I just finished binging season six of TDP (Im sick so I binged through it in a couple hours)
Anyways
I hope I'm not the only one who picked up on Runaan and Aaravos being kinda narrative foils of each other yk? (and by that extent Rayla and Leola)
Like.
Off the top of my head:
They're both elves that get their magic from a celestial body, girldads, ended up trapped in magical round(ish) prisons and we're saved by mages from Katolis.
(There's definitely more and it's much deeper, I'm just... tired)
OH. And. Not to mention but they were saved at narratively the exact same time LITERALLY being used by the show as foils
Idk how more obvious it can get
ANYWYAS this show is
Very good, I've missed it. 11/10 will be excitedly waiting for December to see the final season to Aaravos' arc :)
Just a little something I've been working on. I was wondering how Aaravos would tell Leola about everything that's happened. How does one tell their child that they tore apart the world for them? I also wanted to show a bit of her interactions with some of the other characters.
aaravos was right actually because if a bunch of weird ass star cops murdered my autistic daughter in front of me and then i was imprisoned in a crater with her bones and filled with my tears by the fuckass dragon who ratted out my daughter I would have totally committed The Atrocities too
Okay, so this isn’t really related to the larger parts of the season, but-
Can I just say I absolutely love how they introduced Callum’s dad?
Like, there are so many theories about him, that he was an elf, that he was a warrior who died, that he just up and left them, but in actuality? He was a poet. He was a poet with a sickness from birth and he died from that when Callum was young. He was kind and Sarai loved him. Harrow even respected him and I genuinely love that.
It also makes more sense that it would’ve been harder for Callum to connect with Harrow in the face of that. His dad wasn’t some warrior who died before he knew him, he wasn’t some elf that he never knew, or some deadbeat who left his mom. He was a kind heart poet who was born with a sickness that couldn’t be cured.
