Toon Zelda redesigns! I've never been fond of the Toon Zelda design, and these girls deserve some individuality. Design notes and rambles below the cut :D

(time to turn the proper grammar off i aint capitalizing all this. warning: i am verbose)

first up, tmc zelda!

shes the one most like toon zelda, since i felt like the vibes fit the *most* (though not a lot). also, with her place on the timeline, i could justify a lot of bits, like the wings and the cape

the cape! obvs it comes from the toon zelda base design, but also it involves skyloftian fashion! i take the timeline as a challenge, and i once saw a take somewhere that the skyloftians all wear their family crests (most often birds lol) on their person. zelda here (and link too) do just that, wearing their family crests on little caplets. on the back is, of course the royal crest

i went very cutesy princess for her. tmc has such a *whimsical* vibe that i feel is very. muted? by the fact its stuck with the toon style. so i wanted to put in that vibe here. also her sprites make it look like her skirt is super poofy, so how could i not?

curly hair: i wanted something interesting, and most zeldas have straight hair. so! adds to the cuteness

i didnt draw it so well but she (and link) both have very sleepy expressions. zelda especially just has a sleepy expression in her sprite, its quite adorable.

shes not as decked out as other princesses, cuz i see tmc taking place before the royal family really starts to get *royal* as we see it. shes still of course got a tiara and some embroidery tho.

Tetra! her base design isnt all that changed from the original. her name is a fun hc of mine tho. i think "von Hyrule" sounds better as a surname than just "hyrule". shes not zelda, but shes still a descendant.

I went more oot zelda vibes for her, since she would be closer, temporally, to oot. i also went very warm, since ive never seen the flood as a *warm* endeavor.

shes got the shoulder danglies, as most zeldas have shoulder armor of some kind. the danglies instead of actual armor are supposed to kind of evoke a royal sea captain kind of vibe.

shes ghostly, with a fish-eyed stare. shes been dead and gone for a long time. shes also a bit taller and a few years older than tetra (as of ww). shes just some spectre the king saw in tetra, not at all a close match

tetra, being smaller than princess z, doesnt fit into the clothes. the dress is too big for her (as is in canon gd that skirt is WAY too long for her), the coat is baggy. the role of a princess *literally* does not fit her.

the ribbons! theyre my replacement for the wings, and they represent the wind in the game! since its represented by white lines, the ribbons are a perfect symbolic match. (also, a note, tetras hair is shorter and coarser than princess z's)

i mostly bullshitted the blue panel but the vague idea i gave it was 'a hope for the triforce to give good fortunes to the people' (pictured as dots, mostly behind her arms)

Pirate Queen Tetra

ph! about a year has passed, and tetra has really grown into her own! as well as literally grown!

shes still tetra, pirate and captain, but shes incorporated that royal heritage into her identity: quite literally! she made piecemeal of the original outfit (what was left of it anyway after the fight), and added bits and pieces to her new life.

she also takes full advantage of said heritage to call herself pirate queen. its great for branding. whos gonna say she CANT go by pirate queen?

the seagull feather is from Aryll. only crew member tetra wears a trinket from (who can say no to that ball of sunshine! certainly not tetra)

not many notes. yall can see whats there. (also she still wears her hair in a bun, its just in a low bun (you can almost see it) when she wears her hat)

st zelda!

first note is: shes not a princess! shes an heiress of the company tetra had made and left behind. hence her title of Lady zelda. ("new hyrule" rly just like-- the ending of ww was *literally* that hyrule is dead and thats okay. how did they miss that :sob emoji:) also calling her Lady Zelda fits with the train vibes

shes in a 1880s style bustle dress because 1) i am OBSESSED with bustle dresses. i love them. so much. 2) the more historical vibe works really well with trains! also a lot of the other outfits in the game have late victorian vibes, so shes certainly not out of place.

her hat (and gloves): any proper lady has a hat on when going about town, however, when she gets body snatched, she pulled out her hatpin to use (ineffectively) as a weapon (she IS tetras great-great-granddaughter), causing her to lose her hat *and* hairdo.

shes still got the hatpin in her ghost form, too. she uses it to threaten people for funsies

Ribbons! on the topic of hairdo, her ribbons! visually tying her to tetras design, the ribbons here instead take on the image of train tracks, with her pin (on the left side) evoking a train engine. the pin also makes her look rich and girly. when her hair comes undone, this makes the ribbons all loose, like how the train tracks disappear in game. (the hat also kinda connects her to tetra)

okay i TOTALLY agree with you have so many thoughts, i was literally just thinking the same thing last night!!! The absolute difference in upbringing as far as the demons really shows in how they act and i have sooooo so many thoughts about it!!!

So first off, i dont really know how old mouse is in terms of her lore but as far as BBH is concerned hes fucking weird and is constantly alluding to his existence extended FAR before the universe even existed, hell even time and space, we dont actually know what the fuck his deal in full is actually!!! What we do know is he was summoned to Earth roughly eleven to fourteen thousand years ago!

Mouse gives us not as much age-wise from what ive heard but she has expressed that she considers two thousand year olds to be "baby" not quite baby but like VERY young! (I have a personal HC that bad's summoning let loose a new age of demons, maybe not all at once but very quickly so mouse would probably be over ten thousand years old)

Tina gives us absolutely NOTHING she doesnt like talking about her demon ancestry aside from hiding it (when bagi said mouse taught her how to smell demons tina quickly panicked and doused herself in perfume, etc etc. nothing super explicit from what ive seen but im relatively new to her lore). But i personally have a hc that shes roughly three thousand years old, coming into existence around the Middle Ages in 1000 CE. That might seem extremely young but honestly thats what im going for for her!!! super extremely young!!! and born around the time when Catholicism was popular!

