[Katsuki Bakugo x Reader]
a/n} guess who's back with a new chapter B) if you want to be added to the taglist just lmk!!!
(Also!! Please reblog + like!! It would really mean a lot to me !! <33)
Prologue, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
- [ Y/n L/n - Quirk: Water, She can manipulate any amount of water through the different states of matter and bend it to her will. She appears to have no limit to how much she can move ]
(Y/n) always wanted to become a hero. She had been training for it ever since she was young. Her quirk sounds simple but can be very dangerous, and when in use it takes constant focus to command it. However, ever since a dangerous incident in her childhood, her quirk hasn't been the same. Despite it all, she remains hopeful that she can grow to be a powerful Pro-Hero. Nothing will stand in her way.
Except, something does.
Someone by the name of Katsuki Bakugo.
-
TW] None
That morning, You awoke especially early.
You wish you could say it was because you woke up incredibly energized, or that you had to do some extra training, or you needed to finish going over the syllabi before the school day officially started or something as regular as that.
The truth was, You woke up early because today it was raining.
You've always loved the rain. Watching thunderstorms during warm summer nights was your favorite activity when you were younger. You and your parents would sit out on the patio and stare into the evening sky, just enjoying the view and experiencing it together. Everytime it storms, you can recall those happy memories.
Part of you also wondered if it was because of your quirk that you loved the rain. Water droplets are easy to control in mass amounts, you had experimented making rain yourself multiple times. But just walking around, letting the water hit your face and just feeling everything around you felt incredible. Obviously you could see and feel the world perfectly fine, but during rainy days it's like your senses become heightened and you could feel the world in an entirely new way. It was an incredible feeling.
You loved the rain.
As you finished buttoning your blazer, you rushed out of your room and grabbed your bag off the floor by the stairs. You paused at the doorway and glanced over to your mom’s empty reclining chair.
‘She’ll probably be sleeping most of today.’ You thought to yourself. ‘More time to train tonight then.’ And with that, you pushed open the door.
The sun was just beginning to rise, although it was hard to tell through the grey clouds. The dreary day couldn't damper your mood though, and you skipped happily along the sidewalk while jumping into the occasional puddles.
As you carried on through your neighborhood, you eventually reached the road that took you into the main part of town, away from the residential houses.
That was where you saw him.
The blond boy, Bakugo, was angrily stomping through the rain not caring for the people who walked past him. He was wearing normal sweats, backpack in hand and the most peculiar thing of them all; He wasn't holding an umbrella.
‘Maybe he forgot one.’ You pondered, crossing the sidewalk to his part of the street. ‘That would explain why he’s mad right now, but then again, it seems like he's always this mad…’ You remembered something interesting your mother had mentioned last night though, about angry people, that is.
~
“That one boy, Bakugo.” You began, and your mother inclined her head towards you. “He said that this other boy, Midoriya, in my class was quirkless, but I’m not too sure. He launched the softball farther than his explosion, his finger was injured pretty bad though. You should've seen his face Mama, Bakugo seemed really upset. They must have a super dramatic past.” You giggled.
“Naiad.” You mother chastised. “Don't go chasing stories from someone you've never spoken to.”
“I dunno Mama.” You rolled your eyes. “He was really violent yesterday, he almost blew off Mina’s face just to get a uniform. I don't want to be talking to someone that angry.”
Your mother leaned over and smacked you on the back of your head. With a yelp you instinctively covered your face and bent towards the floor.
“I raised you better (Y/n).” Your mother tutted. “You better treat your classmates with the kindness they deserve, including the angry boy.” You leaned back up and looked at your mother’s warm face.
“Mama—”
“Naiad, sometimes angry people have a lot going on with little ways of expressing it. Don't be so quick to judge your peers. Why don't you talk to him and be a shoulder to lean on? I'm sure he'd really appreciate it.”
~
A shudder ran down your spine just thinking about it.
‘Mama, he's probably going to kill me if I even talk to him…’
But, against your better judgment, You raised your arm up and yelled out,
“Hey, Bakugo! Wait up!”
…And he didn't turn around.
‘Okay so much for that.’ You could practically hear your mother scolding you for giving up, so you started jogging to catch up to him.
“Excuse me, it's rude to ignore people.” You slowed down as you came up next to him, plastering a smile onto your face. “I’m (Y/n), in case you didn't remember…from yesterday. You kind of threatened me but that’s okay!” You stuck out your hand awkwardly to him.
“I don't care what your name is.” Bakugo spat out, pushing past you. “Leave me alone.”
“Well, I noticed you didn't have an umbrella.” You jogged to the other side of him. “And so, since we’re in the same class I thought I'd be nice and help you out! Especially since you’re… soaked. And it’s raining.” He rolled his eyes and slung his bag over his back, nearly hitting you in the process.
‘Mama give me strength.’ You thought bitterly. ‘This was so easy yesterday with Mina and Tsu, why is he being such a dick?!’ As Bakugo got further away, an idea crossed your mind.
‘Okay, I'll just show him what I mean, then he'll be more inclined to be nice to me since I’ll be helping him out.’
As easy as lifting a finger, you reached out to the water that soaked his clothes and the rain that fell around him, and lifted it high to create a little shield. The water obeyed, and swept into the shape of a dome over his head. Bakugo stopped, quickly feeling around him, his clothes, and then looking up to the sky. His back twitched and he turned to face you, a fire blazing in his red eyes.
“You're welcome.” You smiled, trying to put all of your positive energy into it. “Isn't this so much better?”
“Do your ears not fucking work?! I don't need your help, you damned fish. I'm fine the way I am!” He yelled and walked faster ahead of you, the dome following him.
You thought about dropping the water back onto him and carrying on with your day.
Like really, really, thought about it.
But, like a saving grace you plastered your smile back on and ran back to Bakugo, who was now stopped at a crosswalk sign.
“Okay so we’ve really gotten off the wrong foot.” You began. “I'm sorry that I stepped in like this, I just wanted to help you since we’re, y’know.. classmates. But if you don't want it that's perfectly fine.” Bakugo stopped and begrudgingly faced you.
“Get rid of the dome, and fuck off.” He threatened, staring intently into your eyes. “I don't need to know your name and I don't need your stupid help, so stop following me you bastard.”
‘See mama, I told you so.’ You thought bitterly, but you refused to let your smile drop in front of him.
“Okay! That’s all you had to say!”
‘He could've said that any nicer but I guess that's just impossible for him.’
You reached your hand up high, making a grand show of dissipating the dome over his head. And while you thought about dumping the water straight onto him, you just decided to toss it into the street. The rain immediately latched onto him, spiky hair falling flat and soaking his clothes.
With a smile still on your face, you pushed the opposite crosswalk button and walked to the other side of the road, not bothering to look back at him. Once you finished crossing the street, you let the false smile finally fall.
‘I try to be nice to him and he just ruins my day.’ A spark of rage burned in your chest at your dampening mood and you no longer felt like enjoying the morning rain.
~
The sun was now higher in the sky and you decided it was finally time to walk into the school. While your encounter with Bakugo had left a sour taste in your mouth, you had let off some steam by messing around with the rain. Now, you were revitalized and ready to be at school once again.
“Goodmorning (Y/n)!” Tsu greeted you as you walked through the door. She was sitting at her desk, notebooks already placed on the table.
“Goodmorning, Tsu!” You smiled and took your seat next to her, shoving your bag under your desk. “How has your day been?”
“It was alright, I'm glad I didn't forget my umbrella today, I would've had to take the train instead of walking.”
“Yeah, I get what you mean.” You looked out of the windows to see the gray clouds still rolling overhead. “I wonder when the weather's going to clear up, the report said it was supposed to be sunny today.” Part of you wanted to reach out to the skies and rip the clouds away, pulling the moisture to anywhere but overhead. But you learned a long time ago how dangerous messing with the weather was.
As more of your classmates settled in for the day, you and Tsu continued to idly chat until Mina came in and joined you. She had also gotten caught outside in the rain this morning, on account of getting out of bed a little later than she wanted.
“This is just my luck, I have to run to school in the rain and I’m pretty sure I left my lunch at home.” Mina slumped onto her desk and sighed, the water from her hair dripping onto the floor.
“I might be able to help.” You commented, raising your right arm. “I mean, I can pull the water out of your clothes and hair so that way you're not sopping wet all day.”
“REALLY?!” Mina shot up in her desk. “(Y/N) THAT WOULD BE AMAZING PLEASE HELP ME PLEEEAAASE!!!” You and Tsu giggled at her overreaction, and you raised both of your arms to gently grab the water from Mina. The droplets complied easily, and within five seconds you had collected all of the water. Mina brushed through her hair and patted down her uniform.
“I'm all dry!” Mina exclaimed while twirling in a circle. “That was so amazing and kind of you, thank you so much (Y/n)!!!”
As she continued to thank you, a familiar blond head of hair walked into the room behind her. Bakugo was now wearing his UA uniform, and he looked dry for the most part. Upon seeing Mina’s twirling and gleeful cheers, he glanced over to you and immediately glared down at the water in your hands. With a scoff, he walked right on by and headed to his seat.
“You don't have to keep thanking me, Mina, it was really no trouble at all.” You smiled and swirled the water through the air. Now you just had to get rid of it before class started. Evaporating water was tricker for you to control, it took a lot of frustration to even get water to boil, but you didn't really have anywhere to put the rainwater so…
You thought back to your morning, and how hard you tried to be kind to Bakugo but he only insulted you and blew you off. You could feel the heat rising in your face and the water started shaking where you held it. As you focused on that spark burning in your chest, the water turned to a cloud of air and you were left empty handed. Tsu placed her finger on her chin and looked over to you.
“I get it now, (Y/n), your quirk allows you to manipulate water through the different phases, right?” You looked over to her bashfully, letting the spark fizzle out.
“Yeah that's pretty much it!” You laughed. “Only water though, so water-adjacent stuff like teas and sodas are off of the table.”
“That's still a powerful quirk.” She commented. “Moving water through matter that quick is a versatile skill to have! You'd make a great hero!”
“You as well, Tsu!” You smiled at her and she grinned back.
Just as Mina was about to pipe in, a familiar yellow sleeping bag shuffled into the room.
“Good morning, class.” Mr. Aizawa mumbled from under the fabric. “Today we’ll cover the contents in the syllabus. So go ahead and pull out your notebooks…”
~
The school day had gone by in a blur.
Your English classes with Present Mic were boring, as most of your class wasn't proficient in grammar and sentence structure. Yaoyorozu, however, carried everyone through the period.
During lunch, you had sat with Tsu and Mina, discussing your future classes and enjoying the Lunch Rush food that was provided. To put it simply, nothing special had happened for the entire day.
That is, until your very last class of the day.
“I AM HERE!” A hulking figure sped into the classroom and gave a dramatic pose. “COMING INTO THE ROOM LIKE A HERO!” The familiar sign of golden bunny ears made your heart leap into your throat. As the blue cape fell away, your classmates let out a collective gasp.
“Woah, All-Might’s really a teacher here?”
“He's so awesome! I love UA!!”
“This year’s going to be so cool!!”
“IS THAT HIS SILVER AGE COSTUME?! OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!!!!”
You could feel your heart pounding as you stared up at your teacher. You were really here. Now. In the flesh. Staring at the very symbol of peace who saved your life all those years ago.
‘I wonder if he remembers me?’
“Welcome students! To the most important class you'll have here at UA High!” He boomed, and gleefully placed his hands on his hips. “This is your standard Hero-101 class! I will be teaching you the basics of being a Pro.” Everyone listened with rapt attention as All-Might scribbled a couple notes on the board.
“The lesson I've prepared will be difficult, young students. Today will be all about combat training! But before we begin, can anyone tell me what one of the most important part of being a hero is?”
Iida shot his hand into the air, nearly throwing himself out of his seat. “Sir, of course the most important part of being a hero is saving people!”
“Correct! Mostly!” All-Might gave a thumbs up. “The key part of being a hero is your appearance! Your costume identifies you to the people, assuring them that they are safe when they see your emblem!” He pushed a button under the desk and the left wall of the classroom rolled out, revealing numbered cases one through twenty-one.
“Now, you all submitted quirk registration forms before the year began, yes? Based on your form, we created costumes from the designs you submitted!” Your classmates gleefully cheered to one another and Mina turned to smile back at you and Tsu, a sparkle in her eyes.
“We’re gettin our costumes!!” She squealed, pumping her first into the air.
“Once you’re suited up, meet me at Training Ground Beta!” All-Might commanded.
“Yes sir!” You all said in unison.
Everyone gleefully stood up and rushed over to the left side of the classroom. However, not wanting to create a repeat of yesterday, you hung back in the back and just decided to wait.
‘I wonder if they made any modifications to my suit?’ You pondered, watching as the people towards the front were gleefully opening their cases. ‘That would be really inconvenient… I made everything on the sheet pretty specific.' As you grabbed your numbered case and left for the changing rooms, curiosity shivered down your spine and when you finally unlatched your case, your heart nearly exploded in excitement.
“(Y/n) is that your costume?” Tsu asked, unfolding a green body suit out of the case.
“Yeah, hopefully everything’s in order."” You laughed nervously Tsu moved to sit on the bench while you started putting on your costume.
When you were first designing your costume, you wanted to pay homage to your parents’ costumes during their golden days. Your father was on the simple side, combat scuba gear and jets fashioned onto the feet to propel him through water. Your mother, on the other hand, was more flashy and stylistic with her costume choice. So you modeled certain aspects off her costume for the glamor moments.
The shirt itself was a plain long sleeved shirt, but the spine was elevated and armored, being modeled after the pointed spikes like a lionfish would have. These spikes followed along to your elbows, laying aerodynamically towards your back. The spikes themselves were removable which was useful for battle, however, you'd have to individually retrieve them if you wanted to use them again.
Your pants were relatively simple, baggy and lightweight for you to easily move around in. They had a plethora of pockets to store first-aid capsules and other necessary trinkets for being a pro-hero. But the most important thing about them were the bags.
As you buckled your belt you were left with four empty bobbles in the case. They laid flat and compressed, being squished at the bottom of the case. You walked over to the sinks and began filling each individual capsule until it looked like it couldn't hold water anymore. The point of these was to solve the simple problem your quirk could be useless in. If you weren't close enough to water. But these capsule can eject and contain close to 1 gallon of water each which would be more than enough for you to fight with. Once they were filled, you attached them to the holders on the sides of your thigh and walked over to the mirrors. With that, your costume was complete.
You looked…good.
A sense of confidence rolled through you and you grinned as you twirled around in the mirror. The spikes made you feel threatening, and hearing them rattle as you walked made you feel even more powerful.
“Wow (Y/n)!” Tsu commented behind you. Glancing over your shoulder, you met her kind smile “I don't know why you were so worried, it looks incredible!”
“Thank you, Tsu! I love your costume, it's very fitting to your quirk!!”
“Yeah I just wanted something that felt like me, plus the goggles are really useful!”
“I’m readyyyy!!” Mina called from around the corner, and stopped upon seeing you. She was wearing a cheetah-print bodysuit which complimented her hair and skin color perfectly. “WOW!!! (Y/n) you look so baddass!! And Tsu ohmygosh you're so adorable I'm going to start crying!!!” She sniffled and placed her hands on her face. “I LOVE BEING AT UA!!” She squealed.
You and Tsu laughed at Mina and ran to her side for a quick group hug. She rubbed her eyes but quickly started fanning her face.
“I'm all good!” She reassured. “Sorry, I'm just so excited!!”
“You should save that energy for the training today.” You joked and started walking towards the door, Tsu and Mina following close behind. “Who knows what All-Might has planned for us out there.”
As you all exited the changing rooms, you spotted a couple of the guys in your class walking ahead further down the hallway. One with spiky red hair, the other with golden blond, and the super tall guy wearing a mask. Mina suddenly started jumping up and down.
“Hey, Kirishima!! Wait up!!” She bounded down the hall to the group of boys. The spiky red hair boy turned around and you recognized him as the boy who defended you yesterday.
‘Oh, his name must be Kirishima. Obviously. I wonder how Mina knows him?’
“We should all walk together! Y’know, as a class!” Mina offered, motioning to you and Tsu as you both approached.
“Yeah that'd be awesome!” Kirishima grinned and held up a fist and looked at your other classmates. “What do you think, guys?”
"I think that's a good idea." The taller boy commented, glancing over at the three of you.
“Yeah sure, I don't see why not.” The golden-blond haired boy spoke up, and rested his hands behind his head. “Just try not to get too awestruck over my hero costume, ladies.” He added with a wink.
You struggled to contain your laugh as you followed at the back end of the group, walking next to Tsu. You soon learned that Kaminari was a major flirt, but he felt relatively harmless the more he chatted while you all walked together. Shoji was more reserved, and didn't comment much the whole walk there. You just assumed that he preferred to watch the group talk.
But by the time you all reached Ground Beta, you were all giggling and cracking jokes with one another. The air felt light and you could feel your face hurting from smiling so much.
‘See Mama,’ You thought. 'I don't have to just be friends with rude people, these people are already perfect.'
-
“WELCOME, NEWBIES!!” All-Might boomed. He grinned at your class, lingering on Midoriya for a split second longer before clearing his throat. You glanced over to the boy, took in his costume, then looked back to All-Might, covering your grin.
'Someone's a fanboy.’ You giggled to yourself.
“Here is your situation, young students,” All-Might began. “The villains have hidden a nuclear missile within the confines of the building. The heroes must stop the villains’ plans by either capturing the missile, or capturing the villains with these bracelets.” He held up a white slap-on stick. “Similarly, the bad-guys will succeed if they manage to protect the weapon, or they capture the heroes instead.”
All-Might then pulled out a small box, decorated in the UA emblem.
“We will pick teams by drawing from lots, however one team will consist of one three of you- so whoever doesn't have a teammate will have to face the opposite side alone.”
“There must be a better way to divide our class!” Iida loudly protested. You looked to your left and saw a robot waving its arms up and down frantically.
‘Oh that's who that is.’ You realized. ‘He looks cool, kind of reminds me of Ingenium.’
“Heroes have to pair up with other agencies on the spot when danger arises.” All-Might lectured. “So by randomly drawing it creates a more realistic event!”
“Ah! Forgive me!” Iida bowed and your teacher just threw a thumbs up to him.
