Sweet Clown Prologue Translation
Hello! This is a blog dedicated to posting English fan translations for the otome game Sweet Clown and the 3a.m. Tea Party. To start things off, you can either read a transcribed translation of the game's prologue or watch subtitled videos of it. If you want an idea of what Sweet Clown is about, you can read a brief intro to the game here.
Enjoy!

Despera Drops being localized was surprising!
I'm happy to play it tho~
I'm happy if Aksys continues to also localize non-Otomate otome games as well!
It gives me hope for other games like anything from Ruby Party, Takuyo, Brokkoli etc. being localized one day.
As unlikely as it seems right now😅

Fragrance Tale
Opening
First released on Windows, Fragrance Tale was then ported to the Dreamcast and PS2. This is another game published by TAKUYO, but takes a different approach from the otome norm of visual novels. The one I'm reviewing is the Windows version that was translated/dubbed in Korean. As much as I would've preferred the original dub, the characters are only voiced at the beginning and end.
Story
In the beginning, a group of fairies accidentally drop a fragrance that was originally supposed to be used on the demons. That fragrance is called the Naveri and was a means to bring peace between the angels of Flaithis and the demons of Annwn. The Naveri falls down to Rirudahna where Liam, the protagonist resides in. Wondering what the bottle is, Liam opens it and releases the Naveri fragrance, oblivious to the fact that is was a means of bringing peace to the heavens and hell. Thus, the angels of Flaithis and the demons of Annwn are prompted to visit Liam to give him materials to recreate the Naveri fragrance that has been ordered to him by the seraph, Lugh.
Gameplay
Over the course of about 72 days, you have to mix the Naveri fragrance using the materials the angels and demons give you when they visit your house. You always start the day mixing the materials with holy water. At the start, you actually gather base materials for the fragrance in the forest, which you have to return to after you run out of holy water. You are given a choice of going to school to meet your teacher or the forest to scavenge base materials. Meeting your teacher gives you an insight of which angel/demon has the most affection for you and will even give you a handful of base materials that correlate to that angel/demon. Then, you have a choice to wait for guests, take a nap (which you can only do once per day), or continue to mix the fragrance which all makes the day proceed. After taking a nap for three days, the angel/demon with the greatest affection for you may say that he will visit again at night which grants you another piece of his material. Also, you can choose not to open the door when an angel/demon knocks on the front door which will obviously decrease his affection for you. When talking with the angel/demon, you are not given a text response, rather colored squares you can choose from. The first two squares gives a positive and a negative response respectively. The next three squares refer to each of the other angels/demons opinions. The last square refers to the angels/demons in general depending on who you're talking to. At first, this was confusing for me, but after playing for a while I started to understand the pattern. One other feature about this game is, not only can you end up with an angel/demon, you can also match-make them by mixing the materials each of them give you with their own respective materials. (You can only do angel/demon pairings and not angel/angel or demon/demon pairings.) You get a CG for each pairing which can be a pain to get all of them, but there's some replay value if you wish. Of course, there are multiple endings, but there is one bad ending where you don't create the Naveri fragrance and mix something diabolical…
Art
The art style is unique which is something I like about it. But the fingers did look a little chonky for my tastes. The layout/hub of the game is interesting because the angels sit on the left-hand side of the screen while the demons lounge on the sofa on the right-hand side of the screen. Liam can also appear on-screen interacting with the furniture and objects in his house which was a nice little detail.
Music
At first, the music isn't so bad, but as the game drags on, it can get really repetitive. (I put different music on for the majority of my playthroughs.)
Replayability
Because of how much the game drags on for almost 70+ days with angels and demons coming into your house the whole day, it can be quite tedious to go for a different route. But there are a handful of CGs you can get for each route (as well as match-making them), so committed players may go for all the CGs. In addition to that, there are different fragrance outcomes depending on what you mix, so there are also multiple different fragrance endings you can get on top of that.
Casual Thoughts
I really liked how Fragrance Tale deviated from the visual novel gameplay and did something different. The mixing part was enjoyable and felt like one of those old flash games where you made things/cooked things. It does get tedious though after doing it for 70+ times. If the days were cut down a bit, maybe it would've been more bearable. The many different features in Fragrance Tale is another interesting point about this game, such as the match-making and the night visits. It was difficult trying to find a guide of all the different endings you can get in the game, I'm still unsure if those guides even have everything the game as to offer, but for now I'm sure I got all (if not most) of the fragrance endings. Fragrance Tale overall is something I would recommend for a playthrough or two. After that though, I strongly advise playing with a guide because those playthroughs after that get really tedious.

Takuyo will release otome visual novel Shinigami to Shoujo for Switch, the publisher announced.
Shinigami to Shoujo first launched for PSP in July 2011 in Japan, followed by PS Vita in July 2019.
Here is a synopsis of the game’s story, via VNDB:
Toono Sayo is a beautiful girl that lives with her older brother, Toono Touya, who is an author. Her brother tells her about his next story: ‘Shinigami to Shoujo.’ He explains that it will be about a lonely shinigami and a girl, and their search for the most beautiful word that exists.
One day, when Sayo looked up at a clock tower that has long ceased to move, she met a man wearing strange white clothes. When she asked him who he is and why he is wearing such weird clothes, he told her that he has no memory of his identity and that the only thing he knows is that he is a shinigami. Sayo suggests that if he does not know his name, she’ll give him one and named him ‘Ao’ (blue) after how similar the man’s eyes are to the color of the sky.

Shinigami to Shoujo (Spoiler Thoughts)
Well this game was a long ride! Considering my disappointment with BWS (a favourite in the otome fandom), I was hesitant in setting my expectations too high with StS (another acclaimed otoge). And what a pleasant surprise.
I’ll be going over very brief summaries of each chapter (well more like highlight my fave key moments). I’ve also included translated snippets/lines of scenes I found most memorable (pls correct me if I made a mistake oops). Sprinkled in between, I’ll discuss some of my thoughts/interpretations, as well as questions because I need clarification lol. To be honest, I’m not really sure what this post can be called, but you could say it’s a mix of the above?