In my mind, they all have very much different reasons for acting the way they do and im soooooo ill about it

As a BBH main i have the most information on him so ill be talking about the lore i know from him first before getting into the other two lovely ladies!! So what we've heard from BBH is that he prefers to "hide" his demonic features and "blend in" with humans as much as possible if he can, obviously he doesnt do very good at this but hes old as shit and very powerful so like who's gonna tell him??? From what we've heard of his lore, Bad is the cause of a LOT of minor and major disasters in history; Mt Vesuvius (who he named after a dead lover) exploding, the plague taking out most of europe (which he was a plague doctor for), and alongside other major things theres some minor events as well! Small wars he's been present in such as the HG war he was in with cellbit very recently, various other wars he eluded to that he recalled "blended together" because there were so many, that time he went to medical school for 15 minutes just to do brain surgery on that president on a boat.... he also knows a lot of major historical figures and hes been EVERYWHERE, we actually have a rough timeline of where he's been and when just based on who he knows. He knew not only the fucking guy who created the study of viruses, HIS ASS KNOWS ISAAC NEWTON..... and i think once he alluded to knowing goddamn adam and eve, maybe even being the snake in the goddamn garden. Considering its cannon to his lore that he was the angel locked beneath the euphrates river i wouldnt be surprised at that point.

All this to say: Bad has been present for and had an active hand in a LOT of major and minor disastrous historical events, and hes repeatedly talked about how people would chase him with torches and pitchforks - even referring to that activity as "therapy" and said thats the reason he doesnt believe in therapy, because it hurts and doesnt do anything for him except get him running.

Bad does not personally feel shame about his demonic features, he's used to hiding them (or at least intending to.... hes doing a bad job at it) for his own personal safety, because his role as >>>>A) a demon and B) the fucking ferryman of death<<<< brings him a LOT of negative attention. Negative attention that he's had to deal with ALONE for a majority of his existence, up until about fourteen thousand years ago.** (**A major event i feel caused a new era of Demons, we will talk about it more through the post)

Moving on to Mouse; i mention bad's role as a demon having an affect on negative things around him because i honestly think that applies to all or most demons. I don't know much about mouse's lore, but i do know shes proud of her heritage to some degree, is unashamed to tell people shes a demon, and will even actively teach people things about her species (Bringing back Bagi again - We know in cannon Demons smell like Sulfur, its been stated pomme and dapper and bad and mouse and tina all smell like it, and we can assume empanada also does or is starting to).

I, to some degree, think the beginning of her existence was much more accepting and inviting, while bad dealt with his negative experiences alone, and tina had her own upbringing we'll get into, Mouse came into existence during a "Dark" age, when bad was summoned to earth there was a wave of the newest generation of demons being spawned into this world(not in a "father of all demons" way but more in a "large expressions of magic often lead to a ripple affect of more magic" way). A lot of shit probably happened, im not insane like badboyhalo im not gonna research what happened but theres probably some kinda major event that happened. Demons born around that era probably had some kind of support system or way of existing that was underground enough for them to not be wiped out, but they had enough freedoms that mouse and others probably felt comfortable enough to express demonic traits.

I like to think this was the era of her life that had the most influence over her existence, that she was created with pride and will ALWAYS have that pride in her species, it may be dampened but it will never go away fully!*

*I like to think shes experienced maybe some shame over her species when it comes to minor historical events that shes contributed to by just being present, but it very rarely lasts longer than the event itself.

Tina, as far as im concerned, is the youngest of the demon trio aside from their kids. I kinda write her akin to Amethyst from SU, her existence was very recent and she was alone with very little or no initial support system, she was brought up thinking she was "wrong" in some way, her teeth and nails were too sharp, and she has horns and sometimes her skin has a purpleish hue to it that make other people think theres something wrong with her. She has a VERY obviously christian/catholic upbringing which was brought to light recently in one of her conversations with foolish. She's always felt shame about her species and she probably would have continued if it wasnt for mouse and bad, but ESPECIALLY if it wasnt for Empanada.

I have my own thoughts on the demon babies that we'll get into later, but after gaining her daughter who is very much going to be a demon (two demon parents, obvious demon child lol) i cant help but wonder how tina's planning on pushing aside her feelings of shame to make Empanada feel welcomed and loved regardless of her species?

Tina's very young, of course shes seen some major events in history but shes never been raised in community, she probably didnt even know thats just something that comes with the horns until very recently! I can imagine bad and mouse joking and giggling about that town that they stayed the night in that caught fire the next day that they got chased out of a couple hundred years ago, and i can imagine tina being confused as to why they found that amusing, is that normal? Tina's always had minor disasters follow her, her home town very likely burned down or got sick following or preceding a major milestone in her life, and thats probably continued to happen over the thousands of years shes been alive! Being a demon brought up in a very anti-demon environment, whos to say she even knew there were other demons out there really? She was a curse from god, she brought nothing but poor luck and sickness to her household (which i agree with you she was probably residing in an orphanage), she brought it everywhere she went. I cant help but ask myself "did she feel relief that it wasnt just her, or even more shame finding out this is a common occurrence for demons?"

Now thats most of what i have regarding the parents but i have a few notes on the demon kids. I think all the eggs have some sort of demonic features, obviously bads a huge influence on all of them and they care about him as their tia so i draw most of the babies with horns and tails of some kind, but i am particularly focusing on Dapper, Pomme and Empanada, the three demon babies whos actual official parents are the demons.

I dont have anything too specific for them, but i do believe they will grow up to have an attitude towards their species akin to how Mouse acts.

Unlike other demons or even their parents growing up, they have a support system and parents to explain to them things that will happen to them as they get older! They'll have someone to come back to, who will explain "Yes, that village got the plague because you walked through it and the sulfur you spread supernaturally brought illness and bad luck. No, its not your fault in particular. No, you shouldn't stop going into towns and villages, its the 21st century and if they cant stop the plague by now then they were gonna die anyway"

When they inevitably get shunned by humans for their species, they have someone to come back to to let them know that that wasnt right, but its a part of what happens to people like us. Maybe some day we wont have to experience that anymore, but right now the most important thing is to not get caught, and come home to your Mama so we can give you bandaids for your knees and treat your wounds.

I'm so very invested in how the demon babies will be brought up by their parents, i hope we get more demon lore in the future </3

Im taking this as a chance to finally ramble abt her anyways so Janet's core inspo when designing her was to avoid 2 key things. Don't make her like Immortal & Th Restless's Clara (due to clara representing michael, not mrs afton, so i wanted to avoid that), and don't base her too heavily off of Ballora. I still have ties to Ballora's character (a music-based theme, blue-centric colour palette, im sure there were more basic ideas but everything else is more hc than themes to keep up) due to my hc thingy of each Funtime having ties to William's wife + kids, but yknow.

