Do people have no fucking common human decency? Are peoples hearts just so filled with hatred they have to exploit it by making fun of people’s deaths in front of those who actually care about him. I’m sick and tired of having to pretend that I’m okay all the time when in reality, Liams death is fucking hitting me hard. This is the first time I’ve ever lost someone who meant this much to me and people have the AUDACITY to make jokes about it IN FRONT OF MY FACE. Or to even have the NERVE to come up to me and purposely tell me you “don’t care” HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU NOT CARE!? That’s someone’s son, brother, FATHER. And you “don’t care”???? Have some fucking RESPECT!
#the ammount of times I’ve cried tonight#because someone’s made just a simple comment#is astronomical#it shouldn’t take for me snapping and yelling at two teenage boys for people to get the message#THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO ARE GREIVING#it doesn’t matter weather they look like they are or not#deep down they could be#have some general knowledge and put yourself in their shoes#please for the love of god.#Liam Payne#grief#loss#maisie angry rants

Can yall imagine yourself being wen ning marching towards your death (this time willingly) with your sister's hand in your own, all to protect the people you love?
Watching them burn her to death and hearing that its meaningless and that they still plan to continue and kill everyone, you attempt to break out and rush back, but its not possible, and you're confined before long.
It isnt until time passes and in your confinement you hear of how the people you loved and would give everything to protect have all been killed and its through the guards holding you captive jeering and laughing and that the world is celebrating their deaths.
And you can't even weep because your eyes can't cry
They're all dead. What was it for? What was her death for?! What had his A-Jie been burned to death for?
Little A-Yuan,
Granny Wen,
Uncle Four... everyone is dead.
Young Master Wei....Wei Wuxian, the last sight you remember is him lying there helplessly calling for you to not go and you wish you had listened.
You can only greive now. The only thing you can do is scream, and its not enough.
Then they begin experimenting on you, and no one knows you're kept down here, locked away, all alone with people who don't consider you human.
Then you lose your free will, your thoughts and consciousness, until 13 years later.
13 Years Later, you hear a familiar melody calling for you and a seed of hope grows in your chest
#thinking of those 13 years from wen nings perspective#thinking of wwx and wns reunion#wwx played music to summon the most powerful resentful energy around#and wn answered#mdzs#wei wuxian#wen ning#the untamed#wen qing#wen remnants#a yuan#lan sizhui#granny wen#uncle four#uncle six#burial mound settlement days#im surprised wen ning is sane after that

Why is it always Robin has to prove himself to Batman? Be it any Robin. And no, I'm not talking about characters, because Bruce—Bruce is like “Everyone must prove themselves to me but I'm not answerable to anyone” that motherfucker. Very IC.
I'm talking about stories, about narratives—why does every Robin-centric narrative has a “prove themselves to Batman” arc—but Bruce's arc never involves proving himself to anyone?
Why, after the events of the Tower of Babel, Bruce didn't have to work to gain the Justice League's approval? Why didn't he have to work to redeem himself, dammit!
Yes. He had to reveal his identity. But then, it wasn't his idea. It was Clark's. It's fundamentally different from Dick unmasking in front of the Titans: Dick feels in his bones that it isn't fair that he's the only one masked and the Titans are up for mutiny, so he made an executive decision.
It didn't even occur to Bruce to do it. Dammit, the fucker wasn't even trying to get back into Justice League. Clark had to persuade him. And no, I don't mean he should have gone and begged them to let him in. He doesn't need them.
But let's be honest: none of the Leaguers need the League. But humanity does. That's why they put their differences aside and band together.
Bruce is selfless when it comes to sacrificing his family a la Batman : Ego. Oh!—it's Bruce's children that are dying in Batman's mission. Isn't he so noble?—the picture of tragedy? The greiving father? The man who can't even have a steady romantic relationship because Batman wouldn't let him? So selfless—until he isn't. Until the JL—in other words, a planet full of people—need him to swallow his pride. Then, he isn't selfless anymore.
He's selfless when he's a father sending his children to war for the greater good—but he's not selfless when it's time to swallow his pride, to take the risk of trusting someone even after being traumatised and betrayed—for the greater good. (And honestly his trust issues seem narcissistic when surrounded by people like Dick, Alfred and freaking Commissioner Gordon!)
You know who does it? Dick Grayson. That's who. The “trust no one” maxim has been drilled into him by Bruce, but even then he chooses to trust. Not because he's stupid, but because it's a requirement. He totally expects to be stabbed in the back; he isn't naïve. But he'd rather be betrayed than have someone be barred from help because they seemed suspicious. It's canon in Titans. He says it in words, look it up. To Brother Blood, I guess.
Bruce didn't have to work to get on the League's good side. He just had to reveal his ID to regain trust and that, too, was Clark's idea.
And that's not an attempt at redemption, because if it was, then why did Clark have to do it too? Clark didn't do anything to deserve it. But Bruce forces him to and Clark agrees: for the greater good that the League trusting each other would ensure.
Clark Kent, who chooses to forego a mask so that people trust him. Literally, it comes down to that. Who has to built his whole civilian life around the fact that he shows his bare fucking face to the whole world.