Everyone began drawing their papers from the box, eagerly joining with their teammates. You walked up and stuck your hand inside, rummaging around the papers. When you picked one, it read Team K.
You approached Mina and Tsu who were still looking around the class nervously.
“What'd you guys get?” You asked them.
“I got Team H.” Tsu said, holding out her paper to you.
“I’m Team E.” Mina quickly raised her arm and waved her paper. “IS ANYONE ELSE TEAM E?!?!”
“That would be me, Mon Chéri.” A gentle voice behind you spoke and you nearly jumped out of your skin. A boy with bright blond hair and.. eccentric.. costume dazzled behind you, posing his hands by his face.
“Awesome!!” Mina grinned. “What's your name again?” The boy coughed but quickly recovered.
“I am the dazzling star of this night~ I am…. Yuga Aoyama.”
‘He seems…fun.’ You thought to yourself.
“Excuse me, are you Team H?” A deep voice questioned to your right, and you noticed a boy with a bird-like quirk had approached Tsu. "I am Tokoyami, I also drew an H."
She nodded and gave you a quick goodbye as she walked away with him, probably discussing their quirks.
As both of your friends walked off with their teammate a sudden chill went down your spine and you glanced around the room. Most of your classmates were paired up, leaving you the only one out.
‘Wait...do I not have a partner?!’

Marvolo x MC 🐍💚
Just a little NSFW thing 😌
Teasing and temping him was something she did often. Entering his office at the Den, she saw him deep into his paperwork, his eyes not even looking up towards the door as she walked in. She closed the door, locking it behind her, and made her way over to his side, a smirk curled onto her lips, leaning down and whispering his ear.
MC: I know you're working..But how do you feel about filling up this wet, little pussy right now?
She giggled. A shiver ran down Marvolos spine, raising a brow, putting down his pen, and looking up at her.
Marvolo: *low chuckle* Fucking hell...Quite a tempting offer.
He stood suddenly, his frame towering over hers and grabbing her hips to pull her into him. She could already feel his hardening cock, pushing against her.
MC: Hard already? *naughty smile*
Marvolo: How can I not be..After what you just whispered in my ear..
In a swift motion, he grabbed the back of her head, pushing her down onto his desk and bending her over it. A small gasp left her lips, a smirk falling onto his own.
With one hand on her head, still holding her down securely, his other reached under her skirt from behind, moving her panties aside, and sliding two fingers into her heat. A small moan pushed out of her throat, feeling his digits toying with her, feeling her out.
He took a moment to slide his slender fingers up against her sweet spot, moving them back and forth over it in a smooth rhythm, relishing in the little moans that escaped her. His hand that was in her hair slid down her back, and delivered a sharp spank to her ass, making her yelp.
Marvolo: How badly do you need my cock?
MC: Badly.
Marvolo: *clicks his tongue and chuckle lowly* I'm going to need more than that..
MC: *blushing* I..I need you..Please..Please, Volo.
A satisfied grin fell over his features as his eyes narrowed.
Marvolo: Good girl..
His fingers still worked her, his now free hand unbuckling his belt and undoing his trousers, letting his now leaking cock spring free. His fingers slipped out of her, bringing them up to his lips to taste her.
Marvolo: Mmmm. Fuck..
He delivered another hard slap to her cheek, causing another yelp to leave her. He took hold of his cock, rubbing it teasingly against her slit, pushing in the tip just enough to secure him before bringing his hands to her waist and gripping hold, his fingers digging into her flesh. Before she could process the feeling he began bucking his hips behind her. Instantly her eyes fluttered closed, her mouth slighlty agape, feeling his cock pounding in and out of her at a brutal pace from the get-go. He smirked down at her, the sounds of her loud cries and moans along with the creaking of the desk which violently moved in rhythm with his motions. After some time of being lost in this session, he heared the change in her breathing as she chased her climax, spurring him on to start chasing his own. He leaned over her body, placing his hands on the desk, making his length hit deeper as he continued to roll his hips against her. His low grunts now vibrating in her ear. The pair of them losing control of themselves in the moment. With a hard, final thrust he let out a deep moan, his cock pulsing, sending her over the edge. Her legs buckled beneath her, shaking slightly, a harsh cry leaving her lips throughout her own release.
Marvolo kissed at her shoulders and back as the pair came down from the high. She gave him a breathless giggle before he stood back up, letting out a satisfied sigh, tucking himself back into his trousers and sitting down on his desk chair once more, watching her as she adjusted her underwear and skirt. She looked at him, smirking slightly.
Marvolo: *charming smile* Will that hold you for now?
MC: For a little while *giggles*
Marvolo: *narrows his eyes and grins* As I said, it's only for now  *knowing look* I'll give you all of me when we get home..

For Father's Day:
"The One Decent Thing I Ever Did"
This is a monograph from 2015, previously posted here some time ago, a tale of my maternal grandmother, a below-zero winter night, the New York City subway West Side express during post-9/11, that mentions my father only in passing... and it's about my father.
THE ONE DECENT THING I EVER DID.
I.
A long time ago, during a time of struggle, I did one decent thing:
I'd just gotten on the subway in Midtown Manhattan on a brutal winter night, the No. 2 uptown express, when a couple with a small child boarded the car I was riding.
They were having a very loud conversation with their child (about four years old, I think) who was crying or somehow behaving in a way that was "bad". The mother took the belt from her jeans and raised her arm to strike her child with it.
Don’t ask me why I did this, but I rose from my seat, grabbed the mother’s arm mid-swing, and said, “As long as I am on this train, you will not hit that child with that belt.” She and the child’s father were stunned into silence for a moment as I made my way back to my seat.
Immediately after I sat down, the mother and father began leveling all kinds of vitriol my way, calling me every name in the book, including all the variations of “faggot” in use at the time. I just sat there, smiled wide, laughed loud, and shined ‘em on:
“You can call me ‘faggot.’ You can call me anything you like. Because every minute you focus on me, you are not beating that child with that belt.”
The crowded train car fell silent.
II.
Yuletide, 1982. I was in the service in Germany and took leave to see my grandmother in Florida. My grandfather had passed away the previous March, and something told me to seize the chance to see Grandma while she was still with us. I was only 20, born late in life to my parents, and never got to know my grandparents in the way my older brothers did.
We were in my Grandma's airy, air-conditioned Fort Lauderdale kitchen having coffee one morning when the rest of the family had gone out for breakfast. “Would you like a little pick-me-up in your cup, dear?” I laughed. “No thanks, Gramma, it's a little early for me.” The joys of Florida.
I'd had a rough upbringing by any measure - my father was first-gen shanty Irish born in the early 1920's with a mean spirit and a violent edge, mother not Irish but still violent - but at age 20 I hadn't yet realized just how rough it had been.
“You know,” I said to Grandma, “Harold and Evelyn did the best they could. I mean, I turned out all right, right?”
Grandma leaned back in her chair, took a nice drag off one of her unfiltered Camels, and said in her declarative New England way the words that always meant Listen up, you're about to hear gospel truth:
“Well, I'll tell ya, Joe.” I was all ears.
She took another hit off of her cigarette. “I held my tongue. More than once, I held my tongue.
“But one day, your mother and father were in the front yard with your grandfather and me, and I walked up to your father and said, “Harold, I just want to tell you something. It takes a real man to beat a child with a belt.”
...Wow.
I only wish she hadn’t held her tongue!
I sipped my coffee, looked for palmetto bugs on the lanai. “Grandma,” I said, “I'm all right.”
She looked away, and I saw the colors of the rainbow in the prism of her pendant.
III.
What was I doing on the 2 train heading uptown in the bitter blistering freezing cold New York winter?
Heading “home” – that is, to one of the many rundown firetrap SRO hotels paid by the City of New York to house homeless people with HIV. The City's AIDS regulations set the policy: if you showed up at the HIV center at 30th and 8th before 7 PM on a given day, New York City was obliged to find you housing for the same night and for the next 30 days in a row at the very least.
Strange - in those days, New York would house you but not feed you, and San Francisco would feed you but not house you. Come to think of it, that's the way it is these days.
My dank, filthy, crawling with roaches and vermin crack-house "shelter" was way uptown, near 96th and Broadway. (I had always dreamed about making it to Broadway, ha ha.)
96th Street and Broadway stop was next. The train car was still silent as the parents sat sullenly and the child - Jesus, he can't be older than 3 or 4 years old, I thought - was staring at me, no expression on his little face, but eyes wide as saucers.
The train screeched to a stop. I got up and headed to the door, passing the couple with the small child and the loose belt. They were silent and did not regard me as I passed; the child, I think, might have glanced at me, but I’m not sure. I knew that after I got off the train, or after they got off the train, that poor kid was probably going to get beaten. Severely.
Out the door and onto the bone-chilling platform at 96th Street. A young woman who had witnessed the mother wield that belt came up to me and said, “I’m so glad you did that, I wanted to say something, but I was too…” Her voice trailed off as the pained look on her face finished her thought.
“I understand,” I said to her as our eyes met in that New York way of speaking the unspeakable, then made my way up the stairs into the below-zero winter breezes of the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
What the hell, I thought as I made my way out of the station, I had nothing to lose. Those were dark times, desperate days. I'm no angel. But just once, on that long-ago Number 2 train, I was granted the grace to do one decent thing.

When Best Friends Meet - Part 1
8 year old Rebecca Fuller pouted angrily as she sat on a chair outside the principal's office. "It wasn't my fault that stupid brat got her nose broken. She shouldn't have been so mean in the first place." Rebecca grumbled under her breath. She knew she would get some trouble with her parents for breaking a kid's nose and nearly exposing her powers, but they wouldn't be as mad when they learned why their daughter did it. "Rebecca honey, people only get respect from you when they give it. There are times when violence is about the only solution you can give." Rebecca smiled at what her mother always told her. She was a good kind hearted woman but knew how to dish out a mean left hook herself when defending herself or others. Rebecca was brought out of her thoughts when she saw a boy with a bloody mouth walk to the chair next to her and sat down with it. He had a paper towel in his hand that was already becoming covered with blood as well. Rebecca winced in sympathy. 'Poor kid probably fell or got pummeled by a bully.' She usually didn't judge people by their appearances, but this kid was the definition of scrawny. He didn't' have any muscles and was only a few inches taller than Rebecca. He was wear brown shorts and a button up blue shirt coupled with a bow tie. This kid didn't look intimidating at all and couldn't even hurt a fly. Rebecca noticed to her surprise the boy wasn't crying or had any other bruises on his face nor arms. He was just sitting their patiently, minding his own business as he stared at his shoes. Rebecca's curiosity soon got the better of her so she decided to talk to the kid. "So did you already go to the nurse's office yet?" Rebecca asked. The boy seemed startled by Rebecca's voice and turned to face his seatmate with a confused expression. "What?" The boy asked. "I said, did you already go to the nurse's office before you came here?" Rebecca asked again. The boy just blinked at her, still looking confused. "I never went to the nurse's office. I'm not sick or hurt." The boy explained. This time it was Rebecca's turn to be confused. "Huh? The how did you get all that blood on your mouth?" Rebecca inquired. The boy seemed to hesitate before he responded. "I bit a kid's finger off and their blood squirted on my mouth." The kid explained in a low tone. Rebecca's eyes widened. "What? There is no way you were able to bite kid's finger off." Rebecca exclaimed, very doubtful of what she was hearing. Before the boy could respond, he began to cough violently. Rebecca began to panic as the boy seemed to be trying to hack something up, as if he was choking on something. Quickly, Rebecca hit the boy on his back not too hard, but hard enough to help him spit out whatever he was choking on. It worked as the boy spit something out mid-cough which landed on the floor near their feet. Rebecca's eyes now became wide as saucers as she saw a severed finger covered with saliva lying flat on the ground. The boy turned to look at Rebecca with an unbothered expression. He shrugged as if saying "I told you." There was a tense moment of silence before Rebecca found her voice. "Holy cow you really bit off someone's finger!" She whispered in stunned amazement. The boy just gave a slight nod. "Yep." He casually replied. Rebecca looked at the boy with a determined expression. "How in the world did you bite someone's finger off?" She demanded wanting answers. The boy fidgeted a bit, he had a slight stormy look as he recalled the incident. "I didn't mean to bite the kid's finger off. They were being a bully, making fun of my appearance. I tried ignoring them. They then called me a bad word. They said I was this bad word because I had two dads. That their own parents said my dads and I were this bad word as well as disgusting. I got so angry I bit there finger. I think I bit too hard." The boy grumbled with an angry expression. "I only bite people that make me mad and that kid really made mad. The teacher didn't see what happened just heard the kid screaming his head off." @melodythebunny @erraticeris

IM SENDING IN AN ASK ABOUT ROSASTAR AND ELLALI JAVING A TALK
I have come
While the kids were away, the couples were walking towards the empty council room where they could finally catch up after all those years. Rosalyn, however had to stop and call out to Alistar whenever she saw something new to her sights. Her husband may be breaking things once in a while while having his tempers, but he still valued her happiness overall.
She knew Alistar had a good heart, but she knew it also changes. Like a restless tide, untamable. It was magical when he came into her life, but knowing his reputation as a power-hungry tyrant king, she knew that along him a storm could come too. He'd either raise her high or let her fall, drag her down as quickly as he could lift her.
But then she took his hand and promised to withstand any form of blaze, famines he would blow her way. Like she was made of stone, something solidified inside her, and she knew she'd always stay beside him. No matter his flaws, or his tempers, how stone-hearted people made him out to be, she stood by him like she had a heart of stone.
And it was not because she was scared, or naive, or weak. It was because she loved him, and she knew he loved her too.
Rosalyn looked at her husband, who seemed like he was stressing out about something. She couldn't exactly figure out why he looked like he'd been trapped inside a room he never had a choice to be on. She almost asked him if he needed anything to ease his perceptible anxious behavior, not until queen Ella had sat down with her husband.
"This room was even more different that it was." Alistar began, before pulling out a chair for his wife. Rosalyn smiled at the gesture, and sat down with her husband beside her.
Elias, in all of this, never bothered to look at the Brennans. As if he would want to speak with them. He wanted to save his time, and the oxygen he wouldn't want to waste on a viscious, violent monster.
"After my father had died, I figured we give the entire castle a different class and style. Don't you think it looks like a breath of fresh air? I was just thinking that maybe you needed some, for I know you haven't lived in it ever since.." Ella replies. "Looks less of a prison room, does it not, old friend?"
Rosalyn turned her head to Alistar, who was tense. She didn't know if he wanted to shut queen Ella up, or that he wanted to get out of the room and avoid the conversation.
"Prison room? I don't appreciate your incorrect accusations, your majesty." Alistar bit back, more leaning into easing his nerves. "You see, me and my wife, and our two beautiful children are living the best lives in our home."
Rosalyn didn't speak.
Ella acknowledged her silence. "With what you did to me and my kingdom, I'm sure there's more going on through the curtains of your dollhouse, Alistar." Ella spat back, speaking his name with such bitterness.
"Are you implying that my family are suffering in my hands, with too many words left unsaid? You think my children can't communicate with me?" Alistar flared up at the subtle mention of his family she deemed toxic.
Rosalyn swallowed, and she felt her hands shaking. Taking a deep breath, she tried keeping her calm facade. But she knew, that queen Ella had made her way to cut deep into her heart of stone in a matter of a short time.
"I never said anything about suffering and lack of communication.. are you speaking for your actions?" Ella taunted, keeping her regal composure. "Because me, personally.. I'm spealing from experience."
"Don't think you intimidated me, your majesty. You shouldn't bark that much unless you know how to bite." Alistar humored her.
Now Rosalyn knew that this was going to get out of hand, experiencing Alistar's tempers.. and his threats.
"I know you too well, my friend. You know that I could hit you where it hurts if I go on any longer, now the only thing you want this chat to go down is through violence. I see you still haven't changed." Ella retorted.
Alistar let out a huff. "I haven't been violent towards Rosalyn, or my children before."
One truth, One lie.
His children? He'd never try to be violent with.
Rosalyn?
He had countless attempts.
Rosalyn's breath hitched, as she spoke. "That.. that is true. He haven't been violent to anyone. He may have his tempers, and- I have them too, but he never hurt me. He never tried to."
She knew she was lying to herself. But she loved him too much to stain his reputation a lot more. She had the choice to call him out on his shit but her heart betrayed her mind and acted on its own.
She'd just made her bed, and she was going to lay in it.
He never hurt her, but he tried to.
Ella studied her for a moment, like a parent looking at their child who has been in trouble. Her observant eyes, and skeptical look all seemed to make her nerves tense, and she gulped.
"Rosalyn?" Ella called out.
Rosalyn's head snapped towards her.
"Take care of the roses in your garden. Don't let them lose their head." Ella spoke, flashing a kind, lukewarm smile.
"What do you mean by that.." Rosalyn trailed off, unsure if she were even allowed to speak to her.
"Nothing. Just figured you have a passion for gardening as I do.." Ella shrugged, then changed the topic to an even more lighter one for Alistar to actually react and respond with without having to be trapped, hoist with his own petard.
Rosalyn knew she meant something more than that.
Elias, deep inside, wanted to ask if Rosalyn was alright.

Our Little Secret Sessions- Nate Jacobs x Reader (2)
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Nate Jacobs x Reader
Warning(s): SMUT, language, toxic relationships, older reader, NON-CON
Summary: After landing a job as the high school’s new counselor you settle into your new home, unaware of what danger lurks just outside your front door. In Part Two, you meet another one of your students, only to be interrupted by the boy next door.
Part 1
A couple of weeks had passed since your encounter with Nate, but the fear of what the teenage was capable of remained fresh in your mind. You could never forget the dominant, controlling look in his eyes when he had threatened you in your office. Since then, you had been unable to sleep properly and you found yourself constantly looking over your shoulder. On the bright side, you had not encountered him face-to-face since that day, but his presence could always be felt never too far away. He was like some sort of predator, a beast lurking in a dense jungle. Eyes sharp and ready to go in for the kill at any moment.
‘’Um miss?’’ a voice broke you out of your thoughts.
You quickly snapped your head up, sitting straight up in your office chair as a young girl stood in the doorway. She was average height for her age, dark hair, glamorous makeup, and full lips. You had seen her walking down the hall a few times, an air of confidence always surrounding her. She reminded you of the girls you hated when you were in high school.
