year and what it might be. Here's my hot take. I don't think we need or should have a Senior Year. The bad kids are at the ends of their arcs, they don't have anywhere to go, really. Everything that's been set up has payed off. There's nothing to do in Senior Year.
Fabian is living up to his father's legacy and is an amazing sword fighter and is living up to his mother's by being a bard, plus he's accepted Gilear as his step dad. Whats his arc for season four? Having younger siblings? That's not a strong enough foundation for a season arc.
What about Fig? She's found love, she's found something she REALLY enjoys doing in life and a fulfilling existence, to the point where she doesn't even want to go to Agueforth anymore and Emily has expressed a ton of interest in retiring the character.
Riz's arc is all about learning to let go and to let himself drift away from the rest of the party, and he's done that by now. He's realized that always trying to be the best is not good for him via seeing himself in Kipperlilly. He needs a break, not another season of hard adventuring.
Kristen is all about recruiting people to the church fo Cassandra. When they inevitably defeat Ankarna and she's restored, the two religions are very likely to merge. At that point she'll have converted Fig and she's well on her way to recruiting Bucky and maybe even Buddy by the end of the season, and she knows now that a church with only a few dedicated members is possible, and she's seen in Wolfsong that expanding it is not always for the best.
Adaine's arc was about breaking away and living independently from her parents, learning to be an adult. She's fully done that. She's employed as the Elven Oracle full time, she's reconnected with her sister, and she's found a new family to love. Forcing her to go through another season when she's already grown up makes no sense.
Finally, Gorgug. Gorgug's arc has been about learning how to handle his rage since the very beginning, season one episode one. He's done that. He is the first person in history to be able to concentrate on spells while raging. He's learned to harness his rage and turn it towards protection instead of harm, and he's recently made the connection with his parents even stronger.
None of the Bad Kids have anywhere to go. Even though they have futures, stories to tell, those stories aren't going to happen in high school, and they're probably not going to happen together. There is no world in which the Bad Kids need a senior year, and I suspect that the ending of Junior Year will see them all either quitting school, graduating early, or graduating normally and going to college in an epilogue. They'll stay friends for life, maybe. Or they'll grow apart because who you are in high school doesn't define you. But they'll all live fulfilling and joyous and happy lives, finally free and self actualized.

my favorite moments from episode 11 of fantasy high junior year!!:
“is that’s a problem”
“riz? do you need to go to the eye doctor????”
finally addressing all the angry npcs
“even you fabian”
the identity spell giving SQ meeting gnosis
“should we go start minor disturbances around school and see if we get beat up?”
adaine’s classic scooter
aelwyn and adaine being sisters!!!!!
“tell kristen not to come back, the children were very rowdy after she left”
fig invading ruben’s dreams as kelpflower corncob (rad as hell)
gertie x kristen!!!! (honeybees?? maybe)
devil’s honey is so fucking rad
“my friends no longer want to see me naked” “i do”
all the parents!!!!
telemaine’s elf racism was silly but also made me a lil upset (“was that supposed to be my name?” “no i was doing a different word”)
GILEAR!!!! MY CHOSEN ONE HAS RETURNED!!!!(“this may tickle you to watch my life become suddenly amazing against my will”)
fig and hallariel continue to bring me joy (“hey! it’s me! from the phone!”)
“how did she bring winter??” “how did she bring winter???” “how did she bring winter??”
“we really gotta talk up bee girl”
fig and sandra lynn’s conversation got to me truly (i need sklonda and sandra lynn to start a support group for mothers parenting children working for the applebees student presidential campaign mpcwaspc for short)
fabian and gorgug arguing over who’s carrying the gravestone and “the ball do you wanna-“ “too small”
princess nara (i love her im sorry she’s too real)
in fact all the kristen/nara/tracker energy was absolutely perfect for lesbian exes (“WORLDSTAR”)
ALL OF SECRET SYLVAN (i genuinely shed tears cried bc they all love each other so much)
things about adine: 1. blonde 2. wizard 3. elven oracle
riz/murph immediately taking charge and running secret sylvan is so deeply in character
(attempted tearing noises)
“stop showing hole and make ‘em!”
and as we all know the last 20 minutes were the most insane thing that’s ever happened to me but god fig watching the illusion of herself she conjured morph into her dad and get fucking impaled by the armor that he wore to save her from her own illusion not even a year ago is devastating.

hey does anyone wonder about fig . like . gilear up and left with hallariel on their trip and we don't know if he talked to fig about it or not . and given how they left it feels like if fabian hadn't arrived at that exact time then maybe they would've just. gone? with no real goodbye?
i guess i'm just thinking of season one again. i'm thinking of fig's life going upside down . i'm thinking of fig saying "The look on his face when my horns started coming in didn't look a lot like love." I'm thinking of her old song, "My Dad is a Demon But He's Also a Deadbeat."
i'm thinking of her curse right now and how this must be such a difficult time for her even Outside of said curse, because she feels lost and unsure and the person who could've understood even a fraction of her recent bad luck... just isn't there.
anyway. i'm thinking of fig.