And honestly, if I were to throw genre convention aside and read the text the hard way, Bruce doesn't seem really all that bothered with keeping his ID a secret. He's nothing compared to Clark. I mean. Come on, look at the number of people who know Bruce's ID and the number that know Clark's and tell me. Fucking tell me who's more serious about that stuff.
Bruce's entire existence hinges on other characters’ kindness, in and out of universe. In-universe there's this massive brigade of people who know his ID and keep it a secret. Out of universe, writers who show him to be the best even though Clark, Diana, Dick are all more worthy than him.
This is what you get when you let little incels run creative industries.
What did Bruce ever have to do to redeem himself to anyone? Literally anyone? Bruce would let Gotham burn if it meant he keeps his colossal pride intact. But oh, send his children to die: woe is him, this greiving father, so tragique—would absolutely do that.
He isn't even a hero. You know the impact of Batman: Ego and BtAS pales when put next to his very selfish acts when it comes to himself.
Because always—ALWAYS—the uwu factor in Bruce's stories aren't personal.
Not like it's in Clark's who has to face xenophobia because he's an alien. He's natural existence—his powers that are a part of him existing—being called a threat. He still helps.
Not like Diana who comes to the Man's World and decides to stay behind despite it being, well, a Man's World. That would never really respect her as much as it respects a man, any man, even though she's a literal Goddess. Coming and staying in Man's World for her means loneliness. Being immortal and watching every friend she ever made become a memory. But she chose to do it. Because at the end of the day, it's not about her. It's about helping people.
But for Bruce, in true male-is-default fashion, it's about losing people. People he loves.
His parents' death, Jason's death and so on and so forth. I'm not saying losing someone is not painful. I'm just saying it's always about his manpain.
Making the victim's pain his.

dawg as stupid as Omoon was acting these past few days, he was right about something. He is absolute SHIT at comforting people dhdjjfjdkfn. like holy shit your brother is greiving the loss of someone he loved, who he had to kill with his own two hands, and your response is to go on some sob story about how you aren't as cool and smart as people make you out to be and how you're a terrible brother but also you're still smart and stuff so 'ohh sunny if i'm bad just tell me, i'll still be your brother its okay, but the person your greiving was EVIL and STUPIDer!!!! im doing so much better then he did see!!!' like fuck moon you just said the most sob story nothing speech i've ever seen. and then said he'll leave and sun should just drown his feelings.
i was watching solar send hate beams through the back of moons head the whole time jdhfkf 'i don't think you where saying most of that to sun' just hit it on the head babe, you don't gotta baby him its okay to tell him that was shit LMAO
This ask is so fucking funny /pos
I sincerely hope Solar directly confronts Moon about this in upcoming episodes- cause I feel like this man is sick of seeing Moon's be assholes to their loved ones, and Solar has a lot of pent-up feelings about the Nexus situation too, I think. He's always been good at hiding those, but his emotions come out in tidal waves. If the dam breaks when he snaps at Moon, then the whole flood is coming.
And listen. I understand that Moon is not good at emotions, but now that he's finally talked to Sun and Sun has basically told him that what he needs is for Moon to just be there for him because he misses Nexus and he needs his family there with him so he's not alone in mourning his lost brother, Moon's response being "FUCK NEXUS" and then leaving Sun be to "bury his feelings" is. That's so fucking dumb of him, man. Respect to Moon enjoyers but he's being so dumb rn it's making me even more of a little hater than usual. I get that he might just be trying to help in his own way, but the way his help is being given is directly contradicting what Sun wants and needs right now. And that is not okay.
AND we know Moon is capable of proper forms of comfort because we saw him do so in the July 16th aftermath episodes. He was so kind and patient and sweet to Sun during that time, and he was there for him. He needs to do better, because we all know he can.

The palace walls, stained with red.
108 corpses, thrown about like dolls.
It made telemachus sick.
He shuddered looking at them, his eyes wide with horror, his face stained like the walls.
These were people, aweful people yes , but still people, and he and this unknown man and athena had chopped them down like their lives meant nothing.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder.
The archer that had helped him with this slaughter gave him an unreadable expression
Telemachus could practically hear his thoughts.
"No mercy" "why bother with pity?" "Stop being such a child"
He attempted to school the horror out of his face.
The stranger moved his hand to wipe some tears Telemachus didn't know were there.
"Greive and weep as much as you need but don't let it make you forget why this was nessasary."
"W-what?"
"This was a disgusting event. Disgust is the natural reaction. Don't blame yourself for it but don't regret this either nor hate yourself for you know what these men were planning. "
Telemachus paused.
The stranger was right.
But his philosophy was strange.
No demands of dropping his emotions or yells or anything but empathetic truth.
"I'm glad you don't take pleasure in this,"
The stranger continued, "it indicates your love of life and that is valuable"
"I see" Huh, this was new.
"People who have no love of life kill without nessity. That is no way to live.you would only make enemies."
Telemachus considered this. He found he agreed.
A small owl fluttered down from the roof and morphed into Athena.
"Shall we clean up then. Imagine how mad Penelope would be if she saw what you wrought.
Her little quip earned her chuckles from both men.
She waved a golden wand. The corpses and blood disappeared. The hall looked like nothing happened.
Athena tapped both men with her wand, removing all the blood and sweat from them too.
Curiously, she went to tap the stranger again.
When she did, His face changed,
Changed into a man that had Telemachus nose and eyes yet he seemed older and grayer.......
