rip to those who dislike the thematic implications of the pre-fall scene but i’m built different because i think it’s even MORE compelling that aziraphale sees a fellow angel he looks up to, who he watched BUILD THE STARS become damned for eternity. like the fact that crowley ISN’T a random demon and aziraphale still CHOOSES to offer him kindness is such an important facet of his character re: his conflict between belief in God and belief in heaven that he’s going to reckon with in s3. and i daresay makes his kindness even MORE significant than if crowley was just some rando

like he sees someone made of the same stuff he is ask a question and get rejected by his side for having love of the material universe. he has the context and there’s a precedent for his unfaltering belief that crowley is a Good Person! YET HE STILL gives the flaming sword away for his own love of (the material) humanity and tells God TO HER FACE “oh yeah hm the sword… don’t know what happened to THAT… maybe it’s buried around here somewhere…” he’s so crazy. like dude you SAW pre-fall crowley loving the universe and questioning god and you MET him as a demon and you are so extremely aware of the ramifications literally in the closest proximity possible. and you still lie to God. for the same reason. he’s so insane honestly nobody’s doing it like him and the pre-fall scene was so necessary for his characterization both internal and external like. peace and love but how do you guys not see that the pre-fall scene is the only thing that fully contextualizes his choices at the end of s2