‘’I’m so sorry, please come in,’’ you extended your hand, gesturing to one of the empty chairs or the couch in front of your desk. She nodded, shutting the door behind her as she made herself comfortable.
‘’I’m sorry, I’m still getting used to everything here. I’m Miss y/l/n,’’ you held out your hand for her to shake. She looked down at it before slowly returning the gesture. Whether she just wasn’t used to people being polite to her or she just didn’t like you, you weren’t sure.
‘’Maddy,’’ she replied, her expression unreadable.
‘’Well how can I help you Maddy?’’ you offered a kind smile despite her semi-cold attitude.
Her eyes flickered, searching for the right words to express her thoughts. Your brow furrowed as she visibly struggled.
‘’This is a safe place Maddy, whatever you tell me stays between us,’’ you encouraged.
She bit down on her lip, hands twisting and fumbling in her lap as her leg bounced. Finally, she met your concerned gaze with a sigh.
‘’Do you think sexuality is a spectrum?’’ she blurted out.
The question took you back, it taking everything in your for your mouth to stay shut.
‘’Well, in my opinion it certainly can be. There doesn’t necessarily have to be a one-size-fits-all or black and white approach to it. But I really think it depends on you and your preferences-‘’
‘’N-no. Not me,’’ she cut you off, still seemingly nervous. You arched a brow, trying to decipher what she was talking about.
 ‘’Is everything ok, Maddy?’’
‘’Look there’s this. . .guy who I’m seeing. And I found-‘’
Knocking on your door made the two of you jump. A lump formed in your throat when the handle twisted and the door opened, revealing none other than Nate fucking Jacobs.
You quickly cast a glance at Maddy who, for some reason or another, looked almost as petrified as you felt.
‘’Oh sorry Miss y/l/n, I didn’t know you were busy,’’ Nate practically hissed out the last word as his gaze fell upon Maddy.
‘’Mister Jacobs, I’m with Maddy right now. If you’d like we can schedule a meeting-‘’
‘’No! No, it’s ok, miss. I’ll be late for class anyway,’’ Maddy scrambled to collect her bag and rush out the door.
‘’I can write you a hallpass,’’ your words jumbled, practically pleading with the girl to stay so that you were not left alone with this sociopath. The smirk on Nate’s face made your blood run cold.
Maddy murmured a quick ‘’bye’’ before the door shut closed behind Nate’s lanky figure. He scoffed, steadily turning his attention back to you as you shakily stood.
‘’You can’t just show up like that. I have a job to do and anyone could-‘’
‘’Take your pants off,’’ he abruptly interrupted you.
A pitiful squeak, similar to that of a puny mouse cornered in a snake pit, escaped your lips as the air left your lungs.
‘’What?’’ you felt your heart began to beat faster as Nate took a step towards you after locking your door, sealing your fate.
‘’I said, take your pants off. And bend over your desk,’’ his deep voice shook you to your core.
‘’Nate, please,’’ you whispered, trying to sum up as much courage and dominance as you could as you stood straight and met his terrifying gaze.
He didn’t respond as his hands descended on you. One locked itself onto the back of your neck and played with your hair as the other began to roughly grope your breasts through your flimsy shirt. His mouth pressed rough, hearted kissed onto the column of your neck as his breath fanned hot flames onto your soft skin. You felt paralyzed as his grip tightened, you having to bite your lips from crying out.
You jumped when his large hand made its’ way underneath your shirt and the material of your bra. He easily captured a nipple between his index and middle finger and began to pinch and squeeze and tug on the sensitive bud, expertly rolling it however way he sought fit.
‘’L-leave,’’ you whispered. Half of you was praying and the other was making a rather pathetic attempt to reestablish authority over him.
‘’If I walk out that door, everyone will know how you slept with a student,’’ he threatened, biting at the soft juncture between your neck and shoulder, making you hiss in pain.
‘’I didn’t know!’’ you whimpered, cursing the way your body reacted to both his touch and his voice.
Your nipples were overstimulated at this point, any rubbing against your bra or touch from Nate’s fingers had you mewling like a helpless kitten. Your knees locked together as you felt the heat expand downward from your arousal.
‘’The sooner you give in, the sooner I leave. The less chance you have of someone catching us,’’ he groaned, grinding his thickness into your lower abdomen so you felt what was awaiting you.
You let out a shaky breath, nodding slowly as you nervously fumbled with your jeans. Nate all but growled when he saw the delicate lace material that hid your womanhood. His breathing labored and his cock twitched. Since he had last had you he had messed around with Maddy a few times, trying to placate his urges, trying to forget about his attractive new neighbor and school counselor. But something about you, the way you were allured him to you. He found himself craving you, imagining your cries and moans as he thrusted wildly into Maddy. He found himself becoming rougher at the thought of having you once again, all to himself. His little taboo. Today, he found he couldn’t wait any longer and found himself at your office door, ready to continue your secret little sessions.
By the time your jeans had pooled around your ankles and your underwear shortly followed, your boots providing you with a little more height than usual, Nate grew tired of waiting. He shoved your paperwork, cleverly unhooking your phone in case anyone called, and shoved you down by your neck so that your body was painfully bent over the unforgiving surface.
Your cheek pressed against the wood of the desk, your eyes searching for anything to focus on as you tried to block out the jingling of his belt and the sound of his zipper being pulled down. You felt the heat of his cock at your entrance as Nate folded himself onto you, his breath hitting your cheek and neck as his toned abs gently grazed your spine and ass.
‘’Be quiet,’’ he warned, one massive hand wrapping around your face to cover your mouth. You winced as he spit down onto your spread pussy, using his thumb as makeshift lubricate. He hummed in approval at the feel of your arousal and you didn’t need to face him to know he had a chesire cat grin on his pale face. You could feel him retreat his hips before he lunged forward and sheathed his massive dick into your tight canal. You screamed against his hand, although it was practically just muffled mewls given his tight grip as he began rotating his hips, stretching your tightness to welcome whatever he was about to give you.
‘’Shhhh, good girl, look at you taking it like a champ,’’ he mocked as he reluctantly pulled out, only to violently snap forward, your body lunging with his brutal movements.
Tears pricked the corners of your eyes, but you were ashamed to admit they were in pleasure. The feeling of complete fulness outweighed the pain, but you made a pitiful attempt to reach behind you and shove him back. You yelped as his other hand locked your wrists and pinned them to the small of your back, your body helpless and completely on display as Nate continued his brutal pace. He felt every quiver, every squeeze that your sweet pussy gave him. He nearly came within the first few minutes of being inside of you, but he managed to hold off. The way you squealed under him, your smaller body rocking in tune with his thrusts, and the way your tight pink pussy latched onto him to the point he dragged your body back as he pulled out was nothing that he had ever had before. He pressed more of his weight into you, trying to keep his own grunts and moans quiet as he gripped your face and wrists.
‘’So good,’’ he kept repeating in your neck as he hammered into you. The wet noises and sound of his hips violently meeting your backside filled you with fear that someone would come in and catch you. Your squealing and cries slowly transformed into needy moans and whimpers, you faintly acknowledged your juices beginning to drip down your inner thighs and you felt your insides begin to coil.
‘’N-Nate,’’ you breathlessly cried against his palm, attempting to suck in as much air through your nose as you could. He bite down on your shoulder, tongue lapping at the faint angry marks, groaning as his pace did not let out. He was impossibly thick and girthy, filling you and hitting your cervix with every ram of his hips. Your hands twitched and knees buckled as his cock began throbbing along your velvet walls. You couldn’t help but squeeze him as your own climax began to form, causing him to hiss against your shoulder.
‘’Gonna fill you up, oh fuck,’’ you faintly deciphered him growling out as you were forced to take his thrusts.
Your clit throbbed almost painfully, knuckles turning lighter as your fists clenched against your back. He abruptly released your wrists, opting to clutch the curve of your hip as he forced your body back to meet his awaiting thrusts, making you cry out every time he angrily entered you. As you cried out with each thrust, he groaned, feeling your release incredibly close. He angled his hips slightly higher and dove in, grinning as he heard your moans, your pussy locking onto his dick as your orgasm coated him. He slowed his pace just to watch the way he glistened from your juices, enjoying the sinful squelching noises you both produced as he shoved himself repeatedly into you, before regaining his violent momentum.
His grip on you tightened impossibly as you lay limp underneath him, lost in the waves of your release. All you felt was your body being forced back and forth as Nate impaled you onto his angry member. You swore you saw actual stars bouncing around your vision before you were forced back down into reality as he removed his hand from your mouth (finally) and gripped your throat. Through his animalistic movements he angled your face back to meet his in a bruising, possessive kiss as he ensured every inch of him was buried to the hilt inside of you as he shuddered. You groaned as the warmth of his cum filled your abused pussy. He moved against you one last time before slowly pulling you out and stuffing himself back into his jeans and zipping it back up. You winced when you felt a finger trace your lower lips and shove some of his load back into your sore pussy.
‘’Get dressed,’’ his voice conveyed his relaxation and his gaze was surprising soft as he helped you stand up.
You didn’t speak as you redressed, your face still flushed with a postcoital glow. He tucked some of your hair out of your face as his eyes searched yours, his thoughts unreadable. But just as his expression lingered on borderline affection, that cruel teenage-boy smirk reappeared as his hand thumbed the base of your neck in a warning grip.
‘’I’m going to need that hall pass.’’

Disappointment [Obey Me! Barbatos/Lance]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: Angst, hurt/comfort, internalized ableism, food mention, Lance getting dumped with my insecurities
Obey Me! Masterlist
--
Barbatos paused as he saw Lance hunched over a writing desk in the study. A frown formed on his lips – Lance hadn’t moved from his position for hours. Slowly, the butler fetched a blanket from nearby and approached the human. He nearly expected Lance to have fallen asleep but was shocked to see his eyes were open.
“Lance?” he questioned and placed the blanket down on a nearby couch. Lance merely hummed in response as he flipped through some historical records. “Have you taken a break at all today?”
“No,” Lance spoke. His pen scratched down some notes, his handwriting had gotten messier as the hours passed. The human’s eyes were red from a lack of blinking. “Don’t have time.”
Barbatos knelt down by the chair Lance was sitting in. His eyes peered at the notebook Lance was quickly feeling, the stack of books he had already gone through, and a checklist that still have multiple tasks to complete. “The project isn’t due for a while. It’s also a group project, I’m sure your group members will assist you so you can at least get something to eat.”
Lance paused, almost thinking it over. He shook his head. “I want it done right. I’ll do it myself.”
Barbatos’s eyes flickered to Lance’s left wrist. The tendons were turning a bright red as he held onto the pen and continued to write. He placed his gloved hands over Lance’s hand to stop him from writing. He gasped slightly as he felt out Lance’s hand was trembling. It was clammy.
“Lance, you need to take a break,” Barbatos spoke sternly. “When did you eat last?”
Lance avoided eye contact. “This morning.”
“You’ve missed both lunch and dinner.” Lance nodded slowly at Barbatos’s words, he knew he was hypoglycemic, but he ignored how weak he felt. “Let us go get you some food now.”
“I need to do more before—”
“No, you do not,” Barbatos cut him off. Barbatos placed a bookmark in the texts Lance was referencing and shut it. He closed the notebook, put the cap on the pen, and pulled Lance’s chair so that Lance was facing away from the desk. “You are going to join me in the kitchen, where I am going to get you a glass of juice to drink while you wait for me to prepare your dinner. Then, you are going to tell me exactly why you are pushing your body past its breaking point for a group assignment.”
Lance’s hand clenched into tight fists. He bit his bottom lip and looked away. Slowly, he rose from the chair. His knees buckled as he began to fall forward. Barbatos quickly caught him before the human could hit the ground.
“I should have come to fetch you earlier,” Barbatos said with a sigh. He kept his arms around the shaking human and helped him maneuver his way to the kitchen.
“I’m sorry,” Lance whispered, keeping his head down.
“Why did you push yourself so much?” Barbatos questioned. He helped Lance sit at a stool before he quickly grabbed a glass and filled it with juice. He placed it in Lance’s hands and helped guide the cup to his lips. “Drink.”
Lance drank quickly, trying to get his glucose levels back up. He carefully put the glass back on the counter. It clinked louder than he intended it with how violently his hands shook. His eyes remained hooded, trying to avoid Barbatos’s gaze.
"Now, Lance, why did you neglect to take any breaks?” Barbatos spoke as he gathered ingredients.
“I had too much to do,” Lance spoke softly. He took another sip of the juice.
“You and I both know that’s not the reason. Would you like to try again?” Barbatos asked as he quickly made a sandwich. His emerald eyes trailed up from the bread to Lance as he muttered something. “I beg your pardon?”
Lance slid around on the stool so that his back was facing Barbatos. “I’m not good enough.”
“Not good enough?” Barbatos whispered, he wasn’t sure if he was asking it to himself or Lance. “Whatever gave you that idea?”
“I can’t,” Lance took a moment to try and catch his breath. “I can’t do things most people can do. I’m always a burden on people. The things I can do, I have to make sure I exceed in to make up for the fact how pathetic I am. If I don’t, I’ll disappoint everyone.”
Barbatos quickly made his way around the kitchen counter. His feet tapped against the floor until he paused in front of Lance. Quickly, he tilted Lance’s chin so that the human looked up at him. Lance clenched his eyes shut, trying to hide the tears flowing from his eyes.
"Lance,” Barbatos murmured. He engulfed the human in his arms. “You are not disappointing anyone. You do far more than what is expected of you. You are not a burden any more than anyone else. I enjoy caring for you.” He pulled away. His hands gently held Lance’s face. Slowly, he used his thumbs to wipe away the human’s tears from under his glasses. “You are skilled in a great many of things, even for someone that is fully abled. I know some of those things are more difficult for you, but that doesn’t change anything.”
"I’m still afraid I’ll be a disappointment,” Lance whispered. “I want to help the exchange program succeed. I want to make Lord Diavolo proud.” His shoulder shook as his crying intensified. “I want to make you proud. I want to be good enough for you. And I know I’m not, but—”
“When did I ever give you the impression that you’re not good enough for me?” Barbatos asked in shock. Lance hiccupped and shook his head. Barbatos swallowed down a sense of panic. “Lance, when did I make you feel that way? Please, tell me.”
"You didn’t,” Lance finally managed to get out. “It wasn’t you. It’s just…You’re so incredible, and I’m me.”
Barbatos placed his lips against the top of Lance’s head. He shut his eyes, trying to figure out exactly how Lance’s self-image became so warped. The human that usually tried to stay realistically, positive, but held a dark shadow in his heart. The human that uplifted others, but seemed to put himself down. The human that always worked hard, but felt he wasn’t doing enough. The human he found himself trying to be better for, but that same human felt he wasn’t enough.
“Lance,” Barbatos whispered into his hair. “My sweet, Lance. You are good enough. You are more than good enough. The only thing I’m disappointed in is that you feel this way about yourself when it couldn’t be any further from the truth. When I look at you, I still cannot believe that our paths have become so intertwined. I know it may take some time to change your thoughts, but please, do not say such cruel things about yourself. You deserve to show yourself the same sweetness you show to others.”
Lance opened his eyes; they were even redder than before. He gazed into Barbatoss eyes, trying to find any signs that the demon was lying. There were none. Lance sniffled and tried to calm down his breathing. He swallowed down the insecurities still raging inside of him as he whispered, “I’ll try.”
Barbatos nodded. “I’ll help you. For right now, you need to eat. You deserve to keep your body as strong as you can.” The butler shifted slightly and grabbed the plate with the sandwich before sliding it towards Lance. He then placed his hands on Lance’s shoulders and helped him turn back around towards the counter.
Once he was sure that the human wouldn’t topple off, he grabbed another glass and filled it with water. His hands slipped over a cabinet and opened it, revealing medications for humans. His eyes darted around the labels before he grabbed some ibuprofen. He popped the cap open and tapped a couple of pills into the lid. Once satisfied, his long legs strode back over to where Lance was slowly eating.
Barbatos held the lid out towards Lance. “For your headache.”
Lance blinked at the butler. “How did you…?”
“You get headaches after you cry,” Barbatos said with a sad smile.
Lance looked away, his cheeks heating up slightly. He took the pills and grumbled, “I hate that you know that.”
Barbatos shook his head. “Nonsense. You’ve been through a lot since you’ve arrived in the Devildom. It’s only natural that you would experience some distress at some point. I have also tried to learn as much about you as you have felt comfortable revealing.”
Lance glanced up from the sandwich. He placed it back down on the plate before he slid it closer to Barbatos. Silently, he shuffled over to the demon and leaned against him. “Thank you, Barbatos.”
Barbatos let an arm wrap around Lance’s waist and pulled him closer. “No, I should be the one thanking you for being here.”

WAIT WAIT— what if 👀 what if Yandere!Tubbo and Yandere!Tommy falling for the reader at the same time
BROO— THE ANGST POSSIBILITIES
ooooooOOOOO DAMN this one is gonna be good! I love the way you think! So I wrote this as headcanons, but I will write this as an actual story if requested. ^^
This is not exactly implied romantic??? I'm still scared about writing their characters as directly romantic????? I'll probably get braver about it but still lowkey worried.
Yandere!C!Tommy x GN!Reader x Yandere!C!Tubbo Headcanon/Fic
Tommy, at first, completely denied even acknowledging your existence.
Until he saw someone interact with you.
Then he would start pulling out his sword or glaring at them from across the room.
He would definitely pin them in an alleyway and threaten every single one of their canon lives.
Tommy, please. Niki was just trying to give you cookies.
He's the kind of Yandere that would greatly keep his distance both physically, emotionally and mentally. Basically, he would be a Tsundere Yandere.
Tubbo, on the other hand, would be extremely sweet to you.
Need netherite? He had an extra few ingots ready in his pockets!
Interacting with someone who wasn't him? Was he not good enough for you??? Fine. You don't deserve him.
He would cry to you and make you feel guilty OR completely ignore you for a week straight until you come crawling back to him and apologizing.
Straight up can flip emotions like a switch.
The first time either of them realized the other liked you as well, was when they were listening to Mellohi on their bench, watching the sunset when they saw you having a conversation with Ranboo at the bottom of the cliff.