"Father?"

In and Of Itself | Masterlist
Losing Johnny nearly killed him. Simon, after being given the option to join the study or be forced into early retirement, joins a double blind AI study on processing trauma from an internal landscape. Paired with traditional talk therapy the goal is to measure if the AI connection would be worth funding further to keep soliders from dying by their own hands. Only what Simon finds is the most detailed visual representation of an AI who gives sass, has a croocked section of finger between the second and third knuckle of her third finger, and feels somehow real. When his sessions are called short because he confesses feelings for his AI counterpart Simon greives the loss of another love. A few years later while waiting at a psyicitary appointment Simon picks up a magazine boasting about how mental connections would help PTSD sufferers more effectively than talk therapy alone. Remembering his own diagnosis of PTSD he picks up the magazine and is stilled in an instant when the face of his AI interactions is proven to be a woman, vibrant and alive. Now it seems he simply needs to find her.

Now… Due to my birdflash fixation, I have completely struck out and decided to make this post to explain why I read/headcanon them as exes. I now realize that this is going to be a long, drawn out way of saying “I think they have explored each other’s bodies,” well, it’s a little bit more than that 😭. In my head, I always felt as though Wally and Dick’s relationship sometimes read to me as two people who felt greatly for each other in their youths then over time found other people and new purpose and continued to pull away from the other.
Sometimes they treat each other kind of like how I’d treat an ex boyfriend or girlfriend, especially in Flash/Nightwing years.
Now I think it’s important to talk about their roles as Robin and Kid Flash, they are characters created to be relatable, the whole sidekick schtick was about appealing to the younger audience. It was such an early era that it should be noted that Dick and Wally did not have anyone else. Unlike now, Dick has a plethora of Robins to have seperate and distinct relationships with, same thing with Wally, any insecurities and worries can make someone feel extremely lonely. They did not have anyone, anyone but each other.
The early years for Robin and Kid Flash must had been confusing for the both of them so they had to confide in each other. Around this time I feel like it could be easier to fall more into a queerplatonic relationship with someone, Dick could feel confused and lonely, as he does then seeks and finds in Wally, with emotions hitting a peak I could totally see them accidentally falling for the other and sharing a relationship that’s a little more than friends…
It’s a big contrast. Wally has shown this big obligation for helping Dick and being there for him. This has always been strange to me. His inclination to try and be that person for him, which to me can feel like someone clinging to a relationship they know is slipping away.
It’s important to note that as Nightwing, the people there for Dick was not Wally, by this time, Wally became the Flash, found family, found love and entered the JLA. He was moving on and so was Dick but they still feel this inclination to call each other “best friends” though all the evidence says otherwise. It feels like one is clinging to a broken friendship to me.
He’s always so concerned for Dick because he knows how often he represses his emotions.
It’s why in my head, I can totally see Dick and Wally in their Robin/Kid Flash eras, losing their way, getting confused and confiding in each other in let’s say: a romantic way and now as adults they don’t know how to deal with it.
I know Dick is just thinking here but like, they do this A LOT. Like what is the need for this constant tension in the air with these two? Why is it so awkward? Why does it feel like there is something they want to say but can’t bring themselves to say it?
It makes my mind want to fill in the blanks…
Here they are saying flatly that it feels like an obligation. This is the closest they’ve gotten to really talking about how their dynamic has changed. It’s very sweet. It’d also be due to outside factors, like DC not knowing what to do with these two and refusing to let these two acknowledge that they are not best friends anymore and their lives have changed greatly. The thing about Superhero comics is that there’s so much fighting that the characters never get a chance to sit and just talk so it’s more the writers constantly trying to cling on to what they remember the Robin/Kid Flash dynamic to be and making it seem like these characters are clinging to their relationship.
Thry gush about the progress they make a lot and Wally feels like… I don’t know, his pride may fill the void the graysons left behind? Like he’s kind of a subtle replacement. It helps with my idea that Dick could be greiving his parents then quickly subconsciously seek and confide in Wally. Their relationship just is distinctly different from all their other friends in a way I can never pin down or the writers refuse to acknowledge. How Dick is much closer to Donna and Roy but they both still are mindlessly attached to one another like there’s this secret third thing keeping them together.
Wally has fully moved on and found his soulmate. Dick found Kory and fell pathetically in love but now he has nothing again and in canon still does this “Oh my best best friend to ever was, Wally~” It feels very much like someone hasn’t gotten over their little break up… 🙄 Even now they still comfort and talk about each other with a little bit more love and affection then they might do their other friends for this same weird reason.
Although, there’s one Wally West panel that Birdflash shippers had taken out of context: the one where Wally says “I got married and he didn’t.”
It’s not saying that Wally wishes he got married to Dick, 😭 but even then that goes into the little foulder of evidence that proves I think Wally and Dick’s relationship is ex-coded because it’s literally a bunch of thought bubbles about how Wally is heartbroken that he has moved on with his life and his life with Dick and they are no longer as close as they once were at all. (I can’t fit the panel in this post so I can just hope you know what I’m talking about) <- but my point is: Birdflash as a ship could be so much better if we stopped ignoring Linda and started treating them as exes instead. It’s so much more interesting. This is what I mean when I say they are my favorite exes.