But yeah. Funky lady who played bass guitar + did backup vocals in a band during her high school and college years. Literally her and William dating can be summed up by "Seriously, what do you see in that guy?!" "He makes me laugh." bc she was and is WAY out of his goddamn league. Not just bc of the whole serial killer thing he was just an even bigger loser in college. Normal people dont develop a crush on a woman after she nearly breaks your nose and makes you bleed, William /j

But yeah uhh. I also dont like the idea of her being absent or neglectful purely because I got way too attached to her (i was originally gonna do that just to make things easy for myself but. Ive seen people say that one of fnaf's charms is that no character is 100% good and i LOVE that, and wanted to keep it up with Janet. Good mom and overall a good person, however made some bad decisions along the way and whatnot.

Im still working out specifics (ive been slowly working on a lil private fic abt her and william meeting + their early relationship) but uhhh. Minor notes that dont get their own paragraphs is that William sampled her voice for Ballora so yay easy voice claim, she had an on and off relationship with her band's lead singer (her name's Bev), her birth name is actually Janice Schmidt but if you call her Janice she'll knock at least 2 of ur teeth out, she's a runaway teen and got adopted by this older couple bc her home life kinda sucked (idk specifics yet), and also girlie has an extensive criminal record of minor angsty teen type charges. Also teen Mike dying his hair and then 2020's Michael's hairstyle are both kinda references to Janet's hair because he wnated to look less like his father. Thats all ty. TW--- mentions of child abuse, self-harm, suicide and violence. if u know Nezha's mythology then you know what im talking about. even if you dont Be cautious reading this i will highlight the suicide andself harm stuff in red. the child abuse is all the first half of this post

most of the first part is based off of Nezha's mythology in investiture the gods, some are creative liberties.

Nezha is literally a neurodivergent kid who has been told to stop doing the things he does bc there're 'annoying', 'rude', or 'weird'. which... their not. he just does things differently because he's neurodivergent.

no one was ever nice about telling him to do things differently. or...'normally'. he was always told off in a negative sense. it was straight-up child abuse.

of course back then it wasnt seen as child abuse much, since neurodivergancy wasnt a thing they knew about nezha was just a troublesome child, a burden. and in nezhas eyes no matter how much he tried, no matter what he did he was never enough. he was convinced that he was a mistake and a dissapointment. born with so much potential only to be thwarted by his "troublesome nature"

this "troublesome nature" was just normal neurodivergent things. normal kid things. but no one ever considered that, the only one that did was his mom. she was nicer then the rest of his family. not the greatest of course but compared to the others she understood that he was a child.

i heard its implied somewhere his father wouldnt let him out of the house for the first seven years of his life. Nezha had to sneak out and his mother would call him back inside whenever his father came back home.

one day while outside he met a man with orange hair, bright like the sun in the sky. A man with kind eyes a soft voice. the complete opposite of his father. the man stayed in the village for a few days. he kept nezha company and for once. nezha felt...safe.

but he had to leave sooner or later. even so the man promised to come back (it was wukong on his journey for immortality, disguised as a human)

his father was very picky on the way things were done, Nezha sometimes did things differently or hell probably forgot often. because ynow....hes a kid. but often that wasnt enough. there were times his father was angry, very angry. and instead of being a fucking adult about it he let it out onto Nezhas shortcomings. screaming fits, throwing things. and Nezha had to stand still, 'take it like a man' despite being a literal child. until his father was done poking and prodding at every little 'flaw' Nezha had.

all he wanted was to make his family proud.

then the dragon thing happened.

he just wanted to play with his friends.

he just wanted to protect his friends.

he just wanted to be a kid

he just wanted to do the right thing.

in a last-ditch effort to keep any blame off of his family, to keep his village safe from the dragon's wrath he took a sword at twelve years old and killed himself. offering his dead body as compensation.

he was 12

he was a child.

the man with orange hair came back and asked about Nezha. he was too late.

when he was reincarnated into a lotus body those scars remained. Scars on his hands from grabbing onto the blade and making his hands bleed. scars on his chest from....yeah, he has one on his left arm, stretching across his upper to lower arm and a shorter one on his right upper arm. both were accidental. and one on his neck.

the ones on his neck and chest were not accidental.

im not going into detail but....yeah.

His lotus body...its not exactly fit for him.

Nezha began working in heaven after the whole.....trying to kill his father thing.

Context: his father destroyed a temple nezha's mother had built for nezhas soul to rest in so when nezha was reincarnated he wanted revenge.

Nezha did not have a good time working in heaven. he was 12 and...well lets just say the lotus body didnt exactly look. godlike. so over the course of a few years he use glamor and transformation magic to change his appearance. to not only look more godlike but older as well. that way people would respect him. no one would consdescend him. no one would have a reason to yell at him or poke and prod at his weaknesses.

his body doesnt grow. he's stuck the same way he was when he died.

its not a bad thing.

its really not.

he can be the child he was never allowed to be.

but he doesn't let himself be that.

he works and he works and he works.

desperate to earn respect.

desperate for people to no longer look down on him.

so he pretends to be an adult.

on one hand theres nothing really wrong with his older form, its the reason he has it thats the problem.

he stays in his older form most of the time bc...well come on. being a kid isnt always great.

despite the fact that he doesnt grow he is mature.

thousands of years of living will do that.

hes still a kid but he has many years of experience.

so being in his older form isnt a bad thing, it helps him do things that would be harder in his normal form.

like reaching tall places.

he was there when swk was punished. he didnt like any of it. at first he thought swk was just a troublesome demon but then...then he started seeing what was really going on.

it reminded him too much of his own experience.

he didnt like any of it. and when the burning of ffm happened he only pretended to join the fight. he even managed to face swk for a moment.

only for them to finally recognize each other. Swk knew this was the child from a home of thunder and lightning. Nezha knew this was the man of the sun with kind eyes.