"What're they doing talking to him?" Tommy growled lowly and leaned forward to glared at the enderman who was talking to you. He reached for his bow n' arrow before Tubbo grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks, "What? I don't want them talking to anyone but me."
"What do you mean 'anyone but you'?! You avoid them like they're a virus!" Tubbo stared at him, digging his fingers into Tommy's bicep a small bit to show his anger a bit more, "They should only be talking to me."
The blond turned towards his brunet friend and yanked his arm out of his grasp, "Excuse me?" He glared into Tubbo's dull blue eyes, gritting his teeth, "You do nothing but give them stuff!"
"And you treat them like shit and avoid them!" The smaller of the two retorted angrily, trying to keep his tone level enough to where you didn't hear.
Mellohi, the music that had been playing mere moments ago, slowly came to a stop and left nothing but silence and tension in the air. You had noticed them arguing from below, but Ranboo (who had heard their entire argument) decided to pull you away from them and bring you to the Tundra.
"Are you trying to take everything from me?!" Tommy tightened his grip on his diamond sword, although part of him knew that if Tubbo equipped his netherite armour, there would be absolutely no competition whatsoever.
"Take things from you?! They're a human being and you choose to ignore that fact when you ignore them or call them terrible names!"
"I treat everyone like that! You already have Ranboo, I don't understand why you're chasing after them with hearts in your eyes when you're fuckin' married! Loyal much! Oh wait, you aren't loyal, you EXILED ME!"
"It's platonic! I told you that already! And you're starting this again now, Tommy?!"
Ranboo actually felt nervous leaving you alone around both Tommy AND/OR Tubbo after hearing their entire argument that day.
Tommy, although now a lot nicer, became extremely clingy towards you and constantly would walk over and drag you away mid-conversation with anyone that wasn't him. ESPECIALLY if you were talking to Tubbo.
Man would bring you everywhere with him if you would let him.
Netherite mining? Get your pick.
To get new discs? Pack your bags, we're going on an adventure.
Straight up does everything he can do to get you away from Tubbo because he's petty.
He tried giving you as many gifts as Tubbo, but mans is broke.
Tubbo would get extremely annoyed by Tommy even just walking through the area when he was with you.
Would start to hold your hand or link arms with you (if you're comfortable), just so Tommy couldn't pull you away as easily.
Started to try guilt-tripping you into living in Snowchester, and even tried to get you to live in the mansion.
Ranboo actually lied to Tubbo, saying he was scared of enderwalking and hurting you, to convince Tubbo not to guilt-trip you further into living in the mansion.
Tubbo's constant gift-giving got so much more extreme.
Want netherite ingots to make armour?
Nope. No lifting a finger.
He already made you fully enchanted netherite god armour anyway.
Has definitely tried to convince Ranboo to let him involve you in the platonic marriage.
"Ranboo! My beloved!" Tubbo called jokingly, walking into their home. He kicked the snow on his boots before pulling down his hood and taking off his hat, hanging it on the hook as he took off his footwear, "I have a proposition for you!"
The monochrome-coloured man lifted his head and set down the journal in his hand, the ink likely still wet judging by the quill in his hand, "Yeah? What's that?" He placed the feathered pen in the pot of ink and turned to face his platonic husband.
"What would you say to extending our marriage to three people? Like a polyamorous relationship. Like Sapnap, Karl and Big Q?" Tubbo sat down in the chair beside him, watching as Ranboo was left reeling for a few seconds.
"W-well, one, I think you mean expanding. Two, with who?!" The tall male sat up quickly, bumping his leg on the table from his minor flailing, "A-and, and, what about Michael? Are you sure they can be trusted with him?"
Tubbo held out his hand to calm his friend down, making his friend put his hands down so he didn't accidentally hit something, "You know what I meant, and (Y/n)! Y'know... Like, the one with (h/l) (h/c) hair, (tall/short)! (Y/n), them!"
"Yeah, yeah, I know who they are, it's just..." He paused to gather his words, glancing away from his friend. In all reality, he wouldn't mind inviting you into the platonic marriage, even if he knew Tubbo felt more romantic feelings towards you. He didn't shut up about it. It was the fact that he was worried about what kind of mental manipulation Tubbo would do to you if you did agree to be in the marriage. Or even what Tommy would do to you or Tubbo!
"...Just?"
'Your relationship with Tommy is beyond screwed already... Imagine what would happen if both of his friends left him to be in a platonic relationship with me. Tubbo, all of us would be in severe danger.' He thought silently before taking a breath. "I-I don't have my enderwalking state under control... I'm already scared for Michael enough, and I don't want to hurt her as well... Give it some time and we'll see. Please.." He whispered, lying through his teeth. Ranboo knew you were damn good at protecting yourself and could knock his long and lanky ass to the dirt within seconds.
Tubbo's bright shiny eyes seemed to glaze over for a moment as his smile began to falter, "Ah... Yeah. I guess that makes sense. For their safety I suppose." His normal look returned and he gave him a smile, "Yeah, that does make a lot of sense. I'll ask again next month to see what happens."
"What... What about Tommy-"
"What about him?" He demanded sharply, his smile vanishing in mere seconds which caught Ranboo off guard yet again, "He doesn't need to be in their life. He would do more harm to them than good!"
Ranboo was left gaping, his mouth moving but not creating any sounds. He watched as Tubbo eyed him carefully before he got up, murmuring something about grabbing food then going to bed.
Once the goat hybrid was completely out of sight, Ranboo reached for his memory book and took the quill again.
'Protect (Y/n) from Tubbo and Tommy. Get them out of DreamSMP.'
Ranboo was scared for you.
He was stuck watching as these crazy two men fought over you, threatened you, manipulated you... It was worrying, to say the least.
Don't get him wrong. If he didn't have an adopted son, a platonic husband that he still cared about despite him being another Dream at this point, and a Syndicate to protect him from, he would've packed everything and ran, bringing you with him.
He was practically walking on eggshells around this man that he had once been extremely close to!
It practically sent shivers down his spine...
Eventually, it got to the point where Ranboo had gone to your house in the ungodly hours of the morning to talk to you.
This man LITERALLY crept into Tubbo's room AND Tommy's house to make sure they were both asleep before going to talk to you.
"Ran... Boo?" You asked, yawning softly as you leaned against the door, your hair all frizzy and messed up, "What's up? It'sssss... Like 5:30am. The sun is barely even up..."
"(Y/n)... Can we go inside? Please... There's something very wrong.." He murmured softly, his memory book tightly held in his grasp as he glanced around. Tommy could be waking up sometime soon, and he did not want to get caught talking to you. He would certainly be down a canon life before he could even say 'sorry'.
You watched the nervous man in front of you and nodded before stepping aside to let him in. Peaking outside, you looked around for what was causing him to panic but went back inside once you didn't see anything. "What's wrong?" Softening your tone, you gestured for him to sit at the table while you made coffee.
Once he had a fresh mug of coffee in front of him, Ranboo slowly began to gather his nerve and speak. He told you everything he could remember, and even opened his memory book to tell you about the things he didn't remember. Everything from the fight where Tommy and Tubbo's friendship completely went downhill a few months ago, to the threats Tubbo used against Tommy, the manipulation against you, the threats he had received by talking to you, and even Tubbo's violent mood switches when talking about you or Tommy.
The entire time, you just sat there wide-eyed as you listened to him ramble on about his fears and worries, and everything in between. He even mentioned wanting to actually divorce Tubbo because of how scared he was for you and his own life. "I don't... Not... Believe you... But this is- this is a little difficult to believe." You knew the enderman hybrid wouldn't lie about something so serious, and he definitely wouldn't be shaking like a leaf if it was a joke or a lie.
"Y-yeah, I expected that... But I really do care about your safety, honestly. You know I wouldn't joke about this kind of thing, especially about Tubbo." He murmured softly, looking at his crown laying on the table in front of him, "In all honesty, I came here this early because I was scared about Tommy trying to kill me if he saw me talking to you..."
"He wouldn't ki-"
The door slammed open dramatically and there was a cheerful shout of your name, "(Y/n)!!! Let's go mining for diamon-" Tommy walked into your kitchen, only to freeze mid-step and midfacial expression. His expression went from surprised to annoyance to a grim smile, "Hello Ranboo!" He gave him a smile that was more like baring his teeth as he twirled his axe nonchalantly.
He was going to hurt him...

Idk if your requests are open but could I request a Hannibal x reader who has an emotionally/verbally abusive older sibling. If you're not comfortable or if it's too dark you can ignore this :)
Anon, I had an emotionally abusive older sister figure growing up. I would be fucking honored. I hope you like it!
(Gender neutral) y/n gets some unexpected advice from their new therapist after things got physical with their verbally abusive older sister.
Trigger warnings: verbal and emotional abuse, reactive abuse, mention of suicide, implied use of r-slur
At first, you hated that you had to see a therapist. Just because you were the first one to throw a punch, you were designated the violent one. The unstable one. The one that needed to be straightened out. As if nearly two decades of your sister's completely unchecked psychological torment was supposed to just roll right off your back. But she'd been asking for it since the day she learned to speak, and you both knew it. You only regretted not hitting her harder.
Dr. Lecter's office was spacious, overwhelming and cold. Impeccably decorated, but not so much in the way of welcoming. You couldn't begin to picture yourself opening up to whatever kind of person kept their office as dark and frigid as a morgue.
"My sincerest apologies for making you wait, [F/N]." A low, accented voice greeted you from behind. The man hurriedly strode across the room and took his place behind the desk. "I'm Dr. Hannibal Lecter, it's nice to meet you in person."
Your gaze fell, mostly because the therapist was just as intimidating as the room. "Hi. I'm [F/N] [L/N]. But you already knew that."
"Perhaps we can begin by clarifying why it is you're here?" Dr. Lecter asked. His tone wasn't accusatory, but confused.
You put your hands on your knees and sighed. "I punched my sister in the throat."
"Did she deserve it?"
He probably expected this question to catch you off guard, but you had an answer.
"She did." You nodded.
"Oh?" Dr. Lecter raised an eyebrow. With a look, he urged you to elaborate.
"I had just gotten these new shoes." You began. "These really nice cuffed ankle boots that I've been eyeing for, like, months. And I was wearing them around the house, y'know, to break them in. Well, apparently, she didn't like the sound they made on the hardwood, so she said 'Jesus [F/N], since you clearly crave attention so much, why don't you go kill yourself?'"
"And she said this..." Dr. Lecter narrowed his eyes. "Because your shoes were making noise against the floor?"
"So I was about to say 'sorry' when I realized that I didn't do anything." You continued. "So I just went about my business. When I didn't apologize, she got up into my face and started telling me what a waste of space I was. Then I just decked her."
Dr. Lecter's mouth turned up into a slight grin. He crossed the room and took a knee beside you. "Make a fist for me."
You balled your hand up into a fist, tucking your thumb under your fingers.
"Oh, no. That won't do at all. You're going to dislocate your thumb that way." Dr. Lecter clicked his tongue. "Come now, dear. Give me your hand."
He took your hand and gently guided it into a proper fist, with your thumb awkwardly resting over your fingers.
"There we are." He whispered. "Next time, try that. And if she hits back, don't be afraid to use your nails or teeth."
"Thanks, but," You laughed awkwardly. "I'm pretty sure my mom sent me here so there wouldn't be a next time?"
"Your mother is dreadfully naïve if she thinks there won't be." Dr. Lecter took a seat in the chair across from yours. "She clearly sees no problem that her oldest child is encouraging her sibling to commit suicide."
You leaned back in your chair. "But what about 'violence is never the answer'?"
"I try not to limit my practice with meaningless platitudes." He smiled. "You've heard 'sticks and stones may break my bones'..."
"But chains and whips excite me." You finished, not stopping for a moment to consider if your 50-year-old ambiguously European therapist would understand a reference to Rihanna.
He paused for a moment, then laughed. It was strange to see this six foot tall, terrifying man laugh, but it happened. You did that. "That's not the way I've heard it go."
"I feel so dumb." You threw your head back. "It's a song."
"I have to say, I like that version better." Dr. Lecter said. "The reality is, my dear [F/N], you are only a perpetrator as long as your sister is. What you're engaged in is known as 'reactive abuse'. While it can be dangerous in its own right, it often manifests as a form of self-defense."
"That..." Your voice trailed off. "Actually makes me feel a little better."
"Don't let anyone tell you what you did was unjustified." Dr. Lecter instructed. "And, more importantly, don't tell yourself it was unjustified."
"Thanks." You said, weakly.
“And in the meantime,” Dr. Lecter continued. “You need to make sure when you hit her, you don’t break your fingers in the process. Do you understand?”
“Loud and clear.” You nodded.
“I feel that’s probably enough time spent on your worthless sister, don’t you?” He settled into his seat. “Tell me about yourself.”
He broke you open like like an egg. Soon enough, the hour was over and you didn’t even feel it pass. But you were refreshed and ready to take on the world with a new understanding of your station in life. That was, until you saw your sister waiting for you in the lobby.
“Hey fuckface, mom sent me to pick you up from suicidal freak daycare.” She said, slouching in her seat with her legs crossed.
You took in a breath, falling back on your old, horrifically ineffective coping skills.
“This is a private exit for my patients, Miss [L/N].” Dr. Lecter scolded, putting a protective hand on your shoulder. “And I would appreciate it if you did not use that language in my office.”
The sudden presence of an actual adult snapped her into shape. She sat up and uncrossed her legs. “Of course. Sorry, sir.”
“Now apologize.” Dr. Lecter demanded.
She said nothing.
Miss [L/N], I find it terribly offensive that you felt entitled to insult both my practice and my patient.” He broke the silence. “You would do well to apologize.”
“I’m sorry you feel that way.” She muttered. “Can I please just take them home?”
You felt yourself tense up. Dr. Lecter squeezed your shoulder comfortingly and leaned in to your ear. “Remember what I taught you, [L/N].”
You took a few steps forward, Dr. Lecter watching from the threshold.
“Are you waiting for an invitation?” Your sister scoffed. “I don’t have all day, you little reta-”
You heard the collision before you felt it. You launched your fist straight into her jaw before she could finish that word. A dreadful crunch filled the air.
You pulled your hand back, a rush of endorphins flooding your mind. Your knuckles felt a little sore, but the pain faded quickly. Your sister’s pain, however, would last quite a while.
You looked back at Dr. Lecter and shook out your hand. “You were right. That is better.”

“Gojo sensei, why don’t you just confess to L/N-sensei already?” Itadori curiously asked, causing the white-haired teacher to lift up his blindfold to look up at his first-year students, who were all standing around him on his chair, with a somewhat confused expression.
“Yuji-kun, what are you talking about? Confess? Ha?” Gojo asked in confusion, wondering why his student was asking such a weird question as well as wondering how Itadori knew about his feelings towards you.
“Sensei, it’s so obvious that you like L/N-sensei! There is no denying that fact,” Kugisaki shouted in frustration, annoyed at the fact how her teacher was so ignorant to the fact that it was clear as day that his infatuation towards you was just painful evident.
“Ah~ you guys caught me~” Gojo teasingly admitted with his hands stuffed into his pocket, before smiling up at the three students that were staring at him with dumbfounded faces.
“WAIT SO YOU KNEW YOU HAD FEELINGS?” Both Itadori and Kugisaki yelled in anger, causing Fushiguro to give both them as well as his teacher a glare of annoyance due to their loudness.
                                              ꕥ
“Fushiguro, who is that?” Kugisaki quietly asked as she pointed towards someone that was walking towards the first-years and Gojo with Principle Yaga right beside them, discussing something that seemed extremely important between both the adults.
“That’s L/N-sensei, she teaches at the Kyoto Metropolitan Curse Technical College but from time to time, she does come over to this school to teach us as well,” Fushiguro explained, as he watches you finally stop right in front of them with a small smile on your face.
“So, these are the two new first-years you were talking about,” you commented to Principal Yaga before introducing yourself towards the three. “My name is L/N Y/N, and you all will be seeing me here from time to time since I’ll be helping you all, but you already know me Megumi,” you stated before gently patting the young boy’s head, causing Fushiguro to smile kindly at you.
“Ah~ isn’t it little Y/N? Have you gotten shorter over the past few months that I haven’t seen you?” Gojo then asked in a playful tone as he placed his giant hand on the top of your head, causing a sudden wave of irritation to hit you once you heard the shaman’s voice. “Well, well, well isn’t it dumbass Satoru? Are you still salty at the fact that I beat you in our last match?” you asked mischievous tone as you then violently pinched his right cheek before pulling it as much as you could.
“Are they dating?” Itadori then asked his friend, only to receive a simple ‘no’ as a response from Fushiguro, causing all three of them to continue watching the mess that was unfolding right in front of them.
“Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch,” Gojo painfully panicked, before you suddenly let go of his face leaving an extremely bright ruby red mark on his face where your fingers were. “That hurts Y/N, who is going to even date you with your abusive antics?” Gojo mocked, causing you to instantly reply with “definitely not you, idiot Satoru,” you quickly answered back leading to the powerful shaman to express a blank expression his face before instantly replacing it with a cheeky smile to cover up what he was feeling - yet, even with that split second change, Itadori, Fushiguro and Kugisaki all notice this and began to wonder the same thing.
‘Does Gojo-sensei like L/N-sensei?’
                                               ꕥ
“You should really confess to her,” Kugisaki suggested to her teacher, causing both Fushiguro and Itadori to nod in agreement - most likely to not be a victim to her wrath if they had disagreed with the female student.
“Maybe you should give her flowers? Or maybe some chocolate since L/N-sensei really like sweets,” Fushiguro commented, causing everyone to look at him with confused expressions on their faces.
“How did you know L/N-sensei loves sweets?” Itadori asked in a perplexed expression, as he wondered by Fushiguro would know such a random fact about you, causing his classmate to sign in frustration before explaining with, “when I was younger, she would always have a few small snacks in her pockets and would offer me some when I was upset or after picking me up from school,”.
“Awww that is so cute Fushiguro, L/N-sensei was basically your other parent,” Kugisaki commented with her hands hold her cheeks while squealing as she imagined the little image of you crouching down and giving a mini Fushiguro a chocolate chip cookie.
“Sensei, listen to Fushiguro and get a box of chocolates! The expensive kind as well because good food is anyone’s best friend,” Kugisaki ranted, as she was getting excited to set this couple up like she was cupid with the arrow - well...more like the nails and hammer.