#i dont get the hate to this ship#<- ‘we should celebrate platonic male relationships’#they are platonic best friends and so is the ship you like#so should you just stop shipping them because they are platonic? no? exactly#and the whole ‘shipping birdflash just ignores linda’ thing that people do#shipping s*perbat also ignores lois lane but people don’t complain about that#clark and wally are just as family oriented in their characters#JUST AS. this would be a way of saying that any ship where someone has a significant other should not be shipped which is has been wrong#since the beginning of time#but i also definitely do think birdflash shippers who make it seem like wally would cheat on linda are very weird#stop it…#birdflash#wally west#batfam#dick grayson#nightwing#birdflash ex posting#ex ships#i probably have read for wally way more also now that i think about it#i really need to pick up more nightwing

Brainworms cannot be contained so I need to confess to you one (1) thing...
Yes. I have au where sols can be saved but there is a lil thing I need to mention... not all of them will survive... ACTUALLY THEY MiGHT BE HAPPY ONLY FOR A WHILE ONLY TO DIE AGAIN. Ooops!
So let's call this thing "out of spite AU".
Basic premise is Yi saves as many sols, as he can and all of them have a lession to learn. They given a chance to grow and redeem themselfs. Not in front of apeman or remaining solarians (if there id left any), no. It's a redemption before oneself. Because yes, they will be safe for a while, but the end is the same. Kuafu will be the only solarian to survive in the end... or does he?
Mainly trough this exist to explore 4 things: 1. Dynamics between Sols 2. How they will face their inner conflict (most of them remain their initial core traits, don't worry, but some aspects of them might change a little) 3. Sols interacting with ShuanShuan (it also ties to their inner conflict! He helps others like he helps Yi to understand that life good on its own. Mainly tho its a self-indulingent cute bonding stuff between Sols and ShuanShuan) 4. Jieyi (AM SORRY I HAVE SEVER CASE OF BEING REALLY INVESTED IN GUYS OBSESSED WITH PROTAGS I AM WEAK)
Who will be saved?
- Kuafu. Same as in canon.
-Jiequan. Well, I said it would be really funny concept for him to be saved first of all people. Yi doing exactly that, initially out of spite. But it's ironic that in the literal sense Jieqan did not win - Yi just broke all of his teapods and did not let him die like a hero become a gooquan - but he won the spiritual battle. His torture made Yi better. Well, it's not but it made Yi mad enough to do the opposite of rampage. He is restraind in the pavilion at the time (but not for long)
-Goumang. After thinking (and being really pissed) abou his and Jiequan similarity he desides that he might gone a little bit rough on Goumang. When he is back at the agrocurtual hall she is alive, but gravely injured. It's a miracle she didn't bleed out by the time they arrived at the pavilion. He and Kuafu tend her wounds, but she is NOT happy to be here. At least, at first
-Nuwa. At this point in story Yi is finally giving a rest to his killing rampage. Nuwa is a strange case because she is no use to Yi. Jiequan is a fighter, Goumang is somewhat of the healer in this au. Nuwa is a spoiled mean brat. Kinda just like him! No one deserve to die like...this. He will not let her go near Fuxi, when he's down. She would cry, crawl and bite her way out, but to no avail. I will say she is safe in this au for sake of exploring her personality and how it would change with absence of her brother around. How she would become independent.
-Ji. He is the intresting case because he is wanting to die. He is tired of life. He wants to rest and join dao. However I think he might stay for a while because his hexagramm... lied to him. Jiequan has to much impact in this AU huh. Well, I think he knew Jiequan and Yi's fight would not end good. He forsaw Jiequan die... but now Yi is telling him that the last member of the jie is alive and well! I think that would intrigue Ji, actually. Why would hexagramms lie to him? Did the Yi changed course of history? And additional layer to this if certain someone once also made a hexagramm prediction untrue.
Or, maybe, hexagramms want him to preserve this story too? His last story to tell.
Who will not survive:
-Yanlao. First, at this point Yi was not ignited by spite and did not reconsider his choices! And second - he is a lesson to learn for Yi. A irreversable mistake, that can't be take back. Not that he is greiving for this loss but it kinda make jiequan with his "do you think saving me does you a good guy automathicly? With other you was not that merciful, young master Yi" sting harder. And that is making Yi pissed, but... pissed Yi is a Yi how does rethink his decisions so maybe this is for the better
-Lady Etheral. Well she is no longer in a condition to be saved. She is basicly a brain in a jar and can't be brought back. All they can do is honor her properly. Let her rest at last.
-Eigong. This is intersting case because I belive she is long lost. At least, I think she is beliving herself to be a lost cause. She will not let Yi and Goumang save her. She will go with this ship, because her role is played already. So she would go on her own terms and would not be swayed. I love her so much as a character, but this the vibe I get from her. Besides I need more drama and angst for this AU sooo...
Let's stop for now. There is a couple of aspects I want to talk about more, but I think some of my ideas will translate better trough my art!
Not now, tho. Because I need to finish funny haha comics first and THEN do serious shit.
Feel free to ask about this AU tho!
