thinking about the snow queen and motherliness. being a mother figure to bella, what a mother is to bella and her time with her family being cut short by t589.

what is a mother? a mother is someone who makes the pain go away. someone who always protects you. she puts the bandaid on, shows you what to say, what to do to protect yourself from harm, because she loves you innately. like listen to our word by 36 questions (iirc) to get bellas relationship with her mother because 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

the snow queen is a mother. the cold numbs the pain away, the ice is a bandaid, your shield from all harm, inside and outside. the biting winds, the distance, is what keeps you safe. you are safe and loved in your mother's embrace. in the warmth of her arms. and the snow queen's unit is getting warmer, isn't it?

a mother is someone who leaves too soon. when you get attached, once you cant imagine a warm life without her, she has to leave. you have to leave. but you still carry the signs. you know how to lie and slither out of punishment. you know how to look pretty. you still look like a poor little kid. you are still a child, and your hand holds a thread that connects all the way to her.

that is why they love you. you're an angel, the perfect girl that only cracks sometimes. frozen, plastered-on [;)] smiles even in the worst of times. your arguments are for the right side. your shunning, your ignorance, your hurt is all for the righteous cause. your mother said so. she is here to protect you and support you.

that is why the snow queen loves you. the real angel. the real child, coming crying to her mother, who listens to every word with a compassionate smile. well, her smile is sharp and cutting. but that's okay. both because that is simply what a polite girl does and because maybe that is what you really want, somewhere within. the love isn't innate, but that's okay. the way the ego gear clings to you is just like your mother's sweet hands putting the bandaid on. it's close enough (do you deserve anything better?), and you're fine with that.

the cold numbs your worries to nothing. it's all fine. it's all okay. you are safe, protected by layers of ice. even outside of the unit, your glasses are frosted-over. her hands cover others' eyes - "here is how we make it all go away: we lie." (< reference to our word's lyrics)

so. yeah. bella being an angel (metaphorically and literally lol), her mother and the snow queen, and a pinch of guilt (being fine with less because, really, you dont deserve better*).

*fuck it we ball. more on this: you dont deserve better because you aren't yet perfect. you're desperate - a child crying for her mother. a relationship sprouted and left deprived. a void in your heart. blemishes on your perfect concept (you can't bear to get rid of them.). and yet, you will still accept what you don't deserve, because you are starved of love. it's your fault. your fault. but your mother loves you still. she loves you innately. come behind her, and together you will deny it all.

thinks about the snow queen and bella. ive recently delved into her story and some of the of fairytale (dubious from some webbed site but. yknow lmao) and wound up with lots of think of... based on her ruina dialogue + appearance, the queen like to challenge the brave. in the fairytale, kai and gerda's childike hearts are still there at the end. bella is someone with a kind heart and not much bravery. (really, she polarizes, but her bravery is more around the alternate alone. she can be brave!! but usually and - especially as she declines - she loses that aspect, likely trading it for simple anger, red-shoes-y desire, etc.) she was also forced to grow up - she is still that lonely kid she was years ago. she is still in t-589, still in c-127. she has a lot to learn, still, and to discover.

the snow queen is.. an interesting figure to me when it comes to her relationship with bella. she is cold, silent, only watching bella as she simply speaks into basically nothingness. she may, sometimes, give her a cruel smile. what a childlike, brave little soul; one who chose to bear the cold. one who enjoys her presence.

"kai saw things he didn't need or want to see." / "he felt like what he knew amounted to so little."

to bella, the queen is a respite. friendcorp has shown her so many new things, good and bad. on the bad side, her mental issues have been unraveling. her unhealthy mindset isn't going to work indefinitely like it used to. but, with the snow queen, it's familiar. it's not even that cold anymore, you know? she's long been used to cold, quiet, endless hallways. talking into the silence - like her words are simply carried away by the wind - is a relief, because noone can hear them. for once, she can speak, and there will be no consequences. and if the queen does hear, well, that's alright. she trusts her, now.

the cold isn't so bitter anymore. it's homely. familiar. it's lively, biting into her skin, sending shivers down her spine. she feels real.

and, ofc, i'll talk about her suicide attempt too. especially her own views on it... eventually, it becomes like a knightly duty to her. she must do this to save everyone else - surely, we'll all be happier this way. yes, you'll have to face this loss. but beyond it is a better ending for everyone here. this is the most logical choice... isn't it?

the snow queen gave kai a kiss - one to no longer feel the cold, and one to forget everything. his family, friends, etc etc. that way, he would stay with the snow queen. she would show him the truth of the world - the shattered mirror shards, his knowledge being so little, the mirror of reason.

"what a shame... all your friends who could help you are gone." really, it's like she pities bella and her kind, lonely heart. she pitites most people, i think, like when she laughed at lee during their duel, or gave merry a sickening smile shortly before being frozen. where her heart should be is empty - she is a cold and calculating being.

in ruina, the mirror is surrounded with frozen people, with the throne being the head of the circle. really, both her and bella have done this time and time again. bella has endured loss after loss, leaving entire worlds behind. the snow queen has killed person after person, snuffing flame after flame. her suicidd isn't much different. it's just, this time. it's a calm, slow end. bella puts up no fight or front of bravery, now. she just wants to return to her dreams of a better world. the queen will gladly show her this, in a place made only for themselves, where bella can finally be completely and utterly herself, in all it's flaws, without consequence. with all of her emotions overtaken by freezing cold, she can finally smile.

and she'll be preserved as an angel. she'll look beautiful, perfect, in this ice, like a bug in amber. she will always be the perfect kid.

also, in the og story, the shattered mirror wound up being made into things like glasses and windows. that fits well with bella's glasses. when kai's eye gets a tiny, tiny shard in it, he sees everything as distorted and ugly. but he sees perfection in snowflakes. the snow queen is made of them, the queen to the "snow bees" that are snowflakes. (they're actually described as snow bees in the story!)