“Or just get L/N-sensei’s favourite, which is…” Itadori added into the conversation before turning to his shikigami user friend, waiting for him to complete his sentence. Fushiguro turned to look at Itadori before quickly answering, “Meiji Milk Chocolate,”
“That’s quite a cheap chocolate,” Itadori then commented before Kugisaki quickly commanded, “it doesn't matter! Gojo-sensei, you need to go and buy that chocolate as soon as possible since L/N-sensei is coming to teach us today, so better hurry it up!” leading to the special grade shaman to sigh loudly as he quickly standing up from his seat to on his own two feet before making his way out of the room, quickly waving his arm out to all three of his students as a simple ‘see you later’
                                              ꕥ
After an extremely quick run to the closest convenience store, there was no surprised that Mr Gojo “I like eating sweets as well” Satoru came back with a small white bag with the store logo filled with masses of different types of sweets and chocolates nearly overflowing to the top, making any sweet-tooth child that saw this exceedingly jealous at the adult.
Walking around the grounds of Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, Gojo was in search of both you and his three students, wondering where all four of you could have gone since he was very certain that there were no missions needed to be completed by anyone from what he was informed.
However, there was a sudden sound of laughter coming from his left side causing the shaman to quickly turn in that direction and from the sounds of it, it was definitely Kugisaki laughing her ass off at something right now at this current moment in time. Turning his feet, Gojo steadily made his way towards the direction of the sound, hoping that he would find you and the rest there on wherever his feet would guide him.
After finding his way, Gojo had unexpectedly come to the amusing sight of both Fushiguro and Kugisaki - who was still laughing her ass off - sitting on the stairs that were leading to the track field of the school, with you casually standing with your hand in your pocket as Itadori was face planted on the ground from what he assumed was from your beating in your react combat training match.
“I can’t lie Yuji, you’re definitely stronger than I had imagined, if you are able to somehow combine both your physical strength with your curse energy equally, you would be able to beat Todo in no time,” you commented, as you stretched your arms to realise some of the tension that had gained from the little practice match you had with the salmon-haired student.
“Are you sure about that sensei?” Itadori excitedly asked as he quickly lifted his head up from the ground, causing you to gently smile at the young boy before nodding at his question. Leisurely, you turned your head towards the other students to ask whose turn it was until you suddenly saw an exceptionally tall figure standing behind the seated Fushiguro and Kugisaki.
“I guess class has to be dismissed for you,” you quietly mentioned to all the three students causing them to then look at the direction you were glancing at, only to find their playful teacher waving at them with a bright smile on his face.
“Yo~ it seemed like all of you had taken a beating, especially you Yuji,” Gojo stated, causing the Itadori to look away with a tired expression before steadily getting up from the ground. “Also, you all can head back into your dorms to freshen up from your training session since I need to have a chat with L/N-sensei. Class dismissed,” Gojo suddenly announced, leading all the first-years to look confused before seemingly realising what their teacher was going to do once they caught the slight of the small white bag that was in his hands.
Quickly making their way up the stairs, Itadori, Fushiguro and Kugisaki all gave you a wave ‘goodbye’ before making their way back to their rooms, making you and Gojo the only people that were in the area right now.
“What is it that you want, idiot?” you asked, before making your way towards him with a tired expression painted on your face before positioning yourself on the stairs where Kugisaki was previously seated, leading to the white-haired shaman to take a seat next to you - where Fushiguro was previously.
Suddenly, you unexpectedly heard a loud sound of something ruffling causing you to turn your head, only to now discover the small white back that your Tokyo rival was carrying to then also quickly detect that it was filled with chocolates and sweets leading to a cute little shine in your eyes to which didn’t go unnoticed by the white-haired man.
“You looking at something sweetie~?” Gojo teasingly asked, causing you to look up at him before quickly turning your head away to the opposite direction, embarrassed that he had caught you peeking at his little snack bag. Although, a few seconds later, you suddenly saw two rectangular boxes that were in both brown and white colour appear in front of your face leaving you in a confused state before hearing “I thought you would want something sweet after teaching my students, like a thank you gift I suppose,”
Hesitantly, you grabbed the two packages before slowly turning back your head to look at your jujutsu sorcerer colleague to see what he was resting his chin on the palm of his hand, somewhat covering the lower half that wasn’t covered but no enough for you to not see the pink hues that were slowly appearing on his face.
Deciding to not ruin the moment, you peered down at the chocolate that Gojo had given you to only suddenly find that he had brought your favourite kind, Meiji Chocolate but he had also added the white chocolate version for you to which put a gentle smile upon your face.
“Oh~ are you liking my gifts?” Gojo playfully asked you as he peered upon your face causing you to look at him with an irritated look. “Way to ruin the moment, you fool,” you then stated before carefully opening the box as you then slid out the foiled covered chocolate before processing to remove the shiny wrapping, only to be presented with the smoothest looking bar of chocolate you have ever laid eyes on.
Admiring the sweet treat for a few seconds, you began to break the top row of cubes because handing it towards the shaman that was still looking at you. “Here and thank you for the chocolate, I really appreciate it,” you quietly said to Gojo, leading to the shaman to look at you with a shocked face - since you rarely thanked him for simple things like this - before using taking a bite of the chocolate that was still in your hands causing you to blush extremely from his actions.
“HEY! At least take the chocolate from my hands and not eat it while I’m holding it, you snow idiot!” you shouted at him before feeling something being gently pressed upon your lips while a hint of sweet milk chocolate could be tasted.
Instantly dropping the chocolate bar on your lap, you slowly raised your hands and gently placed them upon Gojo’s cheeks, keeping him still as you wanted to savour this moment a little longer with him. Just a little longer.
The taste of chocolate was sweetly addictive and there was nothing that could make you want to pull away. You were just plainly addicted.
Slowly, you moved one of your hands to place it behind his head while placing the other arm over his shoulder. You just needed him close to you. You were willing to let him take your last breath if that meant you get to taste the sweetness that was being shared between the both of you right now.
Unwillingly, you felt yourself and him begin to pull away due to the lack of air, leaving both you and Gojo with heavy breaths. However, before Gojo could ever get a word in between the silence that was surrounding the both of you, he suddenly felt you pull his head back towards you only to feel your lips upon his in a desperate state, letting him off with no choice but to enjoy the feeling on unconditional love that was evolving between both you and him.
As well as the sweet taste of chocolate.

just a kid [one] // wanda maximoff
summary: you're a field medic at the Avengers Tower and get into an accident where you hurt your head. It was only supposed to be a mild concussion, yet things don't seem to be going right when you try to remember the accident.
warning/s: mentions of violent/dark scenes.
author's note: here’s the first of a little two-parter I worked on not long ago, hope you all like it!
part two | masterlist | wattpad
Tumblr media
I woke up with heavy eyes and an aching head, momentarily dazed.
"Hey there, Doctor Y/L/N... can you hear me okay?"
Breathing deeply, I found the energy to clear my throat and scan the view above me. I was laying down on a bed, in a hospital room, I think. The lights were ever so bright and I now knew how annoying it felt to wake up like this as my patients had.
"What happened?" I asked, eyes roaming around until they settled on my doctor. "Doctor Maya? What am I–? Why am I here?"
I recognised Doctor Maya as a colleague of mine, though unlike me, she was a doctor who worked at the Avengers Tower whereas I worked as a field medic so was more on the move. The only reason I'd be here is if I was in an accident. Was I? I wasn't sure.
"Something happened when you were on your last mission," she explained gently. "I– hold on. I'm going to get Miss Maximoff, okay?"
"Wanda?" I asked, furrowing my brows and pinching them to relieve the stress in my head. "Where is she? Is she here?"
"She just nipped out," Doctor Maya said, before backing up. "One second, Y/N."
She left the room momentarily, leaving me to try and remember what had happened. I was on the quinjet and was getting briefed with my team. There were casualties that we had to get to and an agent– an agent I was helping, yes!
I groaned, clutching my head when I tried to remember. Deciding I shouldn't push myself so soon, I waited until the doctor returned with Wanda. Maybe they could tell me how I ended up here. I wasn't exactly injured, at least not physically and that I knew of. My head hurt and that was about it.
The door to my room opened suddenly and I looked that way, seeing Wanda rushing in wearing her civilian clothing. The doctor followed soon after, gently closing the door behind her.
"You're awake," Wanda said with relief, stopping by my bedside. Her hand rested on mine, squeezing it comfortingly. "How are you feeling?"
I smiled upon seeing her, even if she was staring at me like I was a fragile piece of glass. We'd been dating for a while now and she always had the power to make me feel better with her presence.
"I'm alright," I promised. "Just a bit confused to what happened. The last thing I remember is going into the field. Then I woke up here."
She chewed on her lower lip, exchanging unreadable glances with the doctor.
"There was a mine that detonated near you when you were helping an injured agent," Wanda explained softly, and I opened my mouth to speak, but she quickly added, "The agent is okay before you ask. But you hit your head from the impact. Mild concussion."
"That's why your head hurts and you're having trouble remembering," the doctor said, earning my attention. "You should be feeling better soon. And I've got some medication for the pain."
Now that Wanda mentioned it, I did vaguely recall being thrown back by a blast. But remembering it was like watching a film with poor satellite, the screen fuzzing around the edges and remaining unclear even though you focused hard. I was sure it would return to me soon.
"Thanks," I said, before attempting to sit up straight. Wanda helped me as I looked to her with gratitude before paying my attention back to Doctor Maya. "Am I alright to leave?"
"Of course, yeah," she said, nodding quickly. "Feel free to come back if you have any trouble. You should be okay though."
I nodded and smiled gratefully before watching her leave. Sighing, I pushed my hair from my face and looked to Wanda who was hanging by me patiently, eyes twinkling with concern.
"I'm fine," I promised her with a knowing look.
She gave me a small smile – her way of saying I'm still worried, but I'll dial it down – then moved to the chair beside the bed and grabbed some clothes.
"You can change into this," she said about the clothes in her hand, and I was sure they were some of hers; mine must have been ruined from the mine. "And if you want, you can stay with me whilst you recover."
I raised my eyebrows as I accepted the clothes. "You sure? It's nothing serious. I can take care of myself."
She shrugged, eyes avoiding mine with embarrassment as her hands played with mine. "I wanna help. I like looking after you... plus, you've stayed at mine before. This isn't any different. And you can be closer to Doctor Maya in case anything is wrong."
I weighed the decision briefly before giving in, unable to resist how cute she was when she was worried. "Okay, yeah, sure, why not?" She smiled widely, and I added, "Any excuse to cuddle with you, right?"
She chuckled. "I knew you wouldn't be able to resist."
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Just let me get ready and we can head to your room. I'm actually a little tired."
She nodded and helped me up so I could get ready. I didn't think much of the whole thing, until later that night when I fell asleep beside Wanda.
My dreams never usually meant much. I wasn't one for reading into them, nor was I one to get seriously affected by 'nightmares', knowing they were usually a concoction of bad horror films and stupid ghost stories from my childhood.
But tonight was different.
It wasn't a dream and it wasn't a nightmare, but rather a memory that couldn't exist.
There was debris everywhere, a mixture of yellow rays blinding my sight with dark shadows looming over me. Destroyed buildings and scattered bodies – none were alive – surrounded me. The heat was too much, but I had a job. I knew I had a job, but I couldn't focus because of how fast my heart was racing, beating an incessant drum in my ears, and how rigid my body felt.
"Help!" a voice was shouting. A young girl, I think – she sounded like a kid. Who was it?
Before I could make sense of anything, I heard a loud noise, like an explosion, that sounded so close yet also extremely distant. Nonetheless, my eardrums weren't spared. The mine, maybe? Was this a memory? Was this how I got hurt?
I was thrown back, head hitting a wall, but I didn't pass out. There was a figure looming over me, short, like a child's shadow, but with no visible face or features. Nothing, actually, just a dark outline staring at me though I couldn't stare back because there was nothing to stare at.
The shouts for help returned, but it was distant like the explosion. I couldn't make sense of anything, and when I closed my eyes to blink, I opened them to find debris washing over me all over again, flying in the air along with my body. It had to be the explosion, my memory returning.
This time, when I hit the wall, I woke with a start. My eyes snapped open, taking in the dark room and nightly blue hue casting over the ceiling and walls. I swallowed hard, finding my breath, and raised my hand to gently massage my forehead. An aching pain was shooting all over, forcing me to sit up as slowly as I could as to not wake up Wanda, who appeared to be fast asleep beside me.
I checked the clock beside her bed and saw it was closing on half three in the morning. I went to bed around nine, which was also when I last had my medication. Doctor Maya said I could have it every five to seven hours and when I got a severe headache.
"I guess this counts...," I mumbled to myself, before grabbing the medication and bottle of water beside the clock.
I downed the two tablets within seconds before sitting upright for a few more minutes, needing a moment to myself before attempting to get back to sleep.
"Y/N...? Are you up?"
I winced at the sound of Wanda's groggy voice, immediately feeling bad for waking her. I turned around and saw her rubbing her eyes with one hand whilst blinking away her fatigue.
"Just have a headache, don't worry," I reassured quietly, leaning down to press a kiss to her forehead. "You can go back to sleep."
"Do you need me to get you anything?" she asked, finally able to keep her eyes open long enough to meet my gaze with her cloudy green ones.
I smiled through my exhaustion. "I'm okay, love. I've had some medicine."
"Well, I can get you something to–" she began, trying to make a move to sit up, but I pushed her back down gently.
"I'm okay," I repeated sternly, before slipping back into bed beside her. Wrapping an arm around her torso, I said, "Get back to sleep."
She nodded tiredly, getting comfortable and pulling me closer to her. I felt her arm wrap around me as I snuggled closer, relaxing in her embrace.
"Wake me if something is wrong," she mumbled, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. "Goodnight. I love you."
"I love you, too," I returned, kissing the closest thing to me which was her chest. "Goodnight."
Admittedly, it was still difficult for me to fall back asleep. It must have been no longer than ten minutes when I heard Wanda's breathing and felt the gentle rise and fall of her chest beneath me – she'd fallen back asleep. I sighed, slightly jealous, but stayed close to her and tried not to think about my accident or my weird dream/nightmare. Eventually, slumber found me.
The next morning, I didn't exactly feel well-rested, but I didn't want to concern Wanda nor draw attention to it as I knew it was probably just a rough first night. Instead, I let myself get distracted with Wanda wanting to cook me breakfast.
I soon found myself in the kitchen, sitting at the island and watching Wanda cook some pancakes for us both with an endearing smile on my lips. She was still in her pyjamas like me, her red hair pulled into a messy ponytail as an afterthought, and she radiated beauty. Right there, I could only wish my future looked exactly like this.
My moment of admiration was interrupted when someone came into the kitchen, earning our attention. It was Sam, one of the Avengers and a colleague of Wanda's.
"Good morning, ladies," he greeted with a smile. Already dressed for the day ahead, he asked, "Do I smell pancakes?"
"They're for Y/N, so back off," Wanda said playfully, pointing her spatula at him threateningly.
He raised his hands with defeat as I chuckled.
"Relax, I've got a shake," he said, grabbing said protein shake from the fridge. "Enjoy your pancakes." He glanced to me, expression softening as he added, "And I hope you feel better, Y/N. I heard about your accident."
"Thank you, Sam," I said gratefully, noticing the way Wanda flinched at his words. "I'm already feeling better, so..."
"That's great," he said genuinely, before looking between us. "I'll catch you guys later."
We both waved our goodbyes to him as he left. I wanted to question what was up with Wanda just then, but as Sam left the kitchen, the door slammed shut and startled me more than I thought it would. The noise sounded so familiar, so loud, kind of like what I heard last night in my dream. It must have been the mine when it exploded, a ghost of a memory that was returning. But that didn't seem right. Why didn't that seem right?
"Hey, Y/N, you okay?" Wanda asked, and I looked up, only to notice she was now standing by my side and looking down at me with concern.
I licked my lips, nodding. "Yeah, sorry, I just... yeah. I'm fine."
Her eyes were swimming with doubt, but she chose to say nothing. Instead, to my relief, she pulled me close, giving me a quick hug which I appreciated. As my head rested against her chest, I tried to ignore the familiar striking pain travelling around my forehead.
It was two nights later when another strange dream plagued my sleep. Similar to last time, there was a strange combination of scenes that I was sure I remembered and scenes that made no sense. This time though, all that I could feel was a tenseness in my whole body, like I was in a frozen state and my mind and body couldn't communicate. I couldn't move, paralysed by... fear? Shock? Disbelief? I didn't know what it was, but I woke up in the same way.
I'd heard of sleep paralysis, even experienced it a few times without realising. I think this was one of those times, with my body frozen in bed beside Wanda, but I didn't know it at the time. It just felt like a horribly-real dream. The room was dark, the familiar, yet unsettling, nightly blue hue casting shadows on the wall. But on the ceiling, bright and terrifying scenes played out before me. An explosion. Debris. Screaming.
None of it made sense and all I could feel was shock, horrified at how I couldn't move a muscle even if I tried. I tilted my head, seeing the alarm clock glowing red in the dark, letting me know it was past midnight. To the left, I saw a sleeping Wanda, lost in her dreams and unable to help me. I wanted to get up, run my hands over my face, have some water, open a window, do something. But I couldn't move. All I could do was watch the nightmare dance across the ceiling as my heart struggled to beat regularly and my lungs struggled to get enough oxygen.
I didn't know how long I was stuck like that, tears brimming my eyes and body paralysed with fear. But it finally ended and I opened my eyes, only to find the ceiling blank and myself able to move. Reluctantly, I lifted my hand, wiping the tears from my cheeks. It was just a dream (or form of sleep paralysis in hindsight). It wasn't real. But God, it felt horribly terrifying.
Admittedly, I was scared to go back to sleep for fear it would occur again. So, my eyes stayed wide awake, burning with exhaustion, and I continued to stare at the shadows on the wall, feeling my heart pounding in my ears.
I must have fallen asleep again at some point, as I woke up the next morning to Wanda getting out of bed. Sitting up in bed, I looked around and found the fear of last night wearing off now that the room was bathed in the morning light. Still, I was more shaken than I thought.
Not wanting to draw attention to it though, I let the day go on as usual, deciding to appreciate the free time I had from work to spend with Wanda. We decided to go to the park for a walk – Wanda thought it would help get me out of the Tower and I was hoping the fresh air would give me some clarity and help me to recover.