#nine sols#nine sols au#out of spite au#this au was brewing in my head for several days#there is soooo much to draw for this au but it mainly the cutesie stuff or funny one... no angst#AT LEAST NOW#will continue to talk about it tomorrow this is not a threat#for now brainworms are satiated and waiting for moots reaction and takes#gotta go and snort mimimi not at 6 a.m. tonight ffs#sorry for any grammatical errors I wrote this at 3 a.m. high on emotions

I really liked "Luminary Wardance", maybe even more than the main quest from that patch. But I have a problem with Boothill's involvement. As I see it, either the writing was bad for that part even by the HSR's uneven standards, or I'm missing something (which is quite possible, so please correct me if I'm wrong), but that's my problem.
1. Boothill is described as "extremely optimistic and unrestrained. He is a member of the Galaxy Rangers who swore to punish the wretched by any and all means." That little event before his release described some of his crimes: wild, fun, and chaotic; I don't remember him derailing trains full of orphans or something. He was appalled when Aventurine accused him of killing his bodyguards. So basically I understood him as a character who, despite all the hardships, under his inhuman appearance and gruff manners, hasn't lost his humanity and fundamentally is a good person, valuing human lives.
Was I wrong?
Because now he has no problem killing an innocent, disabled, and severely mentally ill kid in this supposedly friendly competition, basically for no reason.
Look, he's grinning maniacally; he crearly has no qualms about this; he's aiming for the head:
2. But let's imagine Luka wasn't swift enough. The floor of the arena is covered with his blood, brain matter, and skull fragments, exactly as Boothill threatened.
Luka's father receives terrible news back at home (would Boothill send a little apology letter? like, "whoops, sorry", or "same, bro", or "he had it coming"?) He's left alone to grieve the violent loss of his child on this dying planet, once invaded by the IPC and abandoned by the universe. Wow, well done, Boothill. That will show the IPC!
As a writer, how little should you care about the story and the characters you are writing about to not notice the obvious parallel?
3. But why did he do that? The writers give us the flimsiest excuse:
Boothill: I wanna see every news outlet in the cosmos buzzin' with the headline "The IPC's most wanted man stole the spotlight at the Wardance. He came out with the fudge blazin' and sure made them IPC shirtbags choke on the humble pie."
Okay, let's pretend he killed Luka, this fan favorite underdog, in front of the whole universe. Let's pretend he wasn't spooked away by some IPC cops (and we'll talk about it later). He fought Yanqing and killed him too. He just proved in front of the whole universe that he's actually as cruel and dangerous as the IPC propaganda said. And he got a new powerful enemy (because I don't think JY would be reasonable about losing his child like this. I mean, how many greiving fathers can we get in one hypothetical scenario?)
I don't think the IPC higher-ups will lose any sleep over it!
4. Was there even a need to kill anybody? It's explicitly stated several times that "by holding the Wardance, they're demonstrating to everyone that they've returned to a state of peace and safety" (and it's not to satisfy people's thirst for blood or something). It's a festival, not some kind of death fight. I've got the impression that it's mostly for younger people to have fun and prove themselves. Most of the competing powerful adults don't even show their full strength. Nobody is expected to kill anybody. Yanqing decisively defeated Luka, and they ended up being friends.
Don't tell me Boothill isn't skilled enough to aim for Luka's arm to disable it with a shot (I mean that's what ended up happening but not for his lack of trying!). Or, if he wanted blood, why not just shoot Luka in the kneecaps? He'd probably need two new prosthetics, but he'd definitely be alive.
5. I already showed that Boothill would've achieved nothing if he won. But what about Luka? Maybe it's his fault? Was he too prideful? Was giving up an option for him? Absolutely not. He wasn't just representing himself, the children of the Underworld who believe in him, and that little girl who died, but his whole planet. It's the first time most people even hear about Jarilo-VI. And the first impression is crucial. Jarilo-VI is far from being safe, their chances for survival are tiny. Any support he can gain might be the matter of life and death for his homeworld. And we know that it worked because JY offered the Luofu's help to Jarilo in the end.
6. Btw, he only "fought" Luka because he knew he's much weaker than him, and then he ran away from some random IPC cops (who wouldn't have arrested him anyways because the Luofu clearly don't consider him a criminal, and they probably wouldn't allow the IPC to just arrest people on their territory). I'm not making this up, he literally says it himself:
Boothill: This kid (Yanqing) is young, but he's got some serious skills. Facing him will take too long and there's no guarantee of winning. It ain't worth gettin' caught by those forkin' IPC hounds over a competition.
So "I don't want to try and kill that kid because he can actually win". Our hero, everybody.
I mean, I'm not the only one who sees this, right? Again, it's very possible that I'm missing something important, and it all makes sense. Is he supposed to be a coward as well as a cold-blooded murderer? I don't believe that. It looks like a terrible slander of Boothill by the game's writers. Is everybody okay with it?
7. This whole confrontation kind of makes sense as the lowest point in Luka's story until you look closer. Getting to their lowest point is an important part of a hero's journey, but it usually happens in the beginning, indicating the need for the hero to change and grow, or in the end, as a test. But it happens in the middle. And it kind of doesn't change anything much?.. He gets over it and just continues competing.
The kind of character our hero loses to is also very important. It might be a mindless goon or a "for me it was Tuesday" type of villain, unrlated to our guy in any way, allowing the story to concentrate on the hero's journey. Or the antagonist's personality might be important for the story, highlighting their personal relationship with the hero or their conflicting ideologies; our hero overcoming the antagonist not only physically but mentally too, probably allowing them both to grow.