Nezha was injured and swk told him to run and where to hide for the time being.

he hated every second of it and to this day it haunts his nightmares. all of it. ffm. the torture, the furnace. for the following 500 years he was under the mountain Nezha had nightmares about swk blaming him for not freeing him.

worst 500 years of his life.

and he already has so much on his shoulders that he is still learning how to handle.

after the journey they met up again. Nezha could barely stand to talk to him. the guilt clawing at his throat and thumping in his chest.

swk seemed cheery as ever though.

then swk mentioned the elephant in the room.

he saw nezha and how horrified he looked during...that.

for a moment nezha was silent. couldnt bear to meet his eyes.

then all the glamors and transformations fell.

every wall he'd built and fortified over the past thousand years crumbled and for once he finally let himself cry.

swk dropped whatever he was holding (poor teacup) and immediately held the poor suffering child in front of him.

that day Nezha spent the rest of the afternoon letting out everything he had been holding inside. so much for someone so young.

that was the day swk adopted nezha.

nezha didnt know he was adopted swk just started showing up to his temple more often.

when swk told nezha, nezha laughed thinking it was a joke, then he got a little angry. nezha thinks he can take care of himself. he can...but he's not exactly very good at self care. swk told him he doesnt wanna coddle nezha. just... be there when he really needs it. be that person that nezha can run to when everything becomes too much.

nezha cried again.

so. yeah.

thats nezha.

he hides who he truly is from celestial eyes. working endlessly to become the perfect image of a celestial god. doing everything he can to seem perfect and untouchable. strong and unbreakable.

Swk has a room in every home he owns thats set up for Nezha to rest in whenever he needs.

Nezha and swk's dynamic doesnt exactly change much like in the show. Nezha doesnt exactly like how much Swk acts like a goofball. he's less tolerant of it around other people. then goes to ffm with him ranting about how swk is a king, a high ranking individual with alot of power. he should act more like it.

all, while he's in his true form and sits on swk's shoulders.

all while he and swk sit beside a river and lets swk braid flowers into his hair and then eat fruit on a cliff as the sun sets for dinner.

then nezha falls asleep on swk's side and she carries him home and tucks him into bed.

FFM, is a safe haven for nezha when he needs it.

swk is a safe person. the only person who ever sees his true form.

when nezha was assigned to protect the samadhi fire he felt as if he finally had the respect he's been working towards.

he stopped visiting swk as often bc of his duties.

he still visited just. not as often as before.

even so, they are father and son. nothing can change that

i ALWAYS have liam thughts every day of my LIFE . they may not be esp collected bc i have many so i dont have specific ones ive planned to share BUT ill throw some of my thoughts on him in Bullet Point Form and may end up elaborating on a few in particular :) (lot of these may be more vague, and some r more just things ive had on my mind cus ive been planning stuff!!!!)

generally, i think liam stays in airys world for a while, yeah, but i think he gets the contestants out before 8 months. this is mostly bc of charlotte. BUT also, we know airy has been in this place for "at least a decade," but oscar ALSO says he was on the plane "at least a decade ago." so its unclear how long airy WAS there for (if we assume that one takes place in the 2010s, in 2020-its vague and im not sure if cheesys ever clarified- but no code by pearl jam came out in 1996, so if its 2010s, hes only been dead for a bit over ten years, and 2020 would mean somewhere between 1996-2010, and this ISNT accounting for how long he spent in the waiting room) but it seems? that it didnt take him. actually THAT long to figure out how to teleport people to and from the plane. it seems to have been one of the easier things he figured out! (aside from actually creating planets) and? airy was a trucker. he COULDVE had tech experience, and i think sometimes people overestimate how much exp liam would have with tech as a telemarketer, ill have to look that up, but like. hed DEF have more exp w computers, just based on profession, so id imagine at least INTERFACING would be easier. the point of this is that i dont think liam would take long to find out how to teleport people, esp not ten years. especially with as much nonstop effort he shows in the series (compared to airy, who was likely in no rush, though im sure rushing WOULD mess with the speed that liam would figure things out), i think hed figure it out way sooner than airy did, and thats not even TRULY accounting that airy couldve taken any amount of time to figure it out

continuing that, ive seen ppl say that the computer wouldnt be able to teleport him home, but if my theory that the kill command is actually just an offshoot of the code used to teleport people (which ive posted abt before, but to summarize, when characters die, their bodies remain, but when the kill command is used, their bodies disappear, as shown at the end of universe modulation) is correct, the computer isnt restricted just to the plane. i think the extent of its abilities are mostly reserved for the planets it makes, but i think it may have otehr functions outside of these (such as interdimensional internet access, apparently). the point of all of this is that i think hed be able to send everyone home eventually, and i think it actually makes SENSE for him to get home. i think being able to teleport himself back home would take way longer than teleporting the others, esp since he most likely has the base code for the others (and airy didnt seem to actually BE concerned w getting home. he was lonely, but i dont think it was home that he was concerned with), but i think hed get home eventually

on that note, ive also said before that my family hcs for him vary. i OFTEN depict him as a middle child mainly bc it gives him people whove been waiting for him to come back that arent just one coworker. BUT i do sometimes depict him as an only child . it depends on the day. BUT!!! i thnk no matter what, once he gets home, he stays with owen the first day/night back. i think hed move in w bryce and amelia and charlotte very genuinely, but i think this would happen after MANY months. maybe a year or so. he needs some time. i think in that time, he stays w owen, OR if im depicting him as a middle sibling i throw him w one or both of them

also i dont actually think they contradict canon. ik a lot of people sometimes see liam NOT going to family after getting home as an indicator that he has no close family but like. tbh i dont think it even mattered HOW close he was w any family. i think the moment he saw that he was presumed dead, any hope hed had that things would return to normal, if that even was on his mind, just disappeared. because he was Dead.there wasnt anything left because he disappeared, he died, and that was it. before he looks at the notes he just kind of. looks lost. because at that pt he doesnt HAVE an idea of what hes going to do. all hes thinking abt is that this is Fucked. and i dont think it had anything to do w being close to people, or having friends or family (though it does seem to be mildly implied that he WASNT close w that many people, but i dont think that rly has much to do w whether he has siblings. siblings arent always SUPER tight knit, tho i think they were all at least friends :) ). i think he just. didnt know what to DO because he doesnt have almost Anything to his existence anymore, he just existed one day then he didnt!!! and then after looking at the notes, he still was dead, but he could still do Something about the plane with whatever he had left, not in possesions, but of Himself