Only, it did the opposite.
We were walking hand in hand, myself listening to Wanda as she chatted about something that happened in training. If I'm being honest, I wasn't really listening; my thoughts were preoccupied with the jumbled mess that was my mind. Glimpses of memories were dancing across my head, teasing me with elements of the truth I couldn't quite make out.
My eyes drifted around mindlessly, settling on a little girl playing by the swings with her parents. I didn't think much of it, but then the familiar shouts for help from my nightmare plagued my mind, making me flinch. The dark, looming shadow returned and I suddenly felt a headache coming on, the pressure against my brain making me nauseous.
I stopped abruptly, letting go of Wanda's hand. She stopped speaking, turning around and furrowing her brows with concern.
"Hey, Y/N, what's wrong?" she asked, and I winced, clutching my head to relieve the pain.
The wave of nausea left after a moment, but the headache remained. I heard Wanda repeat my name quietly, sensing my discomfort.
"I think I need to see Doctor Maya again," I finally found my words.
"What is it? What's wrong?" she asked, resting a hand on my cheek and tilting my head up to meet her eyes. "You can tell me."
Her eyes were reassuring, calming me in an instant. I wanted to tell her everything, but I didn't want to burden her with my anxieties, so I offered her a small smile.
"I just don't think my recovery is as straightforward as I thought," I settled. "She may be able to help."
Wanda chewed her lower lip, nodding slowly. Thankfully, she didn't question me anymore. Instead, she took me back to the Tower to see Doctor Maya. I was grateful as she waited with me for her to be free, until I had to convince her I'd be okay going in myself.
"Are you sure? I don't mind," she said, exchanging looks with Doctor Maya, who looked away quickly.
I glanced between them, mildly confused, but nodded to Wanda. "I'd rather go alone, Wanda. I'll be okay."
She nodded, squeezed my hands comfortingly, then let me go. When I headed into Doctor Maya's office, she took a seat behind her desk and motioned for me to sit before her.
"You said this was urgent," she spoke first, after I took a seat opposite. "Is everything okay?"
I licked my lips, looking down at my hand as it scratched the arm of the chair nervously. "No... not really."
After a moment of hesitation and partial embarrassment, since I knew this was only supposed to be a mild concussion that felt like so much more, I explained everything that happened to Doctor Maya. The odd dreams/nightmares, the headaches, the overlapping memories and sleep paralysis. As hard as it was to relive, I told her everything in hopes she had an answer that maybe I hadn't realised.
When I finished speaking, she looked distracted with her own thoughts. I waited patiently, watching as she nodded to herself before looking to me calmly.
"It doesn't seem like anything to worry about, truthfully," she said, which I didn't expect. "You suffered a mild concussion, yes, but it must have rattled you more than we thought. The dreams and trouble sleeping are a result of your headaches and returning memories. You do remember what happened, right?"
I nodded, though something felt incorrect. "I think so, yes. I was helping an agent when a mine went off. I was thrown back, covered in debris. Hit my head."
She hummed. "Yes... and you're taking your medication?"
Another nod. "Of course. I just want to get better. The sooner I do, the sooner I can return to work."
"Then it seems that your only opponent is stress and impatience," she said simply. "You need to relax. Keep taking your meds. Try not to worry about returning to work just yet. Focus on getting better. I can prescribe you some sleeping pills if you think that will help."
Sighing disappointedly, I nodded. I was expecting more to be honest, possibly an explanation. Her words made sense logically, but it still didn't feel right. Nonetheless, I didn't want to hold her up any longer, so I let her prescribe me some more medication before leaving. Maybe I'd give relaxing a shot.
"It's a meatball."
I stifled a laugh as I studied the oddly shaped ball of meat in Wanda's hand. "Is it?"
She narrowed her eyes playfully. "It is otherwise you're making your own meal."
I laughed, pressing a haste kiss to her cheek. "Okay, okay, it's a meatball. Add it to the tray."
We were cooking spaghetti and meatballs for dinner about six days after my incident out in the field. I was still staying with Wanda at the Tower, and I was taking Doctor Maya's advice with my recovery. I didn't worry myself with returning to work which, admittedly, helped out, and the sleeping pills knocked me out long enough to get a good sleep. Though, sometimes the nightmares would still return. I didn't think about them too much though, not wanting them to hinder my recovery. Instead, I focused on getting better with my very supportive girlfriend by my side.
Wanda added the meatball to the baking tray, alongside the others, but as she reached to form another one from the bowl full of minced meat, she accidentally knocked it to the floor. The meat splattered across the tiles, making her gasp.
"Shit," she cursed, eyes widening slightly.
"Very clever," I teased with a smile.
"Let me just–"
"I got it," I cut her off, already bending to clear it up. "Just put the tray in the oven, yeah? Try not to drop it."
"Ha-ha, very funny."
I looked up in time to see her rolling her eyes playfully, but she grabbed the tray as I said.
I kneeled down, scooping the meat up and throwing it in the bowl, knowing it would have to go in the bin now. As I did, I realised how familiar the meat looked. Pink and flesh-like, covering my hands and sticking to me. Suddenly, my hands were shaking, the fleshy bits surrounded by blood, and I tried to blink away the sight, expecting to just see minced meat, but I couldn't. They were covered in what I somehow knew was the flesh of body parts.
Startled, I fell back onto my butt, my back hitting the drawer behind me and pulling me from my daydream. Wanda looked down at me with confusion, before sensing something was wrong and leaning down beside me. She rested a hand on my head, thumb stroking my forehead.
"What's wrong?" she asked, confused eyes staring between me and my hands which were still shaking. She grabbed the tea towel from the counter above us before wiping my hands for me and holding them. "Y/N. This has happened a few times. Please tell me what happened."
I was still shaken, unsure why there was a discomfort in the pit of my stomach. I risked glancing at my hands, which were clean and no longer covered in human fle– I mean, meat.
"I don't know what's going on," I finally admitted to her, shaking my head. "It's like my thoughts aren't my own. I can't control them. I just keep seeing stuff that isn't real."
She frowned, eyes peering through mine patiently.
"I still can't remember what happened with the mine," I said, swallowing the lump forming in my throat. "It's like, I know what happened and I know it's real, but when I try to remember, it just doesn't happen quite right. The picture doesn't appear. And I don't know why."
She pressed her lips together, jaw clenching slightly. I wasn't sure what she was thinking, but her eyes wouldn't meet mine.
"What did the doctor say?" she asked lowly.
I sighed, the discomfort still lining my stomach. "She thinks I just need time."
Wanda nodded, finally lifting her gaze. "Maybe she's right."
I knitted my brows together with frustration, nudging her away and standing up. "I don't need time! I'm a doctor, too. I know it shouldn't take this long. It was a mild concussion. I've treated hundreds of those."
"Y/N–"
"Just forget it," I said with exasperation, pulling away from her as she tried to reach out again. I knew it was uncalled for, taking it out on her for no reason, but I was too frustrated with the situation to care. "I think I'm gonna go for a walk."
She sighed from behind me, running a hand through her hair. I left her in the kitchen, suddenly not in the mood to eat. Clearly all of Doctor Maya's advice wasn't working – what I was experiencing wasn't normal. I needed to see her again.
So, after cleaning my hands properly and having a walk around the Tower to clear my head (as expected, it didn't work), I headed to Doctor Maya's office, hoping she was still in work today. To my surprise, when I reached her office, I saw her door was slightly ajar and she was already speaking to someone. My intention wasn't to eavesdrop, but when I heard my name said in a hushed whisper from a familiar voice, I knew I had to stay.
"...can't say anything," Wanda finished. "She'll get better."
Doctor Maya sounded frustrated. "It's not right, Miss Maximoff. This is against everything I stand for. Against everything Y/N stands for, too, I'm sure."
"This is for her benefit," Wanda snapped, before taking a deep breath. "Look, she can't handle the truth. It'll break her... I haven't worked out the kinks, but it'll be okay. She'll get better."
What the hell were they talking about? What truth could I not handle? Wanda and the doctor were in on something together, something they didn't want me to know... and it was something to do with why I was feeling like how I was. I knew I wasn't going insane – something was wrong!
I left them to it with plans of seeing the doctor afterwards, not wanting to get caught, and tried to wrap my head around the fact that Wanda had been keeping something from me this whole time. How could she? I didn't want to jump to conclusions, but I thought that we could trust each other.
What was she hiding?

“It’s just Bucky,” Steve waved for you to get your hand off your gun.
“What’s he doing here?” you left the pistol on the metal table and went back to the pot of canned soup.
You stirred the pot and looked around at the small safehouse as you heard the car door and the ensuing steps. You tapped the excess broth from the metal and turned back to cross your arms as you leaned on the counter.
“He does realise we’re hiding out here?”
“I asked him to come and have a look at these,” Steve jabbed his finger towards the manila file as he peeked out between the slats across the window.
“Wha-- I already translated them for you,” you huffed, “and we don’t have enough soup for him.”
“He knows Hydra better than anyone, he can tell us what the symbols mean,” Steve took a deep breath.
“We could have waited and got them back to intel in New York--”
The deadbolt turned and you shut up as Steve pulled the door open. You turned back to the stove and watched the soup. You had no issue with Bucky really but the last time you saw him, he’d confessed things to you that made it hard to look at him. And he hadn’t reacted well when you didn’t reciprocate.
“There,” you listened to the two men move around, noting that you didn’t even get a hey from the third agent, “thanks for coming, Buck.”
“Mhmm,” you heard the chair groan tellingly and you turned off the burner.
You took out two metals bowls with a clink and poured the beefy stew into them. You added a spoon to each and turned to hand one off to Steve as he sat on the only other chair. You stood by the counter and slurped yours.
“It’s a map,” Bucky said, “the star, the five points,” he took out his phone and flipped through. He leaned forward and pointed to five different cities, “up in Siberia, Hydra checkpoints.”
“Shit,” Steve sat back as he scooped up his soup, “well, we should’ve caught that.”
“How could you, it’s not exactly marked on Google,” Bucky closed the folder and placed his phone on top of it, “how much longer you here?”
“Couple days at most,” Steve answered and you felt entirely ignored in the two way conversation.
You gulped down your food straight from the brim and rinsed your bowl. You wiped off your hands and checked the time on your watch. You took your gun and cleared the chamber.
“Early morning,” you said, “I’m gonna hit the hay, let you guys catch up.”
“Alright,” Steve set his bowl down on the small square table beside him.
“Night,” Bucky said, his first word to you, “sweet dreams.” His voice trailed after you and you felt both watching you as you pushed into the bedroom. You didn’t look back as the door clicked behind you.
You and Steve settled in easy to the meagre safehouse. There were missions you slept on concrete or in dirt so the dusty old mattress you shared wasn’t anything to gripe about. You changed into your plain grey sweats and your military issued matching tee.
You dropped down onto the mattress and listened to the drone of the male tones through the wall. You stretched and rolled onto your side and closed your eyes. Hopefully he sent Bucky away by morning.
You grumbled and rolled over as the other side of the mattress shifted. You hid your face in the pillow as you hugged it with one arm. You tried to ignore Steve as he settled onto the flattened springs. You needed whatever rest you could force out of the short nights.
You went rigid as you felt his warmth against your back and his arm wrapped around your middle. You grabbed his wrist and froze. The vibranium was shockingly cool against your palm. Your eyes shot open as you were pulled flush against Bucky and Steve lowered himself on your other side.
“What the fuck are you doin--”
The vibranium fingers smothered your voice and you grunted in surprise at Steve’s nakedness. Your hand grazed against Bucky’s nude thigh and your heart began to pound. You reached for Bucky’s wrist again and Steve snatched away your arm and slung it over his shoulder.
You mumbled into the hand across your mouth and tried to push away from Bucky. You only served to brush his prodding excitement with your ass as your other hand beat against Steve’s chest. You tried to shake your head as the super soldier in front of you tugged at your loose pants.
You threw your head back and Bucky grunted and retracted his hand as you smashed your skull into his nose. You drew your hand from over Steve’s shoulder and punched him across the jaw. You pushed yourself up and tripped as Steve kept hold of the sweats and you fell at the foot of the bed.
You were tugged back as Bucky swore and flipped over as you reached for the end of the mattress. Steve peeled away your pants and you kicked out at him as the other soldier cradled his bloody nose. He spat a glob of saliva and blood onto the floor and got to his knees to help Steve wrangle you in.
They pinned your arms above your head as you kept kicking and flailing, snarling at them.
“What the fuck? Let me go?” you gritted.
“It didn’t have to be like this,” Bucky growled and sniffed as the blood trickled from his nostril, “I was nice and patient.”
“Steve,” you hissed at the blond, “you’re really gonna let him do this?”
“Him?” Steve’s jaw ticked, “Us.”
“What--” you grunted and fought harder, bringing a knee up far enough to catch Bucky’s ribs.
Both soldiers turned to grab your thighs and held you flat to the bed, gripping both wrist and legs. They looked at each other over your body and shared a conspiratorial moment.
“We should have sedated her,” Steve said.
“No, I want her to feel it when I fill her up,” Bucky scowled, “you got ties?”
Steve stared back a moment then nodded. They flipped you over and Bucky quickly straddled you as he twisted your arms back and held them to the middle of your back. Steve got up and disappeared through the open door.
“Why are you doing this?” you huffed.
“Why’d you lead me on?” Bucky snarled.
“I didn’t--”
“You didn’t,” he scoffed, “no you just flirted with me then laughed in my face.”
“That’s not what happened,” you wriggled and he squeezed you between his thick thighs.
“I wanted more than this but… you’re good stock, strong,” he fingers tightened painfully on your wrists, “all the genetic markers for a successful term.”
“What--”
“Shut up,” he stretched his fingers around both your wrists and freed a hand to pin your head down. Steve entered and you could only watch his feet as he neared. You closed your eyes as he got to his knees and Bucky helped him bind your wrists. “You got anything to gag her with?” the latter asked.
There was silence and you were lifted again and put on your back, your head between the pillows. You flung a leg up and it was caught easily. Your legs were forced down and your ankles held far apart. You opened your eyes and watched Bucky step between your legs as Steve kept your feet in place.
“Steve, don’t let him do this,” you begged, “please, whatever you’re thinking--”
Bucky dropped to his knees and his hand grasped your throat. He applied enough pressure to smother your voice.
“He’ll have his turn too,” Bucky wiped away the last of the blood from his nose with the back of his real hand then shoved it between your legs.
You gasped as he poked around impatiently. He moved closer and you felt his tip against you. Your hands throbbed as you laid atop them painfully and you whined through your tight throat. Steve’s hold on your didn’t waver as your legs tensed at Bucky’s violent intrusion.
He slammed into you so that your back arched and you pushed your shoulder down into the mattress. Your breath crackled in the air as his fingers squeezed firmer with each long thrust. The mattress shifted with his motion as he rutted into you.
He stretched his finger up your cheek and turned your head straight. He bent over you as his hips kept their pace. “Look at me,” he rasped and your eyes met his stormy one, “that’s it, I want you to look at me as I fill you up.”
He fucked you harder and panted as you gasped past his grip on your neck. Your ankles were released but you could do nothing as Bucky brought his legs back under yours and pushed them wide. He leaned most of his weight on your throat as he rammed into you.
“I want you to… remember,” he said through thick breaths, “the moment I… fill you up…” he bared his teeth and thrust frantically, “the moment you… become a mother.”
His voice fizzled and he bent to rest his forehead against yours as he came. You whimpered as his hand slipped from your throat and he slowed his hips. You tried to move your wrists as your fingers throbbed painfully.
He sighed and lifted himself off of you. He slipped out and you winced at the warmth leaking from your cunt. You couldn’t look at them as their figures moved at the edge of your vision.
You were flipped over again. Weak, your resistance was met with a sharp slap to the back of the head. You lifted to your knees and Bucky stood in front of you as Steve got behind you on the mattress, his legs between yours as he gripped your hip.
Bucky stroked his dick as he gazed down at you. He shivered with the overstimulation but barely softened as he kept on. Steve angled himself past your ass and squeezed until you tilted your hips. He slid into you and groaned as he reached his limit.
“Ah, please,” you lowered your head and Bucky caught your chin.
He shushed you and pressed his tip to your lips as Steve began to rock cautiously behind you. Bucky pushed past your lips and sank down your throat as he forced your head back. Steve’s hot breaths grew ragged as a sharp clap came with each deliberate thrust.
“You take him so well, just not as good as you take me,” Bucky purred as he glided in and out of your mouth, your spit dripping down your chin and smeared around your mouth. He grabbed your head between both hands and rubbed your cheekbones with his thumbs as he moaned in delight, “fuck, I hate to waste it on your mouth,” he rasped, “better fill her up good, Steve.”
The man behind you seemed enlivened by his name. His hand went to your neck and he felt Bucky inside of you. Steve crashed into your harder and faster, the noise of wet cunt around him added to the steady slapping of skin. Your eyes rolled back as you struggled to breath and your body struggled to adjust to the constant barrage.
You almost choked as Bucky emptied himself down your throat and coughed as he pulled out. He let you fall forward onto your face as Steve kept his rampant pace. Your cunt thrummed around him and your entire body ached as he reached his peak. He slammed you back and held you there as he came in a fit of spasms.
Steve hummed and tickled your ass as Bucky lifted your head and poked his thumb into your mouth. The soldier in front of you helped push you up as Steve sat back and you were held in his lap, completely full with him.
“Got your story straight?” Bucky asked as Steve began to move you again.
“Think so,” Steve panted and Bucky rolled your tee shirt up and hooked it behind your head. He bent and played with your chest as Steve fucked you from below.
“She went missing, right? You got that intel but she was gone. You called me to help find her,” Bucky paused and teased your nipple between his teeth, “got it?”
“Got it,” Steve leaned back and groaned as he moved you in his lap.
“Don’t…” you begged in a desperate whisper.
“We’ll take care of you,” Bucky trailed his nose between your tits, “for the baby’s sake.”