But it's neither. Boothill isn't a faceless goon, he's a complex character, a protagonist of his own tragic story. Their ideologies or goals don't clash (other than the serfuce level "I want to win this competition"). They don't have any personal history either. Boothill just appears, attempts to murder Luka, and basically disappears from the story.
8. Speaking of, you know what would be great? If instead of threatening Luka and then shooting him point blank, they actually talked. If Boothill had some character development by realizing that other people's struggles might be more important than his own pursuit of revenge sometimes. I mean, Luka was literally fighting to save his planet.
But instead, it feels like the writers just used Boothill as a tool in Luka's story, ruining him in the process.
9. Okay I'll shut up now. I'm too wordy and anal retentive. I just needed to get it out of my system. But I could go on and on. The more I think about it, the more problems I see. Like, why was their confrontation clearly styled after a classical cowboy standoff when only one of them had a gun? It makes no sense. Why did the journalists and fans have problems with Boothill's gun after the match? Didn't we just fight Topaz and her goons, who use guns too? Why wasn't it a problem then? Why did Luka faint after shielding himself from the bullet? I don't think he was wounded. And if he was wounded seriously enough to faint, then how did he manage to recover fast enough for the next match? Especially considering that the Luofu's healthcare mostly consists of feeding people normal food and giving them pets. Speaking of which, what was that dialog with Natasha in the beginning? Is he also terminally ill?… And why was Boothill borderline abelist about Luka's prosthetic arm? Yes, it was IPC branded at this point, but it's not like he just hates everything related to the IPC. He's basically good friends with Aventurine, and he had no problems sharing a small ship with Topaz and Jade. Btw, despite HSR being as vague about characters' ages as possible, it's kind of implied that Luka's underaged ("The tea served there isn't suitable for someone his age", "That red-head boy is actually… Luka from Belobog?" and so on). Boothill nearly killed a (probably) actual child in cold blood. A kid from a planet that just nearly survived IPC's military invasion. What were the writers thinking???

I wrote a whole ass essay for Philza now Im gonna do it for Jaiden. In defense of the lack of content with Jaiden in it (real quick). Being an old goat of fandoms I can explain it (don't worry this won't take long and also it plays into her character's overarching narrative of a grieving mother.) Plain in simple women in Minecraft are notorious for getting shit on by the collective fandom. (Everyone has to take part in making sure that it stops happening.) She is mainly a YouTuber which makes a dissonance between mainly youtube viewers and Twitch watchers. So it's harder to catch her just because you have to go to another site. Also, she doesn't stream as often as everyone else. This makes for a lack of content, just because Jaiden is just a low-key person. This is the recipes for a lack of content BUT that does not excuse people who are being weird to her or think she's in the way of any ships etc etc.
BUT
Narratively speaking all of those things above make for perfect storytelling. (below the cut I go deep into Jaiden character I mean I go DEEP)
Even though Jaiden has the support of the whole island. At the end of the day- she goes back to that same house. Climbs to the very top and she fall asleep on the chair facing the sunset. This means that everyone else has moved on, especially Roier. She is forever stuck in that same place.
I can't be the only one who noticed every single stream, she logs out at the house. BY HERSELF (I think Roier built? Someone corrects me if I'm wrong.) It's so subtle that you wouldn't even notice it at first.
When asked where she was living by Etolies. She doesnt say her and roier house, she doesn't even say where bobby use to live. She specifically says " I am squating in Roier old house". She puts herself on the outskirts of what is further from the truth. Shes not squating in roier house im 100% sure Roier shares everything with her. It is her home too!
Next when it came to the marriage between cellbit and Roier. She was surprised that she was even invite. Its as if as soon as Bobby died all her friendships and relationships died with him. No matter how many people are around her she has this ice wall of isolation and deep lonely-ness.
Her grieiving is less theratical than Charlies its so sudtle that you can miss it. While Roier throw himself into drink and into a relationship. (Which has admitedly worked out in his favor. He gets a husband a new son, a world of love. Something that can lessen the sting of Bobbys death.)
Jaiden on the other hand threw herself into a a impossible task, "protect the eggs." She doesn't know anything about any group or fractions. That is her only wish and the federation saw that and picked her to use. She has nothing everyone else has seemingly moved on of course. They haven't stopped investigating but they death of Bobby mostly everyone has moved on. Besides Jaiden this is her driving force so no one will suffer like she did. (on a side note her and Charlie should team up for lore and to both work for the federations.)
ITS PREFECT! Oh are you greiving has everyone else seemingly moved on? Your friendly neighborhood bear has a book full of instructions. Don't think, I'll guide you.
Before it fell apart the federation was going to secretly use Jaiden and she was going to do everything alone. But because Jaiden can't keep a secret to save her life. This leads to everyone realizing how at risk Jaiden is at being used. They are all with her in an instant. But part of her character is now that she sides with the Fedration and no one sees it yet. While everyone else think they are the bad guy. Her story is shifting because cucurucho is there, because cucurucho is nice to her, because Jaiden is cucurucho favorite.