on the subject of how he responded to things, i think SO often about how he seems to respond to stress. thruout the series, he is shown responding to small AND major stressors, and ive dedicated my life to studying the minute details of Liam Behavior so that i can make sure i understand him As Much As Possible. and? he is soooo not loud. under any pressure, he just Stops doing things. like the end of ep 1 could be excused as shock, but there are SO many instances of him just sorta. Stopping, or at the very least Not speaking when stressed, just tuning things out (if hes not full on dissociating, but since hes also generally Quiet it CAN be hard to distinguish if he is or not, since sometimes he may just Not be talking. i still have yet to study him wrt this but i will eventually), theres even lighter examples of this, like him Not saying anything in ep 2 when everyones yelling at airy, or him passing by bryce in ep 13 and seeming to think that would work? he just. often responds to things by NOT responding to them. there are only a few instances where he deviates from this, such as in ep 2 when he yells at airy, in eps 10 and 13 when he yells at bryce, and the many many times he yells at airy thru eps 17 and 18. but what ties these all together is that what REALLY pushes him to go from quiet to loud is when people are Ignoring Vital Details. when they are Confidently sticking to smth thats Incorrect and WONT listen to him (which is a bit more subjective w bryce ofc, but its still Incorrect to him). i think this also can of course extend to morally incorrect, as shown in ep 18, but even then, i think the main catalyst for what he says there is desperacy. he isnt asking airy why owens on his computer because he doesnt know. liam can be reckless throughout one (which is HEAVILY influenced by stress), but hes not stupid. he KNOWS why owen was there. i think THAT was just. denial? a need to know why? i dont know what specifically the emotion is, but at that pt, airy is acting FAR beyond what liam can reason him to not do. and? liam DOESNT say anything when he tries to kill airy. liam yells when people are being illogical, or not listening. because he WANTS them to listen. but airy wont listen to him. ive said it before but ill say it 2 billion times more that liam trying to kill airy was NEVER abt anger. really? he was acting how he acts when STRESSED. when hes NERVOUS . he historically Stops talking when hes under a lot of stress, and yells when indignant or frustrated

this does influence how i try to depict him, because i dont think hes an esp angry person, but when people wont Listen i think THAT does make him mad (and i think its also why he doesnt go to people when he gets home. if he wanted to talk abt things, he wants to talk to people abt how they ARE, not a fake version that people will believe. i think him getting a therapist post-canon is very challenging because of this. he is very stubborn) but when hes stressed or nervous he seems way more likely to Stop doing anything, and its smth i try to take into account when writing him SO much. he CAN be scared and still talking n stuff, but if its too bad hes more likely to freeze up

man tho. people joke abt him fighting REALLY poorly in ep 18 but i think people forget that he is running on FUMES. airy has been chopping down trees for years, hes fine. but liam got to bryces house and slept til morning, and seems to have maybe slept a litttttle? in ep 13, but its not very clear. he may have just sat there til the coast was clear for him to steal bryces car. who knows. but THEN he crashed a car (NOBODY points out that he was limping. either he was very out of it or that guy injured his leg AGAIN. i dont think it was a breakage but he SEEMS like hes in pain and then forgets it). then died a bunch of times. spent a WHOLE day awake. then went to airys world. and is just around for a while, cries, talks to airy, and Likely sleeps a little til morning. or at least lays there. its ALSO not clear. and keep in mind, he JUST spent the week before nonstop hitchhiking with likely minimal food or water bc he... doesnt have money (which i dont think is needed in airys world. i think it and the plane maintain people who live there, but thats its own hc). that, and with the way i interpret how the waiting room heals injuries, his leg may not have fully healed (which airy DEF didnt help. you are NOT supposed to straighten out broken legs. it was better than nothing but that guys leg is NOT healed) similarly, i dont imagine his arm is doing much better. those last few parts CAN be set to the side since that IS just how i interpret the waiting room but even aside from those. all of this to say that when he is fighting airy i think he is VERY obviously Really Fucking Tired. like yeah of COURSE hes not going to aim an AXE well. this guy hasnt known rest in 7 months and KEEPS getting injured. OBVIOUSLY hes not gonna fight well!!! hell, hes never FOUGHT someone with an AXE before. i think hes a little inexperienced on that front too!!!!!!

OH YEAH. sleeping thing reminded me. i think he and amelia sleep on the floor so much out of habit. i think they could sleep ANYWHERE but also bc theyre both so used to shitty sleeping conditions, good sleeping conditions make them fall asleep SUPER fast. this eases w time but i think it happens a lot. i think for the first few months, if liam has one blanket he just goes wow! thats comfortable (falls asleep)

so! um. for those who Arent in the ava community group and thus havent seen these; 4 days ago i posted the first 4 images officially introducing a headcanon that ive had for 2 years. its a hc that is very very important and dear to me that i hold very close to my heart, as it is a MASSIVE projection of my own experiences with having a dissociative disorder and being a system.

the headcanon, to put it at its most simple, is this; chosen is a system of 3, having himself and two others, killer and beast, of whom are sort of seen here via a visual design of their internal appearance/how they see themselves. thats about it.

theres more to it, obviously, and thats the shortest way i can explain it, but trust me when i say it is much much MUCH more complex than i make it out to be. a LOT of projection goes into this, so a lot of how i write chosen and his system are based pretty explicitly off my experiences with the disorder. thus, its actually a ... very detailed headcanon.

i have a LOT of thoughts about this headcanon as again ive had it for years now. you can actually kinda see little inklings of it in my ooold old art of these three! a lot of my thoughts have been posted in the community too, either in the replies of my posts or under a cut, so if anyone is curious and wants it to be rebloggable, feel free to shoot me an ask requesting i put it on here :] and if anyones curious about details to my headcanon, feel free to ask me about it!!! genuinely i adore talking about this one, it means the world to me and i love seeing people enjoy it!

