Like Bulkhead in TFA or Flamewar and Geomotus in IDW2019! There are some lesser known characters throughout the poll, but let's have a guaranteed. So!

i love the idea of targetmasters…

interesting topic of choice for a first ramble, but i’m very serious. someone please match my freak about these things :(

anyway g1 targetmasters are really gay, and so are headmasters but i’m focusing on targetmasters. there’s something so inherently intimate about binding yourself to someone else, serving them with your body for both of your protection. like, your partner has to hold and use you, and you have to have full undying trust and love and respect for the other person to not be mistreated. your partner is a weapon of mass destruction and they trust you to protect them and yourself. that type of dynamic in a war setting is just so tragic yet so good for writing.

for the past year and a half since i got back into transformers, i’ve been hyper focused on specifically the crosshairs and pinpointer/pointech partnership; drawing art and collecting their figures and studying their designs.

out of the original g1 guys that weren’t pre-established main characters or were paired w/ main characters— sureshot, pointblank, crosshairs, pinpointer, peacemaker, and spoilsport— crosshairs and pinpointer are said to have a good relationship. out of the entire gang, these two are the only ones who actually work together and stick together. willingly. sureshot and spoilsport are butting helms because their egos are too big, and pointblank is completely depressed with peacemaker trying to make, well, peace. I’m sure the japanese headmaster cartoon works off this very well, but i haven’t seen it yet. it’s high on my priority list, so please no spoilers.

yeah the characters were made for a gimmick and were introduced in a pathetic season 4, but i liked it. the cybertronian characters went off to become their own things, but it feels like the nebulan/partner aspect of the headmaster/targetmaster dynamic is terribly underutilized in storytelling. the closest thing I can really think of to a modern story including a targetmaster-like dynamic was rid-15, but then that comes into question of “is it a targetmaster or just a minibot/con?” and i’m not too sure how to think of it.

i just want a story where a cybertronian meets and pairs up with an organic or a smaller cybertronian and they become targetmasters. but the entire time, they’re both grappling with the fact that their entire dynamic hinders on war, and they both grow exhausted from fighting. they can’t break the bond, because it’s too ingrained by the time they both are sick of war, and so they both have to heal and fight together, side by side, while trying to keep each other safe and healthy. because why would they want to die now? they made it this far, they could go further, could go until the war ends and they can retire to the countryside and finally get married or whatever.

anyway, TL;DR— big robot hold little robot/organic like a gun makes my heart hurt and brain explode with angsty story ideas.

TRANSFORMERS NextGen

Today I'm gonna introduce you to some more good ol' sketcheZ of mine. ;)

I am reorganizing my foldiers in order to finish artwork, and I found these precious little first versions, haha.

I named them NextGen, because I had some ideas back then, how some of our favourite bot's children would look like in human version. :)

You can find here Drift's sons and daughter Slipstream, Jetstorm (holy hell I LOVED them in Transformers Robots in Disguise. Adorable!!!) and of course Akiko who is an OC; Crossandra (OC) and Sureshot who are Crosshairs' kids, they were the Targetmaster Family; Ratchet's son Medix - and some of the kids of course fall in love with each other (Medix/Akiko; Jetstorm/Crossandra), because I wanted to see how would different parents would react in different situations, haha XD

There were a scene where Crosshairs grumping about 'that samurai kid" to her daughter meanwhile Crossandra cleanses her weapon, sitting on her bed. (I will add it in the future of you would like to see..) I loved these scenes, because they were fresh and New that time, and of course I wanted to share them like this before I do anything changes, then you'll see how much my style changed since then. :)

Two dumb arrogant bitches

I realized I mentioned these two in this post but hadn’t drawn them yet so! Here’s the remaining roommates of Deadlock, Blackarachnia, and Predaking.

Sureshot, like every child of a faculty member, was offered the entrance exam prior to the general public. She’s a little surprised she passed, but her creator Perceptor is not surprised at all. She isn’t as much of a scientist as he is, but she’s picked up a lot of things from him, enough that she’s a real help when dealing with science homework. A quiet little minibot scooter like her is easy to miss in a crowded hallway, but one look at her sweet face and everyone makes sure to give her the space she needs.

Riptide doesn’t know much, but he’s dead certain that he only got into the Academy through a clerical error. There were maybe two questions on the entrance exam he knew the answer for, and the rest went way over his helm. He closed his optics and chose at random, for Prime’s sake! Well, whatever miraculous luck got him accepted, he’s been coasting along with a good attitude and the friendliest smile he can muster. He’s the only one from the Seacon Den that got accepted, and while the patron Hammerstrike was baffled, she’s still very proud of him. There’s plenty of really entertaining classes and kind teachers at this school, so he has a lot of fun even though he rarely understands what’s being taught, and don’t ever ask him for homework help. He’s amicable enough to have made a fair few friends, but he likes hanging out with Sunstorm best. With a size 4 boat frametype, he misses the seas sometimes, but there’s always something new to do at a crazy school like this.

Oh man, the facial angles are a doozy, especially windcharger’s. I think I’ll need to practice drawing her face at different angles before I tear sureshot’s sheet by accident.

Oh! Athaliah’s been taught by her standard human family to look as human as possible. This includes hiding her ears and cat eyes, and even trimming her claws. She’s “learned to stop being so sensitive.” Despite her laborious school work from being so behind, her grades succeeded to point one percenters. Her mother calls that a miracle from god.

Oh, and she unfortunately apprenticed under family friend senator straxus for some time. And he’s a hedonistic, suave person who knows how to game the system in his favor, and hurts and kills with no remorse. He’s basically suave frank reynolds. Or like the cia, they’ve done stupid stuff, but they’re also terrifying. Im also imagining straxus is pals with sentinel trash man. Man, they must’ve been quite a messy duo. Basically, let’s just say straxus is one of the main sources of athaliah’s pessimism and more recent mental breakdowns.

One of serah’s mother’s a wolf beast man. It’s through her the girl’s learned how to forage, trap, and hunt, especially with a sling. Said mother partly does this because she knows cc and beast men deserve a better life; and she wants to spite the higher ups in her own way. But her wife got caught and suffered empurata and shadow play, a month or two after cops “returned” athaliah “to her home.” This leaves her heartbroken and shaken, and their traumatized daughter vulnerable to an older boy of higher class who wants to pull a white savior on her. It doesn’t go well, especially as he plagiarized and edited her information on the land practices (and all because he says it’ll cost much or goes against monoculture). The aftermath is a terrible mess that forces serah to run away for pushing the jerk into dangerous equipment.

But this is also how she and wardina code name windcharger meet. They learn to work together in hunting, foraging, dumpster diving, discussing directions and safe zones. They mostly shoplift for medicine, especially inhalers for wardina’s asthma. They unfortunately need to stay wary for bounty hunters, such as lockdown. Especially lockdown. I wonder if said bounty hunter takes big interest in hunting them down, especially as wardina’s an outlier and serah’s wanted as an escaped cc who assaulted a higher class jerk

Holy s**t. I need to focus less on putting these kids through the wringer.