____________________________________________
Park Seonghwa
He slowly traced the knife over your naked body, you laying on the bed, cuffed and blindfolded. The only thing heard were your tiny whimpers, until his chuckle broke the silence. „What’s wrong, baby, did I ruin your plans?” Well, he did. Yes, you might be dumb for trying to run away, but it seemed so easy. Seonghwa was gone, going grocery shopping and since you weren’t locked in your room this night, you took that opportunity and broke the tiny bathroom window (since the other doors & windows were locked). So as you were trying to squeeze yourself through that window, Seonghwa returned. Scared and confused about his early return, he told you about the cameras. After harshly pulling you out of that widow, he got you into your current state. You cried, begged and tried to apologize but he didn’t wanted to listen to you. „Pathetic” said the male in front of you with an angry yet unimpressed face. The sound of his belt was heard. „Let’s teach you a proper lessen, yea?”
Tumblr media
Kim Hongjoong
He told you to follow his rules, or there will be bad consequences. You didn’t listen. Oh how dumb you are to beak one of his most important rules. „Please, I will do everything you want but please stop!” you cried out loudly. Hongjoong only looked at you with his demonic eyes, smirking at you. „Oh, you want me to stop?” he mocked you with a voice, similar to your own. „Want me to stop pulling out your nails, to stop with the constant whipping and punching and to stop biting your skin so it doesn’t bleed? No, slut, I am not gonna stop, because I’ve told you many times not to break the rules. I’ve told you to never try and run away from me, but, you didn’t listen. So take responsibility for your actions and live with the consequences, dumb pet.”
Tumblr media
Jeong Yunho
„You’ve hurt me.” said the guy in front of you, disappointed and angry. „Yunho, I am so sorry, but I can’t do this anymore, please try to understand me.” you cried, kneeling in front of him, hands behind your back. „No, I don’t understand, and I won’t ever understand and do you know why? Because I give you everything you want, everything you can dream of, take care of you and love you to death, and this is the way you repay me? Are you serious, Y/N?” He started to form tears in his eyes while talking. Honestly, you felt kinda bad and ashamed because he was right. He actually really treats you like a royalty, expect for not letting you out of course. He never forgot to buy your favorite flowers before coming home and he never failed to realize when you felt down, taking care of you and not leaving your side for a second. „I am sorry, but I need to show you that you can’t always have it your way, baby. You’ve tested my patience... Come on turn around and get on all fours.”
Tumblr media
Kang Yeosang
Stupid. That’s what Yeosang thought of you right now. How could you be so stupid, asking his friends for help? Since you knew his phone password, you texted his friends and tried to explain what kind of a psycho your boyfriend was and that you needed help to escape. Of course, no one believed you. After deleting everything, you putted his phone back, sitting on the couch quietly. „Here.” your boyfriend gave you a bowl of popcorn, starting the movie you were planning to watch. After 10 minutes, Yeosang took his phone from under the pillow, checking what you were up to since he saw how you typed on it before. One of his best friends, Wooyoung, texted him, asking about what his lover told them earlier. Yeosang got red out of anger. „Hey, baby?” he asked. You slowly turned you head in his direction, panicking. „Yes?”. „Did you play with my phone?”. Silence. Now he looked at you and before anything else, you felt his fist in your face. Not once or twice but around 12 times in a row, face starting to bleed. „Stupid thing, what do you think you are doing?! I will make you regret this.”
Tumblr media
Choi San
„Yea, you like that, slut?” growled the male behind you. He’s in the middle of ripping your ass apart, punishing you for trying to run away. You idiot thought you could cuff him to the bed while he was sleeping and take his keys to get out of there. Oh how dumb you are. „You little piece of shit, I am going to hurt you so bad. How dare you to pull something like this, huh?!” did the psycho scream at you. He turned you around, grabbing your neck, putting pressure on it and spitting on your face. Then he started slapping you in the face. „Learn your place, pet. Don’t you dare to do something as stupid as this again because next time, I am not only going to break those pretty legs but your arms too, is this understood?”. You only nodded, too terrified to speak. „Good. Now let me get a knife, so I can crave my name into your beautiful soft skin, hm?”
Tumblr media
Song Mingi
You were tied to a chair, sitting in the cold and scary basement. Slowly, you heard the door opening. Mingi entered the room looking at you coldly. He had a small bag in his left hand, slowly placing it on the table a few feet from you. He then opened the bag, pulling out a hammer, a knife and an axe. He stared at them for a minute, until he took the axe into his hand and came towards your frightened figure. You began to panic, violently shaking your head. „Oh my god, please don’t.” you begged. As he didn’t stop, you closed your eyes. He kneeled down in front of you, placing the axe above your left knee. „I’ve told you to never run. I’ve told you that if you do something as stupid as this, I will hurt you. Not because I want to, but because I have to.” After finishing his sentence, he raised his hand, ready to chop you leg off.
Tumblr media
Jung Wooyoung
You’ve seen this boy get mad, but this time he was completely different. This boy was an ass, now adding more annoyance and brutality to it. He made fun of your crying figure, calling you a crybaby and telling you to shut up. „Cut it. I said that I don’t want to hear your fucking voice. Annoying brat.” did he say while giving you another harsh spank with his belt. Your whole body felt numb at this point. Even if you wanted to move, you just couldn’t. „Ohhh, already giving in?” He laughed. „Come on you can do better than that. Straighten that back!” he started yelling at you. Since you failed to move nor talk, you remind quiet, angering him even more. He pulled you up by your hair so you could look him deep into his eyes. He then started to smirk „Oh, we will have so much fun tonight!”
Tumblr media
Choi Jongho
Smack! A few more following close behind. Your ass probably had the shades of red, no, purple by now. I mean, Jongho is a strong man, of course his hits are a lot harder. He had you bend over his leg for over 30 minutes now, not a single glimpse of pity. You felt how the blood floated over your tights all the way to the ground. „What? Does it hurt?” you couldn’t make out any emotions in his voice. Was he still mad or was he trying to show some sympathy? You nodded your head, hoping that he would stop. But the only thing coming out of his mouth was a simple „Good.” When he stood up, you thought it was over but dang it, how dumb you were to think that. He placed you on the bed, then took his clothes off. He grabbed his phone and told you to strip. He stared filming you while so, fucking you roughly afterwards, still filming. „After our little session, I will send and post this everywhere so everyone know who you belong to and who’s names matters to you. Show everyone how good you can be for me, come on.”

but also this was v cute! I assumed u meant famous!reader, sorry if that's not what u were after at all anon x
summary: Tom Holland turns into the readers knight in shining armour when they get ill during promo
warnings: fainting / feeling ill
///////////////////
It couldn’t be today. Of all days, why today? You’d been at home for two weeks doing absolutely nothing, before this trip. And yet it’s when your itinerary is packed to the brim, people moving heaven and earth just speak to you. Two weeks of unrelenting press for Marvels next big ensemble movie.
Your manager was speaking to you, reeling off a run down of todays activities but instead of listening you nodded along blankly - head rather cloudy with this heavy mist that was not shaking off, no matter how hard you tried.
“You got that Y/n/n?” Lucy pointedly spoke, eyes almost physically knocking you backwards as if her eyeliner was battery rams. Fumbling with your thoughts, your answer wasn’t particularly cohesive earning you just a disappointed head shake.
“I um… yeh I think. Who-who did you say I was paired up with?”
“Y/n please for the love of god. Tom, like I said the past fifty times.” And to be fair to Lucy she wasn’t wrong. It was the first major major promo tour for the both of you and after just two days so far - you were both exhausted. She was more than allowed to be a bit short tempered.
“But we-we hardly know each other? The chemistry won’t be there and-“
“As I said, I tried to re-jig it but Kevin is of the mind that acting is your job.” Her tone was sharp but as she glared across the opposing seats, in the little mini van Marvel had hired for you as transportation, her eyes softened. Lucy had been so wrapped up in her own stress she may have overlooked quite how gingerly you were sitting. By the time she had arrived at the hotel, your stylist had already managed to half save your ghoulish looking face, with sunken under eyes and tired skin, so it wasn’t so blatantly obvious how crap you were feeling.  “Is everything okay with you?”
It felt pretty puny to say that the jet lag from flying to Tokyo had been weighing you down further than you wanted, or that the local cuisine top chefs had kindly prepared for you last night wasn’t siting well in your stomach. To be honest, even you thought it was just your body being a bit overdramatic. So in response, you put on your best happy-go-lucky face feigning a smile.
“No no I’m fine, just want to give the best interviews I can and you know…. I’m awkward as hell as it is, then pair me with the most talented actor that I share about two minutes of screen time with…it’ll be interesting.”
The way Lucy reacted with a weird slow nod, eyebrows furrowed, meant it was quite apparent you had perhaps overplayed that one. Had you not been so over the day before it even began, you would’ve tried again to give a more believable act. But as you were, you turned your attention back out to the bustling streets of Tokyo and the high rise buildings bordering each pavement.
You didnt have a problem with Tom, far from it in fact. Tom was hilarious and the times you had met him, you’d both built up this weird and sarcastic competitiveness with each other. It was a game of who could get the last laugh, each of you pushing each other with the Mickey taking just a little further. Of course, not in a malicious way, just the way you’d both lived pretty similar but parallel careers - when everyone drew comparisons between the both of you, it was nice to make it a joke.
Like Tom you’d also started out on stage, had a ‘big break’ movie as a kid and then spent your teenage years on and off film sets - till marvel happened. Then everything blew up to epic proportions, changing your life forever. Actually, it was so similar to Tom’s story, plus the fact you were also from the south west of the UK. It was bizarre your paths hadn’t crossed more - He probably could’ve been a useful ally in the the whole ‘becoming famous’ thing.
And yet, you could probably count on two hands the amount of conversations you’d had with him.
Now that, that was the issue. Right from the beginning you learn what the press want and when you are publicising a movie you cater into it too. They’d all be asking for the insider scoop on set; what pranks you’d pulled on each other; what was the most annoying thing about each other. Which is hard if you’d only had 5 or 6 days actually on set together.
By the time the cab had wormed its way through the Tokyo traffic and you arrived at the PR hotel, it was already 9:30 - making you 15 minutes late (blame it on the traffic). Instantly then you were ushered straight to the interview room for the evening, no chance of green room chat or grabbing a drink before. The place was stuffy, everything was draped with black curtains except the poster board that Tom was already sitting infront of.
He’d scrubbed up well, no doubt about it. He was wearing statement-ish burgundy suit trousers, teamed with a black knitted but collared shirt thing - that was clearly tailor made for the man. As soon as he noticed you scurry into the room, his face broke out into a warm smile, jumping up to greet you in a friendly hug. It was brief, and as you pulled back you accidentally bumped your head on one of the overhanging lights. No doubt someone had spent a ridiculous amount of time configuring them so they were positioned perfectly, which you had just ruined with your big head.
“Oh shit!” Tom just laughed in response, shaking his head slightly as he lead you the two steps across to your pre-positioned seats.
“Making an entrance as always I see!”
“Yeh, you know me, a bit of chaos just to keep everyone on their toes.”
“Oh is that why you’re ‘fashionably late’” With a playful wiggle of his eyebrows, you just rolled your eyes, fidgeting on the chair to find a position that didnt aggravate  your stomach so much.
“I’m ready now though! What did I miss? Just having to pretend to be your friend for 15 minutes?” You stressed the words as though the thought of conversation with Tom was the absolute worst thing in the world - which you definetly didnt think. Scowling like you’d insulted his dog Tessa, it was almost visible how the cogs were turning in his head looking for a comeback. Unfortunately for him though, he was quickly shut up but the organiser bringing the first interviewer in .
For what would, no doubt, be a long day.
////
Everything had started off so well, the banter was flowing between you and Tom, no major spoilers revealed that meant Marvel would have to make the journalist disappear. It was once you hit an hour of back-to-back interviews that everything started to crack bit. Because yes, it had only been an hour but that was enough to exhaust you on this particular day. When Tom joked around you got slower and slower, similarly the  energy was zapped from your own answers. It’s not very compelling when someone says ‘you have to watch this movie’ in a monotonous voice with sullen eyes.
As the interviewers were swapping in and out, Tom actually lightly nudged your shoulder.
“Everything alright? We’re trying to sell tickets and you’ve got a face like thunder.”
“Oh no-no sorry I just, I-um.”
“You want some water?” Now looking at your with more concerned eyes, as if he was just nervous he’d actually offended you for calling you a boring bastard. And you would’ve picked up on it and alleviated his concerns, if it weren’t for the fact your eyes were glued on the water bottle he was holding out to you. You were thirsty. You knew that, that wasn’t the conundrum. What you weren’t so sure about was whether your stomach would accept it, or more violently reject it. In a very non ‘we’re-trying-to-sell-a-movie’ style.
But the lightheaded fogginess in your brain won out, as you nodded jerkily, taking the bottle and taking a little swig - too cautious to take anymore.
Now concerned with how Tom thought you were being a Debby-downer too, you managed to perk yourself up for the next four interviews. They were easy, asking questions without any activity and though you did rely on Tom beefing out and adding to your answers, it was okay. Then the next interviewer came in, who you recognised as being from the BBC, Ali Plumb, that had interviewed you a number of times. From the way Tom jumped up to give him afirendly bro-hug, you guessed he also was familiar with him. As soon as he took a seat the cameras were already flashing with the red light, demonstrating his 7 minutes had already started.
“Guys! It’s been a while.”
“How are you Ali?” You started it off with the pleasantries, Tom echoing, before the speccy dirty-blonde asked his first question.
“So the last time I spoke to you guys the universe was in chaos, Peter Parkers on the run and Aurora Blake was trying to strip her own powers, so I guess my first question is how are you both doing? We can use this as a therapy session if you guys need.” His very typical nerdy joke made Tom laugh, nodding as he leaned forward and repositioned a bit.
You didn’t share the same humour though, more focused on this invisible blanket of stuffiness that seemed to have been thrown on top of you. It made you feel groggy, incredibly hot and so unbelievable nauseous. The lights weren’t helping either, it felt like you were pouring with sweat from your forehead. You thought Tom was answering Ali, even if you couldn’t really hear  - everything had merged into a deafening roar. Adrenaline coursed through your veins, unconsciously making you fumble yourself to standing, desperate to get somewhere with fresh air. The last thing you saw before your vision tunnelled into darkness was Tom, reaching out to try and catch you.
Because next thing you knew, you were on the floor, wires from all the cameras and lights digging into your back as you looked up to see Tom on one side and Lucy on the other - both wearing a similarly panicked expression. You knew you hadn’t been out long, seconds if that, going by the fact everyone else was in the ‘oh my god’ phase of panic. It was a bit weird how calm you where, but then again all your life you’d been the ‘class fainter’. Waking up on the floor was something you were long since used to.
“Y/n? You awake?” Rather stating the obvious Tom asked the question as you bent your head up - allowing you sight of all the concerned facing oggling you. With a defeated sigh, you flopped your head back.
“If this is a dream then it’s a real bloody nightmare.” This time Tom didnt seem to appreciate your joke, looking at you without almost dumbfounded eyes, as you blinked repetitively and groaned.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Lucy appeared to want to lecture you, which to be honest wasn’t the most time appropriate. You were still on the floor, legs crumpled up under you, so ignored her. Instead you pulled yourself up into a sitting position, taking a moment to blink away the blotchy haze that threatened to takeover your vision once again, whilst the pair above you both cautiously rested their palms on each of your shoulders -trying to be useful. The room still felt cramped and stifling, as everyone around were no doubt looking at you.
It took a few minutes but your body seemed to get over itself, sitting up normally and trying to make small talk with Ali - who, by the way, was still sat awkwardly in the chair. Still nestled on the floor, your back up against the chair you had been siting on as you raved with Ali of the Harry Potter theatre show. In a natural lull in conversation, Tom perked up - from the door where he’d been muttering with the organiser as Lucy bit her nails nervously.
“Y/n you need to go home.”
All of you knew what Tom said was impossible. Not being egotistical, but you were too important. Although you hadn’t been paying masses of attention for Lucy’s run down of your itinerary - you knew it was packed.
So you just looked up and rolled your eyes at Tom, earning yourself a strong glare, before locking the organiser in eye contact.
“How many have we got till lunch?”
“Um this gent here” He gesturned toward Ali, who was almost squirming in his seat now “then two more.”
“And then lunch?”
“Yes, then you have a personal appearance at a dinner, so transport will be coming to pick you both up.” This poor guy seemed obsessed with the clock and his timetable, looking at your with a mixture of panic and frustration. You should know this stuff, you should’ve listened to Lucy.
“How fars the drive?”
“At this time probably an hour and a half.”
The plan was clear in your head, you’d sort yourself out in the car and be fully fine by the afternoon and evening engagements. Plus you felt almost fine now. So with a sigh, you hauled yourself up onto the chair, patting for Tom to sit back down.
“It’s half an hour and then I’ll sort myself out at lunch - come on their waiting.” The way Lucy pouted showed she disagreed somewhat, except a stern look kept her from protesting, as Tom walked toward you.
“Are you sure you don’t loo-“
“Let me stop you before you insult my appearance.” Snickering slightly at his worried face, you laughed it off , knocking his side with a gentle murmur of ‘don’t worry about me’.
In fact after that little episode you did feel a little recovered, which meant you were properly noticing the change in the boy sat next to you. Throughout the remaining three interviews he’d done a complete 360 from earlier. Rather than trying to get little digs at you, he had become fiercely protective - jumping in if a questions wasn’t particularly appropriate or relevant to the movie ( meaning when an awfully crap man asked what underwear you’d been able to wear in your suit) ; taking the heat of the conversation as well as just watching you like a hawk. Each time you answered his beady brown eyes were watching you from the side, you got the impression it wasn’t only just because of the risk of spoilers.
Quite remarkably, you survived the rest of the day pretty well, after a power nap in the car on the way over - even if it was a bit difficult when you had your manager watching you like a hawk from the seat across. It was as if Lucy had never seen anyone ill before, she seemed concerned that you were going to spontaneously stop breathing and die at any point.
Though by the time all the official business at the dinner was done, your body and willpower had reached the end of their tether. You and Tom were both on a round table, surrounded by 6 CEOs and execs of what seemed to be a multimillion pound business enterprise. With the language barrier meaning you had to speak through the two people on the table who were fluent in both japanese and English, the conversation was already pretty jilted. Though to be fair, the six did seem to be enjoying the evening - something you werent able to reciprocate. Thankfully, five minutes after the main course dishes had been collected, Tom spoke up from his position opposite you.