you literally didnt ask but i just want to talk how one of the most fascinating fandom phenomena ive ever seen is the bg3 fandom w batstarion AJJSJSJAJAJAJ like ok canonically hes an idle animation in the epilogue if you do decide to ascend him (which is the "bad" route for his character) BUT

this fandom has a Visceral Need to animal-fy astarion in tiers AJSJSJAJAJA batstarion is the definitely canon one, then you have cat astarion bc his va based the characters mannerisms and behavior on an actual stray he has, then goosetarion as a joke from one of the va's streams. all of these animal forms except for the only one thats actually canon is portrayed as a Menace to society much like the actual character

most of the fandom depicts batstarion as a white albino bat ??? which makes sense given his melanin deficient ass BUT IN THE ACTUAL EPILOGUE hes just the normal coloration ????????? im not complaining bc its still so correct but . the deviation is boggling my mind AKSNSMKAKAKAKA

this is more minor but given that you only get batstarion if you do decide to make him Worse . ive seen some ppl deliberately ignore the circumstances which he would use his bat form in and just hc that he can turn into a bat even wo ascending + its the 200 years of being weakened and abuse which didnt lead him to fully realizing his powers until the events of the game. naturally i also agree w this hc bc i dont want to Acknowledge what ascension does to him <33

- It was a rough start for the two of you.

- You met Viktor as an adolescent teen, back in the pungent yet probably most vibrant portion of Zaun, the lanes.

- Working as a watcher and a keeper for your aunt’s trading post, you sold mostly scholarly items: rolls of parchment papers, charcoal, graphite, lost and unwanted books, and encyclopedias.

- Growing up with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder—better known as ADHD, you haven’t been seen as the best at multitasking, however, you managed to convince your aunt to let you help at the shop because believe it or not, you really did think you were good at multitasking.

- ADHD wasn’t the only disorder you’ve been stuck with—neurodivergent disorders frequently coexist with ADHD and it did NOT make things any easier.

- Mathematics and numbers mercilessly tortured your senses whenever you needed to count or compute or read something that had symbols, at least five times a day you’d end up with an irritated merchant as you spent tens of minutes grasping how much change they had.

- Viktor came to your shop on a hazy morning, placing onto your table a blank-paged journal and three pieces of charcoal to come with.

- It was honestly a fight to stay focused because: it was very early, your mind had not adjusted yet to the energy you needed to function properly—which was very annoying, because ever since you’ve woken up you’ve been trying to do things to kickstart your day but your mind just won’t cooperate with you so you ended up doing absolutely nothing. And two, you wanted to do something else, be somewhere else.

- Being biologically female, ADHD often occurs undiagnosed, and your case wasn’t an exception. Maybe it’s because you were in the Undercity, with no access to any health specialists. Or maybe it was because you’ve never been to one. Not like there were any down there.

- As Viktor waited for you to give him his change and bag his purchase, he cracked open his old journal filled with theories and equations and sketches of all his ideas and thoughts.

- You caught a glimpse of one of his very detailed drawings, thus shifting your attention from your task to what he held in his hands.

- The two of you ended up in a very long discussion about his theory on applied mechanics and mechanical physics—both of which you did not understand, but for some reason amused you to no end.

- He ended up inviting you to the little makeshift lab he used to tinker and conduct experiments. For you it was a safe haven; you felt like it was a place where you could do anything and everything you could think of.

- Only if you had the energy to.

- You told him about your mental and learning struggle a few years after establishing a good and healthy bond with him, but he beat you to it—he’s had his suspicions all along—and you only confirmed it.

- Not that it was a bad thing, it actually helped him help you in certain areas where you needed a little help, like how he’d remind you that you went into the kitchenette to make a pot of coffee after he walks in on you enjoying a deep-sea creature photo book 30 minutes after you’d went inside. Or when he’d bring pieces of chocolate for you to receive after every page you successfully read.

- Basically, you were perfectly capable of living on your own with ADHD without anyone’s help or support. Viktor just made it a hundred times better.

- He never told you to “Stop fidgeting,” or “Stop procrastinating.” Or that you were better off taking medication (which you weren’t able to do as the Undercity greatly lacked in medical supplies, much less mental health-related ones) or that you just needed to calm down.

- Instead, he’d give positive reinforcement whenever you did something beneficial for yourself, and would remind you in an ever so gentle reminder when you start to get off-tracked.

- When he’d receive the letter from the dean of the academy that he was to be given a chance to enroll in the academy and live in the city, he brought you along with him—he wanted a better life for the two of you.

- There were a few more things he’d learned upon living with you. There were ‘some days,’ and ‘other days.’

- On some days, you’d get up early. Wake up with a light body, feeling capable of doing anything you wanted. You would exercise, do yoga. Walk all the way to the market, come home with groceries in hand. Hyperfocused. Productive.

- But on other days, you’d get up later than noon. Sometimes, not even get up at all. Everything would feel overwhelming to you, often resulting in your brain and body shutting down and closing off to the world. You’d have extreme trouble analyzing even the most basic of things, like how much time there is left until Viktor comes home. Insecurity would feed off of your self-deprecating thoughts, paralyzing your thought train and crushing the will to do anything at all.

- The first few days Viktor experienced these (separately) he was constantly in a state of mild panic. Mostly because he was afraid that he wouldn’t be of any help to you. But he had never despised you for your disorder—it was something neither you nor he could change—and none of it definitely wasn’t your fault.

- It took him a few tries to discover what options he had and what was necessary to do in order to keep you from acting recklessly, he didn’t want you to suffer any consequences. He was there to help for a reason.

- There are times when you’d explain things to him more times than needed, but all he’d do is chuckle to himself and sit down listening to you.

- Sometimes it would take hours.

- He knew it was something beyond your control; there was no way he could scold you for excessive chatter. He often restrained himself from finding it adorable—it was a byproduct of your mental illness—one thing people should not ‘adore’ or glorify.