As someone who hasn’t played the twst game very long I just got into it. I wanted to know about events? Like do some not come back? For example do the Masquerade, Port, Beanfest, Ghost bride, starsending events. Do those come back? I hear people say how they missed their chance to get this great card like as if it won’t ever come back and then someone on Reddit will say something like “Oh beanfest happened twice on the JP server” so which events have gotten reruns so far? I would ask about more recent ones like the Easter one but idk if it’s too recent to know if get rerun or if they clarify that it won’t come back? I was really sad to find out about the Silk outfits I missed out on when they visit the scalding sands. I also was really sad to find out i missed out on the anniversary cards because I didn’t play the game yet. I wish they would add the anniversary cards to the store at least…I want to be apart of the celebration :’)

I was looking in the shop and saw all the different groovy items you need to groovify event cards and this question just came to me so I had the urge to ask someone…

welcome to Twst! 🎉 it is a bit confusing to jump right into, especially because. they're not always consistent. :') it sounds like you're probably playing on Eng, which I'm less familiar with, but I'll try based on what I know! (I also don't always remember everything, so somebody please correct me if I get something wrong!)

first, I do recommend the Twst wiki.gg, which seems to stay pretty up-to-date on events for both the Eng and JP versions! it's a great resource for when you want to see if/when an event ran or rerun. in general, I believe that the Eng version only does reruns that have already happened in JP, so if JP has a rerun that hasn't happened yet in Eng, they should get it too eventually! on the other hand, I don't think either version has ever rerun an event more than once. :( BUT this doesn't mean you're entirely out of luck, because:

anniversary events (March for JP, January for Eng) will usually offer a chance to get both an older event SSR and an older birthday SSR in the shop, via buying a special item with exchange currency (which you get by doing pulls on the anniversary gacha, I think you need to do 100-150 pulls for enough currency to buy the item to exchange for an SSR). only SSRs though, and you're limited to one each (one birthday, one event). so if there's an SSR you REALLY want and it's already had its rerun, it's probably worth planning to save up some keys for!

as for actual reruns, they seem to come in a few different flavors:

straight-up rerun, no changes or extra cards

unchanged event story, with a new SSR of a character who wasn't in the story (e.g. Applepom Jamil)

slightly rewritten event story that includes a new SSR (e.g. Ghost Marriage, they don't seem to do this anymore though)

completely new event story that acts as either a sequel or alternate-universe version of the original (e.g. Beans Day part 2, Fairy Gala IF) (though this is pretty rare and might actually count as a separate event, rather than a rerun?)

Master Chef/Culinary Crucible events have never gotten reruns (though they might start now that we've finally gotten through all the characters in JP, time will tell). birthday and Halloween events will also rerun the previous version in addition to the new one -- for instance, Eng should be getting a Glorious Masquerade rerun this year, followed by the new (Playful Land) Halloween event. and a birthday campaign will, in addition to the new card, have a separate pickup for the previous year's birthday card.

for the specific ones you mentioned -- I think Beanfest, Ghost Bride, Fireworks, and Starsending have already rerun in Eng, so those most likely will not be rerun again (at least not anytime soon). Masquerade should be coming back for you guys this Halloween, and Portfest JUST got its rerun in JP, so that should be coming too sometime in the future! (no new SSR though, alas, I was really hoping for a little marching band sailor boy Leona. 😔) the Easter event is the White Rabbit Fest, right? that one hasn't gotten a rerun in JP yet either, so it's still on the table!

all that said, it's entirely possible they'll change the rules at some point and start doing more reruns/chances to get older event cards, especially since the game's been going on for a few years now and some cards haven't been available for a pretty long time! there's only one card that they said was for-realsies limited-time-only and wouldn't ever be available again -- Platinum Grim, since he was to celebrate the 100th anniversary -- so. there's always a little bit of hope for everything else. :D (fairy gala Ortho PLEASE COME BACK SOB)

Wow, I honestly cannot believe ten years have now passed since Frozen came out! And who would have thought that before those ten years were up, Frozen would expand very rapidly into a franchise starting with a short and onto a feature length sequel with TWO more full length sequels currently being developed?!?!?! 😵😵😵

Although Frozen is not my #1 favorite Disney film ever (yes, this may come as a shock to many of you that you know me here on Tumblr), it's still in my top ten favorite Disney movies, and it is the primary reason I created my Tumblr account in the first place. On Tumblr, I've made lots of analyses and gif sets about Frozen and its sequels, both short and feature length. In doing so, I have made many friends on here who share my mutual love for Frozen, and even other Disney films. 😊

I am very proud to be a Frozen fan, and I am elated that my love for it, combined with many other fans' love for it, helped it grow into the franchise it has become. 😁😄

I finished a fic today! I managed to finish it in a year with 90k words and 25 chapters, and I feel so proud of myself! It was hard to write it at times, but I got there in the end. Now I'm working on the sequel for it!