“This has been lovely and we really appreciate your time and generosity but me and Y/n have a really early start tomorrow so I think we should probably get back to the hotel.” You swore in that moment you could’ve kissed him, and it looked like Tom could tell - by the way your shoulders sagged and you let out an exhale of pure relief. Apparently even if you’d managed to convince the hosts you were enjoying the evening, Tom easily saw through the performance. After some hurried goodbyes, Tom led you out of the hall with his hand hovering over your lowerback, trying to make sure your exit was as discreet as possible.
Away from the bubble of chatter and activity, in the deserted hallway, Tom stopped you - lightly holding both hands on each of your arms.
“Wheres your team?”
“Um Luce is back at the hotel, she was trying to see if she could reschedule any of my stuff tomorrow.” You winced at the way he sighed, realising you were all on your own in some random business event hall in Tokyo.
“Harry -my brother- is waiting in the car at the front - is that okay?”
“No Tom, don’t worry abo-“
“Yeh well I am and I think you feel ten times worse than you’re letting on.” He spoke harshly, like a school teacher telling you off - except the hint of a kind smile at the end was a dead giveaway.
“You sure?”
With a relieved nod (Tom had thought you might be a bit more stubborn - you obviously were really really ill) he wordlessly shrugged his suit jacket off, wrapping it round your shoulders. He muttered something about not wanting you to catch a chill but to be quite honest you were a bit distracted by the woody cedar smell of Toms aftershave that enveloped your senses. Maybe it wasn’t so bad being fussed on by him? To be fair he wasn’t wrong either, you were in a strapless evening dress - you would’ve preferred to be in joggers, but Marvels press team had other ideas.
After a quick pit stop at the toilets, the two of you managed to make an unnoticed escape out the building - into a big SUV which had seconds prior pulled up onto the steps. You literally melted into the nearest window seat, body hunching over as you probably crumpled Tom’s jacket beyond belief. 2 seats along from you, a frizzy haired boy gave you a sympathetic smile, which you returned weakly whilst muttering a ‘hi’. Meanwhile, Tom pulled the sliding door shut, sitting across from you.
“Oh Y/n this is Harry and Harry this is Y/n.” In unison both of you replied with an ‘I know’ eye roll. Your response was somewhat more shocking to both Holland boys, you could tell from the way they had this whole nonverbal conversation with their eyes - they were very clearly brothers. Needing to explain you continued. “I like to keep tabs on my castmates, I’ve seen you on Toms instagram.” That had both boys smirking, Harry presumably just because you knew who he was; Tom more smugly, you’d just given away you slightly stalked him on instagram.
Silence reigned for a moment, as the driver put his foot down slightly.
“How you doing?” Tom asked.
“Mhm…” you thought for a second, how to eloquently describe the sensation.
“shit.”
Both boys chuckled a little and even though you had closed your eyes in an attempt to dull the throbbing behind your temples, you could feel the eyes on you.
“You want the music off?” Harry asked, referring to the indie-rock coming quietly out the speakers of his laptop, which was resting on his lap. With a shake of your head you refused, even if really silence probably would help your head, you were already causing the two Hollands enough trouble - no need to bore them during the journey back into central Tokyo, especially when you weren’t the most enthusiastic company ever.
Thankfully the music stayed on a low volume, whilst the car seemed to settle into a comfortable silence. With a long exhale you fluttered your eyes open, seeing Tom focused on his phone, before you rested the side of your head against the black-out glass. Taking some relief from the cool glass, you huddled further into the corner of the car against the door.
Floating in the space between sleep and wakefulness, you were kind of aware of your head occasionally bobbing and jerking about - but really didn’t have the energy or willpower to do anything about it. Instead, the thing that perked your attention was hearing some supposed-whispering from inside the body of the car.
“I know she said she didn’t care but she was clearly lying-“
“Like you know! You’ve been desperate to try and spend some time with Y/n- maybe you poisoned her just so you could be all knight-in-shini-“
“Turn. The. Music. Off.” Tom sounded scathing now, and with a grumble from your other-side the cheery drum beats ceased.
“Happy now?” …and Harry was sarcastic.
“Swap places with me.”
“What?”
“Just do it.”
“Why?”
“So she can lie down.”
“Well no because you would still be in the way if we swapped.”
“Yeh but she can lie on my lap idiot.”
“She can lie on me.”
“She doesn’t know you!”
“Well for 1, barely ten minutes ago she said she did know me. And 2, she doesn’t know you any better!”
If this was their version of whispering, you would love to hear what volume ‘shouting’ was. There was no reply for a short while, you imagined the two brunettes locked in some intense staring match. The next time Tom spoke he sounded more defeated - almost begging.
“If I admit you beat me at the driving range the other day will you-”
“I KNEW IT!” Harry yelped, the volume making you jerk, eyes flying open before reflexively closing because the light was too bright. There was a little mutter of an apology, then silence again.
Once agin you must’ve drifted off because it felt like absolutely no time had passed when a firm but gently hand on your shoulder nudged you awake.
Sure enough the boys had swapped position, Tom now sitting along the seat from you, Harry looked a little sulky from across the way. It was Tom who was reaching over, a gentle and peaceful smile on his face.
“You wanna lie down? Don’t want you to strain your neck.” He wasn’t wrong, adding to the throbbing headache, the cloudiness in your brain and the unsettled feeling in your stomach… now your neck hurt. Just bloody great.
Had you been your normal witty and perceptive self, you might’ve teased Tom as to why him and his brother had done a switch - but everything hurt and all you wanted to do was sleep for a hundered years. So with squinting eyes you jerkily nodded, missing how Tom chuckled to himself. The guy undid your seatbelt, then sat back to let you balance the back of your head on his thigh, looking up at the roof of the SUV. Already your eyes were closed again, you kicked off your slip-on heels and bent your legs up to lean against the backrest - occupying the position you had been sat in before hand. You felt his hands reposition the jacket, pulling it round so it was now like a blanket tucked under your chin.
To be fair it was much more comfortable than sitting up and you weren’t even aware of how quickly you dropped back into sleep.
Though it wasn’t quick enough to miss Harry’s very sulky sounding comment, presumably meant only for Tom’s ears.
“Still think you’re being fucking creepy bro.”
<33 lemme know what u think! (would make me feel less guilty for not doing all the work I rlly should be doing aha)

A headache started immersing itself into your skull, hitting all your nerves at once to the point of having you totter for a few seconds. Once you finally got a grip on yourself, you decided to take your crying baby in your arms in order to desperately calm her down. You closed your eyes as you rocked her, feeling frustration, exhaustion and annoyance bubbling inside your entire body. This torrent of emotions crashing into you didn’t help with your headache, only to have it spreading at the back of your neck to your shoulders. Sitting down inside your rock chair, the cries of your small daughter didn’t subside, you almost had the feeling that they increased.
“Shht baby, I know it hurts, calm down love,” you said as you stroked her cheek with your thumb, tears gathered in your eyes as you felt helpless. It was wonderful to have a baby, you had never felt this happy in life, but it was a whole other responsibility. There were many ups and downs, but never once have you regretted giving birth to your beautiful daughter.
Today, you were more on the downside of the life of a mother. Despite all the efforts and pieces of advice you received from books or other mothers, your daughter seemed to not be ready to sleep through the night yet, forcing you to stay awake until dawn, only getting dozens of minutes of rest each night. Bringing up a child on your own was not impossible, but it was certain that it was hard. Hearing your friends that had husbands or partners willingly taking the reins so they could rest had you envious, and somewhat feeling guilty.
The baby daddy was never there, only supporting from afar through small amounts of money. At the beginning of your motherhood, you hated it but almost begged him to come and help you, but he always claimed that he had better things to do and that you should already be grateful that he was willing to financially support you two.
What kind of father did you give your daughter? Where did the gentleman and the caring boyfriend from a few years ago go? Who decided to replace him with a rich asshole that only cared about his appearance and his own health?
The tears threatened to fall as you thought of all this while rocking your daughter back and forth, the side of her cheek against your chest as she kept on yelling in pain. It hurt to see her in this state, you wished you could take the pain away from her, but sadly, you had to assist her in her teething process as best as you could, which meant only cradling her and kissing her.
However, your daughter seemed to have another sense, a sixth one if we could call it that way, and she knew when you were stressed or angry, two emotions that were currently pulsating in your veins and controlling your entire being. You wanted to scream and cry just like her, but you resisted the temptation, you had to stay strong for your daughter. The process was hard you two, but one of you was about to burst and lose her mind. Your breathing pattern picked up, became irregular, the crying of your baby only increasing.
Clutching your teeth, the tears finally spurted out of your eyes violently, uncontrollably cascading down your face onto your daughter’s pyjamas. While a tidal wave of emotions burst into your mind, you remembered one thing many mothers, as well as your own once told you: Never. Ever. Shake your baby out of pure rage or despair. No matter how exhausted or frustrated you are, pass it onto someone else before calming down.
And that’s exactly what you did. Putting on your slippers, you crossed the threshold of your apartment to appear into the corridor, the cold air only increased your daughter’s cries, probably disturbing the entire building. Violently crying and struggling to catch your breath back, you weakly crashed your fist onto your neighbour’s front door, desperately hoping that they were here.
It was getting suffocating, and you felt like fainting, but you were trying to get a grip on your emotions for your daughter. As you were about to go back to your apartment filled with utter defeat, the door opened on your neighbour, a confused look written on his face as you sighed in relief.
Sangyeon was a young man you had met on your first day moving inside your current apartment. He was kind enough to help you get some boxes inside the elevator while you maintained the metallic doors opened, helping you even more as he saw that you were his new neighbour. He looked really happy to help, relieving you of this stress as you were exhausted from the irregular sleeping schedules of being a mother.
He had let you come inside his apartment once when you had accidentally locked yourself out with your daughter as you were going on a walk to try and lull her to sleep. You felt like you had the angels on your side because he knew an old friend from an ex-co-worker that was a locksmith. He offered him a great tip, so he came within the next hour, allowing you to unlock your door and get back to your apartment safely. The next day, you walked up to his door and offered him a bottle of wine and some baked goods as a way of thanking him, and you could tell that he was touched by your gesture.
Back to the present, Sangyeon took in your messy state, concern filling his eyes as your tears never seemed to stop.
“I am so sorry to disturb you, but my daughter’s been crying for hours now and she doesn’t want to stop, and I don’t know what to do and-“ you tried to say in one breath, but your neighbour stopped you by placing a hand on your shoulder, exhaling deeply as you were lost and confused.
“Please breathe Y/N, it’s gonna be okay. Tell me what’s happening,” he said, his voice clear-cut and composed despite the disturbing screeches of your daughter.
“Her teeth are coming out and she’s in so much pain I don’t know what to do, it keeps me up all night and… and I don’t feel like being capable anymore,” you said as you kept on crying, your neighbour nodding at every word you said.
“Let’s not stay in the corridor. Can I come in your apartment?” he carefully said as he quickly grabbed his keys and locked his door, accompanying you towards yours.
“Yes, yes, of course,” your daughter couldn’t stop yelling and crying, the volume never decreased, only getting rid of the echo thanks to the smaller walls of your apartment.
Your neighbour took his shoes off and placed his keys next to yours, eyes quickly wandering around the apartment: there was no sign of a partner’s presence. He made a mental note of it and strode to the living room, your apartment layout being the same as his, just a tad bit smaller. You sat on the sofa with your crying daughter, eyes still glistening with tears as you couldn’t hold them back.
“Pass me your daughter,” he said as he extended his hands, only for you to stand up and began to guide him on how to take your daughter, but he seemed pretty comfortable without your explanation.
“My sister is a mother too, I got a bit of practice beforehand,” he explained with a reassuring smile, and you nodded, thankful that he filled in the silence, satisfied with the small nods and exhausted smiles you were giving him.
He soothingly rubbed your daughter’s back, gently resting her head on his shoulder as he strolled around the living room. You sighed as you let your temple rest on the backrest of the sofa, trying to get rid of the negative thoughts invading your mind.
“May I ask for her name again?” he asked, and you sniffled, wiping your tears with your top sleeve. “It’s Haerin,” you answered with a tired expression, the man nodding at your words with a reassuring smile. “I wish we could have met again in other circumstances, but babies are a priority,” he said as your daughter’s cries were slowly decreasing, feeling already a bit better as he seemed to be able to magically soothe her.
“I’m so sorry. I needed to give her to someone for a moment, I feel like exploding,” you explained with an apologetic look on your face, but Sangyeon just shook his head, his reassuring smile never leaving his face.
“Don’t apologise for this, you did what was best for you and your daughter,” you felt better at his words, the encouragement you were desperately craving from someone finally reaching your ears.
At the mere thought of not having someone by your side to raise your daughter, loneliness and guilt hit you like a tidal wave, eyes filling up with tears again, and Sangyeon sadly looked at you.
“Thank you. It’s just that… I don’t have someone in my life right now and I barely talk to my friends and family because of my job and my daughter, so hearing some reassurance just makes me feel slightly better,” you said and Sangyeon smiled, walking to the couch as your daughter was now magically asleep in his arms, reddened cheeks due to her cries and the pain of her appearing teeth.
“Y/N, I am sure you are being an amazing mother. It’s not innate to take care of a newborn, it requires a lot of effort, strength, and sacrifices. Of course, it is easier to have someone by your side because they can help around the house, feed your daughter, bathe her, and take care of you and her while you rest. Nevertheless, it’s not impossible to do that alone, and you are even stronger when you cope with everything on your own.” Sangyeon mumbles, gently caressing your daughter's back.
“Don’t you think you are doing a bit too much?” you asked, a bit embarrassed to be praised like that by your neighbour, but you also asked for it. You truly didn’t know what to say, and timidly looked away as Sangyeon didn’t seem to stop.
“No, I don’t think so. Not only do you take care of her, but you also do all the chores, go to work, grocery shopping, do all the administrative work, you are a wonder woman! So with all the physical and mental charges you go through every single day, it’s normal to want to break down at some point. And you did what’s best, give your daughter to someone before you burst. It was a good reflex. Even if it’s hard, you are doing great Y/N, never forget that,” he said with your sleeping daughter in his arms, her tiny fists clutching onto the fabric of his black t-shirt. Tears were streaming down your face as you managed to smile at his words, feeling some strength reappearing in your system at the end of his praising monologue. “Thank you. You don’t realise how much I needed that,” you said in a weak voice, only to have Sangyeon smiling down at you.
“It’s completely normal. You can always come and ask for help with your daughter, or anything else. I’d gladly praise you for being a single mother all over again,” you managed to chuckle at his words, looking down to the floor as you felt his eyes never leaving you.
Looking at your daughter, you felt some maternal inner peace coming back as she was now resting, looking quite peaceful. She looked so safe in his strong, muscular arms, you were almost envying her for being in someone’s embrace.
Sangyeon exuded financial and mental stability, you were glad you rang at his door and not some crazy people. He looked so comfortable on your couch, almost as if he lived there. Well, maybe he felt so comfy because the configuration of his apartment was just like yours, but something felt different. Seeing him sitting on your couch with your daughter in his hold felt… natural, almost normal.
You shook your head as you tried to get rid of those thoughts, feeling suddenly embarrassed to fantasise so easily about him. You held back a smile by clutching your jaw, putting your thoughts down on the fact that you were exhausted and slowly going crazy with managing everything in your life.
“Where is your daughter’s crib?” he whispered and you slowly stood up, waiting a few seconds as dizziness took over your brain, your neighbour holding your forearm with his free hand.
“Follow me,” you tiptoed to her purple bedroom, Sangyeon smiling as he looked at the pretty decoration. He handed your daughter back to you to get her ready for bed, admiring the walls to give you two some privacy. Once you placed her down and neared her stuffed toy, you turned the baby phone on and switched off the light, Sangyeon inviting you to leave the bedroom first before closing the door.
“Thank you so much for your help,” you whispered, and he shook his head, a friendly hand landing on your shoulder.
“You can ring at my door at any time, I’ll try my best to help you,” he said with a reassuring tone. You felt like he was slipping away from you, and before you could do anything, your mouth spoke faster than your brain.
“Can I maybe cook you dinner to thank you?” his eyes widened for a quick second. “It’s really nice of you Y/N, but you are exhausted, you should rest.” “I insist, I think I can do it,” you cursed at yourself for sounding this helpless, watching him ponder your offer before sighing. “Only if you let me help you, then,” he said and you nodded, getting into work in silence as not to wake up your daughter.
With a warm dinner now digesting in your stomach, you both sat down on your couch, unintentionally sitting close to the other as you were exhausted. Closing your eyes for a second, you felt like you had been hit at the back of your head, your tiredness being easily readable on your face.
Drawn features, pale skin, dark circles falling to the middle of your cheek, you looked extremely scary, almost sick. But at least your daughter was healthy, and that’s what mattered the most to you as a mother. Sangyeon started chatting with you about some things, but you were too tired to keep up with what he was talking about.
“Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention,” you mumbled as silence filled in the room, Sangyeon looking at you before letting a smile emerging on his face.
“It’s okay, it was just chattering anyway,” he said and you swallowed down the lump of guilt on your throat, heavily sighing as your whole entire body was screaming and begging you to go to sleep.
The man next to you noticed your drowsy state and exhaled as well. Your head kept falling downwards, only to immediately raise it back up and blink a few times. Without even noticing it, Sangyeon sat closer, and his hand raised to your cheek, cradling it as he gently pushed your head to the side. Your other cheek landed on his shoulder and you frowned, trying to move away as his hand didn’t leave your face.
“Rest Y/N,” he whispered, and you weakly smiled, now realising how your daughter fell asleep in a few minutes in his arms.
Only by resting on his shoulder, you could feel your body grow heavier and more comfortable. His body warmth mixed with his laundry scent and cologne were a surprisingly good mixture to lull you to sleep. Your eyes grew heavier, and you finally gave up, shutting them before falling asleep within the following seconds.
Sangyeon chuckled at your state, gently pushing you away to unfold his arm and wrap it around you, resting your head against his chest. His thumb rubbed in circular motions on your upper arm, sitting comfortably on your couch as you slept against him.
He threw a few glances towards you and you were heavily sleeping, smiling to himself as you unconsciously wrapped your arm around his middle. Maybe he was meant to enter your life and to be honest, he wasn’t willing to leave anytime soon.