- All in all, although Viktor’s not as familiar with the health aspect of science as he is with the mechanical and technical counterpart, he learned enough through you and for you, to help you.

- He sure enjoys doing things for you.

- And he loves it.

and about the clone theory— i unfortunately dont like it very much, at least for my own ideas and content (not hate it or want ppl who hc to stop tho, thats just mean, this is just personal taste & people who hc it are cool). its not a personal jab to anyone whos main headcanon is that, because of course anyone can headcanon anything (glad u guys are having fun w it!). its just that i myself personally dont vibe with it much.

(gonna explain why i personally dont like the hc for my own content here but please dont take it as me saying it sucks, this is just personal tastes when it comes to interpreting story things): the reason i dont like to adopt this headcanon for myself is mostly bc i feel like its denying of what tord became as a character. from what ive seen, its been used a lot as a way to say that “hey tord didnt actually become evil suddenly, silly legacy team!!!! im gonna explain this random evilness by saying that that is an evil tord clone from spares” (most ppl say it in a lighthearted way is fine & actually p silly). it isnt bad to think of reasonings why tord suddenly became this way since i do it with my own RL headcanons too, i just like to headcanon these types of shifts in personality as a kind of Character Growth instead of resorting to an outside source/excuse(?) for him to suddenly becoming evil like making the evil tord a clone.

i understand why people feel more comfortable in letting the og tord be his own self instead of suddenly becoming bastardized within a single episode after years of not appearing, though. i get it— i was a fan since classic so the change took me by surprise as well. i just personally enjoy thibking about what couldve made tord change for the worst. its particularly fun for me especially considering there was a big hint of it back in Christmas Special 2005 (i was actually gonna write a post abt this some time.. also dont take this as me saying smth like ‘lol my hc has proof while urs doesnt!!’ in the end it doesnt matter if theres proof of a hc or not, its all for fun, just saying that making these connections makes it fun for me)

considering my blog title is literally Red Leader Apologist.. i guess what im saying is that im a sucker for character growth and stuff LOL.. that is all. hc’ing that The End tord was a clone kinda takes that growth aspect of tord headcanons away at least imo. but hey, to the ppl who hc it: ur cool! i actually do like seeing ppl create stuff based off this headcanon especially when it’s humorous like the spiderman pointing meme lol. i feel like you can do a lot w it too. just personally not what i headcanon myself.

little nightmares/mostly six headcannons

-the kids almost never talk. like, they can, but every little noise can mean death and theyre just not used to it. their norm is communicating nonverbally and just going along with whatever the other is doing cause they trust each other. their speech is also kind of broken

-even when they do talk six is very quiet, mono does all the talking and six often just ignores his questions lol. shes not doing it to be rude tho, she never had that many human interactions much less conversations, she doesnt know how they work (ive seen a lot of ppl hc her as selectively mute and i like that but im not 100% sure how that works, i have to read more about it)

- the way i see the world of ln is that it's a world where who knows how many years ago it was normal, just like ours, but a bunch of different magical events/entities/forces started messing with it and it became how it is now. theres a lot of other weird places besides what we see in the game. and in the comics its kinda said that these magical things mess with your memories too, if you dont talk about them, you forget them

-we see in the game that six is kinda feral and behaves like an animal sometimes, so i headcannon that whatever magical thing happened to the place she's from, happened when she was very young. she spent most of her life alone, teaching herself how to live, and is not very socialized

-mono has way more like experience with socialization and human communities etc than six, only being really affected by the magic stuff for the last couple of years, but between the fading memories and time loop paradox thing, he doesnt remember any of it

-neither of them can write tho mono knows how to read

-six is very playfull and, when shes relaxed, loves playing pranks on mono. she also loves drawing

-this is kinda based on how players always make mono to be a uwu soft boy pacifist and six a genocidal blood thirsty monster, even tho on the game mono kills more people than six, but when six does something creepy mono is like "six, what the heck, youre terrible" while six is "???? wha???didnt you just kill 3 people 5 minutes ago????"

-six is like terrified of monos powers. this is kinda canon because after she pulls him out of the tv she does seem to be scared and pushes herself away from him, but still, i wanted to include it here bc i dont see many ppl talking about it. she mostly just ignores it tho cause she trusts him

-while the game itself only lasts a couple of hours i like to think mono and six actually travelled together for like 1 or 2 months and the game is just a tldr version of that, only rlly showing the important parts lmao. but they did a lot of walking climbing eating  sleeping bonding etc