She is being drawn in whether she knows it or not to be om their side. Think of it this way-
Fit is team: Spy thats off the island
Cellbit and Crew are team: AntiFederation
Jaiden the one that is left alone is the perfect choice to slowly pull her onto the federation side. It's perfect! The self isolation, the want to connect but feeling like she can't. It would be so easy for someone to take advantage of that.

BACKSTORY!!
tw: emotional/mental abuse, neglect of child, suicide/death
-- Read at your own expense! --
Haven's childhood was. Unfortunate to say the least. Their father passed young due to health issues and sickness, though he was happy being there for at least two years.
After that it was just Haven and their mother. Who didn't know how to raise a boy. For years, she did try to be a good mother, she tried to love Haven and raise a healthy boy, but at the cost of her own sanity, and at some point she started breaking and falling apart.
It very quickly lead to emotional and mental abuse. Their mother was a mess, and she would constantly take out her emotions on Haven.
- Though she would never physically due something, the yelling and everything... It wasn't good. She was always greiving, and Haven was mostly just left alone for far too long as their mother would lock herself in her room constantly..
Haven was 11 when that changed. When the neglect and emotionsl abuse had come to an end. Because her mother had gotten so unstable, and due to the terrible smell that had come from the house- Neighbors assumed it was just hording, but when someone came to check on the two...
Haven had been left alone with their mothers slowly rotting corpse, as she hung from a noose... As she was written in a note; Sorry for being a bad mother, and willing to go away so Haven didn't deal with her anymore.
Haven at that point, just eventually moved around houses until being placed with their not much better grandparents! The place they lived in was filthy, and just disgusting. Haven was only there for a year, until eventually, almost at the age of thirteen-- ran away.
--> Haven had met Cas and [Spirit] when they were 7, they were best friends, as well as <spirits younger sister> ...They were close, and when haven ran away, they went to [Spirit] because they were closer..
Haven eventually moved in with [Spirit's] parents... Sister. Who was sweet. and absolutely adoring of Haven. She was there even when around fourteen, Haven started messing with their identity.
They wanted to be more. They saw girls wear dresses, and they wanted to do that too... For a year (14-15) they thought they may have been a girl! Where- Haven's name came from. It wasnt always Haven, but legally they had changed it finding their previous name.. Didnt feel right for them.
Around 16, they finally landed on their identity; Nonbinary. They felt both genders, and in a way neither at the same time. Yet the name Haven, they still loved.
By this time, Haven and Cas also got into a relationship- Nothing too serious, started platonic as they were both uncertain of their feelings.
...They had been 16 for 135 days, before the withering happened. They lost their new loving and caring mother, as she protected them. As she saved them, when the world around broke.
Haven and Cas got seperated when getting saved by morality... Both believed the other to be dead. For a while.
When being saved by morality, Haven was brought to somewhere unfamiliar. A field of flowers, yet, nothing felt real. All that layed ahead of them was a cursed mask.
They never would be a god, had they never touched the mask- But no matter...
They were 18 when they finally were able to leave, when they finally could control the abilities they had now... Which they hated- And instantly their goal became finding out what happened to Cas.
It only took a few months for them to be reunited, able to walk the same land, hug again... And for once- Kiss.
Eventually they'd meet up with some of the others too. Which brings the end... To the start of a beginning.
There are holes and gaps in what happened as they became god. All thats known is that it wasn't easy. Especially knowing how long it took to be ALLOWED to leave.... but they know their role now. -R

okay caught up ish. anyways my thoughts. mostly qjaiden because im cutepluto hi im cutepluto
-this will have affects on the jaiden. oh my god. they gave all the greiving parents another child. hello???
-jaiden who is still drowning in grief over her dead child, who becomes affectionate too easily and tried to be friends with a disembodied voice giving her materials for a barbie dream house, who is drowning in grief, who feels a comfort in a conditional relationship with others, who is drowning in grief, oh god how this will affect her
-i dont even think this is an explicitly malicious act on cucus part unto her. all grieving parents were given an egg. and it all looked unplanned on his part, like umm what do i do with all these guys i found. the defanging of cucuruchos evilness in favor of portraying him as a bumbling idiot piece of upper management sucks ass but thats kind of a wider issue that warrants its own post, i digress.
-nevertheless, an opportunity to manipulate jaiden further has been handed to him on a silver platter, and im interested in seeing what hell do and tell her from here. he protected the eggs, he saved them all, and even got a new one for her. how kind and definitely intentional!
-jaiden will LOVE empanada. she loves the eggs so fiercely. but i know she has a lot of parents compared to bobby, and all the other parents have been desperate for an egg for months. i have to wonder if jaiden will choose to fade into the background, already knowing she had a chance, and failed, and want to give others the opportunity. shes very used to these days falling into the distant relative role, delegating the joy of having an egg to others. well have to see i guess.
---
-its good they have a german npc now thats nice but im rather sad people like bagi were just not handed a child that can speak their language theyre most confortable with. finding people who could comfortably speak all language the parent does sounds hard but this also leads into my next point-
-why is there an only girl group. they have one collective superficial thing in common i guess, whatever. ironmouse should have been with the spanish speaking egg.
-im rather interested in how parent dynamics will turn out. all eggs before were handed out to encourage cooperation between near strangers and those of other languages. and this time there are well established dynamics between all parents.

