・Your life was bittersweet.

・One of the crew on the Queen Anne's Revenge. Angelica had taken you under her wing. At first you thought you were going to move up in the ranks, become a better pirate; learn, grow, better yourself etc.

・It wasn't long before you realised the danger that you were truly in.

・No matter how eager Angelica was to protect you; she could barely protect herself.

・But you did fall head over heels for Jack Sparrow. Sorry, Captain Jack Sparrow.

・You saw the charm he exuded and fell under it immediately. Willingly, of course. As the Queen Anne was no longer an option for you.

・Escape was your only option. But you bid your time, waiting for the opportune moment...

・You made it to Whitecap Bay with the rest of the crew. Where you had been made to capture a mermaid.

・The creatures were nothing like you had been told. They were terrifying. Dangerous. Unpredictable. But incredibly alluring.

・You didn't want to hurt them - you were hoping one would drag you down to the depths below.

・You had so many questions for them; they could clearly communicate, and were intelligent creatures.

・When Syrena had been captured, you were conflicted; sad for her but ... excited at the opportunity for your questions to be answered.

・And you knew you were going to help her escape anyway.

・It was difficult to explain that to her though

・But you did everything to show her, you weren't a threat. Just someone lonely, someone desperate to have a close friend.

・Syrena understood. Her english was broken but you two began a great friendship. Asking about her life, her family. You just had so many goddamn questions.

・But sometimes it was really difficult to talk to her.

・She was heavily guarded. Evren the Priest had trouble getting to her for a while.

・Goddamn that Priest ...

・You were jealous of the time he was spending with her

・But you thought it would be best to team up with him and help the siren escape. He was incredibly surprised by this, but admired your courage.

・So, it was agreed that at the opportune moment you three would make a break for it.

・And like hell you did.

・Amongst the chaos, you were able to get away from the main conflict and get each other somewhere safe.

・Then Syrena had a proposal. Of you two to come with her. Into the depths.

・You said yes instantly.

・Wrapping both arms around the two of you, she dragged you under and gave you the kiss of life - you were able to breathe under water. To see clearly, but you felt your clothes weigh you down.

・You looked over at the Priest (you always called him that, even though you knew his real name).

・And he was absolutely shocked, but his smile soon mirrored your own.

The entire cliff, above and below, echoes it, as if the gryphons grieve the loss of the flier as one.

"Look at how beautiful you are, Violet, coming for me on Tyrrendor's throne."

"That trick you mentioned? You know, with the fingers? Thanks."

You know that Cabin Boy, played by Robbie Kay in On Stranger Tides?

I imagine him having a mother or older sister or something, Who, after learning her boy was kidnapped by pirates (enlisted to sail under “Jack Sparrow”), goes to find him. And the only pirate place she knows of is Tortuga.

Eventually, she finds him there. And he tells her about his adventures on the Queen Anne’s Revenge and the fountain of youth, and Whitecap Bay.

And a few years later, it’s evening and she’s sewing him a new shirt. Cause he’s a growing boy. And he’s sitting by the fire whittling or somethin’. And she asks him; “Tell me about the mermaids again, won’t you?” And the boy tells the story of Whitecap Bay and Scrum’s song and the mermaid they saw. But then she asks about the mermaid who had shed the tear, the mermaid captured by Blackbeard.

But the boy counters that it wasn’t Edward Teach, the most feared (and now most dead) pirate of them all, who caught the mermaid. But that christian guy, Phillip. He remembers the name vaguely. “Oh?” She mumbles, gently encouraging him to elaborate. And the boy spoof off, telling the grand tales about how Phillip gave the mermaid a name and stood up for her safety and comfort even though he was responsible for her captivity. to of Phillip and Syrena. How Blackbeard made his crew fake Phillip’s death to try and get a tear out of Syrena. And how Phillip was caught freeing her.

Ending in the glorious recounting of the last time Philip was seen, as the boy had freed Phillip and sent him on his was to rescue Syrena

And his mother tells him he did good. And she gets a look on her face he hasn’t seen before, so he asks.

And she tells him that that story reminds her of how she met his father.

And maybe that’s why the mermaids at Whitecap Bay did not harm him. Maybe that’s why he ran away to the sea