Beth Riley || The Nurse Shark I. Favourite flavour of Coke: Beth doesn’t actually really drink “soda” unless she’s using it as a base for a mixed drink and even then she prefers tonic water. And she much prefers to drink coffee or tea if she’s being social or the group’s designated driver. If she absolutely has to choose something, it might be a ginger ale or root-beer. II. Favourite Starbucks order: Beth could not literally be caught dead inside of a Starbucks, when her two best friends both own brick and mortar coffee shops of their own. Something about patronising a chain store, especially one whose quality has declined over the course of years just feels dirty. Her go-to order outside of being IN Hawai’i and having access to real Kona, is fairly simple. A four shot vanilla soy latte. Sometimes with a dollop of whipped cream. She will drink coffee year-round and at home, she has a pot almost continually brewing. III. Favourite non-lips place to be kissed: Being tactile and so sensitive to touch, Beth could make an argument for nearly any part of the body, ranging from the top of the head to the soles of feet, under the right circumstances. But if she had to pick one and only one? It’s the part of the neck that becomes the shoulder or maybe a little lick in the hollow between her collar-bones. IV. Does she believe in love at first sight: Absolutely not. She believes in recognition at first sight, that moment you know that the person you’re looking at is someone that has always been missing in your life until that very moment, or perhaps that this is the exact right moment you were supposed to meet them, but it’s a far cry from love. Neither does she experience lust or desire at first sight either. She cannot really wrap her head around the concept, nor really understand the feelings that might be had between strangers. Desire and attraction are very complicated emotions for her, both because she is demisexual and also does not distinguish the difference between romantic, platonic, or familial love. To her it’s all one emotion rather than variations. {the ONE exception to this is the first time she met Zarek in her main verse} V. Her karaoke song choice: Beth cannot claim to be the best singer {that was always her brother’s talent} but she enjoys singing along to the radio and she loves going to karaoke only slightly less than she prefers dancing. She doesn’t have a single go-to song choice but her style tends to flatter her naturally smokey voice. She tends towards singers like Norah Jones or Alannah Myles, Beatles songs, or surprisingly enough, older grunge acts like Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains.  And given the choice? Literally anything by Pearl Jam, or if they have Braddah Iz...well, that’s what you’re getting from her. Preferably after two and a half glasses of wine or two shots of vodka. Disney character they feel like they relate to the most: With a bout of very personal self-accounting, Beth would have to choose Lilo from Lilo & Stitch. Firstly because Lilo is the only Hawai’ian girl she’s seen in a film, and while there might be cultural appropriation and some bloated saccharine sweetness to the film ~she absolutely hates how everyone now says Ohana means Family, without really thinking or knowing much about her culture~ she also appreciates that people can see class and economic culture in the film, can see what foreign influence can have on the islands, and she really loves the music.  But mostly, she can see parallels of a younger sibling being raised by an older one {Lilo’s parents are dead, Beth feels like her parents are dead to her}, how she doesn’t fit in well with others. She can identify with Lilo’s loneliness, with her sarcastic and enforced push toward a strange maturity that doesn’t fit a child, when said child is reacting to trauma, grief, depression. She also notes that one of the meanings of the name Lilo is “lost”. Beth is sometimes nicknamed Moana. And while the film isn’t complete trash, there are some elements she will discuss at length as absolutely wrong. But the music is glorious, and she understands there’s no harm meant in it; people have good feelings and see some of the character in her. At least Moana is pseudo-Pasifikan. Favourite Disney Character: Hands down? Scar. What? Don’t judge. You know you love the heck out of him too. She also absolutely loves Stitch, Pascal {the Chameleon in Tangled}, and she will die on the hill that says Cobra Bubbles is actually a cartoon version of Nick Fury.

Taco Bell Order: If she absolutely must choose, she’ll take two bean and cheese burritos with extra red sauce, cilantro lime rice, and an order of cinnamon twists. It’s certainly not her go to when she remembers to eat, but sometimes it’s all she can manage when working back-to-back shifts at the hospital. Favourite amusement park/boardwalk ride: Beth is adverse to most ‘rides’ due to questionable safety and physics. She has a terrible phobia of heights, high speeds, and things like that. But she absolutely loves the B&B Carousell in the Luna Park portion of Coney Island. Which Friends character would she be: She would have to say Phoebe, for a lot of reasons, none of which she’s ashamed of. But she more identifies with Lisa Kudrow, who plays the character. Both her easy portrayal of Phoebe and because in real life the woman is also an astrophysicist and incredibly intelligent. Favourite type of cookie: Beth also doesn’t really eat much in the way of sweets. In fact, Beth doesn’t really eat much of anything at all, problematic because of her hyper-metabolism. But she will never refuse the bar cookies that her best friend Jayden Morgan { @morgansmornings​} makes: they consist of sweetened condensed milk, butterscotch chips, sweetened coconut flakes, toffee chunks, toasted and glazed pecans, and what she can only assume is pure magic.

- this was my first ever fic written!! i remember admiring the work of the writers here on tumblr, and took one long look at my rose crown (which is now sitting on top of my cabinet teehee). this was the moment i began to associate shoto with roses; probably because the flowers hold a great meaning to me, and so does he🥺💖 

2. a telltale of two souls - chuuya. (fluff)

- chuuya is sky’s favorite character; and writing for him really brings me so much of inspiration to jump from au to au! to surprise her, i stayed up till 2 writing this fic, and i did not regret it! unfortunately tumblr ate it when i was trying to edit a tiny mistake in the fic, and i had a huge breakdown. thanks to my starlight, i gained the motivation to get it done all over again! i would say i did not regret one bit of this experience - except for when i wanted to edit it.😖👉👈

3. i love you - bnha. (fluff)

- i’ve seen the one tiktok trend on how (insert character here) would react to y/n confessing, falling asleep on them, etc etc. and i remember feeling extra soft at that moment, so i said y e s. time for some fluff to bless everyone. 2020 may have been terrible, but these boys never failed to let me down. 🥰🥺❤

4. shadows - dazai (angst)

- i was tempted to write some dazai angst; most of my moots knew how to nail every. single. angst fic. of dazai. and i was inspired to write a drabble of my own! hence this lil piece. i think i may have broken tons of hearts - for that i apologize!!!😖 this is where i also learnt i should be writing more fluff for this baby boy. 

5. under the mistletoe - jjk (fluff)

- my first work for jujutsu kaisen!! such a new experience writing for them, it felt so surreal and magical. i never knew i’d be writing for them because i did have some doubts on whether i’d be able to describe their personalities well through my writing. but based on the response i have gotten from my first piece, let’s just say there will be more to come! 😼✨

6. you make me feel like i’m alive again - shoto. (fluff)

- band au shoto, band au shoto - but anyway!! writing for shoto? i can never, ever say no. especially when it comes to au’s where he’s singing, or doing something we would never expect from him but only hope for it to happen. i love crossing boundaries, mixing and matching, learning and living. so put them all together and bam!! he’s in a band with y/n.

7. scream if you’re with me - izuku. (fluff)

- see, i already had the plan to write this lyric prompt with chuuya (definitely not gonna spoil it here wink wonk). but!! when i got deku it got me thinking for a very, very long time. what if anon didn’t enjoy it? what au should i discover now? turns out that all i needed was cold weather, a snowy day in their world, and a heartwarming scenario for both y/n and izuku. i can say that i was scared, but i soon began to feel more satisfied when i got it done. 🥺🤍

8. how it feels to rest on your patient lips - akutagawa. (fluff, slight nsfw)

- this was my first time writing something like this. i remember writing some slight nsfw hc’s for bnha (emphasis on slight), but this felt new. like i was, once again, discovering something new. nevertheless, i was worried on how it turned out, but clio helped me boost my confidence!! so thanbk you cliooo UwU🥺🥺💖💖