Same anon with that whole "bit" thing. As a fellow Solar simp, your feelings are totally valid. Solar even had to repeatedly say "He was literally going to kill me" regarding the Monty from his dimension. Honestly, the only lighthearted question in that entire podcast was "how do you feel about coffee?" And probably the whole bald thing.
But can I just say that when I heard Solar say that he learned the toxic masculinity from the Barbie movie, I am 100% sure that Earth got him to watch with her because I don't think he would watch it otherwise on his own. And it made me think of how underappreciated the fact that Earth has a really good influence on Sun, Moon, Lunar, and Solar with regards to, you know, the experiences of women, patriarchy, and such. I might sound stupid right now and I know there are people who will eye-roll this but I believe Earth being unapologetically feminine in a "household" full of men is a great thing.
The other lighthearted question was about anime, but that was fairly ruined.
Puppet could have had an anime buddy and blew it cus of Monty.
(and my 15 year old self is just crying cus Solar doesn't like naruto. ;w; But also as a naruto fan... Like... I GET IT.. I totally get it)
But yeah. Solar's whole podcast felt like an interrogation, at least compared to the others. So I wouldn't be too shocked if Monty just hates Solar's guts off the grounds that he's an Eclipse.
And yeah, he mostly watched the Barbie Movie with Earth. Like Earth has literally made everyone watch the Barbie movies with her. (long term hyperfixations for the win)
And yes, I like that Earth is unapologetically feminine. It's one of her best features! I honestly think that by Solar's definition, that would define Old Moon as Toxically Masculine as well in a way. Since he insisted on doing things on his own and he had to be the one to "save" his brother. Moon had to be the strong and smart one, Sun had to be the dumb and happy one to keep him happy.
And Old Moon I don't think did that maliciously. (maybe sometimes) but I do think he genuinely loved Sun.
Earth has really been a positive influence on Sun when he was greiving, Moon, as he was just coming into himself as a new person, and Lunar who revived from the dead. Earth was also very helpful in making Solar feel welcomed in this dimension. (so fuck off Monty really. Your GF likes Solar here.)
Sun and Moon properly communicating with eachother, and Sun actually having a lot better coping mechanisms are a direct result of Earth's influence.
Sun is even healthy to the point out in Castor faults in himself and then direct those coping techniques he learned outwards to help other people.
And that is 100% due to Earth's influence, empathy and femineity.
Earth is great honestly.

Reyna remembers the day she joined Camp Jupiter.
The day she and her sister split up, one heartfelt goodbye and to keep in touch before making their own paths.
Reyna had loved Hylla, she still does. But it was time for her to put down her own roots and grow out of her sisters shadow.
Camp Jupiter was where she made her mark.
Back than it had felt so huge and now it was suffocating.
She hadn't been completly naive, not after the life she'd led.
But Reyna remembers, emnbarssingly being one of the star struck new recruits.
The same she now terrorised with ease.
Jason had always admonished her for it but she knew he enjoyed it too.
Octavian was always at her side ready to freak them out.
Jason would shake his head but his smile was always fond.
Things had changed since than.
The Camp was different now and Reyna would lie if she said she hadn't changed with it.
They all had.
Reyna never thought she'd leave.
None of them ever had.
And while they'd say it was out of loyalty, for a vow of a life time service.
The real answer was simply, she had no where else to go.
Jason had been sent here at 3 years old.
And Octavian had always planned to stay here.
This was their home.
This had been their home.
Reyna knelt down, cleaning up the weeds and throwing the dying flowers in a heap.
Planting yellow roses and lilies, dividing them up equally between them both.
"I'm sorry I took so long this time."
The paperwork was filled, a rucksack sat beside her.
The planting was suprisingly therapeutic as she told them about her plans.
"I think your sister might give me a run for my dracmas." She teased, she could imagine the soft smile on Jason's face in agreement.
Jason always looked happy when she thought of him.
Reyna hoped he was.
She regretted never looking for him, knowing better than most he would have searched for her.
Reyna mused quietly if that was why she and Octavian had been at odds.
They were both people of passion, of biting remarks and sullen silences.
They were both stubborn, even if it hurt they were both prideful and never backed down.
Jason had been their bridge when their personalities clashed.
She hadn't cared who had seen her break when his body was carried in.
Instinctively she'd reached for Octavian.
Before remembering he was already gone.
Reyna hated saying it but she took his death worse.
At least when Jason had died, people greived.
She held no ill will for Nico, but her heart broke all the same when she found out.
It didn't stop either of their graves from being vandalised.
She broke the culprits arm in 4 places before anyone intervened.
Didn't stop it happening again.
At this point Reyna didn't read the cruel words, she only cleaned them off and committed their original states to memory.
Hazel and Frank had promised to tend to them in her absence, she hadn't even had to ask.
It touched her that they cared.
The others did too, apparently thinking fondly of blonde haired boys who'd been deemed traitors wasn't a new thing.
"This isn't goodbye forever, but it is for now."
Reyna rested her head on each of the stones.
Running a finger through their names.
She doesn't know how far partial immortality will take her but she wants to be buried here when it's over.
Reyna had lived life too long alone, she cared for those around her but no one could ever replace them.
Letting a stray tear fall, she grabbed her bag and left.
She didn't look back but imagined that they were behind her.
Together as they deserved to be, waving her goodbye as she stepped into a new chapter of her life.
